Please take a moment to read this before you select A.T. Weber for your plumbing work.

I recently hired A.T. Weber to install a recirculating pump for my hot water system in my house.  I reached out for an estimate because of the positive reviews on Yelp and I found the owner (who also did the on-site estimate) to be genuine, knowledgeable and friendly.  I accepted their bid, although slightly higher than two others, because of the Yelp reviews, confidence in the owner, and a desire to support a local business in Alameda.  Unfortunately I came to regret it.

The plumber who performed the work was punctual and also friendly, although he was a bit confused by the specific work I requested.  He didn't know exactly how to install the aquastat I was using to moderate activation of the pump and needed an electrician to come out a few days later to finish the work.

The real problem was that while installing the piping for the pump the plumber unknowingly loosened a nut connecting the main gas line to the hot water heater, causing a gas leak in my (unventilated) garage.   So when I came down there early the next morning to leave the house with my four year old son there was an extremely strong odor of built up gas.  After evacuating my wife, son and newborn daughter out of the house I first tried the main office, leaving an urgent message that was never returned.  Luckily I also happened to have the plumber's cell phone as he had previously called me for directions.  Thankfully he called back after an urgent voicemail and text telling him to come out immediately because I was about to call 911.   Yes, I know, I should have just immediately called 911.

Did he fix the problem quickly?  Yes.  Am I happy that he literally almost killed my family? No.   This was a built up leak in an unventilated area over the course of about 18 hours - the leak odor was very strong.

Look, I understand that mistakes happen.  Even really horrendous mistakes that could jeopardize my family's safety.  But the fact that they never even called me back after I left that message with their office was unacceptable.  In fact, the next time I heard from them was when I got an email from the office manager with a bill for the work a few weeks later with no acknowledgement of what had happened.  After I replied expressing my displeasure, the manager called me and apologized, saying they had lost some voicemails...  Even if that is true a simple apology is not even close to enough.  Maybe others feel differently but my expectation is that they do more than say sorry for a situation like that.  Needless to say, I don't believe I got the service I just received a bill for.

Love these guys - they've done work on our house a few times now and are always knowledgeable, HONEST, efficient, friendly, and clean.  Great sense of humor, too.

The one guy who wrote a negative review must have been thinking about Ollsen, who are happy to come out and cut apart your cast iron vent pipe and cobble together a replacement section, then offer to dig up your driveway to replace the sewer line that doesn't even run under the driveway, all for the low low bargain price of 10 grand. And you get to replace your own driveway on your dime!

Sorry... I digress... If you need a good, reliable, honest, fair, kickass plumber, call A.T. Weber.  Do it.

These guys are great! Had a slow draining sink that we've been dealing with for a long time. We have had other plumbers look at it and they either couldn't do anything with it or they would fix it only for the problem to reappear days later. Well, our tech thoroughly cleared the drain and we havent had a problem with it for 4 months now! Call these guys; they know what they are doing!

Received great service from A.T. Plumbing. My kitchen faucet broke and A.T. Weber's technicians helped me select a replacement faucet I really like and installed it. The technicians were on time, efficient and very nice guys.

Called 2 times to get a repair on my furnace. They finally returned my call and said that their only furnace guy was out until about a week from now. I really wanted to use someone local but unfortunately I'll have to go elsewhere.

Recently had bathtub spout w/diverter replaced--I won't tell you how long I put up with a malfunctioning diverter, as I thought it would be a big job to change this. Jeremy came out to diagnose the problem, had the part and it was fixed, just like that!  I am so very happy to now have full water pressure coming out of my shower head!
Another recent visit by Weber to diagnose problem of malfunctioning ice maker, and water dispenser in frig--a quick look, and I was told to leave the freezer door open for several hours, as the water line in stainless steel freezer doors tend to freeze if the temp goes too low. No charge, and it worked like a charm. Have had this frig for years, and never paid much attention to the temp settings--now I do! Thank you Weber for your great service!

Always on time, always fair pricing, and best of all they do a really, really clean job with everything they do.  We have an old home that is not always easy to work on, but they do a perfect job every time!  We've been using them for a few years and have called them out on several occasions and have never been disappointed.  We wouldn't use anyone else for our plumbing needs!

I can't say enough about Ken. A 40 yr veteran, he came to my house to look at my two furnaces that stopped working in a cold snap.  He immediately took control of the situation and went on a mission to fix my heat.  He evaluated and quoted what I felt was a great price to replace one and went to work on the larger one. ken identified a broken part and contacted several distributors in attempts to get it. He drove To get a possible fix and returned multiple times. He assisted with getting me set up with Justin, who was also extremely professional. Every aspect of dealing with this company and Ken specifically was a great experience.

Todd has done many inspections for my clients and one time while clients were out of town discovered that the water was leaking before he had a chance to inspect it. Without asking or telling me the cost, he went to his truck, got his trusty water hose and started draining the water heater. He saved the clients from coming back to home possibly flooded. Todd and his crew get the work done and always make themselves available with in the time period promised. When they repair a water heater, furnace or a gas-shut off valve or put in a new one they get the work done and they clean up after themselves.

