(Details, below Summary, provided as relevant as COVID-19 mandates lifting it is becoming important to identify and share how businesses choose to address safety of their staff and clients.)
Summary: Truel's was friendly and polite throughout the entirety of the repair. They were knowledgeable and professional as to their craft/skills, communicative and nice.
Details: I was a Guest (in town for medical reasons) in Friend's second floor apartment, in an older, historic building. After our evening baths, the Landlord called to inform of a leak in the downstairs unit, presumably from my Friend's bathtub.
Mid morning, Truel's arrived, unannounced, along with the Landlord's Representative, to repair the leak. Prompt attention to urgent repairs is acknowledged and appreciated but, ideally, a little notice of the approximate time of the repair would have better facilitated our readiness to be out of the bathroom and properly dressed. Neither my Friend nor I were presentable nor prepared to receive guests. (It's a small apartment with no options for privacy elsewhere.)
I am severely immune compromised and immediately inquired as to whether these gentlemen, now in the apartment, were vaccinated against COVID-19; they were not nor did they offer to wear masks, protective coverings nor gloves.
They did assure us they'd be done quickly, and shared their expected repair timeframe.
I was baffled that absolutely nothing was done to address the seriousness of my COVID-19 concerns ~ due to lack of notice, there was no time to partition-off the two distinct areas the Repairmen needed to access, nor were any rescheduling offers made, no compromise solutions of any sort. Clearly, there was no awareness of the seriousness of the situation.
Upon completion of the initial diagnostic evaluation, Truel's repairmen stated they'd need to leave to acquire needed parts. This short break provided me an opportunity to change from my pajamas into regular clothes and leave the apartment, so as to minimize my exposure.
Upon Truel's return, my Friend informed me that the repair was quickly completed and the repairmen had left.
Next, all the bed linens, just inches away from one of the tub access areas, required a full changing as did the bathroom linens. The bathroom had to be sanitized and cleaned. It was disappointing that the repairmen's bootprints were still evident in the bottom of the bathtub and no effort was taken to clean the tub, after the repair.
Most all of the extra efforts unexpectedly imposed on and required of us today could have been avoided with a bit of notice prior to repairs being made. While urgent, the leak itself was not actively dripping once the tub was drained. The Landlord has been most gracious in allowing my stay for current medical situation and my Friend is a longtime tenant here. There was likely an understanding, that an unannounced but prompt repair of an urgent leak would not be problematic. I was in the uncomfortable position of having to choose to share aloud my health situation with strangers and hoping they were aware of the severity of the risks involved. (Even an hour rescheduling would have helped things a lot!) Unfortunately, this was not the case today. I am fully confident there was no ill will nor malice intended by the Landlord, Truel's, nor my Friend or myself in this unfortunate situation today.
Hopefully, sharing this experience will enhance Truel's reputation of solid, honest and reasonable service and allow for placement of new protocols to address future similar situations. We are all in this together. Be well. Be kind.

I've been knowing the owner of the company for a while now, anytime I have any issues with plumbing they are the first person I call. I've never had any issues with them overcharging me or being dishonest about how much work I need for my job.

Joe the Plumber is the Wonderful!! Joe is so honest, understanding, patient, thoughtful, and just a all around good guy. We had some issues and he helped us through all the problems - even over the weekend!! We will always call Joe for any plumbing needs!! And he has doggie treats!!

Dave responded to my message first thing the same morning. He started out by telling me he wanted to do some free troubleshooting and we ended there. Although we did not have to go any further then the troubleshooting step if I ever have to you can bet this will be the first company I call. Thanks Dave.

We are giving this company a one star only because the lady that answers the phone was kind and helpful. The plumbers were dismissive, uncommunicative and spoke to us with disrespect. They were supposed to show up on a Friday afternoon and never did. They never called with an explanation. They just didn't show up in an emergency situation. The water ran all weekend. When we called them on a Monday they were defensive and never offered an apology for not showing up. They were going to charge us an astronomical amount. We then called another plumber who immediately came and turned off the water. They were kind and charged us half the amount.

