I Raymond Gray come from a large background of plumbers. My great grandfather and grandfather were both pipe fitters working on military ships for many years. My grandfather got into the Union after leaving the navy back in the 1960s. My grandfather eventually went into residential, commercial service and repair. My father was born in 1961 and as a young boy my grandfather pounded plumbing in his brain and it stuck. I was born in 1977 and remember at the age of 8 years old crawling under homes playing in the dirt and watching my dad do repairs. I started really doing repairs when I was about 12 years old. I hated plumbing but in a poor family you have to work and make money so I learned a trade. In high school I dropped out got a GED and left home. I started working with my dad again in 2001. I started A-1 Total Service Plumbing in 2004 and have never looked back. I work with my dad everyday. I demand the best from my plumbers so I may provide the best to my customers

Once again, I'm completely blown away by the timeliness, professionalism, friendliness and service excellence I've received from A-1 Total Service (Plumbing) Construction, Inc.!
Dean arrived on time, FIXED my sink and spigot issues and installed a new toilet for me. I'm SOOO HAPPY I no longer have to deal with my original 70 yr old toilet!
I can't say enough good things about Dean and this company! They're GREAT, and I will call them EVERY TIME I have any plumbing issues. They're the answer for any & all plumbing problems!
Do not hire!!! Ridiculously overpriced and not accurate. Quoted $4200 for $800 worth of work.
We paid $465 to determine the general location of the leak. They said the leak was in the wall. Then they quoted us $4200 for a simple repair. We denied and hired another plumber to do the same service for $800!! When the new plumber came he found that the leak is not in the wall and actually in the floor. I understand not having pin-point leak detection but it was in a completely different spot!! Very unsatisfied and feel scammed out of the $470.
Roots were growing into our main sewer line causing the plumbing to back up within the house. Mario came out to do a free estimate and we decided to move forward with getting rid of the roots and installing a new liner in the main sewer line. Mario was great in giving me my best options and answering all my questions on the entire process.
Esteban and his team came out and completed the work in 2 days like they estimated and now plumbing is working out great! Esteban did a awesome job in giving me status updates via text throughout the entire process. A-1 did a fantastic job on this project, and I will certainly be calling them again for all my major plumbing needs. Thank you!

Jose Reyes and Eric Cuevas were fantastic. They arrived promptly and did a great job problem solving my issue. They brought out all the equipment to service my toilet. They were able to unclogged it in less than an hour. They were professional and friendly. I would highly recommend them too. I always trust A-1 for all my needs
The service provided was fabulous thru and thru from the staff on the phone to the technicians themselves. Price is fair. We had a gas leak. Can't thank them enough for being so responsive and efficient.
Typically, I don't give many reviews for services rendered but Guillermo from A1 Total Service did a fantastic job in trouble shooting my Rinnai tankless water heater issue. No one else was able to fix the problem, but Guillermo said he enjoyed the challenge. He was very nice, respectful and professional and really addressed all the issues I had very quickly and efficiently. He actually solved an issue several other plumbers could not resolve. The estimates they provided were reasonable and the estimate was the cost so no hidden extra costs were added. Just very happy with the results and Guillermo did a great job.
I had an emergency sink lead when I tried to play plumber on my own. I called and was able to get service same day. David arrived and fixed the leak. There was no upselling or pressure. He showed me the problem and fixed it. I wholeheartedly recommend this company for any and all plumbing needs.
Jose and Erik came and worked on getting the gas line to our stove capped. They were quick with their work and did what we asked. I appreciate their knowledge and help.

This was my first time calling in a professional plumber at my new place in downtown l.a. This company is professional and offers great prices. Bernardo repaired my clogged bathroom sink expertly, quickly, and in such a professional manner. Both Sylvia and Lexie, the dispatchers who helped me set up my appointment were great as well. Very professional, helpful, and friendly. I will be calling them again for any plumbing needs in the future.
We had a bathroom clog around 6:30 PM on a rainy Friday evening and I needed to find a plumber to help before I left town the next morning. Called multiple 24 hour service companies, none of which were able to help until the next day.
Called A-1 and they said that Bernie would come to our home in 60-90 minutes. He arrived as scheduled and was very pleasant and helpful, inquiring about the history and trying to ensure he understood the problem instead of just the symptoms. He cleared the clog without trying to up-sell services.
I look forward to using A-1 and hopefully Bernie to resolve some of the more significant plumbing renovations in the near future.

I have a property with original 1980s era plumbing fixtures which needed updating. The worry from a potential flood was keeping me up at night. When the bathroom sink shut off valves stopped working and the old toilet started leaking, it was time to replace sooner rather than later. Edigar and Guadalupe replaced both the bathroom and kitchen sink valves along with the supply lines. They also replaced the kitchen sink faucet, the toilet, and the garbage disposal in the condo unit. I was surprised at how quickly the project was completed from start to finish. Both techs were very competent and efficient. The updated fixtures look great! Now I can get a good night's sleep. A1 is definitely highly recommended.
Jose Reyes was awesome. He was able to get here earlier than intended and he got the job done as quickly as possible. He had to trouble shoot but that was not a problem for Jose. He is a pro and very respectful. I will call these guys again in the future sure.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, FROM EXPERIENCE.
I first called asking for a free estimate, the operator explained it would be a $45 estimate charge and anything over $200 in repairs, the $45 will be taken off. I explained in detail, that I had a foul odor coming from underneath the house near a restroom.
I agreed she schedule a technician to come out between 8-10, several minutes later receive a call stating he will NOT be able to come out until 11am. I was okay since I had already was expecting them to come.
The technician came out and he was shown the area where the foul odor was coming from and without looking at the leak which was 8 feet away from my crawl space, apparently took some pictures in
home without me or the wife knowing and of course WITHOUT my consent of my crawl space and my restroom and went back to his truck.
He was there for several minutes and returns with his tablet of a bill for $455 saying, just to crawl underneath will be this amount. The technician said $455 plus the fee to repair and parts. I told him how wrong this was and that's what the $45 is for but never mention a drivers fee.
This was never mention during my initial call and should have been explained as I explained over
The phone. I recalled the company after making payment of $45 fee and was told by the assist mgr that the fee is a driving fee, and not an estimate. So I wasted my time to have them come out and take pictures of NOT the problem but to show me a bill of the price just to assess the problem. How ridiculous is this. The assist mgr said she would remove the $45 fee but I told her, no but to ensure she tells the owner or the manager of this issue. It's not the $45 fee if it was an estimate, I can understand, but to come out and waste my time, their time which could have been easily said over the phone. This company needs to be truthful and forthright and candid with the fee's and not.
The water heater at my parents' house sprung an unrepairable, slow leak. I checked with 3 different plumbing companies and ended up selecting A1. They provided me with an estimate for a heater replacement (which was comparable to those from others)
The staff at A1 (from customer service staff, (Lexie), Manager (Alex) provided exceptional and prompt service; always polite/cordial with follow up as needed via phone, text and email.
The service tech (Jose) was prompt and completed the job in a timely manner. The tenant was pleased with his professionalism as well. I would highly recommend them for your water heater issues/needs.
Not sure why my name shows up as being in San Francisco. The work was conducted in the Boyle Heights District of Los Angeles.

I give A-1 Totak Service Plumbing 5 stars. Firstly, A-1 had someone out within 2 hours of my call. David responded, gave a full inspection to outline his work detail and a fair price quote.
I give David and Brian 5 stars. David and his co-technician Brian were just AMAZING. They were professional and got right to work with full understanding of what needed to be done. All my anxieties vanished due to their friendly demeanor and professionalism.
They installed all piping and the proper unit for my new refrigerator's water and ice-maker systems. David pointed out a fact that I did not know about my new marvelous LG refrigerator: It actually has two separate ice making systems: one for the freezer and one for the fridge's water/ice dispensing system. Great for entertaining.

Toilet flooded in the middle of the night and had to look for an emergency plumbing company to come and fix the toilet clog. Service technician Jose R was very thorough in completing the service and explaining the reason why clogging occurred. He also did check the rest of the toilets to see if they were functioning properly. Great friendly & efficient service!

