HISTORY

Established in 1924.
In 1924 Mr. John Lilly, a redhead, started offering his plumbing services in the Sunset, Silverlake, and Franklin Hills area. With impeccable workmanship, Mr. Lilly was soon in high demand. He expanded his team creating Red Lilly Plumbing Inc., and in 1954 he was certified as a master plumber with the City of Los Angeles. During all these years, Red Lilly Plumbing has emerged through 3 generations of plumbers and while we have adapted current technology, we will always practice the same values Mr. Lilly set in place. I recently had an issue with my water heating system, and I was fortunate to come across Red Lilly plumbing company. Their plumber, Michael Gomez, was amazing! He was so quick to diagnose the problem and fix it in no time, and he did it all with such care and cleanliness. What's more, he was really informative and helped me understand what was going on.I had checked out some other plumbing companies before going with Red Lilly, but they were all way too expensive. Thankfully, Red Lilly was affordable and reasonable with their pricing, which was such a relief. Another great thing about Red Lilly is that they were able to fix a friend's toilet too, which just goes to show how reliable and consistent their service is. All in all, I would definitely recommend Red Lilly and Michael Gomez to anyone in need of plumbing services. They really exceeded my expectations and made a stressful situation so much easier to deal with.

I've hired Red Lily maybe a dozen times over the years. I had a good experience with them in Eagle Rock so I stuck with them after I moved to Glendale. I am not sure how their coverage works so the timing may be a coincidence but their service now is a nightmare.

I hired them to fix a blocked shower drain. The plumber they sent out was extremely manic and told us a story about how clearing the drain required replacing all of the drain lines on the opposite side of the house. The explanation never really made sense, but I trusted the company and we paid about $4000 for them to do this. The drain clogged again a month later. We requested a different plumber this time, and the fix was much more obvious.

For smaller jobs, they routinely complete half the work and then say they're coming back. They never come back, and they'll start invoicing you for the half they completed.

Excellent service and fast response. Needed to change the very old pipes because it was clogging up. They went underground and restructured the pipes. Added a new pipe that help clean out when clogged. They were fast and done in 2 days.

Timely response and excellent work.  I had 3 flow value replace in my toilets.  All 3 toilets working perfectly.  I noticed one minor issue with one toilet.   The plumber was there the next day to resolve the issue.

I needed to source a new plumber and two of my colleagues recommended Red Lilly after working with them on a few of our other properties. They were able to squeeze us in the same day (all different properties with different issues), did the repairs, and gave reasonable estimates. Rufus was also very kind and pleasant to work with. Our company will definitely continue to use them for any plumbing issues that arise in the future! The person who answers the phone has also always been very pleasant and helpful as well!

I wouldn't recommend this company, and won't be using them in the future.

I requested that they fix/replace a garbage disposal, half-install a bidet, and snake a drain while there. The plumber used pressure tactics to convince me the job had to be done that day or it would be weeks before they could come back out.

On the positive side, the plumber did a good job actually installing the new disposal and replacing some pipes that were corroded. However, when installing the bidet they caused some damage that they never bothered to mention, by ripping the toilet paper holder from the wall (pic attached).

When asked for a breakdown of the charges on the invoice they refused, saying that they only do flat rates. When pressed for it, they said they'd request it from the supervisor but then they never responded.

Based on the cost of parts for what was replaced, and typical hourly rates for plumbing in Los Angeles, it seems they significantly overcharge for their services and provide no transparency.

I had a draining hose under the sink that needs to be repaired. The plumber came on schedule and supposedly fix the problem. he told me that he couldn't tell me how much it costs because he doesn't know how much the company charges. so he just did the work and left. after 2 days you as you can see from the picture he actually left a hole in the pipe and now I have a leakage under the sink. The company encourages people to write reviews. so I'm doing exactly what they're asking...

Just a quick follow up.  I spoke with the company Rep and gave her my credit card number for payment.  I'm not trying to short change them, but I will never use them again.

Mike was great. Showed up same day and diagnosed the issue quickly. Went out, bought the part and had it fixed same day. Was patient with my questions and wore his shoe covers the whole time indoors. Would recommend.

RUFUS! This guy is AMAZING!!!!! I work at an Optometry office and we were having issues with our toilet and Rufus came to check it out in the POURING rain. He was able to solve our issue quickly and efficiently. He was so kind, friendly and knowledgeable. We have used Red Lilly Plumbing in the past and have always appreciated their services. A second job was not necessary for $5000.00+, drilled a whole that I had to hire a handyman to do the patch up.
The 1st job of rerouting was paid by the insurance company due to broken pipe but not the 2nd one, which does not pertain to the problem of the 1st job.
So I am stocked with a bill that they threaten to send me to collections if I don't pay.
Beware of dishonest plumber.

In summary: reliable people, fast service, fair and transparent pricing.

Jose came out within an hour after we called the office, this was amazing, especially considering that we were waiting for the other Plumbing company for 5 days and then they were no-show. Jose was awesome: super pleasant and accommodating, and most importantly he resolved our issue with sewer line very fast. Also he was upfront about the charge and that's exactly the amount that his office billed us (no BS of charging us for commute or other convenience fees like some other plumbing companies do). Very happy and will definitely call them again.

After using another plumber for over 25 years, when he retired, I was rather anxious about using a hew company.  However, my experience with Red Lilly plumbing was excellent.  We needed to have our toilet replaced, and the technician Rauel who took care of us was excellent.  It turned out there was some difficulty with the installation due to the idiosyncrasies of our old home, and Rauel was able to figure out how to get the parts and style of toilet we wanted.  He was professional and skilled and did a wonderful job.  I will definitely keep using Red Lilly for my plumbing needs in the future!

WOW.  Just wow. Amazing company and service. Had a very simple issue, replacing my kitchen sink faucet. However it's over 10 years old so the nut bolting it down under the sink probably calcified, difficult to remove. Had 2 separate plumbers come out before Red Lily, both young guys who didn't even had the right tools (they had good reviews though) and said the only way to remove it was by sawing it off (from top or bottom) and damage the counter. Jose from Red Lily came and within minutes, got the bolt and old faucet off (with some teamwork help from me :)  ). This clearly shows their experience and expertise is beyond a lot of these other companies.

Their professionalism was great as well, from the rep that took the phone call to Jose who came over, everyone was extremely polite and friendly. Jose also gave me great advice about the faucet bought, treating it like it was his own place, advising me that the faucet I bought was too cheap and would leak probably very shortly.

The icing on top is he was very flexible with payment, gave a great deal/didn't  over charge, AND was accommodating in allowing me to try to get a new faucet before he finished the job (would come back to finish the job then instead of charging me 2x).

Overall I have to say they were a headache saver, very satisfied, HIGHLY recommend, and I will definitely be calling them up for additional work. Another big shout out to Jose, can tell he loves working for this company and greatly cares that he as well that his company leaves the customer satisfied and treated well.

We bought a historic century old home that needed some TLC with our pipes and main line to the sewer.  Red Lilly is the dream team of plumbers.  The team came out multiple times to restore our plumbing- finally no more sewage smell!  The entire project was reasonably affordable.

The staff is professional and courteous.  Alex and Romero went above and beyond to give excellent service- special shout out to this dynamic duo for making my day!

I hope to not have any plumbing issues in the future, but if I did, I would hire Red Lilly in a heartbeat.

I love it when people are great at their jobs and they love what they do.
But, the actual review is about the great service.
Although this was just about kitchen drain clearing, there were other questions and things that needed help.
Tony had wonderful and thoughtful suggestions that were practical and sensible.  His work is honest, thorough, and effective.

I was having trouble finding the source of a gas leak in my apartment. I had received a new oven and no one thought to inspect it fully. Rufus found the leak! He was so kind and helped me to understand how his equipment worked, how the appliance was leaking and truly saved the day. His word of advice: Always trust your gut feeling.

I wish they would not try the hydrojet hard sell and just stick to this kind of service instead.

Hard, hard pass on hard sell.

Plumber showed up at 4:30 on a Friday after they were supposed to arrive between 2-4. Suddenly I need. $1275 Hydrojetting job and they told me they wouldn't even snake it. I didn't want to do it today, as I wasn't there to deal with it, I only needed to clear the line and we would deal with the issue later. Most likely knowing that waiting until almost 5 on a Friday would be an emergency call situation over a weekend. Your tricks won't work with me, Westley.

Needless to say, Wesley, Mr. Hard sell, told me the office said he can only do Hydrojetting and left! When I called the office, they suddenly said, oh no, that's not the case that they only Hydrojet.

Funny enough, we did a bunch of repairs since the 13 months that it's been since they have been out to snake. If there was a massive sewer line issue, it wouldn't take 13 months for a single toilet and tub in a 20 unit building to back up.

This is not great. If this guy would have listened to me, he wouldn't have backed himself into a corner lying about services I didn't really need. He wasn't expecting a person who deals with these issues on a daily basis and who restores old buildings professionally. I am disappointed in this company. I am irritated that they tried to make my tenant wait another day to try and sell me a hydrojet job I told them from the minute they got me on the phone that I didn't want.

We've been working with Red Lilly for a few years now. We had an issue recently with a leaking toilet. They came out and fixed it but it started leaking again. I called to have them come check it again. Mike came out and checked it and found another issue which they fixed for no additional charge. I'm sometimes overly skeptical of service providers, but so far, Red Lilly has earned my trust.

Now that we've moved to a new part of Los Angeles we needed a new 5 star plumber.   Spent significant time on Yelp in search of a quality plumber.  I liked the reviews folks wrote for these guys.

Called them a few days ago.  Was VERY easy to make an appointment.  Love that they answered the phone quick, were able to take care of my needs.

Cesar showed up early today.  He came to install a new kitchen faucet.  The faucet supplied by the builder was a disaster as we required one with a longer yet adjustable reach.

Cesar did a solid 5 star installation.  I could not be more pleased.  Price was about what I expected as plumbers in Los Angeles are never cheap.

Beyond pleased I found these guys.  They are now our go to plumber.

My bathroom sink was clogged & broken - Red Lilly sent over Jose to fix it & he was amazing!
He was on time & fixed my sink super quickly. He also shared some tips with me on how to adjust my sink in case I started having issues again.
Hopefully I won't have any further plumbing issues but would definitely appreciate his help again if I needed it.

A shower faucet in a unit suddenly broke.  I needed quick, professional service.  I saw Red Lilly Plumbing and called.  I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly my situation was assessed and a repairman was dispatched (within hours!!)  Raul, the Plumber showed up was mindful of the tenants and did not leave one speck of dirt.  He quickly repaired the faucet/valve, cleaned and caulked and was very courteous.  This company is professional, experienced, clean and quick.  I am extremely satisfied with Red Lilly Plumbing and recommend them highly!!!

I called the company to get a quote to Replace 2 Washing machine supply Valves (valves to turn on hot and cold water, on a wall behind a washing machine). I was asked to text a picture (?) which I did.

I got a call back from their plumber with the estimate of $650!
It literally takes 15 minutes to do this.
I told him that for that money I could buy a new washing machine with free delivery and installation :).

My waiting for follow up is over and the communication to finish the job was excellent. Although I probably could have waited to do such an extensive repair there is comfort in not worry about the what if.
My gardener fixed my ground cover but I didn't feel like passing the bill onto Red Lilly. Sometimes you can accept a little mess.

