HISTORY

Established in 2006.
Initially started as a side project by master plumber David Greylen in 2006. There came a day when a decision had to be made. It was not possible for David to work for his former employer and keep up with the explosive growth that WaterWork was experiencing. It was quite a leap of faith but with a lot of hard work and determination, WaterWork has become a budding superstar of a company. We are now a team of 21 with plans for further expansion. Beyond striving to provide quality service and workmanship, we hope to be pillars of our community for years to come. We are big enough to handle any plumbing need but small enough that its still personal that you receive the same service that we would expect for ourselves.

ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER

Hello and thanks for your interest. My name is David. I am a licensed Master Plumber and have over 20 years of experience in my field. I really enjoy providing personal customer service to clients. It is truly an honor to be invited into peoples homes and businesses. Nothing makes me smile more than to know that the workmanship we provide often brightens peoples days.

These guys are lifesavers!!

After an electrical problem outside the house killed our dishwasher, the delivery service that was supposed to complete delivery, install, and haul-off, gave excuse after excuse and finally just refused to finish the job and walked.

We were already working with Waterwork for a job scheduled later in the year, so we just called to see what they could do. No problem! They sent someone the next day, set everything up, and even helped us modify the enclosure for the best fit.

Don was amazing with the kids and the dog, and he made us really comfortable explaining everything he found and the steps he was taking to make our very not standard kitchen space work for us.

They've made friends here, and we recommend them for any of your needs.

I've used WaterWork to accurately diagnose sewer/drainage issues we were experiencing.  They always respond quickly with capable tradesmen and perform the services at the price quoted (or less).

I won't hesitate to call them on any future plumbing needs.

From the beginning, with the phone call up,  until the process was completed every individual I encountered was very welcoming.  They were also very quick to get someone out.  Nicco, my Service Technician,  was friendly and personable.  And made sure that he explained to me what the issue was and made sure everything was put back correctly once he finished.  He got in and out.  Of course,  I wished I didn't have to contact a plumber, but if I had to spend my money again I feel secure in saying I would contact WaterWork Plumbing.

They responded same night even though it was after hours.  They gave me a quote, set up an appointment and showed up as planned.  The price quoted was the price charged.  Very professional and helpful.  I will absolutely use them again if needed.

Had a couple of minor plumbing problems and I contacted Waterwork. The appointment was quick and Chris tokk care of them in under 30 minutes. The only issue I had was that we had agreed to pricing and it was not communicated to the technician. I was quoted a higher price after the work was completed and had to point out  that a lower price was agreed to.

We rely on Waterwork for all of our plumbing needs. They've cleared out tree roots from our sewer line, replaced the 100 year old pipes under our bathtub, repaired our garbage disposal, the list goes on and goes. They are responsive, efficient, and professional. We've tried out other local plumbing companies in the past, but Waterwork has become our go-to & favorite.

Do not trust this company.  We had a sump pump installed in July and were told that it came with a warranty.  Flood in Feb. The person who came out to fix it said it was improperly installed.  $1K in damage and mold.  Found out that WaterWorks does not have a warranty that they are willing to honor. David the manager told me they don't stand by their work and if I want to, I can go sue them.  I asked to speak with the owner or his manager and was told that there is no need because we are at an impass.

The owner can say whatever they want but his reviews on BBB speak for themselves.  This company has an F rating.

Top notch again - resolved a clean out of pipes in basement from kitchen drainage.  Nice, respectful (shoe booties and cleanup etc), and explains clearly issue.  Actually got to be within 2 hrs of calling as well.

This was a different service guy but same top notch service. He was able to review detailed notes from previous service so knew exactly where the cleanout was, previous issues and service completed (this was the same situation from couple years ago).

My go-to and referred them to 2 other people as well.

Our plumbing beneath our wash basin in the bathroom began leaking overnight and got water all over the towels and other things we kept under the basin and flooded a small part of our basement.

We called WaterWork Plumbing at about 10:00 am and Cody arrived promptly around 11:00 am. He replaced the shutoff valves and installed new braided water lines. He was quite efficient and very courteous and got us up and going again in short order.

The cost was quite reasonable given the inflation we have had in everything for 2 years.

We would certainly be willing to use thier services again as needed. Thanks to Waterwork Plumbing and Cody for a job well done.

Thank you so much WaterWork Plumbing for getting out to my Mom's condo on short notice to deal with an emergency leak under the sink.  Catherine went the extra mile to make sure we got the service and Jordan the plumber got out there quickly.  I don't know what I would have done without you guys.  Have always used these guys for our plumbing needs.   Outstanding customer service and plumbing.

This place is awful - they damaged my home and kept my money without fixing the problem I hired them for. I had a leaky bathtub faucet and they sent a plumber who failed to repair it. He said it was an old part he couldn't get but he spent all day there and charged me even tho it wasn't complete. They charged almost $800 for nothing. After paying I called back to have them come back to complete the fix. This time they then dislodged the drain collar causing water to gush through my floor and damage my kitchen below. They refused to acknowledge the damage and quoted another ~$1200 to fix the original leak. So I was worse off than when they started with damage to my home. They make you sign something before doing any work so that they can charge you even if they mess it all up and don't fix it - don't do it! You will have no recourse when they screw up and keep your money.

Had a really disappointing experience. I had called to make an appointment and explained over the phone exactly what I wanted done -- specifically, I was hoping to raise the water level in the toilet bowl, which after watching a bunch of how-to videos seemed perfectly within the laws of physics. They sent a technician, and standing in my doorway, said it was impossible -- the water level was dictated by the geometry of the bowl -- and charged me $100. I paid $100 for absolutely nothing aside from repeating in person what I has asked for on the phone an hour earlier. I don't honestly know if he was right or not, but I paid $100 for the experience.

Contacted WaterWork at 11:45 am and by 1:50pm someone came to my home to assess where water was entering my basement from the upstairs tub.

The person sent to my home wore shoe coverings and did various things to identify the source of water.

My water issue was not pluming related but tile and grout related. The Plumber who helped me offered some insights to the origin and offered reasonable remedies and was mindful that it is also out of his scope of experience but had seen success for others with similar challenges.

He was kind and respectful of my home and my crated dogs. Appreciated the service and the interaction.

We had been experiencing flooding in our laundry room, and I requested a quote from several different plumbers in the area. Waterwork Plumbing was very quick to respond and spot on in their estimate over the phone. The people whom I spoke to via phone were very professional, quick and empathetic. Jeff was our plumber, he showed up on time, was very social and friendly and FAST. He was very honest with the issue that we were facing and even offered to look at a couple of other things in the house. The honesty was the best part for me because we felt taken care of and that we weren't being taken advantage of. I would definitely recommend Waterwork Plumbing! Thank you, Jeff and keep up the great work!

We had a number of relatively minor plumbing issues such as sticking toilet flushes and slow faucet leaks that had accumulated until we finally decided to call a plumber out to take care of them.  I searched and found Waterwork Plumbing on Yelp with overall very good reviews so I called them to set up an appointment.  We also found a $20 coupon on their website that we could use.  I was able to schedule an appointment for next day.

Chris arrived on time and I walked him through each room where the problems were.  He quickly sized up the several relatively minor plumbing issues and then tackled them one after another.  Some he was able to fix immediately and some needed parts.  Since we have Kohler fixtures and had previously found out that some of their parts carry a lifetime warranty, Chris made up a list of everything needed to finish the repairs and I contacted Kohler.

Many parts are under a one-year warranty that was long expired.  But certain parts like cartridges or valves have the Kohler lifetime warranty for replacement parts.  The customer service lady was extremely helpful and set up my order for the warranted parts as well as the other replacement parts I needed.

After about a week and a half, all of my parts were here so I called Waterwork to set another appointment to finish everything.  They were able to schedule within a couple days; I asked if Chris was available and he was assigned.

Once again he was on time and quickly completed each item so that everything was functioning normally again.  He cleaned up and then wrote up the bill that was reasonable for the amount of work he did.  Oh, and they offer a Veterans' discount to top it off.

I won't trust this company after I used them for my property sewer line inspection.

The guy was inexperienced and want to charge more just because he won't be able to get the job done correctly at the first place.

I hired another company and they finished the task in less than 10 mins and no major issues at all.

They just want to charge more by scaring the customer. Not professional at all my friend.

Outstanding communication and service! I had an issue with a bathtub pipe leaking. I filled out the request form online around 9AM, by 9:20AM I had a call offering a technician to come out between 11AM - 1PM, and then by 10:15AM I had a follow up call letting me know someone was available to come out in the next 20-30 minutes. Ken went above and beyond to not only fix the pipe but add additional reinforcements to prevent further issues. Thank you!!

After an initial mixup with scheduling, WaterWork got someone out right away to inspect my defunct water heater. They thoroughly explained the problem and advised that I install a new water heater. They were able to come out the next day and do the install. Unfortunately, there was a slight gas leak after installing that I noticed a day later -- I had to have consumers energy come out and check it after hours. The WaterWork guys came back the next day and fixed it. Overall, I was satisfied with the job but could have done without the inconvenience of the gas leak from the installation.

We recently had an extremely horrible experience with this company. The person I asked who was in charge Kim refused to remedy my issue with the laying of concrete over the sewer pipe. I asked her if she would simply send someone out to look at the very sloppy and uneven layer of cement in my house. She said it is a rough patch and it is supposed to be that way. I explained the people I hired as carpet installers and tile installers could not do the work because of the poor job of uneven cement. She still refused. I explained as a business wouldn't she want someone to review the work which I was explaining. Kim repeated that is what a rough patch is supposed to be like. I then sent pictures which she agreed to review. (See below) I had to call her back and asked if she looked at the pictures. She said she did and said it was a bad job but was not still not sending anyone out. I had to pay for another service to level the uneven cement in order to lay my carpet and tile. I was so disappointed that she would not be concerned with the poor quality of the work after I paid $5,700.00. The phone call was recorded as well so there is proof! Al Carter

Waterworks plumbing has been providing excellent customer service and plumbing repairs that I've needed at my duplex for many years now. It's nice to see a real professional group of plumbers tackling the job, or just doing the repairs that they've done for me in the past. They've been over a few times this year also. I highly recommend this company, they've got great workers and the scheduler does a superb job getting someone over to your house right away and their workers always  arrive in a timely fashion. Thanks!

Usually we shop around, but when I had seen a $20 off coupon in our parish bulletin (St. Anne's) and 4.8 stars on Google we decided to give it a try.  We called on Sunday, when they were closed and were not expecting a call back, but they did and set up for someone to come out next day.  We had Nico.  He was very knowledgeable, respectful, and kind.  He was able to fix our kitchen sink very quickly and answer all of our questions.  We had a lot!  Thank you so much for your quick service and attending to our needs!  I highly recommend them to anyone.

Chris saved our home renovation! Our first plumber was unreliable and Chris from Waterwork stepped in without missing a beat and did an excellent job finishing our project. He and the Waterwork office were always professional and reliable. Pricing was on the higher side, but not unreasonable for a reputable, home owner facing company.

Our project included a tankless water heater, installation of finish plumbing fixtures in a bathroom and kitchen and installation of a washer and dryer. There was a minor issue with the installation of our washer, which Chris came out promptly to correct the next day.

I would highly recommend the Waterwork team, and would use them again for plumbing needs.

They charge to come and give an estimate. That is crazy. How can you charge someone for something they may not even use you for. I will never pay for something without getting at least two estimates, to make sure I'm not getting ripped off.

I'm a business owner as well and I will do whatever it takes to make sure any of my clients or potential clients get what they need. Sometimes you can use technology to make this happen. I don't know how many virtual meetings or FaceTime calls I've made to make sure I understood what my customer needed. If your so worried about gas prices, maybe you should use other options to help your customer base. Not everything is about bottom line profits.

That's why I'll pass as well. Wish you the best.

I absolutely do not recommend this company for drain/sewer cleaning. I paid them $425 on October 5, 2022 because I had water back up on my first floor. I  was told it was from tree roots which had gone into my pipes. I receipt says recommend annual service. But on January 2, 2023, they had to come back for the same thing!!! I asked to see the video and was told it would be sent to me and that the cost would be $300. I paid it because I was skeptical since only three months had passed. I was told it was tree roots again. They charged me $846.30 (including holiday and after hours pay (10AM), plus 5% surcharge for using my credit card). I was told that they would need to come back with a larger grinder for about another $700! Three days later, I still don't have the video I paid for, making me question if they ever did anything the first time. Tree roots don't grow that aggressively in the fall/winter in three months! I hired another more reputable plumber ($225 including video which I saw on site). Calling the office only results in fighting with a rude woman. I will pursue WaterWorks through legal and regulatory channels. I absolutely do not recommend this company!! No wonder they have an F rating with the Better Business Bureau!!

Long story.... I called WaterWork out to address a backup in my basement. I've called them before and had no complaints with the service.  This time, however, they came out and tried to clear the line, and told me that I needed the line jetted, which they don't do. That cost me a cool $330!