I used Weber in 2006 when I first bought our house and had to add a gas shutoff valve and had a very good experience with them, so imagine my surprise when I received such horrible service over the last week.  I had a water main break last Friday morning, and they assured me they could come back and complete the job by the end of day.  They sent a guy out to take some photos and he told me he would be back with a crew at noon.  At 1:30 I called to find out where they were and was told there was some misunderstanding, that they couldn't actually come that day and that their next available day would be October 1 (keep in mind I had no running water).  I told them it would have been nice to know that morning so I could have done something about it before the weekend.  They called me back and told me they would send a crew on Saturday, which is the main reason I gave them 2 stars instead of 1.  The estimate was to replace the entire water main from the street to the house under the assumption that it was old galvanized pipe.  As they dug to find the line, they realized it was new copper pipe (it must have been replaced in the 1990s with our house renovation from the previous owner).  We speculate that the cause of the break, which was right under the sidewalk in front of our house, was probably weakened when the city replaced the sidewalk, then the tree roots from the tree next to the sidewalk put pressure on the pipe and broke it.  The 2 plumbers spliced and replaced a section of the pipe about one third the length it would have been to replace the whole pipe.  I received a bill for the same amount of the estimate, even though they replaced a much smaller section of the pipe.  I called and was first told that they decided to charge me the full amount because they had to come out on a Saturday.  I reminded them the reason they came out on a Saturday was because they didn't show up on Friday as promised.  The man I spoke with said that he would talk to the owner and get back to me but it didn't sound promising.  He called back the next day and said that they actually were giving me a deal and should have charged me about $800 more than the estimate to replace the whole thing.  Totally bogus and bad customer relations.

A lousy plumber unable to provide service. A guy answered the phone name Christopher. I told him we have a leaky faucet that's dripping under the sink. He said he'll call me back. I waited an hour so I decided to call back. Hi it's me again, oh yeah, I'm working on it! I have used their services twice. However, I was confused used by his comment, I asked working on what? He gave me the run around by telling me I was not in his system! So after awhile I got frustrated and ended that conversation and said I'm calling another plumber.
I'm so glad I did! Smart Rooter & Plumbing showed up within the hour. He was professional, friendly, efficient and better rate. I recommend Smart plumbing to anyone. A.T. Weber was a turn off, rude and unprofessional. So glad they helped me find a plumber I can trust to do a good job.

I called AT Weber a week or so ago and spoke to Chris. Our furnace went out and we had an ancient thermostat (1950s-1960s) we thought might be the cause. Josh came out and recommended NOT changing the thermostat because, despite its age, it was operating correctly and a new thermostat wouldn't match our 1916 gum wood paneling. The furnace failed because a front panel vibrated loose and tripped an access safety switch. There was some question about the invoice, but after a short conversation with Chris all was made well. I thanked him heartily and he said, Just give us a buzz the next time. I will. These guys are great, Frank

It's now 10 days after we first contacted our plumber who installed a hot water heater 3 years ago in our 10-unit condo in Alameda.  Last week, we called AT Weber for help before the Holiday Weekend.  They were not available for us.  One of the officers of the HOA went into their office and were told they would try to get someone over before the end of the day, Friday, before the weekend. He was a no show/no call plumber.  But we also scheduled an appointment for Wednesday morning, telling them specifically what the problem was...an ignition part making a racket.  Our neighbor fiddled with it and got the hot water up and running, for only a short time, but we trusted that AT Weber would be able to resolve our problem.
There's a reason their ratings are trending lower! Josh showed up Wednesday, fiddled with it and said he'd order a part that would take a day or two.  Someone else came by yesterday, Friday, 9 days after we initially contacted our plumber.  Fiddled with it. An hour or two later, there's no hot water, no replacement part, no calls back from them.  Only someone will get the part and put it in today (yesterday). Well, now it is tomorrow, Saturday, and still no hot water, no part, no one who can be reached.
They won't be our plumber any more.  Any you might want to think twice before hiring them or buying a service or system from them if you may need them for anything beyond the initial sale.
Their service has gone downhill and they obviously need a management makeover.

Weber plumbing is the best. I used many plumbers over the years and couldn't recomend any of them until I tried Weber. They come over when they say they will, do what they said they would do and at the price they said they would. Who could ask for more. If you're looking for a reliable local plumbing contractor, call Weber, you'll be glad you did.

This is a long overdue review.  We've used A.T. Weber for a lot of years, on jobs big and small.  Each time it's been a pleasure doing business with them.  Without fail they have been prompt, knowledgeable experts, and left the site working and clean.

Plumbing is something we take for granted until the kitchen sink doesn't drain, the upstairs bathtub is leaking into your living room, or you're doing a major remodel.  When that happens call A.T. Weber.

My husband and I were very happy with their service.  We called them out for a clogged drain.  The man who came was so quick and efficient--he had our laundry room drain cleared in no time, and then he proceeded to fix two other items that had been troubling us for a long time: a loose faucet handle in the bathroom and a leaking/dripping hot water heater relief thingy.  All this he resolved in a single service call for the minimum trip charge.  We couldn't have been happier.

I am incredibly pleased with the work Jeff from A.T. Weber did today. We had a few issues with our toilets and he figured it out quickly and did amazing work. He explained everything to me and made sure I understood. I appreciate the hard work and all of his recommendations. Felix on the phone was awesome and worked with me great! I will use A. T. Weber again, they are all amazing.

