He was so quick to respond, diagnose our issue, and let us know that we'd need to contact a different company for our specific issue (jetting the sewer line).  He then found a referral and provided quickly.

David is a great plumber!  We've use him twice so far to fix our water heater and kitchen sink leak - not only is he reasonably priced, his knowledge surpasses past plumbers we've used - he diagnoses the problem right away and does a perfect fix.  He also gave us some invaluable tips.  No need to search for another plumber.

Talked to four other plumbers who all wanted to chuck our hot water heater into the land fill and start over. Not David! He found a fix on a Sunday for a very fair price. We're not ready to send this baby to the land fill until we absolutely have to.  Thank you, David!

David was exactly what other Yelpers said...honest, friendly, responds in a timely manner and fair in his pricing. What I discovered about him was his thorough explanations and demonstrations in troubleshooting and what works best. And his honest opinion on fixtures (i.e. 30+ yo toilets) in the event whether they need to be repaired or replaced in the future. I could go on and on but you get the picture. We have found our go-to plumber for life.

David is the absolute best. Not because he's honest, talented or kind (though he most certainly is all of those things). He's the best because he genuinely cares.

David's worked on a few projects for me: repairing a noisy toilet, changing out all of the hardware in my kitchen, and taking a look at my plumbing to make sure all was in order. He did all of those things thoroughly, efficiently and professionally, and followed up with me to make sure all was in working order after the jobs were done.

David is one of a kind. If I ever have an issue or a project, he's my first call.

Our kitchen sink drain was clogged on a Saturday afternoon. David replied to my message in about 15 mins and was over to fix it within an hour of my initial call. While here he also fixed a slow leak in our toilet which two other plumbers were unable to fix over the past couple years. On top of all that he was a pleasure to work with!

What more is there to say about David other than that he is AMAZING. I recently moved into a 1920s home that needed a lot of plumbing work and David did it all thoroughly and thoughtfully. When one of the projects needed an extra part, he sourced it for me at no extra charge. I've thrown a lot of projects his way, but they're no match for his knowledge and professionalism.

Having dealt with many a plumber in my lifetime, David is top tier. Every time I call, I get an immediate answer and am able to schedule an appointment within a matter of days. He's already completed about 7-8 projects for me and will continue to be my go-to for any future plumbing needs!

David was able to provide same-day service to fix a leaking outdoor spigot. From David, I learned the culprit was electrolysis. The previous plumber used two dissimilar metals, causing one piece to corrode and lead to the leak. He clearly provided my options on how to resolve the leak and ensured I understood the work performed. He had to work in a tight space too because the electrician placed a box tightly adjacent to the spigot.

I would undoubtedly use David again for future plumbing needs. Wonderful overall experience - from scheduling, the work itself, and the reasonable rate.

Dave is the best.  We have used his services several times very the last seven years and he's professional, honest and decent.  He does great work at a fair price and communicates great.  Over the years he's fixed both basic and complex problems as well as telling us when something like rooting needed to be handled by some other company. He has relaxed garbage disposals, new faucets, installed shower heads, unclogged crazy drains, replaced toilet hardware and more.

Dave was incredible and was able to fix all our plumbing needs  after moving in to a new house. He was able to fix a leak in our toilet, install a new water filter, connect our refrigerator, install new pipes for our sinks, and ensure that every thing was working properly before we moved in. He was incredibly responsive and walked us through each issue so we knew what problems to look for in the future. We will definitely be hiring Dave in the future for our our plumbing needs.

I should have left this review sooner, because Dave is a plumbing rock star!!!  I had three previous plumbers try to fix a toilet that didn't flush completely.  A few of them could fix it for a minute, but it soon reverted to its bad habits.   Dave went further than any of the others and discovered that somehow a plastic hotel key had become lodged in the toilet.  He found this by meticulously examining the workings.  I can't say enough good things about him, and he is the only person I will call going forward.

I first hired David two years ago to fix an issue I had (that was created by another plumber) and after two hours I whispered to my fiancé I have found my plumber for life.

Not only was he responsive, diligent and technically proficient, he was quite hilarious and charming as well. Since then, I've used him in multiple houses and commercial properties. (I do real estate and property management)

He has never been late, never left a job undone, and never once left me less than 100% satisfied. He is also a poet and loving father. We've become friends of sorts and I would do anything to help him build his business into, what I feel, is the best plumbing business in Los Angeles.

We've thrown insane jobs at him, from high end faucets needing to be cut out of high end countertops without a scratch, to backed up sewer lines in need of a less delicate approach.

Call him, book him, and sleep tight knowing that you've found at least one service technician who does his job well. The only negative I see from David is that he isn't also into HVAC and carpentry:)

We needed help taking out our dishwasher and other appliances-  After our floor wood floors were replaced he also reconnected the appliances. Although Wallace is a plumber he helped us with other appliances, as well.
We have used him to many times - He has put in a new facet in our Kitchen sink- While installing it he pointed out areas of future concern.

Our shower stopped draining so we called David. He had to try a few different methods to get it unclogged but he didn't give up and got the job done. He was professional, talked us through each thing he was going to try before doing it, and cleaned up afterwards. David is an amazing plumber, and friendly too. He installed our new garbage disposal perfectly and recommended that we replace our rusting kitchen sink faucet in our recently purchased home. The faucet was old and needed replacing and David came back the following Saturday and did it for a very reasonable price.

Hands down, the best.  Takes his business seriously, extremely knowledgable  and went the extra mile to make sure I was happy.  Price was also very affordable and again, the work done was exceptional. I have what is like a brand new toilet!
I called him over New Years and he was the only one who made himself available the day after.  In between the time in which I called him (New Years Eve) and when he arrived, he gave me several very helpful tips on what to do in the meantime to slow the leak to a stop and was very clear with me about my options, without any salesman pressure.

