We had a kitchen faucet plumbing issue that was inconvenient, but not an emergency.  We called at noon - no problem, they would be there by 4 PM. Shaka Plumbing appeared on time and the faucet was replaced in short order.  They were polite, knowledgeable and cleaned up after themselves. They are now our go to plumbing service for everything.  Highly recommend Shaka Plumbing!

I looked this company up and called them knowing its 24/7 since our water heater broke and badly needed servicing. I called and it just kept on ringing. I left a voicemail and the next day called again thinking last night they were just busy. But I kept calling and calling throughout the day and no one would answer. I thought this was a 24/7 company. Guess not.

Neil really saved the day with his prompt response and excellent service! We ended up having to replace the toilet, and Neil made quick and affordable work of it.  Friendly and reliable, genuinely intent on helping in our time of need - he is the one we will always call on!

I had an upstairs toilet in my town home suddenly start leaking.  It wasn't  a super emergency, as I was able to shut the water off.  I called Shaka Plumbing in the morning and got their voice-mail.  I left a message and they promptly returned my call to set up an appointment.  They said they would be able to come between 2 and 3.  I received a call at 12:45 asking if they could come by early, which was fine.  They took a look at my toilet and knew exactly what was wrong and how to fix it.  They even took the time to explain to me what occurred and how often parts like that should be replaced.  The price was most excellent and so far the work done looks great.  I am most pleased with the experience and will most certainly use their services for any other plumbing I need.  Thank you guys so much.

I began using their services back in early 2000s when they were formally known as Alpha Omega Plumbing.  I never had a problem with them getting the job done or feeling overcharged when I needed work done for checking and replacing hosing and fixtures for my bathroom and kitchen sinks, or laundry appliances.  I used their services several times when I lived in a condo since 2003 and then upon my move to a townhouse in 2012.

In August 2019, I had a leak occur from my upstairs bathroom causing my ceiling of my downstairs bathroom to bubble and sag.  I was on a limited time frame as I was to leave on a trip in 10 days and needed my family to have peace of mind while I was gone.  I called a few plumbing companies to get estimates, however, I either did not get in contact with someone directly, or was told that there was a cost to the assessment, which would go toward the repairs if so needed. I hesitantly scheduled with them for their soonest availability, which was two days later.  Shaka Plumbing (Niel) responded to my message quite quickly, stated no charge for assessment, and could come that afternoon.

Chris arrived promptly.  He was friendly, efficient about the assessment, and seemed honest in his recommendations and suggestions. He took the time to explain the general and common issues of the waste and overflow piping and gaskets that may have caused my leaks and bubbling, and the repair options.  He was patient with my many questions, was very accommodating to my schedule; and best of all,  able to come the next day at my convenience to do the job.  Chris worked efficiently, and was also able to coordinate a freelancer to close up the work area on the bathroom ceiling right after he was done with the pipes.  He finished the job within the time frame he estimated with no fuss.  He was polite and friendly, and even showed me the basis of the project and the guts of all the plumbing (and everything else that was living in the drain...YUCK!!) that he took out.

In addition, Chris was willing to help me purchase supplies and come back on another day that my schedule would allow, to help me with caulking the tub to further minimize water leaking to the ceiling.

We had a self-created plumbing emergency and had no hot water.  I tried to contact our regular plumber but wasn't able to reach anyone.  I called Shaka and was shocked when Amber said they could have someone out that same day at 11:00.  Shortly before 11:00, Jeremy called to let me know that Neil was on his way.  Neil arrived, assessed the situation, said he could fix it - on the spot - and he was done in about 20 minutes.  BONUS - it didn't cost me nearly as much as I expected.  I couldn't have been more impressed!  Looks like we have a new regular plumber!

I don't want to be that guy  who just puts 5 starts straight across but this company is the real deal.  Honest, quick, and fair.  I called a good friend who highly recommended Shaka.   I felt like I was calling a relative over to lend a hand in fixing a leak.  I highly recommend Shaka Plumbing!

I gave 3 stars cause the price changed due to larger equipment used to unclog main water drain,  I really don't understand why I was quoted a price,  than it jumped $30 more , the equipment was portable.

