I had them come out to do an estimate on a job; 10 days later, still no word from them. I have called and asked about the estimate, they're working on it, or had other excuses. Finally called out Ben Franklin Plumbing to actually get the work done.

I chose D&D to plumb some equipment at my shop really just because they were so close to me. If figured if they were close... they could get me avid in a hurry. I've had some bad experiences with plumbers over the years and was braced for a bid that was higher than I wanted to pay (always is it thus!).
But much to my pleasure, the bid was totally reasonable. As expected, they had someone over quickly. I had 2 other plumbing firms come by to bid... but got tired of waiting for a response. D&D got the work done before the other firms got their bids to me. And while one of those bids was 2% lower than what I paid D&D, I didn't care. I needed the work done, and it was.
Based on my experience, I have to say the first reviewer's experience is quite a surprise: My experience was the exact opposite. Everyone can have a bad day I guess.
Was referred and made an appt
For tankless descaling. Couldn't be happier. Albert was the plumber and he was fantastic. The following day I called back after low hot water pressure and Albert came back over within 20 min
Small cleaning issue but he resolved the problem and was professional and thorough. Next visit I will refrain from consuming his time with questions but will refer them and make them my go to plumbers!

My condo in Incline Village had a gas line leak last August and they were able to schedule a replacement in record time, even though they had many other schedule conflicts. Although they did charge overtime, job was excellent and I was extremely pleased with the quality of work and knowledgeable staff.
The fact they charge for travel time is why I give them one star. I won't even consider using a service that my time starts once the driver is in route. That's ridiculous.
I called D&D Plumbing a few months ago about my water heater not working properly. I had an appointment and they could have easily sent a repair person out and replaced my water heater. But the repair person called me a few hours before and told me that maybe the thermostat is just sticking as this tends to happen after about 10 years. He told me to change the setting a few times to get the water heater to fire and then reset it to the normal temperature setting. Sure enough it worked. I have had D&D replace a few faucets in my house as well and the service is just the best.
After reading reviews now I see a pattern. Jerry worst customer service! Unprofessional! After trying for a month to have him return my calls (receptionist said he was there then came back and said he just left) of course he did⁉ fly by night .. glad I found out before engaging their service. Can't imagine doing business with them‼

D&D showed up on a holiday weekend (Saturday) and determined my vacuum breaker was bad & leaking. I thought it was just going to be the PVC pipes going to & from the vacuum breaker.
At D&D's suggestion and to save me some money, the rest of the work was able to be done on a regular week day, instead of on the weekend, which would have been at a higher off-hours/holiday price rate.
The photo is of the leaking pipe/breaker prior to replacement.
Our experience with D & D Plumbing has been fantastic. Alan B. is straight forward, hard working, personable, and reliable. Through insurance companies, we were forced to work with 2 other local pumping companies and they did not hold a candle to D & D Plumbing. The other companies submitted proposals that did not even align with the zones, modules, thermostats, and overall radiant heating system. D & D Plumbing diagnosed the issue immediately and accurately. Thank you, thank you!
This past spring we called this company in to give us a bid on a project and though they showed up on time, we're very courteous, and left with the promise of a bid within the week, I couldn't get any follow up response. I spent weeks calling the office and leaving messages but the technician that visited us wouldn't even call us back to say they couldn't do the job or didn't have time to do the job...no word back at all.
I was delighted with NEIL at D & D Plumbing - He was kind, courteous, compassionate, and I (being a single woman, alone with him) felt very safe and at ease. He was so knowledgeable and kept checking in with me, letting me know how much longer he would be. He made a bad situation (ewww....toilets and plumbing and leaks, oh my!) manageable and borderline pleasant. Give NEIL a RAISE. Amen. Thanks D & D!

My preference of communication was email. They were willing to give me a quote for the job in an email. They went above and beyond when communicating with me and gave accurate detailed advice. The plumber arrived on schedule. And soon I had a 50 gallon natural gas hot water heater removed and replaced with a brand new Bradford water heater. Along with the State required expansion tank. It took the plumber approximately five hours to complete the job.
Thank you D&D Plumbing! Will look forward to doing business with you again in the future.

I had an outdoor faucet that was leaking. I called my normal plumbing company and the guy said they don't carry parts for that faucet. He said they'd have to tear the wall out and put in an access panel. He left. No charge but he left. In comes D&D plumber named JOHNNY and he did have to cut a hole to change faucet, no access panel needed and when the new one needs replacement years from now, we can just pull it out and replace it. Easy peasy. JOHNNY had the easiest and best solution. THANKS D&D Plumbing. Recommend.