We are restoring a 1939 apartment building in Los Angeles and we knew the old sewer was on it's way out. It turned into a three part job: installing a clean out at the front of the building and replacing the root filled sewer pipes to the city. Expensive and overwhelming, we called many plumbers, but Red Lilly was the company that really delivered. Charles leads an amazing crew. He brings experience and knowledge to the job and clearly explains what has to happen and the best way to achieve it. Very straight forward information including necessary permits and time lines. They worked in teams of two. Charles and Jose started the process and Jose won me over when he crawled into the crawl space like it was nothing (it's creepy and hard to maneuver). The written communications and estimates from Michelle, Danielle and the office staff were very exact, they explained in detail the work to be done and at the end of the job they helped me with convenient payment. The A Team (Alex and Antonio) showed up first and dug a 12 foot hole for the first clean-out. They made it look easy! Jose and Edwin replaced sewer pipes in the crawl space and the Original A Team (Juan and Rufus) finished the job with a state of the art process that they graciously explained to me. Amazing.     The work ethic of Red Lilly's teams is impressive but the camaraderie and professional attitude of these guys is a huge bonus. They work to make the job site safe. Korea Town has a lot of foot traffic and the teams were courteous and kind to my tenants and any of the neighbors passing by. The job spanned over a month and the open holes were always covered and clearly marked for safety. They did a fantastic job and put our minds to rest, knowing that we were getting the best service available. I highly recommend Red Lilly for your plumbing needs.

We had red Lilly come over and give us a proposal for installing the full house filtration system last week The proposal that I accepted was for $795. They were supposed to come over today and perform the installation.

They first said they will be here 8:00-10-00, then due to rain delays (I can understand it) they were delayed. At around 11::00 Ed stoped by.  He took another look at the project and told me they can't do it for anything less than $1200. A 50% increase in what was proposed and signed. His reasoning was that the initial estimate was for 3/4 inch piping but what should have been estimated was for 1 inch piping.
His argument was that the 1 inch piping and hardware would cost $300. Well 3/4 inch piping and hardware was not going be $0 either and I dont't accept that the difference would be $400.
Mistakes do happen, however we had a signed proposal... they backed off their proposal...
Not a very good way of starting a relationship if you ask me...

My main line was backed up and I had a previous plumber get his snake stuck in my toilet and couldn't fix it... Needless to say, they were able to get my toilet working in no time. It was Friday late afternoon and my drain was clogged... I called every plumber in the yellow pages until I came across Red Lilly. They were responsive and sent Carlos the next day (Saturday). Carlos was extremely knowledgeable and worked tirelessly to clear the blockage which unfortunately required hydro jetting. Carlos returned on the following Monday and alleviated the blockage. He and Red Lilly charged reasonable prices and were reliable. They treated me with respect which was greatly appreciated.

We live in an area that is close to the La Brea Tar Pits--and we have an underground prehistoric river (!) that creates a high water table.  The last rains created huge flooding issues--not only in our backyard but also in our east coast basement!  Charles and his crew at Red Lilly saved us!  Not only did they do an excellent job of analyzing what needed to be done to prevent the disaster from happening again, they were always on time, incredibly competent, and amazingly caring.  Charles even called to check on the basement after our last huge rain.  I cannot begin to convey my gratitude to them for making our home safe again.  And--I cannot praise them enough.  In all ways--analysis of the problem, execution of the remedy, and concern and care --they are unique in all ways and a gift!

He was very friendly and able to determine the issue immediately and give options to resolve just as quickly.  Price was very fair for a last minute response. I recently needed to replace my old water heater that had begun to leak in the basement of my architecturally distinct house. From a number of trusted referrals I was given, the most responsive and impressive by far was Red Lilly. The office women were great, and Mike, a field supervisor, came very swiftly to survey the job. He was very knowledgable and experienced, spoke clearly, and inspired my trust. The pricing was competitive and the materials were of good quality. He and his team got the large, heavy 75-gallon tank up a narrow staircase that had a sharp turn without ruining my hardwood floors. They were respectful and a pleasure to have in my home, total pros. Mike went above and beyond and didn't leave until checking that everything was in good working order. I recommend them without hesitation and look forward to working with them again, the next time I need a plumber.

They were very fast to come out and the tech was awesome. Honestly, I know how to fix water heaters so I know what is fair or not. I could have replaced the control unit and burner assembly myself for around $300. I just didn't want to bother getting parts, etc. They charged $750 to replace the gas control unit which I do find pretty expensive but they did do a good job. The tech did have to drive to Glendale on a holiday to get the part so I guess it was OK. The service is top notch but be aware I think they are a little expensive but I also know it takes money to run a business so this one is a tough call. Good people are not cheap either. Again, the price is a tough call.

I can get a replacement control unit for $150 so the labor totaled $600 which for the replacement time and drive I guess is somewhat reasonable. Excellent company but just be aware they are not the cheapest.

I had an appointment on a Monday for Red Lilly to come out and replace my leaky kitchen faucet with another faucet I had purchased myself ahead of time. They texted me the Saturday before to let me know they could get me on the schedule for that day instead which was great! I had an issue with my garbage disposal, hot water at the house, and low water pressure. As you can imagine, I expected this to cost a lot of money to fix and was dreading having a plumber come out. I called another company first, who did not come when they said they would. I called Red Lilly next and the plumber was able to come earlier than expected. Ozzy is the best! Within 15 minutes he had solved all of my issues and for a very reasonable price! Having dealt with a few plumbers around Los Angeles, I will not hesitate to call Red Lilly for any issue I have.

We bought our house in 2021 and hired every inspector under the sun while we were in escrow. Of course, found a completely broken main sewer line during inspections which led us to call Red Lily plumbing for help. Now- I'll only ever call them!!  Mike has been to my house the most, and he is amazing. Look at the Reviews from the Women, Red Lilly will over-charge you and give worse service, I guess they think we dont know the cost or anything about plumbing (twice as much as Roto Rooter)   I have used them a few times as I try to use local Businesses and this was a great company years ago, but not anymore.  My shower was leaking and they charged $1,400 to fix it.  Then I had some PVC on my Water heater and wanted to change it to Copper, they asked for $1,300.00 ($50 in materials and 1 hour labor).   I also overpaid $1,800 to them for another job supposedly to replace a gas line though we never had to shut off the gas for an $1800 job?... who knows what they did.  
These guys have become beyond riduculous

I called Red Lilly when I had a problem with a leak in my pipes for an apartment building I manage. They seemed professional when I first spoke to them but the guys that came were anything but. They worked on the pipe and didn't even cover it back up with dirt. They left all their trash on the sidewalk and just left. I called them to come back and clean it up but I had already paid and they felt no qualms about ignoring my requests. I will not use them again.

Our sump pump in the basement went out and although we were out of town Red Lilly came over and assessed the situation. We needed a new pump so the supplied an estimate and cost for a new one to be installed on Monday. Guillermo and his partner did an excellent job of installing and cleaning up. It took about an hour and a half.

Jose came out and not only gave me a great price on a regulator replacement, he showed me how other plumbers overquoted for the same job, making up work that wasn't necessary. The plumber arrived on time. I explained the problems with the tub/shower faucet leak. He told me the price and asked if I approved before he went ahead with the repair. Don't trust them. Always get second opinion. They came out on service to troubleshoot no hot water in the building. Gave me $1500 quote with a list of critical repairs on water heater.. Thought it was a bit pricy especially if  the cost of new unit is 2k. Called another company. Tech told me gas switch on water heater line is off.  Turned it in and hot water. Cost of service call. Don't trust red Lilly plumbing get second opinion. Not very ethical. Very disappointed.

I appreciate how quickly the company responds to service requests but I wish their work was more efficient. I paid a plumber about a month ago to come out and unclog my bathroom sink & shower. Plumber let me know it was clogged up, ran the snake and cleaned it out. Less than a month later my shower is clogged up again. Contacted company, they sent someone out and they offered to clean out again but for full price. Then have no warranty or guarantee their services actually work and were going to charge me full price again! I like the customer service but the quality of service is bad. Be careful with company, they have incentive to not properly complete job so then can charge you to come back out less than a month later.

Our entire experience with Red Lilly was great. We had an old 'shower tower' in the bathroom that wasn't working anymore. We chose to replace it to avoid adding new plumbing. We were able to easily schedule the repair with Red Lilly on a timeframe that worked with our HOA. Our plumber was punctual, friendly, and professional. He handily tackeled all of the issues that arose in trying to replace a very outdated panel with the new one which turned out to have defective parts. Knowing the limitations of scheduling with the HOA and that we had guests arriving in a few days, he went above and beyond to get the job done. We will definitely call Red Lilly the next time we have plumbing issues.

Red Lilly Plumbing never showed up for a consultation appointment.  What really irks me is that Giovanni, the owner, asked for my email address, my last name, and whether I owned my condo unit. It was unsettling as I'm female and with all the noise around scammers, fake businesses, etc., they personally  just left a very negative impression. I will never be using them or referring my neighbors or friends. Michelle who answered the phone seemed nice enough but after I called to confirm the appointment the day before as well as they day of, never contacted me again to confirm that Ed was on his way. I wasted my day waiting. Awful.

The plumbing problem I experienced was more complicated than usual because the multilevel building I live in used plumbing parts that were outdated.  Mike was the third plumber I hired to fix the problem.  Mike was able to quickly identify the problem and came up with a solution without drilling a hole on my wall as the two previous plumbers told me.  Mike is willing to try different methods to solve the problem.  He is experienced and professional and I will definitely hire him again.

I don't even know how many plumbers I called, but Red Lilly came to the rescue. I was able to easily make an appt for a quote. Frankie was punctual and friendly. He was thorough and talked me through the process. We ended up using Red Lilly and Frankie was able to fix the issue within a few days (had to order a part).  
He showed me how to remove the pieces in case we needed to make adjustments in the future. Super helpful. Prices were reasonable too.

Red Lilly is one of a hand full of sewer contractors in all of Los Angeles county with the proper license to do under the street sewer line repairs. I learned of Red Lilly from the plumber who attempted to unblock my badly cracked and root bound sewer line a couple of weeks ago. Roto Rooter or similar had opened it up every year for the last 15 years, but it had finally deteriorated to the point where that was not going to work anymore. Surprisingly, Red Lilly gave me an estimate that matched one I got about 10 years ago. It was still $8K - a lot of money - but less than I expected. I gave them the go-ahead and a 10% deposit. The work was done professionally with all the permits etc.; and it was done on time and with minimal disruption. I was able to use the toilet every night of the project. After completing the majority of the work, they ran the camera back under my house and found that the iron pipe going through my foundation was rusted through, leaking and filled with roots. The work under the house cost me another $3.5K, but considering the total man-hours involved and the quality of workmanship, I think I got my money's worth. Plus they gave me a 20 year warranty - I hope this posting helps them stay around to honor that warranty. They seem to be good hard working honest people who deserve to survive

My regular plumbing company for the last 10 years lost a lot of employees on the east side so I searched Yelp and came across Red Lilly. I was impressed by the work they did on the LA Stock Exchange. I hired them to service both my tankless water heaters for both my houses.

They inspected my sewer line per my request because 2 years ago it was inspected when we did construction and I was told by a plumbing co. my contractor hired that I would need to replace the whole line and it would cost around $15k.

Charles was awesome when he explained he could replace a small section and line the rest of the sewer in both directions. And do it for just under $6k

He pulled permits and got the whole thing done in a week. Which was so incredible.

Also the guys who did the tankless service were super nice. I'm a huge gardener and one of the gentleman showed me his cucumbers he was growing in his garden.

The water pressure in my home had been above 120 since I had moved in and the main lacked a water pressure regulator. Had a few places come by for estimates, red Lilly was the cheapest and they had all the tools and parts to do the job with them, the rest of the places I called required scheduling a new appointment. The plumber was in and out in 15 minutes and I got an invoice via email that i was able to pay easily through their online credit card processing system. Definitely recommend.

Mike with Red Lilly. Was so obviously experienced and new exactly what he was doing. He did a fabulous job on a big repiping project with very short notice. He went out of his way to improve our situation and went above and beyond several times. Michelle in the front office was also excellent, accommodating us in many ways and being so nice and friendly about it. It is obvious they care about the service they provide.

Red Lilly is now our permanent plumber. 5 stars is too few!