BAD WORKMANSHIP, DISHONEST, AND RUDE

They incorrectly installed a water heater thermocouple three years ago. The pilot light went out after our basement flooded from the recent rain, and PG&E refused to relight the pilot light, pointing out the crappy install of the thermocouple. One of A.T. Weber's technicians confirmed this bad workmanship when he came to fix it and said, Oh yeah, THAT'S NOT RIGHT.

When we called A.T. Weber to schedule the fix, they did *not* give a quote for a service call and we remained under the impression they were going to remedy their original bad installation.

We were surprised to get a bill in the mail and when we called to question it, Justin ended up yelling that he quoted us a price over the phone and then actually hung up!

He then called back, deflecting and talking about some things that were not about the issue at hand: that he never advised they would charge to remedy their bad workmanship. He's clearly trying to cover his ass for not doing that. We will be paying the invoice and washing our hands of this business.

I have now used A.T. Weber Plumbing twice, once for a toilet issue and most recently a leaky water heater that had to be replaced. Both times Todd was amazing and made sure both problems were taken care quickly and worked around our schedules to ensure we had hot water again ASAP. He is personable and timely and would recommend him to anyone

I just had an awesome plumbing experience, which I did not think actually existed. But it does!

We have had a leaky toilet in the house for some time and we had just been putting off getting it fixed. Finally I had enough and called AT Weber to see when they could take a look at it. To my surprise and joy, they were able to come out that afternoon. In no time at all, Jeff had that toilet back to a non-leaking condition, had replaced some additional little parts free of charge and even did a couple other little fixes that I am unable to describe. And then at the end, Jeff swept up all of the very small mess he had and the bathroom was as if no one had even ever been there to work on it... well, except for a toilet that now does not leak!

Thank you Jeff and thank you AT Weber.

We could not be more pleased.  Initially, we called to have our drain snaked after experiencing a sewer back up.  We were bummed that it happened a second time in a month, but knew it was time to do a video inspection.  Turns out we had a break in the sewer line.  Two men installed 22 feet of new pipe and put everything back together like it never even happened.  Not only did AT Weber waive the video inspection charge, but ALSO the charge for the 2nd cleanout!  Chris in the office ROCKS!  Also, thanks to Todd and our installation crew.  These guys really came through and will be our go to for all future plumbing issues in this old house.   Thank you again!

Of course I'd rather buy a ticket to Paris than a new hot water heater, but these guys had my utmost confidence from our first interaction.

When Royal Services in Pittsburg proved inept, these guys quickly picked up the slack and impressed the heck out of me. Pleasant phone and email conversations as they worked to find the perfect water heater for my oddly sized outdoor cabinet.

The guy who did the installation spent five hours at my place. He was friendly, neat and tidy. It cost me $1,600, but it's functional, safe and permitted. I have no doubt if I run into any troubles, they'll be there to help make it right. So far, so good.

Highly recommended!

I have to update my previous 5 star review, as I feel the quality of service has declined. I paid AT Weber 4 different occasions to repair the same upstairs shower faucet. Each time it was not repaired properly. The final failed repair leaked down to the kitchen. I had to hire a different plumber to repair the faucet and the water damage $1500

They have major scheduling issues. They took our deposit in September, and it's nearly January with no work started. When they did finally schedule a start date they didn't show up, scheduled a start date a week later and again failed to show. If you value your time, find a different company.

Called and receptionist had no personality.  Spoke with a guy that said it would be about $75 to replace a shut off valve, shouldn't take more than 15-minutes.  Replaced it in about 10-minutes but wouldn't leave a bill, said they would mail it to me.  Two weeks later I get a bill for $148!  For 10-minutes of work!!!!

Make sure they give you a written estimate so you don't get swindled like I did!

This review is overdue. AT Weber helped us back in June 2018.

We received 3 bids from 3 different plumbers on the same job, and we got vastly different bids (ranging from $2.5k - $15,000).

AT Weber was personable, professional, honest and effective.

After the job was complete, we had a strange... seemingly related issue come up, and Todd was nice enough to come back and take a look at it, despite the fact that he was pretty confident that the issues were unrelated. Todd was right. Despite the fact he new were likely wasting his time, stayed so polite and helpful throughout the whole experience. He followed through and we had such a great experience with AT Weber. Thank you!

My family had a bad carbon monoxide scare one morning due to a poorly venting hot water heater.  I called AT Weber and they shuffled things around to arrive about 6 hours later.  Vince was the consummate professional as he systematically investigated our house with a CO detector to find the problem.  He located the bad vent, figured out the problem, designed a better venting solution and booked another serviceman to come out the next morning.  It took 2 hours of work to fix.  24 hours after my first call the problem was solved.  I've had no further problems - and I've got CO detectors all over the house now just in case.  I'd use these guys again any day.

My Navien 240A2 tankless water heater suddenly started issuing tepid water to our showers, and when I attempted to troubleshoot it myself, it was clear that it was going to require the intervention of a professional. I found A.T. Weber on Navien's site, as they are a certified installer, and cross-referenced it here on Yelp. I'm here to say that A.T. Weber warrants all the stars.

