What a day, It all started 2 days ago when my wife Tammy saw water leaking from the water supply line to the fridge. It's under the floor joists in the basement ceiling. She shut it off with the little valve that's connects the hose for the fridge to the copper waterline.
The next day she noticed the water that leaked on the basement floor, had dried up. In the mean time, she and my step-daughter Tanya went to the store, as they usually do on Saturday, and decided they could buy a new water supply kit and repair it themselves.
In order to change the 'little &%$%#oops! valve' that attaches to the copper pipe, they had to turn off the water with the main valve coming into the house. This is when it got really interesting... OK, Water off? A-OK. Valve replaced? A-OK. Water turned back on?...... Mucho problema!..... Water spraying out of the top of the main valve! Ay, chihuahua!... Houston, we have a problem... (for those who are 30 and under, Apollo 13 had just experienced an explosion and astronaut Jim Lovell called mission control in Houston to report the problem.) Tammy had to turn the water supply valve off... now we have no water... and it's Saturday. Now what?
We need to turn the water off at the street to replace the main valve in the house, but it's Saturday and how do we contact anybody at the water company? Well you can't...
Now I'm worried... but was lucky to find a plumber who was willing to come and repair it.came Sunday afternoon and had difficulty finding the underground main valve in the alley. The standpipe ('curb box' for access to the valve, ) was leaning and had been pushed over at some point. It was also full of rocks and dirt because the lid was broken.
Richard dug by hand for a few hours before finally exposing the valve and used a special wrench to shut it off.
He then installed a new 'shut-off' valve inside the house and fixed the supply line to the fridge.
We found Jay to be a pleasant and courteous man and would recommend him highly and without reservation.

I have had terrible issues with other plumbers, especially with the ones home warranty companies use. Jaros has saved the day for me! Fast, reliable and great to work with. Small family business. Same small crew. No flashy marketing and big mark ups. Just great service! Highly recommend!!!!!!

My 5 year old furnace stopped working unexpectedly. The first place I called said it would be several days before they could have someone look at it. Mark was able to come out within 3 hours, diagnosed the problem in 5 minutes, and drove to get the part to make sure my furnace could be fixed the same day. While I hopefully will not need his services again for a long time, I will be sure to contact Mark for any plumbing and HVAC needs.

I need a plumber & found Mr Concannon's number from a different source. Since I didn't expect (or wish) that it would be a major job, I looked to limit it to someone local. I called him on a Saturday late morning & we connected immediately. I told him my circumstances & he offered to visit the next day, which I was OK with. I provided to directions & we left it there,
The next morning he called to let me know he was on his way, which was a nice courtesy. I'd guess he's about five miles south of where my house is. About 20 minutes later, he arrived. He went right to it & in about 10 minutes, the clogged toilet was no longer clogged.
He offered us a few tips on avoiding the problem in the future & was soon on his way. Apparantly, he works Sundays as a rule, which is good for households where there's typically no one home M - F during the day. His fee was about par-for-the-course of what any plumber would charge; certainly nothing outrageous for being there on a weekend. He left me with his business card which I'll prominetly display for the next time I need plumbing service.

I have had Armstrong Comfort Solutions to my house on several occasions. They originally came to tune up my air conditioner before using it in 2019. The technician was extremely professional and knowledgeable. I especially appreciated how he went above and beyond even hosing out my unit to make sure it was perfect before completing the job. I then used them again to do a check of my furnace 2019 before first use. Again, very professional down to wearing booties in the house. That is a nice touch. When I found out that they also do plumbing, using them was a no brainer. 3 toilet repairs and I am back in good working order at my house. Great company to work with.

I would never use another plumber after meeting Mr. Crowley. Professional, clean, he explained everything he was doing, and eased any nerves I had about the situation. Price was very very affordable.

Dont use these people! They do substandard work. Hired Golan to replace an aging boiler at one of my rental properties. His bid seemed reasonable but then he attempted to charge a $200 delivery charge, which I refused to pay. 4 months later and the new boiler is malfunctioning. He refused to return to the property until I paid the delivery fee. So I had to hire another plumber to replace and rewire the circulation pump, which was wired incorrectly by Golan and got fried. Cost me an additional $420!

We have 2 four year old toilets that were becoming hard to flush. I expected a change to the handles and flush tower gaskets. Instead he recommended a brand new $498 toilet to replace each. I declined.
The plumber only adjusted the water level in the tanks of each. It cost me $160.00.
Not much help.