After flaking at the first appointment, they came to check my toilet and sink installation.
After a few follow up calls they sent me their quote and their contract.
I accepted it and inquired about the permits.
After a substantial number of other follow up calls to plumber, secretary and supervisor, they confirmed they would also take care of the permits.
On the day they were supposed to do the job, they informed me they can't do it because they don't have the proper insurance.

I had a four-compartment sink at my bar that wouldn't drain on a Friday night. You can't really operate a bar without your sinks so it was critical to get it cleared before open on Saturday. My usual plumber wasn't returning my calls so i gave Red Lilly a try. They said they could be there within two hours. They showed up within the stated time, cleared the drains, and I was back in business!

Charles and the guys at Red Lilly are incredible. They responded very quickly and came out to help with an ongoing sewer issue we'd been struggling with. Extraordinarily poor plumbers. Worked as subs at our home to install tankless water heater and to renovate main gas line. Could not seem to leave our home without accidentally turning gas service off completely, leaving us without hot/warm water, the ability to use our stove, etc.. This happened on four occasions. Four.

Most recently Red Lilly showed up to install a log burning valve in our fireplace and - you guessed it - left our home having, a) not finished the job, b) turned off our gas service, and c) disabled our furnace so that even when the gas service was restored, our home was unable to be heated. I wish I could laugh at this near-acrobatic level of failure, but I'm afraid I cannot. Shame on us for not firing them sooner.

UPDATE: Within a half hour of my posting the review above, Ed and his team from Red Lilly were at our house going what was undeniably above and beyond to address all of our concerns. This has been a frustrating restoration involving a number of contractors, but I have to say that this really felt like next level customer service, and the sort of personalized attention to detail that will make me likely to return to Red Lilly in the future. Thank you to Ed and the team for the very solid work today.

I was in such a panic because water was coming nonstop out of both sinks, kitchen and bathroom. I phone six plumbing companies between 4 o'clock and 5 o'clock explaining my emergency and no one was able to assist me until the following morning or afternoon.

I was so fortunate that my tenant remembered red Lilly Plumbing, which was actually up the street in the same neighborhood. I immediately called and Michelle responded immediately to my urgent request for help. She took the situation seriously, which I was very grateful for. Even though they were busy, she manage to get someone to go out and take care of the problem within the half hour.

I am so grateful that they did an excellent job and fairly reasonable and very understanding. I will not hesitate to call them again for any kind of plumbing issues.

The worst irresponsible  service there is. First Giovani gave me a quote, then his worker Frankie came by and replaced the wrong part. Then he said he will be back to fix it and never came back. I called and the owner called me a stupid beach over the phone. They never fixed my water heater and will be suing them for this. I would not recommend this service to my work enemy.

We're had excellent experience with Red Lilly Plumbing. Communication with Daniella and others at the office was very good. Most recently we needed repairs done at two units. They called the tenants and coordinated service calls with them. The plumber took care of the issues with my approval for the work over the the phone. When I've met with Ed and others to inspect and decide on repair work needed, communication was excellent. So...we'd been smelling a weird sewer-y smell in the bathroom for a couple of months that we couldn't identify the source of.  It would come and go seemingly at random, and the 2 local plumbers we called didn't seem too concerned about it. One of them finally came out and said he couldn't find anything, but the next day, the smell came back. So I called another local plumber my neighbor recommended, and despite following up twice with him, he never came by.  We were getting very frustrated. Then it rained really heavily (after months of no rain) and the odor suddenly became HEINOUS.  You know that epoxy resin the City is using to repair the lining of LA's public sewers?  I was only aware of it because the City was working on the sewer lines on my block earlier this year, and the smell was so bad that I asked the worker what it was. (The technology is called Cured in Place Pipe or CIPP, and I honestly can't believe it's legal - blogs.cdc.gov/niosh-scie….) Anyway - after the rain, this toxic chemical smell was now wafting up INTO OUR HOUSE, and giving us headaches and irritated lungs.  I was beside myself. I called Red Lilly since I knew the previous owners of the house had used them to replace the sewer lateral, and they showed up the next morning at 8:30AM. Charles and his associate did a smoke test ($475; took about 20 minutes) by running a non-toxic smoke through the sewer system to detect leaks. As it turned out, the house had MULTIPLE failed drain pipes and vents (in the house sewer drains, not the lateral they had replaced previously). Apparently, there were stretches of galvanized pipes behind the walls that were rusting through and blocked, leaking sewer gas into the walls, and not venting properly through the roof.  It was awful - like finding out you need 5 root canals on the same day.  Fortunately, I already had a general contractor lined up for a different job that day who could take care of replacing the drains and vents, but the smoke test from Red Lilly helped identify the source so that they could make sure all of the leaks were addressed.  (It was an interesting process to observe.) I appreciated Charles' responsiveness and concern for our health.  Hopefully LA's toxic sewer stew didn't take too many years off of our lives before Red Lilly showed up.

I reached out to Red Lilly because I saw their van out on the street servicing a customer on La Tuna Canyon Road. So I had set up an appointment with Red Lilly on securing a quote for a rather large job. All was good until the actual day of the appointment. The plumber, Ed Myers, calls in to say that he'll be late because his car is getting serviced that same morning. Not sure why, but ok, no problem, I tell him. Does he ever show up? NO. Does he ever call back? NO. Do they ever attempt to re-schedule? NO. So I emailed them to follow up and do I get a response? NO.

I'm glad to find out early that this company is at minimal responsive or worse, don't values their customers.  I was rather disappointed since their reviews seem to be positive. Guess it was too good to be true. Or maybe we should have had someone more reliable like Juan, Cesar or Charles come out here based on the reviews below.

The first team was super quick to respond and were able to quickly diagnose the problem as a broken line out to the sewer. They worked out all the details with our landlord and the second team came the next day to replace the pipe and put in a new clean out to make future access easier.  They were quick, efficient, friendly and you'd never know they were there, other than our new clean out access point.  Highly recommended.

Please look elsewhere for a trustworthy company. Cost of coming out to snake a clogged pipe in my kitchen sink was $275. Tried to tell me the clog was impossible to fix without tearing open my wall for an additional $1500. Another plumber came the next day and snaked the drain with no problem at all. Company then threatened to place a lien on my home without emailing me or leaving any voicemails for me. Bad experience and I would recommend you choose another plumbing company who won't try to take advantage.

I've used them 3 times: first for a leak they could not repair, the call out was no charge; second time was a shower leak they fixed; and third time was a toilet replacement that ended up being more complicated than anticipated. They are responsive and their plumbers are very professional. Called dispatcher, who identified the issue, had someone at our house in 45 minutes. This was 2nd vendor, as 1st, big name plumber, sent out someone who obviously knew nothing about the business. Our front yard had a leak at the water meter. The 1st company told me they had to replace all pipe to our house, trench about 40 feet, 6 feet minimum to get to the sidewalk, and it would take several days. Estimate $2,750. But the tech seemed to know nothing, and was relaying what he was told at the office. Why could I not do that? Well, as this was 12/30 we would be looking at having water off for long weekend.

Up comes Red Lilly's Rufus, who quickly figures that odds are he can fix pipe at the source, Quoted $700 to get parts and fix pipe, did that, took about 4 hours, done. Perfect!

Will call 1st next time, AND ask for Rufus.

They came out to my apartment building cuz i had a water leak. Someone hit the hose bib with their car along my driveway. They charge me to repair their minimum price which honestly was as cheap as if i would have taken the time to do it myself. I was across town a didn't want the hassle of picking up parts etc. Anyway they did a A+++++ job. I found this company on yelp and now i keep them on speed dial. Good job folks!! We'd been having a strange smell coming from our main-floor bathroom for months. It would come and go around the same times every day. Sometimes it was musty. Other times it was straight-up methane gas. I described the problem to multiple plumbers and received a range of answers -- from rusted pipes to it was so hot this weekend, a dehydrated rat probably got in the line and died... that's what you're smelling. Charles from Red Lilly was the first plumber to actually put a camera in the pipes and diagnose the problem -- rusted, decomposing cast-iron pipes and lots of root intrusion in the main sewer line.

Charles got his crew to our house THE NEXT DAY! Three days later: new pipes under the house and a clean/lined main sewer line.

We're so thankful for Red Lilly, and we'll be calling them for all our needs in the future.

Our kitchen's double sink was backed up and we tried plunging it to no avail. We called Red Lilly Plumbing and Michelle answered and was very nice and scheduled a same day appointment. Something opened up earlier and she called to check if we can do an earlier time, which worked out perfectly.

Cesar came to help us with our backed up kitchen sink and he was wonderful! Fully masked and had shoe covers; he was very kind, honest, and quick! He was able to resolve the issue and was reassuring. Would definitely use Red Lilly and request Cesar again for any future issues!!!

Had a couple of issues with my bathroom in my loft in Downtown LA and Carlos really helped me out! He diagnosed the problem (different than what the building maintenance had told me) and recommended the solution based on his knowledge of working in other units in my building and other high-rise buildings around downtown LA. The company (Red Lilly) is responsive, sent a technician out within 48 hours of calling them and seemed to be honest for my first time using them. Wow! These guys are fantastic. Carlos and Michelle aware Awww some. Carlos really took the time with us to review and show us where our issues are and what to prioritize. There were no scare tactics used (unlike prior places that we called to come out).   We had to cut concrete, do a re-piping, move pipes and when they were done it looked as if nothing happened. Carlos the technician not only resolved our clogged drain, the reason for the call to Red Lilly, but will also be coming back to fix a different plumbing problem that another plumber was not able to diagnose and formulate a solution in more than twice the amount of time. Okay if you want the best then hire this company with BIG Ed, and Carlos with Daniella on the phones managing every concern and question you may have. First of all, my 89 year young mom had 4 other companies out to her home to take advantage of her and so much work done with probably cost her thousands of dollars. I then called Red Lilly Plumbing which I was referred to by MOEN!!! so Big Ed came out and told me what not to waste our money on and what to do, so I called out a couple of other big companies for their estimates and Big Ed gave us the not only the best deal, but through in some xtra things as well. While Daniella in the office handled all of my issues and the team they sent was not only very professional but reliable and in 3 days did a full re- draining of my moms home, instead of calling out numerous companies to handle these drain problems once and for all.

I was having challenges trying to install new hardware for my kitchen sink.  When I couldn't figure it out, I called Red Lilly who had no problem sending someone on short notice.  Cesar arrived the following day, and was professional, knowledgeable and helpful.  He solved the problem, and had my new hardware working well in no time.  He even took the time to explain what he was doing, and I've had no issues since.  I would call Red Lilly again, and I would ask for Cesar specifically.

I had to hydro-jet my pipe lines after that, i still had a problem called them back and they were absolutely fantastic and very into fixing my problem, charles came the second time and like a samurai he got some tools and fixed my problem, he and all he's team are so nice to work with ! I don't ever do yelp reviews unless they surpass the 5 stars and this guys did it ! Also the customer service from Daniela was terrific im recommending this team for everybody! They know what they doing and they are doing it great !

Juan came by to help me install a handheld bidet on one of my toilets, which I thought would be simple but grew beyond my capability when the valve at the bottom of the toilet was frozen stuck. He came by and had the bidet installed in no time. During the process though, he discovered that in my attempts to install the bidet I had messed with the fill valve in a way that was causing it not to work properly. Juan fixed this quickly and adjusted everything back to working order in no time, and fixed my errors for no additional charge!

We had Red Lilly Plumbing help us earlier this year & had such a good experience we called on them again yesterday afternoon when we noticed a significant water pressure change and that our water wasn't heating up.

Earlier this morning, Charles came out to help to diagnose the problem. Like our last technician, he was very knowledgeable, friendly and gave us good news that it turned out to be a simpler fix than we were hoping. I scheduled an appointment. Astrid called on the day of and apologetically notified me they had an emergency & needed to reschedule. No problem. Didn't hear from them regarding the rescheduled appointment. Called them 20 minutes after their expected arrival. I was informed they were stuck & could come by 4pm or reschedule again. I agreed to 4pm. Very respectful guy name Juan showed up w/a helper to check out the task & informed me they would be back the next morning, the owner needed to get the parts. 8 hours later than the agreed time, still no call regarding the rescheduled  appointment. Clearly Red Lilly is not reliable, nor respectful of my time. Astrid was very thorough over the phone. She had the workers call me, which they did before they came by to check.