We have used D & D whenever we have had a plumbing issue. They are always on time and professional. I don't think we would use anyone else. Fortunately for us, they always send Albert to our home. He is so courteous and he gets the job done. Today, we had a job that we thought was going to be a large, expensive project. Albert looked at it and said he would be back. He came back with a part ($14). He installed the part and was done. We had been told prior that we would probably need a whole new fixture. D & D does not try to rob you blind. They do the work and attempt to keep the costs down. I would recommend them highly, without reservation.

Their work is first rate, their people are friendly. But watch out for their bids. If they run into problems you can get into overruns and end up fighting later. Get all change requests in writing and up front with new bids.

From the office staff to the service technicians, I cannot say enough about how wonderful the D&D team is. In my experience, they're always friendly and knowledgeable and, unlike so many service businesses, I've found when they give you a window for when they'll be there they stick to it. Highly recommend.
D & D gave me honest, FREE advice before scheduling an appointment. I was able to fix my garbage disposal problem in 15 seconds. Next time I need an appointment with a plumber, THIS is who we will call. (Several other companies communicated with me and said they would have to make an appointment - at a minimum charge of $99)
I had an emergency leak on a gate valve at 7pm. I called 4 plumbing business who responded were busy, I can come by at noon tomorrow. And my favorite Not tonight.
I called DandD. The person who answered was knowledgeable and quick to respond. She had Albert call me within 3 minutes and discuss the issue. He was at my house with all the proper tools in 20 minutes. He was nice even though my 3 lb chihuahua barked at him the ENTIRE time. He giggled and smiled. I will never call anyone but DandD plumbing.

I had a solar panel system installed in 1979 that was to heat water for a hot tub. The hot tub had been removed over 20 years ago yet, unbelievably, the system was still operational. It was in a state of disrepair, and had to be disconnected, capped off, and disengaged from the main house water heater. It was a complex job that took some time to determine what needed to be done and Juan handled it all with the utmost patience and professionalism. The site was left neat and clean. I highly recommend D & D for your plumbing needs.
Our 20+ year old solar system finally had a leak in the the coil located in the attic. Two other plumbing companies had a hand in trying to fix what was originally pronounced a fairly simple, cheap problem but, after racking up $650 in bills, I had parts but the repairs weren't finished and the system wasn't operational. I moved on to D&D, just based on their website and that they worked on solar. Alan was the first contact and he finished up the actual plumbing connections to the water heater. He was very professional and focused. I asked for a demo on how all the valves etc worked, particularly how to shut everything down if there was a problem in the future. We decided a video would be a good idea for future reference and now I have that on file so I can take care of it myself! The plumbing was repaired but the system failed to restart so Alan called in Jerry, one of the owners I believe, and he diagnosed a bad master controller. After all that time and $$, I was about to just cut the whole thing off and call it but Jerry was determined to get it going again. I got a bid for the balance of what he thought he could do and, whereas it wasn't cheap, it was fair for all the effort he put in. Jerry mentioned he thought he had a replacement for the original controller back at his shop. A few days later, there he was with an old...vintage...box with my 20+ year old model controller! I told him I felt like he was Willy Wonka, kind of magical! I was fascinated by how dogged and interested in all this he was! He worked with the original controller for a few hours, systematically trying to make it work. Unfortunately, it didn't and again I was about to give up. Not Jerry! He went away for another week or so, drew up a schematic and fabricated it and came back for another couple of hours. Problem solved. The system is working perfectly, it looks great with all the nice, new parts and I am so happy with everything D&D did. It wasn't simple. It wasn't cheap, like the first plumber told me. (That's the point where I may have just not repaired it but I got bad information. ) D&D pulled it out and got it going again with some real dedication and smarts. I never felt like it wouldn't get done, even though it was a true project. It's good for another 20!