Absolute gem of a guy. He arrived within 3 hours of my initial call. He texted me updates of his arrival and showed up on time. He quickly fixed my issue and pointed out some other potential problems I may want to take care of. Normally I'd raise my eyebrow at that, but not with David. After searching for a local plumber, I found David on Yelp. I like the fact that he was a one-man business and advertised that he was vaccinated. He also reached out to me in the evening and he came on time the next day. David took care of a Toto toilet's hissing fill valve and replaced a vanity sink. During the two hour process, he also educated me on various plumbing issues around the house, including replacing the washing machine hoses, not replacing the older stop valves under the kitchen sink, and how to maintain tension on the angle stops. David is  a very competent, respectful, and easy to get along with. He doesn't do unnecessary work, he doesn't talk your head off, and he isn't messy. Hope this helps.

David was great!  He was busy but still was able to squeeze me in to fix my kitchen sink day of! He was able to fix the clog, replace a pipe and finished very quickly!  As a female who was at home alone at the time, I felt very comfortable and safe while he was here.  He came in with a mask and maintained his distance but kept me updated on all of his progress the entire time he was here. David got in touch quickly, got to our house quickly and was able to replace our broken dish disposal a lot faster than I would have anticipated. He also advised us on the replacement unit model and size. He's friendly, efficient, and was very communicative. The new dish disposal is working great now and we'll hire him again the next time we need some plumbing help.

We highly recommend Wallace Plumbing. David is friendly, professional, punctual and very reasonably priced. We needed a pipe replaced under our bathroom sink. The job ended up being more involved than we had described, but David performed the repair perfectly. He even cleared a slow drainage problem we had been experiencing for years.  And being a true perfectionist, David reconsidered a part he had used and asked to come back the next day (Saturday) and replaced the part 100% free of charge. Who does that?

Needed a plumber to fix our hot water heater. Called Dave this morning and in less than 5 minutes got a call back. I sent him a picture of the unit and he gave me a quote over the phone. Scheduled a same day appointment and he was there on time and even texted me to let me know he was on his way. The job took longer than he initially thought (not his fault at all, it had to do with the placement of the water heater). The price was exactly what he quoted over the phone. He fixed the water heater and gave us some tips for the future and for when the unit will need to be replaced. We will definitely be calling Dave for any future plumbing needs!

Have had two occasions in the last month to use David Wallace. Heard about him from some of these Yelp reviews.

First impressive quality was how promptly he responded to my initial calls (within 30 minutes). Then he asked for photos of the unit (water heater and then garden faucet / pipe), and both times he responded within 30 minutes assuring me that he could make repairs.

I have a larger job that requires a plumbing contractor and he didn't hesitate giving me recommendations.

David is extremely efficient and personable. Highly recommend him.

Hired David to replace an old garbage disposal. He responded quickly to my initial inquiry on yelp and was very upfront about his pricing.

The job was done fast! Less than an hour to get the new disposal in.

I then asked him to check on a clog in the piping where the disposal was installed and he was able to clear it.

Fast friendly service at fair prices. Would recommend to anyone.

Dave went above and beyond.

I had an issue with a sink backing up.  The level of this back-up was beyond DYI, so I called him to save the day.  He dropped what he was doing just to come by and diagnose the problem.  He arrived within 20 minutes of my call!  He looked at the situation, gave me a quote and we set an appointment for him to come back in 2 days.  Unfortunately, that evening and the next day, the issue got worse and I called and asked if he'd come back ASAP.  He came back within a few hours and fixed the problem.  He came in on budget, was nice, funny, and accommodating.  He truly made me feel like a priority, made an extra effort to be timely, and was extremely helpful.  An added bonus: it's always a pleasure to work with someone who seems to truly love what they do.

Submitted my plumbing issue through yelp to Wallace Plumbing and got a response within minutes... literally, minutes!
After a quick chat on the phone, Dave worked with me to find a time that suited my schedule that very same day. Dave arrived on time, tools in hand and explained what was going on as he diagnosed the issue (great communication). The issue was resolved and once again I have clean dishes ;) - thanks Dave!!

Our kitchen faucet was leaking on a Saturday night. We called Mr. Wallace the very next morning to see if he could come out to fix our issue on Monday. Mr. Wallace was gracious enough to come out the same day that we called him and was super nice and helpful! Mind you, I'm 39 weeks pregnant and could have my baby any minute! We definitely felt better knowing our leaky faucet would be fixed before I went into labor. He was just so kind and tried to help us parents to be soon save as much money as we could. We have lived in Playa for years and Wallace Plumbing is our go to for plumbing issues. David lives in the community and his children go to school in the community as well. One of our toilets was running and the other had a gnarly clog. I called David at the many other recommendations in my moms group. He was on time, informative, quick, pleasant, and reasonably priced. Dave recently helped us with a drainage issue with our dishwasher. Similar to others experience, he is EXCELLENT.  Here are the reasons why:
- He called me back promptly after I left a message.
- He helped me describe the problem by asking directed questions to help pin point possible sources.
- He was able to come to by my home quickly and arrived on time.
- He knows his stuff and explains what he is doing/trying so I was able to understand.
- He successfully fixed our issue.

I needed to get a new toilet installed and saw all the great reviews that Wallace Plumbing got so I gave them a call.  David was really pleasant over the phone and reworked his schedule to accommodate my schedule.  When he arrived to our Asian household he even asked if we wanted him to put on shoe covers... so great!  Anyway, he prepped for the toilet and when he was ready to put the new toilet on, we found out that the toilet I had bought was cracked!  No problem though because David waited for me to get another one at Lowe's without charging me extra!  After he got the toilet on, he triple and quadruple checked his work to make sure it was all good.  

This guy is the real deal.  He prides himself on his work and charging a fair price.

He's definitely going on my speed dial.

David continues to save my bacon.  I had a shower that wasn't working, and guests that were coming into town the next day.  David came, and problem solved a complex (old) shower valve, and got it working again in no time.  He is always very responsive and helpful.  I cannot recommend him enough.

Dave is FANTASTIC! He has come to my house multiple times and fixed a wide variety of issues: leaky faucets, clogged toilets, toilets that don't flush, etc. etc.
He is HONEST and prompt and reasonable. He cares and goes above and beyond to find fair solutions to problems.
I need a big repipe job soon and he gave me a referral and told me exactly what to tell them so they don't try to cut corners or overcharge.