Hiring a plumber is hard especially during the end of the week, but Red Lilly Plumbing made it so easy. I worked with Michelle to schedule an appointment for a plumber to come in and fix an issue we had with our sink.

I live in a condo so everything has to be approved by the housing association manager and Michelle was so speedy with her communication and was able to work with me based on my schedule. Honestly, she made the whole process so easy when I was very stressed out. The plumber was also great to work with. He was very kind and quickly identified the issue.

I would highly recommend Red Lilly Plumbing and plan on using them for the future if we have any issues (fingers crossed we don't, but you never know).

Ceasars was early. Both for his visit to do the estimate and for his scheduled day to do the work. When working he was quiet. He got done quickly and the most importantly he put everything back the way it was supposed to be leaving it clean and ready to use. He explanation was clear and concise, and his prices reasonable. If I could give Red Lilly 10 stars I would.  Bought a new house and the plumbing basically exploded.  Charles came that day and gave us a temporary solution, then came back and fixed everything. Not only did Charles get his guys out to handle everything quickly, he was so kind and supportive. It was like my uncle was handling the problem. And as new things popped up he would get them taken care of without adding any additional cost. Xharkes also called multiple time while work was happening and since it has been finished to check in and see that everything was good. I seriously would never ever use any other plumbing company again for the rest of my life.  Charles and his guys are the best!!!!

We contacted Red Lilly Plumbing because of a water leak coming from our water heater. They sent out Carlos to give us an estimate on repair, he was above and beyond amazing! He came on time and communicated his status just before arrival. He was very informative  and knowledgeable about the situation. He took his time and efficiently examined the water heater for the problem and any other hidden issues. Very polite and honest gentleman! He also went above and beyond to check our water pressure to the unit and advised us that we need to get that fixed and advised us of the problems it was causing. It's always something of a crap shoot finding a good plumber. I dread looking. The plumber I had used in the past had me on hold and then never called back. I picked Red Lilly on Yelp because their reviews were decent and I liked the name! Well, the company lived up to the name and I was pleasantly surprised given my previous experiences. First of all, they answered the phone when I called. When I said it was something of an emergency, they up an appointment for the next business day. They called to confirm the day of and checked with me to come earlier. Yes!  Their plumber, Wesley, was awesome. He replaced a garbage disposal and got my sink operating again. Super fast, super reliable, honest and reasonably priced. Big thumbs up.

Recently our toilets and shower was backing up and flooding the house. I contacted Red Lilly. Charles was nice enough to come to my house within few days and with use of his camera he properly diagnosed the sewer problem and provide us with a written estimate/contract. Charles sent a crew of specialist and over 2 days, they dug and removed clay piping and replaced it with 4 ABS. Basically they rehabilitated the existing sewer line. They backfilled the excavated area and patched the concrete. Overall the job was done right, without hassle and professionally. I am very happy that I hired Red Lilly Plumbing. I am a first-time home buyer and am getting my new place in order. Pablo from Red Lilly was friendly and remarkably efficient -- he replaced ageing drain pipes in both my bathroom and kitchen, replaced a dying garbage disposal, and replaced a noisy fill valve in the toilet, all in under an hour. What was really refreshing to me is that he didn't try to up-sell me on anything and gave me a model of garbage disposal that was appropriate to my household's needs. I would highly recommend choosing Red Lilly Plumbing for any of your plumbing needs!

I posted and ad on Yelp with pictures and a description of my problem and Red Lilly Plumbing  responded promptly! They immediately gave me an assessment of the time needed and costs.

We scheduled an appointment for the next day. Carlos arrived on time the next morning, quickly explained the different options for fixing our plumbing issue, the steps involved, parts needed, how much they would cost, etc.

Carlos was very quick and professional, and made me aware of all the costs that would be required for the job. Carlos was also extremely transparent and clear, making the process easy!

Everything was finished the same day and I would definitely use Red Lilly Plumbing's service again.

We had a broken pipe underneath the house that needed immediate attention.  I called Red Lilly.  The person I spoke on the phone was really nice.  Their employee,  Cesar, showed up in 30 minutes.  He crawled underneath the house and described the problem, the cost to fix and the time it was going to take.  We were worried about damage to the floors, and Cesar assured us that we didn't have a major problem, just really old pipes that needed to be replaced. Our pipes were 90 years old. I don't think I've met a happier guy who was crawling underneath a house.   He also recommended that we change another section of the plumbing because it was also old and it wouldn't make sense to replace one section and not the other.  When we saw the old pipes after he cut them up and put them on the lawn, well, if that was your arteries you would be dead.  The part that wasn't giving us issues, but Cesar suggested replacing, was completely clogged.

Red Lilly is a good company, and Cesar is a great employee.

My kitchen sink wouldn't drain and I tried all the usual fixes myself before contacting Red Lilly. They scheduled an appointment for early the next morning (I wrote around 3:30 pm, got a response in 20 minutes), very prompt and communicative.

Cesar arrived at 8 am with a good vibes mask and coverings for his shoes. He was extremely kind about our whining (also masked) kids and loud dog! In Covid it can be stressful having strangers in your house. I felt lucky to have someone as gentle, thoughtful, and professional as Cesar take care of our very clogged sink pipes. It's working perfectly now, and my son was able to start his 9 am zoom in peace, while I started on the dishes.

I contacted Red Lilly Plumbing for a sewer repair on a hillside home in Northeast Los Angeles.  Had to repair a 4-inch sewer chimney (12 feet deep on hill side) and a 6-inch sewer lateral (6 feet deep at street level). Charles matched (and beat) another competitor's bid and we were in business.  Manny, Perez, and Castro were very friendly and knowledgeable, and did a fantastic job.  Halfway through the project it became clear that the 1923 sewer line was not connected to the main city sewer at the place where we all had expected it to be. This unforeseen challenge led to difficult negotiations during which I wished Charles had been a little more proactive with reaching out; and able to spend more than one minute on the phone during each of our phone calls.  But, I understand he was busy with multiple projects and was doing his best.  Giovanni ended up taking over the project and completed it swiftly once the crew was back.  A difficult project for all of us, but it eventually got completed, with excellent craftsmanship, and within 3% of the initial budget despite unexpected underground discoveries(!).  Would definitely do business with them again.

Recently did a bathroom remodel including installing a new vanity. Couldn't get the pipes in the vanity to stop leaking after repeated tries and the toilet wasn't refilling after flushing so I looked for a highly reviewed plumbing business to come fix it. Red Lilly sent Cesar the next morning to handle it. They gave us a courtesy call about 10 minutes before Cesar arrived which was appreciated. He was friendly, informative, and quick. Agent tried to rip me off. I called these guys because I noticed a very high water bill and suspected a leak somewhere. I left them a message and a rep called me the next morning to set up an appointment. She told me it was between 12pm-2pm. I got a text confirmation saying it's between 10am-12pm and the guy showed up actually at 9:40am while my tenant was taking her kids to school not expecting them til 12.

After an inspection, he called me telling me vague things like the pipes are not done professionally and the toilet might have a problem but not sure. Quoted me $600 to replace the toilet and $2100 to redo the pipes. All just to fix a leak. I said no way and called another company. They literally did it for less than $100. The price was so different that I had the other guys work double checked and it was confirmed. No toilet needed replacing or pipes redone. How the hell do you go from $3000 to $100 to fix my issue???

If nothing else, I would recommend price shopping before hiring these guys. I've never left a bad review in my life but this deserved it.

The tech came out and fixed my water heater quickly and gave me a very fair price. We had a pretty big leak on the bottom floor of our home from a break in the drain. Rufus came out to assess the whole thing and did a fantastic job. He was masked up properly and I had no anxiety about social distancing. He explained everything wonderfully and showed me where the broken drain was through the scope.

It was going to be kind of a big job since they had to dig down to get to the broken drain. Rufus explained that we could break concrete or just dig through the flower beds, which he recommended since it would be the cheaper route. He managed everything perfectly and made sure we could go back to our normal lives as soon as possible. Giovanni came out to make sure everything was in order too, which was nice to have multiple eyes on this project.

Manny and Perez came out to fix everything. They did an amazing job and were so quick about it. They were very respectful of the roses we had and made sure to make our garden look similar to before. I was impressed at how fast and efficient they were! They made sure to add in a release so there won't be a drainage back up into the house again.

Overall, Rufus, Giovanni, Manny, and Perez were a wonderful team. I couldn't have asked for a better group to fix our drain problem! Thank you guys so much!!

I didn't realize how much I needed Red Lilly but I'm so happy I found them! Our house was built in 1948 and we've lived here since 2001. About 6 months ago, we began having repeated problems with the sewer backing up (not a pretty sight or smell).  Our regular plumber would come out and snake the line but a few weeks later it would happen again. I decided I needed someone who specializes in sewers, and found Red Lilly on Yelp.

They started by opening the line that my plumber had snaked and quickly realized that it was not the source of the problem. They used a camera to trace the entire line down to the municipal connection and we all watched as the images of tree roots, broken pipes, etc. flickered across the screen.  It turns out that the sewer line included original ceramic piping, and nature had won the battle. It was a major project to replace that segment of the line but Red Lilly came through quickly and efficiently, at a fair price. Highly recommended!

After booking an inspection, they called me 3 times throughout the next day to try and reschedule me.  ...Other people have lives and obligations, and need to take time off work etc. to be available...

The plumber arrived and probably would have done a fine job.  He asked me to correspond directly with him, not his office after the inspection.  So I did.

We booked a time to do the work, and 2 days later, I'd taken more time off work to be available, and his company called to tell me they had to reschedule and the plumber wasn't coming.

Would not recommend to anyone for any reason.  Find someone else.

I am one of those fools who can't understand the concept of what a garbage disposal is capable of. Anyway, major clog that also involved our washing machine. We had Red Lilly come to do some major sewer work for us. We initially went with them because they did our home inspection and gave us two different approaches to clear out roots that were blocking access to the main sewer line. One was a more invasive process and the other was using a new technology (and was significantly cheaper).

Manny and Perez came to do the work for us and were super transparent through every step of the process. They let me know when they needed to dig, when the water would turn off, when they needed to leave to go get parts, and more. Super professional and very efficient!

I would def come back to Red Lilly for future plumbing issues (fingers crossed that won't be a thing).

Had my gas turned off due to a leak and needed it repaired quickly in order to reconnect. Requested quotes from a bunch of companies on yelp in the evening- 1/2 didn't respond and the other half told me to call their office the next day. Red Lilly responded right away and scheduled someone to come give an estimate the next morning.
Dave is the master plumber who showed up. He was professional,  courteous. and quickly assessed the situation.  Although he couldn't fix it that day he schedules me for 1p the next day, and assured me he would let me know of he was able to come earlier.  Sure enough he reached out the next morning and came by 9a and had everything fixed within 45 min.
I would definitely recommend Dave and Red Lilly.

AWESOME SERVICE, GREAT COMMUNICATION, THEY KNOW THERE PLUMBING.
Long story short we had a back up problem we called another company we felt it was more of a numbers game with them ( car sales person vibe) He left after paying a small fee for him to use a small skinny snake we noticed we had the same problem when he left. So we called Red Lilly Plumbing we shared our bad experience with the other company. So they sent someone right away and solved the issue. Made an appointment to pass the camera they found an issue that may need attention in the future. No pushing or scare tactics. So we will be calling them again in the future.

