Fernando did a great job unclogging our kitchen sink and bathroom sink! He was polite, professional and efficient. He quickly assessed the situation and got to work. Before I knew it, I had 2 working sinks again.
I rarely write reviews and have not had the greatest experience with plumbers in the past but Sal's Plumbing was excellent with the entire process. The lady that answered the phone and set up the appointment was also pleasant and polite.
If I do need a plumber again I would definitely call Sal's Plumbing first!

11/30/2022 - Updated review from 2nd service.

I called Sal's yesterday to request that my storm drain be hydrojetted again. They offered to do the work the following day (today) however, they quoted a 50% higher fee than last time which was actually less than 2 years ago (3/9/2020). Given that this is a repeat job and is ridiculously easy I was disappointed that the service cost had risen by 50% to $750.

They arrived on time at 12 noon and had the proper equipment however, when I was discussing cleaning 2 very short (less than 25 ft) drain runs in the back, Nick the supervisor quoted me $1200 for the job!! An additional $450 above the already 50% higher charge for the main storm drain cleaning. His attitude was poor at best - telling me You can get other quotes knowing full well that his quote was ridiculous and capricious. I told him that I would skip cleaning the 2 additional short runs and then he told me that he was no longer interested in doing any work!! I said that I was willing to pay the $750 for the main drains as quoted by the office and after a moment he reconsidered and decided to do the primary job for which I had requested service.

After they filled the hydrojet water tank from my hose (which took 20 minutes) they proceeded to the alley to clean the main storm drains. Nick divided his attention from watching the World Cup soccer matches on his phone, running the hydroket machine and directing his 2 helpers.

The machine ran out of water before the 2nd storm drain had been completely cleaned and Nick declared that it was good enough. The time was about 1:10 pm - 70 minutes after they arrived.

He returned to my house, ran water from my hose down one drain and confirmed that water was running out of the storm drain with one of his helpers. The drains were never fully clogged - so hose water ran through without trouble before the cleaning and proved little after the cleaning.

He then presented the bill and I paid it.

That was $750 for exactly 40 minutes of actual work which translates to a rate of $1125/hr!! I understand inflation but this was usury and inconsiderate given the simplicity of the job that he had performed less than 2 years ago.

To say that I was disappointed would be an understatement. I called his company again for repeat business given the good experience I had with Nick for the last cleaning. Now, I felt disrespected and abused. Today, I had little choice but to allow him to perform the service when they arrived since it had already been scheduled and it was due to rain tomorrow. I had not expected to be made to feel like I was bothering him and interrupting his ability to watch the world cup.

On my review for their service on 3/9/2020 I rated Sal's 5 stars and applauded their professionalism and service. Nick did the previous job but today he was gruff and it was not the same effort or professionalism that I experienced the first time and I was left to feel taken advantage of and abused.

I will not call them again for service nor will I recommend them to anyone else.

We were referred to Sal's plumbing by friends. I called because I needed cartridges changed on a bar faucet. When I asked on the phone about pricing, I was told the technician would provide a free estimate.

When the technician arrived, he began work which basically entailed turning water off to the house, popping out old cartridges and popping in new cartridges ( which we provided). He was here less than an hour. He never told me an estimate and ended up charging me $325.00.

We later called to debate the charge and were offered $50 credit or refund. We told them that we would not have hired him if he would have given us an estimate of $325 to begin with, per their policy. They said there is nothing further they could do.

Needless to say, we won't be using this company again.

Sal's to the rescue! Our kitchen sink pipe burst on Tuesday and the plumber we tried to use kept rescheduling on us. I called Sal's and was great with great customer service and a prompt appointment. Joey, was our tech and he was great! Super through job! we will bring Sal's for any other plumbing issues that arise.

Our water heater was completely shot, and we needed a new one asap. Sal's had their technician at our house in less than an hour. Martin was great -- friendly, knowledgeable, fast and clean. Unlike all the other companies, Sal's gave us their all-in price up-front. There were no extra fees or expenses to add later, and they stuck to that price. Hot water was restored in a couple of hours.

I would hire them again in a heartbeat, and recommend them wholeheartedly.

Had a clogged toilet and had a quote from Sal's Plumbing almost immediately. I had to call. They quoted me $98 over the phone to unclog the toilet and used an auger to fix the problem in 10 minutes. In the end we paid $125. The repairman Sergio asked if he wanted him to wear a mask and wore boot covers when entering our house. He was polite, efficient and tested the toilet to ensure the problem was fixed.

Our main line was clogged. Joey came on a Sunday within the time frame that we were given when we called earlier in the day. He cleared the main line, requiring 65 feet of snake, within fifteen minutes. We were charged less than our previous plumbers would have charged for the same job.

We have made Sal's our plumbers since we had concerns about our previous plumbers years ago. Every plumber that Sal's has sent to us has been friendly, honest, and efficient; and we have no worries at all about paying too much.

The hot water faucet in my master bathroom came apart. All the parts were there; it just needed to be put back together and tightened. We were told by other plumbers that we needed to by new faucets and they'd come and install the new faucet. This plumber was not willing to come out and take a look. Gino from Sal's Plumbers came out within an hour of the call and repaired the faucet within a half hour. Great Job Gino and I have already referred you to my neighbor!

A tale of two companies.

The first time I called Sal I had Luis and Alonzo come to my house to assess brown water coming out of my kitchen sink. After they came to my house, they determined it was just a dirty filter and cleaned it out and didn't charge me. This was great service and I wanted to use them again. They could have easily charged my for their time.

The second time they came, i thought I had a leaky pipe in the house. The representative came out to my house and was nice,but realized he had brought out the wrong equipment to assess the situation even though it was clear that it was for a leaky pipe. He told me that he would come back again with the right equipment. He came back and brought a device to listen for any leaks. Probably took 5 minutes for him to use it. He found that there was no issue and then said I will need to charge you close to $275 for this service. I was shocked because there was no expectation that an assessment was going to be that much and i did not agree to that estimate beforehand. I felt swindled. I begrudgingly paid for it sine i had to leave the house and didn't have the time to debate.

We have used Sal's Plumbing for over 14 years and they are always great. The front office staff (Erika) is very friendly and knowledgeable and gives accurate pricing. Erik was the plumber this time and fixed our kitchen sink clog very thoroughly with a 150 foot snaking and a very reasonable price. Our shower handles weren't functioning properly and the water flow wasn't stopping. When we attempted to fix it, the water ended up just coming out stronger.
We called Sal's plumbing and the office dispatched a plumber who was at our house within 30 minutes (he was finishing a job 10-min away).
Joey, our plumber, was knowledgeable and friendly. He told us exactly what part he needed and one of us was able to run to Lowe's and get the correct piece.
They quoted us a reasonable price and he got the job done efficiently while educating us on how to best maintain the pieces we did have.

Joey from Sal's plumbing came out to swap out my water heater in my garage. My water heater was 10 old and Joey inspected it and said it was time to swap it out and not safe to fix. He did a great job with installing the new one and he was very knowledgeable with all my questions about the installation, what needs to be done with the vent exhaust, and all the additions that needed to be done with it. He was very professional, courteous, and I would love to have him as our main plumber next time we call in. So if you're looking for a great plumber, ask for JOEY when you call Sal's plumbing =)

This was my third time using Sal's over the past five years, and just like the other two times before, the experience was great! They were able to check out the issues we were having within a couple hours of my call, knew exactly what was happening and returned the following morning to start the work, per my request. Sal's is kind of a crap shoot as to who will come and how interested they will be in fixing your problem. We used Sal's a few times for simple jobs like replacing a faucet or changing out a flush valve and shut off valve on a toilet. These jobs were OK, but what we were charged depended on who came and if they felt like calling into the office or not for a quote. Sometimes it was a reasonable price and other times we were quoted twice as much. When we objected, they would offer a discount. Standard operating procedure cus the company gets a cut and then the individual plumber gets a cut.

Anyway, a few years ago we had a pinhole leak in a copper line. First, Luis and two trainees came out. While showing his trainees how to use the water meter to check for a leak, Luis first disputed we even had a leak until I showed him the bubbling paint on the wall. He then clumsily and haphazardly opened a hole in the drywall behind our toilet and saw the pinhole leak. They cut out the section with the leak and used a copper fitting to fix the pipe. Charge was $1250! I mean, what the hell did I know. I paid it.

Two days later I noticed that there was still a leak. Another plumber was sent out. I won't name him here. He noticed that not only was this pinhole leak not fixed correctly but that the entire length of pipe should be replaced. He offered to replace it with pex piping. He said if I would agree to tell his office that he simply adjusted the original fix and there was no charge, he would do the job for $200 cash to him personally. When I said I'm a renter and would need a receipt, he backtracked and called his boss for an estimate. Another $750. So $2000 to fix a supply pipe behind the toilet.

Remember, when you call a large plumbing company they have one license they work off of. This means their individual plumbers may not necessarily be licensed but trained in house or apprenticed under an actual plumber. This is why they are often called technicians. So, as I said, it's a crapshoot as to whether you will get a good, honest, qualified plumber when you call Sal's. Disappointing but have learned my lesson.

Sal's Plumbing to the rescue again! I recently opened my water bill, and to my surprise, it was triple the normal cost! My water company said I must have a leak because we had not changed our normal water use behaviors.

I put in an urgent call to Sal's last in the afternoon and a technician came out the next morning. Geno, the technician, assured me he would get to the bottom of the issue. He was able to find the source of our leak quickly and make recommendations to fix the issue in a cost efficient way (which plumbing company tries to save you money in this environment?) Needless to say, I was beyond happy to have my issue resolved without spending $1,000's of dollars.

I know I can always count on Sal's to provide quality service at a great price! Their techs are knowledgeable and look out for the customer. Don't hesitate to call Sal's when you have a plumbing issue small or large. You won't regret it...I highly recommend them. Thanks Sal's!

Thomas helped us with a major pipe burst project to replace our main line. He laid out the options and explained the processes clearly. Sals replaced our drain pipes but left all the old lines under the house in the crawl space, despite saying they would remove them. We only found out after having an electrician do some work months later. Pretty disappointed.

A few days ago, I had a sewage line stoppage and needed a plumber right away. I arbitrarily chose Sal's Plumbing (since it was at the top of the Yelp list) and would later discover that I made a great choice.

The initial plumber arrived and surveyed my house only to learn that it was an older home that was not equipped with a clean-out. He called for back-up in the form of his field supervisor, Nick Rubio, who arrived shortly thereafter.

Nick and his associate got to work and, despite some challenges, such as an older 2 rooftop vent pipe, they literally pushed through to get their camera past the arc of the pipe and down to the sewage line for the inspection, which also inadvertently cleared the blockage!

Nick made a few suggestions to upgrade my house, like installing a clean-out and jetting out the sewage line. I found Nick to be an honest, knowledgeable, no-nonsense type of guy, which I found reassuring these days.

In the end, Nick charged me only the cost of the inspection fee. I will definitely be using Sal's Plumbing in the future for my plumbing projects and emergencies, and will refer them to family, friends, and colleagues.

Took a shower. Hot water wasn't getting as hot as it normally does. Went to the water heater to look at it. Sure enough, it was wet everywhere so definitely busted. Checked yelp for highly rated local plumbers to replace the water heater. Went with Sal's.

They were very responsive. Sergio and Jorge came out the same day to check it out and confirmed that it needed to be replaced. They asked what I wanted to replace it with and I just told them some brands off the top of my head from a recent google search I did (I had no idea what I was talking about really). They recommended Bradford White since that was what I was replacing and its pretty high quality. Okay, sounded good to me. They said they didn't have that available for the same day install since the warehouse was closed but could pick it up first thing in the morning and install it then. 1 night without hot water was okay with me so I confirmed that plan.

Next morning comes around and they show up with the water heater ready to install. They quoted me $3k which seemed a little steep but we really needed to replace immediately. He said he would give me a good price and said he could get it down to $2800. At this point I'll take the discount but it just felt kinda 'sales-y'. They replaced the water heater and I paid them with my CC.

So my main concern with this whole interaction was really just the price. I really suck when being put on the spot for pricing which is why I will never set foot in another car dealership or timeshare showroom again. My gut was that the price was a little high, but I was willing to pay given the family's need for hot water and potential water damage to the closet. After some research after the fact, I found the same model water heater for about $1k online. There were of course some cheaper and some more expensive places but that was the average for this model. That means I just paid $1800 in labor for a standard gas tank installation! No matter how I spun it with all the 'calculators' online, that labor rate was on the high end for our area. To their credit, they did a fantastic job, were very responsive, were courteous and personable, and even educated me on ongoing maintenance, tips, and tricks. So they were great in pretty much everything except for the fact that, I felt a little ripped off even with his 'good price'. So just a word of caution, they seem to do a great job, but they are on the high side in terms of price.

Had my shower faucet fix because half of the cartridge stuck in the pipe. Per the operator, she will send a technician (Eric) to do visual estimate. But when technician arrived, he started taking off the parts and tried to pull cartridge out and plastic broke leave me no choice to have him continue but still unable to pull the cartridge out. Per technician, he will go back to his office to get a special tool to pull the cartridge. After 30 minutes, came back with the special tool (flat screwdriver, hammer, and a long screw)... after fixing, charge me $450.00. What??? Never again with this company.

We've used Sal's Plumbing years ago and had a good experience.

Fernando arrived this morning to help us with a leaking problem. He arrived early and was very friendly and polite as he tried to provide information on the problem and answer all our questions. We eventually decided we needed a leak detection company as the leak is very small and slow. We appreciate that Sal's is available by phone at all hours and that we were able to set an appointment Sunday night after 10 p.m. for an appointment the next morning at 8 a.m.

Pipe underneath the house was found leaking pretty bad. I turned off the water and inspected myself. Seemed like a rather easy fix as the only issue was the SharkBite connection between PEX and copper had failed. As this was the main line for the kitchen, it was a priority to get this fixed. Called for emergency services (after hour services and $100 on top of any service cost), and the guy who showed up was nice enough, but from the very get go as I explain the issue, the excuses started. I don't have the right equipment, I may not be able to do it, it's late and it would take me all night if the main shutoff valve doesn't turn off the water. Yes, I understand it's after hours, but that was the reason I requested EMERGENCY services. The objective of the excuses was to try to absolve himself of resolving the issue that night and come back the next morning.

The quote comes back at $700.... $700!!! Now, I'm no plumbing expert, but I've had similar exact issues in the past and know the cost of materials. It's a very quick job if you know what you're doing. Being extremely generous and saying the materials are $100 (5 feet of copper pipe and 2 slip fittings), plus the extra cost of emergency services, which I was still being charged mind you despite him coming back during normal business hours, there is no way in hell that this is a 5 hour. I don't know in what world you get to $700. I was shocked, but reluctantly signed the quote as I needed the work done, and this is with him coming back the next day.