Campbell, their tankless water heater specialist, came out to have a look, and this guy sure knows his stuff. I'd done some research up front so I had a good idea of how it worked, and his assessment of the problem was ultimately the same as what I came up with (a bad check valve) but he did a thorough check and cleaning on everything from the gas input to the in- and outflows. He had the Navien folks on the phone the whole time, and fortunately this is covered by their warranty. And when he was done, he also took the time to show me how to shut off the main water feed and the gas in case of emergency, which was something I'd been meaning to ascertain since I bought the house a few months ago.

I'll definitely call A.T. Weber again in the event that I have plumbing issues.

I strongly recommend A.T. Weber Plumbing & Mechanical. I just spent 10 minutes on the phone with Felix asking questions about my window AC unit - that was not purchased, nor serviced at this establishment. It didn't matter. Felix took the time to explain to me how my AC unit works and addressed my concerns. He also made sure I knew how to properly clean my filter and unit for efficiency. THANKS FELIX! You're a gem! We just moved into our new (to us, but old bungalow) home and wanted to install a dishwasher.  When the dishwasher arrived, the installers could not hook it up because there was no water line under the sink.   We called AT Weber and Mike came out to set it up.  We also decided to have him install our garbage disposal then too.  However, he installed the disposal but did not do the water line!  We called back and Todd saved the day- he got the work done just in time for the installers return to hook up the dishwasher.  Needless to say, we were frustrated with Mike but Todd came to the rescue.  My only beef is that they do not have a emergency line for after hours and they do not work weekends- all things we learned the hard way.  I would recommend they have their hours posted on the website and on the voicemail.  Thank you Todd for your professionalism:)

I needed a new furnace and got 2 estimates one was very fair and one was a clear rip off (this guy was a bit of a dick and I would not have used him anyhow). I called our HOA and the info they gave me about our rules and options led me to realize that the first guy did not know his job. The second did but was still a dick. He suggested I call A.T. Weber Plumbing & Mechanical as they have dome a lot of furnace replacements in our area. From here on everything was excellent, the price was excellent, the service was excellent and the installation was perfect. They had no problem with me supplying my own thermostat to lower my costs as they charge retail and I usually find great deals online.

A.T. Weber Plumbing & Mechanical..... & Furnace replacement 5 stars.

Have used Weber for two pretty large jobs over the past year or so (new tankless water heater, total bathroom replumb), plus several smaller jobs like running a gas line to our oven. They are always reliable, communicative and do a fantastic job.

Our house was neglected for about 50 years before we bought it, so there were a few unpleasant surprises (e.g. Todd discovered our gas line was electrified because of a fault in our ancient furnace- unfortunately he discovered it by getting slightly electrocuted). Even so, the quotes they give are always accurate; I never end up paying a penny more.

They might be the cheapest around, they might not. I've never cared to find out to be honest. I just always use Weber, because I know they're going to do the job properly. So does everybody else I know in Alameda.

Weelll...a few years back, something happened with the billing. I didn't understand what they billed me for, called to get an answer about it, held off on paying until I was able to reach them to get an explanation and then trotted right over with cash because I'm a goody two shoes and I was late paying it. I gave it to a guy at the back on the left and he didn't give me a receipt. You know how it is when you ignore that little feeling? I ignored that little feeling and now they think I didn't pay. I explained it to whomever I spoke to on the phone. Strangely enough, they believe their employee over a random stranger even if she's an earnest customer. Sigh.

One of the more annoying things is that the job I hired them for was to fix something in the crawl space under the house. The manager didn't want to send them if there was a bunch of water from the broken kitchen sink pipe or anything else unpleasant. I couldn't believe it. It *is* plumbing after all!

I went under the house myself, raked the sandy dirt flat-ish, put down a trail of thick plastic tarp to the break point and went with the plumbers to where the pipe that needed mending was. I did all of this on my belly. When I say crawl space, that's a generous descriptor. The primary plumber told me he has claustrophobia once he got out of there. Manager dude! Do not torment your employees! The problem is space, not a bunch of water. Double sigh.

The last time I called them, it was for an emergency toilet overflow situation. The person answering said that they wouldn't be able to help me for a couple of weeks. I'm guessing that they don't want me as a client. After all of that, I gotta say I'm not going to argue!

Morgan from AT Weber left a little while ago after fixing some issues here, including a problem involving very low hot water pressure in the shower.  Another plumber from a different plumbing company in town said that nothing could be done about the problem, that it was a foreboding indicator that big plumbing work was going to be needed and soon, and the end of the world as we know it, blah blah blah.

Thanks to this courteous, careful, and very skilled person from ATW, the hot water pressure was increased by a factor of five, without replacing a single part, and in less than an hour.  It was a trickle before and now healthy and very strong given this is a house over a hundred years old.

And so we see an excellent example of the value of building a business on skill,  common sense, and honesty.  Making a case for bigger problem in order to snag a big job - not as effective.  Yes the plumbing apocalypse will come to this house.  But not until it has to.  And when it does happen, these are the guys to call.