Well, we woke up at 8:30 am to find a leak in our house. It is now 12:40 pm and it's been repaired. Access to the area that was leaking is very unfavorable and we've had people walk away, Spectrum, to avoid going under there. Cesar is a dedicated worker willing to accept what needs to be done. Our toilet backed up on a Saturday morning. It was a mess.  Our previous plumber had an outgoing message that they no longer do after hours service.  Found Red Lilly via Google.  Called at 9:30 am and was told they could probably be out by noon.  They arrived at 10:30 am and the clog was cleared in 10 minutes.  All Covid safe.  We are very happy campers in my house!

Both the rental property, and Mom/Nana's house needed urgent plumbing repairs - which happen to be within the same month.

We live in a large and old apartment building in DTLA where even shutting the water off is a tricky matter. Wesley from Red Lilly Plumbing got the call in short notice, on a Friday afternoon, and yet handled a stressful situation with calming composure. He made sure the building's water was adequately shut off before replacing an angle-stopper that was frozen open and installing a new faucet. While the company could have probably handled the scheduling better, Wesley turned it around and brought a great attitude and great results.

EMPLOYEES ARE SHADY AF!  Went with RLP because of their reviews on Yelp. 2 technicians were dispatched to fix a clogged shower. When they arrived outside, one technician was getting their tools from the truck while the other started wandering around the house and let himself into the backyard, without even knocking on the front door to let me know they were here. My gut instantly went on alert. One technician went straight to the bathroom, while I found the other one wandering around in the living room and kitchen. I showed him where the bathroom was and he kept wandering off saying he needed to know where the pipes are around the house. Shouldn't that be outside and not in the living room or bedrooms? He then proceeded to ask a bunch of inappropriate and personal questions. The technician in the bathroom seemed to be doing all the work while Mr. Wanderer dilly dallied around, making personal calls on his cell phone. A bunch of gunk came out from the tub and said they would have to come back out with the hydro jet and camera. They didn't bother to wash out the tub or the mess they left on the bathroom floor. While the technician was moving their equipment back out to the truck, Mr. Wanderer said he can have his friend come out and fix the clog at half the price what RLP would charge. I said I'll wait to see the outcome since they already started working. He seemed miffed and they left. I started getting blocked numbers that night and continued to get them for a good week at all hours. Did he take my information and give it to his friend? Wouldn't doubt it. RLP never returned my calls or followed up with me for a good 2 weeks. They finally dispatched 2 different technicians that were supposed to come out between 12-3 and didn't show up til almost 5. Never called beforehand to let me know they were on their way, didn't apologize for being late, went to the bathroom for 5 minutes and said they didn't have the tools to work on the tub and they would have to have someone else come out. WTF!?  My gut was on alert the very first time and continued to be on alert every appointment. I will NEVER EVER use RLP and HIGHLY recommend single ladies, older adults and anyone that lives alone to use another company.

Had a plumbing issue where the toilet kept getting backed up. Called Red Lilly Plumbing and they ran a high-tech camera down the pipe and pinpointed the problem right away.

They gave me a few different options to pick from and ultimately agreed on a plan. I was in direct communication with Charles. He was great to work with. Communicated with me through every step and called me with updates. Their work was very clean and thorough.

Our project consisted of digging up the ground, repositioning a sewer pipe to be at the right downward slope, re-cement the trench and re-tile. This was done during the COVID-19 pandemic, so all the workers were respectful and practiced health guidelines (masks, gloves, the whole 9-yards).

Call them with all your plumbing needs with confidence. I will definitely be calling them if any problems arise.

We reached out to Red Lilly two weeks ago regarding a backup in our pipes which was causing problems with our clean out. Charles arrived within the hour and quickly diagnosed our problem as a greater issue with our pipes (that no other plumber we've had thus far was able to identify). It turned out that our old pipes had shattered and the job would require much more work. Throughout the process, Charles and the Red Lilly team were super communicative and provided an affordable solution to our piping. They got all the permits necessary and promptly dug out the sidewalks to replace the pipes. All members of the team were friendly and helpful and would definitely recommend them for any job. They really do it all and lucky to have found these guys on the onset of a plumbing emergency!

The plumbing at my house has been a mess since we moved in. The other plumber my husband kept on insisting on hiring before was more expensive, kept saying there wasn't a problem when there was, and didn't fix it. I'm now rid of the husband and his plumber and found Red Lilly Plumbing and what a difference. I needed to replace my 100 year old main 4'' sewer line on my home and they had a competitive quote and were referred by a family member. They got the trenchless pipe burst done with a brand new pipe and took care of all the permit info with the city.

They also were able to replace some of the 6'' line while they were down there and then put a liner through the rest of the pipe so it's like a have a brand new sewer the whole way! They took care of all the permit info on this as well as re-compacting the dirt and pouring new concrete over where they had dug up a little 3x2ft patch of concrete.

Easy to work with, knowledgeable and really helped educate me on everything during the whole process. Charles, Michelle, Rufus and all the other team members were professional and great to work with from start to finish.

Kitchen and bathroom sinks started backing up out of the blue around 3:30 pm. Called landlord and she said she would try to get someone over ASAP. She called 20 minutes later and said the best she could do was 9am next day , mind you I'm watching my bathroom sink begin to spill onto floor with diaper scented water as she said this. She asked me if i had a friend or knew of any plumbing company i could send her info on. Living near Beverly and Union i was no stranger to the Red Lily fleet of work trucks when I'm on my way to work early morning. I sent her the contact information at 4:55pm and she called me back 3 minutes later saying someone would be there within 30 minutes.  23 minutes later Carlos was at my door. Rufus arrived in between in the time frame scheduled to clear my kitchen sink line. As best practice he used the snake three times, even though it was cleared on the first pass. He was kind enough to answer all my questions. He also was careful in laying a mat on the floor while he worked and cleaned up after leaving. Red Lilly's cost for the work was very reasonable. Our hot water suddenly stopped working on a Thursday afternoon and Red Lilly Plumbing was so helpful! I called right before they closed for the day and they sent someone out early the next morning. The tech they sent Cesar was very helpful and very safe (wore gloves and a mask) he was also very nice. I had a problem and needed a new toilet, called these guys up. They were all amazing and fantastic.

These guys are awesome. I have had problems with a sewer smell in a bathroom. They came, opened up the sewer vent, performed the smoke test, and immediately located the problem and fixed it within just an hour or so. They were kind, courteous, professional, and absolutely determined to find the problem and fix it swiftly. And they were reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend them to anyone with drainage issues at their home. These guys are GREAT!

We have relied on Red Lilly for a couple of years now. Particularly Cesar has come out to deal with various issues from broken pipes to a broken water heather to broken sprinklers. Cesar is the best in the business...he crawled under our scary house for multiple hours completely redu-ing our pipes to perfection. He knows what he's doing and is very friendly and professional. Cesar was fantastic. A very knowledgable plumber who got the job done right. Our bathroom sink was backed up with no sign of unclogging. I tried everything on it to get the clog out with no luck. Cesar was quick and effective. He got under the house, cut and replaced only the section that was backed up, and showed me the old pipe and years of build-up that caused the clog. Wow!! Finally found a great Plumbing Company with an even greater technician.

Our main sewer line was clogged with roots and so we needed someone with the Rooter machine. Was recommended Red Lilly via the Next Door App and made an appt for the next day.

Cesar arrived and we are so thankful. Not only did we discover that the main line needed to be cleared but also that the guest bedroom toilet line was completely clogged - and I mean bad!!!

Cesar was awesome!!! He diagnosed the problem, drew a sketch of how all the pipes intersected and then got to work. And he worked really really hard. It was a super tough job and he used every trick in the plumbers book to FINALLY clear the roots and the water is now running fast and clean again.

We totally appreciated his expertise and don't give up spirit. Hard to find these days.

We recommend Red Lilly Plumbing but be sure to ask for Cesar!!!

We had a leak from an upstairs bathtub drain leaking into our downstairs hallway. I went back and forth with my other plumber for over a week to find a time and a price to get the job done. When they finally sent me the estimate I knew I had to get others to compare.  I called Red Lilly and the next day Rufus came out, took a look at the job and gave me an estimate for less than half of the other plumber and within an hour or 2 he had the job done.  Rufus was extremely courteous and professional and quietly got the job done. Highly recommend and will be sticking with Red Lilly for any future plumbing issues.

I called red lilly to inquire about natural gas flow to my stove and water heater.  They sent a technician who was here within 30 minutes. (Juan).  He examined all the issues, checked all the connections, and determined there was an issue with the flow valve.  He returned back to the meter and realized it had automatically shut off. He turned it back on and it was fixed.  In all of my experiences, and i had another quote, from clearly a dishonest company, i paid a service call fee and it was fixed.  These people are honest.  They are professional, knowledgable and I will use them anytime I need repairs.  Start to finish a great experience with great people.  Thank you!

Here's a letter of complaint I sent them:

Hello, I am writing to register a complaint about your company. I called to have my furnace looked at on Wednesday the 21st of December and on the 22nd a technician came and discovered that I needed a new thermostat, he told me he would return the following Tuesday, the 27th. No technician came that day, nor did anyone call me to inform me he would not be coming.

I called the next day to find out when he would be coming and was told that a different company would be coming to replace my thermostat on Thursday the 29th, I told the person on the phone that I could not be there that day. Someone from the other company then called me I believe it was Wednesday the 28th, and as I was eating lunch at the time, I asked her to call me back in 20 minutes. No one ever called me back. Finally, on Tuesday, the 3rd of December, I called your company again and asked to speak to a supervisor and I spoke to Giovanni, who, as I expressed my frustration at being made to wait almost two weeks for the job he started to be completed, proceeded to speak over me, apparently not listening at all to what I was saying. At that point my frustration peaked and I said I would call someone else to finish the job he started.

A few minutes later I got a message from my landlady saying that they were going to come and finish the job on Thursday the 5th of January (today), I was not told a time. This morning a woman, Jill, from the second company called to confirm my appointment, and when I said Did we have an appointment? No one ever gave me a time she began to speak to me as though this comment annoyed her and she became very short with me, apparently not registering that it has now been two weeks since this job was begun and has been left uncompleted, and I was told that she does not work in the complaints department, that she handles the scheduling of appointments.

So that is why I am now writing this email, so that this complaint might reach the appropriate department. As a customer it is very difficult to understand why it takes so long to complete a job that should have taken less than an hour. It is also very difficult to understand why there are two companies involved in doing this very simple job and harder still to understand why neither Giovanni or Jill have enough customer service training to say to a frustrated customer I understand your frustration and we are going to do everything we can to get this fixed as soon as possible.

I hope I do not require your services again soon. This has been an extremely frustrating experience and I would not recommend to anyone to call you for plumbing services. Thank you.

I am so happy to have found Red Lilly plumbing. We have an old house and one of our toilets began acting up right before Covid. We had TWO other  company plumbers come and try to fix it with no avail. They could not locate the issue and simply told us to not the use the toilet. Red Lilly just finished a huge job for us, involving work in our house, the driveway, and the street.  They did a fantastic job.  Charles and Rufus explained everything and ran their camera down with us looking so we could see for ourselves.  Rufus supervised the work (and did a lot of it himself), and they had a great crew, who were nice and knew what they were doing.  They cleaned up the site every day so that the street and our driveway were totally accessible.  They accommodated other workmen on the street who were working near us. Red Lilly has been professional and wonderful. I needed to replace a dishwasher, fix a water valve under the kitchen sink and possibly replace a kitchen faucet at my rental unit. I asked Red Lilly for a quote, which they were able to provide in writing detailing the work to be done. Michelle handled all the communications with me via email and phone and was professional and courteous. She called an hour before the plumbing team showed up to give me a heads up, which was welcomed by my tenants. They performed the job in a timely manner and was very nice and professional, and even reduced the original quote since the valve and faucet didn't need to be replaced. Very impressed with the service and technician! Our kitchen sink backed up and was leaking under the sink too, I turned to Next Door to look up recommendations and saw that a couple neighbors recommended Red Lilly. I had a sudden unexpectant plumbing gyser type outside leak last night at around 7:00 p.m. which required me to turn off the water in the house.

