Best Tankless Water Heater Repair in Reno NV

Needing a plumber is never a good thing!   A Leaky bathroom sink that kept setting off the waster sensor alarms had me in need of a plumber.

Since it was an issue covered on my home owners warranty I didn't have a choice on which plumber to call. I was given Van Allen Plumbing's phone number and a work order number. I was concerned that it took 3 days to get me on their schedule -- they are extremely busy. I was pleased with their honesty when they gave me a large window for their arrival time as I was not the first appointment of the day .... Between 8-10am.

At 730 my doorbell rang and it was literally the plumber coming to fix the sink. It was an easy fix ...,don't judge I'm not a plumber and with all the water issues in my building I didn't want to do a ghetto fix!  By 745 the sink was fixed & tested, I paid via check (they do not take credit cards at this time) and they provided a receipt and left!

I hope to never use them again but leaks happen and when they do I now know who to call!

Aaron Vollmoer was our Service Technician. Our water heater went out during the last snow storm. The service was excellent and he came back and was able to replace the water heater even with the snow and the temperatures being as cold as they were. He went above and beyond to make sure we could get our hot water back and truly cared. Thank You!!!!

Called John from a reference from our realtor and boy is he a number I will keep on hand.  We had some funny acting toilets and a slow draining shower.  He came as promised and even returned later in the day to continue the job with parts he had to pick up.  He also gave us GREAT advice for closing up our cabin for the winter to avoid frozen pipes and said if we needed anything, give him a call.  WOW, that is incredible service and ever so nice. I will definitely call on John again if needed.

A toilet clogged in the middle of the night (on a Sunday night, no less) at a vacation rental we manage. I didn't want to risk serious water damage, so I did a quick search and found RAM Plumbing. I requested a quote and they responded within minutes. They arrived and soon my toilet was flushing like it was brand new!

Project
Our issue was that when the dishwasher was draining, ALL of the water was coming out from the air gap into the sink. I do mean ALL of the water.

The good!
Let me start by saying that Cody was very personable, quick and informative.  He immediately diagnosed that it could be either 1. The discharge hose is plugged with food or sludge and would need to be cleaned out or 2. When the garbage disposal was installed, the small plug/knock out was not punched out and removed.

The haggle
So we settled on a price, which they don't tell you in the Yelp app that it is $175 hourly rate. After I said, no, $175 seems excessive to me.  He asked what can you do?.
Anyway, we settled on a price after he talked to the office I guess.
Beware of companies that do not provide an estimate or their hourly rate up front and offer on-site estimates.  I think that is a scam to pressure you into agreeing to their service.  My mistake completely.

Job
When he removed the black discharge hose and looked in the garbage disposal, sure enough, the little plug/knock out piece was still intact!
So he removed that and cleaned out the hose as well.

The not so good
After removing the plug, we wanted it all tested of course and ran the dish washer in drain cycle and the water came through the discharge hose and into garbage disposal and into the drain! Worked great!
I press the switch to garbage disposal and a very loud noise was produced as if something was in there. (That was NOT happening right before this service call).
Cody looked inside garbage disposal and didnt see anything and said it is probably the blades in the disposal that need tightening???  I had never heard of that but OK.
He even said that the little knock out was probably still attached but wasn't in the disposal.
He said we would need to contact an appliance repair person to look at that.
So, I guess I do not understand how a service call can fix one issue, creating a new issue and leave it as it was.

Again, Cody himself, was a very nice person, but I believe this was UNCOMPLETED work on Preferred Plumbing and would NOT recommend them to anyone or use them again.  I just feel that if you pay someone to do a job, it should be done right and NOT cause another issue that was not happening before.  

We ended up doing more research and all advice and YouTube videos indicated that something MUST be in the disposal.  So that evening or next, we took our flashlight and looked inside and guess what was in there!!??  Yup, the little knock out plug!   We had to use some needle nose pliers to remove it and the disposal purred after that.   So, because of an uncompleted job that we paid for, we had to still fix the issue ourselves....

We just bought a new house and we needed a lot of plumbing work done. We called Johnson Plumbing to fix some toilets, leaks in a sink and install new faucets. They gave us a quick appointment and began the work. The plumbers were very professional and showed up right on time.

I was warned by Home Depot that they have had a problem with the installation of the kitchen sink faucets that we purchased because plumbers were not installing them properly and they often leaked. We have not had one leaking problem with our faucets and the plumber stayed to make sure they were working fine with no leaks. Our house fixtures now look and work great!

This type of quality service is hard to find these days. Thank you Johnson Plumbing for upholding the old school type of service that all companies should call standard.

It's so hard to find honest, reliable trades in the Tahoe Basin but Hoffman Plumbing is definitely one of them.  We had them come out to prep a gas line for a new gas stove and they were awesome.  They returned our phone calls promptly, were very proactive (stopped by the day before the scheduled job to make sure they brought the required tools and fixtures), showed up on time and did great work.  The plumber was also very friendly.  Highly recommended.

