Syd's Pumbing & Repair Plumbing Service
I had been told by another, highly rated plumber that I need to replace my  sewer line and water supply line.  A third plumber never bothered to come out after one email and two phone calls.  Syd and two colleagues showed up on time and asked me if anybody has run a tv camera through the sewer pipe yet.  He said he could not give me an estimate unless he first did a video inspection.  When he opened the pipe, he found it was completely backed up.  He said he would have to clean out the pipe first, at a cost of $350, but he would not charge for the video inspection.  Once he was able to run a camera through the line, he said there was no need to do anything else.  The other estimate I got was for $10,300, so this was welcome news.  I could not be more pleased with Syd's Plumbing & Repairs.  His fed are very reasonable, he knows what he is doing and he is HONEST!  I highly recommend him!

I really appreciated the technician Henrri Benitez calling me ahead in order to arrive earlier than my scheduled time for service.  He was very professional and offered good maintenance tips that will help me avoid future problems with my toilet.  Great customer service and friendly.

Belle View Plumbing Plumbing Service
I contacted Ibrahim regarding a slow leak on my bathroom sink. He was very responsive over text, showed up on time, and properly identified the source of the leak. I originally thought the leak was on the water shutoff valve, but Ibrahim showed me that it was coming from the faucet junction. Great service!

Your Plumber Plumbing Service
Daniel was very professional, knowledgeable and arrived on time.  He did a fantastic job removing our old toilets, and installing the new ones.

Daniel cleaned up the areas when he was finished.  He made sure that we were completely satisfied before he left our home.

I would highly recommend Daniel for all of your plumbing needs.

Can't believe Jerry is getting a poor rating.  Recently, Jerry did a great job on replacing bathroom sink fixtures, garbage disposal, and fixed my toilet.  (a lot of deferred maintenance).

R.L. Voight & Son, LLC Plumbing Service
We called them over to take on a job our handyman shook his head at - a dual-sink to solo conversion disposal install. Upon arriving, Stacy was great with our two dogs, super polite and explained everything along the way.

There was very little room to work with, but he gave us the plan A and plan B options and went to work. Stacy definitely knows his stuff and got the job done right the first time. We've used Voight before but will always ask for Stacy going forward. Highly recommended if you value transparency in pricing with high-quality work!

Sam's Plumbing Plumbing Service
I needed to get the standpipe, which runs from my downspout to the city sewer, flushed (about 20 feet long).  The standpipe was overflowing due to a clog.

The company was very responsive.  Cristian showed up on time, wore a mask, was polite, explained the situation, and completed the job successfully.  Was also very convenient to be able to pay using Venmo.  I would use this company again.

Ruach Home Services Plumbing Service
Ruach Home Services, and its owner, Tony Harvey, did an outstanding job remediating a long-neglected black mold problem in my basement and entry hall.  I first hired him to take care of mold that had grown on the vaulted ceiling in my hallway.  He and his very professional staff removed the drywall from the ceiling and other affected areas, treated the mold, then replaced the drywall and repainted disturbed areas.  I could not tell there had ever been a problem.  Although Tony counseled that I should have my basement checked for mold, I delayed.  Later, after another basement flood, with the basement mold spreading, I called him again for help.  He came immediately, drained the water, and assessed the mold situation, which was extreme.  He and his staff took care of getting a dumpster, removing furniture and other stuff from my basement, and waiting for me to decide what to save and what to trash.  In the end, he had to remove all of the drywall from the basement.   When he saw what was behind the drywall, he advised me that I should consult a foundation and waterproofing expert due to unusual features of my foundation.   Bottom line:  I feel very lucky to have had Tony and Ruach  tackle my problem.  They are responsive, knowledgeable, professional, and fair.  Big plus:  Tony is a licensed contractor, and experienced in many construction fields (important to me), and all of his workers are extremely pleasant to work with.

Gridpoint Plumbing and Heating Plumbing Service
Bottom Line Upfront: I can't recommend Alfonso and Alfonzo of Gridpoint Plumbing highly enough; reach out to them for any job big or small. They can handle it, will do excellent work, and will provide top notch customer service.

I took over management of a 150+ year old mixed use property in DC, which needed A LOT of plumbing work - the entire building's galvanized pipes needed replacement, many of the fixtures like faucets, sinks, and supply lines needed replacement, the toilets and shower needed repair, the HVAC's condenser pipe was broken clean off and draining down the side of the building, and the spigot in the rear of the building didn't work. As is the case with older buildings, no work is ever simple because there have been changes to standards, different people doing work, and there are always unforeseen issues. I should also mention that the building is occupied by two commercial tenants and one residential tenant and the work needed to be completed around their schedules/needs.

I was introduced to Alfonso and Alfonzo by my personal plumber who prefers not to work on multi-tenant properties. They are a father/son duo with decades of plumbing experience (and, really, general know-how of how buildings work). Not only did they do an excellent job taking care of all of the plumbing issues I listed above, they provided honest advice and very reasonable prices and bent over backwards to accommodate my tenants. Some examples of their superior customer service:

- One of the tenants refused to let Alfonso and Alfonzo work during the day, so they agreed to work at night for no additional charge

- Each night, they would stay late to ensure the water would be back on during the day for the tenants

- They worked strategically in certain areas at a time to minimize the disruption to the tenants, rather than just ripping everything open and doing whatever was convenient

- They noticed my tenants hadn't cleaned their air conditioners' filters and cleaned them for no charge and without me asking

- One of the tenants did sloppy electrical work without permission and knocked out power to half the building while Alfonso and Alfonzo were getting ready to work. They stopped what they were doing, diagnosed the issue, provided a temporary fix for free, and called several electricians to find one who could come out immediately and fix it (this is another benefit of hiring Gridpoint Plumbing - they have all kinds of connections with a variety of contractors).