I did not want to pay emergency plumbing rates so I called what used to be my go to plumbing company.  They told me they would be at my house between 9 and 11 a.m.  They never showed up and never received a call.

I called Red Lilly Plumbing

Michelle scheduled a time, texted me confirmation of the appointment and even called me to tell me how far the plumber was so I would know when he would be arriving.

Cesar showed up on time, was courteous and professional.  He fixed the problem and now the water in my house is back on.

Red Lilly Plumbing is now my go-to plumbing company.

Carlos from Red Lilly is the BEST.
We have been without a regular plumber for years, and we had a semi-emergency. Our hot water heater broke less than 24 hours before we were to have out of town company for 3  days, and on a Friday no less.
We were not optimistic that we would find a plumber that was not only available but had the stock to fix or replace our hot water heater - same day.  We called Red Lilly as they had good reviews here on Yelp.
Carlos showed up late morning, and not only did he replace the water heater - same day, but he went completely above and beyond addressing other issues which contributed to the water heater breaking down, and staying past 6 PM on a Friday to make sure it was working in time for our company.
A weekend of cold showers averted.  
He was also so personable, professional, honest and trustworthy.
We have found our regular plumbers.
And the fact that they are local and family owned is such a huge bonus.

Red Lilly Plumbing really knows their stuff! Whether it is a large or small job. Gio is not only experienced, but also knowledgeable on regular plumbing maintenance and repairs, but also knows how to maneuver with the city for required inspections and permits. They also have the right licensing to work on larger projects, like city sewer work. Another great thing about Gio is that he is willing to just be helpful to answer any questions you might have, no matter how simple you think it is.

I have used Red Lilly on this old house through the years - from fixing leaks to replacing pipes and they have never disappointed. Feels like a small company with personal service, talented no nonsense plumbers competitive pricing and willing to work with. I would note they don't really clean up after themselves but I don't mind that so much because I'd be doing it again anyway and they're not cleaning on my dime like some other companies. I'd much rather have good work by good guys. Hire some female plumbers and maybe get 5 stars  update: Charlie was our most recent plumber from Red Lilly and got us taken care of  - thank you!!

I hired Red Lilly for some plumbing work after a brief chat with Dave, one of their plumbers.  After first speaking to and getting price quotes from some other plumbers who seemed to not enjoy their work, Dave was quite the contrast.  On the phone he sounded cheerful and, dare I say, fun?  His price was quite competitive, so I thought, why keep looking?

I later learned that Dave has done many big, high-end plumbing projects but I just needed him to snake a clogged sink and to put new parts into a toilet tank that took forever to fill up with water.  

He worked fast and very competently -- he knows his stuff -- and he was careful to no let any of the porcelain in the sink get a single scratch.  

Also, he was quite cheerful, and we had a great conversation while he was working, talking both about plumbing and other things.  It's nice to hang around someone like Dave who is both great at his job and who simply enjoys being alive.  

My recommendation is quit looking for a plumber and just hire this guy.  The company (Red Lilly Plumbing) has other plumbers who I haven't met.  But I would vouch for Dave so I'd say ask for him specifically.

I called red lilly plumbing becuase my water heater wasnt heating up my water. I called made an appointment they came out same day and at the time that was quoted. Technician dave came out and explained to me why it wasnt working. Quoted me a reasonably priced new water heater and he installed it the same day. Tech was very polite and patient with me in explaining what I was paying for. He left the area where he was working clean and was out within a couple of hours. I would definitely recommend red Lilly plumbing. Great job guys.

We had a huge underground leak under our slab that was driving up our water bill so we contacted a few highly rated plumbers to give us estimates. The supervisor took the time to explain every part of the process of his proposed plan to partially repipe our home. Although he didn't give us the lowest quote, we went with him because he was knowledgable and thorough.

He told us the project would take 2 days. However, once the project started, the supervisor sometimes didn't even show up and the plumbers who did show up would sometimes only show up for half a day or not at all. What was an estimated 2 day project became a 2.5 week ordeal with a lot of guess-work about when and if plumbers would come to work. To be fair, I really appreciated the work that Marvin and Tony, the two plumbers who worked with us the most, put into the project. While the supervisor was trying to fix our bathroom sink that had diminished water flow after the repipe, he accidentally broke the faucet. We asked that Red Lilly cover the cost of the broken faucet since an employee of the company was responsible for its damage. I spoke with the owner, Giovanni, and he said he would stop by and take a look at the faucet himself that afternoon to see what could be done but he never showed up. Giovanni said he would not cover the cost because the supervisor's miscalculation of the project timeline had already cost the company so much money.

Two days ago, the supervisor came to work on our project and then left our home without saying goodbye, without communicating a status update, and without telling us whether or not he would return the next day. I texted him asking him to let us know when he was leaving our home so we could lock and safely secure our house but he didn't respond. Yesterday morning he did not show up so I called Red Lilly HQ to ask if he was going to come back to work today. The secretary informed me that the supervisor has closed the books on our project without informing us of the project's conclusion. It's understandable that projects take longer than expected. We never rushed Red Lilly on their timeline. But the level of unprofessional behavior that the supervisor and the owner, Giovanni, have demonstrated toward the end of the project is not acceptable. I've never left a bad review before but I don't want this to happen to anyone else.

***UPDATE***
Hours after I posted my review, I received a call from Giovanni who said that he wanted to make things right by replacing the faucet free of charge. He came to my house within an hour and said he'd take care of it in two days. He said he'd send me pictures of faucets and I could decide which one I would like installed, but he never sent the pictures. After one day, his office called and left a voicemail saying he wanted to send someone to take care of it today. However, I was at work and couldn't get home in time. He sent one of his employees to my house anyway without confirming whether I was home. Luckily, someone was at the house and able to let his employee in to replace the faucet. I am grateful that Giovanni was reasonable in fixing this for us. He clearly wants his business to do well and have a good reputation. And while the quality of the work is good, the inadequate professional communication at the top tiers of command caps my rating at 4 stars.

I have to say that I was very impressed with their customer service.  The operator was kind and transferred me over to the plumber on site, Giovanni.  He was so knowledgeable and gave me a lot of information about installing a sub meter, which will be a lot less expensive that what we were looking into.  HE WAS GREAT!!!  I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who is looking into doing plumbing work!

I rarely write reviews but Red Lilly Plumbing is just too good. The dispatcher was prompt, courteous and helpful in the extreme. She responded to my online request almost immediately and after I decided to use Red Lilly, she had a plumber at my place within 30 minutes. The plumber, Cesar, was fantastic; also prompt, polite, knowledgeable, expert at his work and fast. And to top it all off, the price was much lower than the other estimate I obtained and was very reasonable. It's very rare to obtain this level of satisfaction for this kind of work.

Just had my first experience with Red Lilly.  I had picked up a business card at a trade show but beyond that knew nothing about them.  Today, Giovanni came out to inspect a sewer line on a laundromat I'm considering buying.  I've never had this done before though and I am a total newbie.  Giovanni took the time to educate me on everything I was seeing.  He was excellent at explaining why certain things would need fixing and suggested the best course of action.  He wasn't pushy, just helpful and cheerful.  Only toward the very end did I discover he was the owner!  It's so refreshing to see a small business that is thriving.  The reason?  Great HONEST service, showed up on time, treated me with respect, educated me, and best of all, did it for a VERY sweet price.  THANKS GIOVANNI!  GO RED LILLY!

On 20 June, I booked an appointment for an consultation inspection for copper repipe service at my house in West Covina on 10 July at 9am. I called on 10 July at 8:20am to confirm an inspector was being sent and was instructed by the phone receptionist that she would call me back in 10 min. No phone call was received, so I called back on 9:24 and was told that they don't service my area. Unprofessional. Needs to improve their scheduling. Don't recommend.

We're having some trouble with our 100 yr old house's sewer line. It was suggested to us that we have the entire line sleeved.

We just had Giovanni out to take a look.  He sent the camera down to inspect, then looked up the property plans on the LA City website, and came back with some questions as to whether or not our line joined up with another house's, and whether or not we have a legal easement.

He's going to the Dept. of Public Works on Monday to pull the plans for our property and really suss out what the situation is before giving us a quote.

We've had other companies come who didn't even bother to send a camera down and quoted us $$$$ to sleeve the entire line.

Giovanni has gone above and beyond the call so far - I'm very impressed with both his diligence and business ethics.

If we end up using Red Lilly for the actual work I will revise this review to reflect that as well.

Red lily has been coming to my job for some years now. We are a high volume dog grooming facility and we need regular maintenance on all our tubs and plumbing needs. Had a plumber change out the bathtub figures and they had to go into the wall and change the valve.  Luckily the valve was reachable without having to tear down tile.

The plumber was fast, efficient, knowledgeable and gave me a blow-by-blow account of everything he was doing as he was doing it.

Not sure why there are so many bad reviews, but the person that I got didn't rob me and did the work right and did it well.  I was thoroughly educated because of his information as he worked on changing the faucets out.

Good Job Red Lilly.

AND, because I gave him a review on the spot (the office required it), he gave me a 10% discount for any of my plumbing needs next time.

I recently opened my new business (photo studio and event space) and had a very very VIP client and their team conducting a photo shoot in my new space when .... the only toilet stopped working (and was overflowing)!!  I was in a panic and turned to the internet to find an emergency solution.  After calling a couple of places and getting nowhere, I contacted Red Lilly (got through to Michelle) and she not only sympathized with my situation but she sent Charles to assess the problem.  He was very fast (arrived within 90 mins), very professional (got in and out without much detection from the photo shoot team), and he was able to temporarily fix the problem to get me through the day and came back early the next morning early to help complete the work (before yet another client arrived). I have never been happier with the customer service from the Red Lilly team.  I am making them my go-to call for any future plumbing issues.  They made a rough situation into a stress-free result and I am forever grateful!

I called this morning hoping to get a quick fix for a clogged toilet. The woman who answered the phone was considerate and was able to get me an appointment within 2 hours. Red Lilly Plumbing is great! The dispatcher, who understood our problem quickly and was very sympathetic, got the plumber out to us immediately. Cesar arrived in half an hour. He was very polite and friendly, but worked quickly and efficiently. After he cleared the blockage, he explained clearly how calcium blockage builds up over time in the toilet. I told him about another problem that we continually have with our sink, and he showed me some maintenance I could do myself. He cleaned up the area thoroughly and thanked me for my business. Cesar is an incredible worker, and his service was perfect! I really cannot imagine a better plumbing experience. This is the third time we have used Red Lilly, and even though they are not the closest plumber to us, I cannot imagine using anybody else.

Red Lilly has been great to work with over the past four years. They are friendly and I find them to be trustworthy. We first learned about Red Lilly from our Real Estate Agent when we were purchasing the house and had to have an inspection of the plumbing in 2015. They told us that the plumbing was ok, but that down the line it would need some work and they gave us an estimate. Fast forward four years and they were right! This past week they fixed our sewer line. We're fortunate that our home insurance (i.e. Mercury) covers the main line. Charles has been great to work with. He has ensured that videos and detailed information is being gathered for the insurance company. Did I mention that Charles honored the estimate from the 2015 inspection?!! They are amazing and I highly recommend them. We've used them to replace the main water line in 2016, replace our water heater with a tankless water heater 2019, and to fix the sewer line in 2019. These are big jobs. Two of those required interacting with Mercury Insurance.

DWP switched out their meter & right after that our water heater went on the blink. After calling them back out & having them tell me our new water heater was faulty & that we needed to change out some piping which cost  us $620.00 then telling us that it was the water heater gas control valve, Paul saved the day.  He diagnosed the problem & immediately (which was DWP's new meter restricting flow)  Pro's all the way. Red Lilly gets my repeat business for sure.

I needed Red Lilly plumbers to come back to make sure a leak under the kitchen sink was not gonna be a future problem after Harry and Rufus came to help me remedy the issue the first time.