The guys from AT Weber replaced our furnace and ducts this winter. Everyone they sent was really polite and nice, their bid was lower than the competition, they did the work on schedule and the workmanship looks good to me (and to the city inspector). Not to mention he took the time to show me what had happened and explained what he did to fix it and asking if I had questions along the way.  The whole job was fixed quickly. Thanks A.T. Weber

AT Weber has quality staff who are prompt and professional. They have helped us a few times. Last year they rerouted a plumbing line that was done incorrectly. Last week they capped off an old line we don't need anymore. I appreciate feeling confident in the quality of their work.

A.T. Weber did all the work for our remodel, and today, came out on pretty short notice to fix our two showers who were both broken at the same time!  Nice people, clean up after themselves, and don't overcharge.  We can wholeheartedly recommend A.T. Weber Plumbing for all your plumbing needs.

I just had an unfortunate experience with A.T. Weber Plumbing, which we have used for years. We have not run into this issue in the past so things have changed. We needed the outdoor spigots replaced. I sent photos. Plumber comes as planned. He looks and then tells me he needs to go to the shop to get the materials. I say just start work and I'll go to the shop and pick up what you need. He says he can't let me do that. I say I shouldn't be charged travel time - he has no copper pipe and no spigots and I say that's not right - I sent photos. So he calls the shop right there in front of me, and he tells me I won't be charged for travel time. The invoice comes today and at $150 an hour I am charged for travel time. I have some back and forth with Chris the Dispatcher and Chris reduces the bill. I think this is fair. But I got this quote:

I'll take a half hour off. But for future reference we do charge for when we get materials. That's part of the job.

I call the shop to speak to Chris the Dispatcher and the call just gets defensive so I decided to post this warning about the practice - no standard material on a plumbing truck (like no copper pipe) leads me to believe this is an intentional way to bill more labor time so Consumers Be Aware of this company's practice.

Fast turnaround - open, honest, hardworking crew. Our furnace went out one cold night this winter [dropped to 39 degrees] and within 48 hours we were back up and running. I was able to make an apptment the next morning for less than 2 days later, and they showed up in the 2 hour window they said. The employee - Josh - did a great job answering our questions and he was in and out in 30 minutes. No hidden fees, the estimate labor was included in the part replacement, so no additional unexpected unanticipated labor costs added. Gave great recommendation and honest feedback for unit in general as well. Good guys, highly recommend.

Okay, this may be the weirdest, but most honest review you have read. We took on a lot of water during the atmospheric storms of this year, and called AT Weber. The first crew came out, and out of the kindness of their hearts, gave us a great solution to keep water out of the house in the ensuing storms, probably saving our foundation. After the storms, owner Todd came out twice and gave us two separate bids. As time went on, we had more info and realized the job was very large, and maybe at this time, too much out of scope and scheduling for AT Weber. Todd encouraged us to talk to another company, that referred us to another new start-up locally-owned drainage company, and we are going with them. I wanted to give them and Todd a shout out for holding our hands when we had over a foot of standing water in and around our crawl space and for being so responsible and professional. His patience and expertise, which I almost exhausted, are greatly appreciated. These kinds of concerned businesses are rare. I am very grateful to them.

Note that we didn't actually receive services from A.T. Weber but I just have to say I'm really impressed even by their response to our inquiry. We had an issue with our water heater so I reached out for a quote. Before we got a response we realized it was actually a problem with our gas and an earthquake valve that got triggered. Then A.T. Weber responded and they nailed it, and guessed what the issue was based on the info I shared! They were also very clear about when they could get someone out, being really empathetic that we might go with someone else to get someone out sooner. So we didn't end up needing their help, but will definitely reach out when we do!

My technician, Ken, quickly evaluated the problem with my tankless water heater, explored different options and explained the cost/benefit aspects of each option, even called the manufacturer to make sure he had the most current info on this particular model, and double-checked to make sure his repair did the trick!  He was nice, helpful, and even trimmed back a tree that had grown over the water heater without missing a beat!
In other words, I got the excellent service that I am accustomed to receiving from this wonderful local business, A.T. Weber!

I had two problems -- a leaking sink and a gas heater whose pilot light would not stay lit.  As I've done several times in the past, I called AT Weber -- and they had someone there within 15 minutes of the designated time.  The sink was done first; Jeff showed me what had caused it and fixed it on the spot.  The pilot light problem required a part that he didn't have in his truck, so he quickly rigged a temporary fix to get me through the weekend -- and returned Monday morning with the correct part.  Problems solved.

I've had AT Weber do a sewer lateral replacement and install a gas line to the kitchen in my parents house, fix leaks and diagnose issues for many years now, and will continue to call on them for anything involving plumbing or heating.

I have used A.T. Weber for several years and have always found them highly professional and very accommodating.  My latest issue was a thermostat on a relatively new water heater that needed replacing.  They sent someone out to diagnose the problem, order the part and installed in within 2 days.  Chris, the person who answers the phones, was courteous and prompt in returning calls and keeping me posted on the part needed. This is a great company to work with .... and it is here in Alameda!

Weber replaced our whole plumbing system including waste lines out to the sewer main.

This was unavoidable work and we were under the gun. Our system was quite old and the piping was quite complicated; it included taking up concrete in our finished basement.