Contacted this company for a second-opinion and estimate for pipe relining at our 70+ year-old home. The field manager almost forgot the appointment he made to come to do the estimate, and ended up arriving close to two hours late -- he probably would not have arrived if I hadn't sent a text message asking if he was still coming.
Then, it took some four days to get his written estimate for the work needed. Although it was about 1/2 the price of the first estimate we received, it was also 1/3 higher than the one we accepted from a competitor.
I'm sure the work they do is very good -- they wouldn't stay in business if it weren't, but the poor initial contact and subsequent follow-up was less than professional in my opinion. When I informed him that we were going with a lower-cost service, he suddenly wanted a chance to talk and possibly offer a lower price. I did not return the call.
As a sales professional in my own right, I don't play games like this. I give my best price the first time. If it's not good enough, I don't sweat it, because I know both my quality and the fact that there will always be someone who is willing to lowball my price for whatever reason. I appreciate other professional salespeople, but if I can't get the same level of integrity from another salesman, it gives me a reason to hit the pause button.

Called A-1 about a Hot water heater issue. They sent a young man by the name of Christopher who was responsive, professional and very helpful. Since I could not be on site Christopher kept me in he loop with photos, text messages and responses to my calls. He was also polite and professional with the tenant. I would recommend both A-1 Total Service Plumbing and Christopher to anyone needing plumbing help. The fact that they guarantee their work means a lot to me. I am willing to pay a little more for a company who is professional, responsive, communicates, completes the work on a timely basis and guarantees their work.
Used A-1 plumbing again. Dean was the service tech. Doesn't matter who they send, they always deliver. He explained in detail what was needed to make things right. And gave me an estimate. I had a clogged drain and a leak under bathroom sink. Prior to their visit their office calls you that they are coming and so does the service tech. I had an appt for 1-3 and they came out about 3 hours early. A job well done again. Thanks Dean and A-1.

Very happy with A-1 -- my building has used them for both small and large jobs, and Edgar and Francisco took great care of me today as we had an urgent plumbing issue. Needed a new Hot Water Heater and found A-1 online. From the initial call to the final wrap-up: the whole experience flowed effortlessly w/ excellence. The dispatcher was courteous and a delight to speak with. Mr. Alexis E. was the service repair man who showed up almost instantaneously. I had a different company show up for a simple drain. They ran their snake and told me it gets stuck, meaning the pipe must be broken. They quickly ran an $8000 bill for us to use different machines to see if problem can we solved ... John from A-1 Total Service Plumbing was referred to me by a friend, he opened my drain two days later, no problem! I will only contact this company next time I have any issues. Thank you
Not cheap but they do fantastic work and I'm highly satisfied with the work from Jose Reyes and his partner Erik cuevas. Most plumbers in LA suck and will scam but these guys show up on time and are extremely professional.

We had what was believed to be a moderate sewer line issue turn into a major one when the line under our driveway was discovered to be severely deteriorated by cracks and roots, causing our line to frequently clog. The initial company quoted us over $18K and proposed pipe bursting in two locations, while also digging 2 holes into our driveway. Two other plumbing companies proposed the same or similar work with 1-2 holes in the driveway at lower but similar pricing.
We called A-1, and Mario came out twice. Instead of doom and gloom about the driveway, he exuded confidence and explained that he could shoot a liner in the pipe without digging any holes. Even better, this method would cost almost half the price as the other guys. We were skeptical and worried but took a chance, and within a day, Mario, Jose, and the crew had successfully lined the pipe and paved the trench that was dug by the other guys. Although this was costly, we are very satisfied with the quick work and diligence of Mario and the team!
I had no hot water and Dave came out to my place on the same day. He was nice and professional and I can't recommend him enough.
I had this same issue many times before but the other plumber who came couldn't figure out what was wrong.
Within minutes, Dave diagnosed the problem and explained why it happened. He showed me how I could prevent it in the future and described how plumbing works in a building like mine. He didn't even charge me for his time.
I work for a management company and have many old buildings that always have problems. I've called so many plumbers for help but either the job is too big and complicated or they can't make it out the same day. So far, A1's been able to handle every job I've thrown at them. My go to guys, Alex and Jennifer have made handling these jobs so much easier too. I have a lot things to take care of in a day between properties but these guys are on it. I can call once and leave it to them to make sure the tech shows up and handles it. Thank you guys!

They are super helpful. I definitely recommend talking to manager Alex. He goes above and beyond to help you with your plumbing issues. I have used this company multiple times and I plan to use them in my future plumbing problems.
DIY project gone wrong , so I decided to shop around for pricing on a new service line from our water meter to our hose bib. They were not only cheaper than the two other companies who offered the same type of job (trench less torpedo boring) and same type of poly line, shut off valve and pressure regulator. They not only did that for me, they also tied in a new separate line to our other water hose in the our front yard for the same price. Very happy with their work.
Outstanding and quick service. Estaban Muniz from A-1 went above and beyond to do great and thorough work with clear communication throughout. Cannot recommend stronger.
My Kitchen sink backed up. A-1 Total Service Plumbing showed up right away on a holiday and fixed the problem. Jose was nice, very professional and very knowledgeable about the problem. 2nd time using A1 and again very thankful they picked up the phone on a Sunday and by Monday the work was completed and we had Hot water again....they're the best!
A1 Total Plumbing is my go-to. I was having some backup issues in one of my units due to root incursion. They laid out my options and pricing, helped me stay in budget and got the job done right away.
There was some issues a few weeks later with some of the concrete they poured and when I called them to let them know, they had someone out fixing the very next day. Great service all around!
My bathroom sink was not draining so I called A-1, they sent someone right away. Gus was super nice and very knowledgeable, he walked me through all the steps he was taking to fix my sink. My sink needed further unclogging which scared me, but he assured me he would get it fixed for me. Also, If any problems were to occur that I could call him day or night which I really appreciated!
Robert and his assistant arrived ahead of schedule and made quick work fixing our sink. GREAT work... Thank you, we will give you a call for any additional needs.

I had yet another great experience with A-1! They have helped me several times with a clogged shower. I had to call them again, and as usual, they came the same day. Andrew had never been to my house before, but he was able to look up the electronic files from previous visits on his tablet and get down to business quickly. Andrew solved the problem in less than 30 minutes! These guys are awesome!
Reached out to A1 on 9/18, within a few hours Dave showed up and snaked the Main line. He ran a camera in the lines and found more issues than initially called for. Letting him know this was our 2nd or 3rd time this year having same issue. He was able to locate the problem, though costly went forward with his recommendations. Initial call was on Saturday, Dave did what he could to hold us till Monday when he and his colleagues arrived to begin some major work. Dave, Chris and another pro are very professional, knowledgeable, courteous and completely thorough. Restoration was required before his team could work under the home, job took longer than expected. But in the long run, it's worth it. Job completed 9/23.
I simply cannot say enough about Dave and his team. Great job guys, and thank you. We have also scheduled to have A1 conduct a annual maintenance to clean out sewer line.

Our bathtub drain has been clogged and Jose Reyes came out to help. He was professional and polite and provided us with an honest appraisal. He educated us on the condition of the pipes and wrote out what we needed to be replaced. I would recommended their services.
Water backup in 2nd floor shower room. Called A-1 and immediately connected and was explained the process and fees. You hear horrible stories about plumbing services and as such I was concerned regarding made up issues or inflated pricing upon service completion. Our plumber Dave Diaz arrived within the hour, inspected, and ran us through the job process. Dave was professional, down to earth, and by no means a salesman type. Dave fixed the issue and explained everything as he worked on the repair. I won't sit here and bolster about if they are the best company or not but that is based on the fact that I will not need to ever resort to another company to find out. A1 total service was quick to answer my call and all of my many questions. Jose, my service technician, was very profesional, thorough, and promptly got to work and fixed what needed to be fixed at a fair price. I was left feeling reassured and was relieved to know that there are truthful people with integrity and great work ethic as Jose demonstrated. Jose verified his work with pictures and explained all work completed under the kitchen in the crawl space. Jose was able to fix my kitchen's leak on the same day that I called in and at a reasonable price. Great experience with this company.

