One of the only union electricians in the Channahon area that does RESIDENTIAL work.
Mr. Paxson did an excellent job!  We had three receptacles, two fans, and three switches installed.  Mr. Paxson gave us a very good estimate, and stayed in contact with us as we decided what to have done.  
On the day the work was completed he showed up on time.  
All of the work is top notch!
As the work was completed he kept the area very clean.
Everything was done within three hours.

My parents' electricity was going out for the past couple of days due to the circuit breakers being loose.  I decided it was time to get an electrician to evaluate the situation and see what was going on. The house and the entire electrical system is original from the 1980's.  I came across Electric City and they had very good reviews so I decided to call them.

The electrician who showed up turned out to be the owner. He was very friendly from the start. I explained to him the situation and he immediately got to troubleshooting. He was able to determine the situation right away and explained to me everything he was seeing.

He was very honest in determining what needed to be replaced and what can stay. He even mentioned that it would be best to replace the entire box and all of its components but he would save me the money and get everything to be in excellent condition again.  

Overall, he replaced only what needed to be replaced and did it as if he was working at his own home.  Very honest work ethics and customer service. Price was very reasonable as well. Couldn't be any happier that I chose Electra City. Keep up the good work!

Norb & Sons were great.  Mike, Tom, and the rest of the crew were easy to work with, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced.  After getting a few quotes for an upgraded main service panel and sub-panel, we chose Norb based somewhat on price, but mainly on other Yelp reviews.  We were very happy with the work, the timeliness, and the communication.  Their work was pristine and the (difficult) local electrical inspector signed off without any issues.  I will definitely look to Norb again for any electrical work.

My husband and I made an offer on a brick bungalow built in 1929 and in great shape, but the home inspection indicated that the electrical needed upgrading. We found Arnold Electric Services and asked Jack to come by for an estimate. He met us at the house in the morning and emailed us a PDF estimate by 8:30 that night! Jack was very thorough and courteous; he asked questions and explained things in non-technical terms; and his estimate (provided at no cost) helped us tremendously -- both for understanding what upgrades were needed and for negotiating with the sellers.

After closing on the house, we hired Jack to do the work -- basically removing the entire existing electrical service and installing all new components. Jack worked with us to find creative ways to reduce costs (for instance, installing surface mounted GFCI receptacles to avoid going into walls) and stayed true to his quoted price, even though additional work beyond the initial estimate was necessary. The work was completed both quickly and professionally.

As first-time home buyers, we were nervous and wary about working with contractors, and upgrading the electrical service was a huge expense for us. Jack was so easy to work with, and so friendly and personable, that the experience was actually a pleasure. I can't recommend him highly enough.

I had accidentally tiled over the spot on the electrical outlet where you attach one side of the cover on the kitchen backsplash. With my property sale inspection in a few days, I needed a handyman to fix my DIY blunder ASAP. Eligio was able to fix it quickly and the turnaround time from request to completion was less than 24 hours.  I recommend him and his business highly!

We had an electric heater and new blow dryer on at the same time tripping a circuit breaker that was overloaded and warm to touch. He was available quickly and explained the situation. I would call him again for any other electrical need.

This is the best electrical contractor in the area.When I had a short in my kitchen, two other electricians could not find the problem. I was told that I would need to gut my kitchen to either find the break or to just have it rewired. Luckily a friend referred me & told me to I call Olson before making my decision. They came out promptly & luckily found the issue. The others were on the right track, but stopped short of finding the issue. Steve & Paul located the break, & were able to fix the issue without having to gut the kitchen. They do quality work, & are extremely knowledgeable. I refer them now, & will only use them for my electrical in the future!!

Fast and courteous service!  I've had a couple of calls out for electrical service in my unit after a serious roof leak.  I've  been impressed with the level of service and diligence at finding the root cause of the electrical issues.

Had a GFCI trip during the night for no apparent reason, nothing running at the time.
Called to request that it be checked out. Showed up within 20 minutes, did a thorough evaluation and very reassuring.
Will definitely add to my address book for future use.

The owner, Brian, of Aspire Electric has a really bad attitude, bad temper, tough to deal with.  I've dealt with many electricians, and this was one of the worst.  As one of the other reviewers mentioned, do not sign an open contract.  Have a specific price detailed out on what is and is not included, and any changes should be approved with a change request.

Had some outlets that were out and one that needed to be fixed! They fixed everything in half an hour and very reasonable pricing! They even called me the next day that I first called to let me know someone canceled and they could come today! Compared to others this was a great price! They were on time and worked quickly! Will use them for remodel!!

Dino asked for 1/2 upfront 500$ night before job.  Then didn't show up day of !  Didn't answer phone!  Or text for 24 hours!   Next day after I canceled payment with pay pal he called to say couldn't do job with out the money that we have in limbo now?  And he caught a 24 hour bug ! (After doing what ever he does Friday nights!) Didn't apologize at all for anything .  In fact he then told me he would return money but he had to call back all the other clients that called him FIRST!  I had to 3 way him and pay pal to get him to believe me telling him  that he could return money without it taking 30 days!   Then he did not before starting to sware over the phone that I can just get my money and pay him in check.   Careful he can get a temper!   This morning PayPal informed me his return was denied due to INSUFFICIENT FUNDS !  6 days after I payed him he still didn't have my money knowing the return was coming!!  Never mentioned he spent the money.  I gave him every chance to at least be honest and he lied the whole way.  He texted us this morning in response to us Leaving a very unhappy message . And He texted back That we screw** him!!!  ?   And he refused tell us where are money went.      
BEWARE.  SCAM ARTIST.   LIAR.   CHEAT!!!!!!

Prompt, Courteous and Affordable Service

After struggling with trying to get a tripped switch to work, I conceded defeat and came to Yelp! to look for a local electrician. As I called the number, I was thinking that I would get a response the next day. Imagine when I received a call back less than two hours later! Once having received the call, though, I thought for sure that I would be told that there would be an opening available tomorrow afternoon or something like that. No, much to my incredible surprise, I was asked if it would be okay to arrive in 30-45 minutes. After the lights being out in half the house for two days, the answer was a resounding Yes!.

Mr. Smith arrived at my house by 8:30 pm. He saw the junction box, pulled off the cover, and immediately diagnosed the problem as a burnt wire and what he called a double-tap. It appeared that a switch had burnt out before and had not been replaced. So the wire meant for that switch was put on another one that was already occupied. Keep that in place for 13 years and we end up with a switch that eventually got burnt out.

Two new switches, correct wiring, 15 minutes and less than $115 later, the electricity was back in the house and I can now use my baseboard heater and my hair dryer without fear of my lights going out. I would definitely recommend them for  your electrical needs.
