UPDATE:  Owners contacted me and noted that the issue was invoiced incorrectly, made corrections and sent me a new invoice for my leak damage. They are coming out next week to make some revisions to my electrical system.  I give them an A for effort so far.  Hopefully, things will work out.

ORIGINAL POST:
Mister Sparky came out to tell me if the wires in a particular room were OK after a leak.  He diagnosed a long list of things that would cost over 6K to repair....probably more like 7K...it was extreme.  These items were not near the leak.  Also, I was charged for a service that was not done according to receipt.  I had an inspection and the invoice said something else, which I hope wasn't more expensive than it should have been. It said a panel rejuvenation. Also, they charge an estimation fee.  In total, his visit was $407.  I called the office to get a corrected receipt for my insurance claim and they never returned the call.  If I follow up on the recommendations, I will not use this company.

Their representative was very polite and punctual. According to the list of needed repairs, I can assume he was thorough.  He just wasn't completing what I had called him for and instead came up with an extremely inflated repair list.  At the end, they have you complete a satisfaction survey right in front of the guy...rather uncomfortable...like you are going to say something bad right in front of him.  I was ready for him to leave...anything to get him out the door.

Minimal editorializing; will stick with the facts and let you decide.

* Electrician came out Jan 4, 2023
* Said he could not find the problem initially so he told me had to run additional diagnostics which would cost $300 (including the service fee)
* Turns out the problem could be clearly seen from a light that was out on a control panel related to my backup generator (yes - I'm kicking myself)
* Then he quotes me $1,500 to fix the problem (that is not a typo - $1,500)
* After regaining consciousness, I asked for a breakdown of parts, labor, etc.
* He said that could not be done (which is obviously ridiculous)
* Told him 'no thanks'
* Another provider came out today and fixed the problem - parts included - for $288

I've never had a more negative experience with a service provider than this.

Be careful, their estimate is not free even though they tell you it's free in the phone.

to run a cable to my garage....... their estimate was $8,000 plus.

it's a spam business and they live on the estimate fe

There are several locations, so I can't say which one because I'm not sure...but I want to thank Baron for his awesome professionalism when he came out to my home. He was very knowledgeable and explained a lot of things to me. Although my current issue couldn't be solved by him, he pointed me into the right direction, proper steps, and I feel safe and positive about this. He even came to my door with his own shoe covers, although I had some waiting for him. This really impressed me. Thank you Baron, at Mister Sparky Electrical...Happy Holidays!!!

Mister Sparky rescheduled my appointment because they had calls from other customers without power from the storm over night. Guess what, I have the same problem. I live in the neighborhood with the power issues also. When I asked if they would keep my appointment they said they might get me in Thursday...? I had an appointment I have an outage they scheduled another customer my appointment because they assumed their issue was worse without talking to me. Then they said they couldn't dare reschedule the other customer...please help me understand. Then the supervisor wouldn't take my call and said they'd call me back...im still waiting.

My human used these guys to correct electrical work done by another electrician.  They were professional, fast, reasonably priced and went the extra mile.  They also cleaned up after themselves.

My human was very happy with them....

NOTE: This rating is not based on the work.

FYI - There is a service fee to get a price on the work to be done. Meaning BEFORE they even start working you will be paying them to give you a 30 point inspection on your home (even if you don't want that) and then they will quote you. No free estimates here people!

I was just going through paperwork and pulled out my bill from this company.  I had one light switch that was not functioning properly.  The SALESGUY/ELECTRICIAN that came out said he had to conduct a full inspection.  My house was around 10 years old at the time so not old. He came up with a page full of recommendations of work that his company needed to perform.  Recommended work:  $5896.  Mind you I called for one light switch.   I ended up paying $341 that day for this switch and his inspection.  I never knew the inspection was a charge and would be so much.  He took forever to do this inspection.  It was a horrible/stressful experience.  I couldn't wait for this Mister Sparky employee  to get out of my house.  So BEWARE!  They will swindle you.

Mike came out last Friday after we were having AC issues.
Our electrical panel was on the fritz and we needed a new meter.

He was very professional and knew what the problem was right away.
Mister Sparky comes to your home with a fully stocked van, so we were able to get our problem fixed immediately.  He spent most of the day here working and had it all up and running in no time.
We got a great deal, but most importantly we felt he was honest and got the job done just like we wanted.
Great company, great employees, good prices.

I have used Mister Sparky a couple times before so I have an electrician that is assigned to my home. I like that they do that so I know who's coming and he already knows the house. Jeremy is my assigned electrician, and he's great! He explained everything to me and didn't try to nickel and dime me on stuff. I don't mind the service fee and the inspection fee because they need the information before they get to work on your property. It's a safety issue for them and you! I had another great experience today with Jeremy and plan on using them for the rest of the time I will live here.

