Best Plumbing Inspection in Oakland CA

Tiberio V. Came right away to check out our water heater that went kaput (pretty much died on us).  The water heater was really old and the pilot light never went back on and we decided to have it replaced.  Tiberio, after diagnosing the problem, came the next day early to replace the water heater with a new modern one, ours was 12 years old. He went out of his way to help us soon because I was going back to work from my days off and he showed a sense of urgency which I appreciated.  Tiberio is a very hard worker, interesting to chat and talk to, and very professional.  He is as skinny as a bean pole, but I was so impressed how he was able to haul the new water heater in alone and take the old one out alone without any extra help.  I was really impressed with his work ethic, he was all business and not afraid to get down and dirty and his confidence and knowledge of his craft made me trust his judgement. He finished pretty quick, a couple hours or so I think (more or less) and everything seems to be working properly and we have hot shower water now!

He also has a good heart and as someone who has lost my father recently, I appreciate his sympathy and assistance and pray for his continued success.  Thank you Tiberio and Van Go Rooter SSF.

We had a slow leak in our garage ceiling that we noticed leaked when we used the kitchen sink and one of our showers.  Vladimir (the owner) came the next day, found the source of the leak and fixed it in a little over 2 hours (involved cutting some dry wall in the ceiling and behind the dishwasher).

Relieved to have found someone trustworthy and knowledgeable to contact for future problems.  Price was reasonable.  Support small business and give this business a try!

John is amazing. He's my first call for services. He arrives on time, he estimates how long it will take correctly. And doesn't up charge if it ends up being tricky. Honorable and scarce in this day and age.

Toilet plugged by kids and the standard drain auger failed to dislodge the plug.  Andres responded same day, was prompt, courteous, clean, quick, and  followed good masking protocols in the house.  He replaced the wax seal after removing the toilet and tightened up some of the loose parts, leaving the toilet in better shape.  I normally don't leave 5 star reviews but honestly have nothing to complain about.  Price was about median for per hour cost from my experience with plumbers.

We were required by EB-MUD to have the 'lateral sewer' inspected and brought to regulatory standard. We chose Pipe Spy Inc to do the job. Partner Heiko made the inspection, discussed the work to be done and submitted a competitive and coherent  estimate. I must state they were NOT inexpensive to do the whole show. In the end this included a 2 part, right angle trenchless replacement of our 109 year old sewer lines including a section running across the lot underneath the house to connect up to the lateral line to the street !

The work was done to a high standard, the crew on the job were professional, and the outcome met full standard with the certificate issued by EB-MUD within 2 days of the final inspection.

The lateral sewer process is the functional equivalent of giving your home a full blown colonoscopy followed by a major GI Tract bi-pass operation. Doing right the first time is important.

Luis knows what he is doing! He responded quick and came at the time he said. He helped us with what was at first a clogged drain then an old rusty pipe. His prices are great and his work is incredible. Fast and didn't complain about the mess we had. Thank you!!!

Fast friendly knowledgeable, but definitely not inexpensive. That  base fee is a hard pill to swallow if the problem only needs a small fix

I could give a 1 star but I won't because I did not see them do work just a quote and don't think its fair to ruin a business rating it that way.  I'm just rating them so everyone knows what happened and you can decide for yourself whether you want to do business with them or at least protect yourself when you do by negotiating a reasonable price.

I called someone at Gator and they quoted me $600 to replace a water heater.  Thats outrageous!  Labor does not cost that much, a professional can slam one in under few hours if that much for around $300 maybe for this area.  

Being that I am in the Bay Area, I'm not out in some boonesville where the plumber has to drive all the way out with the water heater in hand, I'd say price of 300 is still high not including the water but definitely not 600 double, its as much as the cost of the water heater.

This business owner also subleases his work, he does not come out himself, I was referred to someone else.  Not sure if that person was even licensed to guarantee the work.  How can you ever tell other than thru Yelp reviews.  Thank you Yelp for keeping them honest.

Also the second guy he referred was very pushy.  He wanted me to meet him at Home Depot so I can purchase the water heater to haul it back to my house.  For $600 you should take down the model I want which was to upgrade to 50 gal 12 yrs warranty, call around for me, get it, and I pay him once for both the cost of water heater ($900) + labor ($600) with invoice.  Now maybe with some excellent customer service I maaaaay pay that much but no, they have me run around myself, gather the info, calling around Home Depot/Lowes and on top he has the audacity to keep pestering me to meet him at the Home Depot and tells me ...no, no, they have 6 yrs, 6 yrs is good.  I don't want 6 yrs I want 12 yrs, lemme call around to make sure they have it stock for christ sake before I waste time coming out.  The worker is telling the owner what he wants, are you serious.  Am I working for you or are you working for me?

No, we must demand better service and we shouldn't get gouged like this.  Please protect yourself.  I think they take advantage because we are out without hot water and that some how they think that gives them permission to rob us blind.  Yes its an emergency but not to take advantage of good folks.  Be aware!   youtube.com/watch?v=OIQ5…

Carlos got the job done! I had four different plumbers come out and tell me I needed $500+ work done and he fixed the issue within 30 minutes.

I am so glad I found a smart honest contractor who figured out what was wrong with my electrical outlet so quickly!  The last electrician I had come look at it tested it but said he could not do anything because the garbage disposal was in the way.  So he charged me $200 and it was still not working.  I called General SF because they know how to remove a garbage disposal and would be able to access the electrical outlet.  Yevgeny was able to get both outlets working in 15-20 minutes and he did not even need to remove the garbage disposal.  I highly recommend him and thank him for doing such a great service!!!

Fast respone, clean quality work.  They showed up within an hour, exactly when they said would.  They gave updates constantly.  I needed a new kitchen faucet and they knew how to install a touchless system with no issue.  I'll use them again.

We had a great experience with this company.  They help move some plumbing lines when we renovated our backyard.  We were so happy we called them when we considered doing a grey water system.  The owner came by since he was the most experienced with installing them.  He was honest and discussed the pros and cons and was able give knowledgeable information about the installation.

Best contractors ever! We needed to have our homes pipes replaced as our water was coming out orange and the pipes were very old. We had multiple company's come out to provide quotes. Julio and his team were sent out by Repipe Specialists to replace our homes pipes. They showed up on time the day of the scheduled job, Julio reviewed all of the work that would be done and answered all of my questions. He even added an additional shut of valve to an area of pipes I wanted to keep in our back yard in case they ever break (I use them for watering the garden). They went above and beyond to lay plastic and floor coverings to keep my home clean as possible during the work. They replaced all of the pipes in one day and were very respectful of our home. The following day again they showed up on time, waited for the inspector and patched up all of the areas that had to be opened for the re piping. They did an amazing job with all of the patchwork and again we're extremely respectful of our home. They cleaned up any messes they made and locked up behind themselves. This company did a trenchless sewer lateral replacement in my house.  They did everything exactly as they promised. Good job.

Helped us install our EQ gas shutoff retrofit!  Fast easy and takes credit card. He also explained everything and taught us how to shut it off and reactivate if needed.
