Best Plumbing Services in Baltimore, MD

Catonsville Professional Services Plumbing Service
I've called on Catonsville Professional Services to do a number of things over the last ten years or so, and they have done all of them well.  They've built a deck, installed and repaired windows, added handrails to front and rear entrances, installed a generator, done a variety of electrical work, and probably many other things that I've forgotten.  They have experienced people to handle all these tasks.  I've trusted all their workers and have always been satisfied with their results.  I recently moved out of state.  They made sure everything was in order.  I will miss them.

Stop Leak Plumbing Service
I was experiencing minor water in my basement and didn't know way to proceed. I had Stop Leak come out and they were very professional. After a conversation, he actually suggested that instead of talking with him that I should be talking to a landscape drainage specialist.

I can really appreciate someone not preying on my ignorance and pointing me in the right direction. So I'm moving forward with a French drain on the side of my house and will continue to monitor how my basement fairs over the coming months.

Prime Plumbing Plumbing Service
Let me give a little backstory first.

I woke up Saturday to my sump pump outlet draining out like a tsunami. I did some initial troubleshooting to isolate the root cause of the issue before making calls around to local plumbers. All four of the local plumbers that came out to look at the issue provided work estimates for service line repair and replacements priced north of the $4k mark. With my home being a new construction built only two years ago I had a funny feeling that there was something else going on that did not require digging and infrastructure overhaul so I decided to take one last look around for reputable local plumbers.

I came across Prime Plumbing which had multiple five-star customer reviews on Google. We set up an on-site evaluation today 4/11/22 in hopes that someone would arrive earlier than the offered 11 AM to 2 PM time window.

45 minutes later we meet Nathan from Prime Plumbing who had arrived earlier than expected at no dispatch fee!

I gave Nathan the details of what was going on and he said this sounds like a familiar situation that he could resolve within 15 minutes without ground digging, slab breaking or overhaul.

15 minutes later we were back up and running with hot water!!!

He turned the outside water service valve back on and pointed out how the water service line meter reading did not change at all after the water service was restored. This verified that there was no leak in between the outside service line to the main water valve inside my home. At that point we went back out to monitor the reading on the service line valve. Still no change in the reading, still no leaks.

Nathan gave the go ahead to turn on the main water valve in the house. The service line meter reading slowly incremented as he expected.

We were able to verify water was restored inside the home and we also have our hot water back.

All this went down within 15 minutes as he promised.

That's simply incredible.

Nathan's strong basic troubleshooting foundation and plumbing expertise saved me an unnecessary $7,500 service line replacement, an unnecessary week's stay at a hotel, broken concrete, an uprooted ground and all the frustration that comes with that process.

He was able to root cause analyze and resolve an issue 4 other plumbing contractors overlooked and under analyzed.

To show our gratitude we ended up giving him a bottle of Belaire Rosè champagne as a thank you token.

Prime Plumbing is MY plumbing choice moving forward.

Thanks $1M Nathan.

What a great way to start a Monday.

L J Butler Plumbing & Heating Plumbing Service
I have an older house (built in 1924)...It's hard to find an old school professional for any job who truly understands the difference between working on my house versus a newer one.  Despite the little challenges, my water heater was replaced in about an hour.  I was able to watch the work & ask questions without feeling like I was being intrusive or talked down to (this is very important to me).
I called on Saturday night, received a phone call Monday morning, & the work was finished on Monday.
For sure, my go to plumber from here on out!!!!!

HB Home Service Team Maryland Plumbing Service
I wasn't too sure the last time my heat pump was serviced so I decided to call around to different companies for quotes. Some were overpriced and some just sounded incompetent. Air Plumbing & Heating were NEITHER of those two so I scheduled with them and wish I had done it sooner.

My service tech Bobby arrived and went over each step he performed. He also quoted me on installing air dampers (which I requested) and also seems like a reasonable price.

Happy to do business with this company again.

Pumphrey Plumbing Plumbing Service
My tenants had an issue that required BGE to come and repair the meter and pipes on the outside. However, they would not turn the gas back on until we had a plumber come to make sure everything on the inside was OK.

I had lined up another company to come out but it would be four days before they could get there. That was fine, except that, due to an unforeseen circumstance, they ended up having to cancel on the day they were expected. So, this left me having to try and find a plumber who would get out to the property the same day. Pumphrey to the rescue!

Zach was there within one hour and looked everything over and said it required more work than what was expected and that the owner would reach out to me.

