We called Cregger's for a service call and they sent Colin out within an hour or less of our call. They were hyper communicative, letting us know when they were 30 minutes away; sent us a photo of Colin so we knew it was him when he arrived. They even made sure to follow instructions (I.e. knocking, since our doorbell is broken).
Colin was professional and very knowledgeable; completing the service within less than an hour. He snaked a drain and advised possible next steps if there are future issues. Colin was very polite and answered all of our questions.

I've used them in the past several times and was very impressed with their professionalism.  They won't have you buy anything that is not needed and
will give you the solution.  For the job that I had, I was out of their service area.

Twas Christmas Eve morning and all through the house, not a fluid was stirring, particularly any trying to get through our sewer.
With a glimmer in his eye old St. Cregger appeared, with a snake and some gloves and abundant good cheer.

Down the clean out he went with a WISH and a WHOOSH, till his snake hit a whatsit that just wouldn't push.
Undeterred, old St. Cregger pulled back on his snake then loudly HO HO'd n'said, This isn't great.

He sat back for a minute to gather his strength,
then dove down the clean out with the greatest of haste.
We heard a big bang then a grumble or two, then back up he came with some goo and good news!

Our blockage was gone though stubborn it was, 'twas no match for St. Cregger, his snake or his cause...

Once again old St. Cregger this day did he save and we happy paid him with a credit card wave. So cheery and friendly, efficient and quick, call Cregger cuz I'm sure they're endorsed by St. Nick.

But seriously though, Cregger saved Christmas.

I needed a new valve for my outdoor water faucet, and Cregger responded rapidly and did a great job, all within the cost estimate. From submitting my request for service on Yelp to project being complete, the job was done in less than 24 hours. Their technician, Tom, was friendly and professional. He explained what needed to be done, recommended some additional must-do work, and completed everything within an hour. Thanks for the great job!

We have used Cregger for over 4 years, and we hired them after we fired another company.

Scheduling is very easy, the people answering the phone are great.  Our interactions with their plumbers has always gone very well.

We have roots in our system and they need to come out about once a year to clear the line.

I've had the pleasure of speaking with one of the owners, Greg who called me about a concern that I raised, and it was resolved to my satisfaction.  These folks truly stand by their work.

We have future work planned that will require the services of a plumber and we will give Cregger that business when it comes time.  We appreciate the way the do business and trust them to do the work.

Asked for HVAC quote on kitchen remodel, customer service setting up appointment was professional, communication excellent! Technician arrived on time, coordinating with my property manager, provided reasonable quote, and offered to do the job on the spot.

Requested plumbing quote for kitchen remodel. Again total professionals on all sides. I excepted their bid, technician completed the job on time on schedule.

Creeger's investment in technology is on point. Their estimate and billing system makes life easier. The estimate was easy to read, and I understood what I was paying for. Their office staff is very professional and organized, appearing to use a centralized record system, so everyone knows the status of a job. This is huge, nothing more frustrating than calling a company and the person that knows about XYZ is not reachable. Cregger has figured this out.

The real test of course is when something goes wrong. I had a small leak in the work they did, and they were very apologetic and responsive. The problem was resolved.

I recently hired Creeger for a sewer problem. From the first contact with the company, I could tell Cregger was customer-oriented. Rachel was pleasant and efficient in scheduling my appointment. She makes a very good first impression for the company. The plumber, Eric, explained in laywoman's terms what was going on and fixed the problem. He offered me options to the problem, along with the prices, made suggestions but did not pressure. I was very pleased with his service. He was both professional and personable.
I highly recommend this company.

My son had a blocked main drain at his house.  They came in and snaked it out, $400.  Water drained fine.  2 weeks later the drain started to slow down, and another week later it started to back up. I called the company.... No warranty whatsoever on that type of work, and they tried to upsell me on their $1000 water jet solution.  Now I do t expect a year warranty on a blocked drain, but less than a month? Find someone else to do the work you need.  And ask about warranty. BTW I found a local one man shop that snake it out again ad charged $225. Along with a 6 month free callback if necessary...

I promised that I would remove my old review if I was satisfied with my outcome. I did so for three reasons. After my former review I received a call from Kristen within 30 minutes of the posting. She called and was personable, articulate, empathetic, and fully aware of the details of my concerns. She convinced me to let her get involved with a solution for my concern. I told her I would call her back. I had been impressed with her knowledge and personality. As I went to call her back, she called me. She said she had contacted a knowledgeable technician that could give me the solutions I needed.  Enter Derrick;  This man understands salesmanship and knowledge.  Highly intelligent, great communicator, and very knowledgeable just scratches the surface.  Derrick has fully updated me on the latest changes to the construction codes in my city. I now understand the scope of work which I did not get with my first encounter. Third reason: I just received an estimate that looks like a business plan, detailed and informative. Easily the best estimate I have ever seen. If you read my first review you would know how impressed I am with this outcome.  Kristen is headed on to much bigger things. I'm so glad she called.  Derrick will one day get the great rewards for the excellent job ethic he has displayed.  OUTSTANDING!