First some quick background - we have been fully quarantined with a high risk person living with us (age & immune system compromised due to chemotherapy).  So, when we came out to water leaking all over our garage, we were very worried about how we were going to take care of it safely.  I called up Jay based on the positive Yelp reviews, and he completely understood our situation and immediately put us at ease.  He was able to give us a competitive estimate on a new water heater install based on pictures of our setup, performed excellent quality work at the agreed-upon price, and most importantly for us in this current crazy situation - was able to handle everything completely contact-free!

Thank you Jay for the excellent work you did for us, and especially for the way you went about it!  We were back to normal way faster than I would have dreamed possible after walking out to a wet garage, and we didn't feel like our situation had been compromised at all.

Gary's Plumbing is always available for plumbing issues. They are very knowledgeable and price competitive.

Installed a gas line for a natural gas BBQ. Install was professionally done. His customer service and care is worth 6 stars. He explained that he could get the permits and arrange for inspection but that is would cost more. I opted to get the permit and inspection myself. He explained the whole process to me free of charge...to a T! I got many referrals explaining that he is the best plumber in town and I was not disappointed. Professional installation with in person customer service. Plan ahead as he is very busy.

Came back from a trip and discovered our water heater was not working Called another company who can out and restarted the pilot light for $100 because it was overtime. Were told it would need other parts that would cost about $400. Pilot light went out and the company said it would take about a week to get these parts. Called D& D and Kyle came out   He tried to fix it but found he needed a special part. He came back the next morning and repaired the water heater. Kyle was very knowledgeable and friendly and did a great job. Also the cost was almost half what the other company had quoted. I will definitely use D&D plumbing again and highly recommend this company

I found Mike (Mansfield Plumbing) through Yelp and I'm so grateful I did.  I feel I've found a plumber for life - which is priceless when you need plumbing services.

Mike came out to provide tankless water heater maintenance.  He was on time, knowledgeable and explained in detail what he was going to do.  He was quick, thoroughly cleaned up afterwards and reasonably priced.  

It's the big things (knowledge, pricing, prompt, communication - all of which he excels) but it's also the little things.  It's a relatively new construction and he noticed that there was a plastic plug (instead of copper).  While he could've left it, he knew it was good to change to copper.   He had the plug with him, and while it likely didn't cost much for the part, he didn't charge me (even though I offered to pay for it).  

I highly recommend him!

Have had a few plumbing issues over the past couple of months.  Geo was sent out same day to respond.   He's been so very easy to talk with.  Explains everything that's going on and what he's doing to fix the issue.  Very personable and professional !  Highly recommend Hoffman Plumbing !

I should have written this review last year, but my husband had recently passed away and my mind couldn't take any more.
Our bathroom drains were backing up, my nephew and grandson had tried without success to ream out the drains and we had to call a plumber.
Didn't want to call either of the other two (who shall remain nameless)  that we had used before. The prices were outrageous! The Plumbing Doctor was new to me, so I gave him a call. Mark arrived promptly, and did his best to reopen the drains that day, reaming it out as far as the street, without success. I asked how much I owed him, and he said he would come back the next day, that he couldn't charge me if he couldn't open the drains. The City of Reno was working on the sewer system and we have had problems with sewer backup before when they were working.
The next day Mark returned. I called and told him that the City was out in front of the house. He went out to speak with the workers, then returned telling me that we were blocked at the street  with a huge plug of baby wipes which we do not use, so I assume that when the workers were flushing the sewer it was washed down to us from further on. Mark then flushed out our sewer again, this time successfully. His cost for all of the time spent with us was very reasonable, He was kind, courteous, and considerate. I will call him again.He is the best!

Excellent service. I made an appointment with Mike to fix a burst pipe and he arrived on time while providing appointment updates via text message. He quickly identified the problem and fixed it. Cleaned up the work space and was very professional. Great value. I highly recommend Mike for any plumbing issues.

The guy who worked with me is named Jay. They were fantastic. Very professional. Excellent communication. Cleaned up the job site very well afterwards. I had my Orangeburg pipe replaced. They dug a hole in my basement and another hole by the sidewalk with an excavator. They put a tool through the holes to break up the old pipe, then put a new pipe through the hole and connected it on both ends. I preferred this solution to others I was quoted because it had more of a guarantee to not fail than the liners. They also installed a new clean out and a back flow preventer. Basically if the city line were to ever back up, my basement will never flood with sewage. Overall the price was extremely reasonable.

Do not use this service, he's dishonest and ripped us off for $750 and did no work. I tried to talk to him and he hung up on me and refused to answer when i called back. I've reported him for doing business with no city business licenses and now will take him to court and get our money back. Also just found out he doesn't  even know how to do the job yet he took our money knowing that. No wonder he requires 75% up front. He's a thief.

He also bid $1,000 to install a kitchen water filter system and a gate. We knew that was outrageous and hired someone else to do both items for a total of $300 and that person did an excellent job. Here's the breakdown just to give you an idea how badly this guy will gouge you with pricing.

Gate - $187.50

Save yourself and avoid this guy, not to mention he admitted showing up at our house with covid and didn't tell us until it was too late. My husband and I are still trying to get through it, I ended up with covid pneumonia.
