Best Water Heater Repair in Detroit MI
Andre doubled the price ($525) from original estimate for faucet installation when at suburban Detroit home due to minor change in work. My recommendation is to find someone honorable to do the work - this company should be avoided.

John P and a partner just left my home February 22nd and they were absolutely amazing and professional. They were respectful of my home, were very communicative and very quick at their job. I had leaking in the basement that flooded into my bathroom and they had detected the problem and fixed it within an hour. I was charged less then I was quoted for just a consultation from another company. Would recommend Universal plumbing to anyone who values quality work.

WARNING, CALL WATERWORKS INSTEAD.
I used Nelson's brothers for a small leak from my bathtub to my basement. The guy advised I needed to replace the handles in my shower, which he quoted me around $300 depending on how long it takes to install. He then stated he did not have the parts and he could switch it to one handle for $600. I agreed because I wanted my shower fixed and he already removed the old handles. After 3 hours, he then said he could no longer offer 1 handle. I am not sure why he didn't know this from the beginning? Isn't this his job? Anyways, he then ordered the 3 handles which took about a week to get. He came back in a week to install the new handles. Which cost me $600!!!! Insane! One of the handles then broke a few days later and I called nelsons to come back out.. the paperwork stated I had a 90 day warranty but the spout to the handle was not covered, therefore, I was charged another $110. Not really sure what the $600 was for? New plastic?? Probably cost $10.
Not a honest company and they do not follow there warranties! Beware before using them.
I had another property I had the same 3 knobs replaced and water works charged me $315 vs the $710 Nelson brothers charged me. This was within the same month.

I called Nelson Brother on 1-27-16 to have my basement drain snaked out. The drain was backed up due to tree roots, a common problem in my area. I was charged 186.00 for the cleanout; Creith completed the work. 26 days later I had the same issue with the plumbing, it was backing up again. I called Nelson Brothers to come out and snake the drains for the second time. The second charge was 178.00 and he went an additional 8 feet (1$ per foot), this time it was completed by Rob.
1. Check your bill... I was charged the same amount for both visits and additional work was completed on the second visit. Makes no sense.
2. A warranty is not given if tree roots or items such as wipes are found in your pipes.
3. Request Rob to come to your home. He did a wonderful job, extremely polite, explained the situation and even cleaned up after himself. Creith ... Well, I have nothing positive to stay about my first visit, he left a HUGE mess and tracked mud all over my house and did even do a good job causing another guy having to come out.
4. FYI: A minimum charge of 98.00 is due today and this only includes 1/2 hour of labor.

Bob came out a couple hours after my emergency call. He found the leak, fixed it, and also fixed another showerhead problem for $200. He was efficient, friendly, polite, and cleaned up the wet mess before he left. I would highly recommend Bob and this company.

We are new to the area and wanted to keep it local. Dixie plumbing had great response time and was on time less than 24 hours later. Wore a mask, was professional and had everything fixed in a matter of less than 15 minutes. Pricing was reasonable and I will call them again should I have any other issues.

I have been buying properties for 17 years and Michael accomplished what few other plumbers will even attempt. he was referred to me from a friend in common and went and looked at my clogged drain the same day. I had six inches of water in the basement AND my stairs to the basement collapsed from the previous plumber who attempted it and broke them with his heavy equipment. Mike went the same day, got his equipment down there and worked on the drain until he got it freed up. excellent communication. great pricing and incredible service. thanks Mike. I appreciate the excellent service.

I messaged them on yelp got a reply and a next day appointment within 20 minutes. Incredible customer service. When they came out and determined that my issue wouldn't require their services they gave me some advice and insisted I didn't owe them anything for coming out. If I ever need the services they provide in the future they'll be my first phone call. Highly recommend them.

I put a pin hole in a gas line to our dryer (it had a separate shutoff valve, so it wasn't an emergency).. I called and talked to Doug, and he said he'd have Kyle out first thing the next morning. He was on time, with the part he needed to fix it, and 30 minutes later he was finished. Great service and extremely friendly. Would highly recommend! Thanks!