I was able to have a technician come out the next day to fix a leak under the kitchen sink. He quickly diagnosed the problem and once the part was in, had it fixed the same day. Very professional and knowledgeable. I would recommend them, and will hire them again for future plumbing problems.

I needed a water supply pipe to be replaced in the bathroom because it was old and rusted. I called the company at 11:20 am in the morning, a plumber arrived at 2:30 pm and my pipe was replaced by 3:30 pm. Now we have hot water again!

So, naturally on the hottest week of the summer, I notice my AC isn't kicking out cold air. In a panic I hit Yelp and it drummed up four businesses and I'm so fortunate Cregger popped up. Not only were they super responsive but they were so dedicated to help us ASAP. I have a toddler at home and need to keep the house cool (for me as well) and they got us in the next day and were so quick and helpful (and even humored my inquisitive toddler).

I contacted them because it was a Saturday night, and my shower wouldn't turn on! They actually responded within a few minutes and gave me a bit of advice and scheduled me for the next Monday. They got to my house actually before me, so I would say they were definitely reliable. The guy who came was friendly and gave me a lot of good preventative tips to avoid frozen pipes in the future and he fixed the issue in a reasonable time. I would call them again

This is the third time I have used Cregger and each time I have received excellent service. This time is was a clogged sewer line and water on the basement floor. Chris was the technician and couldn't have been more considerate explaining the problem, his plan to resolve the issue, and then so thorough when explaining the results. I'm a senior citizen who was frantic after discovering the problem. Chris was a lifesaver making sure he left my house in working order and giving extra effort in his cleanup. I can't express my appreciation enough for Chris and the other excellent Cregger employees.

Wonderfully responsive on Yelp. Came out, identified the problem, fixed it, and showed me the work when it was done. Stop valve replacement and spigot replacement. Highly recommend.

Contacted them and they fit me in same day. The technician (Scott L) was courteous, efficient, and fixed the problem with no delay. I've used this business for plumbing and now AC repair. Will definitely use them in the future for any hearing/cooling or plumbing needs.

I have used this company several times for the rentals I manage...however, this year I have noticed their prices have increased SUBSTANTIALLY. I just had a garbage disposal replaced (Badger 5 InSinkErator) and it cost me $595! The disposal itself is priced online with a high price of $139 and a low price of $109.   $600, including the Badger 5 disposal, seems incredibly high to me. Many of us users are at a disadvantage because we are unable to do the work ourselves. I was shocked!  

Other than the increased prices I'm seeing, Cregger is a good plumbing company; they have always been on time and reliable and they do good work.  Pricing is the only reason I gave a 4 star review. I'm sorry to see these large increases in pricing.

I wanted my sewer snaked as we have a lot of trees in our area so I'm trying to prevent a future problem.  The last time we had it done was two years ago.  Brady came out and did a great job.  He was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable.  He even called me over so I could see for myself on the camera how our sewer looked.  I will definitely request Brady again.  Thanks for a job well done!

It is my absolute pleasure to be able to leave this well deserved review . When I contacted Cregger Plumbing shortly after purchasing my Detroit home , I knew that I was going to need an  experienced and talented plumber to be able to sort through the wide variety of plumbing issues my 85 year old home needed to have addressed . I went through the items and I composed a list of no  less than nine issues that needed attention . quite frankly I was apprehensive that I was going to be successful . so you can imagine the relief I felt immediately when Cregger sent to me their master plumber , Ben and when he came to give the free estimate , talking at length about each of the issues that I have and then at the end after I told him that he would actually be working in one of the big Motown stars homes , he went on to tell me of his previous experience working for Aretha Franklin . I immediately knew I had the right person for the job ! I scheduled my appointment, which I actually had to re schedule , but Cregger plumbing was happy to oblige and when Ben and his trusty assistant finally showed up , it was well worth the wait .  although we weren't able to complete all nine of the issues on my list , in several cases it was beyond Ben s control. He worked hard  on a job that took all of the business day practically to complete . He even went out for over an hour one at point just to source parts that would be needed . The result has left me very happy indeed ! For the first time in the 16 months since I bought this house , I can actually drain the water out of my tub and it doesn't take four days to do it any longer ! I have already made the decision that when the next phase of plumbing issues needs to be tackled next month , Ben is the only person I want to hire to do it . Lastly , my overall assessment of this experience is that the pricing was fair and in line with other estimates that I received and if you're fortunate enough to get an experienced pro like Ben who gets it right the first time , even as you're staring at a rather large repair bill when all is said and done , you'll be comforted by that feeling that it was worth every penny !

