David, the tech that came by to diagnose my water heater today, was an absolute gem. He was honest and didn't try to sucker me into spending hundreds to thousands of dollars for a simple fix. The prices he quoted for repair and replacement were very competitive. He was well mannered and very articulate in explaining what was wrong with my system.

Couldn't get past the super nice receptionist over the phone. So I guess I can't really rate the company.

Danny was great!  Our water main broke and he came day of to fix the problem.  He is very knowledgeable and did such a great job!  He stayed and work late to finish the job so we can have running water again.  We definitely recommend and will be a returning customer.

I just want to leave a good review about Shellback plumbing I called regards my sink being clogged and large leak on the ceiling of my garage . Irvin the Plummer thoroughly inspected my clogged sink and leak told me the problem!!  He unclogged probably stopped the leak because it's not leaking anymore.. referred me to a water restoration company and they would fix it through my home insurance !! And they came in  ASAP !! Thank you again

Doug is amazing. He's courteous, his prices are reasonable and he hustles. The dude moves with purpose so he arrives faster than you expected and gets the job done faster than you expected and your problem goes away faster than you expected.

And he's eager to answer questions. Don't understand how that water heater works? He'll explain it to you. Got questions about the simple repairs? He'll describe the parts you need and suggest you handle it so you can save the money that it would cost him to do it.

In an industry populated by slackers and dingbats Doug is a shining gem.

Third time called - first time reviewed.

I wish I had done this sooner. The first two experiences were stellar - but the third took the cake.

Doug had tenant proofed a rental we had and came to our new home to change out some faucets and showers.

I had been noticing moisture on the garage floor. I did not know where it was coming from until we had a plumber assigned by the home warranty come out to diagnose.

The home warranty told me because it involved cutting into plywood - they would not help us.

I called Doug and he responded quickly. In short order he had the wall cut open, straight lines so the plywood could be put back, and the pipe replaced.

It was cast iron and very heavy. Doug is always meticulous and God Fearing - which is rare in today's day and age.

He works as if it were his home and only does what is necessary, never over selling.

There are a lot of hack plumbers in the world and if any tell you they charge by the job and not hourly plus parts, be weary.

Doug is a straight line plumber and works with conviction.

Had a leaky pipe in the ceiling of my kitchen. I'm in a condo so I wasn't sure if it was my pipe or my neighbors.  We played phone tag for a few days to schedule an appt. He came out and fixed it in under an hour. Really liked him, reminded me of my pa:)

When you have an older house with plumbing issues you get concerned about cost and repairs.  
I reviewed different plumbing companies through Yelp and made a couple calls to find the person who listened to my problem and offered direct answers.......and this is what I got from Doug at Clearwater Plumbing.    
After sending him a picture of my shower he told me the labor + parts cost for the repair......so we made the appointment.
He not only showed in the time slot he gave us but the cost was right on the mark.
If you're looking for a plumber.....stop here and call Doug.

Came out quickly, and did a thorough and professional job!  Tyler was great - and fixed an issue that 2 previous plumbers we have used could not

After 18 years at the Casa de Stevenson Ranch, the kitchen drain was plugged.  Time to whip out the snake/auger with its 25 foot length.
Fast forward:  one hour later and my ego had a reality check:  I needed a plumber.

Decisions...decisions.  Call the smell good plumber or check out the other reviews on Yelp.  Fortunately, I reviewed Yelp.

Doug, the plumber, arrived the following day using his industrial sized 65 foot snake (clearly bigger is better) to clear the impacted drain.  The service call was $99 which was VERY reasonable.  It had taken Doug almost an hour from start to finish.