I've had this shower head drip in our main bedroom bathroom for about a month. It got to the point where YouTube University was not going to help me fix this issue. I google searched plumber near meand after calling 5 to 7 different unresponsive plumbing companies I came across A1 Plumbing. I left a voicemail and I was contacted back within minutes. It was great to hear that they would be able to respond to this issue same day and within two hours time. I was assigned service technician Guillermo and Anthony. They arrived within about an hour upon excepting the agreement and began to diagnose the situation, which turned out to be a faulty valve handles. The process was explained to me in a very clear manner and he provided options for to prevent future issues. Both Guillermo and Anthony were very helpful and showed care in their approach. The total work was quoted and there were no surprises at the end of it all. The drip is fixed!! Thanks to the reliable service of Guillermo and Anthony at A1 Total Service Plumbing, I no longer have to worry about this issue. The experience was great and painless and I would recommend this to anyone who needs something small or any large work to be done, this company should definitely be considered.

We have used A-1 total before for a couple of water heaters. Had no problem with them. Yesterday a sink knob broke so we called them. The guy came out, told us what sink set we need and quoted us $175 to install. We got the parts and called for instalToday a different guy came and quoted us $375, with no guarantee that price won't go up if they need to detach the counter from the wall. Now granted, there was only a small access under the sink...but the guy could barely get down on his knees. I had very little confidence he could do the job. Especially if he can't even get up off the floor. I told him we were regular customers and that price is excessive to switch a sink knob. He said he would call his boss to see what they could do. After he came back, he stood firm on the price without guarantee it won't go up. I asked him to leave. We will not be using them again.
Fast forward 2 hours later...and REAL plumbers came out and are working within the constrictions and only charging me $225!
Addendum: I saw note left by owner. I will not be calling. He can call me if he's that concerned. I have not heard from him.
Esteban did a great job replacing my leaky faucet with a new one. He was curteous and made sure I was comfortable with the results.

This was an emergency call out, no hot water to the building, due
to substantial leak in the underground parking.
Edgar was the Plumber.
15 minutes he had the job completed.

Had a last minute draining issue and they sent Edgar out within 30 minutes (even though he was on his way home) and he was able to snake it out through the clean out quickly. He was very nice and professional. We would use them again.

This review is long overdue. I live in an old house, and I had four major sewage backups within a year (this has been a continual issue but got worse over the last year). The latest backup occurred late on a Saturday night, and A1 was the only plumber who was willing to come out and didn't charge a ridiculous amount to do so. George, the lead plumber snaked my main, then found an additional clog none of the previous plumbers checked for. They also offered as part of the cost to run a camera to show my problem areas a few days later.
Well, that day came, and they found:
* clay pipe that had never been replaced
* fix deteriorating cast iron kitchen line that no one else had been able to access without having to tear apart my foundation (don't ask).
They fixed the kitchen line by descaling it and then running this sleeve through the damaged pipe, effectively turning it into a new pipe. And they replaced that pesky clay pipe with the proper ABS.
It wasn't cheap, but it was a fraction of what it would have been even a few years ago. Everybody on the team, particularly Marios Sr and Jr always kept me in the loop and were super helpful. This is the first time I've ever felt confident about my plumbing in the more than 20 years I have lived in my house!
So, I recommend them highly and am thankful that chance and desperation sent me their way. Special props to Alex for coordinating everything.

I was having a party for Labor Day and my kitchen sink started clogging up. I called A1 and they sent Edgar out in a few short hours! He opens up the drain and released all of the gunk and oil and he even cleaned the concrete with a water hose, to be sure there was no residue left over. Amazing service, amazing prices, amazing company!
They got here within 30 minutes, fixed my pipes so fast , got everything cleared out within a hour!
Great price too.
I will forsure call A1 total service plumbing if I ever need plumbing service again, highly recommended :)

My experience with A1TSP was outstanding. I have (maybe should say had) my regular plumber but decided to get a 2nd opinion & glad I did. These guys are top notch. Jose saved the day!
A hose in our bathroom broke, so we had to turn off our water main... on a 90 degree Saturday... during a pandemic... with a toddler. I called in, and the dispatcher was helpful and easy to communicate with. Within an hour, Jose was at our door.
He gave me a quick breakdown of what needed to be fixed and what it would cost, and then he got right to work. Everything was fixed within the next hour, and now my toilet is good as new.
I love how easy it all was. I had called around for any plumber in the neighborhood, but since it was a weekend, I ended up leaving a lot of voicemails. A-1 answered right away, let me know when Jose was near, and got the job done. Thank you!
A1 Total Service has been my plumbing choice for the last 10 years. Once again they went the extra mile to locate the parts that I needed for the job and then work with my schedule and that of my tenants to make it happen.
They have always been courteous and concise with professional invoices and estimates. Their prices are reasonable and They've never tried to take advantage or inflate the price.

Called around 930pm about kitchen faucet. Office called me 1st thing in morning. George arrived happy helpful n ready 2 work. Said my faucet was history n went and got me a new one. A-1 overcharges so watch yourself. They are quick to respond and leave things clean but very pricey. They charged $750 to repair a easy access pipe that took less than 30minutes. They will gouge you and make things appear more urgent than they really are to get you to approve repair. I would not use them again.
First the good news. The guy came out the same day. It was not urgent but also nice to get my very small job taken care of quickly. My job was a pretty simple a one water filter change, however it had to be taken apart to get to it. It only had clips to remove and a couple of tubings to remove to replace it all and put back into place. The guy was nice. He was up and down my elevator like 5 times so the job seemed to take longer then it was. Getting things in the truck I guess. They come out for 45.00 and are supposed to apply to your job. I was quoted 200.00., immediately on such a small thing. I am not that familiar with the process but I knew it was quick and quite easy for someone like him especially. I mean there prices are there prices. Really the price I got was very high. I was surprised but having to pay the 45., And start over I probably wouldn't be saving much, so they kinda got me to do this as I would have to pay again someone had he left. Anyway he did a nice job but wouldn't use this company again as he told me the savings are more on the bigger jobs and he doesn't set the prices yet he comes out to see it. So isn't he setting the price? You decide. I also had asked what they would charge for cleaning my water heater. He said something like 350. Well I did already have that done a few weeks ago for 155. A plumbing service as well. I should of called them but wanted to try a new company to see how there work is and they had great reviews. I should of waited for the other plumbers schedule to open up. That was the only drawback of why I didn't use them. Anyway it looks like they are double in price on my items or lists of things to do. Oh well live and learn.
These guys are really professional. I called them in an emergency situation when my normal plumber wouldn't answer. They came immediately, diagnosed the situation, and gave me a few options. The next morning they changed some leaking galvanized pipes with copper piping and related parts. They did a very good job, they were clean, and they were courteous to my tenants. The finished work looks like it will last 100 years.

I have a household of 8 and our toilet was backed up I googled plumbers near me and found this place Guillermo was here within a couple hours and he worked hard to clear the clog but it was too far out. He was here first thing the next morning on his day off with his boss they sent the camera down found the problem and Guillermo stood here until he cleared the pipe and made sure my household was good to go. Wow. What a great company. Wonderful staff from the initial operator to the technician that came to our home.
We called them to help with our water heater. Our pilot light had taken a second dump in just as many days. The operator was very professional in taking our information and keeping us informed as to the status of the technician's arrival. Their appointment process even sends text messages and updates which I found very helpful. I was so impressed that I even added an additional DIY task I had around the house to the service request.
When the technicians arrived, they were quick addressing both the water heater issue and the DIY task. They were very respectful and genuinely helpful. I could not have been more pleased with this company and will definitely have them back in my home the next time I have a plumbing issue.