I got no sleep that night being super pissed knowing we were being taken advantage of. As soon as I could, I went to Home Depot at 6AM and got a $10 SharkBite slip fitting. I figured I could at least fix it enough to allow us the water until a real plumber comes and fixes it. By 7am, the job was done. The water line worked well enough and I called to cancel the service. I didn't want the guy needlessly traveling to our house when I already fixed the issue. What motivated even more to try to fix the issue was when I got underneath the house again to try to repair it myself, I reviewed the guy's temporary fix. He had grabbed a piece of plastic and wrapped it around the fitting... He somehow thought this would slow down the issue???? Really? The only reason the pipe was leaking as slow as it was because I turned off the main water supply. Yes, it's still leaking slowly because the pipe isn't fully drained. Hello?!?!

Anyways, I called a real plumber who came out and fixed it on that same day. The price of the fix?? $225. An hour or so worth of labor roughly and whatever material + profit. $700 vs $225. To add insult to injury, the guy from Sal's was trying to sell me on upgrading my pipes to PEX before even fixing the original issue. At least fix the emergency issue first before trying to sell me on new stuff. He said there were some pin hole leaks in two spots. He showed me the pictures. When I went down there, there was zero water where the supposed leaks were. I touched the pipes and grabbed a cloth to see perhaps maybe there was some water and it was too cold for me to notice. Nope. Nothing. Yes, there was corrosion and there may be a pinhole leak sometime in the next couple years, but there wasn't one there now. I felt lied to and like we were being taken advantage of. I'm still mad at the situation and I want others to be aware of this type of service from Sals. Now when I read these 1-star reviews mentioning overpriced service, I totally believe them. I will never ever contact Sals again for any service what so ever.

..found Sal's plumbing based off of their impeccable yelp reviews and they did not disappoint. I called in the morning and had a technician out to my house later that afternoon. They were able to quickly dissect my issue, and we went through with a Hydro jet Cleaning of our old water lines. Very happy with the outcome and would recommend this business to others.

Joey Foster did a super repair job on my shower leak. It's been leaking for a while and the landlord and a handyman tired to repair it but it would still leak. Joey took time to look at the problem, trouble shoot it quickly, and also explained the problem so I could understand. He is very nice, knowledgable, and quoted a fair price for a job well done. He also made sure that the area was clean after the repair. Everyone in the office is amazing too. I will definitely be calling Sal's plumbing for any water issues. Very happy customer. 10 stars!

I had a very badly clogged toilet that I was trying to deal with on my own due to being so embarrassed about the situation. Finally, I realized I needed a professional. Thomas of Sal's was just that person. Came in, wore booties, gloves and a mask, used an auger to clear the pipe, and even asked for paper towels to clean out the nasty toilet bowl for me. Plus, he was friendly (to me AND my little dog)!
Sal's will be my plumbing service from now on. BTW they offered same day service. (Oh yeah, the office staff is very pleasant and professional, too!)

I recently called Sal's plumbing for a clogged drain for my business and I was charged $375 by a gentleman named Sergio. Which I got it down to $275.

The job took literally 10 to 15 minutes. I had a thin small snake which I tried to do the job myself and it got stuck. We left in there thinking we might damage the pipes and just left it as it is till we get the pro's. He didn't even give us the estimate, he just did the work. My usual handyman charges us $90 to $100 dollars for a clogged drain. But Sergio charged us $375. I asked, why does it cost so much and he said because there was a stuck snake which all he did was yank it out which we could of just done it ourselves.

I called the pro's knowing I might have a cracked line underneath the floor and it might need to get demo'd and that's why I called the pro's over my usual handyman. And I got a estimate for about 10 feet of demo and pipe line repair for 7 to $8000 dollars..... I was hoping Sal's would had gave us a reasonable estimate but that's just ridiculous. I have called a different plumber for demo and line repair and it wasn't close to how much this place was trying to charge me. I just wished I remember what plumbing company they were....

I had a stopped sink drain in an upstairs bathroom. I had previously called a plumber from a *different* company, but they were not able to clear it with their 15' snake and recommended cutting into the wall and pipes! So I called Sal's instead, and the supervisor recommended that they come out and try their 25' snake. Sal's were able to come out the next day and quickly clear the drain with the snake. I appreciated the quick reply from the supervisor, the quick/timely service, and the professional approach from Sal's to easily clear a drain that others couldn't!

He was persistent in fixing the problem today and very informative about what options we have going forward since this is an older house with pipes that have a lot of scale buildup. The folks are really friendly and gave me a heads up when the technician was running behind on schedule. It's the little things that account. Thomas from Sal's Plumbing came within the hour during the evening to fix a clogged pipe, toilet was backing up! He had all of the equipment including a sea-snake (camera), found the root of the problem, roots! His 100 ft. snake cut up the roots growing inside the pipes and cleared the pathway. Price was reasonable especially for coming out on short notice at night, otherwise our toilets would've been inoperable overnight. Thank you!

I had a toilet that was leaking water from the tank and a bath tub faucet that had cracked. Gaspar came out, did a quick assessment and advised me on the specs of the replacement toilet and faucet I needed to pick up. He also gave me a fair price quote. A week later I called back and he was able to come out the next day to do a quick and painless install. He even hauled away the old toilet. I found Gaspar to be very professional and respectful, using shoe coverings in my home and wearing a mask. I would definitely turn to Sal's Plumbing again in the future thanks to employees like Gaspar.

My kitchen backed up and I called 2 companies: Rooter Hero & a local mom & pop. Rooter Hero had a discount going so I had them come out. Rooter Hero wanted almost $430 saying I had 2 drains that were an issue. My neighbor and I thought that was too much so he called Sal's. They came out within a few hours on NYE! Thomas from Sal's did the work for $250 w/o upselling me or trying to do unnecessary work, like Rooter Hero tried to do.

BEWARE! UNPROFESSIONAL, THIEF CHILDREN!
Needed a pipe fixed. They showed up and fixed it leaving a huge hole in the wall saying we don't do drywall only AFTER the hole is there. Would have been nice to know over the phone. Then the dude tries to snake his own company for price, then overcharges me,...with the stipulation that they'll take hundreds off for a FORCED yelp review. Not paying for a half finished job. Ask the tech to leave and he takes it upon himself to break the law, shut off all the water to both my unit and the neighbors. Upon calling I'm told that they know the tech shut it off, told him to, and try to ransom the water with their over charge, by their rude little secretary supervisor. Now the city, police, and attorneys are involved as I have video of the tech doing it. Steer clear of these crooks.

I called Sal's Plumbing out for a problem in my shower. The guy that came out was professional and great. The problem I had was the work being quoted was overpriced. In addition, additional work I was not asking to be done was offered and quoted also. The additional work was for something that the city or in my case the Water Company was responsible for fixing. The initial problem I called about did get fixed but by someone else for less than half of the price quoted. I can say the guy who responded did call his supervisor and ask for some wiggle room in the quoted price and was flat out told no the price is a fixed price. I would say buyer beware and get several quotes before settling on this company.

Very dissapointed. I called for a quote to remove my old water heater tank and install the tankless heater I purchased from Home Depot. Sal's plumbing came out and quoted me $2,800 just to install and remove. I won't be choosing them

Had my sewer pipe clogged just from time and use. Called these folks Friday at noon and Sal's sent their best employee out and arrived within a few hours. Got a good price quote to replace 2 toilets. Dominic was the one who came through and worked hard with a 5:30P.M. arrival time. The supervisor Thomas came out to help a few hours later in the evening to help Dominic out and finished the job by 10:15P.M. Thomas did recommend a clear out and showed me a detail view underneath my sewage pipes 75 ft. down with a camera. I was impressed with their overall patience, professionalism and hard work! Will use and recommend Sal's plumbing in the future for sure!

We have been using them exclusively for 6 years and every time they deliver with out excuse. Recent job was to install two new toilets in a 50 year old unit -- replacing the original antiques. They scheduled an inspection for the estimate...provided detailed advice regarding the best replacements (including how to save money on them at local retailers) and then showed up promptly 2 days later for the install that was a spotless, quiet and no drama event. All of this while the house was full of people working and communicating. In post pandemic US every service provider (especially the Fed/State/Local Govt) has a long litany of why they are falling short -- not Sal's!

Called Sal's plumbing day before Thanksgiving due to an overflow toilet. The phone picked up after only two rings. The lady behind the phone was friendly and gave a quote as well as availability for dispatch time frame. She scheduled the appointment and told me the plumber will call w/an ETA when they are on their way. I got the call within the time frame and Martin the plumber came, was polite and courteous to wear a shoe cover before entering the house, checked out my toilet, got his tools and got the toilet to flush again within 10 minutes. He even told me what the problem was...due to lime sealed build up for old toilets and showed me the date the toilet was made. He gave options of installment and where I can get a new toilet. Martin was efficient, effective, and knowledgeable. Great service.

Water was leaking in my garage and flooding my neighbors condo garage and bathroom. They sent 2 technicians out. No one could detect the leak and they forgot to bring equipment with them to the job site so I had to wait an additional hour. Then they suggested I tear apart all of my kitchen and the walls connecting to my neighbors unit to hopefully find the leak but they weren't sure if that would even work. I was then told I would maybe be given a report within the week even though I had a plumber coming the next day. Unbelievably horrible service.

We had a leak and decided to call Sal's Plumbing again since we used them last time with Mike, it was ok then. This time around one guy came out left and couldn't find where the leak was, second guy named Eric S. came out next day, he then cut the wall in our garage where the leaks was and cut into our water supply pipe. Obviously the original leak was very slow that why the first guy left. This Eric guy cut the pipe and made two dent marks and water burst out like crazy and he tried to deny it. Not only that he took the plywood board away to hide the evidence that he actually used the power tool to cut it. Experienced plumber tells me that they wouldn't use power tool to cut drywall instead hammer it first. So after he denied that he created that leak, he was trying to give us some outrageous quote to fix it!

We had to call another plumber Fragoso's and they confirmed that the guy cut it, it wasn't there, and they discover the leak on the drain pipe next to it, that was why the original leak was a slow leaks. We tried calling them many times the next day asking them to come fix or pay for the cut they caused. The manager never call us back, we would try to bring them to small claim court. This was horrible experience, they should admit it was their fault and try to fix it for us.

So we ended up having to fix the cut they caused and the drain leak was discovered with more than $1K! Beware of this company, not professional at all if they want to stay in business and keep their reputation, they should offer to come out and fix the cuts the Eric S. guy caused!

I've hired Sal's Plumbing twice now. The first time was for a 100 ft. sewer pipe replacement and I was nervous at first; however, I was so impressed with Nick and his team because they're a very organized and efficient crew that completed the job in only 3 days. Nick is so easy to work with, has great follow up on any questions or concerns, and makes sure to show you the progress they're making each step of the way. He also gave me before and after videos showing the inside of the old sewer vs. the new one. The second time I had a clogged drain in my kitchen sink, and Thomas not only fixed the problem, he thoughtfully removed my garbage disposal because I don't use it, and added new drain pipes for me. He's a friendly and helpful professional that takes the time to explain and show his results. I'd recommend them for any plumbing job because of their expertise level, reasonable cost, and great customer service that goes above and beyond expectations!

I had a stopped up kitchen sink and bathroom tub. When Thomas showed up, he took one look under my house (I have a raised foundation) and he said he knew the problem. He wrote me a quote for a total job price, not an hourly rate. He replaced the kitchen pipe and corrected the slope. The good reviews are absolutely true! They have excellent customer service and stand by their work. I called them for a clogged kitchen sink last week. The 1st plumber struggled but he said he was able to unclog it. Not a week goes by and the sink is backed up again. Just a simple phone call to let them know what happened and they sent a 2nd plumber, Gaspar, as a courtesy. He was able to unclog it for good this time and was very friendly and professional. I really recommend them for plumbing needs and will be using them as my go to plumber from here on out~

Warning- long review!

It took me a couple days to finish this review... trying my best to be calm and reasonable and just document what happened in the past few days.

We found water leak on Sunday night and were super panic as this was our first time ever experiencing this, so we called Sal's based on a neighbor's recommendation and good Yelp review. The receptionist was very nice and booked someone to come in next morning.

They were very on time the first day, and I did appreciate that. They looked at the problem and told me my master bathroom drain pipe burst and needed to replace it as well as the main drain. They quoted me a very high number (9000) for the job. I was in shock but also stressed and wanted to be done, so I agreed (my fault, I know). And they promised me to start that day, but they only cut open one part of the wall and then left (took about an hour to consult and cut the wall in total).

Next morning (Tuesday) they arrived around 9:30, and said they are gonna start the work. I stayed at home with the kids when The tech called me to ask me to come down. I didn't see much progress, but instead he started to talk me into having other additional services (jet wash and repipe). He took the time to show me why I should get the jet wash done and why I need to repipe, I told him I will think about it. They said they will go on lunch break soon and they left around 12:40 ( I remember the exact time because I was feeding my kids and looking at time to monitor nap time). That break was a 2 hour break. They were back around 3. Talked to my husband about the same thing (jet wash and repipe) and then said they are done for the day (total working hour is around 4 hours). That day they opened up more ceilings and walls. It was mainly one worker on site most of the time. The plumber in charge came in and out. I asked about a plumber report again, he told me he will give me a nice report tomorrow.

The third day they arrived around 10. Started the work to replace the pipes. The main plumber left again. 2 workers were working on site most of the time (one young man WITHOUT mask for most of the time). My husband went to ask for the report and before and after pics he promised to give me. He gave me a piece of paper with very vague info. Also, no pictures before they cut open the wall or ceiling like he promised. Again, I tried my best to trust his professionalism. They worked from around 10-4:30. Cleaned up the floors and plastic and left. We noticed our kitchen floor were tore (from dragging and moving the refrigerator) and the holes on the ceilings were very ugly. Mitigation company came in to give us quote, and even asked me if those hole were made from the plumber because it should not look this bad.

More people came in to give us quotes of repair and possible repiping. EVERYONE mentioned the ugly holes and said they should do a better job. Some plumbers came in and told me we are waaaay over charged. Again, I know I'm the one who agreed on the price but it was heartbreaking because those are hard working money and we know nothing about plumbing and trying to trust a professional.

I'm sad this happened to us, and this is just my honest opinion. With the price we paid, I really think we deserved better service.

I had to call for a plumber today to clear few clogged drains in my house and Thomas came to my house on time and he was great! The bathtub drain was working fine when he checked for some reason and he didn't try to over sell me anything. His first attempt at clearing the kitchen drain failed and I became concerned it might be more serious than just a simple clogged drain, but he changed his snake and eventually he got it cleared for me. Luis from Sal's Plumbing Company came out to find out where a leak in the upstairs master bathroom shower/tub was dripping into the ceiling of my kitchen cause damage. I thought it was in the supply lines, but after some quick investigative work by Luis, he determined the leak was actually coming from corroded tile grout. The water was seeping through there and working its way down to the first floor. Needless to say, it was an easy fix for me. I still needed to do some patch work in the kitchen, but at least he didn't tear out any tile from the shower stall which I was bracing for.