I believe this is one of the most professional companies I've dealt with in a very long time. Plumbing problems were taken care of  the same day I called.  Derek, the owner is truly a great business man who reached out to make sure I was satisfied with the work. He is so kind and I am happy to know there are still wonderful people out there in this difficult world!!!  It is such a pleasure to be able to highly recommend this business.

I reached out to several companies for a quote on replacing a toilet and Cregger got back to me immediately. They were so quick to respond, patient to answer all my questions, and even provided tips on what to look for when hiring a company like theirs. I hired them for the job and they were able to come out next day. They gave me a time slot of 12-5 for when they'd arrive and they came at 1pm. The guy installing the toilet was professional and quick! In and out in about an hour. The price was comparable to other quotes I received as well. Overall, friendly company, extremely quick to get back to you, and very professional.

James was great. Came out the same day I called and fixed our basement laundry pump very quickly. Also identified some safety issues with older piping in our basement and helped to secure. Will definitely have Cregger back over the summer when we do some other projects in the home.

After a review of the initial experience, I was immediately contacted by the owner, who expressed concern about my experience and attempted to make it right.  His folks, including Mike, bent over backwards to turn things around.  A part was ordered, the invoice was more than fair, and the heat's back on.

This firm works hard for its customers, and after some initial bumps I'm pleased to say that I'd call them again.

There's never a good time to call for a plumber, but very happy that I was referred to Cregger Plumbing for an issue in my condo unit downtown with the water line from my fridge. They were able to get out SAME DAY (which is a big deal for me), diagnose the issue, and help remedy (but not replace) the leaky water line.

I wanted to give a five star rating, but couldn't because of the fairly high emergency call up-charge which couldn't have been avoided.

Had Cregger plumbing redo my sump pump lines, excavated outside and changed on a very negative basis the slope of the yard excavated and the result was water in my basement.  Said they would come out in two weeks when my basement was taking on water damaging sheet rock and carpeting.  When I sought resolution they took no responsibility and sent me to a foundation patching system that was poorly rated.  I have had to hire a foundation company to repair my foundation leakage and and excavator to change the grade of my lawn.  Very disappointed.  Buyer beware.  Derek the owner talks a good game and failed to deliver on a timely basis.  When I asked him to come out sooner than two weeks, he said his schedule was full.  With the rain that occurred in early August, my basement is now damaged.

Derek the owner is awesome!  He made sure his team got out here and fixed the leaking pipe quickly.  He followed up to make sure I was happy with the end result.  The technician they sent out was friendly and knowledgeable.  I have used this company in the past and I will use them in the future if needed.

I have had Creeger Plumbing at my house for a lot of  services: Drain snaking, floor drain replaced, hot water heater purchase and install, new furnace install, kitchen faucet install, new garbage disposal and kitchen drain fixed, all new copper plumbing installed. This was all done by John for the furnace, Brandon for the drain snaking and some of the installs, KJ for the copper plumbing. The other day I had Jeff here to remove the old copper gas line from my dryer. He installed safe steel coated flex line, secured it to the back basement wall and installed  my new dryer's venting.   The best thing about Creeger is that you get first rate, quality work done by professionals.  They are always on time, considerate and explain what they are doing.  I would never consider using another company. They are my go to for any plumbing, HAVC, or drain snaking jobs I need done.

You get what you pay for. There's a reason this company is cheaper than other competitors. STAY AWAY & SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY ELSEWHERE!! We had a sewer pipe break. We were totally aware that they were tearing up our lawn and not going to plant new grass. What we weren't aware of was their machinery (excavator) leaving dark deep big oil spots all over our side walk in front of our house and a hundred cigarette buds all over our lawn. We just moved into our house in January, they came to do the job Feb 1, so walking up a junked up sidewalk wasn't something we wanted to do the next 10 years of our life. The presentation of our curbside appeal was something we loved the most about our home purchase. I spent all day scrubbing the side walk with dawn dish soap, over and over and over, I got it to lighten A TON. And then decided to call and ask if they could come get the oil out because well.. why wouldn't they? They sent someone out and whatever machine they used left permanent swirl marks in the side walk making it look even worse.  When I spoke to ONE OF THE OWNERS, he told me I was being dramatic, that it was nice of the guys to even come out to try and remove the oil to begin with because that isn't at all something they should have done and he was a COMPLETE JERK. I told him I'm going to warn other people about this experience and he said good, goodbye as rude as possible. I WOULD NEVER RECCOMEND CREGGERS!!!!!

Called Wednesday to get Cregger's to come out to repair a leaky bathroom sink and bathtub faucet. I was delighted when the scheduler said someone could be out on Friday (today) between noon and 5PM. I waited all afternoon. It is now 7PM. No service, no courtesy call, nothing. I wish I could give less than one star for this poor customer service and complete waste of my time.