I experienced my worst nightmare last month with sewer plumbing issues. This became a large job with a very high dollar amount attached to it. I was scared, unsure how to find the right company that would not rip me off, Unsure of the process and thought one more 2020 nightmare. However, After calling several plumbing companies I landed upon A1 total service plumbing. I am thankful that I did. My technician was David Diaz, a kind and thoughtful young man which meant the world of difference. My project ended up taking three days to complete however they took their time and did it right. I am recommending this company because I feel like the customer support, response time and ability to solve the problem was outstanding. I hope no one else has to go through a costly repair situation similar to what I did, however if you're needing professionals, David and A1 is the service I recommend.
Had a leak coming through my kitchen ceiling from the 2nd floor on a Sunday. Called them up and they were here within 45 min. Took the time to diagnose the issue, going through several steps to determine the source of the leak (upstairs toilet drain) before finalizing an estimate. Did a good job of controlling the leak and coming back Monday morning to complete the repairs before lunch time.

We had a serious plumbing issue that needed immediate attention. We called and they came over promptly to see what the problem was. We worked with Esteban and David Gutierrez and they worked diligently to resolve the issue. They fixed everything and were very modest and professional! Would definitely recommend not only A1 but also these two gentlemen to help with any of your plumbing issues.
We've used A-1 for about a year now, doing quarterly hydro jetting services at our commercial property. We've used other plumbers before but they don't come close to the customer service and expertise of the A-1 team. Their prices are very reasonable and better than the other companies I've called for an estimate. They are accommodating, and more importantly trustworthy, which is hard to come by these days.

A1 Total Service Pluming has been quick and efficient. I spoke to Alex on the phone regarding an issue I was having with my tankless water heater and he told me that it could be due to filtration service that needs to be flushed and filter that needs to be changed out. Alex was very courteous and explanatory over the phone. The next day, he had Jose sent out to check on the issue. Jose was very detailed and explained everything in detail of what was going on with my water heater. He fixed the problem and flushed the system. Everything works great now! Highly recommend their fast, reliable and detailed service.
I've been using this company for years, and I am finally getting around to leaving a review.
I love working with these guys. The staff is professional and shows up on time. They always clean up after jobs are complete. They stand by their work and offer a guarantee within about 30 days (I think this depends on the type of repair). I appreciate the good communication from their dispatch on to the techs.
In my job managing a large facility, one of the easiest parts of my job is calling these guys if we have an issue. They aren't the cheapest, but they are the best value all things considered.

I have waited a year to write this review because I want to be absolutely sure the problem is solved. I also want to use this review as a teaching moment to help people understand that there is always another way other than the highest bid. We kept a house after my parents died and decided to rent it, it was remodeled but the Plumbing work was minimal due to ignorance about cast iron pipe. When water would back up in the bathtub we would have the line run and we were good again until next time and then things began escalating and I began asking questions and the line was getting run once a month and at $145.00 a go that's hefty for a year. Then I was told about trenchless Plumbing where a synthetic sleeve is put inside of a pipe solving the problem, I was also told only two men in California can do this and Ray Gray was one of them. We had a appointment and he showed a hour early and since we have to travel to get there I was not happy having him there without us. We began talking and he seemed like a nice guy and Plumbing was second to his kids and house and how good his life is so he's personable . Then we talk about the bathroom and I'm told I'm not a candidate for trenchless Plumbing because the bathroom is vented wrong and the amount of work needed to fix this might as well just rip the whole thing out and start again and I can have a really nice bathroom for $40,000.00. Oh my heart. No way was I going to do this. He left and I began searching and I found a nice young plumber who said he could fix this problem and the bathroom was not vented wrong and he saw no need to rip out such a nice bathroom. He opened my pantry cut a hole and replaced 3 foot pipe. This worked beautifully and I paid $2,600.00 for this and the work was genius. Ray Gray has a group of people who work on jobs with him and they get paid seriously well. People do need to get paid but doing extra work and bringing everyone in to feed like sharks I object to. My bathroom didn't need to be replaced and I didn't need trenchless Plumbing either I just needed a honest plumber. This man is living in a 2 million dollar house in historic Pasadena so who's paying for this? We are. I told you he was affable and loves to talk. Here's one more lesson, most things are a easy fix that you can do yourself. We fixed a refrigerator and oven and A/C our selves by watching a video and ordering the part. If you can unplug a plug and unscrew a screw you can do this to.

I want you to know that I read everything you wrote and as I said I waited a year to write my review. I also said that I use reviews as a opportunity to teach. I could only repeat what you told me that day and I and the other people who were there remember it the same way. I am happy with the plumber I hired and feel he is exceptional in what he does and the person he is, yes he is licensed. He looked in the pipe with a camera and saw the clog, he knew he could fix it and I have used this man for other large projects and I feel he's fair and he's really good. He says the rest of the pipe looks good and I trust his word. You have other reviews that are so completely harsh, you have called people liars, slum lords and you are over the top aggressive. Some people love your work and others have a big problem and feel their dealings with you are bad. I chose someone else and I chose what was right for me. Analyzing something you didn't do is absolutely unbelievable to me and threatening to sue me for telling the truth is amazing. This was meant to teach and to help people understand that they have a choice but what you said that day about a really nice bathroom being $40,000. Was breathtaking and I had to wonder who is this person and why would he say such a thing? If you took this review as I meant it you would see my side of it and understand that this was not a happy meeting for me. I did not call you names, I did not use bad language and I did not as you say bash you, I talked about choice and cost and statements made. I feel my review is absolutely fair, I have not lied and as I say I can only repeat what you told me. You did not have a camera with you that day and we only talked about trenchless Plumbing which I was sold on by your office who spoke so highly about it, that procedure by itself was $5,500.00 but we couldn't do it, no whole house repipe was talked about just the bathroom, you gave me a name and number for Ferguson to buy the fixtures. I decided to try one more plumber and we went with it. This has worked beautifully for a year and I'm happy. I know your upset but this was not meant to be that. Once again I have not lied and this is what we talked about. Go in peace and take the criticism as constructive.

I have used A-1 Total Service Plumbing three times at two houses - each time their plumbers are very professional, courteous, effecient, and most importantly they know how to do their jobs. This last experience, at a rental home with problem plumbing, we had them Hydro Jet the clean-out to the street due to roots and compromised pipes.... they also had to get up on the roof to snake-out the bathroom pipes. It isn't magic.... but it also isn't easy - they figured out the problems and fixed them. A big Thank-You to Mario, Mario's assistant, David Diaz & Carlos !!!
Our drain got blocked late at night so we were not able to use our showers and toilets. My husband called A-1TSP the next morning. They came out within an hour or so as promised and called a head of time. Mario C., George C., and Jesse came out to access the situation. They were so nice and showed me the drain and roots in their camera monitor screen. They explained what the issue is and what the recommendation to solve the issue for the future. They offered a fair price and an interest-free plan also. They were not pushy at all. They seemed to all care about fixing the issue for us, even in the rain. I highly recommend A-1TSP. My husband and I live in a mobile home and we had a leak underneath our house. A previous plumber (that was not able to do the job because that company doesn't deal with PEX but were nice anyway) and a family member of mine mentioned we had a leak in our PEX plumbing and needed a manifold replaced. I made an appointment yesterday evening with A-1 and they were able to come between 4-6pm today. The receptionist was polite and helpful. Mike H. got here around 4:30pm. He was very friendly, direct and knowledgeable. Got the job done in less than an hour! I felt so bad he had to crawl underneath a dirty crawlspace. Anyway, come to find out when he and my husband were talking that he was a Navy Veteran also! My husband served also and both were DCs.

They said they would be at my home at a certain time for an estimate. I waited as long as I could and finally decided to leave. Before leaving I called them and told them not to come anymore. Then once I left they decided to show up at my home. Still I told my wife to show them around. still trying to give them a chance to work with us. Then once he was done looking he said he will be back from his truck with an estimate and never came back. I really do think he was scoping the house to see what they can steal. I really do not recommend them.