I called them for a shower faucet leak. They ended up installing a new single handle faucet and I must admit that they did a good job even if it was a bit pricey (which I paid in cash). Problem was that they knocked 6 tiles off my shower wall. I was told they would send out a tile setter to fix it in a couple days. well, after I think it was 5-6 days, I emailed them and they ignored me with no response. I waited until the 8th day and called them. I was told they was aware of the problem and that they would contact Mike the Plumber and if he hasn't contacted a tile setter that they would and call me later that day which they didn't do. The faucet was installed on the 7th and here it is the 22th and I've heard nothing.

Terrible price! Changed the amount after the work was done. On the phone it was 45$ for service + parts to fix + 100/hr no minimum--- work took 15 minutes (25$) + 50 cents part according to rep + $45 service = 70.50$. He charged me 231$ because there's more to it than just parts. Total scam! Use someone else

What a joke. I called them to replace gas control valve. Told them exactly what the problem was and sent pictures of the valve and the model number of the water heater. He was there for an hour. Left to go eat lunch. Came back for an hour, and stayed on the phone with his boss getting told what to do. Both of the gas hoses he put back were leaking. The guy didn't even check them. I smelled gas immediately. After the repair I was given a $675 bill for a $135 valve. I asked how much the part was and how much per hour on labor? No real answers. Please don't use these crooks.

Be very careful when getting a bid from Pipe Doctors. I wish I had paid more attention to the other reviews about their predatory charges and billing methods and to find out that the plumbers they send are not always licensed plumbers. I called Pipe Doctors out to give an estimate on several jobs I needed, one of which included replacing a couple fittings on the main trunk from the home. The guy that came out quoted this specific part of the repairs at $1200 because he was unsure how much had to be replaced. They also wanted a deposit of $1200 to secure the job, this seemed high priced and odd to me but I unfortunately signed the quote thinking this was an estimate as most places do and with there being several other items I needed done I thought maybe it was just itemized this way as a package price or something. After the job the plumber called and said that the job was $699 and he needed to run my card again because they could not take it out of the deposit. Some other issues came up with our bathroom and we needed to hire out a general contractor instead so I wanted to get a refund on our deposit of $1200. The manager called me back 3 days later and told me that even though the technician that did the job billed it at $699, I agreed to pay more so that is what they are taking. So after this was completed I paid $1200 for 1 90 degree fitting and 1 45 degree fitting to be replaced, this took less than 3 hours to do. These guys charged me over $400/per hour for this job, more than double the average per hour cost of a plumber! The technician that did the work was nice and professional but the company and his manager are not honest with their prices and will take advantage of you when they can. DO NOT do business with pipe doctors.

Last year I had a slab leak. I called and they sent out a plumber with this hi tech equipment and found it for me in my hall bath. The gentle man was very nice and polite and did a great job. The guys who can me and repair it also did a great job and very respectful. When they cut into the wall behind the tub (hall closet) they found a problem that I was told by my builder 38 yrs ago that was fixed before the house was Sheet rocked. NOPE. My builder lied to me. The problem was that my tub drain was not hooked up but empted into a hole in the slab. Lucky I never used it that much over the years. Since I also had the tub faucet set leaking I had them replace it. Due to all the covid and I not wanting to go out shopping, the guy working on that found exactly what I wanted for me and then installed it. My plumbing problems were a bit more complex then just a simple slab leak. Sure it cost me more then expected but it was not their fault. I goes back to issues with my house. I was and am very happy with their service and all things considered for what had to be done, I feel the price was reasonable for the amount of work that was involved. I highly recommend them. You might find cheaper but I think you get what you pay for. My job was not easy and not a company that did not have top plumbers.

I have had maintenance contract w this company for years. At December 2021 heater maintenance the tech said a motor was out. I checked with two other companies and both told me there was nothing wrong with the motor. Beware!