Starting from a nominal rating of 3, I give a plus 2 for the electrician who arrived, on time, and was knowledgable, efficient, and professional.  That's a 5 star rating.  He did the job, advised me of some other electrical work I should consider attending to, and left.  Cudos to Leonard.  Thanks man.

Shortly after I got a call from Mr Sparky's office asking if I was satisfied with the service.  Yes, very I said.  I thought that to be great customer service.  Then I was requested to write a review here on Yelp.  I can't help but wonder if that same request would have been made had I stated that I was *not* happy with the service.  Minus 2 for possibly attempting to stack the reviews deck on Yelp.  That renders my review to a 3.  People make decisions based, in part, on these reviews.

Any feedback from others who did *not* like the service, got a customer service call and informed them of dissatisfaction, and yet was still asked to post a (likely negative) review?  If so, if some unhappy customers were, in that case, requested to write a review, then my rating of Mr. Sparky will rocket to a strong 5.  I hope that is the case, and if so, will happily amend this review.

Had a vintage 70s Federal Pacific panel replaced. First price was unacceptable. After some discussion and a call to a supervisor we settled on a reasonable price. The tech who came was very professional and did s great job.

I wrote a review on a service I had on 2/5/18 which I gave 3 out of 5 stars.  I loved the service but was concerned about the pricing.  I was pleasantly surprised to receive a phone call from the area manager who wanted to talk about my concerns.  He spent quite a while listening and explaining.  I feel a lot better about the situation and will definitely keep using them.

Over Priced ! A day late a dollar short. After the fact. I was talking to a friend about my bill for two fuses to be installed. The fuses are less than $50 anywhere you call or check on line. My Bill for two was $537.00. They get to people because we do not know. The state should step in on business like this

I'm giving the service 4-stars, not due to the work, but because of the price.  I would rate them 5/5 for the work done.  The techs were very professional and did an excellent job (although they did leave some trash behind in a trash bag) and there was no drywall damage.  They were friendly and explained all of the work they were doing.  The price was a bit much.  I had a bathroom vanity light installed and a recessed light installed which cost about $750.  Plus I had to pay to have them come and provide an estimate for the work (they did not do an inspection of my house like another reviewer stated).  Because of the price, I likely won't use the service again.  However, if you can afford it, they do an excellent job.

Was very happy with Mister Sparky.  Yovani was professional and did an excellent job of installing our ceiling fan to our patio.  They don't charge per hour but rather per job.  They will also tell you exactly how much things are going to cost up front.  So this means no surprises at the end.  I would recommend to friends and would have them back.

I called Mr. Sparky to address some concerns with my breaker box.  The phone staff was very helpful and courteous. They worked with me to schedule a time that was best for me.  The electrician who arrived, Mike, was very polite and knowledgeable.  Mike arrived on time and completed the job quickly.  Once the job was complete, Mike sent me a digital receipt to my email.  I wish more service company's would do this as I do not like paper laying around.   If I ever have the need for an electrician again, I will defiantly call Mr. Sparky and see they can send Mike back out.

Had a GFI outlet than needed replacing for an outdoor fountain. Called Friday morning and an electrician was out around noon- and they called to say he was on the way. Good customer service, polite schedulers and nice/quick service. Only thing may have been the set price. $238 to come out and replace the GFI unit which took all of 10minutes.

Wow...Rip off. Super expensive and they won't give you any idea how much it will be until they come out. Then they charge a service charge for being here 5 minutes. I would suggest you shop around and do not call Mr. Sparky!!

I had an emergency issue the Monday after Thanksgiving weekend.  I called several different electricians including John Moore.  They all said it would be at least 24 hours before they could come take a look.  I called Mr Sparky and they came out within an hour!  Mike showed up, was very professional, and fixed the problem fairly quickly.

Mr. Sparky and our Electrician (Mike) were absolutely outstanding.  I was interested in adding a whole house surge suppressor and called three local companies, one wouldn't even give me a quote and was going to charge $60 just to come look. The other quoted twice the price of Mr. Sparky and didn't even seem interested in the job.  Richard, at Mr. Sparky explained on the phone what they had, could do and that they even had a special price on it now.  After the appointment was set, I was called the day before to reconfirm, then called the morning of the appointment to tell me exactly the arrival time and then follow up the day after on the quality of the work.  Mike, our Electrician was great.  Right on time and very personal.  He took the time to check out the panel and even made some suggestions on things I may want to consider in the future but there was no pressure to do any of them now.  Mike installed the surge suppresser in a safe and efficient manner, explained it to me including the warranty and coverage and then at no additional charge took the time to add an oxidizer inhibitor to the aluminum power supply cables.   The bill presented was exactly what was quoted, including tax, i.e. no surprises or additional costs.  Mike was very proud of the company he worked for and said so both in words and the quality of the work he did.  This is bar none the best service work and experience I have had in the past five years.  Mr. Sparky will have all my future business.