Derrick called me personally on Saturday morning to apologize for the no-show and to reschedule the work for the following Monday. I was satisfied with his explanation and impressed that he readily owned the problem and was willing to bend over backwards to make things right. The repair was done on Monday as scheduled. James was professional and personable. Derrick even called later in the day to ensure that all was well. This was the type of service I had come to expect from Cregger's. So, presto, the one star becomes a five star!

I had 2 leaks in the basement. I went through my home warranty that came with house when I purchased. They work with America's Preferred Home Warranty. (Huge plus) Ryan and Ryan were the technicians and they were fantastic. Arrived on time and did great work. I could not be happier and have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend.

the story is long, so I'll cut to the chase.
the basement plumbing needed redoing.  cregger did the job well, did it quick and as promised.  when they had to return to pull the permits (the reason they are only getting 4 stars - they 'forgot' to pull them before starting work), they got the perms, fixed the work up to code, and had tge inspector out and the inspection passed within 48 hours and on their dime.
very respectful and competent employees (except for one receptionist, but she can be bypassed), who do great work.  
would use them again and have already recommended cregger to family.

Requested to have my sewer drain snaked as part of a home inspection request. Cregger provided a great experience and timely service. The dispatch did not inform the servicemen that it was a sewer snaking based on inspection results, so he did not bring a scope. Fortunately, the servicemen made up for it with effort in doing the job right. My sewer return access was not easily accessible, James made extra effort to access the sewer correctly and do the job right the first time.

They did a great job fixing a problem that was causing a great deal of stress, at a very busy time for the company, with a great deal of professionalism. I dealt directly with one of the owners, who bent over backwards to accommodate. Will absolutely go to them with all future plumbing, heating and cooling needs.

Derrick was professional, fast, and transparent with my furnace issue. However, $240 for a 10-minute cleaning of the pressure switch is quite high. This is normal a $90-140 range call.

I have used Cregger for sewer line maintenance in the past, but this week was the first time I needed help with a plumbing situation... and it was a SITUATION!  Mike and Tim were at my house, right on time, made a speedy diagnosis, and fixed the problem.  They demonstrated a high degree of professionalism and curtesy.  I'm impressed and am thankful to know a local plumbing service that I trust.  I recommend Cregger Plumbing without reservation.

Many of these reviews are from people who work for the company. They're actively trying to boost the company's rating by making fake reviews because the REAL reviews are showing how bad the service (if you can even call it that) really is.

The owner is lying about what happened and then writing fake reviews to cover it up.

Within days of them checking out my sump pump it backed up and my basement flooded. The visit was originally related to my laundry tub, as the owner is quick to point out in his retort. He fails to recognize that his employee also inspected my sump pump while he was there. The reason for this was to see if the pipes remained the same diameter throughout the house. He followed them from the laundry tub (main floor) to the basement.

It cost me over $300 to clean/replaced damaged items. When speaking to the business owner he said it was my fault for not checking the pump right after his technician looked at it to make sure it was still ok. He hung up on me after refusing to take any responsibility. I never requested any service for free as he likes to claim. I simply asked to be reimbursed for the damage caused. Trust me, after that fiasco, I didn't want his company anywhere near my plumbing again.

We had four plumbers come to our house.  Cregger was the fourth.  The tech they sent out the first time did not resolve the problem and we had to call Cregger back to let them know we were still getting water in the basement. (reason for 4 stars instead of 5) Then they sent out Kevin - a superhero - at no additional charge.  What's crazy is Kevin worked the hardest of all the plumbers to ensure our lines were clear and draining properly!  He pulled all type of weird stuff out of our rental property's basement main drain - a few empty food cans, a spray can, tons of weeds and other debris.  I'm not sure why the previous plumbers weren't able to find any of that stuff and pull it out.  But we're happy Kevin did!!!! Cheers to Kevin!!!

I'd also like to say I am very appreciative for Cregger Plumbing for being willing to come do work in the City of Detroit in a not so pretty area.  I love my city and I have lots of rental properties in the city that often need professional crafts to come do repairs.  I'm glad I can call on Cregger to get a reliable plumber to my properties (Just send Kevin again, please).

We had our AC go out on one to the hottest days. This was a Wednesday and they were available the next day when all other companies near us had a 2 week availability.  We needed the motor replaced and the service person had one in his truck. It was replaced immediately.  Great service.  Highly recommended!

Well we needed the big guns again for our 81 year old house. This time the laundry kitchen were backing up. I feared we needed new pipes below ground and was right. Cregger completed everything in 1 1/2 days and work everything neat an tidy Great experience. James and Tim had a tough problem in an 80 year old house wth a clogged drain pipe that needed to be replaced. Fixed with minimal demo and left the house clean. Fair price. Experienced and knowledgeable. Would use them again.

Not a 24 hour/emergency service as stated.

I called at 7pm because my furnace wasn't working and it was going into single digits outside. I left a message with a man who had a very difficult time writing down an address who stated he would pass on the message and they should get back to me. They did not.

I give Cregger 5 out of 5 stars hands down... their service has been excellent with each interaction....