So I called a company that does jetting, and they took a look and told me that wasn't what was needed, and that it would potentially cause more problems than not. Also, to my surprise, he did NOT charge me for the visit. I then called WaterWork back, and they sent a different plumber who basically told me the same thing about getting the line jetted.

I then called another plumber recommended by a friend. They came out and cleared the main clean out, which he accessed by moving the washing machine. Neither of the WaterWork plumbers did that. When I asked the new plumber how he knew that it might located be under the washing machine, he said that an experienced plumber would know to look there if it could not be located elsewhere.

He was in and out in less than an hour, fixed the problem and charged me MUCH less than WaterWork. I tried to get at least a partial refund since they wasted my money, but oh well. Silver lining is that I found a superior plumbing service that is also less expensive!

Post Review Update: I was prepared to let this go, but upon seeing the owner's review, I thought I should follow up. Yes, I submitted the review some time after the service was provided.

Within a day or so after WaterWork left, I called and spoke with a manager, frustrated because they sent two teams out, and neither one made an effort to clear the main clean out-- something the next plumber immediately came out and did, explaining that this should have been the first step. Had WaterWork done this, I would not have had to call someone to jet the line ( which they told me was not needed and a bad idea) and a new plumber.

The manager that I spoke with understood why I was frustrated that I had to pay two plumbers for what one should have done. I thought that I deserved at least a partial refund, and she agreed, telling me that she would see what they could do and would call me back.  She never did call back. I had a lot going on at the time looking after family, so it wasn't until much later that I came across the WaterWork receipt and realized that she never called me back.

I then called back and spoke with a woman who was an EXTREMELY belligerent. It was after that rude treatment that I decided to write the review. At that point I was prepared to wash my hands of the whole sorry situation.

HOWEVER, the next morning at 7:45am (what kind of business calls you that early), I received a call from someone at WaterWork asking if I would consider deleting my negative review, if we could settle our differences.

I said yes, not expecting to be fully reimbursed, but wanting to have some recognition on their part that they should have done a better job. She put me on hold, and came back and said that they weren't going to do anything after all.

I was stunned because it was THEY who called me! Not the other way around-- and at 7:45am no less. Plumbing issues aside, this company does not have a clue how to treat people. Buyer beware.

LESSON LEARNED: Don't hire these guys because of the rating--Read the reviews!

We contacted Waterworks plumbing because of their good reviews. We had sink knobs which needed fixing, a shower cartridge which needed replacement and a toilet flapper which needed to be replaced.

We asked the cost and he said $144 an hour. We were desperate--it's post pandemic we couldn't find any other available plumbers!

So, we began working on the problems right away. The gentleman fixed the sink fixtures and moved on to the shower cartridge. He attempted to fix it several times, but water kept shooting out and even created a flood on our first floor. He couldn't figure out the problem. He then contacted the 1800 number for the shower manufacturer...waited to get a human and then began trouble shooting the problem. This was another 30 minutes and still no solution. He moved on, replaced the toilet flapper and brought us the bill of nearly $700!!!!
No breaks, no money deducted...nothing. Instead just a new toilet flapper.

SIDE NOTE: While working on the problem, he received a couple phone calls from what seemed like his boss asking him his whereabouts and asking why he's late.  I sensed the gentleman's pressure after the phone call. I asked him if that was his boss, and he said yes.

The next day the sinks weren't working again. I called the company and a man named David answered the phone. I told him I needed our plumber to come out again because the sinks weren't working and he gave me attitude. At first he tried to schedule it for the next day because they were busy and I said our sinks aren't working!  He told me that he could send someone out right now.  I couldn't because I was leaving the house and told him I'd be back by 3 and to let me know if someone can come out then. He never called back--but the plumber did show up.

He fixed the issue and told me not to call back for this same issue--I told him we just paid nearly $700 for problems that are still not fixed!

I contacted Cregger Plumbing to assess the same problem. They came out, spent 3 hours assessing and reviewing the problem and charged us NOTHING!  They quoted us one price to fix the cartridge.

I never ever would work with Waterworks company again.
The only thing we got was a new toilet flapper for nearly $700! This company reeks of bad company ethic and leadership!

Love this place.  We've used Waterwork for years and every single service call has been a good experience.  They take the time to answer our questions each time, give us tips on how to avoid some issues, and they are super accommodating to our comfort level with pandemic safety.  They always manage to come out quickly even for non emergencies and their pricing is very reasonable.  We won't use anyone else as long as they're around.

Amateur ran, liars, and crooks. Charged me nearly $300 to clear a line that coded back up within a few weeks when the water was not even being used. I called and told them I'm not satisfied with the job done since I paid $300 and nothing has changed, and the person on the phone told me they can come back out for $165 an hour. They also Charged me $90 to replace ONE TUBE on the back of a range that took them 5-10 minutes. I found the same tube online for $15.

Never using their service again and don't recommend it to anyone. They market themselves as cheap service but really they're ran by inexperienced workers who only care about making a quick buck. Terrible!!

Edit: I was not given pricing up front for the tube replacement. I was told it was an easy fix that would take 10 minutes. There was no draining for over a month with no issue because no one has lived at this property until this week and the first time the drain is used, it's clogged! This company would rather spend their time on yelp, defending their bad work, than calling me directly and trying to fix the problem they've created. Never use them, they're more interested in having a good online reputation than actually having satisfied customers. My comments withstand and the owner would not even get on the phone to speak with me. In a cowardly act, he would rather have the receptionist speak with me when I asked to speak with him. But it seems he has all the time in the world to respond online - where others can see. Pitiful.

Great to work with!

It's hard to say what's a good value these days. A friend of mine is out of town and the drains in his rental backed up. I tried to snake with no luck and the plumber came out the next morning and charged me $180 (which my buddy will pay).  This seemed high but given the responsiveness it was okay. I was told the minimum would be $150/hour.

They resolved the issue and the renters are satisfied; therefore, I am satisfied as well as my buddy. Also, they called me and told me what we could to do fix the issue next time it happens so I am grateful for that. There is a backflow preventer which stops storm drain water from coming in; it had stick shut recently due to flooding outside. They said I just have to reach down the clean out and unstick it. I won't do that because it's gross, but at least I know.

Worst company I have ever dealt with. I  used them regularly for about 5 years and the service is just terrible. They came to snake my drain less than two months ago and my drain is backing up again. THEY FOUND A GOLF BALL IN MY DRAIN - I DONT EVEN HAVE GOLF CLUBS. They offered no help - never owned up to their mistake and refused to help us in any way. The owner of the company wouldnt even get on the phnoe and have a converation. Sent his gatekeeper instead - who is about as good as comcast customer service agents.

Read the reviews - do not hire this company. I wish I could give 0 stars.

The owner gives a perfect review to his service below!

I brought Waterwork so they can bring to code my gas dryer set-up so I can install a new dryer. Over the phone, we were told that the time spent providing a quote would be discounted from the final cost of the work if we chose to go with Waterwork.

When the plumber came and provided the quote he said he can complete the work the same day if needed as it was a pretty quick and easy job.  Unfortunately,  Waterwork refused to discount the time needed for the quote. After the work was done, they told me they would have discounted the ~$100 dollars for the quote, if the plumber quoted me today and came back another day to complete the work. But because he did the work same day, I had to pay that extra amount.

Makes no sense. I am disappointed that WaterWork choose to make a quick buck rather than do the right thing and discount the quote charge.  Because of this sleezy sales tactic and poor customer service by the main-office, I wouldn't use or recommend this company.

I have used Waterworks twice during the COVID-19 pandemic. Once for a toilet that quit working and once to fix a leak in my shower. Both times the men who showed up were timely, professional, and cognizant of safety precautions. Both were very honest with me about what needed to be repaired. Both did their best to perform the work in the most cost effective way. They always have the tools and supplies needed for the job, and there is no going back and forth to the shop to get what they need.

Waterworks is much more expensive than other plumbers in the city, especially plumbers that work for themselves. But you get what you pay for. I know I can relay on waterworks plumbers to show up on time, be respectful, get the job done, and explain exactly what is happening every step of the way.

I highly recommend Waterworks.

WaterWork Plumbing charged me over $600 for what amounted to a problem diagnosis, and then told me me that they can't fix the problem and to go elsewhere! I hired WaterWork to fix a sewer line clog at my property. They visited the property, scoped the line, and performed a cabling on the line. They admitted that they could not clear the clog, gave me a bill for over $600, and told me to hire another company. Really?! The problem still exists, and they want over $600! I'll pay for someone's effort and diagnosis, but these guys are plumbers, not brain surgeons!

Update:

The owner response below is a lie! Waterwork Plumbing was not able to determine if the line was in fact broken, as they could not even open the clog in the line (what I paid them to do). I approved payment for opening the clog in my line, which was never completed. Had Waterwork told me up front that they might not be able to open the line, I never would have hired them.

Further, the owner response below states, We gave him options for a permanent fix but he opted to not to proceed. The only option given to me was to call another company, since WaterWork can't do their job. I have called another company, a professional company, and I will proceed with them. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! I SUSPECT THAT MANY OF THEIR POSITIVE REVIEWS ARE FAKE.

Update #2:

WaterWork Plumbing continues with their blatant lies! The owner updated their reply to my review stating, It's interesting to note that most of Johnny's reviews are one star. Does everyone he does business with give him poor service or is he the common denominator? Reader, please take a look at my reviews. Mathematically, most of my reviews are 5 star. FACT. David G. is clearly a liar. I'm happy that you, the reader, have clear evidence of this now.

I called Waterwork plumbing to replace my gas water heater because it was leaking at the bottom of the tank. They told me that they charged  $144 per hour. When a guy came and checked the heater, he insisted that nothing is wrong with the water heater and water is coming out of the furnace. I showed him even the spot where the water was coming from.  Despite that, he insisted that he has 23 years of experience and the water heater is all good. He wrote the same on the receipt. He charged me $ 95 for 20 minutes of work and left.  The water is still leaking from the water heater. I have to find another company to take care of it. Some advice: never hire a company that charges by an hour and clarify the terms before hiring a company. I will never recommend this company. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau also. BBB has given this company an F grade. Sometimes it will ask to call them to resolve the problem, but when one calls, it will ignore the call and will never respond. Do not waste your time. Stay away from this company.

I wish I could give them minus 100, but be aware they are very unprofessional and unreliable.

I wanted to leave a glowing review of my experience with Jeff at WaterWork Plumbing for coming out on a Saturday to unclog my shower drain and fix my kitchen faucet. Not only was he super kind, professional, and helpful (he explained what he was doing and gave me tips on how to avoid similar problems in the future) but he also went above and beyond by offering to inspect my pipes for free and educating me about the plumbing system in my house. He was also very respectful of my situation as I have a pregnant wife with severe morning sickness and he did his best not to disturb her. I couldn't recommend Waterwork more highly, and if you happen to get Jeff out to your house, I can assure you you'll be in great hands.

We have used Waterworks plumbing for two different issues at our home.
The first time, the plumber was great and he fixed the problem. The second time we had a small leak in a pipe in the ceiling and we may need a shut off valve added at an additional point in the basement.  The plumber came and worked on the leak, I was on the phone with my husband who was at work since he set up the appointment.  I told the plumber that it was getting close to the time I needed to leave to pick up my daughter from school.  He said, no problem do you want me to just write an estimate for putting the valve in instead? This was all he said about the estimate, no further details.  I said yes that's fine we can tackle it at a later time.  When he gave me the bill he outlined what was on it and added and $95 for the estimate.  I asked for clarification and he was very irritable and said estimates cost $95, you get it off your bill if you have the work done.  I admit, I should not have paid it. However I was on the spot and I had to pick my kids up.  We realized within 24 hrs the leak he did repair still had a drip so it would have to be fixed again. The first time we called to ask about the estimate charge we were told we will look into it and get back to you - never did. We called to talk to a supervisor to discuss the $96 charge as we felt we should have been told there would be a charge for an estimate, especially when it's almost $100 and the plumber was there for work we were paying for.  They refused to let my husband speak to a manager or owner.  They finally told him they would refund the $96 but only if we agreed to not mention the experience on social media.  They then sent the email pictured. Even though this clearly isn't a binding NDA, it's shady, really shady.  I came to find out at the BBB website they have a D- rating even though their online reviews are decent - probably because they do this on the regular to prevent people from giving them reviews they don't like.
So, my husband and I decided they could keep their $96.  I would rather give them honest reviews online, let the community know when they were dealing with a female homeowner they charged hidden fees and then behaved as if they were put out to intimidate them when they questioned it and wanted to keep their irregular billing a secret from prospective customers.

If a plumber installs a drain line and it leaks the next day I expect them to come back and fix it without charging me. Apparently that's now how this company does business. Lost a longtime customer over $144.