I woke up with no heat this morning and called my usual heating co. , waited all morning and when the serviceman arrived he said they don't do boiler systems. Got a hold of D& D and the girl was so kind on the phone and was able to get someone here by 4:00. I have heat now and can't thank the company enough for the kind and prompt service. D&D you are now my new heating co. And will def. use you for other plumbing needs too!
We've had D&D out twice so far, once they fixed a leak caused by homebuilder shortcuts, and more recently they replaced a clogged dishwasher drain pipe while simultaneously neatening up some of the loose tubes under the sink.
Always professional, and very thorough. Plus, the second gentleman who came out had full notes from the first visit, so he knew that he might need to look out for additional homebuilder mistakes.
Glad to have a reliable plumbing service to fall back on. Turnaround time was good too, the dishwasher stopped draining on Monday and was fixed by Wednesday.
I'm a little conflicted with this company. The plumber who came out the first time to check a leak with my AC fan coil unit told us that the coil is leaking and the whole unit will need replacement. I called for second opinion and a different guy came out to check. He concluded that the drain was clogged which caused the leak. No leak from coil was found. I think the first guy did not do a thorough job investigating. The second guy was more thorough and honest. Unfortunately, I can't give them a 5 star.
I called on Tuesday 5/12 because my hot water heater had stopped giving me hot water on Mother's Day. They were able to have someone come out first thing Wednesday morning. I was amazed since the other company I called on Monday, the earliest they could come was Friday afternoon unless I wanted to pay time and a half $150. an hour. Well, I'm not working due to COVID, and that was outrageous. So D&D Plumbing got my business. Johnny was my technician, and he did everything he could, but my hot water heater thermostat was cracked and had to be replaced. His service was excellent. The only reason I didn't give D&D five stars is that I thought the final price was high. They charged $250 for the thermostat and my research shows the average price of $165. Also, they charge for travel time. The bill was about $150 more than I expected. But the service was great. Next time I will ask for the prices BEFORE I have the work done. Johnny was great and explained things to me which was very appreciated

It's unfortunate that zero or negative stars are not an option. Our bathroom steam unit was acting up -- D&D said we needed to replace it for $6,700.
Since a brand new steam unit can be had for ~$2,000 I asked them to itemize parts and labor but Jerry the service manager refused as that was against policy. That is wrong on many levels so I'm exploring Nevada's consumer protection laws. Stay tuned on that.
In the meantime here's the amazing happy ending... my wife found a fantastic electrician who immediately diagnosed the issue as a loose fuse. The bill was $40 and I gave the electrician a Benjamin.
I repeat, D&D said a $6,700 steam unit replacement was required, and someone competent immediately figured out it was a loose fuse and charged me $40!
I have countless ideas on what D&D should stand for (hint: Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels co-star in this 1994 comedy). These guys are either incompetent or thieves and neither is acceptable. BB (buyer beware) with D&D.
We wanted to give a high recommendation as we are so pleased with the work by D and D Plumbing today! We had a few items that we needed help with including a regulator that was not working with our house water pressure at 120psi, our hot water heater was making noises after trying to unsuccesfully clean it out and drain it ourselves, and an expansion chamber that was not working. Albert came out, he was so pleasant to have at our house, he fixed and replaced the items needed without any push at all to replace our water heater (that is 18 yrs old now), he was sharp, helpful, and we are so very glad we called D and D. They have our highest recommendation and we will definitely use them again whenever we need a plumber!!
They scheduled me within one day of my phone request. Albert was great very careful, did a fine job. We are so happy with the work and the promptness! And the labor charge was reasonable. Would definitely use them again.
First and foremost ask for Johnny he is the real gem when it comes to service, I called because my pilot light went out and explained the troubleshooting steps I took to see if I could get it to light and he knew what was needed he came out and was done in no time it was after hours so the rate was 150 an hour plus parts but it was worth every penny for the dedication and service received from Johnny if I could give 10 stars I would.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! I currently manage an apartment complex and had D&D out over 4 weeks ago to give me a bid. Every week I would call in they had some new excuse or reason as to why they didn't get it over to me. This is a large job and was going to cost a good amount to complete. After finally being fed up with the lack of communication I called once more to speak with Jerry and guess what!? He's out of town for another week! The receptionist Stacy gave me nothing but snippy responses when I wanted answers. If they don't care about a corporate account (you know the kind that keep them in business), what makes you think they will be overly concerned with your issues however big or small? So take my advice and DO NOT USE THEM!!!!! I would rate zero stars if that was an option seeing as in how I never even got a bid for them to attempt to complete the job.
D&D doesn't back up work. Had them come out to fix an issue however the issue returned in less than 10 days. Was told by D&D (in a rather stand-offish manner) they would come back to rectify, but fully charge me again.
I will avoid using D&D for future use at my property.

Gerry from D&D Plumbing came out to look at my job in response for me asking for quotes on a broken pipe connection from my kitchen sink going into my sewer line in my crawlspace. He was very professional and knowledgeable and was able to clearly map out for me -after going down in my crawlspace and looking at the job - exactly what needed to be done and gave me a very good price to fix it. Today Kyle and Javier came and did the work. Everyone from the company that I delt with were great and did a wonderful job and wore masks in my home. I will definitely hire this company in the future if the need arises.

We called them tonight, a Friday, at 8pm when our bath tub faucet was leaking. Technician Scott was here within 20 minutes and had it fixed in less than half an hour. He was super friendly and professional. They also charged us half what we were quoted by another after hours plumber. Would absolutely use this company again.