After the snake job, he did not properly tighten the pipes and they leaked.
I had to call Sal's again.
Most of all....very rude and working process was not professional.

Hit or miss. We called them once, for a busted pipe issue and Mike came out and was GREAT. Honest, reasonable, reliable, and communicative.

Our second experience was SO bad though, that it drove my five star review so far down to two. We booked Mike again and he was out sick so they said they could send someone else the next day. Well, they sent a man named Salvatore, who was two hours late because of a mix up, and he wasn't wearing a mask when I went to answer the door. Since we're in the middle of a pandemic, I motioned for him to wear his mask and he did. He took a look at the work required and provided us with a quote that was over $800 more than it should have been. He also tried to up-charge us on getting a $35 faucet by almost $300, and we said no thanks.

We ended up booking the job with a competitor who was FANTASTIC, and extremely fair in their pricing.

We are living in a rental with really bad plumping and we've had to call Sal's a few times. If you call the number, it's really easy to book an appointment. The guys that come out are super nice and good at what they do. They are moderately priced and they offer a guarantee on a lot of the work they do. Even though they aren't the cheapest, all of their work has lasted so I think it's been worth the price. Our rental is bad because of really cheap past plumbing work so you absolutely do get what you pay for when it comes to this kind of stuff. 100% recommend!

Not sure how this company is getting 5 stars at Yelp.

We are a commercial building and one of our exterior pipe was leaking. Sal plumbing said that it is a very old parts and it needed replacing. Replacement of portion of pipe will cost $2900 to replace it. Or, they can replace the whole section for $3900.
Because it was not an emergency, we had asked them to work on Saturday or Sunday. Sunday morning, they called and have an excuse that wrong parts arrived and can be done the following week. They even called late than the appointment time.
They were not trustworthy or professional to verify the parts. Parts did not arrive on Sunday and they did not speak with supplier Sunday morning.
Called another plumber to get a quote...
They repaired it for $100. They said that pipe was not the issue and did not need replacement for many decades.
Sal pluming is unprofessional and crooks. Please verify their work and at least get couple estimate from different places.

Top notch, 5 star rating is what this company gets! I called tonight needing a plumber due to folks flushing wipes down the toilet. We had a leak under our sink and could not figure out where it was coming from. Sal's had good reviews and it says that they've been in business for 40 years so we gave them a call.

David showed up - on time - major plus already and immediately got to work figuring out what was causing the leak. He figured it out in seconds (seriously -- I barely got out the sentence, I'll be over here if you need me). It turns out that the contractor who remodeled our kitchen knew nothing about plumbing and put the T in the wrong place, ran the dishwasher hose directly from the garbage disposal and used the wrong washers!

He gave us a very fair price for coming out and the quick fix (to stop leaking now) and a very reasonable estimate to come back to redo all of the pipes/hoses under the sink when/if we want.

Also, as a woman and I also REALLY appreciated that he wasn't patronizing -- he explained everything to me as a fellow human being and showed me so that I could see exactly what he meant. Thanks!

I had a clogged shower drain and needed a plumber as soon as possible. I asked a few neighbors of their plumbing resources, and my next-door neighbor highly recommended Sal's Plumbing Company in Torrance, as she said they have always done an excellent job whenever she had them out for plumbing issues.

Friday morning @ 9:30 am, I called Sal's Plumbing Company, Sal (the owner) answered the phone, and he scheduled my service call from 1:00-3:00 pm. Thomas from Sal's Plumbing Company arrived at my home @ 2:15 pm, diagnosed and explained the issue to me with the best solution to snake the drain to locate and remove the clog. The process only took about 10-15 minutes to resolve the problem. Thomas is friendly, patient and before I agreed for him to start working on our reported issue, he explained everything he needed to do in checking the condition of the plumbing before starting the job to the price of the job,

Thomas is a GREAT service technician and I will definitely call Sal's Plumbing Company again and request Thomas for any future plumbing needs.

Be aware. This company overcharges and takes advantage of elderly seniors by charging way beyond the normal price. Wendy the worker in Sal's office refused to allow me to contact the owner regarding the overcharges. $ 350.00 to change out a kitchen basket strainer!

I contacted Sal's to replace my sewer line. Nick came out the same day to give me a quote for the work and they got started a couple days later. They showed up when they said they would and got the job done efficiently. They backfilled all the holes and left the job site nice and clean. You can't even tell they were here. Mike is the absolute best plumber I've ever worked with. I was having a water filtration system installed in my house and we found a leak. Mike was able to come out in less than 3 hours, assess the situation, connect me with a restoration company to remove the standing water from under my house and come back and fix our pipe. I swear it only took him like 15 minutes to fix it once he was able to get into the space. And now we are able to turn our water back on again thank goodness. He's such a pro and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a plumber. I will be using Mike and Sal's plumbing for as long as I'm in this house.

I needed a plumber to address something that was raised by a home inspector when I bought my new house. Thomas came out and took a look and gave me some peace of mind since he was honest and told me that I don't need that much extensive work the home inspector might have suggested. Update: more lies and scamming. I called Monday to request a refund since the tub was never looked at and was told there were notes left regarding my complaint and a refund would be issued. I was on my way over here to update my review to resolved when a nagging told me to wait until the money was posted. Sure enough, no refund come Tuesday, when I was told it would process. I call back and the manager tells me that Angela is the owner and is not going to issue a refund. Apparently they just say whatever they want and then change their minds.

Another update: they also refuse to issue an invoice/receipt (apparently they don't give receipts until 2 weeks later when their plumbers are paid? I call bs)

We noticed pipes banging after another plumbing company came for a completely different reason and decided not to have the same company come back. So, we called Sal's and explained the issue and were happy to meet Marvin who not only helped secure loose pipes in our crawlspace but fixed another minor issue at no charge as it only took a literal minute. Marvin was very friendly, helpful and thorough. He made an extra effort while securing loose pipes to take pictures and make us aware of the overall condition of both our water lines as well as our sewage pipes so we can plan for future repairs and avoid a potential disaster. I saw the positive Yelp reviews and called this company out to repair a leaking bathtub faucet. The plumber pulled out the cartridge and said he'd have to get parts. He went away for three days and came back with the news that the repair would cost $900! I was shocked. I told him that the price was excessive. Guess what... the price magically went down to $750. So I was being handled - they were bullying me. Like a car dealership. I told them the price was still FAR too high, and they said there was no way they could do it for less. Liars. I had to pay them $98 to go away. What a ripoff.

I called another plumber and got the job done for $200. Sal's Plumbing bullied and scammed me. I paid them $98 dollars for exactly nothing. I'm not sure how they get good reviews? I have a feeling there's a lot of shill reviews in this listing.

I had an emergency plumbing issue with my home we purchased less than a year ago.

Tonight we had a bubbling toilet and and a dripping pipe. I called at 6pm on a Friday night (tonight) and they answered and were able send out Thomas in two hours!!!

The problem ended being a rusty cast iron pipe that created a blockage. We will need to eventually replace this.

I'm so grateful we were able to get help so quickly! Thomas was extremely helpful, hardworking and professional. Will be calling Sal's back when we're ready to replace that pipe!!!

My toilet was backing up into my shower. Thomas came and did a full inspection including going into the crawl space and showing me where the contractor did not do things to code, then went back to the front to the clean out pipe and used the see snake to show me the blockage and the underlying pipe transition issue. The fix itself was pretty quick but the information he provided was incredibly helpful and he was very patient as I wrote everything down and sent me the photos.

I called them for a job, they told me that they'll use a machine to look for a leak if they can't find the leak and that will cost a total of $275 and they will ask me beforehand to make the charge. Ok, I had a tenant that lived at the property and I figure no issues, gave them the credit card number to put on file for them, these guys got hundreds of reviews at 4 1/2 stars, right?

Well, news flash, that's not what happened. The plumber (Marvin) had used the machine, charged me $275, and called me to tell me about it. I objected, but the charge was already made. He told me because of his mistake, he'll give me a discount for the job at $2800 a great discount according to him.

One hour later, I receive a quote at $3700, close to $900 more from the quote he gave me over the phone. The heck? I notified the office immediately about it, the result?

No refund on $275 and they defended their slimeball plumber, telling me that his quote is usually the cheapest in the industry.

Usually, that kinda BS would fool the average customer, fortunately I have had plenty of experience dealing with other plumbers and this is extremely expensive. I called their BS but wasted my time and most important these guys stiffed my money. Especially during shut down and COVID-19, this is is simply unacceptable and if I can give them negative reviews I would.

Had major roots growing in my main drain to the sewer. The whole house flooded from the blockage. It was a big job to dig up the blocked drain and replace it. I smelled gas coming out of our dryer and we bought a gas leak detector off Amazon in order to make sure that I was smelling something. It indicated we had a leak. We replaced the hose thinking that it would be enough, but then a few days later, I smelled gas again. I called the gas company because I was worried and they shut off our gas indicating that it was hazardous. The only thing they said was to call around to see if we could get a pressure test done and that we could potentially have other leaks under the house. I was shocked!

I went on Yelp immediately and completed one of the forms getting companies to contact me. Sal's was one of the ones that responded. As a result of so many amazing reviews, I called them and asked for an appointment. The lady on the phone was pleasant and scheduled me for the next day from 12-2p.m. Jose, our technician/plumber was on time at 1 p.m. He indicated needing other equipment, came back promptly, and sealed our dryer connector. He rechecked the gas leak and there was another leak! He checked our water heater, replaced the shut off valve and save us a load of heartache! I cannot thank you enough!!!

I had a new refrigerator delivered only to find that my icemaker valve behind the refrigerator was broken and stuck in the on position so delivery crew could not install until it was fixed. I called Sal's and within 1 hour that day, they sent someone out. Very Fast response time.

Dave came out and took a look and helped change the ice maker valve and replace it with a new one. He was professional, INSTRUCTIONAL (taught a new homebuyer like me some tips and tricks), friendly, and wore his face covering. He was also very dog friendly and took a hosing down from the water line with a smile and a laugh.

They fixed the part and pricing was very reasonable for parts and 2 hours of labor. Would recommend to anyone in South Bay.

Wow! What a great experience! Our house was starting to flood due to a clog. Called Sal's Plumbing and they came out right away. The main guy, Luis, came with his crew to determine the issue within couple of hours. He explained the procedures in finding the clog and how to resolve it. Very clear and informative.
He was able to located the clog but, unfortunately, it was deep under the ground in the middle of my driveway. He and his crew took all day digging out the hole through the extremely sunny day. They located the clog and unclogged it, so that, we can run the water for the night. They came out next couple of days to finish the job. Refill the hole and added the Two-Way Cleanout. The attached photos show what a great job he did....just like new.
I highly recommend Sal's Plumbing and, especially, Luis, who is very friendly and does a very very clean job. Ask for him when you call!

They were able to respond to our clogged drain issue within two hours and cleared the line and replaced needed parts for a good price. They also claim that we need a whole lot of expensive work done to solve the problem in the long run. I would certainly get other estimates/opinions before doing that.

Steer far away from this outfit based on our experience from last week.

Had the pilot go out on the water heater. I don't fool around with things that have gas lines so called Sal's.
Tech (Carlos) shows up early and tells my wife, within 2 minutes, you need a new water heater- $1400
I get home and ask-
did you check the element- no
did you check the thermocouple- no
Try to relight pilot- no
Tells me unit is from 2013 by showing me the serial number. I show him the tag showing the manufacture date is 2016 and is only 3.5 years old. (has a six year warranty)
Hmmm. Now he starts talking about how he can't get parts and maybe it can be repaired but won't warranty repair

I suggest we try to light the pilot and Miracle!!!! Works fine

Tells me to call him in an hour. Call- no voice mail and no name. Seems legit :(. No contact back from him on anything.

Yeah, my opinion was this guy was not on the up and up

Not just my opinion- to be sure have another company out who checks the system and everything is fine. Just needed pilot re-lit.

They must have sent someone new. Dude took 5 hours to clear the drain. He was on the phone calling someone for advice the whole time. He did eventually finish but he kept trying to push for a new clean out and main line. The price over the phone we were quoted ended up costing us more than double. I can't say I will use again. The guy was super nice and clean he was just not experienced enough.

We called Sal's plumbing because we had a very old sink in our garage and wanted to replace it with a large utility sink. We also needed the sink moved to a different location in the garage that required reworking the plumbing in the walls. After several quotes, David from Sal's was not only the most affordable but was the most confident he could do the job with minimal destruction to the walls and outside concrete. When he came to do the job, he was very communicative about what he planned on doing and the progress he was making. When he finished, our new sink worked perfectly and he hauled away the old sink too.

About 2 months later we started having problems with our sink. Our washer was backing up into the utility sink. We called Sal's again, and even though the issue was outside of their one month window, they agreed to come out and look at it free of charge. The issue turned out to be a clog in our existing plumbing that they had not installed. Even so, they fixed it and were super friendly.

I would definitely use Sal's again. They stood behind their work and did a great job.

Had a back up in our main drain pipe and needed it cleared. Thomas came out and correctly diagnosed the problem and fully explained all options. He was able to clean out the pipe and helped by installing a new cleanout to bring my older pipes up to code. Clean, friendly and responsive to phone calls and text. Would recommend for plumbing services in the South Bay Area.

I called Sal's Plumbing for an emergency sewage back up. The plumber who came out was friendly, fast and knew exactly what to do. He was very clear about what had to be done. I could tell he was honest and sincere about the pricing.

It was a hard job, but after he cleared the line I was able to use everything in the house again. Also, the clean up was top notch. I would definitely recommend Sal's Plumbing for any plumbing repair you may have.

Thomas and Jose to the rescue! We had an emergency toilet plumbing issue so we called Sal's Plumbing and the receptionist stated they would be here within two hours. Thomas and Jose came out in a quick and timely manner, right on time. They were both super kind and patient with all of my questions! We had a clogging issue and they explained to me the problem and snaked the clogged old rusty metal pipe then completed a series of tests to ensure that the main issue was resolved and the pipes were unclogged. Thank you to Jose and Thomas for being lifesavers and doing your job well!

I called Sal's on a Tuesday morning and they were able to stop by within 4 hours. They also called me letting me know they were running a few minutes late. They are super organized and professional which was very much appreciated. The tech who fixed our sink was nice enough. At one point he had to go out and buy some extra piping and the whole repair took about 1.5 hours. The cost was $165 which I felt wasn't rock bottom but considering how fast they came over pretty reasonable.

I'd totally call them again.

I am so thankful to Anthony who came out and took care of a leak my ceiling. I called the office to schedule service, and within 10 minutes Anthony called me to give me his ETA to my home. He showed up and assessed the leak and was able to identify what the problem was right away. He explained the issue to me, and let me know what exactly he would be doing. Once the work was completed he had a video of the repair that he shared with me. I am thrilled with the service he provided. When you call Sal's ask for Anthony he's very knowledgeable and professional.