I have had Waterworks out several times due to flooding from a broken watermain and flooding in my basement.  I had to have my gas line replaced, my hot water heater restarted, and I had a new faucet put on my wash tub.  I also had them out to plug a pipe that was not sealed after the bathroom vanity had to be removed due to water damage.  Every time I've called them, they came out quickly, did the job well and only charged what they had to often giving me a break if it didn't require much time.  I've had them out to clean drains before the watermain break and every time they were fast, efficient and super friendly.  Even the receptionist is wonderful.  She is always helpful and polite.  I will continue to use them because they have always treated me fairly, explained what they were doing and even told me ways to prevent certain reoccurrences.  A very good company

Update 05/16 10am:

What initially caused my frustration was the lack of communication regarding the quote as a worse case scenario and then the final bill is $240 higher than initial quote.

My frustration now is about how the office handled this situation. They made me an offer of $100 to remove the reviews immediately, I thought about it and what is $100 to me may save other people a ton more money by choosing a more honest business.

And the statement is correct, let's agree to disagree. I disagree in how you think it's ok to mislead a customer, and disagree in how you handled the situation.

Readers will judge this on their own, regardless of what happened - name calling a customer in a chat is beyond unprofessional.

Judge for yourself!

**Update 05/15 6pm

This is unfortunate - I'm not sure how to add to my previous review... but I want the general public to be aware of the follow-up conversation I had with WaterWork Plumbing.

Decide for yourself if this is a type of business you want to trust paying top dollar for 'professionalism'?

See photos attached for our conversation recap regarding two phone calls I had with their office.

**** BELOW IS MY ORIGINAL REVIEW
Be very cautious if having to use this business and get the costs upfront and check with the plumber along the way. Unless you have a blank check you'd like to write.... They will give you an estimate at the beginning of work that is communicated to you as a worst case scenario and then present you with a bill that is much higher. This just happened to me and the final bill was much higher without running into anything that we weren't anticipating. All straight forward so you'd expect the bill to be, no certainly not. On top of that, added 5% fee for credit card. Called their office, certainly no help from there either - not even a dollar which was besides the point, the point is how you go about doing business.

I usually use Cregger Plumbing in Ferndale and should have stuck with them, they'd never conduct business this way.

Do not use this company!  The don't understand good customer service and will not correct problems they create!!

The waterwork plumbing technician just left the house.  He was here to fix a leak under the kitchen faucet.  We supplied him with new water lines to install to correct the leak.  He replaced the hot water line and then told us the problem was a leaky faucet (not the water lines).  He did not replace the cold water line as he said it wasn't necessary.

Once he left, I checked under the sink cabinet and noticed that the leak was much worse.  Water was cascading down onto the cabinet floor.  The water line that he replaced was leaking a lot!  The original cold water line was also leaking very slightly (even though he said it was fine).  I also checked the upper faucet lines and noticed there was no water leak at all from the faucet.  The technician did a terrible job and didn't know what he was doing.  We paid him for NOT fixing anything!  I actually had to tighten the connections on the water line myself to slow the leak.   The one he just installed!!

We called the waterwork office to ask them to come out again and fix the leak issue.  They told us they'd have to charge us more to come back and install the cold water line.  When we mentioned that he didn't fix the leak that prompted us to call them in the first place and then actually made it worse by not properly installing the other water line, they argued with us and still said they would need to charge us more to come back out and install the second water line.  Something he could have done during the first visit.  We then asked for a refund since he didn't fix the issue and created a bigger leak.  They actually said no.  Unbelievable!

Overall, I strongly recommend you do not use this company.  Instead of waterwork, it's more like waterdoesn'twork!!  Perhaps they should rebrand themselves.   Customer service is my business and I understand what it takes to please customers and build a business.  Waterwork doesn't care or understand.  Really poor showing guys!

I've used waterworks for years. And have been satisfied for the most part. This last time we were totally dissatisfied and the owner had a too bad, so sad attitude.

We have major sewer problems, which is how we are so familiar with plumbers (unfortunately). So far, no plumber has ever proved what the issue is... under the house, in the yard, $1500, $8000. On and on.

In September,  we had a snake -$150. In December it backed up again. This time we had the expanding snake and video treatment -$550 but came with a year warranty. 2 weeks later it backed up again. They charged us another $145. Wait...what about the warranty?... They totally didn't uphold it and when pressed for a video were caught in multiple lies.

Now we are in a major dispute over a warranty they didn't uphold. I totally regret sending business their way (and I've referred them A LOT) because they don't stand by their work. I believe we've spent well over $3000 with them and they ruined the relationship over $145. What greedy jerks.

Here's the bottom line, if their fix works then great. Read my prior reviews. But this time the fix didn't work and the owner/office staff as it turns out, is a total liar and a jerk who did faulty crappy work. Historically speaking based on other poor reviews, the owner is probably going to fire off an accusatory response. But as seen in my many prior reviews I was a happy customer once upon a time.

Never. Never. Never. Again.

During floor installation in our basement, the water inlet pipe cracked and quickly began flooding the area. After getting the city water department to shut off the water, we contacted WaterWork Plumbing the following morning after placing several calls to plumbing contractors in our area and leaving messages, but WW was the first to return our call.  We spoke with Tanya, and explained the issue. She scheduled us for a repair within 3 hours. The technician (Mark) actually showed up early and got immediately to work. He was friendly, professional, and thorough in his repairs. I thought their pricing was fair given that it was the weekend, and they were able to get to our job quickly.  I would not hesitate to recommend them to friends.

I tried to get a quote from these guys for a new water heater, per a recommendation from the Inside-Outside Guys website. I am very disappointed in the overall experience. In a nutshell:

- I was told over the phone that it would be $95 for someone to come out and give me a quote...I'm not used to paying for a quote, but fine, nobody's time is free

- 'Arnie' showed up on time, which was good, but didn't seem to know the basics about the type of water heater I wanted (electric heat pump). They're not common around here, but they're a huge slice of the electric water heater market right now nationally, so you should at least know of the product. I had to spend 5 minutes looking up pictures on my phone to show Arnie.

- The room where my water heater is has some space restrictions, and my furnace is in there two. Arnie said, as does the quote I received, that it's possible they could damage some walls and HVAC ducting trying to remove the water heater. That alone was a red flag...you shouldn't be telling this stuff to a prospective customer.

- I live at the top of an 8-story building, and for some reason, Arnie insisted on going back downstairs and out to his truck to prepare the quote. That's fine, except...

- When he came back in and we settled up, I was told the new charge was $144. Turns out the $95 was for the first half-hour, and we went 9 minutes over. Well, 5 minutes was spent 'teaching' Arnie the basics of what I wanted, and another 5 minutes was spent unnecessarily going back out to his vehicle to write up the quote.

I wasn't going to stand there and argue with someone over 50 bucks (especially since I was still considering their business at the time), but there's no reason it should cost nearly $150 just for someone to give a cost estimate for replacing a water heater. No actual labor was even involved! Of course, they tell you that they'll take that amount off the final job, except you have to go with them for the work...

More than a week went by without any final numbers. I got a very short call from Arnie a few days after his visit, which I attempted to return, but never heard back again. The day that I was going to call their office and ask for my money back, I receive a quote by email...not from Arnie, but their office manager. No details as far as make or model of the water heater, plus it's $1,000 more than the quote I received from the other plumber I contacted. And it didn't include the cost for a permit - required in the City of Detroit (although many people don't get one, I am not okay with a licensed contractor skipping this step). I responded to the email with questions on the specifics, but again...no response.

At this point, I'm done with these guys, and my trust in the Inside-Outside Guys' recommendations has taken a big hit. I haven't decided whether or not to ask for any sort of refund, but their professionalism and overall business practices leave a guy wanting.

As a result of a clogged bath tub I had to call a Plummer. Water Work had good reviews so I gave them a try. I was able to get someone out within 24 hours which was fine since it wasn't an emergency.

The Plummer that arrived was pleasant and friendly. He asked right away if they told me when scheduling that it would cost $165 no matter how long it would take. I was not told. He had the clog fixed in less then 15 minutes. He said that it's company policy to still charge $165. No breaks. He did run the snake down my bathroom sink as a courtesy.

I wish I could have rated WaterWorks higher based on the Plummer that arrived, but $165 is outrageous and should have been told about the cost from the beginning.

I'm updating my review after the response posted as none of it is true. I did not look for other plumbers as I was satisfied with the Yelp reviews. They did not have any plumbers available until the next day (Tuesday). I was not told of coupons. See the picture for my bill of $165.

I will be calling this business now as a result of misrepresenting my review.

I had a great experience working with the waterwork plumbing team member that arrived at my house to fix my garbage disposal.

They called me ahead of time to tell me that they could send someone out earlier than expected. Jeff arrived & was very professional and friendly. He walked me through the process so that I could understand every part of the work he was going to be doing & gave me a time frame. He got right to work & had my new garbage disposal fixed in an hour. As he was finishing up the work, he even gave me some helpful tips.

Loved having Jeff get the job done right, quickly, with a positive attitude & professionalism. If you're seeking someone to get this kind of work done, ask for Jeff when you call! He was incredible.

I have used WW for years and the work has been so so.  1 occasion, the toilet made a lot of noise when filling.  2.  Bad attitude by one of the plumbers. 3.   did not get back to me with a quote for a busted sewer line.  I was without water for days.  Contacted a different plumber and they came out the next morning and fixed the issue.  They came back and fixed my noisy toilet, sink and dishwasher at no extra charge.  I will NEVER use WaterWorks again; even though they are right down the street.

Not sure how well the plumber work but the front desk service and communications are definitely the poorest I ever had. It's weird that they will always change your appointment time if they were around and got time after the previous job. It is understandable that they want have more jobs to be done in a day, however, customers also need time to prepare for their coming. I had questions about charging for the rescheduled appointment, they just hang up the call and wouldn't let me finish my sentence. LoL.
I scheduled an estimate for 95 dollar on Monday which can be deducted form later service as they told me. Then they suddenly called me on Saturday morning said they are around and could be there in 20 min. On Saturday, I didn't have my sink ready, I thought it was an edit image. So we just took a quick look of my kitchen and they left in 5 minutes. However, when I have everything ready for later service, they told me that 95 cannot be deducted for later service because they did not provide an estimate at that time. The reason why it wasn't an estimate is because I didn't have all the materials ready.
Be really careful to ask them to do your work. You need to get everything ready before they come even you are not professional and you may have questions, otherwise they will charge you every time they drop by for 5 minutes.
Plus, the person who calls front desk need to be there before they can work, it cannot be your roommates or partners who have the same ID address with you.
Highly not recommend based on the short service I had with them. Not polite, not professional, not patient.

I had an emergency issue where the water had to be turned off at the street by the city over night.
I contacted WaterWork via Yelp chat and they responded right away. I had a plumber at my home within 45 minutes.
Don was great. Informative, professional, and reassured me that the issue wasn't as scary as I thought it was.

Hired them to install a dishwasher guy moved so slow... Took 2 hours! The old one was already taken out. All the plumbing was already in place. He just replaced the hose and leveled it. Rip off. $300 later..

Gave them a second chance to replace a tub faucet. Guy asked if I could try to find an O ring and replace it myself to correct the leak. Said otherwise it would take him 3 hours to install the new faucet and two handles I supplied to him. Made it sound easy. I got the ring replaced it and the diverter stick still leaked. It didn't even need the diverter function! Cost $150 for absolutely nothing.

Called them back he was gone for the day and they wanted to charge me to send someone else out!

Hired another plumber he came in and replaced the faucet and handles in under an hour. WTF waterwork you suck.

These people are AWFUL. My 80 year old father had a leak under the kitchen sink that was leaking straight through to the basement so it needed to be dealt with immediately. The woman he booked the appointment with ASSURED him that the plumber would be coming with all necessary parts to fix the leak. The plumber arrived and not only did not have the parts, told my father that he had to go and get the parts! I can't believe they would send a senior out to run around town looking for a part he would have no idea how to even find! On top of that, the guy walked away with a $95 service charge (for basically doing NOTHING). What a SCAM. People who deal with SENIORS in this way are SHAMEFUL!!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM ON ANY LEVEL

Top notch experience today - I had an plumbing issue with a backup of a kitchen line, and water and decomposing food in my basement.

Courteous and good safety concerns, and attention to clean safety (booties etc).

Good initial analysis.  Resolved the problem after a couple Of hours, and even took time to clean up the mess that was already there, which he didn't have to do but had a shop vac.

5 stars.  Couldn't ask for more.

I called to get my garbage disposal unplugged. Nico arrived within 15 - 20 minutes of my calling the office. He had a mask on which I appreciated and put on booties over his shoes so to not track in snow and ice from outside. He was friendly and professional. He took care of the issue quickly and cleaned up after himself. I've used this plumber before and Nico did the work at my house previously and remembered me. I couldn't be more pleased with not just Nico's work today but how responsive this company is every time that I call. I also find that there prices are reasonable. Was seriously concerned about a water stain on my kitchen ceiling, wracked my brain with all the possibilities that may happen, having to take out a loan because I couldn't afford the service, etc. I'm a single woman who owns her home and has lost income due to COVID, so I was STRESSED.