Not sure how they got such high ratings but I used them and would have to say they were pretty horrible.  Had water heater issues and they changed parts and replaced with cheaper parts, finally Neal rewired my electrical (that's when I knew we were in trouble) if I needed a licensed electrician would of got one.  Over a period of two weeks Neal would come in at 5-10 minute increments and do (4 x) little things and leave.   Nothing seemed to resolve the issue, finally showed him a leak in the copper pipe which he wanted to charge an additional $400 on top of the $250 he already charged.  Dont want to run him in the ground because he is trying to make a living but if its more than 5-10 minutes, RUN!

Neil at Shaka Plumbing was great! Really good communication - he even gave me a courtesy call right before our appointment to let us know he was down the street and would be arriving shortly. Very prompt, professional, personable, and was able to fix the problem within the timeline and estimate given over the phone. Like most people, I'm always weary about what kind of professional quality you get when you meet a tradesman for the first time, but I'm glad I made the call to Neil.  I will shamelessly endorse this guy.

I signed up for yelp just to write a review on this company.  I have used them twice and plan to keep their number for any future issues.  They were very accommodating in fitting in time the same day for the repairs that I needed.  I will definitely use them again and recommend them to everyone!

I talked to Neil at Shaka Plumbing to come fix my faucet that had a major leak.   Scheduling service was a breeze and when he showed up he instantly  knew what the problem was and had the parts on hand to change out the defective pieces.  His pricing was also very reasonable.  Neil was in and out and he seems to be an honest plumber that I would trust for future jobs.

Neil does a great job, and i highly recommend him to all my friends and family on the leeward coast! He charges very reasonable prices, but most importantly he gets the job done right! He's very responsive and quick!

I wanted to give a Shout-Out to Shaka Plumbing, and the owner and this is probably 6 months or more late coming, thanks to Neil the owner, who came and replaced my Kitchen faucet and repaired my water lines, very nice, personable and dependable Plumber/Owner. I've known him since November 2014, I'd say he's one of a few Companies that I would recommend to service your plumbing needs.

We called regarding a problem with the clean out backing up the plumbing inside the house. It was late in the afternoon and we were told they wouldn't be able to fit us in that day. Because it was an emergency situation, I was trying to find a plumber that could make a service call that afternoon or evening. They called back and said they could fit us in and even arrived sooner than the time given. They took care of the problem with great customer service in a timely manner. I would definitely give them a call if we ever need a plumber again and would recommend them to others.

Neil, with Shaka Plumbing arrived within two hours of my initial call for a minor toilet repair. Expedient, same-day service--great customer service.

Called one week ago regarding a clogged sink. I never received a call back.

I tried to use drano but that only was a band aid. The issue came back and this is my sink where the central AC condensate drain empties into near the P trap. It backed up my AC unit which tripped off and wouldn't turn back on.

Called Allen's plumbing after hours and a local rep called me back quickly. The issue was fixed the same day.

Perhaps my job was too small for this company?

Neil and his crew were great! We had a one off request of installing a new gas range top. Highly recommend, for the rest of the peeps on Oahu a new top of the line gas range top is 66% cheaper than a new electric range top. After installation cost it was still 33% cheaper. Neil did a great job with the installation and the work is clean and cherry. The end result will be 30$ less a month in electric bill and better quality cooking with gas. Thanks Shaka Plumbing!

The only reason I would give more than a one star rating is because they act professional and show up on time.
However, they advertise 24/7 service but did not answer on a Sunday when my water pipe broke.

I did a self repair but wanted a plumber to redo my work for insurance purposes. They quoted me 460$ to replace three feet of pipe and to raise a shower head ten inches.

The tech said it was so expensive because they do not replace cpvc and the copper is expensive. Well, an eight foot section is only 14.97 and all the materials to cut, couple, and sweat the shower pipe don't even come to 50 dollars. I asked the tech to call his boss to try and get a reasonable price,  he wouldn't do it in front of me, instead he walked outside and came back saying his boss actually said it should be 480$, which made me lose trust in the character of the business I was hoping to work with.