I have used D&D for several projects since moving here 5 years ago, including installing a new water heater. They are the best. Quick response, reasonable prices. I have recently had to call them twice when the pilot light went out on the hot water heater. Both times they were able to divert a service person who had just completed a job to my house within an hour. And, they didn't charge me! Anytime someone is looking for a plumber I always try to steer them to D&D.

Came back from a trip and discovered our water heater was not working Called another company who can out and restarted the pilot light for $100 because it was overtime. Were told it would need other parts that would cost about $400. Pilot light went out and the company said it would take about a week to get these parts. Called D& D and Kyle came out He tried to fix it but found he needed a special part. He came back the next morning and repaired the water heater. Kyle was very knowledgeable and friendly and did a great job. Also the cost was almost half what the other company had quoted. I will definitely use D&D plumbing again and highly recommend this company

I worked with D&D plumbing during our kitchen remodel. The technician was knowledgeable and friendly and all the services were done promptly.
And then a mistake was made that left two foot long gouges in brand new hardwood floor that was installed.
After this was done, the technician assured me that D&D plumbing would take care of it. We were told to get a quote by the company who installed the hardwood on how much it would cost to fix it. D&D plumbing REFUSED to pay for this. Jerry (the VP) offered to come inspect the damage. We were then in a holding pattern for months while continuing to be asked to pay our bill. Finally, after 6 months, Jerry (the VP) came out to our house and never once admitted that his company made a mistake, only trying to turn it around saying That's what's going to happen with hardwood; scratches happen. Although he did re-polish the floor, and it admittedly looks better than before, the gouges will never go away.
Not once did anybody sympathize with us, offer us any compensation, or attempt to truly work with us. If I could give them 1.5 stars I would because they are a friendly bunch of people, but I will never work with them or recommend them to anyone.
It's 1 star because I am extremely frustrated by their surprise pricing. When we called and asked what their pricing was, we were quoted a service fee of $140. We were on vacation in our grandmother's condo and the heater was broken. It's Easter weekend and the local company wasn't available. The part for the heater was simple and the job took tops a half hour. We were charged $427.00. Apparently there is a $95/hr travel fee that was not disclosed when we scheduled. I understand the fee. We have owned a carpet cleaning business for 12 years in Sonoma county. Upfront pricing is an important part of doing business. The service man was kind and courteous and did his job well. Unfortunately this was overshadowed by our sticker shock. It was just a large unexpected expense that could have been avoided if we had been told about the travel fee when we called and scheduled the job. It's just bad business. If you know a customer is out of the area, it is underhanded not to tell them you will be charging $300 just to drive to them. Also today just happened to be a heavy traffic day so it took extra long to get here. ?? It just feels bad to be taken advantage of.
In reply to the business response: I feel that is slightly disingenuous. We asked on our initial call and when we spoke with the technician what the service fee was. We were told 142.50. Obviously we didn't ask the right questions. There was no mention of door to door or explanation of what that means either time. Just a big surprise for us. You can be sure that in the future we will always clarify that with future companies. I understand that the burden doesn't belong to the company to make sure the customer understands. It's just good business to do so.

We've used D&D Plumbing for years, since we moved into our house, because they inspected our solar panels when we moved in, and they became experts in our solar system, which is old, antiquated, and hard to maintain. They can do it, and have been our go-to guys to maintain it and our heater ever since.
They would get five stars for sure from us, because they've always taken superior care of us, until the last time they came out. My husband's shower had a serious leak, and our solar system was making a loud sound in the attic. John came out and found the source of the shower leak, and took care of the problem in the attic. He had to order a part for the shower, and said it would be in in about a week. Everything was fine.
When the part came in, they sent a different person out to install it, and all he knew was he had a box. My husband's shower had a special type of setting that allowed it to preset a temperature and remember it in the dial, and when the guy installed it, he installed it upside down, rendering it useless. As soon as my husband came home, he saw it was wrong, and called them. They had to come back out and install it correctly, which took them a few days.
Other than that, they have taken care of us pretty well, and I'd recommend them to others. They are pricey, as others have noted, but their quality of work is usually good, and they will work with you if you let them know you're on a budget.
I have had nothing but great response and service from D&D plumbing. I made the mistake of peeling a few too many hardboiled eggs (no one told me you shouldn't put them down the disposal .. OOPS!) and clogging up the disposal/drain. They got someone out to my house and he had the problem fixed in no time after he got all the eggshells out. I was turned onto this company from a friend when I told them what was wrong and they steered me in the right direction.
Teach your workers how to drive. If your guys don't know how to drive Mt rose without pulling over to let cars pass or at least go more than 25 mph, don't send them up there!