This time Rufus came by himself. He did the right way to cutoff an inch of the old shaved portion of the copper water line and fitted the compression valve very snugged and tight as the valve is designed to do.
Rufus also made sure the other valve was in good shape while he waited to make sure the installed valve was LEAK FREE.

I am grateful for his patient, methodical approach to doing it the right way and stayed to make sure it was done right. He said he always aim to do it right the first time so no anxiety in anyone's mind.

Red Lilly- you got a good plumber in Rufus.

Needed a last minute house call for some run of the mill drainage issues and gave Red Lilly a call. Pleasant customer service experience for the booking, and they were able to fit us in the next day. Our technician, Cesar, was extremely courteous, professional, and prompt (he actually arrived in advance of our allotted window), and was careful to walk me through the options for addressing our plumbing issues so I 6 could make an informed choice. He fixed both a clogged drain and toilet, walked me through some work that will need to be done in the near future, and was in and out within an hour. I will definitely be calling on Cesar when we are ready to move on to next steps!

Why do our plumbing emergencies always seem to happen on weekends?  For whatever reason, they do.  It is such a relief to be able to contact an actual person at 9pm on a Friday night and explain that we have a massive clog which is about to totally derail our weekend, and then to have a plumber show up the next morning at 9am to take care of it.  Rufus arrived ready to take care of the situation and was extremely pleasant to deal with.  So grateful for Red Lilly and their ability to respond to emergencies so promptly.

Was recommended to me by my neighbor who uses their services for various properties he owns and I couldn't be happier. I called because the gas co shut off our gas due to a leaking house line and Giovanni, Paul, and their team came out the next day.  Not only did they arrive at the scheduled time but were fast, efficient, and communicative during the entire process.  It definitely was not a straightforward issue and, still, these guys busted their asses solving the many problems our house was experiencing AND gave me a very reasonable, competitive price for the job.
Gas co came back, detected no leak, and we have gas again!  Thank goodness for Red Lilly and their awesome team or we would be sitting here still with no hot water or stove.  I highly recommend them to anyone in need of competent plumbing service.

My dishwasher was backing into my garbage disposal causing the sink to overflow and the dishwasher to leak water from the bottom. I called Red Lilly, and they promptly sent out Cesar to help. Red Lilly is great!  We had a blocked kitchen sink.... called them and talked to Katrina, a very gracious lady... and she sent us Rufus in 1&1/2 hours.. Rufus was excellent, efficient, skilled, got the job done.. and
was copasetic with our 4 rather noisy dogs.... and all is taken care of in
the course of a couple of hours.  Will call them next time, and will ask for
Rufus again..

A line in our bathroom backed up just before tenants moved in so I headed to Yelp to find someone to snake it. Red Lilly had good reviews and based on my experience they are well-deserved. They were able to give me an estimate on the phone (which was in line with other estimates I had gotten), to schedule a visit very promptly and got the line cleared with no problems. Where they went above and beyond was when Charlie thought he felt a crack in the line while running the snake. He crawled under the house to make sure he hadn't damaged anything (something that very few plumbers have been willing to do) and pointed out some potential issues and gave me a quote in case I want to address them in the future. From start to finish Red Lilly was thorough, efficient and professional.

This was such an unpleasant experience. I am still in shock. The man who came to my house, who claimed to be the owner, was the rudest person I have encountered in a long time. They previously worked on pipes in my house, did an incomplete job, and when they came back to fix the issues, they continued to be the least thorough. I'm still having issues with my sewer lines, and they were still unable to fix the problems. They overcharge, show up late, and are unprofessional. Save yourself a headache. Hire someone else.

Carlos from Red Lilly came out because we had a running toilet and low water pressure.  He fixed the toilet quickly then meticulously investigated the issue with our water pressure putting together a game plan, clearly explaining the issues and potential fixes giving us plenty of time to consider our options.  I feel very confident in his service and the company.  They sincerely want to help and provide quality service.

I just read through all the Red LIlly reviews and noticed several people have the EXACT SAME STORY AS ME.

They quote you one thing, they get half way through the job, and tell you they need more money because a family member made a mistake. That's their scheme. That's how they scam you. And when you decline and tell them you don't want them to finish the work, they get REALLY angry.

I would never recommend anyone use these guys.

In 2011 I had a water heater break for a bungalow I rent out.  I needed it fixed that day and so I called Red Lilly.   I've been wanting to upgrade to a tankless on all of my units, but that takes a few days to install and I needed one that day.  The guy told me he could install a tank today and charge me for it, but then put in a tankless a week later and deduct the price I already paid from the total bill.  It sounded like a great deal so I agreed.  Later that day the owner called me and told me that they guy (his son) made a mistake when he told me he could deduct the money I already paid.  The owner wanted to make it up to me by sending a guy out to snake the pipes for free if I ever needed it.   That was understandable and a nice offer.

8 months later, the pilot light goes out three times in a week, so I call Red Lilly to take a look at it and see what's going on since it's under warranty.  A guy comes out and says that he basically flushed the pipes (not his terminology), but there is a problem that voids the warranty if I don't fix it.  I need to spend $600 or so to put a water pressure regulator on the tank.  I ask him why his company didn't mention that when they put it in, but of course he doesn't have an answer.  

I passed on his service even though he kept on warning me about the void warranty.  The warranty was going to end in a few months anyways, so I didn't care.  

The pilot light has not gone out since.

I still do not know how to evaluate this company after these two experiences, but when dealing with a leaky faucet I decided not to give them a call, because there appears something is wrong with the culture of the company.  From my experiences and the other reviews, the owner seems nice, but doesn't have control over his employees.

MY HEROES. I was moving out of my house in Los Feliz to a new house in Santa Monica & getting ready to put the old house on the market. My realtor advised me to get rid of my old refrigerator with a built in icemaker. I didn't know that you need to turn off the water supply to the house first. Doh! The movers were done loading the truck and I needed to follow them to the new house. But there I was with a geyser in my kitchen. While calling my home warranty company to try to arrange an emergency dispatch, my 6 year old's summer camp called to say she was sick and crying. The home warranty company was all, we'll try to have a plumber call you in 4 hours. Not good enough! I needed to leave with the movers, my mom needed to go pick up my daughter from camp, and the only one who would be at the house would be my housekeeper, who only speaks Spanish. I called RED LILLY. Not only did they send someone within 90 minutes, but he was TRILINGUAL (fluent in English, Spanish, & Portuguese). Carlos fixed the problem quickly and for a VERY reasonable price. SO grateful to him, and to Michelle, who dispatched him with a quickness!

I'll second everything that devil d. wrote... except that my place in Echo Park was built in 1910. That's means our sewer line is 100 years old this year! Whoo hoo! The line was in dire need of replacement and Red Lilly handled the job quickly, efficiently and professionally.

The team working on my property was headed up by Peter - he and all the guys working with him were great to deal with. I did shop around and compare prices before finding Red Lilly. Peter by far offered the best price, and in addition to the basic work that needed to be done - replacement of the main sewer line - Peter offered to repair / replace some ancillary pipes and valves, as well as snake all drains in our multi-unit property in order to gain my business. He won the bid and I would definitely recommend and use Red Lilly again. Also, payment was a snap - they take credit card.

I found them on Yelp and after calling a few places, they were the first available and the least expensive.  I called to get my kitchen sink snaked.  They did it for $49 as apposed to the  $65 - $85 quotes I received.  Plus they came within 30 minutes!  The other plumbers I called couldn't make it until late afternoon or the following day.

The person on the phone was very nice as well as the plumber.

Bottom line they were great, easy, affordable and quick!!

Our garbage disposal got backed up the day before we were hosting Thanksgiving, and Red Lilly was the only company in the area that was available to help. Giovanni and Edwin showed up on time, they were personable and professional, and fixed the problem in very little time for $145 total. The best for sewage work!

We called Red Lilly in on an emergency regarding our sewer line.  This was an older house, and the problem we had kept scaling up due to deeper problems being discovered.  All along the way they kept us in the loop on what they were doing, why it was necessary, and how much it would cost.  They even showed us the damage with a snake camera, and were very patient with explaining their methods.  Giovanni, the company's owner, is a boisterous and friendly fellow and was very willing to negotiate pricing and billing to fit our budget.

Now, these other reviews are rather harsh, and probably unfair and/or written by egotistical yupsters, but I noticed that they are mostly for small stuff like replacing dishwashers or sprinkler heads.  Maybe they're true, maybe not, but trust me, THESE GUYS KNOW THEIR STUFF when it comes to sewers, and were certainly more honest than the other companies we got estimates from.

Red Lilly Plumbing, especially Charles, is very very competence, customer-oriented, and offers fair prices.  I hire this company to redo the plumbings of my entire 1950s home on the hill side: water main replacement, copper repiping, sewer line repair, basement laundry setup, and new tankless water heater.  This company uses top of the line materials such as type L copper pipes and high-end tankless water heater.  Charles is very knowledgable and applies the latest technology to replace my old sewer line under the foundation slab with minimal excavation to the house.  He re-routes the main water line to the house creatively without damaging the front house concrete and avoiding the need of the water pump.  His desire to do the right things for his plumbing job shows!  It also helps that his communication is excellent.  He listens to our concerns and feedbacks, and either educates us or makes necessary changes.  Not only he does a great job, his bid is very competitive.  I shopped around quite a bit before committing to them. Over all, we recommend strongly this company, especially Charles, to own your next major home plumbing make-over.  They have the skills and the tools to do it correctly and offer an impressive warranty.

Dave was awesome! Helpful, communicative & investigative.. they had to do some digging to find a new handle for an apparently rare shower handle. We had to do the work over a couple of visits due to ordering of parts and Dave and also the receptionist Katelyn (can't remember for sure..?) were always great about following up and calling to arrange the best times. Dave also did a great job changing out a valve on the gas line. He did everything we needed taken care of and was also very patient and sweet with my 1 year old crawling around him and trying to see everything he was doing. Super nice guy. I am not satisfied with the cost of installing a water heater, it was $350 more expensive than another plumber with the same W/H  three weeks earlier. The plumbers also installed a very short gas flex line that should have been longer, instead installed a shut off valve and short nipple to make up the difference. Which means, two shut of valves 4 in apart on the same line? Is this to code? Giovanni was there to explain it was ok according to him. I had an appointment with him the previous Friday, he never showed up, did not call me that he could not make it.Not professional. We had him over to explain the differences, he was argumentative, bad mouthing the other plumber, etc. I would be stretched to call the company for more work again and not recommend his services to anyone.
Also the company sent an invoice that was NOT the correct W/H installed at the duplex. After working with the font office they corrected the bill to reflect the correct W/H and in discussions with Giovanni, they refunded $$ for the revised billings. All in all somewhat a good ending.

Red Lilly = WORST PLUMBERS EVER

I hired this company to update a fully functional existing sprinkler system. They promised to add all of the sprinkler heads and soaker hoses I wanted but wouldn't write specific numbers on the invoice. They told me the job would be completed within four days. They took FOUR WEEKS to finish, and only because I threatened to cancel my order and hire another plumber to finish the job. The plumber installed a different drip system than I had requested and shown him a sample of, then he yelled at me and called me a liar when I asked him to install the material I had requested.

The owner begged me to give them another (not second, not third) chance to finish the project. He sent an angry plumber to my house after-hours on a Friday night. The guy laid pvc pipe ABOVE GROUND in my garden, added hardware to the ends and called this a completed sprinkler addition. When I informed the owner that this was unacceptable work, he yelled at me over the phone, hung up and told his secretary to tell me he wasn't there when I called back.

The job was never fully completed and my wood deck and existing system were damaged during the process. The owner destroyed my original invoice then gave me a new one that did not include our original agreement. I literally paid these plumbers to leave my house so that I could hire a professional to do the job correctly.