My go to Plumber was busy so I tried this company see if all those reviews were legit. Ok here is my review.

*5 stars for the fast response. Spent $300 for the job. I thought it was fixed. Still leaking so I called them again.

*4 stars for coming out for 2nd time and try to figure out what they did wrong but it failed again. They said they will come back. As long as it gets fixed, I had no problem with it but I had a feeling they can't fix it.

*Negative stars for not show up again or even phone calls.
Spent $300 for the incomplete job plus they made it worse. I didn't want them to come back again and made it worse anyway so it was ok for me even I lost $300. My go to plumber was available after a week later, they came out and fixed the problem right away. It was not the complicated job at all especially for the professional plumbers.
It was just the old rusty leaky bathtub spout.

WOW!!! AMAZING service!! Super responsive even though it was Saturday evening before Father's Day! We had a little plumbing snafu and Thomas was so GREAT!! Was available right away and was out to help us masked up for safety with booties on to keep a clean work area and was sooo nice! I don't want to write a review based on personal thoughts so I will try to rely strictly on facts.

1. I got charged 600 bucks to snake a drain from sales
I got quotes from 3 other plumbers ranging from 200-350. (I eventually went with the 350 one who fixed the issue and really did a great job too.)
2. Sals was going to charge me 250 bucks to use a camera to see the clog (the other plumber I went with did it for free and removed an item from the pipe)

Sals was telling me there is no set price and the plumber will charge whatever they think the job is worth. Fair enough, but when I call 3 other plumbers and they are all 250 dollars less than what you're charging, are you just ripping people off because they have no idea how much things cost?

the 3rd plumber from sal's came out and quoted me 2100-1900 dollars to remove the clogged item. Trust me bro, i've been doing this for 15 years, I'll take care of you! .. this is a person whom i've never met before, so yeah why would i trust you blindly with 2100 bucks? The plumber who charged me 350 was able to remove the pipe and the clog. I wasn't about to let sals charge me another 2k just to remove an item that another plumber was able to do for 350.

Have the receipts to prove how much I was charged from Sals, and how much I was charged from the other plumber PLUS the actual item that was removed.

So disappointing to happen but I thought people might want to hear about it and hopefully learn from it. I have had identical experiences as the last few people this month.

EDIT: Updating with an estimate that I got proving the 1900-2100 estimate that Sals' came out to do LAST YEAR... not YEARS ago. It's insulting that you're confusing me with another customer, and making me realize that the way you worked with me is just another day to you.

First time homeowner here, and Sal's is a godsend! There is no question too dumb (believe me, I thought I had many!) and they are patient and FAST! I have been using them the last two years in Torrance and this review is long overdue! They've replaced the garbage disposal in my sink, fixed the install of a dishwasher that Home Depot's installers messed up, and helped with other issues with my older home's plumbing. Always quick to send someone out and always fast with quality service.

Thank you to Wendy at the office for patiently waiting with me on the phone to confirm sending someone out that very same day to my house. They are great every single time I call!

Shout out to plumber Mark Grand, who graciously helped fix a problem with a shower that I probably could've done attempted to fix myself (I can imagine me crying, holding a wrench while sitting in the bathtub while watching YouTube videos). He came out, fixed it, and didn't charge me. All during the same afternoon I called.

Sal's - you have a lifelong Southbay customer here! I highly recommend them to anyone who needs fast, high-quality plumbing service! Also, they are available on weekends! It's an extra cost, but always good to know in case you have a plumbing emergency!

I have been hearing a running water sound in my bathroom for weeks now. Tried to inspect around the house but couldn't find anything. I called Sal's plumbing and Thomas came to my house right away. Thomas came to our house due to us having blocked drains and water backing up in our bathrooms. He was very quick to clear the blockage and then set to work diagnosing the problem. With the snake camera he was able to diagnose that roots had penetrated and broken our clay pipes. He was quick to discuss the options and we followed his advice. When we agreed on the solution he was quick to give us a quote, draft a contract and agree a start date, which was in 2 days time. He arrived with his team, they were hard working, tidy and fast. Within two days they'd dug two holes (one 7.5ft deep) and one 4ft deep. On day three he brought with him the replacement thick flexible plastic pipe and the team slowly pulled the replacement pipe through replacing the old clay one. See photos. They removed several trees and bushes and the roots and tidied them up nicely for us to dispose of. We now have a new pipe that's got a warranty on the pipe, parts and the workmanship. Thomas to the rescue!

We would drain our upstairs tub, and it would come up in the kitchen sink downstairs... along with stinky gunk from the pipes. Gross.

Thomas snaked the kitchen twice, and then went to the hall (further along the path of gross gunk), and snaked it there. It took a while and dedicated effort, but he got the clog moving and now water drains properly again.

We had a bathroom sink with a broken stopper and rusted out pipe below, so it was starting to have a little dripping. It wasn't urgent, but they were able to send someone the same day I called. The plumber luckily had the right part and replaced the drain-hole unit quickly. We were a little hesitant because of COVID-19, but he wore a mask, so we felt safe having him in the house and we wiped up after he left.

My husband attempted to hookup the washer & dryer at our new rental home. Even after several valve size changes, there was still a faint gas leak from the dryer. We gave up and called this company. Zalas was scheduled to come over the very next day. He called in advance for photos of the existing valve in order to be ready to install the correct size valve. Within 30 minutes or so, he detected the leak and fixed the gas leak by installing the right valve. He was very efficient and professional! I would ask for Zalas again. I took one star off because I thought the service price was a bit expensive, even with the slight discount he gave me. But maybe his rate is comparable to other plumbers...I don't know. It is generally known that plumbers earn a lot! :)

Have to agree with the others who feel taken advantage of.

The guy showed up on time and fixed the problem, but his work was never approved by me nor did we discuss repair pricing. He was only brought in to diagnose the issue. Next thing I know I'm being presented with an outrageous invoice, and he got angry when I questioned it.

My regular plumber stopped by yesterday and inspected the work. He says I overpaid by 2-3 times what anyone else would charge.

What a scam. If you value your money look elsewhere. They got one over on me this time, but I will never use them again nor recommend them to anyone I know.

Very unprofessional.

Had to have my house re-piped and had a slew of things not go right. Weird things, like having a supposed supervisor show up, sit in front of my house, then leave for no apparent reason. Uh, okay, now what? Not only did the SUPERVISOR blow me off, but no one ever called to say that they suddenly needed to reschedule. It took ME calling THEM to see what is going on.

Then, a different supervisor shows up on a different day to do the work (apparently everyone who works there is a supervisor). He did not finish the job in one day, as had been promised, so I had to take an extra day to stay on premises and be there for the next day's work.

The previous day, I pointed out that the hole that the supervisor cut in the housing for my hot water tank had messy, jagged edges, and the supervisor told me that he would clean it up the next day. Nope.

The gas company comes out to evaluate the safety of the piping before turning the gas back on. He points out that the jagged cut in the hot water tank housing needs to be repaired, plus now there is suddenly something wrong with the bypass valve on my wall heater, when it had been fine before.

I call to get these repairs done, and am promised that they will come out between 11 - 1 two days hence. I call AFTER 1PM to see what is going on, and the supervisor' sounds surprised, then I am told that they can arrive at 2PM. I inquire why no one called me to tell me that they would be running late, since I have a tenant who works nights and waiting around all day for service is disrupting their sleep. The supervisor blames the front office, and the front office blames the supervisor.

It's just one thing after another with this unprofessional company. When I complained, they told me with attitude that I could take my business elsewhere. I told them that if they would be willing to refund the over $4,000 I paid them, I would be happy to.

Since absolutely no one here cares about the customer, I asked to speak with the owner. The front office refused to let me speak with him/her, saying that s/he was not in the office (does he or she not own a phone?). They supposedly had no idea when the owner would be available. Perhaps the owner is on the lam. After prodding, they eventually agreed to have this unavailable owner call me back tomorrow.

So...terrible customer service, they do not show up when they say they will, do not call to let you know they're running late, when the DO show up, they just drive away again without even ringing the bell, they shift blame to each other and do sloppy and incomplete work, they damaged my wall heater, were rude on the phone, and they have an owner who is unavailable. At this rate, I wouldn't trust them to snake a hairball out of my drain.

P.S. BTW, The supervisor who did the re-piping cut holes in my wall, but was not wiling to repair the holes. He told me he could do it for me on the side for $360. When I said that I thought the price was steep, he dropped the price to $240. I told him I'd have my handyman do it, and the price dropped again to $80. So apparently, you could do the job for $80, but you preferred to first try gouging me by quoting a price 450% higher than what you ultimately offered. Such a gentleman!

Meh. I used my handyman instead. And got a reasonable quote the first go-around.

If I could give more stars, I would.

The entire team at Sal's was amazing during our plumbing crisis.
We were never pressured into anything, given options and explanations were given every step of the way in order for us to make an informed decision on how to move forward. We were even given some options due to the holiday season coming up.

The repair took 5 days and we were never inconvenienced. The team made a stressful situation much better.

PLUS, The price for our repair was incredibly fair.

I cannot recommend them enough.

Very unhappy how they weren't upfront about the charges. At first I was told the charge would be at least $95-98 for the trip charge. The apartment had a mainline backup. By the time the plumber got there it had cleared itself. The plumber called me and told me what happened, and said he cleaned it up a little bit but didn't have to clear out the clog. So I verified the charge with him and he said no it was actually $150. I figured that's fine since it was later in the evening after normal hours (7pm-8pm). Later I got the bill and it was $250- $100 for the late night charge and $150 for him to unclog something already unclogged! I felt this wasn't very upfront with pricing

My condo leaked on Sunday (right before thanksgiving!!!) I found a few plumbing business on yelp and called one by one. Out of luck, no one picked up. I couldn't express how panicky and helpless I felt at the moment. When I called Sal's, Rachael picked up right away. She assisted me to get someone to come the same day. On top of that, she was really helpful and cheerful which calmed me down a lot.

David showed up during the time window scheduled. Because the water was wiped, he was not able to detect the leak. I was expecting a visit charge, but he didn't. He just told us to reach out if the water comes back.

Thanks to Rachel and David for saving my day. I know for sure they will be the go to person for all the plumbing in the future. =]

They get 2 stars for completing an easy job to meet bare minimum expectations, but fall short in regard to customer service. There are enough negative reviews with this plumber to justify avoiding and plenty of other 5 star plumbers in the South Bay to go with instead.

Backstory:
I discovered a slow leak coming from under my sink that was going on long enough to cause some mold growth. I hired the first plumber that popped up on yelp without much research. 5 star average so what could go wrong?

So the plumber determines the leak to be coming from the angle stops and recommends a $300 replacement. This is pricier than average based on my past experience but i accepted it based on the necessity stop the leak immediately. After replacement, he notices that the AC condensation tube hooked up to the drain is also leaking and offers to fix it, which I accepted.

Weeks later in the midst of professional mold remediation, I notice the same condensation tube leaking again. While it was obvious to me that it was improperly connected, I reached back out to sals to ask if someone could take a look. The receptionist I spoke with was very kind and explained that this kind of fix would come at another cost because it is outside of their 30 day policy. While I acknowledged I was just outside of 30 days, I still asked if they could consider this an exception based on the fact that it was improperly connected by their plumber. While speaking to the receptionist, some guy abruptly interrupts the call on speakerphone, without any introduction, who I can only assume was the manager/owner. With a rude and angry tone, this guy immediately deflects any ounce of accountability and blames the leak on the mold remediation process. As someone observing the process, it was obvious to me this wasn't the cause. Eventually, he reluctantly offered to send someone out. I later decided not to take up the offer because I went with another reputable plumbing business in Torrance to install new piping altogether for a larger bathroom renovation. A bigger potential job sals lost out on. And they competently fixed the AC tube issue that sals couldn't get right.

The main point here is that they disregard the value of the customer. This business operates on volume and not quality of service. If your policy is strictly 30 days, stick to that and respectfully decline any request to fix a mistake made on your end if it doesn't make the 30 day cutoff. No need to give the customer prideful attitude because of a mistake on your end. What matters more than a mistake made is the humility at which you resolve it. If you're reading this review as a potential customer, keep that in mind if they choose to respond to this review with more deflection.

I live in El Segundo and already had a bad experience with another plumbing company. I called Sal's after reading reviews and always seeing their vans everywhere in this area. David and Fernando came over, right on time. They were awesome. Polite, courteous and hardworking. Both jobs they did were finished the same day, our bill matched the estimate. 1 week later, everything is working perfectly. Sal's plumbing is now our go to plumbing service. Can't recommend them enough. Recently had a boiler fail and was without hot water. A complete nightmare. Had no clue who to call so I contacted Sals after seeing all the great reviews here on yelp. Customer service was incredible and patience with me as I tried to explain my situation. The repair was done quickly and affordable. It's always a bit nerve wracking to have to call a plumber if you don't have one already. Sal's was very professional. They responded quickly to my call and were at the house within several hours. Sergio is very knowledgeable and friendly. A clogged toilet led to having to replace all the drains... they were 60+ years old! It was a relatively painful process and they were able to use their trenchless procedure to avoid breaking up all the driveway concrete. I would highly recommend their services.

Extremely unhappy with the company. Paid over $600 for hydro jetting 3 months ago and this is how the drains looked this past weekend. Poor job. At the time of service, they said the service included a free hydro jet within a year. I called them to come out to do one again. They said only if drain was not working. Full of BS. Beware! Would never recommend them.

I never screamed or yelled. The owner became defensive when I said his job was poorly done. Glad I called another plumber who showed me how my hydro jetted pipes looked like. Oh, and I hung up when the owner started raising his tone of voice. I realized conversation was going no where. Very unprofessional. Quite sad.

Reached out to get an estimate. Plumber came by on a Monday. To start things off, he had the address wrong by one digit and showed up across the street. Not the biggest deal, but proved to be symptomatic of some other issues further down the line.

I had bought a new house and there were a few things to take care of, one of which was to service some corroded piping under the house. The gentlemen informed me that the estimate was free but to go under the house there would be a $98 charge. This had not been disclosed to me when I called to set up the appointment, so I declined that part of the offer. We had a sewer inspection prior to closing so I emailed him the photos, description, and a video of the pipes. Was informed I would receive an estimate the next day.

I never received the estimate. The only response I received was on that Friday where the plumber responded to the emails I sent him with the word stop, as if it were spam. No call. No email. To compound things, I arranged for estimates from two other companies. Both were willing to check under the house for free. It took about five minutes. Definitely would not have been worth the nearly $100 charge. Imagine if I had paid that and not ever received the estimate on top of that.

Had broke the water valve leading to the toilet fixing things. After turning off the water at the main my wife smartly called Sal's. Dave came to replace the value, correct the leak in the toilet on a Sunday within a few hours. He did a great job and we asked him replace our kitchen faucet. Dave did great work, very professional. This is our second go with Sal's and have been satisfied with their work product.

