My initial experience was great, I was able to speak with someone (she was sweet), get a quote & schedule an appointment. Then the plumber came out and didn't do the one thing I really needed because I asked about other separate services, and I needed to get another estimate? He also suggested opening up my floors instead of going in the crawl space. He said I would receive an estimate & I wasn't contacted after that. I ended up going somewhere else & got everything I needed done without hesitation.

We had a floor sink plugged in our restaurant so I figured we would give them a try. They showed up and I was very impressed at how they not only dispatched their tech but also their responsiveness and professionalism. Drain was cleared and we got back to business! Thank you

Called the number listed on the website on Monday morning and was able to get a  visit Tuesday afternoon. Having pictures of the job helped. When they called to coordinate, I texted the pictures which I feel, helped get the job done faster. Neil had the part ready and was able to complete the job in one quick visit. Would definitely use Shaka plumbing again.

1st of all, if I could give Kama Hele 100+ stars, I would!

It all started with a sewage blockage in my very old galvanized cast iron pipes... I called a number of large and very well-known companies who were all promoting and extolling the benefits of the epoxy pipe relining system (trenchless technology) as the best way to go i.e. 535 Plumbing, Pipe Master, Pueo Plumbing, Steve's Plumbing, etc.

They all made the epoxy pipe relining system (trenchless technology) sound like God's gift to mankind but they are not open and transparent in telling you the negatives, the downside.  

For example, one of their workers (535 Plumbing) confidentially told me that for her own home, she was planning to do it the old fashioned way (excavation and PVC pipe replacement) and when I asked her why she wasn't doing the NuFlow system, she stated that she didn't really believe in the NuFlow system which her company was promoting. In addition, two plumbers from 535 Plumbing confided that they would never do the NuFlow system in their own homes because a snake cutter would literally destroy the epoxy pipe relining system (trenchless technology).

Concerned, I asked Mike (Pueo Plumbing manager) if it was true that a snake cutter would destroy the epoxy pipe relining system (Brawoliner / Picote), that they were promoting. He hemmed and hawed and finally was forced to admit Well, a snake cutter might tear up the 2-part epoxy but a hydrojet will not damage the epoxy pipe relining system.

And how much would hydrojetting cost?  His answer as well as the answers I got from all of the above companies was shocking...

In other words, they charge an exorbitant fee to install the epoxy pipe relining system in the first place and then these plumbing companies have ensnared you on the backend because your only alternative in the event there is a future sewage clog in the epoxy pipe relining system is to have them use a hydrojet to remove the sewage blockage which would have you shelling out hundreds of $$$ more than a snake cutter for galvanized or PVC...One company quoted a whopping $3000! Are you kidding me?!!!

In any event, I decided to do it the old-fashioned way, excavation and PVC pipe replacement...

After a lot of research and getting price gouging bids ranging from $15,000 - $16,000 from 535 Plumbing, Pipe Master, Pueo Plumbing, Steve's Plumbing, etc., I finally found an HONEST plumber of integrity, Kama Hele Plumbing who gave me a very fair bid of a fraction of what the other companies wanted to charge...  

John Arapari, owner of Kama Hele gave me  an incredible quote and he was so honest, open and transparent not only in his verbal commitment but when I actually received his written bid, he detailed everything in minute detail as far as exactly what materials he was going to use and the step-by-step process of exactly what his team would be doing which made me feel very confident that at last, I had found a trust-worthy company.

The other bids that I received were so ambiguous and sketchy that I really felt they were deliberately trying to be vague to cover their you know what which didn't give me feeling of confidence that I was dealing with a trust-worthy company...

Caveat emptor, companies with a large staff and payroll are going to charge considerably more because they have to meet payroll every month...Also, you are just a number to them and there is not the same personal touch as when dealing with a smaller company like Kama Hele...

And of paramount importance, a smaller company like Kama Hele charges reasonable prices not rip-off prices like the above companies who again, have to meet payroll for their large staff...

Kama Hele did such a superlative job that I decided to pay them an extra bonus of $1000 and treat all of their 6 plumbers to dinner at Gen Yakiniku BBQ...Now, that's a testimonial for how much I love Kama Hele, John Apari (owner), Harry Patinio (such a joy to work with) and all of their stellar plumbers...