New to Ferndale - had some 'immediate water in basement' problems soon after moving into our house. Safe to say not a great feeling after buying a new home. I shopped around for prices to have backwater valves installed on my basement floor drains. Cregger was competitive on price - quick to service, and technicians / plumbers professional & friendly.

Unfortunately while I was out of town days after having the work done, we had some heavy rain once again - and some water STILL found its way into my basement - was not happy about this, contacted Cregger immediately to see what the heck the problem was. I was out of town and it was difficult for me to coordinate to get a plumber over while I was away.

The owner of Cregger contacted me personally right away - he coordinated with my family member to get into my home while I was out of town. They spent the next 24-48 hours working on my home until the issue was resolved. It's rained hard several times since and I've had no issues.

BOTTOM LINE: Despite what was initially a frustrating plumbing situation - Cregger went out of their way to work with my schedule (rare) and make sure I was taken care of - and didn't stop working until I was in good shape.

Cregger has many years of experience in Ferndale / Royal Oak area - I'd suggest them to anyone.

I want to thank James Liberty at Cregger Plumbing for the professional service clearing my kitchen drain line.  It is not often that I find service personnel that are personable to deal with.  James was very friendly and honest.

I had already snaked the line prior to calling a plumber, but I was unable to clear it myself.  I have used Cregger Plumbing in the past for other work and their rates were reasonable, so I called them again.  Initially when I called, they apparently lost my phone number in their system and did not contact me back the following day to schedule an appointment.  My wife called back at the end of the day, but they were booked up and couldn't get me in today.  She set up an appointment for the following day in the morning.  After not hearing from them in the morning, my wife called back and their system again lost our appointment information.  The operator apologized and informed us that they are using a new system and have been having issues with it.  They gave us a new window between 3 and 7pm.  Around 5 pm, James called and informed me that he was on the way.  He arrived quickly and was very professional and polite.  James listened to me about the problem and went to work.  He was able to successfully clear the line.  When it came time for the bill, it was not only reasonable as is, but Cregger Plumbing knocked off an additional $89.00 I assume due to the scheduling errors. (I never complained to them about the scheduling errors, they did this on their own).  I would highly recommend this company again in the future for plumbing needs.

Called Cregger Company, after a tenant at a rental property noted a water heater went bad on a Saturday evening. After I had called, the technician arrived to the property within reasonable time and had called me after his assessment. I knew what to expect including cost and the water heater replacement proceeded without a hitch. Job well done in this circumstance, would call them again for future needs.

Trustworthy service.  Came back from vacation to a leaky hot water heater. Within 36 hours they had put a tankless model
In place.  Used them for a new water conditioner before.

Updated review: I had a hard time initially with the phone staff but the manager, Derek, called back and even sent a guy out on a Saturday morning to accommodate my schedule. I really appreciate Derek going above and beyond to get my problem taken care of. This was a very kind and caring gesture on his part - thanks Derek!!

Needed a plumber to replace our hot water heater that died just after Memorial Day (2018).  The day after, I called Cregger's, and they sent Kevin and two other helpers to install a new one the same day. Afterwards, we needed to have them out to make several temperature adjusts, and they came out without any hassles and now our hot water temp is perfect.  Cregger Plumbing Co is our go to plumbing service.  They are quick, knowledgeable and competitively priced.  They also plumbed my wife's first floor laundry room which she loves!  Cregger Plumbing Company, you are awesome!

I feel like it's hard to get 5 stars as a plumbing business because they're usually the bearer of bad, pricey news. Still, I felt that I was treated with respect and the service was timely. I had called on a Sunday morning and was unsure if our situation was an emergency. I spoke with a woman who broke down the emergency service pricing vs an appointment - which was huge for me. I was able to make an informed decision and not one in panic because the toilet overflowed! They called to follow up post service to see if we were satisfied and had any additional issues. Would recommend!

GREAT! It was a fun day! Tom was punctual and thorough in checking the pipes - even went into a crawl space in the basement and a cubby under the landing stairs. He paced off to determine locations of pipes at various places. He was pleasant and even added not too many touches of humor. This can be annoying but it was down right comfortable. I'd read about this company and was glad I called. My drain is running like new. Tom discovered leaks in the tile that were causing more of a problem than the one leak he found in the plumbing and did a quote for the bathtub drain fixture. After I get the tilework done, guess who I'll call for the tub drain repair? Cregger!

I was getting a new roof installed and was told I would need to hire a plumber to move my vent stack over about 10 inches. The tricky thing was that I need the plumber to come the same day and time the roof would be ripped off. Cregger Plumbing was great.

I received a free quote the same day I called and when the other company never showed to give an estimate, I decided to go with Cregger.  I had no problem scheduling the plumber at the day and time I needed him. And when my roofing company called two days before our date to reschedule, Cregger Plumbing was very accommodating and I had no problem moving my appointment.