Don showed me exactly what was happening/what the problem was, and it only cost me $152....not the thousands I had imagined.

Also he loved on my dog, not a plumbers job, but definitely a bonus!  And he was so kind! I would definitely recommend (will update if I have any issues, but so far their high rating is definitely representative of their work!)

I had a leak from one of the pipes in my basement, I gave Waterwork a call and they were very nice over the phone and informed me of all prices, and added me to the schedule, that same day they sent out a very respectful guy named Dakota. I was very pleased with how clean and efficiently he finished his work and will absolutely use this company for any of my plumbing needs. 100% recommend then over anyone else!!

It is a shame when a business owner works harder to discredit bad reviewers than to fix problems.  You cannot have perfect reviews everytime, yet to have every bad reviewer be wrong is just as impossible.  My first review was 2 stars to give them a chance to respond with integrity.  Their response instead was to attack me.  We needed multiple opinions on what to do with our plumbing problem.... It is apparent that they chose to be part of the problem rather than the solution.

Oh... Also I can assure you call was never placed back to me and a message was never left.

Paid 342$ for a job that did not bring any results. They snaked the WRONG way and came out my roof vent, which I was billed for. After the snake was on top of my roof for over an hour my 11 year old came in and told the plumber who had to go outside and untangle it. The next day my roof began leaking. I called and they decided it had nothing to do with what had happened. The part of the roof that was damaged has been replaced in the past few years, through my insurance company so there is proof. Whoever answers the phone just told me that they already decided that they weren't responsible and they were fine with seeing me in court. It's unfortunate that it will have to be handled that way. So much unnecessary hassle because they refuse to take responsibility.

Tanya, the administrative assistant was the point of contact who I mainly communicated with. Tanya communicated clearly and was excellent at following through. The paper work was provided to me in a timely fashion, the costs were transparent, and the plumber arrived within the time frame that was promised. Tanya is a professional, she listened and was understanding. Her involvement streamlined the entire process and made everything seamless.

Really disappointed with the recent experience with this company. We had been using them for the last few years, but after what seems to be some managing changes and expanding they have been a let down. They do not stand by work that they do. Such poor customer service when we called to complain about a spigot they had replaced in the summer of 2020 no longer working properly in spring 2021. My family always supports mom and pop services in our community, it is a shame WaterWork has lost its reputation since growing into a larger company.

Excellent service! Arnie and Jonathan did a great job! Very professional! They came went through the problem and took care of the problem efficiently! They walked us through a few things and were very helpful! We are even scheduled for them to call back later this week to replace our hot water tank and some other fixtures
Very happy with the customer service team who set up our appointment and with the timing in which everything was done! We definitely will continue to be using water works and recommending to others

I could not have been more pleased from the second they answered the phone! They made me and my problems a priority. The plumber came and arrived clean and courteous. He could have easily taken me for a ride financially but didn't. He was thorough and explained my problem simply. He went above and beyond. He didn't leave any mess and my issue was solved. I would recommend Water Work Plumbing even to my mother if nobody was there to help her negotiate. Clean, honest, reasonably priced, and on time. Truly unheard of in a services provider!

We had an issue with the temperature control valve in our shower, so I called WaterWork plumbing on a Friday at ~4 PM. A master plumber (Arnie) was there working on it at 9 AM the very next day. You can't ask for a faster turnaround than that!

The job ended up being much bigger than expected, but I am confident that it was fixed properly.

There were a few other small problems (dripping faucet) that were fixed while he was here.

The whole project took ~4 hours, and I was very satisfied with the price.

WaterWork is the premier plumbing company in the area, and I will definitely choose them again for my next plumbing needs!

Definitely worth all 5-stars.

I had water in the basement and the last plumber couldn't figure out where it was coming from! Nico got here faster than promised, took ONE LOOK and knew what was wrong. He fixed the problem, explained how I could easily and cheaply change the plumbing to prevented this from ever being an issue again and he left the area cleaner than he found it.
Nico is a great asset to an expert level team. Cost me less than I expected too!

Even though I ended not using WaterWork Plumbing, I feel I have to leave a good review because they were responsive and hassle-free when needed to cancel the appointment.
I had a backed-up drain in the basement, I called WaterWork Plumbing (during regular working hours). The lady that took my order was nice and she was able to schedule an appointment the next day. She told me that I will receive a phone call before the technician will arrive, and she told me about how much would it cost and under what conditions. The next day she called back telling me that a technician was able to come earlier than the initial appointment - which was nice. About two minutes later I realized I had to cancel the appointment. I called, they immediately picked up, and with no questions asked the appointment was canceled.

Yes, I left a review on Christmas but my holidays weren't ruined. Obviously struck a nerve with David though.  David, I just called but your secretaries won't give you the call. I had another plumber fix all my issues and they were very clean.  I think it is only fair for a refund as you did not do the job. At least let's talk one on one.  My experience with your company just keeps getting worse.  I'd hope you want to make it right.

We had a washer and gas dryer installation scheduled for Sat, 1/13, and needed our not-up-to-code gas pipe (copper) replaced, or else the install technicians would refuse to hook the dryer up.

We called WaterWork Plumbing on Thu, 1/11 to see if they could help us out. After mentioning our dryer install date, Debbie said, Okay, let's see if we can get someone out there before your install date without us even having to ask. It was great that she had that insight and wanted to make sure we were okay for our dryer installation. We were able to get an appointment scheduled for the next day.

Mark was our plumber and did an awesome job. He arrived within the appointment window with all of the necessary parts, and the work was completed within the estimated time (very efficient). He installed and secured trac pipe to replace the old copper pipe, and tested to make sure there were no leaks anywhere along the line.

Additionally, Mark took care of a slow drain issue that we've been having on our tub and sink, and helped educate us on what the underlying issues were.

We have no problem recommending WaterWork and will use them ourselves in the future for any issues or projects. The response time was fast, the pricing was fair, the work was done properly, and the staff was super friendly.

I am not sure how this business slipped by me to review...  I have used their services several times, but this past visit was the most informative from them.

We found out that there is a major root problem in our sewer line.  Of course, we knew this as it has to keep getting snaked out.

Anytime we need to have the line snaked, we will be sure to call WaterWork Plumbing. The staff is excellent and they do a great job.

We have an older home in Pontiac with a very challenging sewage-backup problem. We've already had extensive (and necessary) work done by a different plumber, but the issue refuses to go away. That plumber has already given us his next-step recommendation, but before proceeding, we called Water Work Plumbing for a second opinion. Their plumber was very thorough, knowledgeable and courteous, and recommended the extact-same fix as our first plumber. Moving forward, we will likely select our original plumber--his quote was substantially lower because he took into account expenses we've already incurred--but under any other circumstances, we would have been confident in awarding the job to Water Work Plumbing.

Based on our last plumbing experience which was to have a new gas dryer installed which included moving it from inside our garage to our interior laundry room, connecting the existing gas line and putting in a slightly bigger flexible exhaust venting system, Waterworks Plumbing beat the competition hands down in Price several $100 cheaper and their plumber dd a good job. We used to use another highly rated and good plumbing company and their quotes start to getting much bigger than before.  The take away is to get quotes from other highly rated licenced contractors. , especially if your favorite contractor's seems to be giving much more expensive estimates than before especially if you are comparing licence contractors to other highly rated contractors.

We had our plumbing installed by WaterWork Plumbing on a new construction home.  We paid them in full in the amount of $8,950.  Then they installed a water heater in the amount of $1,700 without approval.  To make matters worse, they charged my credit card on file without my authorization.  I called the office to resolved the issue because this is not even the water heater that the owner wants and the office manager is extremely rude.  She keeps hanging up on me and refusing to give my information to the owner to call me.  She is also refusing to order the inspection, which they are responsible for ordering.  She says they will not order inspection until they are paid in full, but they are paid in full, except for the $1,700 that was not approved for the water heater, which we are now trying to dispute with the credit card.  This company is run by an extremely unprofessional office staff that has left us in a very difficult and stressful position.

Update to respond to the owner who refuses to contact us.  We never received two quotes for the heater.  We didn't even receive an invoice for the heater...your staff ran our credit card without even calling to authorize.

I was at the house today.  It's very unprofessional to make such false accusations.  David, you have been given wrong information by your staff.  It's rude to hang up on your customers while they are talking and that is what your office staff did.  It is also my right to write a review on yelp if I have been treated poorly as a consumer to warn other consumers.  I wish I would of read the one star reviews before hiring your company to do the job.  We deal with a lot of companies but we have never come across this treatment.  My other reviews are for restaurants or nail salons, nothing serious like this.

The heater was installed while my husband Christopher was out of town without his approval.  Christopher is still waiting on a call from you.  He will post his own review with the supported documents if needed.  It's so childish to have to communicate to the owner through yelp.  As the business owner, you should care to speak to your customer to try and resolve a serious issue.  Do you think it's wrong to make a charge on a credit card without authorization?  I hope so.  Then you should call and speak to your customer and not resort to unprofessional threats that were made by your office staff.

This was the first time I've ever needed to call a plumber, and was semi hesitant with who to go with, given I'm new to the area. I was very happy with Waterwork when I first used their services after buying an old house in Detroit over two years ago.  The experienced plumbers on their team really know their stuff. They replaced the broken stack, routed the tree root clogged external sewer pipe, and more. I was very grateful: my heroes!
But I stopped using them after it took multiple requests to get them back out for a bathroom and kitchen remodel estimate (there were serious communication issues with their office personnel). When I did finally get an estimate, it was so disappointingly high, I used another company.
But I called them again last week after another tree root issue that a routing company failed to solve. Again, great work from Waterwork. While here, the WW Plumber and I then looked at and discussed a couple of basement pipe projects and ballpark costing. With renewed confidence in WW, I called yesterday for a formal estimate so I could plan my budget.
The admin person who called back in the afternoon could not have been more condescending and wanted to charge me $95+ to send out another plumber to look at the projects, which she insisted was outside work (replacing the outside pipe that my tree roots keep invading) --even though I had diagrams drawn by the plumber who had just been here.
I then wrote the office with photos of the broken basement pipe issue and the plumber's diagram, and to call them out on their rudeness (and mistakenness).
Instead of just apologizing, the OMgr responded I should use another company. Which,  of course, I will.
--In short, good plumbers, though very pricey for some things. But there are serious administration issues at WW if you need any ongoing, helpful customer support. -- Something is seriously amiss there.

I postponed replacing my gas hot water heater due to the Coronavirus pandemic.  In April the dip tube in the hot water heater may have cracked, as we ran out of hot water after two showers.  I knew I had to eventually replace the hot water heater.  So in May I got quotes to replace it from 3 local companies.  I planned to replace it when pandemic subsided.   Then last Saturday the water heater stopped working.  I knew what it would cost to replace it.  The challenge was finding someone on Saturday to replace it the following week.  I called the local companies (none were open) and then expanded my search.  To my surprise, when I called Waterwork Plumbing at 11am, they were open and could replace it the same day!  Two hours later Ken and Nico from Waterwork Plumbing were at my frontdoor (with masks), and were done in 45 minutes.  They were very careful removing the old hot water heater and installing the new one, took all trash with them, and I noticed the inside of their van looked like the plumbing department at Lowe's.  Ken and Nico likely could have handled any challenges installing a new hot water heater.  They seemed very experienced doing installations.  And I paid about the same as the quotes I got in May.  In 26 years I have replaced the hot water heater in this house 3 times, each time with a different company.  This by far was the best experience.  I strongly recommend Waterwork Plumbing.

It's 12:30 pm on Saturday 10/8/16. I'm looking for a plumbing service and decided to browse the reviews on Yelp. I read one of the bad reviews. The reviewer was upset that the company charged $95 for an estimate and said they took their $5K job to another business. The manager/owner/employee responded to the review. He said they take bad reviews seriously, and it's a shame the reviewer would tarnish their reputation by stating that they don't offer free estimates. The company representative said, Call _______ for your free estimate.

So I decided to call that number - right now - and see if I can put this free estimate controversy to bed. A woman answered. I told her my issue. She said it would be $95 to schedule an appointment to have someone come out.

You absolutely and unequivocally do NOT offer free estimates, and you just tarnished your own image by telling a blatant and bold-faced lie.

