Best Leak Detection in Detroit MI

East Plumbing Plumbing Service
The plumber's price was fair but I did not use them.  They responded quickly and the estimate was about what I ended up paying.  I didn't use them because I was not in their area.  But I was impressed by his communication and how quickly her responded.

Universal Plumbing and Sewer Plumbing Service
Where to begin on how awful this company is. Let me start with Nice shouldn't be confused with Competent.  I spent over $30,000 with Universal Plumbing.  They displayed an ineptness and lack of consideration that has me baffled.  I had a sewage line run into a holding tank under my shed.  When the backflow preventer activates, water is supposed to reside here before being pumped elsewhere.  To me, the depth of the pipe and where the float for the ejector pump resides seems a bit too low.  Therefore, my concern was that the pump might not even turn on.  I also asked how much water the well can retain.  Tony, the designer of the system, said I don't think there's any way to determine that.  I mentioned math but that was lost on him as his purpose for being there was to try to upsell me on an additional pump and more labor.  I doubled down and questioned, why would need an additional pump, will this not be enough?.  The guy who designed the system had no answer and looked at me with surprise that I questioned another pump.  The continuous attempt at upselling is disgusting.  Unfortunately, I can see people falling victim to their predatory ways.  Needless to say, this isn't what you want to hear when you spend money both on fixing a potential flood issue and remodeling your basement.  I suggested to Tony to block the backflow preventer to emulate a flood event and fill the system with water to emulate rainfall.  He was baffled by the concept yet eventually thought it was a good idea.  He said he'd be out on December 16th to test out what they built.  He then sent me a quote for $3,198.  This was what I was to pay to see if they had a clue what they were doing.  Here we are roughly 5 weeks later, and they haven't been out to prove what they installed actually does the job.  I have called and spoken to Dawn countless times who assured me he would call me back.  I have also sent emails, left messages, but anyone of any authority is ALWAYS out of the office.  I'm left to believe that them not showing up simply solidifies their incompetence.  On an earlier date prior to the system installation, I had them come out to inspect the lines running from my house.  The price quoted was $1,000.  When they left, they tried to charge me $1,700.  The kicker is once they installed the system, they realized they were completely wrong on where a good portion of the plumbing was going.  Beyond that, they managed to severely damage a decorative step leading to the shed, damaged my natural stone walkway (placed all the dirt on it without laying wood over it), and even managed to tear up an area of my front yard they shouldn't have been, with their equipment.  Tony said he would arrange cement work for the 8'x8' hold in the center of my driveway where a second backflow preventer was installed.  Apparently, he forgot.  When I asked him about it, he rushed to call someone who would constantly ignore him (his words).  I tried numerous companies to see if they could fill the void, they all said their equipment is done for the year.  Now I must go through winter with a gravel driveway section that makes it difficult to clear snow off.  That's the least of my worries at this point.  Unfortunately, I could add more but this is already longwinded.  I must work on locating a new company to prove Universal got lucky on the build of their system, and possibly a lawyer to recover costs should the system prove as inept as they are.  If you have an awful neighbor who asks for a recommendation, I would recommend Universal Plumbing.  If you have any respect for yourself, your home, or your wallet, I'd look elsewhere.

Main Drain Service Plumbing Service
I have been buying properties for 17 years and Michael accomplished what few other plumbers will even attempt. he was referred to me from a friend in common and went and looked at my clogged drain the same day. I had six inches of water in the basement AND my stairs to the basement collapsed from the previous plumber who attempted it and broke them with his heavy equipment. Mike went the same day, got his equipment down there and worked on the drain until he got it freed up. excellent communication. great pricing and incredible service. thanks Mike. I appreciate the excellent service.

Precision Plumbing Plumbing Service
I tried to get an estimate however they required the time to be before 4pm.  I work and could not be there before this time so they wanted to charge me $75 dollars for a service visit just to get an estimate.  They have no system in place for people who work during the day.

WaterWork Plumbing Plumbing Service
I won't trust this company after I used them for my property sewer line inspection.

The guy was inexperienced and want to charge more just because he won't be able to get the job done correctly at the first place.

I hired another company and they finished the task in less than 10 mins and no major issues at all.

They just want to charge more by scaring the customer. Not professional at all my friend.

Cregger Plumbing, Heating & Cooling Plumbing Service
I was getting a new roof installed and was told I would need to hire a plumber to move my vent stack over about 10 inches. The tricky thing was that I need the plumber to come the same day and time the roof would be ripped off. Cregger Plumbing was great.