Another company came out yesterday and could not clear the clog. Then, he quoted that I need to replace the pipe.

Thomas was the man! He came out to my house at 8 pm today and explained what was going on with the clog that I was experiencing. Then, he cabled the line and the pipe is now cleared.

Tried to fix a malfunctioning backyard hose valve myself, on a Saturday no doubt, and totally destroyed the thing! I went to Home Depot to find a replacement and discovered (after 2 trips) that the (1) the valve design changed since 1976 and (2) it needed to be welded to be replaced! WHAT!! Now my water is off and the wife is staring me down.....on a Saturday!!!

So, I ran to my PC, checked Yelp and for an available plumber, on a weekend and near my house! I found Sal's, who is in Torrance (I'm in the Southbay) and is OPEN on Sat! I called, explained my problem (I left out my DIY details) and was told someone would be there in a hour.

Marvin arrives, pleasant and knowledgeable. Since he was here, I asked for a slight modification to raise the valve a bit higher off my putting green. He said no problem.

45 mins later, I was up and running!! Nice elbows, clean weld and a new 2017 valve.

I will keep Sal's Plumbing in my cell for future needs. And, I realized that plumbing is not my thing!! (electricity either!!)

Did a great job - came quickly today for a shower drain clog. Thomas was very polite and respectful - dealt with the issue and cleaned the clog. We use these guys regularly for basic plumbing needs and keep calling them back.

The only thing I would have asked for is if Thomas could have wiped the floor once done (there was a bit of debris on the ground outside the shower). Obviously this is something easy for me to do though, so he got all the hard work done :)

We had an urgent leak and contacted these folks late in the day. David came out in an hour, who was a very nice guy. There was a $100 fee to come out after hours, which was ok. The leak was in the ceiling so he again charged another $150 to just cut open the ceiling, which was ok. Once he found the tiny leak (from a copper elbow) within reach, he quoted $650 to just replace the elbow which he was able to do within 30 mins. The fee to come out and to open up the ceiling was ok. However, the fee to replace the elbow left a bad taste. A regular plumber would have done this for a lot less, so I have trouble seeing how talking advantage of people and charging such an exorbitant fee in this situation is good for business, regardless of the neighbourhood they live in. The extra call-out fee I understand, but seriously $650 to change out an elbow, within 30min??? As much as David was a nice guy, I will certainly not use this business again.

Had sal's out today and l was very disappointed. Long story short, the guys who came out told me we need a whole new over flow system which was gonna cost me $750 dollars. I was shocked and told them to write me an estimate so i could go over it with my husband later. One of the men then said Do You have a 2nd shower? knowing very well that we only have one bathroom and that we need our shower to work... Basically insinuating that I was over a barrell and needed them to get my shower working.

I paid them $100 just for coming out (! Wtf!),
they left, I called my dad to come take a look and we fixed my shower in 2 hrs. No new system needed. We just put the overflow sytem back together and the shower is totally fine and working now. Besides being out $100 for nothing, I feel like they were trying to take advantage of my lack of plumbing knowledge. Not happy.

I needed a bathroom drain leak repaired ASAP and Sal's Plumbing came to the rescue. I reached out for quotes on Yelp and Veronica responded promptly to offer a service within just a couple hours. As a homeowner in Torrance I give Sal's a big FIVE STARS!
They came recommended by neighbors for plumbing, but I had to be sure. For large or small projects, definitely call Sal's for an easy quote. They often answer 24 hours, a plus for emergencies.

We met PEDRO on the team and he worked on a big home plumbing issue/redo for us. We got three quotes and not only did Pedro explain everything and have a friendly crew, but he went above and beyond in his kindness and professionalism. Sal's definitely came in significantly less than our other bids too, but did far more than expected. Licensed and bonded. Also worked on weekends and around some weather. He knew about permits and requirements of the city if needed. Another plus.

Pedro is a true asset to the company, and my family and I can't say enough great things about him and his transparency. Thank you Pedro for fixing our house and caring. We will definitely call Sal's again soon.

I have had at least 7 different plumbers come and take a look at the shower leakage I had. None of them could fix the problem and just gotten worse where at one point I gave up. The leak of course got worse and when driving by I saw their van and took a picture to read some review from Yelp. Even before they arrived at my place I was very skeptical. But OMG Sergio and one other plumber that came (sorry couldn't remember the name) was super professional and REALLY fixed the issue! The drain in my master bathroom was very slow, so I tried to look for a plumber on Yelp. Yelp automatically offered some recommendations of a list of local plumbers. Most of these plumbers asked for the problem and gave a quote. Jetline plumbing gave a quote of $45-65 vs others about $90-95 for clearing one drain, so naturally I contacted them. Then the next day David from Jetline plumbing showed up, tried to clear the drain for a few minutes, then told me he could not passed the blockage area. He didn't charge for the work but gave a quote for $4,700 to replace the pipe underground in concrete. He said then I have to hire someone to redo the bathroom which may cost another 4-5K. He gave me a business card but the name on the card was a completely different plumber company, not Jetline plumbing, ??
Not satisfied with the unexpected estimate I looked again in Yelp for higher rating plumber and found Sal's pluming. Even in late evening, a lady answered the call right away and scheduled for the next day. Mike from Sal's showed up next day, tried and told me the same thing that he could not pass the snake for more than 1 and 1/2 foot. He said he needed to cut a section below the blockage and replace it. He said the blockage was about a little more than a foot above the ground. He would brake a small area of drywall to access. The cost was $570. 2 days later ( it was Friday when he came the first time) he came and did just that, exactly what he said.
He house is old, built in 1957. No doubt it needs works here and there but to give a quote close 5K to fix a blockage when he knows it is short enough and above the ground, and it does not need to dig into concrete is not an honest recommendation.
I'm happy that Mike from Sal's plumbing took care the issue promptly, with excellent result without costing thousands of dollars as suggested by another plumber.
I'd call Sal's plumping again if I have any plumbing issues.

Terrible Experience and would never call again. Giving 2 stars rather than 1 since they did respond fast to calls and later issue when there was still a leak coming from our sink that they did not fix the 1st time. Hopefully I don't jinx myself, but the other item they replaced has had no issues thus far. Also, received a call back from owner but his attitude sucked so bad, I didn't bother calling them again even with offered discount.

I won't go into all the details, but especially as a first time home buyer you rely on service providers to help you determine solutions, the right parts and places to source as needed.

A perfect ex. is I had sink with 4 holes and trying to find a similar set up was not easy and not a gazillion dollars (who knew faucets were so $$). Their recommended vendor was expensive and I felt gave me a fishy story, and even if I had moved forward it would have taken at least 2 weeks to get the parts.

The other plumber we called gave us a simple suggestion to get a more modern soltuion by adding a face plate to cover up the remaining holes, have the facet/ hot/cold/ sprayer all in one piece, use one hole for soap dispenser and worked perfect and much easier to find that kind of set up!
Also, they were going to charge me $300 for installation and the other company was $119!

See my other short review for a plumber if you are local to San Pedro or South Bay and you will be much happier in the end.

Turned out that snaking would not fix the problem this time and he had to remove the corroded pipe, accessing it from the exterior. He did a great job locating the pipe and did minimal stucco removal. Luis also replaced the kitchen faucet that was no longer swiveling with a new one. Thank you, Luis, for another job well done!

I called the office at Sal's plumbing he said he would send a man out to have a look at our clogged sewer even though it was after hours.
A professional young man named Thomas showed up with a great attitude and polite manners figured out the problem and cleared our sewer in a jiffy.

A few days ago, I smelled gas in our home and ultimately, had the gas company come out to inspect. Unfortunately, we had some pretty massive gas leaks of almost a pound per minute and our gas was immediately shut off. After jumping on Yelp and looking for reputable plumbers, we found Sal's and we're SO glad that we did.

Luis and Rodrigo, the service technicians who immediately came to our home were UNBELIEVABLY informative, efficient and kind. They walked us through every step of the project and assured us that it would be resolved quickly, correctly and safely. I've honestly never been more impressed by the level of care and pride that they both took in their work -- every step was completed carefully and respectfully of our home/ belongings. Both gentlemen communicated with us in the way that a family member in the industry would, and that is certainty not the norm. We feel INCREDIBLY grateful that Luis and Rodrigo were there to help during this scary time.

The job was completed quickly and without any hiccups. Pricing was more than fair and communication from Joe, the owner, was impeccable. He was always available to speak and/ or returned our calls without fail. Thank you. Seriously. Much appreciated.

Thomas at Sal's plumbing was great. He made a really stressed situation much better as he made sure he came up with a solution. I called Sals plumbing late afternoon on a Sunday. I was told someone will be at my home in a hour or two. Thomas showed up on time and told me I needed a clean out in front of my house to have better access to my mainline to prevent stoppages. He came the next day and completed the job. He also switched out a couple of old pipes I had underneath my home. Very professional, caring and understanding. I will definitely call them again.

Our water heater broke. They sent a nice plumber (who I do not hold responsible) that stated company minimum here was $1,675 for a great water heater with install. Mind you the heater has its own closet one foot from my front door with one step to get in. This is probably nearly the easiest install ever.

I sent for some quotes via yelp and in 10 minutes every single response was for 999 -1199.

Taking advantage of a customer in trouble is just supply and demand, I get that's business. But to overcharge a family in a pinch this much is a little shameful.

I had a bad kitchen faucet with extremely low water pressure. I called and David arrived at the agreed upon time. He loosened some water lines under the sink and let me know the flex lines and faucet lines were all calcified from our hard water. He could replace my flex lines and attempt to clear the faucet lines, but it wouldn't be a long term fix if it even worked.

He suggested I buy a new faucet and he'd come back and install it. He didn't charge me for that initial visit since I would be better served with a complete replacement.

I purchased a new faucet and gave Sal's Plumbing another call. David came out again and installed my new faucet.

He had the correct size flex lines, but he didn't have the correct brass compression adaptors to connect the flex lines coming from the wall to my new faucet lines. The new faucet lines were different than the outgoing bad faucet so the old brass adaptors wouldn't work. David said I could go to the hardware store to get the new parts while he continued to remove the old faucet. This would reduce my labor costs since he wouldn't leave the job to purchase the non-standard sized brass adaptors. After purchasing the parts, he finished the installation. The faucet and water pressure have been great the two weeks since the installation. Great customer service!

The real Hero today was Thomas from Sal's plumbing. During the COVID-19 pandemic no less. We had a plumbing emergency- the only tub in our house was not draining! They showed up when they said they were friendly, professional, thorough and affordable.

Sal's Plumbing came out to fix our shower valve. It needed a new cartridge and he gave us a quote of over $400. We turned him down and hired another plumber to replace the cartridge. The material was less than $60. Be careful not to be overcharged

I had a 40 year old galvanized pipe drain in my kitchen that had corroded. It was replacing it with ABS fittings but got to the junction into the wall and still had cracks. Luis came to bust the wall and replace the cast iron with new ABS fittings. Beautiful job done professionally and taking care of the outlet from the kitchen sink and also replacing the clean out plug. Sal's and Luis will definitely be my go to call for pluming in the future.

Of course stuff happens only at the worse time - Thanksgiving Day. After a few calls, Sal's picked up right away and in about an hour Thomas showed up and was on the job. If you need pluming help, look no further, Thomas is the one! He is knowledgable, skillful, and honest.

My kitchen sink was backed up with water and it was about to flood over, to a point I had to remove buckets from the top.

In panic, I searched Yelp for the nearest plumber with the best review and called up Sal's. I was quickly connected to someone to come that morning.

Thomas came and looked at the situation. Mindful of the coronavirus pandemic, he was well prepared with a face mask, rubber gloves, and shoe covers.

After looking around, he thoroughly explained to me what he needs to do and was upfront with the cost. All the time, he was very pleasant and patient.

He did try to unclog the kitchen sink, but soon realized that he needed to go deeper and had to access it from below.

While I called our HOA and got in touch with all the necessary people in our complex, Thomas was very helpful explaining what he did so far and what additional work he needed to do.

The pipes that he needed to unclog was above a car that we needed to move. It took a very long time for the owner to come and move the car, but all along Thomas was there for me and really wanted to help get it fixed.

Ultimately, he was able to find the clog and get it removed and our kitchen sink is back to good!

I have worked with several plumbers, while living in many homes, but Thomas is by far the best I have worked with so far.

This guy really sincerely wants to help you fix your plumbing problems and I am sure to call him up next time for help.

Wow.....a great experience w a plumber! I've spent a good deal of timing in search of a good and honest plumber when issues arise and finally found one.

I called Sal's Plumbing at the end of the work day to see if someone could come down and rooter our bathtub and shower. Not only did they come fast, they beat me home!!
Marvin was our plumber and was amazing! He troubleshooted the issue quickly and cleaned up after himself. When service people come to fix a problem and leave it a mess this can cause a bigger issue. Marvin was the complete opposite. He made sure the area was better than he found it. What a complete professional!

I can't say enough about our experience today. I would recommend this company in a heartbeat! Ask for Marvin!

This week I had a clogged toilet so i called Sal to fix the problem. They said someone could be at my home from 11:00-1:00pm. He arrived around 12:15 and got straight to work. He wore a mask and shoe booties to protect our floors. He went to the clean out and used the camera cable to see what was in the pipes and fortunately it was a soft clog because that cleared the pipes right away. We didn't have the use of both toilets so I appreciate Thomas coming right out and fixing the problem. This is not the first time Sal's has help me me out of a situation. This company is very reliable with reasonable pricing and they have taken my calls very early in the morning to schedule an appt. for the same day. I would definitely refer them to friends and family.

The sink in our half bath restroom was leaking. Got a hold of this company on a Saturday afternoon. Confirmed $98 call out weekend service. Two stars for a guy to show up with the two hour time frame good job. Service was a joke. Didn't make any effort to remove the stand that was joined by glue to get a better diagnosis of the leak. Made a guess that the sink internally was leaking. I said ok thanks. Didn't want him to do anything else because didn't feel confident he knew what he was doing. I asked if he could re-caulk my kitchen sink. $150 he asked for. Didn't seem confident when he gave me the estimate. After giving him the check for $98 bucks he didn't hesitate to get out of the area.

Won't be using this service again nor would I recommend this company.

I called Sal's Plumbing when my rental home water heater broke down and started leaking. We had it over 10 years so it was time. It was late Friday night but they were there bright and early Saturday morning. Luis and his guy were very good plumbers and they replaced the water heater after we agreed on a very fair price. I am happy with the water heater and the installation and would recommend Sal's Plumbing to anyone for water heater replacement.

Contacted Sal's plumbing to get an estimate for two water heaters that weren't working properly. Leone came out to inspect the water heaters and diagnose them. They told me both could not be repaired and needed to be replaced totaling $3300. Knowing what was wrong with both they only needed a part each. I told him no thank you I found someone to replace the two parts including labor and materials only $195 and they were fixed in about an hour. I would recommend a to stay away from this company not trustworthy whatsoever and charged me $49 for the service call.