Todd spent a lot of time here figuring out where the pipes went and how to avoid taking up original hardwood floors over concrete in order to change out our main drainage system, he was very knowledgeable, patient and, most importantly, thorough in his assessments. His quotes stayed true to what we were charged and we paid as each phase of the job was finished, not before.

On to Felix, that poor guy. I have been in there AND calling constantly asking questions, having him explain the bill etc.
At this point I just do what Felix says and things work out well.

Most importantly for me was the city permits, I wanted to be sure everything was signed off appropriately.
In the past, when I have had work done, almost without fail, the last bit of inspection is overlooked or ignored by whomever is dong the work (very annoying to me). As a result, I have gone into the city permit office to get another permit for something else only to find out the previous one hasn't been signed off and until that happens, I can't get what I need.
This has cost me in a pretty big fine in the past.
Felix not only made sure this was done, he made sure to contact me to tell me this by both phone and email. That was such a relief for me.
Thanks Felix!

These guys just screwed me over big-time! Please think twice about using them. When the chips are down, they will NOT do the right thing, customer-service-wise. I hired them to do a kitchen remodel, we agreed on a price ($1500) and the DAY BEFORE they were supposed to arrive, they called me and told me they don't do work in San Francisco (which is where I live). So...what? They couldn't have figured that out two weeks prior (which is when I first called them)? So of course, there's almost no time left for me to hire another plumber. And it wasn't even as cut-and-dried as this--in fact, they called me first to say no they couldn't do it, then they called me again to say good news! we'll do it! and just when I was starting to relax and think I still had a plumber, they hiked the price an extra $600! (It was, I think, their attempt to get me to call off the job.) The owner was rude, unapologetic on the phone. I don't know what their plumbing is like but their customer service is a zero.

I was without hot water for approximately 72 hours. The water heater manufacturer did not get me the parts in time as promised when Ken from AT Weber came to fix my water heater. Ken couldn't continue without the manufacturer's parts. Later that day the parts finally arrived and in coordination with Justin, Ken was able to come back a second time that day and fix my water heater.

I will give bad ratings to the water heater manufacturer for not getting me the critical parts as promised - and I will give excellent ratings to Ken who was reliable, professional, courteous and empathic. I will not use any other plumbing services but A.T. Weber.

We were so pleased with our services from A.T Weber.

We left a voicemail and they returned our call right away!  The employees we spoke to over the phone (Justin & another employee - who's name I missed) were super friendly & helpful picking out a toilet. They gave me tips on how to measure to ensure the toilet we wanted would fit. They also got us an installation appointment within a reasonable amount of time.

Jeremy came to do our installation. He was on time, considerate of our home, friendly, fast & efficient! He also was thoughtful of our dog and gave me the heads up about using the grinder, which would have probably freaked her out. His heads up gave me time to take her to another room and distract her.

A.T. Weber made this whole process extremely easy and we would definitely recommend them!

I just had A.T. Weber install two new toilets in my house.  I am REALLY happy with their excellent customer service and the products I purchased from them and they installed.
I needed help to pick out which brand and model would suit my needs.  They gave me some choices, and their recommendations, and it is exactly what I was looking for.  And even more !  I had done some research online first, but he explained some features I wasn't aware of.
I went in to shop on a Monday, and my appointment for installation was the coming Friday.  The installer was right on time and was in and out in no time. He was very professional and did a great job and left everything clean and tidy.
I would definitely recommend A.T. Weber.

We recently had a contractor working on our foundation when he discovered a leak under our crawl space. I called A. T. Well I'm very sad to have to right this review.  I have used AT Weber in for the past 18 years for my pluming needs and had been happy with them.

Recently I had them work on my floor heater that was slow to start up.  They started with a change of thermostats which didn't work.  So we schedule a follow up visited to resolve the issue.  They cancel the this visit and rescheduled for a few days later.  Which was okay because we still had a working heater at this point even if it was slow to get going.

On the rescheduled visit the tech did arrive on time, bang on it a bit then said he would need to come back and do a rebuild.  The one problem is the banging he did has caused the heater to completely stop working. Which means no heat.

We made an appointment to have the rebuild done.  A.T. Weber cancel ] this appointment, we reschedule again and the appointment  agian was canceled by A.T. Weber on the Friday before Christmas.  So here we are with a 3 day weekend before us with out a working heater at the coldest time of year.

A.T. Weber canceled appointments on us 3 times.

Not sure why the service has gone down so much because in the past they had been so reliable.

I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Update - Feb. 8, 2018

I need to update and upgrade my review of AT Weber.

We had some plumbing work done by one of their techs last year.   We felt the the work that was done may not have succeeded in fixing the problem as there was a leek that had been going on for quite sometime which was evidenced by the very large wet spot under our house.  This was discovered by the other furnace company that we hired to come and fix our floor heater.

We talked with the office manager and he assured us the work was guaranteed for a full year and set the first open appointment to have the original tech to come out and see what the issue was.  As it turned out this was a new leek and had nothing to do with the work previously done.   The tech showed me where the pipe with degrading and developed a crack that was the cause of the leak.

He did the work in short order replacing more pipe then was currently leaking in order to prevent future problems as the plumbing in our house is very old.

I have to say this tech was just great and I would not hesitate to hire him again.

Bravo! AT Weber your guy has restored our faith in your company.