The plumber arrived early and just waited until the roofers ripped off the roof. He was fast, professional, and our bill was what was quoted. The roofing company manager even stated that the plumber did excellent work and that we chose a great plumbing company.

I have only good things to say and I will definitely use Cregger plumbing in the future.

I do, however, want to apologize to the plumber on behalf of one of the roofers. According to my husband, some guy (I think the site supervisor) chased after the plumber screaming nonsense  and swearing regarding the placement of the pipe. Apparently, the guy had the wrong flashing and decided to take it out on our plumber. The roofing company (Pro Home Improvement) manager was called and he came out and deemed the job well done and brought the correct flashing. So everything ended up fine, but I just wanted to apologize to the plumber.

I've used Cregger three times over the past couple years and they have been great all 3 times.  They are professional, prompt and very thorough with the work they perform.  The plumbers answered all my questions/concerns and they made sure i was completely satisfied with their work before they left.

Cregger Plumbing is great. Excellent communication and they went out of their way to get a plumber out quickly and repeatedly to our house until the problem was resolved. We started getting a little bit of drain water back up into our laundry tub following a heavy rain, and so I called at 8 p.m. to try to schedule an appointment. The dispatcher said they could send someone out for emergency service that night, or I could save the emergency fee and they would call me in the morning and would be able to send someone out that day.

Sure enough, they called promptly at 8 a.m., and were able to get Bob out by 2 p.m. Bob was very helpful in trying to determine the source of the blockage in our drain, but was unable to clear the drain with his scope. He recommended having the manager, Bill, come out with another camera and sensor to determine precisely where the blockage was.

I got a call on the morning of the next business day that Bill would be out that afternoon to take a look and assess the problem. Bill was able to pinpoint the location of the blockage in our drain line near the city's main line. Bill was very forthright that there was a chance we would have to dig up the line, but recommended getting it scoped one more time and trying the 4x6 cutter in case there were badly grown in roots in the line, so that we could potentially avoid the considerable expense of digging up the line underneath the street.

Sure enough, the next afternoon, Keith was able to come out and clear the line with the big cutter, then ran a camera down afterward to verify that everything was clear and that the pipe is in good shape. Not only that, at my request, he was able to work from the outside release and didn't even have to knock on the door, which was ideal given that my son was napping at the time. He called immediately with a follow up and emailed the results of his service to me almost instantly.

On top of this, I should mention that we were in the process of selling our house when this happened. Cregger was extremely helpful in providing documentation of their work and assessment of the situation to the lender so that we could close the loan without delay. Thank you to the office manager, Emily, who was extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with!

The morning after Keith came out and remedied the problem, the office called back to check in and make sure everything had gone smoothly and to see if I had any questions or concerns.

All in all, this was a fantastic experience with a very helpful company during a stressful time, and I will definitely call Cregger in the future if I have any plumbing issues that need to be addressed. Top-notch friendly service all around. Thank you!

This review is based solely on customer service and professionalism of technician and ownership. Our sanitary line was blocked. Technician found blockage and asked to speak to my wife so he could educate her on what it was. I told him she did not want to speak to him and it was not necessary as we understood the blockage was due to tampons. He took it upon himself, when he saw her, to shame her in front of me for flushing tampons, or as he called them sewer rats. He then proceeded to tell my wife it's sad that I have to come out here while you waste your husbands money. This was incredibly unprofessional and a highly misogynistic comment. I received a call back from someone within the company that day, Labor Day, concerning our complaint. The person that called sounded sincere in their apology and stated that they were absolutely appalled by what had happened. This person was unable to assist us though and stated they would let the owner know and he would surely take time to call us and resolve this issue. I did not receive a call from the owner, instead I received a call from the plumber? Not sure why the owner did not call, but I was able to get the owner on the phone via the plumber. I spoke with the owner on the phone and he could not have been more dismissive of our concerns. All he said was that he had known the plumber for 15 years and he does not have a bad bone in his body. He, plumber, was only trying to educate us as if we did not understand. The owner failed to understand the root of the issue was the technician telling my wife that she was wasting my money, eluding to his assumption she does not draw an income along with speaking to my wife on the issue when I asked him not too. In the end, the owner refused to admit any wrong doing, stating that I, myself, surely must have said one thing in my past that I regretted.

Update: Owner called back, we discussed and came to a mutual resolution.

Derek is a good guy.  They came out and snaked a basement drain.  A few days later it backed up again on a Saturday.  I was initially told it would be an emergency call fee plus another fee for snaking.  I told the person (not Derek) I did not agree with having to pay another fee when it occurred so soon after their initial visit.  Long story short, once Derrick got involved he made things right.  I would work with them again based on his response.