I received a free quote the same day I called and when the other company never showed to give an estimate, I decided to go with Cregger.  I had no problem scheduling the plumber at the day and time I needed him. And when my roofing company called two days before our date to reschedule, Cregger Plumbing was very accommodating and I had no problem moving my appointment.

The plumber arrived early and just waited until the roofers ripped off the roof. He was fast, professional, and our bill was what was quoted. The roofing company manager even stated that the plumber did excellent work and that we chose a great plumbing company.

I have only good things to say and I will definitely use Cregger plumbing in the future.

I do, however, want to apologize to the plumber on behalf of one of the roofers. According to my husband, some guy (I think the site supervisor) chased after the plumber screaming nonsense  and swearing regarding the placement of the pipe. Apparently, the guy had the wrong flashing and decided to take it out on our plumber. The roofing company (Pro Home Improvement) manager was called and he came out and deemed the job well done and brought the correct flashing. So everything ended up fine, but I just wanted to apologize to the plumber.

They explained to us about our drain system and how it was failing, showed pictures of everything and provided pictures on the write-up.

Friendly, professional, and most importantly (for us at the time) efficient!

Hopefully we don't have to do business with them again, but if we need someone we will know who to call!

Iron Pipe Sewer & Drain Plumbing Service
Skip this guy. He is a rip off artist. Oh, he seems nice and friendly at first but he'll take you for what you have and do a bad job. He put in new pipes in the basement because sewage was flowing into the basement and he said new pipes would stop that. They didn't. He didn't finish the job properly. After tearing up the cement, putting in new pipes, he screwed up laying the fresh concrete down. He didn't have enough cement to contour the slope of the floor to direct water into the drain so he said he would be back in a few days to finish the floor. He never came back. And when sewage started seeping back into the basement, I called him, NO ANSWER. I text messaged him, NO RESPONSE. I emailed him, NO REPLY. So now he has my money and I have the same problem as I did before but now the sewage is flowing into the basement through brand new pipes.

asked for a quote in an email to avoid service call charge and asked them to email me price. They emailed me a reasonable price quickly and were out in a couple of days to fix a leaky shower drain. They found it didn't need replacing, just re sealing and tightening. Charged much less than the quoted job.  To do the quoted job they wanted $250, 2 other plumbers quoted me $400. First plumber I have ever used that I would call again

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup Plumbing Service
Our technician, Columbus, came to our house on 12/6 to repair a re-occurring back-up in our main sewer line. He was so good at explaining to us what was going on under our house, even with pictures, so that we fully understood what the problem was.  He answered all of our questions and made a solid recommendation on how to fix the problem from happening again.  Since we are in the process of finishing our basement, and days away from installing the floors, we were naturally very concerned with this happening again. With a camera, Columbus showed me the inside of our pipes all the way out to the city lines, so we had comfort knowing the problem had been resolved, not just temporarily.  Aside from knowledgeable, Columbus was such a kind and personable man, who really perked us up after a very overwhelming day.

Update on my prior review. On our last visit they came during a clutch plumbing situation (where they recommended we dig out our yard for $12k, but we declined) - they somehow sold my dad/us a package for the furnaces - which came with free filters. Big shocker, it doesn't actually come with the filter.
Subsequently they came to inspect our furnaces and one of them, of course, had a problem. Wanted $1600 to fix it but sent a sales guy the following day just so we could weigh our options. The sales person suggested we buy a furnace and air conditioner for $10k so we wouldn't be without heat. Mind you, we had heat. I. Was. Furious. Luckily I intervened, because it seemed like this was just a way to exploit seniors (my dad originally set up all the meetings and I caught wind of it).
I have a friend who owns a hvac business so I had him come the same day (sales guy left, and he pulled in). Inspected the furnace and said we could wait on the repair or just get it over with and it would cost $385. Seems like a deal.
It felt very sleezy.

I waited 2 weeks for someone to come to my house, I explained I had a specific time frame that I needed my furnace replaced and central air installed as well as duct work fixed and they agreed to come out. I explained how difficult the work was going to be and they still agreed to come out. The appointment went well, the contractor told us he would be discussing the project with his boss and get us a quote in 3 business days. Well - three days came and went. I called the office because I have a specific timeframe to get work done. I was told someone would call me right back, I left my cell number since I was at work.  The sales person called my home phone and left a message and said they are too busy to take on this project at this time. Now why would they agree to come give us a quote if they were too busy? Waiting for this company has cost me 3 weeks of my timeline. I am sooooo disappointed.