Late in 2020 we hired WaterWork Plumbing to replace a water heater. In this review I do not comment on the work, but only the payment method.
The price of the work itself is $1346.63. We payed by credit card, and were charged additional $70.87 credit card processing fee so that the total is $1417.50.
Both the amount ($70.87) and the percentage (70.87/1346.63=5.26%) of the fee are unusually high.
Even worse, we had been informed of neither the amount nor the existence of the credit card processing fee before they charged our credit card. If we had known this fee, we would definitely pay by other methods to avoid it. Thus, WaterWork Plumbing did not obtain our full authorization for the total amount of money they charged on our credit card. In general, a service provider should inform the customer all types of fees before charging the credit card, rather than surprise the customer with hidden fees after charging the credit card.
After we became aware of the credit card processing fee, we called the WaterWork Plumbing customer service. In the phone call, we clearly explained the issue (as written above) and emphasized that we had not been informed of this fee before our credit card was charged. To show our constructive attitude towards resolving the issue (although it was not our fault), we were and are willing to change the payment method by sending them a check of $1346.63 while having them cancel the credit card transaction of $1417.50. However, the agent answering the phone declined our request of reverting the credit card processing fee.
Since the issue cannot be resolved by private communication with WaterWork Plumbing, I feel that it is important to bring it to the public so that future customers do not fall into the same trap.

==========

P.S. WaterWork Plumbing has high rating (currently well above 4 stars) on yelp. This may be misleading for the reasons below:
1) The numerical rating shown on yelp is calculated across all years. If we only count recent reviews, since Jan. 1, 2020 WaterWork Plumbing receives 21 five-stars, 0 four-stars, 1 three-stars, 0 two-stars, and 11 one-star. The average is only 3.6 stars.
2) I encourage you to read the content of the reviews (not just the numerical rating), especially the replies by the manager of WaterWork Plumbing to one-star reviews. I am not in a position to and do not comment on these replies, but you will have your own judgement on whether these replies (i) are polite or disrespectful (ii) are helpful or useless towards resolving the issue (iii) respect or try to deny facts. In business activities disputes are sometimes inevitable. When disputes occur, WaterWork Plumbing may well treat you in the same attitude as their replies to one-star reviews.

Arnie and Anthony came in around 9am and stayed until almost 9pm doing a rather challenging bathroom plumbing addition and just blew me away with professionalism, kindness and knowledge. We were expecting that we would have to bump out the plumbing for the addition which we were prepared to have to hide down the road after the plumbing was complete but Arnie came in and figured out how to hide it behind the wall and was working with us and communicating the whole time. He ensured that all of our tasks were completed as we wished and made sure that we didn't have any issues in the future. They checked for leaks before they left and replaced a tiny pin hole making sure everything was perfect before they left! They also looked at our houses original bathroom and said that they would like to help us if we need help down the road and knowing this house there will be a good amount of assistance needed in the future. I can't say enough good things about this company. Also since time was of the essence they were able to assist us quickly and as mentioned spent all day here, were very clean and overall wonderful to work with. Arnie and Anthony are class acts!! I can't imagine anyone having a bad experience and I see the negative reviews and all I can say is who can't replace a toilet flapper on their own.

I highly recommend Waterworks.  Arnie and Jerry did an excellent job taking care of my sewer issues.  They were prompt, professional, and I'll be damned if they weren't honest as well (who knew that was something companies still value).  Our drains were cleaned in September of 2017 and they are still working great today.  The longest period we have gone in 3 years prior to Waterworks was 3 months without some clog or other drain issue popping up.

If you call, be sure to ask for Arnie or Jerry, they did excellent work!

I had a blockage in the kitchen drain pipe buried under the basement floor.  I called WaterWork in the afternoon, and in two hours a very friendly technician Patrick came, snaked the drain through the laundry tub sitting in the basement on that same pipe, and restored the flow. There was no camera inspection, no service fee, no separate charge for the inconvenience caused by that laundry tub hiding the normal drain's access point.  Just a plain drain snaking.

Prior to having this work done by WaterWork, I received estimates or opinions from two other plumbing contractors:

The first had the same price tor the drain cleaning portion of the job per se, but then inflated the price by 200% by adding camera inspection, a separate fee for removing the laundry tub (to get access to the drain), and -- attention -- a service fee.

The second contractor had a Drain Cleaning Special $85 advertised on their web site, but refused doing the drain cleaning claiming that the pipe under the basement floor was definitely broken and needed to be excavated and replaced.

They were a real help! We just moved into a new house and started experiencing annoying toilet issues-slow to no flushes and some backups. I called on a Monday at 9 am and they had somebody at my house by 1. His name was Chris, and he was excellent. Arnie from WaterWork Plumbing is the best! Our sump drain was not draining. Water just came out of overflow pipe onto the yard on the side of the house. Called several local plumbers. Either no one answered phone, or didn't want to deal with sump drain outside. WaterWork got a plumber (Arnie) out within two hours. Arnie arrived in company uniform, and a clean van, very professional! He wasted no time, checked out the situation quickly, gave me clear explanation what we could expect and what could be our options, all in professional and friendly manner, even with a few jokes thrown in. Then he went to work, snaking the drain. Again, he wasted no time and just non-stop working, even when he was explaining things to me while doing it. His work ethic and experience showed through how he did his work.  You can tell he is someone takes pride in his work. After almost two hours, snaking the drain three times with different attachments and camera inspection twice, we saw how different the inside of the drain looked like through the process. It was awesome! Again, Arnie is the best. I would definitely want to have him for all future plumbing work. I would give him 6 stars if that was an option :)

I called WaterWork when our sewer line clogged and backed up into the house. They were very friendly when I called and they informed me that the next available appointment was in the afternoon, but they'd try to get me in sooner.  The ended up coming a few hours earlier than promised which was a relief. Nico was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to assess the problem and he had it fixed in under an hour. I would definitely use WaterWork again in the future.

Very pleased with WaterWork.

Just moved to this area, so didn't know anyone and went with the community association's referral for WaterWork. Mark (?) from WaterWork came out within 15 minutes of my calling. He worked quickly to snake our drain and explained everything during the process. He also fixed a problem with our shower, without charging extra. About $150 to snake the drain, no charge for the fact that we can now take very hot showers (instead of luke warm), and fixed it ASAP - I would definitely call them again! We are so happy to be able to take a hot shower and have it drain :)

LOVE these guys! Great customer service, experts in their field, go out of their way to be helpful, and treated me with patience and kindness as I fumbled to describe the issues with very laymen's terms. After having previously dealt with a plumber that was a poor communicator at best and nefarious at worst, this is the only company I will ever use. Work is first rate and already more projects with them on the horizon.

I rarely write reviews but I had to write 1 in support of Waterwork Plumbing.  I called because I had a flood of water coming out of the faucet in my tub and no self help fix worked. Chris came out the next day, fix it without having to take off a tile from the side of my tub to get to the water, and even ran out and got the parts that I needed. The cost was far less than I expected. I could not be happier and I could not recommend them more highly. If you have any plumbing issue, this is the company to call

Ran into plumbing issues around Christmas Eve, just in time for the massive cold front leaking frozen and busted pipes everywhere. After determining the issue was going to need professionals, I called five local reputable plumbers (two of which never returned my call - too busy). Waterwork came out for an estimate within a day. When Mark showed up he was courteous (cover-alls for his shoes - something another plumber felt annoyed we even asked about) and thorough. He took the time to explain the likely situation, how it is caused, what he typically encounters and spent the time ensuring there would be no additional issues with use of toliets or wash tubs close to the busted drain line. He went out to the car, wrote up a quote and was on his way.

To be safe, I wanted to get at least one more quote as a price check and unfortunately had to wait four more days for another experienced and after the experience I had, surprisingly highly rated plumber. Fast forward a late arrival and a literal ten minute quote with no inspection of anything (Mark from WaterWork took roughly 45 minutes, inspecting multiple pipes and drains), the quote I had from WaterWork was comparable and I actually felt comfortable it was accurate.

We scheduled Mark and his helper, Chris who showed up on-time as promised. Even though I was at work, my wife felt completely comfortable with the team and appreciated the extra time he spent explaining everything he was doing. When all was said and done, the estimate was spot-on, no surprises and more than enough explanation of what was going on to make an accountant comfortable about a plumbing issue. Highly recommend the team.

TL;DR Version:

Friendly staff answering phones, prompt scheduling, show up on time, very thorough, accurate quoting, friendly staff, excellent craftsmanship. Would do business with again (but hopefully I never have to call again!). Absolute no brainer if you're in the Royal Oak/Ferndale area.

WaterWork Plumbing is a true, honest, and customer oriented company. Unfortunately I experienced water back up damage due to a clogged storm pipe and needed help. Previously 7 months prior, during a heavy rainfall I experienced the same issue and contacted Nelson Bro Plumbing. My experience with them was terrible, as they came and assessed the pipes and didn't make an effort to locate the storm drain, assess its patency, or find a cause of the damage. This left me with a flooded basement, no resolution, and almost $200 bill for coming to my residence. In fact, they didn't really seem to care if they did or did not resolve the problem.

WaterWork Plumbing, communicated with me the entire process. They seemed genuine of my concerns and wanted to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Even more so, they initially provided a 4 hour window of evaluation, but quickly came to my residence 1  1/2 hours later. They made sure to notify me of every change, name of plumber, and location where they would be traveling from. I was impressed.

When Jerry arrived, he was exceptional! Jerry was kind and considerate of our home. He laid protective covering to our stairs and carpets, and his footwear trying not to track dirt from the basement. He seemed knowledgable about the issue and attempted to assess the drain previously Nelson Bros did not want to even expose. Little did we know, this drain was the culprit and problem. Jerry made every attempt to un clog this pipe and was successful. Our basement flooding resolved immediately. Jerry took a unfortunate situation and made it a tolerable experience. What I admired about Jerry was even if he did not know an answer to a specific question, he spoke with other colleagues and gathered more information. This speaks to the collaboration and team orientation this company has to solving issues.

Would I recommend this company to others, absolutely. As a home owner, having an honest and trust worthy service in the community is hard to find. My inexperience with plumbing as with others, leave the potential to be vulnerable to plumbing companies making a quick profit. I did not feel this in any way with WaterWork. They did not push need to dig or break up my entire basement to fix this issue, or quote a ridiculous fee. If you live in Royal Oak or the surrounding areas, there is not another plumbing company I would recommend besides WaterWork.

Disclaimer: I am writing this on my own accord, there was no encouragement from the company, coercion, or discount for leaving a good review. It is my own honest opinion. I feel they deserve recognition for the service they provide.

I needed my hot water heater and gas line replaced and a reverse osmosis system installed. I received estimates from four companies. I liked the professionalism of WaterWork so I decided to hire them. Mark was the plumber assigned to my project. He was friendly, very knowledgeable, and took the time to explain why he needed to do certain things. He also asked my preference on aesthetics (how I wanted the faucet positioned, if I  wanted the hot water heater raised, etc.) - I appreciated his attention to detail. When he was done, everything looked great. His work was clean and professional. The total cost for parts and labor was less than I anticipated. Quality plumbing is never cheap, but I believe WaterWork's pricing was very reasonable. I'm a happy customer and will contact them for my plumbing needs in the future.

We needed two, very old spigots replaced and one of them moved.  We were stuck dragging the hose from the front to the backyard, it was such a pain.  I contacted WaterWork and they answered me the same day.  They sent Arnie out within a few days and he was great!  There were a few hiccups due to our existing plumbing, but the parts were ordered quickly and Arnie was back out as soon as the parts came in.  He wore a mask and was very professional.  We appreciate his level of service and efficiency.  We highly recommend the Waterwork team and plan on using them for future projects.  Also, they are very competitively priced; the cost was estimated upfront and there were no surprises when it came time to pay the bill, which is a huge deal with any home project.  Now we can get back to filling up the kiddie pool and turning on the sprinkler!  Thank you Waterwork Plumbing!

I walked down into the basement on a Wednesday morning and immediately noticed that the carpeting was soaked through. We had heavy rain over the prior weekend, and during that time our sump pump had apparently died. I called my wife, who checked her Angie's List account and sent me the top names. I called WaterWork Plumbing at 10am, and was quoted a window from 3 to 5pm that day. Around 1:50pm I got a call back from WaterWork saying that if I was at home they could get to me early. Ten minutes later, Jamie was knocking at the door.

He assessed the situation, showed me how and why the sump pump had burned out, and quoted me two options for replacing it. I had them install a model that they carried, total cost was $375 (Angie's List has the average cost of sump pump replacement at $442.) The job was done in about twenty minutes, and Jamie also gave me two recommendations for restoration companies who could check out the extent of our water damage and attempt to save our carpet. All in all the service was fast and professional, if I ever have plumbing problems again I'll definitely call WaterWork Plumbing.

A plumber came to fix leaking in the kitchen. He worked for 1.5 hours and charged almost $300. The pipes leak again in half an hour. I called them to fix it. Finally, they replaced a brand new faucet for me without extra charge. Good service.

This is our second time using WaterWork plumbing, this time for a new kitchen sink, faucet and waste disposal, along with updating some fittings. Mark and Kris did an amazing job especially given the old plumbing, fittings and odd configuration of a new sink cabinet. They had to extend the sink drain over from the main pipe and they did everything fast and professionally. The final work is clean and tidy and much lower profile than I thought given the drain extension. They were very friendly and I am extremely happy with the work!