I manage a 4 unit apartment building for my mother-in-law. A complicating factor is I live 400 miles away so I need competent, reliable and reasonably priced tradespeople to keep the building operating.

I first called Wendy, the receptionist and scheduler (I think she runs the place!) She offered to call the tenant directly to schedule the work. The tenant speaks only Spanish; no problem, Wendy is also fluent in Spanish. She efficiently took care of the scheduling. Thomas, the plumber on the job, kept me completely informed of the problem and solution to get things flowing again. Both are super friendly and totally competent at what they do. They never tried to sell me a service or solution that I didn't need.

Called them , gave them all the info including the CC over phone and scheduled a small repair. They dropped the ball on me and refused to provide service. Very disappointing and unprofessional.

On April 16 2018 around 9am, I used Yelp to find a plumber to change the angle stop behind the refrigerator for my rental in Wilmington,CA 90744 and i was supposed to let them in through the gate when they arrive. Sal's plumbing offered to help and i provided his company my personal Best Buy visa CC, phone and the condo address.Appointment was set & agreed to between 11am-1pm same day.

At one point they called me before showing up, and i missed their call , & called them right back. When i called back Joe G. presumably owner of Sal's plumbing sounded upset and stated he listened to my voicemail and they don't want to work for me because someone in my company tried to take them to court 2 years ago ????????????
I tried explaining we have a popular name and there is certainly a mistake and he has me confused with someone else, and just hanged up.
I do happen to work for a company with similar name that he mentioned, for the last 7 years.However i did NOT request their service on behalf of my company whatsoever, and the company i work for does not do business with Sal's plumbing whatsoever in the past or present etc.

They had my address, phone and personal CC#.
After this experience i went on Yelp and left a 1 star review for the experience with Sal's plumbing.Soon right after , Joe G. messaged me using YELP and stated that he returned the favor and threatened with retaliation.

This is the worst experience i had with a plumbing company this entire spring and i don't really write bad reviews unless its just bad.

If you need a professional plumber for the Carson / Wilmington area i recommend calling: Al-Garcia's plumbing or Tony's plumbing. I had a very positive experience with them and they turned the bad caused by this company into a positive experience.

Called Sal's plumbing due to water pipe leak causing damage to kitchen ceiling. They are very prompt in replies. The issue was solved by replacing the portion of the leaking pipe with copper pipe. There was leak from the repair the next day.
Again, there was prompt response and same plumber was sent to fix. Unfortunately, I noticed the leak was coming from soldering repair from the day before. The plumber decided to use PEX pipe to repair, which I did not want, especially since I was told by the plumber he didn't prefer it as it may cause cancer the day before. Moreover, the PEX pipe blew and leaked when the water was turned back on. I asked him to put in copper as he originally did for the first repair. He came back another day (the third visit) to put in copper pipe, but I was charged again for labor which was not clearly stated when he came back the 3rd time to fix. It's kind of hard to dispute a charge when the plumber finished his work.
The job should have been done correctly the first time around and not have been charged additional labor for the pipe that was not repaired correctly. I was told the repair has a 30 day warranty. I was charged total of $430 for a relatively straightforward pinpoint leak in a straight piece of copper pipe. I don't think I'll be using Sal's plumbing again.

i had a serious drainage issue at kitchen sink, which the clog built up with metal rust from the pipe and some food residue.
the condition was really bad and i really wanted to fix right away to avoid some sort of a health concern (as i knew the blockage happens 20-30 ft away and the water pooled up to the sink.
i called them this morning and they can have me a slot this afternoon easily. They called me and arranged to come earlier. they came to my unit and all the work was very efficient and carefully managed the clean environment (nothing mess up)
also although the first try with snake didn't make it through, they are very nice to accept to pursue the another try. and they made it. also they wear the mask all the time while doing their job.

Sewer line backed up. The company we normally use was not able to get to our house for several days. Researched and saw that Sal's was local, family owned, and the majority of reviews were high. Called and they committed to and were able to get to our house within 4 hours. There was some difficulty clearing the line but Thomas and his assistant were determined and after several attempts got it done. He also made recommendations to eliminate the issue moving forward. They were both very courteous, their work was thorough, and will definitely be asking for Thomas on future visits.

Thomas from Sal's Plumbing is incredible! We had a wallet wedged deep in our toilet! He used a camera, a snake and a lot of elbow grease and never gave up. He was able to get it out even though the camera showed it to be super stuck! This all happened on July 4th weekend, at night, after hours. Thomas arrived promptly and was a true professional. Courteous, polite, cheerful, respectful, knowledgeable and absolutely wonderful in every way. He cleaned up the area spotlessly and wore booties to protect our house and a mask the entire time. We've used a couple of different local plumber services in the past but we gave Sal's Plumbing a try today because the last plumber we used tried to upsell my wife on an unnecessary early water heater replacement. Our experience with Sal's was refreshingly different so they have earned our business and this recommendation on Yelp.

Our plumbing uh oh moment came when there wasn't hot water for my morning shower ... I checked the water heater and discovered that one of the copper pipes from the water heater had developed a pinhole leak. I called Sal's at around 8am on a Sunday morning because they advertise that they're available 24/7 ... That earned Sal's their first star.

The person who took my order clearly explained their pricing policy to me and was professional and pleasant despite the early hour ... That good customer service earned Sal's their second star. She explained that the plumbers would be on duty starting at 9:00 am and promised that someone would arrive between 9:30 - 10:30. Fidel (our plumber) called 10 minutes before arriving and pulled up to our house at the early end of the scheduled time. Keeping their scheduling commitment earned Sal's their third star.

Fidel sized up the job, explained what he was proposing to do and provided me with a very reasonable estimate. No additional stars for this because that's what you should be able to expect from a professional. However, once Fidel got into the job, it turned out to be a bit more complicated than expected and it took him longer than he forecast when he gave me his price quote. After the job was finished, instead of trying to increase the price to cover the extra time, Fidel stuck by his original price quote. On top of that, Fidel showed me an issue that he explained did not need to be addressed now but was something to consider for the future. Fidel's honesty and integrity earns Sal's its fourth star.

The fifth star is for Fidel's customer service. In addition to the integrity shown above, Fidel was a genuinely nice guy. He kept the workplace clean, was careful about backing up his work van so that he didn't disturb our bushes, and was upbeat throughout the job. To the owners of Sal's plumbing: Fidel earned you our business from now on ... Take good care of him. He's a great representative for your company!

However, I am writing this b/c my third toilet had the same issue (due to age) and I assumed the quote/price would be the same. Unfortunately, a different plumber from Sal's came to my home last week and I was quoted much HIGHER for the labor alone for ONE toilet when Thomas had fixed two toilets (lever and flush valve). David has provided great customer service twice for my guest bathroom. The first time was when my toilet was having issues. He was the third plumber that came out and fixed the problem successfully. I thought I would have to get a new toilet, but all he did was replace the part that was causing the problem and I haven't had any issues ever since. Today he came by and helped with a drainage issue for my bathroom sink. He has always been friendly and professional and I highly recommend him for your plumbing needs. This review is long over due! My entire house was a plumbing nightmare, we had pressure issues, constant backups due to 40+ year old plumbing, miss run pipes, mainline breaks and other fun mysteries to solve. We clearly had a ton of work to be done and were in an emergency situation. Sal's was the only company to give us a reasonable quote, it was horrific to see how many plumbers were willing to take advantage of us. Of course there were road bumps, like the copper needing to be replaced, and initial plumbing being so poorly done that issues had to be fixed, but Pedro in his always calm and reassuring demeanor handled every obstacle perfectly and professionally. So our bathroom shower drains were not draining and we called Sal's since they had awesome reviews here on yelp... sent a yelp message requesting a quote and their response time was quick! Spoke with Wendy who was friendly and very professional. She set me up with an appointment for Thomas to come to our house between 3 to 5pm (I was kind of hoping we would get him because of his great reviews).

After taking 3 hours to fix our leaking shower head, they successfully replaced the cartridge in the shower. The next morning, the shower head was still leaking and even worse. We called and they came out again, evaluated it again and said we need to replace a valve, which requires cutting a hole on the other side of the wall, estimate was $1700.00. We got a 2nd opinion from a referral from a family friend and told them the problem over the phone and said to first try to replace our old shower head. We bought a new one immediately and the leaking has completely stopped. Be careful on seeking their advice.

This place is amazing and the Plumber that they sent, Luis A was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He walked me through the issues that I was experiencing and explained why he thought the issues continued to come back. This was my first time using the company and they were able to come same day and didn't charge a fee for coming so quickly. The charge was reasonable and the Team was very patient. Whenever I ask friends for a plumber recommendation, I usually hear about Sal's. Having apprenticed with a plumber, I have basic skills, so have not needed service, but when I do, I'm sure to call Sal's.
I have criteria when choosing any trade professionals. Honesty, fair price, a clearly explained bid, and professionalism. From what my neighbors and friends tell me, Sal's fits the bill. I have an idea for upgrading fixtures and pipes in the near future, and plan to consult and get a bid from them.

Thomas has been a great help when it came to the plumbing issues in our families house.

Having worked with other companies before, scheduling has always been a huge inconvenience and annoyance.

Thomas did his best to accommodate our schedule and everything worked out accordingly.

Notwithstanding, he did a great job communicating the issues in our household with a professional and honest manner - and presented the best options on how to move forward.

Great job from Sal's team.=! I had a leaking pipe that was dripping from the ceiling in my dining room. Kevin arrived on-time, quickly found the leak and made the repair within a couple of hours. He and his co-worker were friendly, courteous, and professional. And, since we're in COVID, they came with their masks. He explained the problem to me in a very easy manner and the cost to repair was reasonable ($395) and they gave a 6 month warranty. I would definitely use the service again and would highly recommend Sal's Plumbing to you.

We had multiple drainage issues. I called on a Saturday afternoon and in a short few hours Thomas showed up. He did what he needed to do to complete the job and made sure the issue is addressed before he left. We really appreciated it. On top of that he was very informative and pointed out problem areas to look for. I would highly recommend Sal's plumbing and definitely will use them again.
I've dealt with many plumbers but by far this was the best experience and level of service.

Recently, my in-home garbage disposal went south and stopped working. Based on great reviews, I decided to contact Sal's Plumbing. After a few messenger texts, I agreed to have them supply the disposal and the installation.

When the installer came out, he was courteous and professional. Getting to the electrical plug for the disposal was a bit challenging, but he handled it like a pro and got the installation done. What I was quoted, is what I paid, no up-sell or surprises.

I won't hesitate in using these guys in the future for my plumbing needs.

Having lived in the South Bay the past 10+ years, we've constantly relied on my uncle for our plumbing needs. Then came this week, an emergency struck, he was not available, and to Yelp we went. We are so glad we found Sal (and most specifically Thomas!).

They came out the same day to diagnose the problem and gave us an honest quote and options to fix the issue (a back-up in our old cast iron sewage system that meant new pipes would need to be installed as well as a two-way clean out to prevent issues in the future). The next day, Thomas came back to make the repairs. He was knowledgable, friendly, and professional. He kept us updated with everything as the work was done and sent photos to verify all of the work done under the house.

Without a doubt, we'd recommend Sal's for any plumbing needs you may have.

Wipes Clog Pipes

Our house has sensitive plumbing. No matter how many times Flushable is written on a package of butt wipes, they are not. We're not sure if they were the culprit of our massive overflow situation from 8/25/19, but I'm sure they didn't help. Noticed lots of water on the bathroom floor in the early morning and it started seeping over to the rumpus room carpet. Everyone except me had to leave for the airport. Yup. It was all up to a girl to figure out. My brother said Better call Sal. (Get it?). We'd used them once before and didn't feel ripped off. Thomas came that time, but when I called, Wendy said it would be either Thomas or Gino, and it was Gino who came up a couple of hours later. He first called to let me know he was on his way. That was nice. Gino did a fabulous job. I mean, it's only been one day, but we're hopeful. Thank you, Gino. You were so kind and thorough and didn't mind me staring while you used that thingy to clear out the drain. It was fascinating. Anyway, I/we really appreciate it, and as I said, I'm hopeful that we will be clog-free for a good while. I think I'm just going to throw away all our wipes because obviously some people can't read the numerous signs in all three bathrooms that state Don't flush the butt wipes. Thanks, Sal. Is there really a Sal in this operation? I would definitely use this company again.

As many in my neighborhood have experienced, our sewer lines get infested with roots like crazy. We've been in our current house for 7 years, and have had sewer line clogs 3 times before. The last time, we had epoxy lining blown in to try and solve the issue but lo and behold, 3 years later we backed up again. I messaged Sal's through Yelp and had a quick response with Thomas showing up just a few hours later as agreed. He snaked the line and showed me where the epoxy line came up short on the camera afterwards, making suggestions both for now as well as later, and got us moving again. Definitely going to be contacting Sal's in the future!

Great thing is they came last minute and got the job done (turning on the water heater).

Turning on the water heater is not hard to do (youtube) but I couldn't get the gas going so I called Sal's. I just moved into the house, so I guess there was a earthquake trigger that needed to be reset.

Although the prices was a bit high to start, Joe (the owner) reached out and made it right and I'm more than happy with the rate, the service, and the ability Sal's has to come at such last minute hours.

To have the owner contact me to make sure I was happy really made the difference with my experience with Sal's.

We had a slight back up in the house. SALs PLUMBING (Nick & assistant) came out and our small problem turned out to be a very big problem. The backup was coming from the main sewage line in the front of the house. Nick was great about this big problem. He/they were very professional, informative, comforting, honest and quick. They took care of the job in a couple of days. Since they were there doing work at the house we had them convert our shower to a 1 handle nozzle. They did a very clean and good job. Definitely going to keep them for our future plumbing issues. Although I hope to not need them anytime soon.

Saturday morning our toilet clogged. We called our plumber but they didn't answer so we called Sal's and they answered right away and came within couple hours.
Thomas helped us. He showed us the camera screen and talked through us while he's doing his job. He was accurate and quick too. They'll come back and do it again for free within 28 days if it clogged again.

We had the pleasure of having Al (not Sal) come to our home to repair a connection to our washing machine. He did everything he could to not have to cut into the wall. This included coming back a second day after checking another supply store. Al showed up and unfortunately due to the odd size of the fixture, Al did have to cut a hole in the wall. However, he made sure it was cut so it would be easy to patch up.

I felt that Al did try to do everything he could to minimize the additional work on our end. He replaced both the hot and cold valves with a standard size fixture.

I would highly recommend Al of Sal's!

I want to praise the fantastic job that Thomas Ortega and his crew members: JR, Memo, and Mondo did at my mom's house in Lomita.

They were very professional and honest! Let me say that again,...honest. Their pricing was extremely fair and there was not a hard sell on the work that needed to be done.