One thing to note:  This is a one-man operation and this man is good.  Yes, you can call another plumbing contractor that may up-sell you unnecessary parts or service.  However, if you want someone who knows what he is doing, and does it well, I suggest you call Ckearwater Plumbing Service when you need an honest plumber

P.S.  If you leave a message on Doug's answering machine and don't get a reply, call back after a reasonable period of time.  This happened to us when we did not get a call-back.  Doug says the machine is not reliable.  Fortunately, this plumber IS reliable

I always expect to get hustled when I call a plumber, so after looking up plumbers in Yelp, I decided to give these guys a shot.  Doug showed up to install a dishwasher, I gotta say I was very pleased with him.  There ended up being issues after the installation with a clogged pipe that he could not have foreseen.  After calling him  few days later, he told me a few ideas to check out and basically walked me through the process.  He said he could come out by asked why when really I could do this myself and save a few bucks.  He was more interested in helping me out than coming out and making a quick buck.  So I was very pleased with that.

About a month later, my water heater started to leak.  I called Doug and he answered a ton of questions I had about water pressure regulator, the water heater leak, the pressure release valve, etc etc etc.  Bottom line, Doug help me diagnose the problem and fix it over the phone.  This took a lot of time; and I have no doubt that another plumber would have come over   and   hustled me for at least a few hundred bucks.  Not Doug!  he was just happy to help.

I would give 10 Stars, go with Doug, you will be very happy!  He is honest, helpful and will absolutely not try and squeeze you.

My husband and I moved to Valencia 2 years ago and found Doug from YELP.  He knew what he was doing and we never had any problems with the work and solved our plumbing problems.  He also offered advice and tips we never knew as long time home owners.

Clearwater Plumbing is FABULOUS! I should have called them earlier.
We had Home Warranty come clear the drain 3 times! And they wanted to do a bunch of work that Doug said we don't need.
He went over and above doing our job (he had to go on the roof through the vent because we don't have a clean out drain)
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND CLEARWATER PLUMBING!!

Doug is the epitome of excellent service.  From the initial phone call, it even seemed like was giving me tips on how to fix it myself!  It was pretty obvious that Doug was concerned about how to fix the problem and not my wallet.  Within the hour, our island sink problem was fixed, then he fixed an issue that the previous plumber left! On top of that, he didn't mind telling me about the ins-and-outs of plumbing.  I wonder if he takes apprentices?

Our hot water heater quit on us yesterday, and we didn't know where to turn.   I saw the reviews for Clearwater Plumbing and decided to give them a call.  I was very impressed that my phone call was answered immediately.   Doug was great, answered all my questions and gave a very fair price.   Within a few hours our hot water was replaced and we're back in business!

What a pleasure to do business with! No hidden charges, just upfront business, and took time out explaining the whole process while he worked.
Went out of his way to come on a Saturday, even though it was short notice to him, because he knew I needed the work done quickly.  Showed up on time, and reviewed the parts list with me, no overpriced fittings, like I have experienced in the past.  Estimate matched the actual work he performed, and working together with him, made me wiser in the area of what to do, and watch out for.
Project was completed within 4 hours; installed and plumbed a tub drain, shower controls, and moved three water receptacles, while replacing old fittings with new ones.
Looks awesome and he tested everything before leaving.  Highly recommend Doug & his company; very down to earth attitude.

I just realized that I never wrote a review for Doug. I don't have much to say except - FANTASTIC ALL AROUND.  Great service, fair price, realistic.  You would never go wrong with Doug.

Most recently we called Doug to unclog the drains in our backyard, after another plummer told us basically that we would have to follow the drains to the front of the house - that would require concrete to be broken up. The same plummer also said you cannot snake drains, and Doug of course did for us. In fact, the problem was minor and he finished the job quickly.

I highly recommend Doug and Clearwater.

They are great..very professional..and  more importantly honest with work and pricing..unlike other plumbing company's where they try to empty your bank account and take your nuts too..and btw Doug the plumber is a funny guy..5 stars
Update..like I said before..Doug of Clearwater plumbing very straight up honest with his work and pricing..my mom is so happy with his work..she celebrated by going to the casino...at the penny slots..but seriously great plumber ..10 stars..