This review is long but hopefully conveys my great experience with this company. I bought an old house in Detroit that I thought had been completely renovated, but apparently that didn't include the sewer line. Two months in I found myself in a terrible shituation, everything that went down the toilet started coming up the drain in the basement due to what turned out to be years of root growth.

I had three different plumbers come out to help, the first two assigned to me by my home warranty company. The first plumber was 4 hours late and couldn't find my drain cleanout. He snaked from one of the toilet cleanouts, which temporarily fixed issue, but said he felt something wrong with the pipe. He told me he'd need to come back with a camera on another trip for what I found later was a very high price. Made two appointments, each two hours before my work, and they no call no showed both and I had to cancel.

The second plumber was less late and found my cleanouts, but only opened one: found out later it was the storm drain cleanout. He cleared some roots but made a huge mess in the closet the cleanout was in, splashing crap juice on the window air conditioner that was stored in there. The shit literally hit the fan. I now have an unusable stinky pink eye machine if you're in the market. He also offered to come back out at another time and run a camera through, I declined.

Finally I called Waterworks based on positive Yelp reviews and they sent out Arnie, who was a drain wizard. The first thing you should know is that their appointment was at 9am and at exactly 9am they were at my door. Holy professionalism, did these guys actually show up when they said they would? I didn't have to call and speak to some clueless customer service dude wondering where the heck they were two hours later? Once they got in they immediately went to work, opening the actual sewer cleanout the other plumber neglected to open (it was in bad shape and had to be sawed off) and were able to recognize very quickly that due to the bend of the original (1939) model double trap that you cannot even run a camera or modern root cutting tools through this. He didn't need a camera to tell him what years of experience working on old Detroit houses told him. Arnie was an extremely straight shooter and clearly walked me through what they needed to do in order to fix this with the least amount of damage to my house, yard, and wallet. In this case, dig a hole in my basement and replace the trap with a modern trap so they could cut out the roots and run a camera from inside the house. I was given a quote and told that work would take 1-2 days.

The next week they showed up right on time again to do the repair with heavy manpower, I think 4 or 5 guys. They got the entire job, that was supposed to take 1-2 days, done in less than 8 hours. The trap got replaced, the roots got cut, and I got to watch the live camera feed after the root cutting showing a very thoroughly cleaned sewer. Was told there was about 20 years of root growth (found out from neighbors later that the last owner was an elderly hoarder who wasn't maintaining the house so this makes sense) and it took them almost an hour and a half to fully get everything out.You could barely tell there were roots after they were finished. Along those lines, you could barely tell they were there in my basement after they finished. They did a brilliant job of protecting my walls and floors from damage and cleaning up after they were done, aside from the freshly poured concrete you'd barely notice work was done. Best of all everything that leaves the toilet is now leaving my house!

They mentioned that they had to replace more parts than they originally thought, brace for wallet impact. Then at the end of the day I was charged...the exact quoted price. The. Exact. Price. He worded it around the lines of We went over expected cost but that's what I quoted so that's what I'm charging. That is some fantastic customer service. No nickel and diming, just straight up honest integrity.

Anyway, if you're tired of hauling shop vac loads full of bathwater and human feces out of your basement or have some other plumbing issue going on you should give these guys a call. They really know their crap and will tell you what's up and how to fix it quick at a fair price without a bunch of bullshit.

I'm just so happy I can flush my toilets again! In the words of Arnie, If you can't shit in it, you ain't got a home.

My particular issue was with a clogged kitchen sink. The plumber that was assigned to my home was Jamie. He did not hesitate for a moment to assess the situation and immediately got to work. What I had noticed in particular was that he used all up-to-date equipment from the snake mechanism to the electric hand saw he used to cut away some of the galvanized pipe of the trap arm that connected to the plastic slip-point coupling. He also had installed the appropriate fastener between the two. Jamie conducted his work in the kitchen thoroughly and cleanly, and also took the time to answer my questions. WaterWork Plumbing from this day (10/31/2017) forward, is my go-to plumbing service and am more than happy to recommend them to anyone!!!

I called Waterworks at 8:30am and Ken came over at 10am the same day. My kitchen sink was leaking into the basement and he found the issue right away... the head of the faucet just needed to be tightened to the hose - ha! He also replaced the valve on our water heater that had been leaking.

In and out in 30 minutes and all my problems solved cost me $169 - I'll take it! Thanks Ken & Waterworks plumbing.

Friendly very, knowledgeable, and honest. Arnie and Nico came out for a routine dewinterization which turned into much more due to poor workmanship by the previous owners of my home. Despite it being a Saturday they stayed past their allotted appointment time to ensure my plumbing was functional enough to enjoy my new home. Part way through the time, Eric came by to assist the other two and expedite the process. I was impressed that Eric took the time to stop by to assist on his way back from another job. They accomplished a very respectable amount of work for a reasonable price. They also gave me friendly advice on how to prioritize my costs moving forward and what future work to look for.  Thank you to all three of you for taking extra time to help me on a Saturday. These are plumbers who operate with integrity, no greater compliment than that.

Requested they come to my building to repair/replace three toilets.  Once they arrive we threw a couple more tasks at them.  They were very thorough and clean and made future recommendations.  Jerry, the technician, was a pleasure.  Whenever he had to go out to his truck I could see him almost running back and forth where many other plumber would do the usual saunter.  Towards the end of the day he need to have another technician come to assist, Arnie was friendly and took time to explain things he didn't need to.  Lastly, their rates efficient use of time were reasonable.  Would definitely use again.  Congratulations David G.

2nd floor master shower was draining slowly.  Looked up plumber on yelp and then Angie's List.  While I was reading reviews of this company, I received a call from the owner.  Scheduled a visit for same day and Nico showed up less than an hour later. We have used WaterWork Plumbing numerous times, and I never hesitate to call them when I have plumbing needs or to refer them to friends and neighbors. They are prompt, impeccably honest, and very fair in what they charge. We own a 82 year old home and sometimes when I get work done by other contractors, they make the problem worse before they ultimately fix it. This is never the case with WaterWork Plumbing. They have experienced employees that always seem to know how to solve any problems.

Around May of 2014, we had some backup issues at our Ferndale home. When the sump pump ran, water could not evacuate out the main drain as fast as the pump was operating, leading to excess sewage backing up the blowout system and eventually our laundry tub. Kind of gross, to say the least.

The WaterWork employee was awesome. I want to say it was Chris, but I am horrible with names and don't have the bill handy. Either way, she did an amazing job by quickly determining the problem, and not finishing until she was really happy with the results. She snaked the main sewage line not one, twice, or thrice, but about 7 or 8 times with various diameter snakes, getting rid of a ridiculous amount of tree roots and debris in the process.

After the first handful of snakes, we checked drainage and when it wasn't up to snuff, she snaked again, checked the flow, snaked again, and didn't stop until the flow was as speedy as she thought it should be. Then she cleaned up the area she was working in to the point you would've never known she had been there.

In the fall of 2014, a huge amount of water hit the Detroit region, and our drainage system was put to the test. Despite the sump pump running with incredible frequency, it was able to steadily and reliably pump all that water out to the main lines, and we didn't get an inch of water, even as our neighbors with basements suffered severe backups. I can say without hesitation that Chris saved our basement from flooding.

WaterWork is my go-to company for plumbing work from this point out. They are a real gem to have in this community.

Beware of the plumbing company!   i had a leaking shower in my finished basement. they sent ryan out, he told me i needed a part that wasn't in stock & he would order it.  3.5 weeks later I called them looking for an update bc black mold began to grow on the walls near my shower due to the excess moisture from the leak.  they sent ryan back out, he patched the job.  3 weeks after the patch, the hot/cold suddenly was stuck in the On position with no way to turn it off.  i called the company and they sent a late night emergency tech out to shut off the water, i was charged Again for what should have been a warranty issue.   they promised to send someone out within days,  after 3 calls over the next 2 weeks,  ashley (i think that was her name) tells me to find a new company to do the job bc they can't make me happy and they refuse to refund me what i had already paid.
worst company i've ever dealt with!   it's unfair,  i paid every bill they sent my way and they leave me hanging with a broken shower and $400 poorer.

Mark responded very quickly when I posted a job on Angie's List, showed up on time (actually a little early) and was very helpful and efficient. The job I posted was for changing a water supply line to allow a new vanity to be installed.  In addition to that work, Mark assisted me (or I should say let me assist him!) in completing the vanity installation, including additional plumbing work and general installation.  Without Mark, I'd still be trying to install the vanity.  Also, the charges were reasonable in light of the time spent and materials provided.

WaterWork plumbing exceeded my expectations in every way.  Long story (see the tl;dr version below).
---skip this section if you don't need the background of what happened with other companies today----------------------
I had a dishwasher delivered by JB Hunt that I purchased from Costco a few weeks ago.  JB Hunt actually helped me out by uninstalling  my old dishwasher (I was supposed to do it but I didn't feel qualified as it involves plumbing and direct-wired electrical). I'm telling you all this to set the scene of what WaterWork did for me later in the day.  JB Hunt was supposed to install my dishwasher but they said they had a rule that if the floor under the dishwasher was lower than the main floor they weren't allowed to do it.  I was grateful they uninstalled and hauled away my old dishwasher so I said, ok.

I had a plumber coming out later to fix my toilet, run a new water line for a new refrigerator, and uninstall my dishwasher (Costco originally said I wouldn't get my dishwasher until after 3/18 so that's why the plumber was scheduled to uninstall after JB Hunt). Turns out JB Hunt had it and this was the only Saturday they could deliver and only from 8-11 (they arrived at 9:15).  I texted plumber asking if I could get dishwasher installed INSTEAD OF uninstall, fix toilet, and run new waterline). Plumber from Universal Plumbing arrives and proceeds to complain up a storm. It was actually funny looking back on it.  He said they don't do dishwasher installs on Saturdays, that it would take 5 hours (?!), and it wouldn't be cheap.  He eyeballed the dishwasher and the recently evacuated opening for it and asked me if I thought the dishwasher would even fit.  He went on and on about how he was doing me a favor to even come out on Saturday.  He said my house was old. He didn't seem to want to plumb in an old house, even with updated everything). Yes, it's 100 years old this year but electrical and plumbing all new in 2008). I booked the appointment two weeks ago and was told Saturdays were same as any other day and I wouldn't be charged extra.

I told him I'd pay the $39 for the service call and we could call it a day. I wrote the check and put aborted mission in the memo line. he said I could keep the check.  That was good.  I won't write up a bad review on Angies List now as it was a free complaining consultation.
--------------end of background section-------------------------

I went back on Angie's list and found WaterWork.  I gave them a call at 11:30 (they're open until 2PM) but never expected to get a same day appointment.  I can only do Saturdays so I thought it would be a week or two at least. The friendly person who answered said I could  expect someone from 1-3PM.  I was so happy. Around noon I get a call from someone else (maybe the owner?) asking if someone (Chris) can come earlier as they are one town over finishing a job.  Great, I said.  Chris arrived and he had the nicest manner.  Just what I needed after the last plumber described above. So far, so great.  Chris installed my dishwasher expertly. He also replaced all the innards of my toilet.  I didn't ask him to put in the waterline (he gave me a quote) as there isn't a rush because the refrigerator hasn't been purchased yet.

He put on booties over his shoes to go up stairs (much appreciated but not requested).  He handled my discontinued and oh-so-expensive toilet like it was Dresden china.

tl;dr:
Needless to say, I will have WaterWork plumbing out again to fix the rest of my pent up plumbing issues.  I will ask for Chris and wait until whatever Saturday he's working and in my area.  I'm way on the east side so I was surprised that WaterWork serviced my area.

While I appreciate their expediency and wonderful customer service, I also appreciate their coming to my apt even before the scheduled window, I sincerely dislike the fact that the technician walked in to my kitchen, looked down the basement stairs and said: I can't snake this it needs to be pumped out. It's $95 for the service call which will be deducted if we do the work. ...literally in my house less and than 4 minutes cost me $95.00. Guess what? Another company that didn't charge a service call and in addition gave me wise advise as far as the insurance companies go, that were out to my house before you, will reap the benefits of our insurance claim.

My drainage for my sump pump had stopped working and water would pool right outside my house because it would over-flow.  WaterWorks came out and tried to snake the pipes, but said it was clogged/collapsed and the snake would not work through the collapsed pipe.  They said it would need to be trenched/dug up.  I opted to attempt this myself but I needed the pipe located as to where to dig and fix the pipe.  They came back out with a camera and a locator and painted an X on my lawn on the approximate location and depth of the pipe and collapse.  I dug and sure enough, the pipe was exactly where that X was.  Not only that, but it was visibly collapsed right in that spot.  after I had the pipe exposed, I asked them to return to try and snake the rest out to be sure it was clear.  It was not clear and they told me where I would have to dig and what to look out for.  They also provided me a list of plumbing supplies I would need once the dig was completed and recommended a local shop. With their guidance and information, I was able to complete the repair.