Which make me very happy as I was quite bummed to think I would not be able to depend on you'll for my plumbing needs and emergencies.

I work for a service company as a superintendent.

Today Weber Plumbing and Mechanical came in to jet out pipes in a corporate building, guys Mike and his friend were friendly and very cool, there was also a pump truck subcontracted to pump out all water out of the sump pump enclosure with their 3 diameter hose.

Everything went well until Mike made a .25 hole in the supply garden hose, they used this hose to complete the job after trying to repair it, the hose sprayed out around 300 gallons of water onto four floors of the garage, guys then left after completing the job, I asked them to clean out the water on the phone and they responded that they are on their way.

I let the pump truck go and I had a call from Mike and his partner in an hour telling me that their boss (Todd Weber) has asked them to turn around.

I later called Todd and he didn't seem that he wanted to correct the problem, rather he was trying to push the fault to the pump truck company.

I explained to Todd multiple times that the reason for flooding the garage floors was the broken garden hose that his guys used but Todd was looking past that and did not want to cooperate with me.

These guys left me with a complaint from building management and I believe that every customer should stay away from companies that do not take responsibility for their own faults and mistakes.

Thank you - Stay Away!

We hired AT Weber to do the plumbing for our remodel and while the quality of their work ended up being pretty good, it took very close supervision on our part for that to be the case. I would suggest using ATWeber for clogged drains and leaky water heaters but not anything more involved than that. Here are a few of the problems they caused that we had to make them solve:
Their worker installed a toilet in our Jack and Jill bathroom, blocking the door from closing. He was going to leave it like that. When we raised the issue he suggested we buy a different toilet, despite the fact that there was plenty of room behind the toilet.  Another contractor (carpenter) suggested that the plumber reposition the pipe under the toilet so it would fit.

When ATW was running the pipes for our kitchen, they didn't follow the kitchen layout we had given them and we had to measure everything ourselves and make them reposition the pipes multiple times. They never got the drain pipe for the sink in the right position and the general contractor has to cut a bunch of holes inside our cabinetry for the drain to run laterally and it is super ugly.

It took them 5 tries to install a pot filler.

Essentially, ATWeber took no responsibility for getting things right the first time. They didn't follow the plans we gave them or keep track of what work they had remaining in our contract. We had to do all of their project management and monitor the quality and correctness of their work. They were the contractor that required the most oversight and attention in our remodel out of the 12 that we worked with. That being said they did use quality materials and the plumbing all works great.

A.T. Weber has saved my bacon a few times. I had called them out to help address a permitting issue with a sewer line- they helped me gather all of the information necessary to get a certificate of compliance and close out that permit.
Most recently they fixed a heater that had its vapor line backing up with condensate. The technician demonstrated that this was causing the heater to trip the safety mechanisms. All in all, he diagnosed he problem and retrofitted the exhaust line in around an hour. My family is more than pleased to have heat from what is now a very reliable heater!

We live in the Fernside district and a neighbor called AT Weber for a plumbing job. The 2 men asked to look througout the house and took time to look into all the rooms of the house. This seemed strange enough to the home owner. 2 weeks later the AT Weber was working directly across the street from the same homeowner putting in a sewer lateral. As our neighbor left the house they noticed that several of the AT Weber workers where staring at her. Later that day the homeowners found that they were robbed, someone took a crowbar and physically pryed open the doors to the house. The Alameda Police stated that they thought it was an inside job from someone who knew what they were looking for. The homeowners believe in their opinion that the two workers from AT Weber are the prime suspects in this burgulary. With this in mind i would not recommend using AT Weber in Alameda for fear that these two employees would case your house and when you are not there rob you house. Neighbors in the Fernside area of Alameda are hoping to find more evidence against these two AT Weber employees who cased the house for non-plumbing releated views of the rooms.

I have used AT Weber, exclusively, as our home plumber for over 4 years. The dispatcher, Chris, is usually challenging as he is not the most timely in returning calls or scheduling appointments, but the plumbers are friendly, professional, and do really great work.

I called in a problem with my washing machine leaking on Jan 4 and scheduled an appointment for Monday, Jan 7th. The plumber came out, took a cursory look at my machine, and told me I needed an appliance repair man. He said he could snake the line, but he suspected the problem was with the machine. I was fine with this and reiterated that I would like him to snake the line. I was able to get an appliance repair man out the very next day. Within 5 minutes, he found the problem. The water line was clogged and backing up, causing water to spill down the wall and onto the floor. I was able to get video of this happening.

Later in the afternoon, I got a bill for the visit on Monday. I emailed Chris the video and told him about the issue and and my displeasure that the plumber did not actually do what he said he would do - snake the line, and asked to have someone come out ASAP. Chris was not able to get someone out until Thursday(tomorrow) afternoon. As a family that just returned from a holiday trip and with two small children that go through clothes like there is no tomorrow, going without a washing machine for a week is not okay. I will be taking my laundry to a laundromat and my business elsewhere.

The heat was very uneven throughout our house and not working in some areas. There was also a very complicated system for regulating it.

We had just bought the house and although it had been excellently maintained and outfitted by the previous owner the heating system seemed very complicated as far as control and regulation.