Aside from all of this, Alfonso and Alfonzo are really great guys. You can really depend on them to get the job done right. They've earned my business for as long as they want it. Trust me on this: stop reaching out to dozens of plumbers; your search is over.

Quality Sewer & Drain Plumbing Service
I had found Quality on a whim when searching for my last estimate, reference my sewer issue. I'm so happy that I found them! Saved me from taking down a tree, digging up my yard and replacing a line that didn't need to be replaced. Greg and his Team are the best I've come across, and I had 4-5 other companies check my issue. I highly recommend Quality!!!! I even recommended to some customers at a Home Depot in the plumbing isle!

Aqua Plus Plumbing Plumbing Service
Aqua Plus performed excellent work for us, specifically Burchell who came to help us out. This included repairing a detached shower head, installing a bunch of isolation valves, fixing our main shut-off valve, and repairing our water heater. He was friendly and good at explaining what he was doing and the ins and outs of the work he performed (what parts did what, how he was going to install something, and why something was needed or not). One thing I really appreciated was that he did not try to upsell me on unnecessary things that I thought we had needed to fix.

We were so satisfied with Aqua Plus that we called them back 2 months later (the time of this review) for more work. Burchell helped us install a shower and also fixed our front hose spigot. If we need any sort of plumbing work in the future, I am definitely calling up Aqua Plus. Great communication, experience, and value. (Note: I've dealt with a fair share of plumbing companies in the DMV area and many of them are unprofessional, rude, or perform shoddy work. Not so with this company.)

OHA Home Service Plumbing Service
**UPDATED 3/20- Huge thanks to Scott for coming out immediately and rectifying the issue I previously had! He took care of my vent cleaning personally, sent photos, and called me as soon as he was done. This is how all business owners should handle valid complaints. Because of Scott's service I am very pleased with this company and have no problem referring them in the future.

Capitol Handyman & Plumbing Plumbing Service
I've used Capitol Handyman several times from smaller fixes to larger projects, and they have been really great to work with! David and his team have always been quick to respond, able to fit my projects into their schedule quickly, and do a great job with the work. The latest project was to have them complete several larger painting projects. David's supervisor, Moshe, and his team helped us with this work, and they did a fantastic job! I'd highly recommend!!

Magnolia Plumbing Heating & Cooling Plumbing Service
Magnolia called me claiming my landlord requested service for my apartment. I told them I didn't know anything about it and wanted to talk to my landlord first. They were calling me multiple times a day demanding that I schedule something and I kept telling them I wanted to talk to my landlord first and then would call them back. I have continued to get calls from this company for over two weeks, sometimes multiple calls on the same day or on weekends. The customer service reps are snippy with me when I ask them to stop calling and just wait for me to talk to my landlord and then call them back. They make it sound like this is my only chance to get my AC serviced. Harassing me is not going to make me want to do business with this company any sooner!

CroppMetcalfe Plumbing Service
I used them to fix my central A/C.  They charged me $550 for filling up Freon.  They said about 5 lbs.  Then two days later, my A/C is blowing warm air.  These guys don't know what they are doing and I would not recommend this guys for anything.  This company is ripoff.  I would like to give them minus 5 stars.

A Better Plumber Plumbing Service
I do not recommend this business. We had a simple clogged kitchen sink that needed a good professional snake. I called in the morning and got an appointment for the same day. However, they failed to mention I would be waiting ALL day. The service man didn't show up until 7:30 pm, right in the middle of dinner. I was then quoted $488. ALMOST FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS!! For a simple snake job!! I couldn't believe it. My jaw is still on the floor. Then he proceeded to recommend that we try boiling a huge pot of water and pour it down our PLASTIC pipes. Unbelievable. We did NOT hire them and went with another local guy who charged us a modest $250, came and went by noon the next day, and told us to absolutely never pour boiling water down our drain. Thanks for nothin' A Better Plummer. You're simply not 'Better'.

Washington, DC
Gaithersburg Plumbing Plumbing Service
I used Gaithersburg Plumbing because they're contracted through my home warranty. We were having a leak under our kitchen sink, so they sent someone by to repair it. Within two days, the leak had returned, requiring a second visit. The second plumber came, realized the problem, and fixed it promptly. They also replaced a toilet for us a few months ago with no difficulty.

I'm not upset about the botched first visit, these things happen. Here's what bothered me:

When the second plumber came over, he noticed some water-related damage to the floor in our kitchen. When he called in to his office to check with his manager for advice, I was able to hear a massive tirade of shouted profanity coming out of the phone. I'm sure his supervisor was trying to avoid any liability, but the amount of abuse he was heaping on his employee was intolerable. I wouldn't work for an employer who treated me that way, and I won't do business with a company that treats their hires that way. If I need more plumbing work done under my home warranty, I'll insist on another plumber.

Jenkins W Plumbing & Heating Plumbing Service
Kevin Jenkins came to my house to fix the kitchen sink - turns out one small $3 part had come unscrewed. It took him in total 35 mins (including going to get the part) and he charged me a ridiculous amount of $180 for the service. Refused to give an estimate or talk price until he presented me an invoice at the end. Charged a $45 travel fee to drive less than a mile. Completely unprofessional and I was extremely dissatisfied with the service. The only good part was that he was only about a half an hour late and came on a Saturday. DO NOT USE HIM.
