Best Plumbing Services in Fort Wayne, IN
A while back I called A&A Mechanical to service my Generac generator. I called Generac directly as the home I bought this year came with a large generator. I have never had a generator before and didn't know what needed to be done on it. They gave me a list of companies that service their generators near my home, and A&A was a company within my town. I called and scheduled an appointment with them in a few days. What was great was that I found out from them, that they used to service the generator for the old owner of my house.
They came, performed service on the generator and set it up so I get it serviced once a year. Technician was friendly and explained to me how my generator worked, how it would test the system every week, pretty much gave me a lot of useful info. I am very glad I did get it service because two weeks later, my area lost power for an entire day. Seems some squirrel(s) messed around a nearby electrical substation. Immediately my generator kicked in... and it's an amazing generator powered my entire home! I so could have used this when I lived in Miami during hurricane season! If I didn't get it serviced, I would have been without power and I would have lost a stand alone freezer and a refrigerators worth of food... so I saved a lot of money!
If you have a generator, get regular service.... and get it from A&A!
Seems also per the website they also do work in plumbing, heating and A/C... so something to keep in mind too.

I called at 7 am, he said he could be here around 10, but couldn't promise it would be at 10. He backed into my driveway at 959. Came in got job done, left things as they were when he came. Super nice! Not a ridiculous price. I will call again!

I had a pretty major repair that needed done, and A-1 took great care of my problem, and at a reasonable price for all that needed done. I would definitely hire them again.

Top notch service and professional work done in a timely manner.. Truly deserve the reputation they have built one satisfied customer at a time. Some of the hardest workers I have met.

Clogged washer line. They arrived 1.5 hours after their window of 11-1. No apology. I was terribly sick. Had to call for arrival time. They didn't call or keep me up to date. He offered a $10 discount. Terribly disappointed with lack of apology and overall customer service.

My service request was a kitchen faucet be installed (I already bought faucet), leaking outdoor spigot be repaired, a bath fan be installed (already bought fan to replace a smaller version), and 2 outside lights checked to see why they weren't working. Scheduler was friendly, promptly got text confirmations of service date. Scheduler said although some personnel do both plumbing & electrical, they would send two separate people.
They arrived on time, were polite. The house was already empty as it was getting ready to be listed for sale, so there was nothing hindering their work. Plumber was good & kept me informed as to what issues he was running into, requiring a return visit the next day. He showed me what caused the original leak in spigot. I actually didn't have an issue with the plumbing project, and the cost was $300, which was about what I expected.
HOWEVER, the electrician was busy going up and down stairs to attic, didn't say a word about what he was doing. Two additional electricians arrived midway, and didn't really explain why they were there -- I thought the first one needed help with something. One of them asked me if I had a replacement fixture for outside, and I said no, but there was no further conversation. They cleaned up very well after themselves but never showed me what they had done, nor said anything, other than the office would send me a bill.
I almost fainted when I got a bill for $745 , in ADDITION to the plumber's bill for $300! They had run a new vent system in my attic, cut a new hole in the side of the house for it (which I didn't see until I opened attic days later), and replaced both outside lights without telling me they were doing so or giving me any option of what type they were installing. I would never have spent $70 just for a single light fixture for a house I am getting ready to sell!
I was very upset that I had no input or knowledge of what they decided to do, and when I called Borchelt to express my concerns, the person I spoke to said he was one of the electricians working there, and that their work order did not say to give an estimate, just to do the work. He said he couldn't do anything about the bill, just know for future reference (as if I would ever do business with them again!) that you have to specifically ask for an estimate. Why would the plumber tell me what he was doing and what options there were, yet the electrician(s) just decide to do everything without telling me?
So... all in all, $1,045 to install a faucet that I provided, replace a spigot, install a bath fan that I provided, and install two lights that I wouldn't have replaced had I known cost. And the icing on the cake was, they accidentally shut the gas off to my water heater, requiring a return visit this week to relight the pilot light (which they generously said would be at no additional cost).
Exceedingly disappointed in this outrageous bill and absolute lack of communication by their service providers. I see another review also citing the lack of communication, which I wish I would have seen before calling them. Never, ever would I recommend them!

This company has a very bad reputation with me! I called them out to work on a sewer line back in February 2019 and they not only sent out the worse and laziest worker they have! They gave me an arrival time in the early afternoon and the idiot arrived here at almost midnight, he told the tenants he'd be back the next morning and guess what? He never showed up! Said he was going to come talk to me but yet he never said a word to me! He not only did not do any work on the trailer, but he left everything laying on the ground and even allowed raw sewage to dump out onto the ground! Then they send me a bill for over $700 for nothing being done! I finally found another company to come and do the work which was done correctly! I will never use affordable sewer service ever again and if i catch them on my property ever again I'll file trespassing charges on them! I complained several times to them and all they wanted to do was argue with me and told me to call their owner! Really me call the owner? The owner should have been calling me! My best advice to anyone needing sewer work done don't call affordable sewer service, call someone else of you don't want a bill sent to you when nothing was done! They can eat that bill for over $700.00 because they will never get me to ever trust them again! You should not trust them either! Use Shoda, use golden rule, use anyone else but affordable sewer!