I found them on yelp and they do indeed earn their highly rated reviews.  I could not be happier with the service/information provided.  The extremely fast turnaround was outstanding.

I appreciate it.  Thank you.

Called Waterwork after a citywide flood. As it was an emergency of sorts - I simply did a search and chose by virtue of the reviews.  It was a good move on my part.   Chris was sent to analyze and fix the problem  He was perfect!   He quickly identified the issue - snaked the main drain and gave advice as to servicing the basement drain, lit my water heater(s) pilot lights, and recommended annual maintenance.  Will make sure I set something up

Never again will I work with these plumbers! Extremely expensive and unwilling to work with you on finding the most reasonable solution. Wanted to charge you for every second they spend whether fixing your issue or not. They add extra costs when it comes to parts, by at least 50% over what they actually cost. Save yourself the hassle and find someone else.

I can not express my gratitude enough towards this company! I called them in a jam with major plumbing issues this morning. They gave me a 2 hour window which was later in the day... I could have waited, but that would mean repercussions for the business. They called 20 minutes after I made the appointment and said someone was on their way.

My plumber was Patrick. He was phenomenal!!! His customer service was A+, knew exactly what he was doing. Showed me and explained the problem, and recommended a bi-yearly maintenance. He also took care of some other minor plumbing issues for me. Thought I would kill 2 birds with 1 stone... done and done. Loved this company. Can't tell you enough how easy it was to make the appointment and the guy on the phone was wonderful as well.

We (my husband and I) called this company because we needed a couple of strong men to lift an extremely large (and old- 26 yrs?) from the basement to the curb. A lady I spoke with told me they could do it but it would be $144/hr or $288/hr for two men. I told her ok and she had two men show up the morning we scheduled for. They were able to get this super heavy item to the curb in about 1/2 hr. The men were polite during the entire time. The only reason I'm giving them 3 stars is because they wanted $288 for the 1/2 hr. I asked him why, and he said they don't prorate for the 1st hr. I told him that the lady I spoke with did not relay this information to me when scheduling the appt and going over the fee. I feel that information would have been very helpful. So when I went to write the check for their services, rather than writing it for $144.00 I had to write it for $288.00. Make sure if your job is less than an hour that you know they do not prorate for that time.

I called about my main drain in the basement back flooding. The woman I spoke with on the phone was very pleasant and advised me someone would be at my house around 1pm. Prior to the plumber arriving she called to let me know he was on his way (I really appreciate that). When the plumber arrived he went straight to work. As he was working the issue he kept me updated the entire time. He was in and out within an hour and now all my flooding issues are fixed! Great people, great work, and a great price ($165). I will definitely be using them for my future plumbing needs.

Great responsiveness, great communication, great technicians (Arnie & Jack) and reasonable pricing.  We have a very unusual system (forced sewer) but they understood and handled it without batting an eye.  I recommend Waterworks highly!

I had a leaky faucet and spent 2 days trying to fix it and then replace it myself. I wasn't getting anywhere so I decided to call an expert :)

I called at 9 AM on Tuesday, Becky answered and was so kind. Mark was at my house by 10:30 AM.

The job took a little over an hour but that's because a previous owner had done some pretty crazy stuff to the original faucet. My new faucet looks great and works perfectly!

Mark was nice and cleaned up when he was done. I'll definitely use WaterWork in the future!

$139/hour + parts - I feel like this was a very fair price.

What an amazing experience!  We called to set up an appointment for a couple of leaks in my son's basement.  Patrick arrived within 30 minutes of my call!!  He was friendly, knowledgable and efficient as well as very reasonable.  We had questions on possible future work and he was nice enough to give us an estimate while he was there -- all of this on a holiday weekend.  It is VERY hard to find reliable AFFORDABLE service these days.  I can't say enough positive things about this company and especially Patrick!!!   Thank you SO MUCH.  We will be customers for life!!!

Arnie and Larry were our last hope to clear the backup in our main sewer line. After our horrible experiences with other local plumbers we gave WaterWork a chance and i am glad we did. Arnie is an amazingly knowledgeable plumber who walked my wife and i through each step that he was going to take. He made sure we were comfortable with everything and took the time to answer all of our questions.

I would not hesitate to call WaterWorks for any of my plumbing issues and i hope they send Arnie and Larry back again.

I'm a first time customer. I found this company on yelp. They now have me as a loyal customer. They were true to their word on solving the problems (I had 3 & a 4th unexpected), showed up on the time promised, honest on their estimates and left my place clean when the job was completed. Also, the two people who did the jobs on 2 separate days, were courteous and respectful

Called Friday morning and scheduled and appointment to get my main line snaked for the afternoon, but let them know the earlier the better. Within an hour got a call they were on the way.

Called at 9pm and was greeted by a friendly lady who was able to fit me in the next day. I had water backing up into my basement. They called in the am to verify they would be about between 9-930. They were on time. Arnie and Jim were friendly and we're able to unclog the drain. I will call them with any plumbing needs in the furture. Thanks!

Came out on Monday after water heater dumped its lunch on Sunday (why always on a weekend?). Had a quote that they gave me and ended up on the lower end of it. The two guys were very polite, knew what they were doing, and our 90 lb watchdog liked them too. Were very careful moving the old one out and the new one in. I manage construction projects and work with a number of contractors. I will use this company again if and when the need comes up.

I had decided to go with Waterwork Plumbing based on these wonderful reviews I found on this site.  We had just had a home inspection and our sewer line was brought up as they couldn't get a scope through.  Waterwork Plumbing came in to do the job.  I spoke to the guy after and he said he cleaned everything out & assured me that he was able to get to the city sewer line.  He said I should be all set.  Now, unlike some services that you can check such as painting or landscaping, I had to trust that he really did complete his services.  They ran the scope again and while they were able to get through they did say the pipe wasn't fully clean.  Buyers decided to walk away and while this wasn't the main reason why, they did mention they did not like the fact that we cheaped out snaking the line.  I didn't think we were paying for cheap service so I chalked it up maybe them being picky or something else.

We got a second inspection this weekend and again they couldn't get through the sewer line.  It is now very apparent that Waterwork Plumbing did not do their job the first time.  I called them and explained the situation, hoping they would stand by their work and offer a solution.  It is now very obvious that they didn't complete the job the first time.  They said that because there is no warranty they cannot guarantee their work.  The best and only offer they gave me was a $600 service (3 times the original cost to snake the drain) to guarantee that that they fully snaked the line this time.  Obviously, it was hilarious to think that I would pay over 3 times the amount for a second service when they didn't fully complete the first one.

This company is not one who stands by their work or fixes an incomplete job.  I don't own a scope so I have to trust that when someone says that they have cleared my line... they have truly cleared my line.  I will be taking my business elsewhere and paying for this service a second time for something that should have been completed the first time.

Had the team out to look at my renovation and was provided a quote for approximately 9-10k for the work. They said a more accurate quote could be done when the walls were open. I had them back out after demo and even though I removed a big chunk of the work they still provided a finished estimate of about $9k. This was a complete waste of time and I feel they really didn't want the job. I guess if you need your toilet snaked or small jobs they are fine but any renovation work is completely outrageous.

Beware the undisclosed fee! They charge $95 just for the privilege of having them come out and regardless of whether they do any work. I ordered a sewer scope. Plumber was there on time, which: hurray. He tried to do a scope. Couldn't do it. He said, I've only ever been able to do a sewer scope once in this city; can't get the camera into the line on these houses because of the way the pipes are laid out. Which, it would've been nice to know that before they agreed to come out. Then he said, I still have to charge you $95 for making the appointment. Again, would've been nice to know that. No disclosure, no warning, no work = still $95. At least they let me use the $25 coupon off their website. I'm sure they do good work and know what they're doing, but still I can't help but feel ripped off.

Erik just left.  He arrived right on time (actually he had to wait 8 minutes for me).  He installed a new hot water heater.  Very polite, professional, clean. He assessed the situation, returned to the shop to get a new tank, removed the old one, installed the new one.  All under 3 hours. He explained how to use it and answered all my questions. I'm not sure how the price compared with others as I was stuck between a rock and a hard spot. I have used this company in the past and would highly recommended.

WaterWork is so good it makes you wanna smack your momma!  Okay not really, but their service is great.  I called another company - who shall remain nameless (Bisons) at 7:01 am as soon as they opened and schedule an appointment.  I was a given a 10am appointment - not a window of time but an appointment time.  At 1pm when they still hadn't arrived and I called back 4 times with no answer I called WaterWork and they got me right in.  I called them at 1pm on a Friday afternoon and Tony was there within an hour.  The receptionist was great and Tony was even better!!  Not only did he fix our plumbing issue but he told us some things about our Air Conditioning problem and fixed that too!!  Tony, now dubbed The Fixer fixed stuff he wasn't even there for.  Say What!!  This place is great!!

Four stars, two stars, one star - I guess.  Second update here.  First snake job=no change in symptoms. Was offered a full refund, but I chose to negotiate to try to get the job done versus starting another plumber hunt.  I took time off work, unpaid, so that these guys could come early in the morning to my home the second time.  Second snake job=no better than the first unfortunately.  This time I was the one to initiate trying to receive a refund since the owner, Dave, seemed to be a generous and reasonable man the first time.  When I was on the phone with him he was all of a sudden short with me, unwilling to compromise and mentioned seeing my reviews I wrote.  My review started at four stars for a quick response time and a guy with a good attitude showing up to my door, patient with all my analytical questions about their work.  I changed it to two stars after the secretary informed me that a refund was not being considered after $500 worth of work had been done with no relief of any issues, not even half a day's worth.  After our phone call, I'm changing it to no stars because his last words after telling me he saw my review were something along the lines of I no longer wish to take phone calls or do business with you in the future, I'm getting off the phone now.

Ironically enough, I initially called WaterWork Plumbing because of their good reviews on Yelp, and now, because I left a negative one, the owner just simply refuses to do future business with me.

That's how this business owner wants to handle an unsatisfied customer instead of being persistent about making it right for them?

DISCLAIMER:  My review is my personal experience.  No implications of this happening to you are being given and your mileage with their level customer service and your resulting satisfaction may vary.

I really want to give this company a chance, I really do, but I have had several disappointing experiences since first using them in December. I have left several messages for the owner to call me, since December, and he has never returned my calls. The plumbers, though very nice, did not seem to know what they were doing when they first visited my home. More experienced plumbers had to be called in, which I understand has to happen sometimes. Unfortunately, they charged me $350 for a major issue that has yet to be resolved. They also did some minor damage to my bathroom, and no one will respond to me about it. Again, I have called several times. I have had a bucket under my toilet tank for over two months. They left my driveway access port open for ventilation and it remains opened with no permanent resolution. They were supposed to show up today between 1 and 3 and never showed. I had to call and try to reschedule. They told me I have to wait five more days for someone to come out. I have never dealt with such poor customer service in Ferndale. I am very disappointed...and out $350 plus damages.

I could NOT be happier.   It's always a daunting task to try to find a reputable tradesperson without having the benefit of a friend or family recommendation.

Thank heaven for Google reviews!! The Google reviews for WaterWorks Plumbing were excellent, and gave me a sense of confidence when I called Dave to arrange to have my kitchen faucet replaced.

He answered the phone in person, which was a very pleasant surprise. He had immediate availability, and was both friendly and professional.

We made an appointment, and Dave even called to follow up the day prior to my designated time. (Impressed beyond belief, since no one does that anymore, it  seems!).

WaterWorks agreed to come and work on my faucet while I was at work. I left them payment and key. I came home exhausted from a long day to find my faucet installed beautifully (!!!); not a single bit of mess; my key in place; my house locked tight; and a nice voicemail from Michael, who did the installation.

I could NOT have been happier!  WaterWorks is my new forever plumbing contractor. They are first class. Entirely trustworthy. Reasonably priced. 100% professional.

Great job, Michael and Dave. I so appreciate you!

** Updated 4/13/15  I have called WaterWorks 3 times since for everything from a leaky bathroom faucet to a major 'under the house in the crawlspace repair.
They show up when they say that they are going to show up. Their pricing is exceptionally fair. They are professional. They don't charge for parts or labor that they don't need to charge for. First rate.

I called WaterWork to give me a quote on fixing my main sewer line, which had two significant root blockages. The plumbing company that had come out initially quoted me a $4,500 job and said the line from the house to the main line should be completely replaced. When Adam from WaterWork came to look at the problem he presented me with a completely different option (a snake with a saw on the end that cuts out the roots) that should last 3-5 years AND would cost way less. Adam did the work on the spot, completing it in about 2.5 hours (he also extended the access to my sewer line in the yard while he was here) and the root clearing cost $650. He saved me $3,850! Adam was very nice, showed up on time, and explained everything thoroughly. He's obviously an expert in his line of work. I will call WaterWork when I next need plumbing work done. Thank you, Adam! (Also-- a shout out to Jenny who was so nice on the phone at WaterWork and told me to ask for a DVD when my sewer line was video'ed, which the previously company didn't tell me, even though it should have been offered!)