The technicians were very professional and courteous, got everything  resolved quickly and showed me basically how the system worked.
They also were very attentive to my concern that the system should be easier to regulate and set it up exactly the way I asked.

I would highly recommend this company anytime.

These guys have worked on our plumbing and furnace several times. Their response time and communication is terrible. The work is good. After waiting a week to get a quote on a broken furnace, they came out and then didn't call me back. After finally getting ahold of them, they would only give me a quote to replace and said they could fix it but could not give me a cost. The problem was a simple circuit board that just needed replacement. It should be 10 minutes of work. I am going to order the part online and save myself $300-400 bucks since they let me know after waiting a week they can't come out for a couple more weeks to do it.

We had some work done replacing the ductwork in our home by another contractor, who left town without actually doing the balancing of our heating system that he had claimed to do.  We called A.T. Weber.  Josh showed up on time, spent quite a bit of time checking out the entire system, did some tweaks to both the furnace and the dampers, and talkled to me about options for upgrading the system.  He was quite frank in saying he didn't know if a new furnace would be able to overcome the effects of the single-pane windows in our 1908 house.

The next morning, I was delighted to find out that the tweaks he made had rebalanced the home in just the way I was hoping would be possible.  At this point, I see no need for additional investment in hardware.  A caring, knowledgeable technician is worth his weight in gold!

First time Yelper.

I found these guys from Yelp and wanted to Yelp back how awesome they are.

Steve was amazing.  I share plumbing with my neighbor and what was first thought to be a kitchen clog turned out to be a bit more serious.  He was able to work under the pressure of my intensely anxious neighbor and get the job done with great skill and timely manner.

I will call them again should I run into another plumbing issue.

Yay! I can take a hot shower! I recently started renting a house and one of the showers didn't get hot water. The landlord had sent over her handyman who wasn't able to fix it and was thinking that the walls might have to be ripped open and pipes replaced. I was basically walking downstairs every morning to shower and was concerned my landlord wouldn't fix this concern. Happily, the landlord called AT Weber Plumbing, who worked well coordinating everything with my landlord and me. They sent over Josh, who apparently is there go-to guy for tough plumbing problems. Josh was professional and friendly and was able to diagnose and fix the problem. I'm an explain it to me type of gal and appreciated having everything explained to me in a way that I could *mostly* understand. While he cannot guarantee that his fix will be permanent, as it is still the original plumbing and valve, for now, I am happily taking a hot shower and no walls were harmed in the making of this review.

Nothing worse than discovering that my water heater was leaking on a Sunday morning. I called four different plumbing businesses & left messages with all of them. Todd from A.T. Weber was the first to call me back in the early afternoon and was ultimately the only one to call back on Sunday.

Todd responded to my house within the time period promised. He informed that he could replace my water heater with a new one within the afternoon. He removed the old water heater, installed a new one, cleaned-up and was done by 5:00. Todd was very personable and patient with explaining everything to me. My experience with A.T. Weber is Five Stars all the way!

Many years ago when our close friend and plumber died, we asked his wife to whom to go now.  With no hesitation she said, Weber.  We did and never left, now into the third generation.  Mo-Fr only.  Open about pricing.  Furnace and water heater replacements are flat rate.  Expert, fair, and honest--what more is there to say?

We have used A.T. Weber for our Alameda homes for many years.  Everything from replacing a well pump to garbage disposal repair to replacing hot and cold water pipes.
They have always done an outstanding job, for a reasonable price (even pointing out many things that could be done cheaper and giving us discounts on the changed work).  They are honest and dependable.  One of the best contractors I have dealt with on home repairs.

When I started the project I worked with the owner, Todd Weber, for over 5 months of back & forth to create a document that was presented to our HOA in Alameda.  We covered all of the HOA's concerns and strict rules & regulations.  I now have a new furnace, Air Conditioner and a professional air purifier.  I am very satisfied with the work of A.T. Weber.

Positives:
- The team is very easy to work with and easy to help find answers & solutions.
- Very responsive.
-The workers were very clean and clean up the work space very day.
- I could reach a person responsible at the company right away
- The supervisor collaborated with me on his suggested solutions
- Very nice staff; very proper
- The team did a few extra tasks
Small negative:  The outside condenser was much bigger than expected.

Overall A.T. Weber gave me exceptional service before, during and after the installation of this system.

I called this place multiple times and left messages, but no one ever called back. My landlord insisted that I use them, so I called again today. That was one of the rudest encounter I've had from a customer base business. Jody answered the phone and was immediately rude to me. As I was speaking to her...she kept saying what....and I had to ask her what was she not hearing and why did she feel the need to speak to me that way. She totally dismissed what I had and asked for my number so she could call me back after she checked the messages.......OK. She called me back 2 1/2 hours after. I missed the call and called her back, and she didn't retain any of the information I gave her proceed to ask for everything again and then she kept saying what....what....I can hear you. The whole encounter was really unprofessional and flat out rude! I hate that I even have to use this mess of a place! I will be advising my landlord that I refuse to use them going forward!!!!!

I didn't like my initial contact with this company. However, the tech the sent out of nice and very knowledgeable. He changed my opinion a little, but I still do not appreciate that Jody lady and her horrible attitude.
