I'm in the process of buying a house and I hired these folks (based on several recommendations from friends and our realtor) to inspect the sewer lines going from the house to the street. Joe came out to meet us at the first house we hoped to buy and walked us through the inspection process. He was super friendly, explained everything really well (I have no experience with plumbing), and wrote me up quotes for a repair that he recommended as well as the full cost of replacing that section of the line. He also left me with a DVD copy of the camera inspection. We ultimately decided to buy a different house and hired Krupp Whitney again to do the sewer camera inspection. They found two different problems with the sewer lines that cost the seller over $21K to replace. This is money that would've eventually come out of my pocket had I not hired these folks.

Everybody I've met from Krupp Whitney is professional, knowledgeable, friendly and honest. I will be calling them for any plumbing work for as long as I'm living in Pittsburgh. I can't recommend them highly enough.

We needed a plumber to fix our toilet as it wasn't flushing properly. Being new to the area, and driving passed this business several times we decided to use them after reading their mostly positive reviews. They answered the first time calling and were quick with scheduling and coming to the house that morning. They were able to fix the problem, but it ended up costing $350. The price seemed pretty steep to me, but I've never used a plumber before and have nothing to compare it to. I also wasn't given any kind of estimate before hand.

They have been very good in times of emergency and don't try to invent issues to increase their bill. Highly recommend

I was in a pinch on a flip just prior to closing.  The home inspection found roots and cracks in the 65-year old sewage lines under the asphalt driveway and behind the house to the main sewer line.  The buyers preferred contractor (who claims to be lower cost because he is not one of the big nationwide franchises) quoted $18,000 to do the repairs under the garage and driveway with their trenchless service and replace the old line behind the house.  I have a preferred plumber who can be found in Franklin Park that always does great work at an honest price for me but he doesn't do the trenchless repairs. I asked if he would do the end of driveway to the main if I could find another plumber to do the trenchless work and he said yes.  I contacted several plumbers in the area including the buyers preferred plumber (who claims to be the best in the business) and no one was interested.  When I reached out to the professionals at KW they immediately accepted my request.  In the end the plumbing problems were repaired withing one week and I saved $8,000 over the original quote.  I would recommend them to anyone after that camera test comes back with an $18,000 quote.

We seem to have more plumbing issues than any other house related service. We've used three different plumbing services. I used Patrick E Chase Plumbing and he was spotty with communication and did an okay job. Then we used South Hills Plumbing and they fixed an issue that needed fixed 2 years later. Was this their fault or regular wear and tear, not sure. Then we used Mr. Rooter for a major emergency with our pipes in the basement and they were mega expensive and spotty with communication so I was ready to try another company.

I called late in the day and they returned my call the next day, but didn't have an appointment until 2 days later. Our toilet was broken, but we have another one so It wasn't an emergency situation. The guy that showed up was super nice, professional and quick. I truly appreciate that he explained the issue and fixed another one that he noticed, which I truly believe wasn't an up-charge, but needed fixed. The cost was $185 for the two issues, plus service. Mr. Rooter quoted me $250, plus parts. So clearly this company was less... and Rooter came to my house and tried to convince me to just get a new toilet for $350+. No thanks!

I will definitely call them again for non-emergency situations!

Scott came to re-review improper plumbing work done by another company and confirmed what we would need to do to have them correct it.  He is the nicest guy -- so honest and was willing to camera the sewage pipes to see what the issue is.  He gave advice on the proper fix that they should correct. (We Will See!)  I wish we would have used them for our big plumbing job but definitely in the future!!!  All plumbing companies should be as willing to help as they are!!
Thank you Scott!!

We hired Krupp and Whitney to do a camera test of our sewer line.
They determined that our trap was improperly installed and that there was too much debris to run the camera through. Then gave us an estimate to re-install the trap and clear the debris of $2700. Meanwhile, they did not bring a drain snake to the site, nor did they suggest that this might be an option.

We hired another company two weeks later. For $300, they snaked the sewer line and ran the camera, no problem.

I don't know if it was a misunderstanding, or incompetence, or malfeasance, but I can't say I would trust an estimate from this company in the future, nor would I recommend using them.

We selected K&W for a partial sewer replacement.  All external to the home, about 40ft of pipe.  Everything seemed to go well at first.  The 'closer' who gave me the quote and seemingly managed the project was very nice and responsive prior to contract agreement.

The first day, and several other times throughout the project, they no-showed and didn't say anything about it.  I had to call to see what was up.

The backhoe operator hit my power lines and the wire supports broke off of my house. They did handle getting it fixed with the utility.

Once the replacement was finally done, the inspector required them to rework part of the replacement pipe, which took about another week to get resolved.  They still have not cut down my vent and cleanout caps (currently sticking about 3ft out of the ground).  I'm tired of calling them to find out when they can come, so I'll have to finish this myself.

They also upsold me a hydrojet service, just to be able to inspect the connection to the main.  They found additional parts of the line that needed attention, and offered to provide a quote for finishing the replacement to the main.  This quote was never provided.

Overall, it seems like they do adequate work.  The reason for the 2-star review is due to all the communication and scheduling issues, as well as the fact as the job was never completed and I was left hanging. Will not be using them again.

Krupp Whitney came to our home closing to do a sewer inspection, and I was so impressed with their ease of scheduling that we used them to repair our sewer line.  Everyone I worked with and met at Krupp Whitney was fantastic.  Very professional, they use email (and respond quickly!), and transparent.  I don't know a ton about plumbing services, but if we ever need anything else, Nathan would be the first person I'd call.

Thanks everyone!!