A-1 was so quick to respond to our piping issue. The woman I spoke with scheduled a date and a two hour window that the technicians would be at our house, but called again the morning of to give us an exact time that they would arrive. David and his partner (I can't remember his name, but he will know!) arrived both wearing masks, and were super kind and knowledgeable. They identified the issue, which ended up being a more complicated fix because they had to schedule time to turn the water off for our building, and returned on the scheduled time/date to solve it. They were respectful, knowledgeable and reliable, and customer service was great. Based on our experience, I would definitely recommend this company.

Late on a rainy Sunday, my sister and I realized that the toilets in both bathrooms of our mother's house were blocked. Then we noticed the backup in the bathtub and shower. Very unpleasant. My mother is 89 years old and suffers from dementia and has full time caregivers. To go all night without a working toilet would be impossible. My sister and I immediately searched google for 24 hour plumbing services, of which there were many. However, we were told over and over again that they didn't have anyone available to come out until the morning. As I worked my way through the list I came upon A1 Total Service. I couldn't believe my ears when I was told by the very patient and kind dispatcher that he would have someone out within the hour! I even said, Really? For sure someone is going to come out? And instead of being irritated with me for being so doubtful, he continued to be just so nice! And within an hour, Mario arrived, wearing a mask, which I appreciated, and just proceeded to do his work ( a very miserable job, seriously) at 10:00 pm on a Sunday night in the rain. He was professional, friendly, also very patient and kind, just a real pleasure to deal with, especially under these really unpleasant conditions. He took care of the problem in less than 20 minutes, then waited until I made sure the toilets would flush and the shower and bathtubs drained and everything seemed to back in order. I was happily prepared to pay an exorbitant price for this late night service, as several other plumbing companies I called told me that if they did send someone, there would be a surcharge of several hundred dollars to come at night. But the rate was just totally reasonable and not a price gouge at all, and I just couldn't be more pleased with the service I received, from the dispatcher, to Mario, to the price. I cannot recommend A1 more highly. Really a great company!!! Thanks for saving the day for us!!!

I love that they showed up with masks and all,especially right now during a pandemic. They were very professional especially the guy who worked on our sink and restroom. David Diaz was a pleasure to have and had an amazing work ethic. The pricing was great and they also provided a 1 year warranty! For any future problems I would definitely have them come back and would recommend to everyone!
Absolute scum bags. Quoted me $49 and said they would do their best to have someone out the same day. I waited until the following day, which isn't that big a deal. When they guy shows up he takes a look at my shower, and I mean just a look, visually. It was the same as I had described - shower isn't draining; and he immediately said it was going to cost $175. Talk about a bait and switch! I absolutely HATE this kind of crap. It's not rocket science and you certainly didn't get a college degree, but charge $175 for ten minutes work? If you are considering using this service, be prepared for the same bait and switch.

I was very pleased with the service I received. I had some major issues with my sewage line that popped up during a weekend. George C. came out right away and promptly diagnosed the issue, and then he and the rest of the team, including David G. and Jessie C. (as well as Mario C. for admin) managed to fix everything efficiently and effectively. Everyone was very nice and professional and kept me updated on their progress, and the price was reasonable and consistent with the estimate they gave me. I would highly recommend this team - they take pride in their work and do a great job.
I reached out on yelp and the office quickly got back to me and got an estimator the next day to check out our facility and needs. AWESOME!! I was informed a quote would come in a few days... Two days turned into three then a week passed. I sent a following up on yelp messaging and the office called me shortly after to assure me that a quote is coming soon. They confirmed my email and info once more. A few more days pass and still nothing. I ping them again on yelp messaging and then owner reached out and told me to stop messaging them because it affects their rating. I said ok I understand but I was following up on a quote that is now a week and a few days late now.... He assured me that I would get my quote at the end of the day and if I had any other questions to call him directly. It's been 4 days since that call and still NOTHING. I didn't want to leave a bad review and I thought we were on a good start. Everyone seemed nice and helpful but this place became a dud. If they were not able to provide the service they should have just said so. I hope this doesn't happen to others. Luckily I found another company that is much more prompt at getting back to me.
*** Service I was looking for was too install an in-wall-water-bottle-system*** not a remodel, didn't have plumbing issues or anything like that. I have no idea who Don is. Admitting fault and an apology would have been appreciated. A response that had nothing to do with my situation is just absurd :(

I have a 70 year old house, original waste pipes with no clean-out. Every few years I get a main line clog that bottles won't clear. Brian Shields used to go on my roof to snake it but he sold to A-1TSP , so I gave them a shot. Gustavo and his team showed up within 40 minutes and had me cleared through the roof vent in minutes. They also ran a camera for me to see what the issue was. Roots, lots and lots of roots. They gave me a fair price to install a clean out, and got to work right away. Not an easy job because I live on a sand dune. Got me hooked up the same day and covered everything back to normal the next morning. All pricing as agreed. Jose came for the tankless water heater maintenance with mask on. He showed me how dirty the unit was and explained to me that the frequent error code 12 shown on the panel was due to too much debris clogged up the unit. He helped me clean up the unit and replaced the new cartridge for the filter. I really appreciate his professional work.

Dave Diaz from A1 came out to my house yesterday to take a look at what I thought would be an easy external clean-out for my upstairs master sink that has been slow to drain lately. That being said, the job became more complicated than expected. Long story short, we decided to wait on the project until Covid cases subside a bit down the road (we were trying to keep people from entering our house). Dave was extremely courteous, knowledgable, and didn't charge a thing even though he spent about an hour of his time at the house. I'll definitely be reaching back out to Dave and A1 for future plumbing needs!

I manage a Los Angeles Historic Building that was built in 1932. So with the age of the property comes a few issues now and again with old pipes. No matter when I call A-1, specifically John, who comes out and lets me know what's going on. The've pulled out the camera to show me whats going on inside the pipes and pinpoint the exact location is the issue. He, John and A-1 have never steered me wrong and always do a fantastic job. He also inform me of preventitive work that should be done to avoid further issues. Some plumbing companies I've dealt with companies in the past that will put band-aids on issues but A-1 does surgery and will have you back to normal in no time. (time depending on how big the job is). IF you want it done right, A-1 TSP is the 1st call you should make.

This company is outrageous in their pricing!! And do not follow protocol. They tried to charge our company $5500 to jet a couple lines Which was not even what they were called out to do they were called out to put a liner in some pipes and they quoted $5500 which they never even got a contract signed by a company to do the work! Now they are trying to make bad reviews against our company By saying we won't pay but we have offered pay for the jetting! We won't pay the $5500 because it was never low liner put in!!
Very dissatisfied with the job. Wait for 7 hours for the plumber name Eric. Fuck up job! Because my wife paid $275 for nothing. Plumber came to the house yesterday and check the sink and try to fix it but unable to fix the problem. Plumber left the house unsuccessful fixing the sink problem. And then suggesting a solution to fix the problem by giving my wife a estimation of $1800. Very fuck up job. Another plumber company came today to the house and fix the sink problem and successfully. They only charge me $120 for everything and they did a very good job. I will never refer this company A1 total service plumbing because they just scambag.

I've used them several times in the past and service was always fine. I never had an issue. But I called yesterday about a problem with my hot water heater. They sent someone out and he assessed the issue and then gave me a totally crazy quote. I might be a woman, but I know how much these things cost and he was totally upselling me. I manage a rental property with a few apartment units and A-1 replaced a hot water heater for me there a year or so ago and charged me HUNDREDS less than what they quoted me yesterday. I knew I was being given a bogus quote, so I said no thank you and I called two other places today. They both quoted me several hundred less for the exact same job (replacing the hot water heater). I went with one of those companies and they did such an amazing job. I will not be using A-1 anymore for my home or the rental property. It's a shame they lost a customer because of an overpriced quote.