Honest, efficient, reliable -- it just doesn't get better.

Owner David Wallace has replaced toilet valves and re-seated toilets for me, and it always went quickly, at an incredibly fair price and with top results.  He is very knowledgable and responsive, and was able to work on short notice within my schedule.  David explains everthing clearly too, and is a pleasure to work with.

I love how business owners always think negative reviews must somehow have been written in error.

No error here. I'll give a few additional details about my experience:

I work as an assistant in the Beverly Hills area. My boss had several plumbing issues that needed to be addressed, so I called Wallace Plumbing based on the great Yelp reviews. David said he was too busy to handle the job, and gave me the names of two other plumbing companies he recommended. I looked those companies up on Yelp, and their reviews were mixed.

A few weeks later, we had an additional plumbing problem, and I thought I'd try David one more time in case his schedule had opened up. Again he said he was too busy to take the job (we weren't on a strict time schedule, so I thought it was really odd that he didn't even offer to come on a future date). He didn't ask for any photos or mention anything about his service area. Having this happen twice left a bad taste in my mouth.

Look no further for your plumbing needs: David Wallace is the person for the job. He is a true professional and is very kind, honest and personable. He has helped my family numerous times and is our go-to when s*&* hits the fan (pun intended). His response is always quick but, most importantly, his service gets the job done. I called David on Saturday am - my toilet was not cooperating. Even though he is in Redondo Beach and I am by the Grove he said he'd be there in an hour. Amazing. As it turns out my landlord came home and fixed the problem.

Wallace Plumbing is the best. He was nice and honest. He repaired my shower head., that was installed by a contractor who broke the pipe and covered it with tape. After a few times use it broke water was everywhere. Mr. Wallace was able to get the broken piece from the wall and installed a unit I purchased.  He also installed a toliet bidet. He was in and out in less than 1/2 hr.
Got estimate for the same job and that guy told me he had to cut through stucco outside wall. For a honest fast kind plumber  Mr. Wallace is the man.
I will recommend Wallace Plumbing to all my family and friends!

Forgot to Yelp this guy when he was here last year, but just got a call from a neighbor with a plumbing emergency so here goes: David is a great guy and a great plumber. He is a pro at diagnosing what is wrong and in our experience what he fixes stays fixed. The work he did for us is as solid as ever, cannot recommend him more highly.

Honestly this review is for selfish reasons, so I can find him in a flash next time we need him.

Customers are at a plumber's mercy usually because of the nature of the emergency. If you're not familiar with plumbing, you can easily be taken advantage of (like in most service industries).

We hired David once and were happy with his work, but we decided to bring him back for a second time because we trusted him. He ended up doing a lot more work than we originally hired him for, but it wasn't because he tried to upsell us.

In an industry where integrity isn't always maintained  David is a step above. Not only did he explain and price everything before he did the job, but he's also very fast. His 20+ years of experience doesn't hurt either, yet he hasn't become stubborn or egotistical about it. Return business is established when trust is earned. We hope not to bring him back too much (because that would mean our place is falling apart), but now that we've experienced his work we won't bother to contact anyone else. David is our plumber and we're happy to recommend him to our friends!

Honest,Professional,Friendly,Knowledgeable, and Very fairly priced. I just had a chaotic incident with my kitchen plumbing and wasn't sure who to call. I read the positive reviews for David and called him. He was quick to respond, and accommodated me just as soon as he was freed up, which was within the hour.

Our DWP water bills had skyrocketed across two of our office buildings and so we looked for a plumber on Yelp to help investigate, thinking it was possibly a water leak somewhere. The first company we called from Yelp (with high ratings) came out and found a leak in one of our toilets. They only had time to look at one of the offices that day and gave us an estimate for close to $1,500 to fix the one toilet or $2,000 to replace. That seemed outrageous and so we decided to get a second opinion and called Wallace. David came out the next day. He confirmed the one toilet was indeed leaking and actually found a leak in another toilet in our other building. Long story short, he fixed both and only charged us $350 total. He is incredibly knowledgable and professional, and just an all around good person. It was clear we were being hosed by the other company, no pun intended, likely seeing our office spaces and assuming we could afford to be upcharged (unfortunately, not an uncommon practice). In an industry where it's very easy to take advantage of people who don't know any better, David's honesty and integrity were very much appreciated, and that will be rewarded in the future. I would not consider calling anyone else.

What everyone else said. This guy is amazing, and is now on speed dial. I just purchased a place, which had a clogged shower drain. I called David after seeing all the great reviews, and he was just as great as everyone said. Not only did he help fix the drain, but he also took the time to check out the plumbing everywhere else in the place to make sure it was all in good working order before moving in. He caught a few other things, and had some really great advice about other things water could be a potential danger to outside his scope of plumbing. Very thorough. This should be the first guy you contact if you're looking for a plumber.

David is an absolutely AMAZING person and plumber! I first had him come over last summer (2018) to install an insanely complicated under the counter water filter, which he figured out without a problem and gave me some suggestions that made the entire installation cheaper than I had planned. He also made sure I understood the different installation options and their pros and cons.
I then had him come back to fix something and I paid for the subsequent visit using my credit card via PayPal. My bank incorrectly marked my payment as fraud, and David's PayPal account got suspended. To make a long story short it took multiple HOURS of calls with PayPal to fix this and several MONTHS for the money to go back to the right place. David and I were on several calls with PayPal together, during which PayPal was doing nothing to solve the problem, and even in this very irritating situation David was always extremely polite, understanding and problem solving oriented.
I completely trust David to always do a great job and suggest a solution that's best for the customer in terms of price and value. I recently had David come back again to change filter cartridges, and I will be contacting him for all future plumbing needs.

