11/23/2018: Once again, Mark solved a plumbing problem for me, this time in my laundry room. I needed more space for a new washer and dryer. Mark assessed the problem, explained a couple of possible solutions, and gave me a price quote for each. I chose the less costly solution, and it turned out great.
Mark moved my laundry tub (new tub and fixtures) six inches over to the side wall, which solved the space issue.
As always, he did a great job and went the extra mile to correct the main problem, along with another small leak nearby. I really appreciate his attention to detail.
He's always on time, explains things clearly, performs work thoroughly, and cleans up the area before leaving. Mark is a real pro!

Called Mitch this morning in regard to a toilet that was leaking and was told someone would be out to our home around 3:00 pm today (8/31/15). It's after 11:00 pm and not only did no one show up at our home, we didn't even deserve a phone call to say they couldn't make it today. I also called and left a message at approximately 4:45 pm to no avail. This is not the first time we've called Mitch, he's always come out promptly, however, after this experience, it will be the last!!! I guess he's yet to learn your company is only as good as your reputation. My advice to anyone needing a plumber, call someone else.

There really aren't enough nice words to use when describing this company. We use them for every plumbing issue, big or small, because they can be relied on to be fast, friendly, and most of all, honest.
They are up front with their pricing and always reasonable. Their responses are lightning fast. Highly recommend!

We are new to the area and wanted to keep it local. Dixie plumbing had great response time and was on time less than 24 hours later. Wore a mask, was professional and had everything fixed in a matter of less than 15 minutes. Pricing was reasonable and I will call them again should I have any other issues.

I have been buying properties for 17 years and Michael accomplished what few other plumbers will even attempt. he was referred to me from a friend in common and went and looked at my clogged drain the same day. I had six inches of water in the basement AND my stairs to the basement collapsed from the previous plumber who attempted it and broke them with his heavy equipment. Mike went the same day, got his equipment down there and worked on the drain until he got it freed up. excellent communication. great pricing and incredible service. thanks Mike. I appreciate the excellent service.

In my case, same-day service. On-time, respectful and responsive. Can pay via debit/credit cards. Wants to beat the competition! I needed a diagnosis before they started work. Estimate price was lowest given through Yelp!

Called Doug Brock to come take a look at my water heater that wouldn't power on. He was booked for the next 3 days so instead offered to help trouble shoot over the phone! He asked us to text him photos of the model and walked us through some basic trouble shooting and was able to help us fix the problem! His helpfulness, honesty and great customer service not only saved us money but earned our trust for all future plumbing needs! Thanks so much!!

Precision Plumbing repaired an indoor faucet yesterday. We have used them for our plumbing for over 7 years. They are always profession, courteous, and their prices are fair. They do business right!

Top notch experience today - I had an plumbing issue with a backup of a kitchen line, and water and decomposing food in my basement.
Courteous and good safety concerns, and attention to clean safety (booties etc).
Good initial analysis. Resolved the problem after a couple Of hours, and even took time to clean up the mess that was already there, which he didn't have to do but had a shop vac.
5 stars. Couldn't ask for more.

I had a clogged sink, and thought I needed it snaked. The serviceman was very professional and did an excellent job.
Once the serviceman got there, he determined that the sink just needed to be plunged. The problem I had was that it took about 60 seconds, and I was charged $79.00.
I understand that companies have standard service call fees that they collect, regardless of how much work is performed, but I feel I was taken advantage of, for the work that was performed. I'm not sure if I would use this company again.
Next time I will do due diligence.

Ronald Brosseau has 2 companies listed and 2 websites for the same thing - he's listed as Ron's plumbing & heating
ronsplumbingandheating.c… and also Iron Pipe Plumbing

Don't be fooled by his low prices and the promise that he won't charge if he can't do anything. He charged me $40 and claimed he opened the sewer 'half-way'. I was too sick to double-check. The truth is, he left the back door to my house unlocked, the cap is missing from the clean-out drain, and the clean-out drain has been moved to the center of the room. I can no longer use any part of my plumbing. IT'S MUCH WORSE!
Oh, and he was very, very rude.