Thomas took the lead and explained each step of the process from installing a back house clean out, a new front house clean out, a long section of replacement pipe under our raise foundation, and the replacement of front yard clay pipes with a new section of trench-less liner.

In a time where seniors are often taken advantage of it was refreshing to work with someone honest and conscientious. We will recommend Sal's to all of our Lomita neighbors and to the City of Lomita for their business ethics!

I had a Patio Drain back up and partially flood my living room. Sergio and his team came right out and worked on Super Bowl Sunday to complete the job. They noticed water flow backing into my property from the outside line. They took the initiative to investigate and partially clean the main line. They wrote a wonderful report for me and took many pictures which I can use with my HOA and Insurance company. I need only call Sal's for my future Plumbing needs!!

We were washing dishes on Christmas day when the water in the downstairs bathtub reached the top. I called a plumber the next day, initials begin with an M, and they could not send anyone until the following day.

I called Sal's. My first interaction to the end, was great. Very professional. The person who answered was professional, she gave me a window. The plumber, Thomas, showed up well within the window. Our plumbing system went down late Sunday afternoon - standing black water in tubs, etc. Called Sal's plumbing and Thomas came out to evaluate. He went under the house and let us know that we have two areas where we had leaking from the drainage pipes. Our issue was that we did not have a good clean-out to snake. Thomas proposed replacing all of the cast iron pipes and installing a new clean out at the front of the house. We are extremely pleased with the result. It did take 2 days to complete, but the pictures that Thomas took showed how wonderful everything is now under the house. I would highly recommend Sal's Plumbing & Rooter and Thomas (plumber) for any plumbing issues.

Sal's Plumbing to the rescue again. One of our toilets was stopped up and we needed help. Called just before 5 PM Wed night and received an appointment the next morning. Pedro was the man sent, he was friendly, on time and did an outstanding job clearing roots out of our sewer line. We over the years have used Sal's Plumbing and every visit has been an excellent one. I will give Sal's Plumbing 5 stars with joy but in my opinion they warrant more. So I will give 5 starts for the yelp rating and 5 billion stars for the service I received today!!!!!!!!

Had a main line stoppage and my regular plumber wasn't able to come. Called Sal's on Saturday morning after seeing them in my local newspaper ads. They were able to come at 11am-1pm. Quick response.

Thomas spent 2 hours snaking and running a camera through my lines to check for any other issues. I spent a lot of time evaluating the results with him. Learned a lot and the camera service was complimentary with the service.

Total cost was very reasonable and now no problems! I hope it stays that way.

Summary: Quick response, good prices, and grateful for the insight into my houses plumbing sewer system.

Spoke to Joe the owner. He declined to install a water heater because he didn't want to provide a certificate of insurance for the job after I had already purchased the product. Totally left me hanging with a product and a job that I needed to be completed asap. When I tried to explain over the phone how disappointed I was by the poor customer service experience I had, he repeatedly cut me off, wouldn't let me explain and then hung up on me. I was a repeat customer. We had a great experience in the past. Not sure why he made this a personal issue.
Not sure why he'd decline repeat business without making sure he understood the scope of work. Super disappointed.

Call Sal's because someone picked up and I needed a toilet shutoff valve replace because it was leaking pretty bad. It was on Saturday and he could have someone there between 2pm - 5pm. The plumber came between that time closer to 3pm. He was polite, respectful and very nice guy. He quoted me $285 to replace which include parts and labor. The parts were the angle stop and a new hose to the toilet. I thought the price was very high for replacing an angle stop (expected it to be $150-$180) but did not want to shop around for another plumber on the weekend. They seem to be very expensive for a simple 30-45 minute job and will probably not use again.

Thomas was able to come out the Sunday before Thanksgiving and determine that our issue was due to corroded pipes. Adulting is rough especially when you are homeowner. Our 20 year old kitchen drain stopped working yesterday morning. Luis came like literally 30 minutes after we called early in the morning. Diagnosis was rough because the blockage was so severe. We ended up having to replace the entire drain.
Our kitchen is on the second floor. We had to rip out drywall in the downstairs bathroom and replace the pipes. We were shocked by the condition our pipes were in and knew we had made the right decision by deciding to replace it all.
Overall it's been rough two days. But I am sure it would have been harder if it wasn't for Luis and his amazing team. Luis is meticulous, professional, and a man of his words. He made sure both my husband and I were comfortable going through this process. He also made sure that after his work was done, all the work areas were left clean, like he promised. I am glad we were able to take care of this whole pipe ordeal in two days thanks to the quick action and recommendations.

This is my first review on Yelp, so that says a lot. This morning, our tenant told us that their water heater was leaking, so I immediately went on Yelp. I saw the excellent reviews for Sal's Plumbing, so I gave them a call. The guy who answered was Joe, and he was very pleasant. He said that someone will be over within an hour. To my surprise, Dave showed up ON TIME and ready to work. After he saw the water heater, he explained to me that it needed to be replaced. He was very professional, explained things thoroughly and even picked up a couple of things to bring everything up to code. I can't say enough about Dave. I'm definitely going to use them again, NO DOUBT!

The tech arrived and came to my door and stared at me as if he had no idea how to introduce himself or greet me, so I don't even know his name. It got worse from there. Plumber came out looked at the work that needed to done, goes to his truck and hands me a quote for almost $800.00.

Our backyard hose has had a bad leak for weeks, and my dad was too busy to fix it, so I called Sal's Plumbing. Gino was very professional and friendly. He was quickly able fix the problem by replacing the bib and valve. Now we don't have a purple plastic bucket collecting the drips.

It seemed like a pretty simple fix, but suddenly there was a major leak coming from the other side of the yard, underneath a container filled with my dad's old aquarium things. Water was just pooling up, and when we moved the container we discovered that there was a completely open pipe. Water was coming out because the backyard water line was turned on. Now I know why my dad had it turned off, and covered by the container... I would have never known this about our house had it not been for this repair.

I definitely was not expecting all of this excitement this fine Sunday afternoon. I would highly recommend Sal's and am glad to have found a great plumbing service!

It's 8pm on a Monday night and nastiness starts bubbling up the tub drain. Who you gonna call?

Well I called a bunch of plumbers and Sal's was the most accommodating and fastest to respond. They sent over Nick who quickly diagnosed the problem and squeezed me into their work schedule the very next day. He was so honest in laying out my options and what to expect that I felt very comfortable with hiring Sal's Plumbing for a major job.

I ended up replacing the entire sewer drain line and main to the city line (ouch!). But Nick gave me constant updates and there were no surprise fees along the way.

Sal's Plumbing does A+ work at a very fair price. They are reliable, CLEAN, work fast and they back everything up with updates and photos. I HIGHLY recommend them and make sure you ask for Nick

I am not writing a review about completed work, but about communication and professionalism.

I emailed several plumbers at the same time for a project and Sal's was quick to respond, review my detailed request, and let me know that my job was not in their wheelhouse. As it turns out, I need a contractor to coordinate some other issues. After a couple of days of waiting for the others to return calls, answer emails, or provide estimates, it's nice to know there are professionals out there who will respond and give you a straight answer.

Nick from Sal's plumbing is the only plumber we'll use. He's honest, gives you choices, he doesn't do the hard close that our old service did, every time they came out.
The roots of our neighbors tree wrapped around our sewage pipe and broke it, causing our downstairs toilet to Repeatedly have issues. They fixed the problem quickly, had guys here all day and did an A+ job.

We've used Sal's Plumbing multiple times and have always been very happy. We will never call a national plumbing chain again. So happy with Sal's!!

Saturday mornings with plumbing issues (mainline clog) can put a damper on your weekend plans, but Sal's (or should I say Marvin?) saved the day!

The person who answered the phone was pleasant and gave me a reasonable time window and said she would call if they could arrive earlier.

Marvin arrived well with in the time window and was done in less than hour.. No non-sense, no upsells just pure hard work and customer service! Price was right as well!

Appliance nightmare no more! Thankfully, I was able to get someone out to my place over the holiday weekend to fix my ish. I had all of the necessary parts needed to connect my new dryer - except for an experienced professional to connect it! I did not want to rely on YouTube for this project. Ha!

Called Sal's for slow drains throughout house as usual for my older home. I have always had a snake and go service. When Luis arrived from Sal's he was pleasant and timely. I walked him through the usual yada yada yada. He wanted to find out what was REALLY going on and suggested putting a camera to check the main line. I agreed because it is a frequent problem and no one ever offered this service. He showed me the mess causing the problem lots of build up and city owned sidewalk tree roots! HATED to hear this but had to face reality. Luis came back fixed problem. He is great!

Found these guys on Angie's List. They came out, snaked two toilets, which was fine. Then they put a camera down and showed us roots growing in our pipes connecting to the sewer lines, and quoted us huge money to fix. Long story short, we got other plumbers out to give us a second opinion, and these guys were basically just scamming us. DO NOT TRUST THEM. Not trustworthy. Trying to take thousands of dollars off of us for no benefit. Shady.

I had a plumbing emergency with my rental on a Saturday in October. My tenants actually found Sal's after calling around. They were the most reasonable for a Saturday call. It turned out that I had roots in my old cast iron under the house. Thomas removed the clog having to pull the toilet in the process. I didn't want any more clogs so I had Thomas come back the following Monday and he and another worker, JR, removed about 20 ft. of cast iron, installed a clean out all with new PVC. The price was probably a third of what I had been quoted by a few other companies. Both Thomas and JR were very polite to my tenants and completed the job in 1 day, as they said they would. I highly recommend Sal's Plumbing. Ask for Thomas and JR.

Just moved into a new home and my gas heated clothes dryer wasn't working. Sal's Plumbing showed up at the promised time and within a couple of minutes diagnosed the problem. The gas line feeding the dryer was corroded and leaking and could not be salvaged.
Following work day Louis ran a new line, by passing the old one, and hooked it up to the dryer. The new gas line was cleanly installed and anchored to the wall. Louis even install the lint duct from the dryer to the vent!

I called for a free estimate, the person who answered the phone was friendly, and was able to schedule an appointment for the following business day. The tech, Gino, stuck to the time window I was given. He was knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. He took the time to answer my questions, and did not make it seem as though he was in a rush like other companies tend to act like when they offer free estimates.

I have to figure out my budget but when I do I will most likely be giving Sal's my business.

As good as it gets for sure! Sal's plumping was friendly, professional and attentive from the receptionist up through the owner Joe. I had an emergency repair that needed attention right away. The receptionist dispatched someone immediately even though I am farther away than their normal customers. The plumber gave me several options for the repair with varying quotes. I didn't feel pressure to go with the most expensive. The repair was completed immediately and thoroughly. The best part is that the area was cleaned up afterwards! How many times have you had to clean up after a repairman?!

I reviewed some of the other comments about Sal's. Some of the unhappy customers didn't like the quotes for service. (Does that even make them a customer?) Not sure what happened there, but I can see the owner reached out to each of those customers to make it right. I doubt very much that you'd get that type of personalized attention from Roto-Rooter.

I can enthusiastically recommend Sal's. They are family-owned and operated and do a great job. Isn't it about time we start supporting these types of small businesses rather than the conglomerates that our current administration is protecting? I say yes.

A few months ago my kitchen sink was backed up. I messaged Joe, the owner replied and called me. I had one of his guys ready to repair my clogged sink the same day and within a few hours! I was surprised. The guy that came was very informative and helpful. He unclogged it and said that usually other parts get clogged and yep... I am in need of his services soon.

The guy finished the work in under 45 minutes and gave me some advice on maintenance but I cant remember the info he gave me.

The price was average going rate for Los Angeles which i put in about $90-120

He took pictures and and explained to me what needed to be done. Then once fixed he showed me pictures of the changes and repairs he had made. My old water heater started leaking and flooded part of the hallway, so I drained the tank. I called and had some other plumbers come in to give me quotes and learned just how many flakey ones are out there. When the one I decided to hire didn't show up and then tell me he couldn't do the job, I called Sal's Plumbing next. Anthony came over very quickly, was straight with me, dispelling all the conflicting information that the previous plumbers had told me. He gave me the quote, explaining in detail all that it included, warranty information, etc. On top of that, he gave me a better (lower) price than anyone else. He showed up with a helper to install the water heater just when he said he would. They were quick, thorough, and Anthony explained the setup and controls before they left. Just a nice, friendly and honest guy who obviously enjoys his work. I told him that he's our guy for anything we needed involving plumbing.

Our sink is now working perfectly! My husband called Sal's after our kitchen sink kept backing up- and after we spent a month trying to fix it ourselves. I wish we'd called Sal's sooner. Had a clogged sewer line somewhere out in the front yard. Sal's showed up in a few hours on a weekend and took care of it straight away. Then the tech threw a camera down the pipe and took time to show me some of the roots that were causing the problem in my old clay pipes and even used a locator to show me exactly where it was under the yard. Unfortunately my experience wasn't as good as other yelpers. I called them late Sunday afternoon. I was quoted $98 for weekday drain cleaning and a higher rate for weekends. I decided to wait till Monday since we have two bathrooms. The plumber came out and quoted $150 to unplug my drain. I did tell him I was quoted $98 the night before. He did argue about that, but did charge me the $98. He said all the pipes were broke and quoted me an additional charge of $330. I asked him to describe the damage. He said it was all the pipes under the sink. I passed on the repair of the pipes. I was able to repair the pipes for $35 and a half hour of my labor. I thought the $330 was excessive. He did unplug the drain.

Called them on 6:30 am this morning, a lady took my note carefully and told me their service professional will be my house between 9:00 to 11:00.
I was very happy to have Gus coming to my house on 8:30 am, Gus pulled his heavy duty drain cleaner to solved my stuck drain line immediately finished before 9:00 am. I was also worry about they might charge me a lot, however Gus called Joe to report what he completed and even asked a discount for me! Thank you guys! 5 stars is not even enough to grade! Joe is not telling the truth at all they never started digging they just CLEANED a 4 inch diameter around the meter that is all, I will ask someone to put the pictures of their job. As far as my calling his workers and saying profanities this is not TRUE. I was upset that he was not returning my calls after he agreed the day before that he was not going to charge our credit card, the first girl that I talked to said that morning that he was going to come back in a few minutes and it took him almost 6 hours to respond and hung up on me. Hired Sal plumbing to install new water heater, later found out I had gas leaks. After 2 attempts from Sal (Gas Co. came out three different times to tell us the leak was still there) Sal's Plummer said would come out on a certain day and never showed up. We finally had to fire them and get our money back. It took Shamrock Plumbing one attempt to find and fix my gas leak. Only received 1 because we got our money back.

We called Sal's on Saturday night for an urgent plumbing issue - sewage was coming up out of our shower. Gross! They sent Thomas out first thing Sunday morning and he was able to unclog the pipe quickly and professionally. Unfortunately the blockage returned a few days later but Thomas returned to our house within 2 hours of my call with more equipment to thoroughly evaluate what was going on and clear the clog again - free of charge. He even called his supervisor (Martin I believe?) to confirm his diagnosis and help explain the situation to me, which is going to require considerable work to repair. I am so impressed by their professionalism, thoroughness, and the fact that they stand by their work. Not to mention, both were extremely nice guys! Hoping we've cleared things up for the time being, but when we inevitably need a plumber again, we'll be calling Sal's.