A1 is the best plumbing service in the South Bay, hands down. Let me explain.
SoCal Gas turned off my service because of a gas leak in the house pipe. I called a plumber, who came out on Saturday and Sunday only to do a completely botched job. SoCal Gas let me know on Monday that the leak was still there so I was back at square one.
That's when I called A1. I was told that there would be someone at my house in the next 60 minutes. An hour later, John showed up right on time. Within minutes John was able to diagnose the problem and explain in detail exactly what the issue was. He immediately fixed several indoor gas leaks that the other plumber completely ignored, then let me know he'd replace the pipe the following day. True to his word, John and crew were there the next day, worked non stop and had my gas on several hours later.
John is an absolute saint. He's the most knowledgeable plumber I've ever met. Not only that, he takes the time to make sure you understand the issue and let's you know exactly what he's doing to fix it with no strings attached. John won a lifetime customer in me. I'll never contact another plumber as long as John is taking calls. Don't waste time with anyone else, he's the real deal.

This Company came out this past Fall for a clogged bathtub blockage, we were very impressed! Then, since they were so prompt in taking care of our problem I knew that I'd call them again. Mario, Jr. & Mario, Sr. Were very professional & friendly while they explained to me what needed to be done. I felt very confident with what they did and answered all of my questions and concerns. He started working on the issue at 6:45 Pm and he finished at 8:45pm. John is very nice guy and he did professional job. He tried his best to make sure everything is working in order.

We had a leak in the master bath sink and Jose from A-1 Plumbing came over the very same day and installed new faucets and fixed the leak! The price was incredibly reasonable. He stayed late to get the job done right and even followed up a few days later to make sure we were happy with the install. He was polite, efficient and very nice and on time. We totally recommend Jose and A-1 Plumbing.
I'm not trying to pressure you, but if you don't do it right now it will cost an additional $1500.
That's actually what they said when they came out to look at a plumbing issue. I had a leak and called a couple companies to come out and assess the situation. A-1 said I need to repipe all the drains in the whole building for $5500.
I said I'd get back to him later in the day since i had another company coming out to give an estimate, then he said it would cost an additional $1500 ($7000 total) if they left and had to come back. He then charged me a $95 service fee (which they didn't disclose earlier), that I paid because he agreed he would send me the pictures he took of the issues on his phone. He never sent me the pictures
The second company came out and solved the immediate problem by snaking one of the lines for $100. I agree some additional work will likely need be done on the pipes in the future, but A-1 tries to take advantage of an urgent (but relatively minor) issue to pressure you into a huge unnecessary expense

I was very impressed with the professional, knowledgeable and caring approach of John from A-1 Total Services. He solved our sink backup quickly, answered all questions we had, and was considerate of our time constraint. Will use them again,.
We've been having an issue with a weird smell coming through an area of the house. Smell was sewer like. We called A-1 and a nice technician named Alex Escobar was dispatched to our home. He was friendly and explained some of the situations that could be occurring. After speaking for a while, he advised that he can inspect our sewer line with a cam. He showed us that there were no blockages and advised it could be our AC unit emitting the odor. The service he provided was exceptional and I would recommend his work as well as this company to friends and family.

Since you have the address and chose to post it for everyone to see, and since you know to threaten to call the city, you also know that the rear house was built in December 2014 and the certificate of occupancy was issued in 2015...stupid! Second, even though A-1 Plumbing DID NOT do any work, you still tried to get paid by calling and sending me a past due bill MONTHS later as if I would forget. But after I sent A-1 a certified letter threatening to file a complaint, I never heard from you again. Who's lying now Raymond G.? I can back my experience up with this company...but you can't back up any of your lies. Shall I post my video, your fraudulent bill, my letter, and A-1's reply by email apologizing to me?
In the legal world what you're doing is called sham and fraud. What you should do is stop trying to rip people off before you end up losing your so-called professional license as a plumber. You really should be ashamed of yourself. Anyone who reads your reply should know it's a reply that an 8 year old would write in lieu of throwing a tantrum cause he's caught with his hand in the cookie jar...i.e., my pockets. Shame on you and A-1 Plumbing.
Ladies (and unsuspected gents)...when dealing with this company, please get a second opinion before committing to their services. Know what the labor and cost is really worth. I knew better. Just cause I'm a woman doesn't mean I don't know what I'm doing.

Service with a sense of urgency!! I called on a Saturday evening and they sent someone out on Sunday morning. We smelled gas when we used hot water, called Gas Co to check. No gas leak, but our water heater that was working perfectly fine no longer works after they messed with it. So annoyed. Fortunately A-1 sent Gilbert out on a Sunday morning and got everything fixed! All the other services that claimed to respond quickly 24/7 did not do so!!! We will definitely use A1 again! Thank you!!
If you own a business like I do and are open to the public seven days a week then you know that a broken toilet or backed up drain is always an emergency.
I wish I had found this company twenty years ago. They always have a technician available who is knowledgeable and committed to solving my problem.
Their prices are fair and their work is guaranteed. It doesn't get better than that.
I recently had a plumbing problem at my income property. The tenant reported that water was not going to the shower head. I called A-1 Plumbing Const., a company I have used before. They sent someone to check the situation out immediately. They advised that the part needed to repair the shower is no longer being made. This is a house that is 100 years old. They advised that I needed to replace the shower assembly. I OK'd the work without having to visit the site. I have been doing business with this company for several years. The tenant is pleased with the work, I am pleased with the company and will continue to use them. The workers are kind, courteous and professional.

When the drains in our house backed up, and our plumber, for the first time ever, couldn't snake them successfully, we called A1. They came out immediately, and brought a camera, which clearly showed the problem(s)--invasive roots in the main sewer line and places where the line had broken. Over the next two days, they worked efficiently to prepare and install a sleeve in the entire line--ultimately far more than they had initially planned, but without increasing the cost. All the workers that showed up were professional, personable, very hard-working, efficient, and took obvious pride in their work. They left our property in pristine condition--you couldn't tell they were here despite digging two deep trenches along the way to access and repair the line. George was the first on the scene, and the last, and worked alongside some top-notch specialists/co-workers until the job was done. His dedication to resolving our plumbing crisis, and his detailed explanations of the entire process, including photos, were really appreciated.
We have a guest house in our backyard that is surrounded by trees, hence, roots. The roots had invaded our sewer pipes and the toilets backed up due to root blockage. I called and they came within the 2 hours they promised (they called to let me know when to expect him) and showed up and got to work right away. They explained what had to be done, called in the big guns in and fixed the problem with a smile. Mike was patient as we hovered over him and Mario was professional and patient with us. At the end of the day kudos to Mike and Mario and to A-1 total Service Plumbing these guys are definite keepers and would refer them to family and friends in a heatbeat.

My Landlord call A-1 Service Plumbing Company, technicians were very nice, they came out to fix my heater & pilot to my stove. Reliable, On time & friendly. They explain what was wrong show us the probably & fixed immediately. Would absolutely use them again.
I had a plumbing urgency at one of my rental properties in Culver City today. The water heater died and was gushing. My normal plumber really wanted to me to stick it to me on the price of the repair and their service guy was so rude to me. So I told them to pound sand. I did some Yelp research, called a few highly rated shops and found these guys, A-1. Their price was a bit less than the others and I decided to give them a shot.
Boy was I impressed. The plumbing professional, Shawn, was a pleasure to speak to and was obviously very passionate about his work. We had a bit of back and forth on the cost of a few needed extras, but I feel I received a very fair price from a top notch professional at the end of the day.

Awesome service! An operator answered my emergency call on a late Sunday afternoon, even though most other places only had answering services. Within an hour or so, Gustavo Cuevas, the technician arrived to clear the main line. Most plumbers from other companies refused to come on a late Sunday evening. Mr. Cuevas not only showed up and fixed the problem, he was professional, friendly, and informative. I highly recommend this company, and most especially, the technician Gustavo Cuevas and his father who accompanied him. The price was extremely reasonable. I had expected a huge bill, but was happily surprised to find they had a special promotion. I not only recommend them, I asked for a card to share with my entire family in case they ever need a plumber. I am very happy with the service I received.
These guys are very professional, helpful, and knowledgeable. Jose Reyes did such a wonderful job. He was very knowledgeable, helpful and a hard worker. No matter what obstacles he came across on getting the job done, he never gave up. He went above and beyond to help my elderly mother and I from day 1. I would totally hire him again. When it came down to needing further scoping of our pipes, Mario Chavez came right away. Both guys were very patient with my mother in helping her with the needs of our home. Thank you guys very much. I will totally give A-1 referrals!!!