I was looking forward to feeling confident in Shakas work based on their great reviews and thought I would feel confident  my house wasn't going to flood, instead I feel like I was a profit target because I am a young homeowner in a mildly desperate situation.
I will never conduct a transaction with this business.

I am a property manager and one of my tenants contacted me a couple days ago with a plumbing issue. Her bath tub was backing up with really gross sewer water and her toilets were bubbling. After contacting all of the big boy plumbing companies, I had just about given up. Nobody could get to our issue that day and would have to reschedule for the future. My tenant has a friend of a friend which turned out to be Shaka Plumbing. They too were very busy that day however they managed to find time to squeeze us in in the afternoon. They resolved the issue quickly and billed us a very reasonable service call. As a property manager, this is the kind of service that I am always looking for. Well done Shaka Plumbing! You rock!

My water heater cracked on a Friday night was leaking all in garage. Called Shaka up and 2 hrs they came out shut off water heater to get me through night till they came out Saturday to remove two old 50 gal heaters for new solar friendly 80 gal and re did all new copper lines. Now it looks professional.

BEWARE!! SHAKA PLUMBING scammed us out of $250. They came out to give us an estimate and (OVER)charged us $250 to change the knob in our shower. The repair was scheduled for the next morning. The next morning came SHAKA Plumbing came out and told us they cannot do the repair because they would have to make to many modifications to complete it. So we decided to try to fix it ourselves, we went out and bought the part for $11 and my mom installed it under a minute. We are currently still waiting for our refund from them but every time we call no one answers. We also contacted the CONTRACTORS OF HAWAII and they told us that SHAKA Plumbing isn't even licensed any more, their license is EXPIRED! And, the funny thing is they emailed my mom the invoice and told her we hope you're satisfied with our service. Really, are you kidding me? Their service is just HORRIBLE!! Think twice before you call them for an so called FREE estimate.

I called this morning with a clogged toilet and they made an appointment for 6pm this evening.  Plumber showed up 5 minutes early got his work done neatly and quickly.  The best part was the price was very reasonable.  I would definitely recommend Shaka Plumbing.

Fast service and reasonable prices. My water main ruptured and they came the next day. I was expecting to pay more than they charged, and they went the extra mile to make sure everything was good and we were taken care of.

Lehi from Shaka plumbing is possibly the most helpful and nicest plumber I have ever met. We called him to locate a cesspool and after he had worked hard and was unable to access the sewer line he didn't even charge us. He was full of very useful information and was extremely friendly.

We had a water pipe leak under our townhouse Foundation n called Shaka's plumbing n talked to Neil told him the problem we were having n he said.. I'll come out 2moro n he came out next day n found out problem why we didn't have any hot water..Neil did an awesome job rerouting all our plumbing n did this all in 3days, its really hard to find a honest plumber now days.. The first day they started to fix our plumbing.. neil asked my husband are you ready fo some hot water? My husband said yes! We didn't have hot water fo 2 months..

Called the number listed on the website on Monday morning and was able to get a  visit Tuesday afternoon. Having pictures of the job helped. When they called to coordinate, I texted the pictures which I feel, helped get the job done faster. Neil had the part ready and was able to complete the job in one quick visit. Would definitely use Shaka plumbing again.

When the plumber came out of his vehicle, he was holding a tablet and I was confused with what he wanted to do because he didn't have any tools on him. I don't remember if he introduced himself either. Anyway, he started following me to my door and so I asked him if he wanted to see my clogged toilet.. He told me, Oh is that what it is? How much did they quote you? I told him $120. So he went to grab his tools and he came inside and I showed him where my bathroom was. He took probably 15 minutes to fix my toilet which was great. Afterwards, I followed him to his car so he wouldn't have to come back upstairs for the payment. He told me the total was $136 and for some reason I thought the extra cost was tax so I signed it without question. I checked my receipt later and sure enough I was charged $130. I think something as simple as a clogged toilet should have the same price all around. What's the basis for charging one person $10 more than the other? Anyway, I gave the plumber bottled water and $150 and told him to keep the rest but I didn't feel like he appreciated the gesture at all. He said thank you and proceeded to put his tablet away and I kinda just looked at him thinking, Ok bye? Lolllllll. It was kind of awkward so I just turned around and went back inside. He got the job done though and I'm super thankful for him coming on the same day I called so three stars for that.