Have hired David on multiple occasions and have always been more than satisfied. He came to my home the very same day I called him even though it was a non-emergency. He showed up to my home with a mask on which I greatly appreciate during these times. I returned the favor by donning my mask as well. David is a true professional and knows his trade so well. He is personable and friendly with a twinkle in his eye. He took care of a leaking toilet in my upstairs bathroom. He diagnosed the problem quickly and was able to properly re-seal the toilet. Apparently my contractors who remodeled my bathroom previously had not properly sealed or bolted the toilet onto the floor, and the wax ring that was used was no good. Dave totally took care of me and charged a fair price. There's a reason I have him as a contact in my phone - he'll get the job done and get it done right. I'd give him 6 stars if I could. We called David to install a line from our sink to an ice maker in our new apartment in Playa Del Rey. He came right over and gave us a free estimate but on top of that went through all the fixtures in our new place to verify everything was working properly. This was a huge relief for myself and my wife after reading so many things about faulty plumbing in these old Playa Del Rey apartment buildings. He alerted me to a few potential issues in the future. David has a wonderful sense of humor, got the job done quick and stuck to his original estimate for the line in the kitchen. Id rather call him than go through my landlord any day. Wallace Plumbing is a fantastic company that's run and owned by Dave Wallace. I had 4 older toilets that had parts that were getting old.  The toilets were running and doing other odd things.  Dave recommended that I change out the flappers, fill valves, and replace the waterlines going from the toilets to the wall. He called it a three for one.  As long as he was already working on the toilets replacing one part he wanted to be EXTRA sure nothing could leak and changed out 2 other parts.  From my experience this is absolutely a wise idea give that 3 of the toilets were on second story and should any part fail it could cause massive water damage between multiple levels. Recommending to also change out a $10 part is brilliant as most plumbers don't take this type of precaution.  He had me email him photos of all of the toilets so he could see exactly what type they were and what parts I needed.   He provided me with an exact list of parts and I picked them up at Home Depot.  Dave then came over an efficiently fixed all four toilets. He did so in a very clean, pleasant and professional manner. He vacuumed up any mess and left the job as clean as when he arrived.  Also, he noticed one of the tanks had the potential to slowly leak so he had us put a small up under this area to check whether it was dry or wet in the next morning. He wanted to be 100% sure nothing was missed which is truly professional and gave me peace of mind.

Dave is a consummate professional.  He is a straight shooter.  I did read some complaints about him being difficult to get estimates from.  He is a one man company.  He does not drive around giving free estimates all day long.  If you have a plumbing problem he is usually hired right off the bat or he requests that customers send a few photos to him through text message so he can see the scope of the issue.   He's very straightforward, honest, efficient, and hardworking! He did 4 other jobs in my neighborhood and all 4 other people were very satisfied and continue to recommend.  There's a reason why this master plumber has about 175 FIVE STAR ratings!

Update on 11/27/2017: David came over today to fix a problem with our gas range. He researched the problem in advance so he was prepared and then he found the problem and fixed it all in 10 minutes, total. He also offered to take a look at a recent repair on my toilet that another plumber had made when David wasn't available, to make sure it was done correctly. Once again, I found him to be smart, reliable, reasonably priced, and very good at figuring things out (and explaining them). I highly recommend him.

I don't write Yelp reviews very often, but I've hired Dave of Wallace Plumbing several times and think he really deserves my taking the time to give a review. Dave is friendly guy and a great plumber. I have called him at least 5 times for three different properties (two houses and a condo). He always responds super promptly, which as you know is very helpful when there's a plumbing emergency! He has fixed drains, leaks, water pressure problems, and even properly re-installed a toilet that had been installed wrong by another plumber. He will point out something that might need work in the future but his philosophy is if it ain't broke, don't fix it and he doesn't try to gouge you by having him fix something now that doesn't need it yet. He's very honest, and will tell you if it's something he doesn't think he can fix because it requires a big crew or equipment he doesn't have. He's very generous with his time and advice: In one instance, we had a water heater that was leaking and the company rep came and diagnosed the problem as something very complicated. I consulted Dave by phone, sent him photos, he consulted with a friend who is an expert in water heaters, and they diagnosed the problem correctly. He did this as a favor, to keep me from going down the rabbit hole with the water heater company. Anyway, I highly recommend him.

Dave was amazing!  We called him last minute to see if he'd be available to be what we thought would be a straightforward job of hooking up water to our fridge.  After analysis it was a much more complicated job since our new home had some not so standard/ jacked plumbing.  Dave was able to make it work and fixed a few other things in the house before he left.  Great guy and super nice.  I will definitely use him from now on!

So here goes, my first review. I suppose with all the other 5 star reviews he doesn't really need mine, but it's nice to start off on a good note. David came and fixed 5 toilets for me today. The bill came to less than what he originally quoted, because he's just an honest guy, and before he saw what the issues were he gave me a safe ballpark.  There's a limit to what stuff he is comfortable working on, but he is very upfront about that in advance. He also happens to be an all around really nice guy. I wish I had called him a year ago

David is solid. When I first found him on Yelp, I couldn't understand how he could have five stars. But after he replaced my water heater, I understand.

From the very first phone call, he was unique among the places I called. Another plumber promised to call back to schedule something; I left a message on the voicemail of another. David answered the call himself. He was pretty busy over the next few days and suggested another plumber might get to it sooner, but then he said, Well, tell me what's going on. Maybe I can point you in the right direction.

He gave me some advice on what to look for in a water heater, and then could do it in the next day or two depending on when I could get the replacement water heater delivered. David even quoted me over the phone. He was up-front with his pricing and I could tell he knew what he was talking about.

I called him a couple of times to ask about water waters--if I should get a different size, if the brand mattered, etc.--and he patiently discussed my options with me each time.

We scheduled the service for today, and he showed up when he said he would. He answered other questions I had about tank vs. tankless water heaters. He did the work in the amount of time he said it would take, and even fixed the top of my water heater enclosure to ensure water doesn't get in.

He did a good job and--more importantly--put my mind at ease from the very beginning. He did solid work and he was patient. You really can't find a better plumber.

I have used David on a number of occasions when replacing kitchen faucets, toilets, declogging sink drains and shower drains. Each time David has been diligent with his craft and a real entertainer to pass the time.

Managing property can be a real pain in the ass in Los Angeles. Some months theres nothing to do. Others, the work won't stop. David has helped me out in a bind many a times with me at the property or not. Doesn't matter, he has my trust.