Tonight, I disconnected a a water line leading to an ice maker in the refrigerator, after closing the water valve in the basement.  (We are expecting a new refrigerator in the morning.) To my shock, the water came pouring out at a rapid rate.  I hobbled to the shutoff main lever, and spent 25 minutes mopping up the messy floor. My multiple attempts from 7:00 PM until 8:45 PM to obtain a plumber were unsuccessful, until Cregger Plumbing and Mechanical Systems answered with a promise to send a man. He arrived close to 10:00 PM. I travelled by my lift chair to the basement problem site.  At age 90 and a diagnosis of chronic degenerative arthritis, I learned an expensive lesson. The Cregger Plumber solved the problem before my lift chair touched the basement floor.  I was shocked to discover he turned the valve one more time, and the water leak problem was solved. I thanked him how much I owed him for his turn of the handle. He replied, $ 225.00. for what was a 2 second task and a ten minute visit. I told him the dispatcher quoted me $ 165.00 for the house call, and additional services could extend to $ 225.00 to 500.00 plus parts depending on the nature of the work. Thus, I was was charged $ 165.00 for the House call, and an additional $ 60.00 for a turn of the hand which took 2 seconds. I told the Plumber it was obvious that I lacked the hand strength to make the final turn. (Erroneously, I assumed the final charge would be $ 185.00.).  My statement to the Cregger plumber was, This not a good way to obtain a reputation for good relationships with a new customer.  Obviously, it's not great publicity for a company dealing with a disabled 90 year-old arthritic, unable to make the final turn on valve.  My suggestion to anyone seeking a plumber is to consider dealing with a plumbing company that takes all factors into human considerations, before settling for a experience that could parallel my experience with Cregger.  It was a mixed picture.  The problem was solved.  The billing was a Bernie Madoff .

He calmly stated that he understood my upset feelings, and said that the $60 charge for 2 second service rendered is one that he - as the owner - would not have charged.  Mr. Cregger explained that the service charge rates are posted on each plumber's cell phone, and on-site plumbers are not authorized to negotiate a modification of service rate charges.  The plumber's problem, in dealing with my complaint about the charge, was the dispatcher who quoted me the $165 service call charge was gone for the evening. The owner assured me that his Company's priority is each customer's total satisfaction with services provided, and he personally would refund $60. He sent the check the following day, adding an additional $5 for the aggravation I experienced.  This is my first experience with a service provider displaying such a complete understanding of a business transaction calling for remedial action.  Based on Mr. Cregger's handling of my problem, viewers can ignore my initial review. On Saturday, November 28th, a Cregger technicians responded to our emergency call for a backed up sewer line.  We had raw sewage coming through our floor drains . Though he said he'd been working for over 19 hours straight, the service technician was respectful, and diagnosed the problem as a collapsed sewer line, 30 feet from our house.  We were charged $400.00 for the diagnosis, without any relief from the standing sewage.  In that discussion and from the technician talking with his supervisor on the phone that evening, we learned that the $400 could be credited to our next service.  That next service was to dig out the line, planned for Monday morning.  This was based on the conversations Creggers technician had with his supervisor.

On Monday, talking with Creggers office, we learned that they would not be able to respond in any way until Wednesday, December 9th.  That was radically different than we had understood Saturday evening, and absolutely unacceptable with standing sewage in our basement.   We engaged their competition who responded promptly, correctly diagnosed the issue.  It turns out Cregger's technician was not even snaking the correct line when he was here.

On Tuesday, December 8, in response to a written request to talk with one of the owners, I was contacted by the office admin at Cregger.  She was disrespectful, demanded a complete copy of their competition's (who correctly solved the issue) bill and directly accused me of lying.  

Do not do business with this company.  They are not honorable, of have any idea what customer service looks like.

Overcharged me by $2700 when I had a $600 service and foolishly provided credit card info over the phone to make payment. Refuse to return calls or remedy the situation. Fighting in hard while I'm contesting it with my credit card company. Don't do business with them, but if you do, be sure not to provide cc info over the phone, only allow them to swipe the card so they can't make fraudulent charges.

Very professional and knowledgable staff.

Cregger people have been out to my house 2 or 3 times now.  The first time, the drains were completely blocked, from the kitchen sink and bathroom sinks.  The toilet worked fine, and the bathtub drain ran slow, but had been running slow for years.  We had several companies inspect the bathtub drain in the past, and all they ever did was snake the drain, which NEVER fixed the issue.  So, when I was having sink issues, I didn't even bother to mention the tub.

The Creggar rep came, and took a look at the sinks.  He asked where I was having problems, and began to take an overall assessment of the problem.  I told him about all of my problems, excluding the bathtub issue.  He actually went to the basement to check out the pipes, and ended up asking me about the tub.  I told him we were having issues, but that it was an ongoing thing, and I was NOT going to have him snake that drain.  (I'd learned the hard way that the process does not work, and would just cost me money.)  Well, he looked at the pipe coming from the tub, and stated flat out that there was NO WAY it could have been a clogged pipe anyway, because that pipe had such a large diameter.