This was my first experience with Shaka.  Neil was great!  He got caught in traffic but called to let me know he'd be late.  He was REALLY caught in traffic (an accident evidently ahead of him) that made him over an hour late.  We needed a kitchen faucet (from Costco) installed. Neil said he was very familiar with that brand and was done in less than an hour.  After he was done he said he felt bad being late so he gave me a discount.  Wow! Someone who take responsibility for their actions!  Amazing! Originally I called Alpha Omega Plumbing but the owners had moved to San Diego (so Neil told me) and Shaka was taking their calls.  I'm so glad they did!  Thanks Neil and Shaka for a job well done!

Called Shaka Plumbing for an emergency at 3pm yesterday. But I wanted it done the next day if possible.  Neil came to my property within 20 minutes after I called. Came this morning after I secured water to property.  He did a great job. He made sure he cleaned up after himself.

At first I scheduled an appointment and the plumber didn't show up or call to say he couldn't make it. However, when I called back today the gentleman that answered the phone was very polite and he apologized for yesterday's mishap. The plumber that came to my houses name is Neil and Neil not only did a great job but he was a nice guy too. He even had the courtesy to remove his boots before coming into the house.

When Neil was finished he apologized again for the no call no show and he told me that he would charge me for only part of the work he did today. I would absolutely without a doubt call Shaka plumbing again if I have plumbing problems. I can see why they have 5 star Yelp reviews, it's because they're honest plumbers who conduct themselves in a  professional way. They truck Neil drove was clean and well organized and even the clothing that he wore was clean and he had his shirt tucked in which shows that these guys care about what they do and they take it seriously.

Shaka Plumbing may claim to be a 24/7 plumbing service but, in my experience, they are not.  Our plumbing was backing up into our house.  Google helped us to figure out that we should release the main drain at the outside of the home, which is brand new construction btw. Once we released the drain, all the sewage in the house drained out (It was gross; use your imagination here).  Our builder even came out to investigate if his plumber was the cause.  Nope.  Turns out it's the main sewer line and only a professional with an auger will do.

It's 7 o'clock on a Sunday, regular sh*t floating in .... and Shaka's 24 HOUR claim just aint so.  Sadly, they're in good company as NONE of the 24 hour plumbers seem to work on Sunday evenings.  

Shaka DID call back and said that he would TRY to find one of his guys who could help us.  His 20 minutes has turned into an hour and 20 minutes and no answer when I called him back.  I'm guessing he couldn't find anyone. And the search continues...

Our main water pipe feeding our house busted on Father's Day.  Neil talked to me several times while my husband repaired it back to where it was.  Then came by a few days later to redo the entire thing so as to prevent the same problem happening again.  Super polite, reasonable prices, excellent work.  Highly recommend Shaka Plumbing!!!

Down right the most honest, kindest, professional service I've ever received!!! While my husband was out of town my main water valve to my home and water was leaking down the road. Shaka plumbing face timed me to help get the leak to slow down. I was still leaking pretty bad so they came and got it to slowdown until they could fix it on Monday.  That's not even the best part, I initially started calling plumbers on yelp....Do It Right Plumbing told me it was going to cost me $5,000 and not to call other plumbers because they would just over charge me. I text them pictures and was like it's just a valve leaking, but they said it was still a $5K job.  Let's just say Shaka didnt not even charged me $1K....actually it was under $500, and they came out on the weekend and Monday morning.  I'm so thankful for honest people still in this wold.  That is what you will get with Shaka Plumbing HONESTY!!! Thank you so much, leaks dont have to be a nightmare anymore, I will never call another plumber!!!!

I called them first for service and after an hour, while my water is continuously going down the drain, I'm still waiting for ROTO-ROOTER to show up at my door-step! (freak, they are all over the Island).
Finally I called to follow-up and check the status if their plumber is on their way, and only to find out, no one is coming, excuse, excuse, we don't have tools to fix your problem, not even a freakin' call back, I would have been waiting forever, so unprofessional, lazy, incompetent, misguiding the public, false advertisement, why even bother to advertise 24/7!!!