David Wallace of Wallace Plumbing is a terrific and very experienced plumber. My advise for people looking for trades people, is to try and get the guy that owns the company. He's usually the most experienced guy and has seen and done more jobs. That is the case with David Wallace. He was able to switch out an old rotting and leaking garbage disposal (about 10 years old) and replace it with one we had ordered from Amazon. For all you guys who would try to attempt this yourself, this is not an easy do-it-yourself task. There's much more involved and would of easily taken me hours before I threw in the towel to call a pro. An experience plumber like David can get it done right and pretty quickly. Save yourself alot of headaches, backaches and frustration. David also swapped out a toilet valve that was no longer working efficiently. (filled up too slow) He showed me and explained the issue with the old one. This is an easy part to find and order. While I probably could of replaced it myself, it was again done quickly and professional and without any problems by a pro. He spotted another issue while he was fixing it so we had to shut off the water line to the house. That's definitely something I wouldn't have been able to do on my own. He also swapped out a drain assembly from one of my bathroom sinks. This is also not that easy of a do-it-yourself type of plumbing job. He was able to diagnose and point me to the right part to order by a few cell phone pics I sent him. The parts I ordered came on sunday from amazon and David installed it quickly on Monday.  David is great on the phone on helping give the right advise, so give him a call if you need plumbing help.

Why do things always break on the weekend, when everywhere is closed?!  But thankfully, Wallace Plumbing is open on the weekends, and he doesn't charge you 500% of the normal weekday price either!  Our sinks weren't draining and we wanted it fixed right away.  David was able to squeeze us in, same day, and he arrived at the time he said he would.  Good, honest, plumber.  He cut right to the chase and didn't make up all sorts of phony problems to make more money.  He was very considerate and respectful of my home, wearing booties into the house, and bringing his own buckets to catch yucky sink water (rather than asking to use my buckets).   I would use him again and will recommend him to my friends and neighbors.

David responded quickly to my Yelp request. Even though he was in the middle of the job, he responded to let me know he's available. We spoke later once he was done to arrange details. My rental unit had a clogged sink. He arrived on time and worked around my tenant's schedule. He was extremely polite and did a great job of keeping me informed. My tenants said the same thing. I found Dave here on Yelp (where else?!) when my water bill skyrocketed due to a leaky flapper in my toilet tank. After calling multiple 5-star Yelp plumbers, I immediately liked Dave due to his friendly voice, easy going nature, and reasonable price quotes. He was able to be flexible on timing due to my work situation, planning to meet at my house at the end of his workday.

Unfortunately, our first visit was not a success, and the toilet tank continued to leak. I called Dave again, and he readily sought out the obscure parts needed to fix my obscure toilet. After a second flexibly-timed visit, my toilet is all fixed, and I'm so glad to not be hearing the constant sound of running water (flushing away my money!).

I have to say, for the parts and labor on BOTH visits combined, Dave charged me just a few bucks more than what another 5-star Yelp plumber quoted JUST for his call fee (baseline fee just for coming, plus an extra fee to subsidize the truck he drives). While paying to fix a toilet is not my idea of a fun way to spend money, I feel like Dave is well worth his prices.

I definitely agree with all of the positive reviews here. I'm so glad I called Dave today to come fix my kitchen sink. He called back right away, was prompt, professional, kind, easy to talk with, a genius at how he fixed my sink and most of all honest! I love that! I'll be calling him again, for sure, and using him as my 'go to' plumber in the future.

Regarding the two negative reviews (re: his availability), I don't think a plumber who is busy should receive -feedback just because they are busy booked helping other customers. These people live across town and he's in high demand. Be realistic. I'd never get on Yelp and write a negative review just for a plumber who is too booked. I've had several plumbers I've called, besides Dave, before to come out and fix things. If they live in another part of the city, you do have to wait or they don't have time for a few weeks. That's life. However, Dave was able to tell me whether or not he was available and then came right away. He was great. I have called a lot of plumbers over the years and he's one of the best. He knows what he is doing, is very smart, professional, and I love supporting small businesses like his. Also, these people writing from Studio City or working in Beverly Hills. Where I live we have just as expensive homes as those areas, if not more expensive, on the beach and I would call him back in a heartbeat to fix our place. He's a really great plumber and I highly recommend him to anyone. I look forward to using him again in the future! Cheers!

I have to say that this is the first time I've ever had to call a plumber because I always rent and building maintenance usually takes care of this kind of stuff. However, I have a horrible landlord who wouldn't fix my clogged sink/leak so I came to yelp to find a plumber. We are two girls who feared being taken advantage of so I just went by the reviews and Dave's picture... he looked honest so I went with him.

Thankfully my gut was right. He was so pleasant from the second he walked in the door and diligently worked to fix my problem. He even was nice enough to put a description of the problem in writing in hopes to resolve this issue with my landlord.... and he cleaned up the mess on the floor and under the sink because I'm 7 months pregnant and he didn't want me to have to bend down to clean. Not only great service but a genuinely nice human being as well.

He was here for a few hours and it was way cheaper than I expected. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. Great, honest guy. Thanks Dave!!!

I could go on and on about David and his skills, knowledge, and likability, but I won't only to save everyone the horror of my writing abilities. If you need to read or look up any other plumbers, don't just call David. He is simply the best. My family is extremely happy with the job he did at our house. We found that David doesn't rush, he explores all options, explains them in plain language, and then executes the job correctly. Even better is that he is a very nice human being.

Not that this matters to anyone, but I am a huge customer service guy and felt that I needed to write a post. This will be my second ever post on any sort of social media so even though you don't know me I hope you can appreciate the amount of satisfaction we felt with David and his work.

I found Dave on Yelp. I've used a few different plumbers over the years and I found Dave really reasonable and knowledgeable. He was able to come the same day and took care of two different issues.  He was quick and even cleaned the toilet (and didn't charge me for that lol). He's a really nice guy, honest, great communication and good at what he does. I will def use him again and refer him.