Terrible service and unprofessional. I recommend you check the owners (David Pfalz) history of this company before hiring them.

Worst service ever! Over priced! Racist!
I had them come out to check an issue. They practically force me into service, charged $320 just for trying to fix the problem. (NO THEY DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM) Once, Blake, the plumber seen I didn't have cash to pay him (the money was on my card) he started tripping and saying You black mfs trying to play me like I wasn't getting my card to pay him! It was very uncalled for! I felt very disrespected! I have a recording of his disrespect and everything. Very racist company!

I am really torn on this review. Part of me is pissed. The other totally gets it so here's the scoop.
Our furnace dies overnight. Oh, and it's -5 degrees out. It had been making noise for a few weeks so I had opened it up and had a pretty good idea that our induction motor was going bad. I had already done some homework on the part cost. Now, officially broken, I scheduled an appointment online, and they promptly called as soon as they opened. I had a technician in my house at 9am. He was a great guy and confirmed that the induction motor was indeed the culprit. He also found a few other things that would need addressing in the near future. So far so good. In fact, really good.
However, after telling me he would get some quotes together on just the needed repair and then on the other stuff that needed attention, things went south. The quote on the induction motor repair was $1233. All of the work would have been north of $2000. Now, I have a 15 year old furnace so suddenly we were thinking that maybe it was time for something new. Problem was, my early homework had told me that I could get an induction motor on my own locally for $67. I am not that handy but, honestly, it didn't look that difficult. So we told our tech that we needed to think on it.
I debated calling for another quote but then said to hell with it, I was going to try it on my own. As I sit here in my warm house, $97 later, I can't help but be frustrated. I mean, on one hand I get that same day service, the running for parts, and all of that costs real money. Especially for these types of businesses this time of the year. On the other hand, the $1100 delta between the DIY solution and having the pro do the repair just feels extremely gratuitous to me. I mean I would have probably said yes at $800 but $1233 is simply outrageous by any measure or standard.
Thornton and Grooms has always been an extremely reputable business. It's the reason I called them. That said, when you look at how the reviews here are trending, I cannot help but wonder if something has changed with their business model. I would never begrudge a business making a healthy profit on me but this kind of mark-up feels predatory when you take into account the circumstances (0 degrees out and no heat with children in the home) of our call to them. From the looks of things, Thorton and Grooms is very conscious of their online reputation so I am hoping someone in a decision making role in the organization reads this. There's an old saying: Pigs get fed and hogs get slaughtered. It appears to me that Thorton and Grooms needs to make a decision about which avenue they plan to take in the future. In the meantime, based on my experience, you should do your homework prior to allowing them to do a repair in your home.

Hoover fixed my plumbing problem. My complaint is with their business practices. I noticed an online offer for any drain cleared for $89. I called and was told the offer only applied to drains cleared on the main floor, not the basement. Their guy showed up and, sure enough, he snaked the drain from below my kitchen sink on the main floor. I mentioned the $89 offer and he said it only applies to clogs within 5 feet of the sink. In actuality, I believe the clog was within 5 feet of the sink, but how could I prove that? I'm guessing nobody has ever gotten to use that $89 offer. In the end, I paid $200 for a 15-minute job that I believe should have cost me $89. I won't get fooled again.

Gill Plumbing was able to get me out of a bind today. I had my LG washer and Gas dryer delivered today but wasn't able to uncap the gas line to hook up the dryer :^(.
I called numerous other 'Name Brand' plumbing business' but all were unable to come for at least a week. That wouldn't do... One call to Gill and the dispatcher said they would be able to come out this afternoon! He arrived on time and was able to complete all of the work (uncap dryer gas line and install shutoff valve then hook up dryer.. uncap stove gas line and install shutoff valve, recap and check all for leaks) in a timely manner at one low cost. I am very pleased with Gill Plumbing & heating and will definitely use them in the future.