Don't call these people on a weekend. They will send a young plimber with an attitude who just wants a quick fix and extras. When I inquired about a running toilet he told me the flush mechanism was out of date and he wanted to install an electric one with a button on the wall.

If I could leave a negative star rating, I would. When we had a flood in our basement, we called this company and were told that the clean up cost would start at $450--after the plumber started working our quote went up to $2500. Yikes! Now we get that people have different plumbing needs and different sized basements, and therefore pricing is going to vary, but $2500 isn't even sort of close to $450; a more accurate picture of what it generally costs would have been nice. My mother called the company back to get clarification on why there was such a difference in price, and the woman she spoke to was exceedingly, unnecessarily rude, saying that she'd told my mom that $450 would just be a starting point, and actually started yelling at my mother. Completely unacceptable. Bottom line: they were not as clear as they should have been with the pricing, and their attitudes/treatment of us only made this process that much more unpleasant and stressful.
Dear A&E Anytime Plumbing,
If you don't have the wherewithal, the understanding, heck, the customer service skills, to deal with people when they're going through a stressful experience, when they're being told that a majority of their items will have to be thrown out, then you're in the wrong business. Please get better training for your employees, or maybe just some new employees.

Worst service ever! Over priced! Racist!
I had them come out to check an issue. They practically force me into service, charged $320 just for trying to fix the problem. (NO THEY DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM) Once, Blake, the plumber seen I didn't have cash to pay him (the money was on my card) he started tripping and saying You black mfs trying to play me like I wasn't getting my card to pay him! It was very uncalled for! I felt very disrespected! I have a recording of his disrespect and everything. Very racist company!

Skip this guy. He is a rip off artist. Oh, he seems nice and friendly at first but he'll take you for what you have and do a bad job. He put in new pipes in the basement because sewage was flowing into the basement and he said new pipes would stop that. They didn't. He didn't finish the job properly. After tearing up the cement, putting in new pipes, he screwed up laying the fresh concrete down. He didn't have enough cement to contour the slope of the floor to direct water into the drain so he said he would be back in a few days to finish the floor. He never came back. And when sewage started seeping back into the basement, I called him, NO ANSWER. I text messaged him, NO RESPONSE. I emailed him, NO REPLY. So now he has my money and I have the same problem as I did before but now the sewage is flowing into the basement through brand new pipes.

Just wanted to let everyone know that if you ever have a plumbing issue to stay FAR away from Thornton & Grooms. We had them come out Friday (6/11) to re-pipe our house and paid a pretty hefty amount (almost $5,000) for it to be as crappy as it is. We've had issue after issue. Pipes weren't run to anything, we've had more leaks than we had before the plumbing was fixed, and they never sent out a city inspector to make sure it was up to code. Currently our bathroom is torn up from the floor up without a toilet OR a sink and they have yet to give us a place to stay. Keep in mind, I'm 7 months pregnant. They don't care about the customers, only about the money.

Hoover fixed my plumbing problem. My complaint is with their business practices. I noticed an online offer for any drain cleared for $89. I called and was told the offer only applied to drains cleared on the main floor, not the basement. Their guy showed up and, sure enough, he snaked the drain from below my kitchen sink on the main floor. I mentioned the $89 offer and he said it only applies to clogs within 5 feet of the sink. In actuality, I believe the clog was within 5 feet of the sink, but how could I prove that? I'm guessing nobody has ever gotten to use that $89 offer. In the end, I paid $200 for a 15-minute job that I believe should have cost me $89. I won't get fooled again.

Hot water line on our rented Reliance tank developed leak. It was right on the elbow on the pipe coming out of the Reliance installed tank for which we generously pay almost $100 every quarter. The leak was enough to cause flooding in our basement, entire floor will have to be replaced.
But that is not the reason for the review. The real reason is trying to reach Reliance for help. Tried to reach them whole Saturday, whole Sunday to get the elbow replaced so we could have water in the house (had to close main valve to stop leak). No answer at all from any number called, tried the sales line, billing line, they are all useless. Finally decided to call different plumber who fixed the leak. Thank you Reliance for absolutely nothing. That tank of yours is coming out and you can keep your crappy service for yourself.