Highly recommend Wallace Plumbing for a quick, clean and effective job. We've had him over to repair a couple things on our rental unit, and he's always quick to respond and very knowledgable. Our garbage disposal had a crack in it, which I was sure was going to cost a fortune for a new install. Then he told me he was busy this week and to call two other plumbers. David is the absolute best. He came in on whim to install our washer/dryer and was so helpful the entire time. David installed everything quickly and efficiently but my biggest surprise came several minutes after he left.

David charged me around $40 in costs for the vent and other equipment that was needed to install the washer/dryer. He called me about 30 mins after he left and told me he needed to meet me again due to the fact he over charged me (he went to Home Depot to replace the equipment he gave me and realized it then. He met with me and returned $15.

The point I want to make with David and Wallace Plumbing is that he IS HONEST. DAVID COULD HAVE kept all the money but he didn't. Will never hesitate to call him again for help.

Old house, old plumbing, like you we have needed a plumber every couple of years to clear our main sewer of all of the fun stuff that has been flushed into the works by our 3 children. Their mom and I have nothing to do with it. We are perfect.

Installing kitchen faucetss isn't always an easy job, and unfortunately I learned the hard way.

Last Thursday I embarked on a handyman project and sprinted out to Loew's to pick up an easy-to-install American Standard faucet for my kitchen. I also picked up a basin wrench and plumbers putty and figured I would be done by the evening.

Boy was I wrong. After an evening of a flooded kitchen and having to reattach the BROKEN faucet UNDERNEATH the sink (don't ask, it still pains me to think about it) I was phoning David for immediate assistance.

David penciled me in the for the following morning and within 30 mins my leaking, broken faucet was gone and the brand-spanking-new American Standard was installed and ready to go. As I manage an income property, he also offered to take a look at all the other faucets and valves outside for leaks, free of charge, even tightening loose valve's no problem.

I figured I was going to save a buck doing the project myself. Well I should have called David in the first place. Quick, efficient & affordable!

Will 100% recommend him to anyone with plumbing problems!

Here's a 5 star review for a plumbing visit that didn't actually happen... and that is because Mr. Wallace very kindly saved me $100 by offering an accurate and simple fix over the phone for my garbage disposal, which I had tried to fix myself unsuccessfully.  I live on the northeast side of Los Angeles and his work area is the southwest - so I was out of his house call district.

He could have simply said I was too far away and politely sent me on my way but he very kindly took the time to offer a quick self-fix suggestion that completely worked.   So my plumbing problem is fixed, I saved the house-call fee, and David Wallace rocks.

Dave is great. He responded quickly to my request, was able to squeeze me into his day, and was gracious regarding a non-working elevator at my building. He fixed both of my problems -- bathroom sink and master bath toilet -- quickly and did spot checks on other wonky plumbing issues in my apartment. Of all the 5 star rating plumbers I called, he was the ONLY one that called me back. My water pressure regulator broke and I was worried waiting one more day, and David came to the rescue! I left David a voice mail early this morning, because last night the fill valve on one of our Toto toilets had stopped working, leaving the toilet running.  He returned my message quickly, listened to the problem I was having with the toilet, requested photographs of the inside of the tank, and made an appointment with me for the afternoon.  Same day appointment!  

David called an hour before our scheduled appointment, asking if it was okay if he could come earlier.  Even better for me.  He fixed the toilet quickly, taking care to keep my home clean and tidy despite the rain.  David is incredibly nice and interested in imparting knowledge I found very useful.  Home maintenance isn't easy for some homeowners, but contractors like David make it a whole lot better.

I would not hesitate to call him again should I have any future plumbing jobs.

My toilet decided to start leaking after I replaced the flushing system. Turns out that it started leaking somewhere completely different by coincidence right after I replaced the system. Seeing as I had guests coming over the next night to stay in our guest bedroom I needed someone to fix the toilet immediately. I called up David and less than 24 hours later on a Saturday he came by and replaced all the nuts and bolts on my toilet, as well as a new flushing system. The cost was very reasonable for a 24 hour appointment and it being Saturday.  He is even accessible by text message. He asked me to text him photos of our toilet to make sure he brought the right tools, nuts, and bolts. He then gave me a couple pointers on how to continue fixing the toilet if needed in the future. I would highly recommend David!

I was installing a new dishwasher and in trying to break loose a hot water fitting wound up twisting the copper pipe. David came within an hour or so, cut out and replaced the ruined copper section, and offered to come back if i ran into problems with the installation (I didn't). I needed Dave's help on an emergency on a weekend (Water all over the first floor -- had a fridge water pipe junction burst), and he was able to show up quickly AND didn't make me agree to a fee to show up or for an emergency. Our  hot water heater malfunctioned and we had no hot water. We called David on Thursday morning after the plumber assigned by our Home Warranty company told us we would have to wait until the next day to get help. David came over the same day, despite his very busy schedule and replaced a thermal coupling on the hot water heater and also solved an issue we've been having for the  past 6 months : no cold water, only warm water would come out of all the faucets(hard for teeth brushing). After following his simple instructions, we now have hot and cold water when we need it. We are very pleased with his service and will call him for all our plumbing needs from now on.

Very rarely I spend time typing on internet to write review on somebody. It's just not me.
This time is different. I have to do it. David really deserve my time to spend writing this review.
When I called, he couldn't come on next day because he was booked. Still I rather wait for him to come couple days after than having somebody I can't trust (you probably also experience guys coming to your house and try to get as much as they can).
Turned out my situation is more complicated that David had to crawl under the house and found out we had broken and jammed pipe because of natural cause.
He managed to get the job done with expertise and high skill of knowledge to fix.
He is just a guy with good heart, professional knowledge, and you will know that he doesn't try to over charge you with unnecessary expenses.

I recently bought my home and needed plumbing work. My mother recommended David of Wallace Plumbing and I've been so pleased. He came to fix 3 of my toilets on Christmas eve, when i knew he was busy but somehow he was able to fit me in. He fixed all 3 toilets excellently in a relative short amount of time. I cannot recommend this man more! Excellent costumer service! David handled very complex plumbing issues with a condo I was renting. The condo had long term plumbing problems prior to my rental. I called David Wallace, a plumber, based on a recommendation from someone on peachhead.  Thank you so much for the recommendation but I will definitely not be using him.  I was upset by the fact that he refused to come to my house and look at everything and give me an estimate.  Instead, he told me to explain my issues over the phone and would give me a quote/estimate that way.  I'm not a plumber but it seems to me to really know what's going on, so that you can give a reliable estimate, one would have to come and look at the problems to make a determination of exactly what/how things need to be fixed based on the specifics of the plumbing in that house. The fact that he wouldn't come over does not sit well with me and so I won't be using him.