Raymond Gray and his employees at A-1 Total Service Plumbing are the best contractor/plumbers I have ever had the pleasure of working with.
Background Story: I came home to find that 1/3 of my house had flooded with raw sewage. In a panic I called a highly recommended competitive plumber who drained the blockage and quoted me 35% above fair market value for the huge repair I would need done. After researching plumbers, my brother contacted Raymond Gray: our hero!
Raymond took our call after 8PM and stayed in contact through the evening addressing ALL of our questions. Raymond and his employees showed up at 11AM the next morning and began work immediately. He quoted a fair price and completed the massive sewage job to the main line in the street in 36 hours during Christmas week! Raymond worked with our neighbors and coordinated with the previous contractor who made the errors resulting in our backup. Raymond and his employees were courteous, kind, friendly, trustworthy, reliable, and reachable 24 hours a day! He held my hand through the entire process. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone who needs significant plumbing/sewage work completed.
Raymond also put us in contact with the 911 Restoration who came the same day and, at Raymond's request, began work immediately. He made a crummy holiday disaster exponentially better!

When the gas company told me I had a leak in my gas line, that it was probably underground, and that I couldn't get the gas turned back on until the leak was fixed, I was less than excited. When another plumber took a cursory look at the situation and then gave me a five-figure bid on the repair, I was most definitely not excited.
Yet when John and Mike arrived and John decided to take a closer look, he quickly realized that the leak was not underground. It was at ground level and easy to access. So he tested pressures in multiple locations, concluded that the leak was only where he found it, replaced the faulty pipe, pressure-tested again, and completed the work.
The cost was three figures, not five. However, John's and Mike's diligence, helpfulness, and (most definitely) cost-effectiveness do qualify for five: five stars.
They did a great job again, Alfonso is the best.

I had a stuffed washer/dryer drain which started spewing out into my bathroom. A 1 Total Service Plumbing came to the rescue... on the same day! The phone person was very nice and everything went smoothly. I also received a 30 day warranty in case the pipes get clogged again. The price was much cheaper than my other options so that was a plus as well. Thanks again Mike! He did a great job in under 30 minutes.

This morning we woke to a flooded garage and noticed our water heater had burst. In a short amount of time, Mike Henderson of A-1 plumbing arrived and saved the day. Within a few hours, the water heater was replaced. The professionalism was above average and the workmanship was as good as I have ever seen. If you need an honest plumber, this is your company

Unethical company pulled a bait and switch. Did not want to provide a quote over the phone. Instead, offered a FREE on-site evaluation to accurately diagnose and quote the job. Since I am an offsite landlord, I asked that ALL costs be run by me by phone before proceeding. When they were on site, they got a signature from an unauthorized party/tenant to charge a $250 diagnostic fee on top of another $250 in labor and repair. They called me to verbally authorize the labor/repair only, then tried to stiff me with the other $250 and threatened to put a lien on my property if not paid. REGRET DOING BUSINESS WITH A-1. BBB is my next call.

A few months ago Ray, the owner, came to our West LA condo building to help locate a leaking shower. He figured it out quickly and I was especially happy since he came himself rather than postpone the issue for an appointment. I promised him that I would call A-1 again when another plumbing problem occurred.
This time, it was a leaking common pipe in the wall between floors. His team found a complication and quickly referred us to the proper contractor. When that was complete, A-1 returned immediately and completed the repair. That's good service and a feeling of being well cared for.
I would certainly, as Board member for the building or individually as a unit owner, call A-1 for future plumbing needs.
These guys were great! Second time I used them. Great customer service from Pam in front office. Willing to work with my schedule. Mike Henderson came out and fixed an issue with my tankless water heater and a leak in tub in about two hours. Gave me a fair price for quality service. What most people don't realize is that a licensed insured technician isn't cheap. So when a company is providing that honest service at a fair price the customer is making out. Thanks A1 for being that type of business. I'll definitely be recommending and calling these guys back.
As a commercial contractor and maintenance company we use A-1 frequently. Office staff is friendly and helpful, and communication is unmatched in the industry. If a sub doesn't make us look good, we don't use them.
John was referred to me and I am sure glad he was. He came out right away to bid a complete plumbing replacement job on a two unit building. He was very competitive with pricing. He came out exactly when he said he would and explained everything he was doing. He really knows his stuff. I have dealt with a lot of plumbers over the years and John is the real deal, knowledgable, precise, he gets the job done, even working weekends. Change orders...not to worry! John worked with me on every little change I made along the way. A really nice guy and so easy to work with. He is one of those rare ones who takes real pride in his job. He is now holds the Plumber position under P in my contacts!
Extremely disappointed with their customer service. Had my gas valve twisted off and installed along with my washer and dryer. Was quoted a different price over the phone, when they got their they told me 275$, so I said no thanks I'll go with someone else. Instead they try and throw on me a 95$ service fee, which there was no service, so the plumber then said fine 175$ I knew I was cheated right there. I spoke with Raymond the owner after my installation to address the concern. Told him I don't want my money back, just wanted to be treated properly and thought the price changing wasn't right.

I had A-1 service plumbing come out for a job at my clinic and the service was amazing! Raymond is the owner and he sent one of his BEST guys he had over to my spot. He did a full on diagnostic, took time to evaluate and explain everything he was doing and give all his recommendations. It was a super hot day and he was working hard, and was even thoughtful enough to offer US bottle water! Great service, dedicated people and fast! Plumbing issues can be a pain in the butt but when you want the job done, don't go cheap! Quality of service is essential and you want to make sure that the people you have checking out your location have a great reputation.
We found some random leaking from the roof in our closet. HOA called A-1 to look at it. They quickly found out the leak was AC overflow resulted from a clogged up sink in the bathroom and fixed the sink in no time. Impressed by their efficiency, I asked them to inspect the hot water in my bathtub. Home warranty company sent a plumber before and I was told they cannot fix the water flow problem unless they take out the whole tub. Then home warranty company said water flow issue is not covered by my plan and still charged me $65 just for scheduling the inspection. John said that he was going to try by taking out the hot water faucet and looking inside, and that he wouldn't charge me if he couldn't fix it. 5 minutes later, the problem was solved!!!! What a miracle!!! I'm beyond happy about their work!

My previous trusted plumber had sold his business, and I had a bad clog. I got referred to A-1. They were great. Difficult clog required removing the toilet to access and clean out the line properly, and then he reinstalled the toilet with a new wax ring. Actually installed it better than it was before. And he left my bathroom clean after this messy job. Very friendly and helpful. this was over a year ago and it hasn't clogged since, so he did the job right.
Had a gas leak gas company said our gas main is leaking. I called A1 they came out 90 minutes later like I was told. They did their inspection also found water main leaking the guy that came showed me exactly what was going on gave me an estimate and time frame on how long he said it would take 2 days. I went ahead and hired them to perform the work simply because i had good feeling about this company. I was not disappointed they did an excellent job they were courteous, professional and did all the work in 1 day no extra charges thats right exactly what the estimate was. I WAS AMAZED that never happens. I would definitely recommend this company and will use them again. Thanks A1 for your honesty and promp service.
I get 3 estimates before I get any work done and choose a company. A-1 Total Service Plumbing had the best solution that made the best sense. My advice when you have a plumbing issue, get it done when you first know about it. I had a cracked sewer line under 4 beautiful canary palms. We were NOT going to take out of our palms to repair or replace the pipe. I waited for several years before doing anything about it. Well, the pipes moved even more and the alignment was worse not to mention some backup. A-1 was the only one who offered to grind the pipe so the pipe would be smooth. Unlike other quotes they didn't offer the grinding and said it's okay to be a little smaller, I didn't agree to have a smaller pipe especially my sewer. I watched a video screen to see my pipe alignment and see exactly the work and experience that went into preparing the pipe for the liner. Highly recommend. They know what they are doing.
No show. Requested service via HomeAdvisor for water heater repair. A-1 was first to call within the hour. Told us a tech is in the area, and will be at our home no later than 5pm. I mentioned it's important that someone be here by then, because we had an evening appointment. He reiterated no later than 5pm, and if it had to be later someone will call us. We subsequently turned down several plumbers who also responded to the HomeAdvisor request, because we expected A-1 to do the repair. Well, no one came by 5pm. We called and left a voicemail to find out what's going on. We waited until 6pm - still no one came and no one called. We were late to our dinner, and had cold water that night. We expected someone to call us back the next day to apologize - didn't happen.