Had a basement drain issue on a Friday evening - when I called they were super helpful and let me know they could dispatch someone right away or if it could wait until Sat then that was an option as well. On Sat, they called in advance, confirmed scope of work and cost and got it done quickly and efficiently. Thanks Patrick!

I asked three plumbing companies to give me a quote on a rather large home plumbing issue. WaterWork responded quickly and had many good ratings. The problem is that WaterWork was the only company that was going to charge me $95 to come out to give me a quote. If WaterWork was not the best value for my needs I would been out the money adding extra cost to my project. It doesn't  seem to be good business to be unable to provide a competitive quote. Sorry, had to take my $5,000 job to another local company.

This morning we woke up to a hula hoop size ring of dingy sludgy ickyness around the drain in the floor of our basement. We live in Royal Oak, and have dealt with this crap (literally) before, so I was a bit nervous about the possibility of what lied ahead of the smelly waters. After checking Yelp for some names,  I called  Waterworks and they had a great price comparitavely,  and the girl on the phone, Becky was super friendly. I was able to get a same day appointment which was great also. Patrick and Tim came were even running ahead of schedule for me. They were totally professional and actually pretty cool. Patrick was really informative and didn't seam to be annoyed by my endless questioning, and he really explained things in a way I could understand.  I know next time I have an issue with my pipes I'm going to call Waterworks again. Living in this area, we have a lot of tree root infiltration, so getting this done every other year or so is going to be on my maintenance schedule. lucky for me, Waterworks will just call me when it's time again. Seriously if you need a plumber call Waterworks - you won't be disappointed.

Really helpful and responsive and most importantly they fixed the problem.  I had originally call another well-know rooting service at 7:30 am for a 9am to 11am window.  After 11am with no call I called them only to find out they never confirmed my appointment and my window was 1pm - 5pm.  Sooo, I called WaterWork.  The woman who answered the phone was amazingly helpful, cheerful and responsive.  After only an hour or so, Patrick showed up at my house (they gave me a 1pm-3pm window) at about 1:30pm and an hour later my leak was fixed.  They are my go-to plumbing service and in fact, I gave out their name and number later that day!

On April 11 my parents basement flooded and we contacted Waterworks plumbing to come out to see what the problem was. It seemed the issue was resolved and my parents were happy with the work. However, 9 days later, April 20, we had the same issue. My parents called Waterworks back and were told there would be a fee to come out and take a look. If the issue stemmed from the same problem as before they would only have to pay the fee to look but if it was another issue they would have to pay. Okay fine. They couldn't pinpoint the issue (shocker) but they could snake all the areas and put that fee towards the extra work. Okay fine. Now 7 days later the basement flooded and what were my parents told? You will have to pay the fee to have us come look at it. Seriously?! I understand there isn't a warranty but I think most people would expect the problem to have been fixed on the first try. Clearly they didn't diagnose the problem to begin with and fail to have the skill set to do so. If anything it just seems they are taking advantage of senior citizens. Pathetic.

Friday at 10am I went to my basement and discovered a leak. I called waterworks plumbing and they had someone to my house at 1:00. Dave 2.0 was quick and found the problem. Gave me a quote for $1,121. He came back Monday to do the work. He finished early, which saved me money. Having plumbing issues is never fun but Dave was kind, thorough and had our best interest in mind. Bonus, he cleaned up so it didn't even look like he had been there. I would totally recommend Waterworks! Thanks Dave!

Friendly service and came out to help with backed up pipes on a holiday weekend. It was expensive given it was after hours and on a holiday, however, I appreciate the quick response and fast service.

What an awesome company!  Bill came out to do the work.  He was on time and very friendly and professional.  He was very knowledgeable and fully explained what needed to be done.  For the work he did, the price was reasonable.  He really went out of his way to make sure I was satisfied.  I like a company that I feel I can trust.  This is one for sure.  I will definitely be calling WaterWork Plumbing for my next job.  I highly recommend this company.

Arnie was excellent to work with! We had a pretty uncommon issue with our old stack pipe that involved having to get a section replaced with new PVC. Arnie was very good at explaining the issue and working to resolve it at the lowest possible cost to us. Very professional and cleaned up well before leaving. Will definitely use Water Work again in the future.

Water Work Plumbing is the best.  On time and never leaves a mess.  Most of all, they did not treat me like a dumb woman.  My pet peeve with most service people.

On a Sunday last January my water heater decided to go.  I called Water Work that day and had a new water heater installed the next morning.  Just to compare prices I went over to Home Depot.  What a joke.  I knew more about water heaters than the guy that wanted to help me.  Then once you decide you have to call their installers.  One call and Water Works had it done for the same price.

Just a few weeks ago I had them back to install a kitchen faucet and unclog a drain.  Done in no time.

I asked about a few other issues that I need to address at some point and was given an idea of what needed to be done but no pressure to do it immediately.  I remember having Nelson Bros out a few years ago and the guy went around my basement looking for additional jobs that I really should get done now or a disaster would happen.

Outstanding. They had a plumber, Tom, at my door within two hours of calling with a clogged sewer line and flooded basement.  He was incredibly polite and professional, and took the time to do the job right without trying to up sell or pull one over (unlike the previous service I had used).  They charged slightly more than comparable companies in the area, but I would say it was worth every cent.  This is now my go to company and I would highly recommend them to others. Thanks so much WaterWorks!

We've used WaterWork for our minor plumbing needs since we moved to Michigan a year ago and always got great service at a reasonable price.  Two days ago, two great WaterWork plumbers worked hard to clear our main sewer line but couldn't.  Rather than charge us by the hour to keep doing what wasn't working, they packed up to consult with management about writing an estimate for excavation work.  We panicked all the next day thinking they were going to need to dig up the line -- which runs under our front porch! -- until Debbie, the office manager, called and said she wanted to send one of their most experienced guys out to take a look.  This morning, our potential $10,000+ nightmare was resolved for way, way, way less than that by a great, highly experienced plumber.  They even applied what we paid earlier in the week to today's charges!  Were it not for all four of the awesome plumbers who came out -- and the amazing office manager! -- we would be taking out a mortgage to repair something that just took a little extra team work and expertise to resolve.  We are WaterWork customers for life!

Wow, what else can I say. They sent a guy out to my house fast to fix a pipe I couldn't make work after a bathroom remodel. The fitting was in a really hard place to get to and they didn't tear up the wall to make it easier for them.  After it was fixed the next day we noticed that there was still a little leak. On a Saturday when they were fully booked up they had someone come out to correct it. There was no talk of a separate charge or it being a different issue.

Great service that I'll definitely use again if needed

We had a busted pipe on our outdoor hook up. This company was kind, efficient and worked hard and quickly to fix the problem. Chris was our technician and she was amazing. I would highly recommend them.

Awful. Called them to replace an old copper pipe for the natural gas line to my dryer with a flex line. When their guy arrived, he claimed the only way to reach the connection to the main gas line was to cut through an air duct. He hacksawed his way through the duct, completely destroying it, leaving an extremely dangerous metal flap hanging from the ceiling with sharp jagged edges and told me you'll have to get that fixed. When I brought someone in to repair the duct, he told me there was no reason to go through the duct. Will not call this company again.

Update: I feel I should update this review due to the owner's response. The owner contacted me via Yelp message following my posting of the review and wanted to know what could be done to remove the review. We came to an initial agreement regarding discount on future work, however the owner demanded that I remove the review before the discount was granted. He also heavily criticized me for how I handled the situation. I was prepared to take a refund or a discount and adjust my review, but the owner's demands that the review be removed first and constant criticism was very unprofessional. He seems more interested in removing the bad review than compensating me for my damages. At this point, due to the high level of unprofessionalism exhibited by the owner, I cannot think of anything that they could do to make me change or remove my review, so as such I declined the offer of a refund in exchange for removal of the review.

Truly as good as it gets. Responsive to my inquiry. Agreed to meet at the time that was convenient for me. Communicated with me by cell prior to arrival. Worked fast. Took care to keep things clean, and cleaned up after the work. Honored online coupon. I couldn't be happier, and would definitely hire again. Total cost (after coupon) to snake kitchen drain: $125.

Called Waterworks after having them snake my drain once before.  I have always had to do it yearly because of roots but this time, just 3 months later the drain in the basement was backing up.  I knew it wasn't good.  Called on a Sunday and they said they could come out the next day.  I had to work but had someone else in the house and they kept me up to date over the phone and explained that the drain was blocked far out towards the main line and only a 6 inch blade could clear it up.  Unfortunately with the old style construction of a 1950s house, the trap did not allow for this.  They had to break concrete in the basement to install a new straight style trap. Turns out the old trap had pretty much also disintegrated.  They did all the work in about 8 hours THAT SAME MONDAY (crazy fast, right???), poured new concrete and cleaned up too!   Put down tarps through the house so that the snowy slushy day didnt track in mud everywhere.  The guys were very knowledgeable and had genuine excitement about their jobs so you knew they were going to do a good job.  You can't ask for more!  Very satisfied and would call back!

We had a tub that wouldn't drain in our master bath.  We knew of WaterWork from just living close by and walking our dog past their storefront each day and decided to give them a try.  We are so thankful we did.  They were so helpful and responsive and managed to schedule a same-day appointment.  The gentleman who came to the house was on time and very helpful and knowledgeable about our situation considering we have an old house.  He was able to clear the blockage in a matter of minutes and for a very reasonable price.  We will definitely use WaterWork and refer friends to them in the future.

These guys are top of the line.  Arnie came out to the house about two hours after I called.  Within the time frame!  Cleaned everything up found the problem fixed it and was out the door like that.  Didn't try to nickel and dime me at all.  Really recommend them!!

I had a fantastic experience w/ Waterwork. They came out the next day, explained the issue and the fix. Provided an estimate and completed the work w/i one week. I worked w/ Bill who was enthusiastic about his job and the price couldn't be beat.

Knowledgeable - Very Reasonable Pricing - Great Service: I called Waterwork Plumbing to have a kitchen faucet replaced and to have a waterline replaced for a new refrigerator. The office staff was very courteous and was able to get me scheduled for service the next day. The day I was scheduled for service, I received a telephone call from Debbie, at Waterwork Plumbing, 30 minutes prior to my scheduled appointment informing me that a journeyman plumber was on his way to my house. Upon arrival, the journeyman plumber, Patrick, introduced himself, explained that hourly rate for service is $135, and verified what needed to be done. Patrick did a great job, was very personable, and professional. He explained exactly what he was doing while he was working so there were no surprises when he was done and presented me an invoice. I highly recommend Waterwork Plumbing and Patrick for all your plumbing issues.

Our toilet was backed up, and we have an invalid in the house who cannot get to the other bathroom. The gentleman on the phone said, Hold on a minute. Let me see who can come out. When he got back on the line, he promised a guy would be here in 15 minutes. The problem was fixed in half an hour. The young guy, Ryan, who came to the house, was pleasant and told me the best kind of plunger to get in case it happens again.

I have used Waterwork Plumbing four times at my house over the years. They are always prompt, professional, and thorough. Their pricing is really fair and straightforward -- No BS like you get from a lot of other contractors. I never thought I would have a go-to plumber, but these are the only guys I call whenever there is a problem. As good as it gets.

Calling WaterWork to fix our sewer line was the best decision we have ever made! My husband and I purchased our newly flipped, Ferndale home a few months ago and ever since we moved in we've had sewer line issues. We called a well-known plumbing company who snaked the line a few times, costing us hundreds every time, but it kept backing up every few months. The last time they came, they told us it would cost thousands of dollars to tear up our front year to replace the damaged line. So we did our due-diligence and called around and I immediately felt comfortable after talking to David at WaterWork over the phone. He explained the ways they could fix the line without the expensive digging process, and assured me everything would be OK. The guys came out to take a look a few days later and agreed something needed to be done. Arnie and Ryan were SO friendly and nice, and Arnie even drew a picture for me explaining where the back ups were talking place. They worked on the line for an hour or so clearing all the way to the city sewer. They brought me downstairs to show me the cleared line and I was so happy I could cry! The best part is they gave me a before and after video to show my husband since he couldn't be home. Hopefully I don't need to call for help again anytime soon, but if I do I will for sure be calling WaterWork. Thank you thank you thank you!!

Waterwork Plumbing was extremely professional, had excellent service, and was the most affordable plumbing company I called to take care of replacing my water heater that broke yesterday. They worked around me and my husband's schedule in order to  best accommodate us, and while they were here they were professional and personable. They did an awesome job replacing our water heater, and they also guaranteed their work for a year after installation. We'll definitely be calling them again with any plumbing needs.