When you have a plumbing issue, you need it fixed fast. I left a message and David texted me back within minutes to say he would call me in 10 minutes. And he did. Folks, you should be aware that you're not going to get a cost discount if your job does not fill his whole hour. I had a simple job to properly fasten a drain stop that took less than 15 minutes and I was charged the full hourly rate. That's not the way you keep customers.

Also important to note, he has a way of sneaking in up-charges on items without telling you the cost. He offered to cap some bolts on my toilet to give it a better appearance, but did not tell me that doing so came at a price, nor what the price was.

I give high marks for punctuality, speed of work, friendliness and knowledge. Low marks for overcharging and lack of price clarity.

David is as good as it gets! On two separate occasions showed up on time and did great work. Once installing a new sink fixture and applying new putty around the edges. A second time stopping a leak by removing all the hardware and replacing all the washers etc. On the second visit David also exhibited his handyman skills fixing two gates and a door that wouldn't shut. David is my first call for all my plumbing needs and sometime more.

Dave was easy to talk to and work with. He came to fix a number of kitchen plumbing issues we had and charged a fair rate, and was clear about the breakdown for his services. I had dealt with another highly Yelp rated plumber based in the same area but got a bad feeling about their ethics. With Dave I felt like he was very straightforward and honest with no games, and was totally transparent about what he was doing and charging, and I'm happy with the work: no more leaks. That's all you can ask for! With most plumbers and electricians you call the owner, but the guys who come out to do the work are just paid crew, who may or may not be be as skilled and experienced as the founder. With Dave, you get all Dave.

I found David on Yelp and he came to help me with a problem with my toilet. He was prompt and reasonably-priced. While he was there, I had him look at a handful of other minor plumbing issues (a slow-draining sink, etc.) and he was able to help me with all of them.

I continued to have trouble with the toilet, but David came back and was able to fix it for good. He also took the time to check the other areas he had previously fixed to make sure everything was in good working order.

David is a nice man, he is responsive on the phone and was able to schedule me in quickly, and his prices are on target. I will call him for future plumbing needs!

David is the best!  I started using him years ago because I had several friends who were clients and they raved about him.  He just came to my house on a Sunday morning to fix a broken shower (I couldn't turn the water off).  He cares so much and he is just so nice.  He was very responsive, came out quickly, and fixed our problem.  I can't recommend him enough.  It is rare to find a home repair person who has such an amazing work ethic and who cares so much about customer service.

Its easy to get ripped by tradesmen if you don'y know them. Dave came out, identified the problem quickly, communicated clearly and usefully and fixed it at a reasonable rate. He also negated another problem as being in no need of repair. Easy to work with and trustworthy - what more do you need? Recommended!

After three years of going through plumbers and dealing with one after another that could  not deal with some problems with leaks in our kitchen faucets, we finally found Wallace plumbing. This is guy is great! Works fast, great attitude and a very fair price. He came in,  assessed what need to be done and got right to it.
Very happy with him and glad that we found someone reliable we can count on. And I have to say, he is the first plumber I have ever had with an English accent. That in itself is a novelty :-)

I had David come over on a Saturday morning to change out four of our sink drains which the previous homeowners had left in a totally broken state.  He originally estimated four hours, but finished the task in under half the time, allowing us to also install a new kitchen faucet and still come in well under the original estimate.  Super nice guy and willing to go the extra mile.  Best experience I've had with a plumber to date.  Definitely calling him next time we have any sort of plumbing need.

When you need a plumber, you NEED a plumber. David delivered everything we hoped for. Prompt. Had the parts. Knew the equipment. We had him replace the thing-a-ma-gig in 3 toilets that was causing them all to need us to hold down the handle to flush. Snaked the kitchen sink that was draining slowly. Worked fast and quietly. David is an honest, reliable, and responsive plumber!  We've used him several times.  The most recent was this week.  We had an issue with our water heater, and he came out for three days in a row to tweak things until we resolved the issue. He did not over charge for visits, and he did not take the easy road out which would have been for us to just get a new heater.  He is fantastic!

David did an excellent job fixing our hot water heater.  He answered our panicked phone call at 9pm at night, and arrived promptly the next morning with the appropriate materials and saved the day!  After being told we might be out of hot water for 1-2 weeks by the gas company, it was a huge relief to have David change out the thermal couple in less than an hour and get our hot water running again.  Not only did he fix the heater, he stayed much longer than he originally planned in order to replace a dangerously corroded gas line he discovered.  We took advantage of his kindness and asked him to take a look at our leaky toilet, which he fixed as well.  

We highly recommend David's services and skills.  If we need a plumber again in the future, he's our man!

Where to begin?!  I live in a 14 unit condo building, that has continuous leaks, and plumbing issues, due to deferred maintenance from our HOA board. Over the past 12 years, I have had 60+ plumbers and specialists come to my unit. Most of them could never find and or fix the source of the building leaks. At times, I would have someone give a quick fix, for a hefty price. After many years of frustration,  I found David, on yelp. David is a rarity, and a real gem! He is incredibly knowledgeable, talented, and most of all a superb human being! Anytime, that I have a problem with my condo, I can call him and he will not only make the time for me, but he will also teach me how to assess my various issues.   He is ethical, brilliant, and enjoyable! If there was a way to give him 500 stars, I would! He is definitely, as good, as it gets! Had excellent service from David to fix a tricky hookup of a dishwasher which I thought was going to be easy but my attempts failed- missing a critical part which he fabricated for me. Repair under $100, should have used him up front. Definitely recommend.

Dave was able to come help solve my urgent plumbing issues.  He unclogged my bathtub drain, bathroom sink drain, and fixed my leaking toilet (water leaking from the tank into the toilet bowl).  He was very friendly and professional and knowledgeable about all the plumbing issues I had.  My drains are flowing freely now and the toilet works perfectly.  I can recommend him to anybody for plumbing issues.