I am glad that Red Lily has replied to my post of 2/21/13. I think their rude reply proves my point. To clarify:

1. It was an employee of Red Lily who approached ME to do the work faster and cheaper on this own. There is nothing unethical in me hiring a private party -- this was not my idea and I don't think you should blame the victims for the actions of your employees.

2. I am a real person living in L.A., not an employee fired for steeling.

3. CalOSHA appeared on my doorstep just a few hours after the Red Lily employee told me I had an unsafe worksite (the hole was not properly shored up). This could be a coincidence but I think not, and I think Giovanni has no way of knowing .

4. The Red Lily rep WAS rude and the bid WAS way out of line -- my regular plumber completed the job for about half what Red Lily proposed.

Again use Red Lily AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I was extremely disappointed in their service.  Not being a plumber...maybe their work will stand the test of time but the experience of working with them was less than stellar.  I asked them to take over a job from another plumber who seemed to be in over his head with the sewer issues I had.  They assured me they knew what they were doing, quoted me a price and subsequently raised the fee almost daily.  It started at $2500 and ended at almost $15,000.  They charged my credit card before work was complete and I had to call repeatedly for them to finish.  A month after they were done the sewer started to leak into a neighbors yard and they were back and the problems continued.  

I am now looking for another plumber to check the sewer again because the toilet is backing up into the shower.  I can't go back to Red Lilly.  Maybe the new plumber can tell what REALLY went wrong!

All I can say is BEWARE.

Shockingly high rates for decent workmanship but only adequate materials. For example, charged $1080 to replace a kitchen garbage disposal... and that was AFTER a discount. The plumber claimed it was an especially tricky job due to the age of the building and that he'd be forced to replace the surrounding drain pipes as well. He replaced the chromed brass drain pipes with what appear to be basic plastic ones. One would expect to find silver- or even gold-plated ones for that price.  

That said, he was meticulous, even scrubbing my kitchen floor when he finished.

They charged me over $175 for plumbing fixtures. This so called fixture was about 1/3rd the size of a chapstick. They charged me labor because the plumber couldn't find the right parts and spent all day driving around...on my tab apparently.

I had a major emergency break in the piping under my house and under my sidewalk going out to the street. This was a house built in 1924 and the old piping needed a complete overhaul. There was major wear and tear and root intrusion that another company hydro-jetted a few times and warned me would eventually need this kind of overhaul. My property managers did some research and Red Lilly came up as the best in the neighborhood. They came by and completely fixed it within a week of the pipes giving out. I found Harry to be especially thoughtful in explaining every steps of the process with me. It was a big job and it was pretty expensive so I needed to be clear about what the job entailed and why. Harry was great with me. Even in my need for photos and certain documentation for filing an insurance claim on it, Harry was extremely attentive and helpful. I'd definitely recommend Red Lilly Plumbing.

Me as a consumer I used Red Lilly Plumbing a few months ago to do a large job for me. Yes I did see the reviews but I went based on recommendations from neighbors and family members who have used there service and was I ever pleased. I have been a resident of Los Angeles my whole life and have seen there ads all over the place so I was happy to have a local company come and perform the job. Giovanni the owner was professional, patient and explained the entire project to me from start to finish. I knew the house I moved into needed some plumbing work. The previous owner was the king of Jerry-rigging! I'm surprised he didn't use duct tape to hold all his quick fixes together. Anyway there were a whole lot of pipes that needed replacing and since my hubby is by no means a handy man we decided to look for professionals. Enter red lilly. They were very prompt and finished the work in a timely manner. Overall I was very pleased. If only they could have fixed our shoddy electrical too!

I'm actually surprised to see so many negative reviews.  I used Red Lilly Plumbing recently.  I shopped around got a few quotes and Red Lilly was the one that was most reasonable and also allowed for a payment plan.  Its the first time that I needed a major plumbing service and really didn't know what to expect.  I can say that the service was prompt and neat...  and so far 2 months later I haven't had any problems.  The service tech that came out also seemed to be pretty knowledgeable as he was able to address all my concerns and questions.  I can say that if I ever need plumbing service again, I'll be calling Red Lilly again.  I really cant say anything negative about them.  The only reason I'm not giving the full 5 stars is because as I mentioned before... this is the first time I required major plumbing service where I had to deal with a Plumbing Company.

Our 55-year old sewer line was clogged with roots.  Giovanni and his crew did an excellent job replacing the clay pipe with modern seamless plastic pipe including a fiberglass liner in the 6 line under the street out to the city main.  

The work was done in a timely manner with modern equipment which minimized trenching.  When the sewer was completed they did an outstanding job replacing my flagstone walkway and patching the concrete driveway where the holes were dug.  Their price seemed fair. The crew was professional and friendly.  

I would recommend Red Lilly to my friends and neighbors.

Giovanni and his guys did a fantastic job repairing our mainline. I had noticed that our retaining wall leading to the street was wet, and called to find out what the problem was. Red Lilly was accommodating of my schedule, and quick to come out and investigate the problem, and give me options for the solution, without pressuring me. It turned out that roots had encroached on our mainline, causing it to leak, and the entire line had to be cleaned out (this required two access points to be installed, one of which was nine feet down behind the retaining wall, as it is a long and winding way to the street) and an 8-foot section of pipe lined. Giovanni gave me a competitive price, and he and his team kept me informed and reassured throughout the process. Had it fixed by the end of the week, glad I used Red Lilly! I think the negative reviews may be from when the company was under different management, because I have nothing but good things to say about them.

My first Yelp review & it's a bad one. Two employees from Red Lilly came to fix a leak. Not only was the job not done properly but my jewelry was missing after they left! (I always keep it in the same place & I noticed it was gone a few minutes after they left.) It was not expensive but still put a $500 hole in my pocket to replace. My manager notified Red Lilly but they did nothing. The only reason I didn't file a police report is because the plumbers looked shady & I was afraid of retaliation. If you are going to risk hiring these people please lock up anything of value, even if it doesn't look expensive. Apparently you need to stand over some people & make sure they don't take anything. Ugh.

We found Red Lilly on Yelp, misleading bad reviews from years ago because it is under new management and is EXCELLENT!  Giovanni was extremely professional, came and gave us a reasonable quote on replacing corroded pipes and were more reasonable than two other companies we canvassed.  The plumbers were professional and very friendly and they all did a great job.

It was a big job that required excavation of soil and moving a big AC and everything was done so well.  Giovanni even came back and re did some pavers that were not our down evenly.  That attention to detail and wanting to keep his customers happy is much appreciated.

i would totally recommend Red Lilly.

RIPOFF!!  I was quoted $125/hr to have a toilet installed. It ended up costing me $425.  They had to trim a piece of marble and it took about 2 hours total. I asked why the $425 and the plumber said they normally don't trim marble. WHAT? It's PART OF THE JOB!! $125/hr is $125 an HOUR!! I don't car what they have to do!! I called the management later and they said they would give me a partial refund. That was over a month ago.  Never received the refund. SCAMMERS!! I will never use them again.  STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS!

The work done on our property may have been fine, but the way they handled the billing process afterwards was completely unprofessional, disorganized and rude. They threatened to place a mechanic's lien on the house to pressure me for collection on the bill before they had ever sent an invoice. Do not deal with this company unless you like rude, unorganized business people.

Do not, I repeat, do not use these plumbers. I'm not sure if they were trying to rip me off, or if they just completely have no idea what they are doing. Call someone else, anyone else, or you will regret it. They tried and failed to clear my clogged pipe, performed services I didn't need and performed them incorrectly. Every diagnosis was based on speculation and every solution was not even guaranteed to fix the problem. Incompetence or robbery? Tough to say. All I know is Roto Rooter cleared my pipe in less then ten minutes and then used a camera to show me what was wrong. I'm not telling you to use Roto Rooter, just don't use Red Lilly. They spent hours upon hours attempting to clear a clogged pipe. So simple yet they failed.

He charged me extra because he had to come the same day I called and it was an emergency since my sink was leaking all over the floor. To snake a drain he charged me $135. For one hour of work he charged me $235. I mean lawyers don't even make that much. Ridiculous.

I've been using Red Lilly for 15 years and my only problem with them is that their prices are a bit high.  Because of that, I once tried another plumber who came highly recommended and he screwed up the job, so I went back to Red Lilly and have been satisfied ever since.  The office people are friendly and competent and the plumbers are prompt, efficient, and capable.  I own two old houses and the Red Lilly guys seem to be adept at dealing with their vagaries.

I can't say enough good things about these guys. We had a severe and particularly difficult  sewer line problem - on  a downhill slope, 100 year old line, gigantic city tree sitting directly on the line - three other reputable plumbing companies told us nothing further could be done until the tree was removed. Last year we paid a partial payment of $3000. to a different plumber and in a week we had more problems.  Red Lilly assessed the situation, came up with creative solutions at every new and unexpected development and were reassuring, pleasant and efficient throughout the process.  State of the art solutions.  They also made sure everything in the house was working properly before they left as another writer mentions.  
Cost was very reasonable (this was a large amount of work - over 10K) - and it easily could've ballooned upwards. They promised me they would find a way and they didn't let us down. I'd give them 10 stars if it were allowed. Carlos was our foreman, their whole team from the owner to every different type of worker were great. Oh, and did I mention they cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards? My neighbor had their sewer line replaced after seeing them do mine....

I needed to replace my old water heater so I called these guys.  I only called them since I've seen their trucks a couple times but they did a great job, in my opinion.  They came out the very same day I called and were nice & professional.

I live in a house built in 1923 on a hill near Silverlake. We had a sewer stoppage that threatened the whole house. Red Lilly came out and explained all the steps that needed to be taken to handle the problem once and for all. At first I thought their price was high. So I called three plumbers I knew personally and they all endorsed Red Lilly.  So I went ahead with them.  I was worried because the pipe that had to be replaced ran under my driveway and down a wall. I thought the jackhammer might split the wall and I'd be looking at $30k to replace the wall and the driveway. But they carefully cut into the concrete and changed out the pipe and put in a liner. Then, they patched the concrete driveway and sidewalk, so it all looks like new. I'd recommend them. You want a company that can do the job right and Red Lilly did the job for me.  Just like they said.

I'm surprised to see so many bad reviews. I have only had good experiences with Red Lilly from unclogging a drain to replacing a main sewer line. Their prices seem high compared to some other plumbers out there, but I have tried others and have had some problems. Today when my bathtub had debris in it and water all over the floor, I didn't know what happened. I called Red Lilly because I just wanted it fixed quick and easy by someone who really knows what they are doing. Jose came within a half hour of my call. He checked all the drains in the house and outside to make sure everything else was ok, he recommended that I have the tub snaked, but I didn't feel forced at all. Luckily, I took his advice, and he pulled out a big bunch of gunk. Now it's working perfectly. He gave me a receipt with a 30 day warranty. I will definitely call them again if another problem arises. Thanks Jose.

Red Lilly is one of  a hand full of sewer contractors in all of Los Angeles county with the proper license to do under the street sewer line repairs.  I learned of Red Lilly from the plumber who attempted to unblock my badly cracked and root bound sewer line a couple of weeks ago.  Roto Rooter or similar had opened it up every year for the last 15 years, but it had finally deteriorated to the point where that was not going to work anymore.  Surprisingly, Red Lilly gave me an estimate that matched one I got about 10 years ago.  It was still $8K - a lot of money - but less than I expected.  I gave them the go-ahead and a 10% deposit.  The work was done professionally with all the permits etc.; and it was done on time and with minimal disruption.  I was able to use the toilet every night of the project.  After completing the majority of the work, they ran the camera back under my house and found that the iron pipe going through my foundation was rusted through, leaking and filled with roots.  The work under the house cost me another $3.5K, but considering the total man-hours involved and the quality of workmanship, I think I got my money's worth.  Plus they gave me a 20 year warranty - I hope this posting helps them stay around to honor that warranty.  They seem to be good hard working honest people who deserve to survive.