Thank you Kama Hele!  You are a breath of fresh air and truly are a company that puts the customer first and quotes fair and reasonable prices...You have my business forever...I am a broadcaster by nature and I have shared my experiences with everyone I know and will continue to do so...You deserve all of your 5-star Yelp reviews and as I mentioned above, if I could, I would give Kama Hele 100+ stars...

Look no further - this is your plumber!  I manage a condominium in Waikiki from California and when I found out from a friend that the unit smelled like sewer, I scrambled to find a plumber yesterday because I have potential tenants looking at the place in two days.  I called other plumbing companies but nobody would give me the time of day to even talk to a plumber to ask questions just to ask if this was a fixable problem.  

I called First Class, explained the situation and within 15 min I got a call back from the plumber, Whit.  He said he was finishing up a job and would be at my unit in an hour.  We did a virtual call and I guided him in getting into the unit on his own.  Unlike other companies that said someone had to be present and that it was a 3 hour window to wait for a plumber.  First Class plumbing service was prompt, flexible and so accommodating from the get go.

As soon as he got there he immediately determined that because of non-use of my brand new two month old toilets in a condo building, the water in the traps can evaporate and leak sewage smell.  He filled every single drain back up with water and ensured the unit didn't smell before leaving and went thru the process of returning the keys back.

The next day, he sent a text message with additional solutions on how to fix the current problem and how to prevent this from happening again.  From start to finish, EXCELLENT customer service and such a prompt response.  Totally trust First Class and he will remain our plumbing go to.  Thank you Whit!

My daughter had been here visiting and my guest bathroom tub was draining slow. JBC was able to come out in 48hours and fix with no problem. On time and courteous. Reasonable rates.

I live in a building almost as old as me. Like me, parts of my unit are wearing out and malfunctioning. That was the story with the tub faucet. The original equipment was about 60 years old and the hot water went from a drip to a constant stream, with the heat creating stains and mold.

I asked the office who did a lot of work at our complex and the said Pono at MG Plumbing. It didn't take too long to get an appointment. The shower head was a mess too, so I asked Pono about a new shower head with a hose, which would make it easier for me. He said I could buy one, or he would. I asked him to get one for me. I have a mobility disability, so it's hard for me to shop in person. I looked at many options online, but ultimately I figured he would know best how to proceed.

He was on time and selected a moderately priced Kohler shower head. It attaches via a magnet, making it easier for me to detach and reattach. That's helpful for me not just because of the disability but also because I'm so short.

He finished the work quickly and even put up the new plastic liner and just-washed fabric curtain. Just taking down the nasty dirty moldy plastic liner and the fabric curtain which desperately needing washing was quite a struggle for me, so I was very grateful when he did the work for me when I asked.

He also prepared me for what would eventually come after this, once this fix wore out. (Let's just say I'd better start saving lots of money.)

Once the hot water stream was fixed, I was able to scrub the tub and bleach the mold away in bits and pieces over a couple of weeks, as my body allowed. Now the tub looks pretty darned good. Hopefully I look that good, too, as we both continue to age.

This place used to do good work years ago now I am not so sure.  They did work on my sink and I still have a on going drip from it.  I will look for someone else next time.

Generally, yelp serves as a tool to look up the hip new restaurant, or other foodie places.  It's unusual for a plumber to have so many great reviews written about them on a public social media page.  Seeing all the reviews, including this one, is a testament to their work and professionalism.  As a qualifier, I'm not quick to give all five stars and these guys deserve all the accolades.  

I was working with another plumber before reaching out to 535 Plumbing.  The previous plumber was unprofessional, rude, and quite patronizing.  I reached out to 535 Plumbing, and immediately received a response and coordination in order to get the job done.  They are organized and know exactly what they are doing.  They also explained everything to me clearly without thinking I was stupid. It was quite refreshing.

They came, did the job, and CLEANED UP AFTER!  After speaking to friends, apparently this is a trait not all plumbers/contractors share.  I am so appreciative to 535 and all involved for their help and work with everything. Truly a great company!

The guy that came out was actually from Shaka Plumbing. He fixed a leak and didn't charge me an arm and a leg. Would recommend.

Got a decent quote from Jay.  Said he could be out between 7:30-8:00pm.  Great!  Asked for pics of my pipes, which I sent, then never heard from him again.  No, I can't make it tonight.  No Can I reschedule?  Just silence.  I even tried calling and he wouldn't answer the phone.  I could've spent that time finding a more reliable plumber.