Ben, Darren and the entire KB Plumbing team are, quite simply, phenomenal.
We first reached out to them by a word-of-mouth recommendation from our neighbors at the beginning of the pandemic, Spring 2020.
Since having moved into our home in the Fall of 2017, we had already had our exterior line completely replaced 3 months after buying it (our first ever home).
We were then, at this point, in need of our interior plumbing being replaced as well, as it had also failed due to the terra cotta deteriorating as well.
We didn't want to reuse the same contractors as before, because we were put off by the competitiveness of their practice (hard-sell techniques on the phone, excessive billboard and radio advertising, etc.)
Long story short, Ben and Darren replaced the interior plumbing for us, and we couldn't have been happier with their professionalism and quality of work.
After that large job (they worked with our homeowners insurance, around $10,000), I knew that I wouldn't ever again need to seek out another plumber - I wish I could craft all of the home professional contractors in the exact same mold as them - it'd make homeownership a breeze ;)
We just had them here again today, late 2022, for leaking coming from the main floor of our house down into the basement.
Darren wrapped the job up before lunch after showing up to take a look at it in the morning. He was honest with us on our options, and honest with us about recommending the least expensive, most straightforward fix for less than $300, fully explaining our problem (a drum trap from the 1960's with a rusted out lid, which he then replaced, instead of replacing the entire trap and cutting out the basement ceiling).
Hopefully the details I've provided in my review assure you of it being genuine, and assure you of the trust you can place in this fantastic team!

Sometimes the best services are located in your own neighborhood without even realizing it. I had been having trouble with a toilet latch value and called them last week. Originally scheduled an apt for Wed morning but when I woke up this morning, the latch had broken.
I called them and a serviceman named Tim came out to help me the same day. They do have 24 hour answering service but if you can hold out until the weekdays then obviously you save money.
He diagnosed the problem, asked me if I still wanted a white handle which I replied yes and then went and got one for me. Toilet working again. My bill came to $145.00 so I needed that explained to me. I was told that the majority of it was for the service call and of course the part which they get at one of their plumbing supply stores. He told me they don't use a home improvement chain since I know we have a Busy Beaver in the Crafton Ingram Shopping Center. He also told me they don't charge drive time costs just to come to your home.
I asked about the repair warranty and was told it was a year. I paid it and discussed a problem I tend to have on occasion with my bathroom sink getting clogged with soap scum. He told me to call anytime and they would be glad to look at it.
I wasn't given a price estimate before the work but sometimes that's the nature of the beast. I like the fact that they are located near the Ingram bus way stop so it's only a 5 minute drive to my Crafton home and I can get service fairly quickly.
Time will tell as I utilize their services for my plumbing needs to see how efficient and cost saving this company is to me. They offer everything you would possibly need including replacement hot water tanks. Tim was very friendly to me and very professional. So far I am pleased with the work accomplished within a reasonable amount of time.

I can't say enough good things about Dave, the owner of A Pittsburgh Plumber. He's a solid craftsman, and a friendly guy who obviously loves his work, He did some work for us today (replacing/repairing both gas and water pipes, valves, and faucets) and I couldn't be happier with the quality of his work, or his prices. I don't plan on calling another plumber in Pittsburgh in the future.

I called CALFO one day after I smelled a burning/metallic smell coming from some of my furnace vents. The temperature was going to be in the 20s for the next few days, so I needed to get whatever was wrong fixed ASAP.
They were able to come out the next day (a few hours later than I was anticipating) and check out the furnace. It turned out that the blower motor had died, and they quoted me about $900 to replace it. That seemed high to me, but I needed a fix and it seemed a bit too much of a pain to do it myself, so I just sucked it up and paid it.
The tech was nice, the blower motor was replaced in maybe an hour or so, and my furnace was back in action. However, I soon realized (as I suspected) that I had been price gouged pretty badly -- after some Google research, I found that a blower motor replacement tends to be around $450 up to maybe $600, so it seems I had been overcharged by quite a bit.
Ultimately they did good work, but it's probably worth it to shop around for better prices if you can.

5+ no shows, 75 days, lies to insurance company and A/C still not fixed.
I was assigned through an insurance company. If you have the option and need immediate/emergency repairs I would suggest looking elsewhere.
Kevin showed up the next day to diagnose the A/C was leaking refrigerant and would not cool. The next 75 days later and still no attempt to fix.
Had multiple appointments scheduled but no one ever showed up.
It was marked as service completed at the insurance company even though no one ever came. I imagine they were paid for the service that was never completed. I had to re-open the claim for a return service. But still no luck at getting it fixed.
Finally 60+ days later Chris showed up late Friday evening. He was told by coworkers that it was already fixed and just needed recharged which was not the case. Leak tests determined it was still leaking, obviously since it was never fixed.
No A/C all summer (even though the claim was opened in the middle of April). Best of luck if you get assigned them through your insurance company!

Iron Born gave us an estimate and told us he would do our small Project on a weekend, as he had larger projects on his plate. We were more than happy to have him come in on a weekend. For a month and a 1/2 he continued to delay this project with one reason or another. Once he finally gave us a date, he asked us to order the doors we wanted. In his estimate he quoted 800.00 for door (4 24x80 closet doors) install. Clearly, we thought this would include the doors in the price. He told us it did not. He apologized and said he would understand if we went with someone else. We said no, go ahead and pick up the doors, this project has been delayed enough. He wrote back, I have a bad feeling about this project. I am going to back out. sorry for wasting your time. All because told him we thought the doors were included in the price. Clearly, he did not want this project from the start and could have told us this. we were more than accommodating to his schedule and were going to pay for the doors in addition to the 800.00 for install.