This is my second time reviewing David and once again he deserves 5 stars. There was a problem with a water pressure regulator at our home. I called David. He came the next morning - on time, texting me along the way - confirmed my concern that the regulator needed to be replaced and replaced it quickly, neatly and affordably.  I recommend him and his work and will certainly call him again when an issue arises.

David helped me out a few years ago and again this month. I am very pleased with his honesty, straightforward pricing and willingness to help. Years ago when he helped me he explained everything and showed me how to fix the problem myself. This month, he returned my emergency phone call very late at night and spent quite a bit of time trying to diagnose the problem. He ended up referring me to someone who was better equipped to help with my particular problem even though he would earn nothing for his help. Our building needs a lot of plumbing upkeep. We've been through a few plumbers over many years and David is the best. He's honest, personable, PROMPT, and so far he's always been able to come quickly (at least within one day, if not the same day) as when I've called. I also love that he's an efficient worker, telling you only what you need to know - and doing only what needs to be done - and nothing more. He's honest, letting you know upfront what he can and can't do, and has always done the job well the first time. There's no drama with David and his experience speaks for itself.

Needed a plumber on short notice for several problems in a newly purchased older home. We live in a charming old home, which means old plumbing.  Our kitchen sink and disposal were having issues which made it impossible for us to use either one of them.  And, the pipes below the sink were leaking. David came straight away to look at the issue and had the entire problem fixed within two.  He was a pleasure to work with - professional, fast, and cleaned up after himself.  I would definitely recommend David, and will use him again for any plumbing needs that may come up.

This is the second time we've used Wallace Plumbing and both times the service has been exceptional. He was on time and efficient. He was very clear in advance about what he would be able to do and what he couldn't do to remedy the situation I had described to him over the phone. He was upfront about the costs. The exact nature of our plumbing issue this time wasn't clear cut and Dave correctly diagnosed the problem after spending a bit of time working through various possibilities. And when he was done, everything was cleaned up, so we didn't have to. We've had marginal experiences in the past with both large plumbing companies we saw advertised on television, as well as small to medium size plumbing services local to our area. Wallace Plumbing beats them all for reliability, honesty and results.

I found David through Yelp and agree with what all the other 5-star reviewers are saying. David was quick to respond and set me up with an appointment time ASAP. I already knew what the issue was prior to his visit so I was able to text him photos of the parts that I was needing in order to save time. He was prompt to arrive at his stated appointment time and extremely pleasant - I felt very comfortable with him in my home. He worked diligently and cleaned up any mess after he was done. And his prices were extremely reasonable - I did not feel like he was trying to fleece me like other workmen I have encountered. David is my new go-to plumber and I have already passed his information on to others who have also been very satisfied with him.

My 5 yrs old kitchen disposal stopped working a couple weeks ago, causing the the clog in the kitchen sink. I found David Wallace plumbing rated 5 stars here on Yelp, and decided to give  a try. I called the number listed here, explained what happened, and David quickly pointed out that the problem could be quickly solved by just resetting the disposal. He directed me to find the the button and once i clicked it,  problem solved !  Thank you very much! If i ever need plumbing service again, I will definitely go to you guys !

Lovely fellow, fair prices, and excellent work. He was able to quickly and easily fix some loose faucets that my general contractor didnt install properly. It was a tight squeeze but he worked hard to get it right. And showed up exactly at his scheduled time. He will be my go to plumber from here on out.

We called David to come fix our leaky garden hose and oh while you're here another project with the upstairs sink, which turned out to be a major job.  He fixed everything  and the price was reasonable, especially considering how big a job the sink ended up being.  He showed up right on time and was very honest.

David Wallace has made several trips to our 1930's home over the past few years. He has never failed to identify the source of our problem AND identify and implement a workable solution. He is knowledgeable and more than happy to educate, while at the same time working efficiently and neatly. Not only have we been entirely satisfied with his plumbing knowledge and skills, he is super friendly, comfortable with animals and children, and fairly priced. He came out to an apartment building to sort through several plumbing issues in various units, and though he was very nice and seems like an honest guy, his method of billing (hourly) was not efficient for us, in terms of diagnosing and fixing the myriad of issues that arise with a commercial property.  Unfortunately he just wasn't what we needed.

When we moved into our new condo, there was an issue with the hot water pressure in our bathroom sinks and the ice maker in the freezer.  We had called a different plumber at the recommendation of the agent, but the guy scammed us out of 60 bucks and did nothing.  We then found David on Yelp and were glad we did!.  He was very thorough, nice and came at the exact time he promised.  He was professional and did not try to scam or charge more than the job needed.  He diagnosed the problem and fixed it promptly.  We now have perfectly running hot water and the ice is flowing too!  I would use him again for any plumbing issue and recommend him highly!

I want to give a shout out and highly recommend Wallace Plumbing (David Wallace, 310-717-6895). Others here have recommended him, and I called him yesterday morning for a plumbing urgency at my house. He fit me into his schedule, came out a couple of hours later, and cleared the blockage in my shower. He asked if there were any other issues in the house, and I recalled my daughter said her sink was draining slowly, so he cleared that one, too, and offered me practical advice about how to prevent both from recurring in the future. A high-five and high recommendation to David Wallace Plumbing!

I had a small problem for a long time and a new one which was pretty urgent.  A friend recommended a plumber who misdiagnosed my problem and suggested a fix that would cost in the thousands.  I then went to yelp and called David Wallace.  He answered his phone right away, made a appointment for the next day and was on time.  To diagnose the problem he had to crawl under my house which is very difficult because the space is too small: he even had to dig under a beam to reach the source of the problem.  His diagnosis was accurate and much simpler than the previous plumber.  David came back the following day with the proper parts and fixed this problem in no time.  Then, I asked him to look into my other smaller problem that had stomped another plumber.  Again, he found the issue and solved it quickly.  David is very knowledgeable, conscientious and careful.  His prices are reasonable.  I highly recommend him.