I spoke with the owner, Jack, who explained the situation to me and said that they were going to try their best to get back out the same day once they got all the parts. He said otherwise it would be the next day. Well, they are miracle workers. Not only were they able to make the initial visit on the same day I called, but they were able to get the parts and go back and do all the necessary work that day as well.

My tenants now have hot water and heat again and are very appreciative. I am as well.

This is a fantastic locally owned small business that I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone who asked!

Catons Plumbing and Drain Plumbing Service
If you are thinking of using CATONS you should be aware that customer service representatives REFUSE to tell you their hourly rate in advance.

I phoned today to schedule a service call.  I was told that there would be a $68 fee for someone to visit my home and give me an estimate.  I then asked what their basic hourly rate for work was, and was told that it is company policy that they DO NOT give this information in advance of the home visit.  Only the technician who visits your home can tell you.  They confirmed that hourly rates do not change based on the job, but still refused to disclose it in advance.  I spoke to 3 different representatives and NONE of them was willing to tell me their hourly rate.  This, to me, is a serious RED FLAG.

The problem with this, is that once you finally learn the hourly rate, you still owe the $68 home visit fee - even if you discover the rate is much higher than you expected.

After complaining, I got a call from the General Manager who told me that hourly rates only apply to about 10% of the work they do - the rest (say 90%) is charged by a flat fee pricing policy. Thus, to avoid misunderstandings, they don't make it known to the customer in advance. When asked, he did disclose their hourly rate (which based on my research, was less than competitive) - Bear in mind this is after I asked 3 company representatives, and requested a call back from him.

To me, learning how much a plumber's hourly rate is in advance can tell you, as an educated consumer, a lot about their overall pricing structure.  If the customer isn't allowed to know in advance what the hourly rate is, it is difficult (or next to impossible) for the consumer to compare the flat fee with the hourly rate, and thus make a determination as to whether either price is fair or competitive.

The fact that CATONS refuses to tell the customer in advance (and has policies that BLOCKS their reps from revealing it) is a serious issue to me.

BTW: I was able to find several other plumbers in the area who were happy to explain both their flat fee policy and hourly rates immediately when asked - and without hesitation. I chose one of them for the work I needed done and was quite happy with the result.

Bulls Plumbing Plumbing Service
I am the owner of a property management company. I called Bulls to get a second opinion on a plumbing issue I had with one of my properties. I called Bulls and spoke with someone. As soon as I told them I was from a company, he states I don't work with companies and hung up the phone. That sounded really shady to me. The only companies I know that don't work with companies are the ones that do really shabby jobs and are in fear of being sued. I would not trust this company, try some place else.

Horizon Services Plumbing Service
We experienced an emergency incident overnight where our heating system went down in the middle of frigid conditions.  Following my research I called to schedule time for a tech visit and assessment. Everything was perfect as I explained the problem until I was asked for my address.  Upon which I was asked if I live in Baltimore City or County. When I responded that I reside in the City, the operator with a surprising yet embarrassed tone conveyed we don't work in the city, sorry and hung up.

Much to my surprise, I didn't get to share that my home is closer to their office location than we are to downtown Baltimore. In almost 2020 its disheartening to see that the stench of discrimination by where you live still exist.  This company doesn't even deserve the single star it's just been afforded.

Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Suburban Maryland Plumbing Service
We had a busted water heater and called Mr. Rooter on a Saturday evening. They quoted a price that included every thing, nothing extra because of it being the weekend. They came out the next day at the time they said they would arrive and the tech Stephen Loyd was awesome! He was friendly and quick..I would recommend this company and tech to anyone..
Was not disappointed!!!

H & K Plumbing Plumbing Service
Directed to H & k through our home warranty company for a broken hot water heater. Left message on Saturday, 4 calls and 2 messages on Monday, 2 more calls on Tuesday with no answer, no return call.  Demanded a new company from our home warranty company!  The new company proceeded to tell us we could have had it repaired in 48 hours vs now have to wait almost a week waiting for H & K.  Their website states customer service is number 1 priority!  I read the reviews about great service etc?  I couldn't even get a return phone call? What a joke!!

Ray Stefanski Plumbing & Drain Cleaning Plumbing Service
This plumber advertises on their website that they can clear clogged roof vents. I called for service and spoke with the owner who at first said they will try to clear it from the bathroom and then go to the roof. He called back, after I had someone go to my home to meet them, and said they would not go on the roof but could clear it from below. The came and snaked the sink and said sorry we can't do it but you owe us $265 (for 30 minutes of service).

This is a big scam! Not to be trusted!
PS. They did not reconnect the sink drain correctly after and I had to fix it.