This company is garbage. Does half assed shotty work. They dug up my uncles basement and just left huge piles of broken up concrete/dirt/mud all over the entire basement. Then they dug about a 15-20 ft deep hole out by the road and totally wrecked the yard with their machine. My uncle also watched the machine operator lower guys in and out of the hole with his machine claw, no trench protection anywhere on-site. When asked if that's a smart move, the operator said oh it's fine, I can tell when a ditch is going to collapse! Can't speak for the entire company, but the crew at my uncles were total clowns! Shame on the owners for putting young employees in very dangerous situations! The pile of dirt they left after they filled the 20ft deep hole was a small mountain! Call someone else for sure! My uncle was able to sneak a picture of the one guy working down in the hole I'll try to post on here so  everyone can see just how unprofessional and foolish this crew was.

I selected Nathan and team at Krupp Whitney to replace my failed terracotta sewer line, which included approximately 60 linear feet of 6 PVC replacement under my concrete driveway, along with the installation of a new house trap and clean outs per Allegheny County Health Department regulations.  They were extremely responsive and professional with their work, and Nathan provided updates as to the progress of the work and what the next steps would be.  Along with a professional product, they did the work at a significant cost savings compared to others.  I would highly recommend Krupp Whitney, and would gladly use them again should the need arise.

Joe & Nathan, and the rest of the team at Krupp Whitney far exceed expectations every time I speak to them or have used them at my house to resolve an issue with water or sewer lines. They understand customer service better than just about any other service provider I've used.

Both Edwin and Joe B. completed some minor items in addition to the reason for their primary visit without haggling me for more money. They were thorough, respectful, and thoughtful in completing the work while providing me with the what/when/where behind the issue. Thanks guys!

This company did two jobs for me. The first one was a scope of the sewer line on a property I was in the process of purchasing. I was very happy with the person who came out. He was helpful and informative. I would definitely recommend them for this service. The second job was to fix my shower and tub which no water was coming out of. We had some miscommunication and initially I was dissatisfied. I talked with Nathan and he made it right immediately. He was kind, courteous, and took my concerns seriously. Given this, I would use them again and would recommend them to others.

We were looking for someone to give us a quote on cleaning and repairing sewer lines.   When I called Krupp Whitney, Tyler promptly returned my call and came out the same day. And we weren't just around the corner or in his neighborhood.  He came from Pittsburgh to Rochester, Beaver County to meet with us and check out our issue. EXCEPTIONAL!  He was professional, thorough, friendly, and very informative.   It cost us $0 to have him view our sewer and drain lines and tell us what issues we were facing and what our options were.  We then scheduled to have them come back to hydro-jet clean our lines.  I don't know if there are enough positive adjectives to describe Josh and Mike, the two men who came out to clean our lines.  They were absolutely AWESOME!  Professional, knowledgeable, informative, understanding, respectful,... I could go on and on.   They worked in the pouring rain.   They tried all options to help us with old terra cotta lines filled with roots..  We had been quoted a price of $450 and that's what we were billed. And they were here for hours!  They took time to answer and explain and guide us on the best way to deal with the situation we are facing.  I happened to call Krupp Whitney by a fluke, actually you may want to call it a misdial.  But now I know that it was meant to be !   I will ALWAYS trust my plumbing needs to Krupp Whitney.  They are very reasonably priced, Honest, Knowledgeable and  very professional.  They are prompt and thorough.  They are considerate and respectful of the property.
I HIGHLY recommend them, especially for sewer line camera scoping, cleaning, or lining.    They are the BEST!!!!     What a peace of mind to know I have a reliable plumber!!!   Thank you, Krupp Whitney and especially....  Tyler, Josh and Mike.  You guys are Fantastic!!!

Sometimes the best services are located in your own neighborhood without even realizing it. I had been having trouble with a toilet latch value and called them last week. Originally scheduled an apt for Wed morning but when I woke up this morning, the latch had broken.

I called them and a serviceman named Tim came out to help me the same day. They do have 24 hour answering service but if you can hold out until the weekdays then obviously you save money.

He diagnosed the problem, asked me if I still wanted a white handle which I replied yes and then went and got one for me. Toilet working again. My bill came to $145.00 so I needed that explained to me. I was told that the majority of it was for the service call and of course the part which they get at one of their plumbing supply stores. He told me they don't use a home improvement chain since I know we have a Busy Beaver in the Crafton Ingram Shopping Center. He also told me they don't charge drive time costs just to come to your home.

I asked about the repair warranty and was told it was a year. I paid it and discussed a problem I tend to have on occasion with my bathroom sink getting clogged with soap scum. He told me to call anytime and they would be glad to look at it.

I wasn't given a price estimate before the work but sometimes that's the nature of the beast. I like the fact that they are located near the Ingram bus way stop so it's only a 5 minute drive to my Crafton home and I can get service fairly quickly.

Time will tell as I utilize their services for my plumbing needs to see how efficient and cost saving this company is to me. They offer everything you would possibly need including replacement hot water tanks. Tim was very friendly to me and very professional.  So far I am pleased with the work accomplished within a reasonable amount of time.

We first used KW Plumbing during our home inspection. The guy they sent wasn't able to perform the inspection because of a plastic pipe jutting out into the sewer. He was super courteous and explained everything. Then, two more guys came out to fix that problem and a leak in our bathroom. They were very communicative and both only charged us for what they needed to do, which was less than we originally thought. Will definitely use this company again as they seem honest and down to earth.

This plumbing company was amazing to work with and had very good rates with a spot on estimate. Super polite and unobtrusive, and finished in a timely fashion.

I was rear ended by this company while the driver, Scott Jenkins, was texting. They do not have car insurance and have been refusing to get in touch with my insurance company for months to resolve the matter. If a company doesn't even have car insurance, I am curious what other illegal practices they participate in, and what damage they could do to their customers property without accountability.