ROTO-ROOTER, you have no ALOHA, I will never call you again or refer you to any HOMEOWNER as long as your Customer Service don't improve.

I called Shaka Plumbling on December 23, 2016 to fix my main pipe in the kitchen. A service guy came in and told me that need to jet the main pipe and quoted me $800 and I agreed. The owner Neal came on Jan. 5, 2017 with his employee to jet the main pipe. They took their time trying to snake the drains that lead to the main pipe. When Shaka Plumbing came on December 23, 2016 I told them Roto-Rooter snaked all the drains the week before and that wasn't the problem. Both companies agreed that the main pipe needs to be cleared. Neal came about 11am and left about 2:30pm. My drain was not fix and it was worse because the water was backing up to my restaurant floor from the kitchen drain. I called Neal had he said that he was coming back which he did around 4:00pm by himself. He said his worker had to leave. I told Neal that I need to open at 5:30pm and he said no problem but the job was to big for him. He made a big mess on the floor and did not clean up after himself. He finally finished around 6:30pm and I had to clean up his mess and then I could open after 7pm.

Neal charged me $375 per hour for six hours for a total of $2,250. Do not trust this guy! I called him more than a few times and I wrote him emails but I got no response.

Just had Shaka Plumbing out. Due to the rains, the septic tank was full. Neal was our technician. He was excellent. Prompt and professional. Very polite and even apologized for being behind schedule (on a Sunday!). Great guy. I certainly recommend him and Shaka Plumbing. Sure saved us.

We had a leaking pipe.  Called Shaka Plumbing at 2:00, they were fixing the pipe by 3:00, done by 4:00.  Courteous, honest, and obviously prompt.  Reasonable rates.  Highly recommended.

I contacted Shaka Plumbing (Neil) to help with my draining system in my yard. Due to the recent heavy rains, my backyard was flooding, due to clogged pipes. Neil was very helpful on the phone and was able to set up an appointment within 48 hours. When he arrived, he spoke with my husband about the whole process and exactly how much the cost was. After working very hard with a powerful drainage machine, He was able to completely fix our problem that day. Our drainage system works great now. I was very pleased with Neil and Shaka Plumbing. I never actually used Shaka's services because their quote was double than other quotes.  I gave 2 stars because they were responsive and I was going to use them based on that but when I got a quote for $300 to clear my main line and a possible additional $150 if I had no clean out, I had to get a second quote.

I ended up using another company with just as great service and only ended up spending $175 and I didn't have a cleanout.

Nick with Shaka Plumbing came this morning at the scheduled time. Within  forty-five minutes or so he replaced the garbage disposal, tested it and was on his way. He was quiet, polite and efficient; we will be using this company again.

We had to replace a shower valve and cap off some pipes and our scheduled plumber canceled but the water was off just for this issue and he was the best!  Neil was responsive, professional, and reasonable!

It has been over a week and I have still not heard from them. I don't think I ever will again. I did file a BBB complaint. *New Update: Shaka never responded to BBB. They have gone silent. BBB has suggested other means of reporting them.

They quoted $130.  They did not repair the toilet leak and charged me about $300 for replacing tank parts (flapper, handle) and that was NOT the problem.  29 days later we finally noticed that the toilet STILL had this very slow leak.  Blue copper stains were evident that it had been leaking for a long time.  Neil and Nick refused to fix it unless they were paid again... $200-300 more?.  They said my call was 31 days later and they only warrant 30 days.
 I called another plumber who fixed it in 20 minutes with a $130 quote.  That other plumber said Shaka was inexperienced and should have known where the leak was.  It was so obvious what needed to be replaced.  A simple rubber gasket in the copper connection was old and replaced.  Leak stopped and toilet works perfect now.  I feel that I wasted $300 on Shaka Plumbing  plus my time and patience.  
 I will say that Neil and Nick were friendly and nice.  But they do not conduct honest business.  You are taking a risk hiring these guys.