In the end, he ended up snaking the sinks, which completely solved my initial concern.  He also ended up figuring out that the problem with the tub was the unit that stops the water from draining.  Evidently the spring in that unit was bad.  Once he changed it out, my tub has drained fine ever since.  It was SO NICE to take a shower without standing in water!

Since then, they've installed a new kitchen faucet, and completely replaced all of my old water pipes with copper piping.  They were able to re-use some of the existing piping which saved me quite a bit on the price.  After getting a couple of quotes, I found Cregger to be quite reasonable on cost.  Also, if you are an Angie's List member, they routinely offer $99 for $200 worth of plumbing service (right now they have an offer for $111 for $200 worth of service - which is still a great deal to me.)  They are also listed as a 5-star company with hundreds of recommendations on Angie's List.  This is how I found them in the first place.

I would have given them 5 stars, except for 2 things.  First, when they came out to replace my piping, they turned my water heater temperature WAY DOWN.  I was taking cold showers for about a week before I finally figured it out.  :(   Second, when they installed my kitchen faucet, the guy who installed it ended up routing the spray hose under the grounding wire.  I cannot fully extend the hose because of that stupid wire!  I'm sure they would have come right back out had I made a phone call, but my hubby told me he'd take care of it.  Well......you know how that goes!  LOL.  Eventually I'll put it onto his to-do list and get on him about it.....

Even so, I have plans to take advantage of the $111 Angie's List special.  I know from my previous experiences that they are very competitive, and really do, do a good job with the work.  I have a laundry tub in the basement, and need a new pump attached to it.  I'll just remember to check my hot water heater temperature after their representative leaves!  :o)

Very happy with the service, both from Monica in the office and Ian who provided the service.   We've been procrastinating getting a new hose bib installed and main water shutoff valve replaced but Ian did a thorough job and we waited and worried for nothing.  And Monica even called the next day to follow up!   We highly recommend this company.

Fair price, but we had a bad plumber. About a year and a half ago we had them out to run a new gas line for a gas stove and fix a slow leak in our shower. He fixed the shower and ran the gas line. The next morning we returned to our new house to it being filled with gas fumes. They dispatched a different plumber immediately to fix the issue. He had installed the new flange incorrectly and it was leaking. The new plumber they sent fixed it with a smile and said this isn't the first time I have had to follow him. Fast forward a year and a half to present day, and the knob fixed in the shower just blew off flooding our bathroom and consequently the living room and basement by the time we could get to it. Calling them yielded a proposal for emergency service to the tune of $180. No thank you. If I have to PAY to fix the issue we already paid for, I will call a more competent plumber. New plumber didn't deem this as emergency, will be here in a half hour, and is charging the standard $69 service fee.

We are so happy with our experience with Cregger!   We have had Bob twice now for 2 different leaks and he is so kind and so good at what he does.   He really knows his stuff and has made some excellent suggestions to us as well.   I highly recommend them for their wonderful, fast service and the professionalism of Bob who came to the house to resolve our leaks, and for the staff on the phone when we call.   You all make a stressful time so much more bearable!  Thank you Cregger, we tell everyone to call you guys FIRST when they need a plumber!

Derek came out for a 2nd service call. Knowledgeable and great to work with.  Thought I needed a chimney liner - Derek told me not needed. Told me my old boiler was in great shape - no pressing reason to replace it. On the 1st visit he replaced my boiler pump with a more reliable and less costly unit than had been installed by my previous Heating and Cooling service.  Yeah!!

Paid $400 to have burst soil pipe examined with a camera (their master plumber's suggestion)-we were told this would be deducted from the final service/repair cost. However, when it came time to schedule, was told they were not taking any new residential contracts and to find another plumber. Ok. And then we saw the cregger van at our neighbor's house. Not nice.

The plumber was kind & courteous who came out. It was less than 20 minutes from the time he pulled in to the time he pulled out. Everyone I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and the price quoted was right on with what was charged.

DO NOT USE THEM!!  I used them less than a year ago and they had to replace a toilet commode. When I spoke to an agent she clearly stated that the repair took place within the year and it was covered by the warranty.  Fast forward 10 minutes later and they have an agent call and say that the work was not under warranty.  They overcharged for shoddy work and then didn't want to 'honor' their warranty.  I will not use them again and advise anyone reading this to also be cautious--it's probably best to go with another plumber.

Great Service, well priced, & I love the fact that they are the local small time operation.

Our water heater kept misbehaving, and Creeger Plumbing came out the same day we called. They have great customer service. The four plumbers that helped with trouble shooting and eventually replacing the tank were all very friendly and explained things well. They only charged us once for a service call even though they had to come out three times. I would and will recommend Creeger to anyone with water heater issues.

this company was very good, sent out a service man who knew what he was talking about and fixed my boiler in about an hour. I had two other companies look at it before them and they could'nt find the problem. would highly recommend