He was really helpful in not only clearing the nasty clog I had in my sink (problem was actually at the street but he was able to clear it after a few tries), but he also explained other smaller issues around my condo that I was able to fix personally and saved me money.

His rates were fair and was a really nice guy to work with.  He was very responsive and was able to come by the same day as called.  I would go to him again for any future work I need done on my rental unit.

Doug recently replaced our water heater and was truly a pleasure to work with. He was professional and informative, had fantastic reviews, and most importantly, provided me with the best price I could find in the entire valley. He was thoughtful in helping us save money while still keeping to California's codes. He never tried to overcharge us for extra items like our home warranty's company did. He even did some extra work just to be a nice guy and help us out. It's so nice to finally find an honest plumber- this man deserves your money. Great work by Doug! I tried everything but I couldn't figure out why my tank was leaking. Well, Doug figured out that there was a part which could not seal. I had to get a new toilet but Doug procured one from his supplier and replaced it in short order. Thanks again, Doug. You're my plumbing guy!

I was visiting my mom when a filter connection broke under the sink. Water was flooding the kitchen. We turned off the water and called him. He talked me through the problem for 20 min. Who does that anymore??  We fixed the problem together. He is amazing. Since he didn't come out, he didn't charge me. I told my mom to write his info down. Called and no one answered.  The voicemail message said to leave a message or send a text.  I sent a detailed text message with the work that I needed to be completed and no one returned my call or text.

Amazing service.   Doug is so kind and professional and his pricing is very fAir.   Highly highly recommend.  He installed a water line for ice maker.  Best Buy came out and just had to connect to valve and wouldn't do it since valve was under sink and not behind frig.  This was the proper plumbing way.  Ridiculous of Best Buy.  Called Doug.  He came right out and hooked me up. No charge.  Amazing service.  Shame on Best Buy delivery.

Doug is the TRUTH! He is everything that the other great reviews state about him. I called about an issue with a gas pipe that had been placed prior to us purchasing our home. It had been run to the rear of our home to what used to be a gas grill that we no longer wanted. Called Doug on a Saturday, hoping to be placed in his queue first thing Monday morning but received a call on Sunday, a great surprise. He asked me to send a pic so that he could assess the cost. He showed up on time and finished within 25minutes including the advice he gave that helped us to make our own informed decision. It was so refreshing because it is so tough to find a great plumber, though other are out there. We have surely found our plumber. He was informative, honest, kind and even humorous.

I had Doug come out to fix a couple issues with the house I am selling.  He gave me a quote over the phone after I sent him a couple pictures of the problem.  He showed up on time and was kind, efficient, and honest.  He fixed the issues and ended up charging me less than the original quote.  It is hard to find reliable honest plumbers, but I have and I will be a lifelong client of Clearwater Plumbing.

My mom needed a bidet installed on her toilet. I attempted it on my own only to get leaks everywhere! I fought with it for an hour and finally came to my senses that I need a professional. After I contacted Clearwater, I received a timely response and clear communication as to when Doug could arrive to assist with my major dilemma! He arrived within the estimated time and was extraordinarily honest. It was recommended that he uninstall the bidet because the plastic hardware is not good enough quality and I will continue to have problems. I was shocked at his honesty and fair pricing. Give him a call for your plumbing needs!

We called Doug at Clearwater plumbing Services yesterday and he was able to come out this morning to install 2 new toilets we had purchased. He was prompt and made changing out the toilets look like child's play. There was no mess and he was very professional. We will use him again for Any plumbing needs

Doug is my new go-to for any plumbing need.  He was on time (actually a few minutes early).  He doesn't talk your ear off and gets right to work.  I've always been skeptical of people who charge by the hour.  No need to worry about Doug's work ethic.  He's in, gets the job done right, and out.  Needed six stems replaced in three faucets, a shower adjusted (hot water wasn't working) and a tub snaked.  Total time 45 min.  I swear it would have taken me at least 4 hours.