I called in the morning on a Tuesday and Salvador showed up at qbout 12:30pm...just around the time the phone rep quoted he would. It was an embarrasingly easy job of changing out a leaky hose bib, something I had started doing but chickened out of for fear of breaking the pipe. Since I was going to pay by credit card, he gave me the invoice and I just had to call in to the main office to run the card over the phone. No muss, no fuss. I feel they are a reliable, honest company so I wouldnt have a problem using them again or recommending them to friends.

Never had to call a plumber in my life. I rented a drain snake in attempt to clear a blockage in my main drain which manifested itself in a couple of slow flushing toilets. I tried multiple times with zero results. In desperation, I called a plumber which wasn't available for two days in the future. So, I called Sal's and they sent Pedro out in hours. He determined not only did I have a blockage, but one of the pipes underneath my house had a hole in it and was leaking water whenever a toilet was flushed. Tremendous. Pedro had to pull up bricks and dig a four foot hole in front of my house to reach the section of piping he needed in order to clear the blockage. He came by on Super Bowl Sunday (the next day) to finish up, replace the broken pipe from underneath my house and set up new pathways in case a blockage ever occurred again. Oh, and he put all the bricks back where they were before he had to pull them up. A massive help. If I ever need to snake my drain again, to hell with a rental. I'm calling Sal's.

Everyone was nice that we spoke to and worked with us describing the process and figuring out a solution for our situation. They went above and beyond on our repair which was much needed since we had another plumber out previously who couldn't identify or fix the problem. I've used Sal's Plumbing before and was very pleased, as I am this time also. They arrived just as they said, assessed the situation quickly, gave me what I felt was a fair price before starting the work - listing each task. It became apparent that he had to get a special part, so he went to the store and returned to finish the job quickly. Very friendly, helpful and I liked that he asked about my prior experience with them - seems like they are a great team. I would definitely recommend them!

This is my response to the owner's comment: Please do the right thing and refund for Mario's lazy and incompetent service, for overcharging, for hiking the prices above the quote, leaving a leaky bath faucet and pushing $1,000 prices without checking his previous work.

Where I'm at now with Sal's Plumbing and Joe the owner is I have asked for a refund for installation of defective parts. Rather than issue a refund, Joe the owner sent messages about conspiracy theories. The owner admits Mario made a mistake and needs to be talked to for poor work, but he will not refund until I delete my review.

To summarize my experience with Sal's Plumbing:

1. Quoted $350 for 1 hr replacement work when it should be at most $200.
2. Installed a used and broken cartridge. See photo.
3. Wrote on the invoice that the defective cartridge was NEW. See photo.
4. Billed $395 instead of quoted price of $350
5. Left leak
6. Did not fix leak or even check work for defects or debris on 2nd visit
7. Recommended $$$$ DEMOLITION of shower wall tile.
8. New plumber gets everything done right the first time at a fair price.
9. Sal's Plumbing is holding onto my $395 and now claims I've been hired by a competitor.
10. Don't get ripped off by this company. Joe the owner said it himself, he believes this is the best they can do.

My Plumber Thomas did an amazing job clearing a clog in our kitchen sink. They came out on a Sunday and were done fixing the problem in about 30-45 minutes. He even replaced a leaky piece of pipe that wasn't part of the original problem. I can't recommend this service enough.

Thomas knew exactly what to do, he not only ran a long snake through our pipe twice, he even checked under the house to make sure there were no problems with the plumbing beneath. Mark form Sal's Plumbing serviced my home in May 2019, and he was AMAZING! He came on time, explained the issue (toilet in the guest bathroom), and was quick with a fix. He literally pointed to the fix in 30 seconds. Because of him, I would use this company again. Thanks Mark!!

If I could give a negative review to Sals plumbing, I would. I am reporting them to the state prosecutor's office & Better Business Department.

We recently had David S come fix a broken gas pipe (courtesy of the Gardner). He tried charging me 3900$ for a 800$ job, never gave me a copy of the invoice & when confronted with the possibility of court/fraud charges agreed to 1100$. The greatest part of all is that I have this all in text messages--written proof. When I called his boss and company owner, in order to obtain an invoice, the guy (said his name was Joe) shouted at me and was extremely inappropriate.

I suggest you either not deal with this company or get multiple opinions. They low ball you in order to obtain your business and then will come out at quadruple the price.

I had selected this company both because the yelp reviews are great & David S seemed very nice. Disappointed by their unprofessionalism. Just please beware!!!!

Normally, I wouldn't just write a review based on a quote/estimate experience, but I have had THREE bad encounters with this company just on our estimates for different jobs. I figured I would save someone the trouble of even calling them. The first time I called was for while doing my due diligence of searching the best price on placing a gas line near our new wall and stove. I called 3 people, and Sal's was BY FAR the most expensive estimate...3 times more than the guy I wound up going with, who did a great job, and went above and beyond to do the work. No harm/no foul for just the estimate, but then the most recent experience is what prompted me to write this review.

We were getting an estimate on a job of moving our kitchen island up (only about 8 inches from its current position). There is already existing plumbing, and our cabinet designer thought it would be workable. Other experts were telling me over the phone this was doable as well. Sal's just happened to be on my list to call for an expert plumber's opinion to see it in person. My co-owner/partner went out to the house to meet the employee. He showed him exactly what we wanted to do. The employee immediately said it was a huge job that would require going under the crawl space, and would cost $2100!! When my partner asked why we couldn't just use different configurations of the plumbing above ground, the employee was extremely dismissive and rude, just tried to sell the job. Meanwhile, before I was able to talk to my partner about what Sal's said, I called, and was surprised to hear the estimate number. I spoke to some guy who wasn't even there at the job, and was just reading the estimate number. I said, That's a high estimate, when we probably won't even need to go under the house. Do you know if this is for above the ground work? Immediately, the guy on the phone started yelling, and talking down to me, even though I just asked a question, and he wasn't even there. He said, WE DON'T JUST PUT A BAND-AID ON THINGS!!! THINGS REQUIRE MAJOR WORK, AND YOU HAVE TO FACE IT WHEN YOU HAVE A BIG JOB.... I just hung up on the guy, as he clearly just had no desire to help me, and seemed to just want to condescend to my question, and thought he knew more than I did, even though he had never even seen the property, or knew anything about the job. He was looking at a number on a piece of paper, and that's it. He just wanted to spew out some attitude, and try to take my money. Cut to....we found a great plumber, who did come out to the property and agreed with all our previous assessments that we could do the job without touching the crawl space. Job cost: $300. Hey Sal's Plumbing....It;s called a 45 pipe! You see, you can angle pipes in the direction of where you want them to go.... Take your ego and go con someone else. Take the energy that you use to argue with potential customers, and take another class. Yuck! You suck.

I don't normally write reviews but my experience with this company was THAT bad... Honestly I've never experienced such bad customer service in my life than with Sal's Plumbing. My first service call with them went well. We had some issues in the house we just moved into and the man that we received was nice and was able to fix the problem we called for without having to do any work. I really liked how he was honest and didn't try to sell me on services I didn't need, so I thought to myself this company will be our go-to plumbers from now on. Soon after, I had a blockage in the bathroom pipes and a leaking bathtub so we had Sal's come over. The plumber came and gave me an estimate-$592 total to snake the line from the toilet to the main line. At the time I didn't realize that this was waaay more than the avg cost to snake a line, but I trusted them. I had no complaints about the work done. The guy was clean, had good manners, brought his own booties and towels to walk on. However after about a week the line was clogged again. I called Sal's and they came and did the SAME thing the first guy did, hydro vac and removed toilet to snake the pipe. Then 3 days later the pipe clogged AGAIN. Sal's came by again (since we were covered by a 30 day warranty) and this time they quoted us $1900-$2100 to break the cement in our garage to remove the item that had been causing the clogs this whole time. We ended up going with Mike from Prodigy Plumbing, who not only was able to check for the blockage without having to remove the toilet, he removed the blockage without having to break the cement or use any special equipment other than the camera and a very long needle nose plier he had in his van-for $350!!
The reason for the 1-star? After the second call I came to find out from others that the $592 was more than double what the cost should have been to snake a pipe, AND the problem had still not been fixed. I called Sal's and spoke with a nice lady about the price and she said the starting price was $150 to $250, and depending on the equipment used it could go up. So then I asked her to follow up with the guy that came to my house, because I wanted to know why I was charged so much more. Two days later I received a call from the plumber who had came to snake the pipe. He was immediately hostile, belligerent, and condescending- constantly cutting me off when I tried to speak, scoffing whenever I said something, and accused me of trying to create problems with him. I tried to explain to him more than once that I wasn't calling to complain or accuse him of anything, but he continued to be confrontational. At the end of that call, he said he would talk to his manager and they'd call me back.
The next day I spoke with him again. He stated he and the manager would refund me $75. I asked how they got that number and again he became aggressive and insulting, accusing me of basically trying to create a problem when he had done beautiful work. I tried to stay calm and asked him for a breakdown of the charges, which he then replied would take him a week... As he became more hostile I asked him to not be insulting, at which he responded I was insulting him for even questioning his work...I realized this call would be pointless so I let him know I would just call the company # to speak with someone else.
This is when the situation got worse. The manager then called me a few minutes later, with the same attitude as the plumber-rude, defensive, aggressive, and basically intent on telling me how he was right and I was wrong. He repeatedly interrupted me with how his company was a family owned business, in the business for over 30 years, his prices were fair, and that they guaranteed their work. When I tried to explain to him that even on his yelp reviews, people stated they were only charged 150, 250, for comparable work, he stated that my charge was higher because they had to remove the toilet, which wasn't the standard way to unclog a drain. When I asked for a breakdown of the invoice he said they didn't do that. Eventually I was able to get him to understand that I was never insulting or hostile to his employee and all I had wanted to know was why my charge was so much-THAT'S IT, and that's when I noticed his attitude start to change for the better. Apparently his employee had told him a skewed version of the situation apologized.
I understand he wanted to protect his employee but really, the manager's approach to the situation was very unprofessional and unacceptable. After 30 years of business, you would think they would know how to talk to a customer...
In the end, they didn't fix the problem, charged for removal of the toilet that didn't have to be removed, made me experience the worst customer service I've ever received, and then tried to charge even more to complete the job....FAILED!
I will never recommend Sal's to anyone because of this experience and will always WARN anyone that asks to stay away from them.

Pedro from SAL's was very efficient and helped us with such great service. Our water heater was broken, he came had a talk. Not only did Pedro wait for me to check on our warranty situation, he also gave us some sound advice /rationale. In the end he helped installed a brand new water heater the same day and my husband was very pleased. I also want to mention that the lady whom took my call in the morning was courteous, when we would get cut, she was be sure to call me back. I would highly recommend SAL's again!!

This is the second time I have used Sal's plumbing and I couldn't be happier. They came out on a windy cold Saturday night to snake my kitchen line. Unfortunately after several attempts it still had a partial blockage. Thomas came back on Sunday with a bigger snake and fixed the problem and he only charged me for one visit. He also advised me on a long term solution to the problem and provided a very reasonable quote. Overall I have found Sal's people very honest and focused on excellent customer service.

So I have to admit that a first impression is important to me and the first time I called Sal's I got the best one. The younger girl who answered the phone was extremely professional and caring at the same time, she made it feel like I was calling a family member. She listened and cared about the issues I had with the house. We made the appointment and yet again I was mind blown on how lucky this company is to have the best employees working for them. I had the privilege to have Thomas look at my aunts house and fix a pipe under the house. He explained everything in detail to what needed to be done, he showed me photos and made sure I didn't have any questions. He really went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the work. He educated me in a field where we all know they RIP people off. With Thomas he was professional with the price too. Also the materials they use are name brand, in other words built to last. I will definitely be using Sal's as my go to plumbers. I also already shared them on my social media because trustworthiness is hard to find. I TRUST Sal's and Thomas.

Sunday morning shower clog was a nightmare. I was pleasantly surprised to get prompt phone pickup and one-hour appointment. My 15-foot snake didn't do the job, so Sal's Plumbing did a 80-foot snake job across the house and the charge was a reasonable $165. This included going under the house, digging, and checking all the available clean-outs. For far easier clogs, I've been charged $130 by other companies, so I know $165 is reasonable. The information was accurate and the charges are in the ballpark. Best yet, there was no Sunday price gouging. So I can give Sal's a recommendation.

THE BEST!!!! I had my bathroom sink clogged and contacted Sals. Gentleman from his company came on time and assessed the situation very thoroughly. Then he gave me options. The fix was very detailed and thorough and he had all the tools in his van. Now the sink is super smooth and drains perfectly. Honesty, high skills, reasonable price, great work. Luis SAVED us ! We had what can only be described as a plumbing emergency as we were packing our car to leave on a 4 day vacation. There was water flowing down the driveway, and water covering the downstairs bathroom floor. We called our usual plumber who said they could come out tomorrow. This was not a come out tomorrow kind of problem. We checked reviews of local plumbing companies and took a chance on Sal's Plumbing Company. Boy, are we glad we did !!! Luis was there, (in a mask!) within an hour and a half. He showed us where our sewer line had collapsed, 50+ feet down our driveway. Luis explained everything to us, and he said he would take care of everything. Before we left, he gave us an accurate quote. He communicated with our house sitter and our elderly neighbors, as a portion of their driveway had to be dug up as well. He sent us videos and texts regarding their progress. He even hooked up a bypass pipe, so that our house sitter would have access to the bathroom and shower while the work was being done. When we returned 4 days later, the entire site was spotless. The sewer pipes all had new liners. Luis returned to show me with a camera, exactly had been done. Excellent work, We will only be calling Sal's Plumbing from now on!

My gas was shut off last week due to a gas leak. Unfortunately, I didn't figure it out until Saturday. I looked on Yelp for reputable plumbers that handled leaking gas pipes. Sal's plumbing popped up, and as I've actually used them a couple times before with good results, I called them.

Luis came out in the pouring rain to assess the situation. He said we had a substantial leak but he wouldn't know how bad it was till he was able to come back out on Monday morning with the proper equipment. We made the best of the situation till then. Monday it was still raining and Luis and his partner arrived and got to work. They had to do some digging to find where the leaks were and repair them. Later in the day the Gas Co. came back out, signed off on the repair, and turned my gas back on,

Because my hot water heater was on its last leg, I decided to have them come back the next day and put in a new one before I had another disaster. Overall, I was very impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail. They definitely know what they're doing and I would not hesitate to call them again. The repair was costly, but necessary. The new hot water heater was expensive, because of the kind I had to get, but I did some checking and I feel their prices are competative. I would definitely recommend Sal's Plumbing, especially Luis and his partner.