A1 Service Plumbing is literally thee best! They are reliable, professional, reasonable, and responsible!! Raymond the owner is on it!! He is so loyal and will be there for you regardless of how big or small the job might be. I highly recommend this company! All of their plumbers are amazing and can be there whenever you need service!!!
Great work and fast service. Guys came out and did great work. Machine got stuck (no fault of theirs). There was a small hole in the wall. They sent a pro team to patch and paint the wall and do clean up. I am very happy with their service and work. I would recommend these guys.
I had a nasty plumbing back up on Labor Day 2012 that caused raw sewage to come up from the ground and spew all over my patio. Of course a holiday, right? A-1 came out and over the course of two days figured everything out. Turns out we had clay pipes from the 50's that were completely clogged with vines and other stuff that over 50 years had grown in and gone through the pipes. Raymond and his team cleared it all, did a super cool re-pipe sealer that did not require us to dig up our whole lawn. They did the work fast, it was clean, they were extremely professional. Now, two years later we are doing preventative re-plumbing of the entire house and we called Raymond! I really would not trust anyone else. He explains everything, prices are competitive, and you don't have to worry about anything. Highly recommend!
I had a plumbing emergency - water line that feeds my hose broke. And it was 8pm at night. Oh crap. Remembering their good work on my water heater, I called the 800 number and got the owner Raymond again. He remembered me and sent a guy (Mike) to come out 90 mins later. While he didnt have all the parts there at 9:30pm, he did plug the line so we could have running water. He explained what he was going to do very thoroughly. Mike was very friendly and offered me a good price for being a repeat customer. He then came back the next day, did the work when he said he would, and even texted me a picture of the pipe work before filling in the dirt so I could see his work. I thought they were very reasonable. I hope not to have another plumbing crisis, but if I do, I'll use these guys again.
We had a major repair - we have trees on our property with encroaching roots that necessitated our original clay sewer line be replaced/repaired. We triple bid the job out to different plumbing companies - Raymond, A1's proprietor provided us the most detailed and well presented option - during the initial onsite visit A-1's proposal was explained in-depth and followed up with a thoroughly documented estimate same day. Even before A-1's visit to our house, Ray had researched city plans and knew the depth and run of our main sewer line connection. The diligent workup, along with the commercial value of the estimate led us to the decision in choosing A-1. We then had the line camera-scoped and the findings confirmed the course of action to remedy our problem. The work schedule was outlined for me, so my wife and I knew exactly how/when the excavation and repairs would proceed. Once the actual ground breaking began, the communication we received was much appreciated via daily status updates over the course of days during the work. My wife and I both felt that Ray and his team (his father - John, and team mates Nick, David and Dave) were very professional and people of good character that could be entrusted at our home while I was away. The resulting job quality was top notch and as painless as an expensive job like this for a home owner could be. The function of our plumbing is now fully restored and like new. All the excavated ground, walkways and patio concrete that had to be broken to make the repairs were expertly reconstructed with great care. I would not hesitate having this crew do work for us in the future and will be referring my friends and family to Ray should the need arise. Bottom line: Proactive communication, quality craftsmanship, trustworthy people, done at a competitive price - very highly recommended.

Raymond at A-1 is the absolute best! We had purchased four new appliances for our kitchen, all of which required various work to be done in order to have installed. We called Raymond late on a Saturday evening, & he sent out Jim to help us on Sunday. Jim was completely fantastic. He diagnosed, fixed, and proactively took care of everything that needed to be done. Jim's professionalism, expertise, and downright friendliness guaranteed that we'd always ask for him and A-1. Less than a week later, we developed a leak in one of the installed water lines. Raymond himself came out to look at it, and the reason for the leak? One of our cats had bitten the line. Despite the problem being our fault, Raymond fixed it at no charge. You seriously couldn't possibly find anyone better than Raymond, plus Jim, and everyone at A-1!!
Had a slab leak in the bathroom. If you've had any experience with this problem, you know that repairing it can get ugly really fast. Brian R. came out, figured out where the leak was, and gave me an estimate. He then came out the next day and fixed the problem. He was careful (not easy with a jackhammer), clean (again not easy with a jackhammer), and did a great job with the repair. I am very happy with the job and they will be our first call if we have any plumbing issues in the future!
FAIL!!! NEVER AGAIN!!! Please , Please save yourself the time, stress, money and the time off work etc. ... Called made an appointment, rep sounded kinda sketchy as if he wasn't even paying attention to the details of my plumbing issue. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and kept my appointment. Long Story Short NO CALL... NO SHOW . not even a call to let me know that they wouldn't be able to make it. I called them about 25 min after my appointment time. No answer, they called me back and apologized and told me that there is a plumber on the way ETA 15 min. .... ok ...I waited another 20 min. Got another call from the plumber: he asked me my name, asked if i had an appointment today..? .. Immediately began to explain that he was just told by dispatch that there was an appointment for me. he looked me up in his system and could not find any info on me. He then began to explain that he was already on his way home and that if i really wanted him to come out then I would be charged for overtime because it was past regular hours and that all he could do is come and shut off the water ( which i had already done) for $180. this company does not care about the customer or consider the frustration a plumbing issue can cause a customer . I had to get out of work early which costs me money, drive across town to shower and wash at my inlaws, not able to shower in the morning. A-1 Plumbing you are so fired. Also its very obvious that majority of the good reviews on your Yelp are fake.

Very reliable and quality work the plumbers explain all work and don't charge you for things you do not need.
Finding a professional, honest plumber has proven to be a very difficult task. Until now. I had a sewage leak in a commercial property and I used Yelp to source a plumber. I had three companies come out to give bids and I felt most comfortable with A1. Frankly, they weren't the least expensive bid, but they were competitive and I felt like they could get the job done in the quickly and professionally. I was right and couldn't be happier. Extremely professional and they got the job done in exactly the time they estimated it would take. Thanks John and crew!

This place sold me a warranty replacement refurbished unit but they actually never replaced the problem part with the new one. Instead, they chose to sell the free manufacturer part to someone else to make illegal profit. How do I know this? Two years after a refurbished unit that I purchased was leaking, I had a forensic mechanical engineer come out only because the same company quoted me $4,300 to replace it. In short, I told them that we have two sinks which is the equivalent to a laundry room and a bathroom except way less hot water demand and they said this was the cheapest unit to replace the broken one that they sold me 2 years ago. The forensic mechanical engineer proved that it's been leaking since the day it was installed based on the amount of internal rust after measuring the corrosive water from this condensing unit. I hired this person because the manufacturer will split the bill with me to bring this company down because they have received so many complaints they started stamping in obscured areas serial numbers on replacement parts. In the last two years, 43% of those warranty replacement parts have been sent out for units at serial numbers that have had those exact same problems either weeks or even two years later. In short, the manufacturer and I have gathered enough evidence to prove publicly that they have defrauded so many people that a class action suit may be warranted. If you don't believe me read this last note: please A1 Total Service Plumbing respond publicly with proof of the contrary of anything I have said. If you don't have the courage to apologize and come clean or do the aforementioned, I promise you within 48 hours I will have a graphic designer organize and present in a very clear manner the trail of communication we've had in the last 2 years as well as the written evidence I have received from the manufacturer of roughly $7,500 worth of equipment that I have paid for that has come back with warranty claims for the exact same problem I had only because the new part they ordered and received for free on the behalf of my unit was somehow mistakenly not installed on my refurbished unit. I'm dropping the gauntlet you have 24 hours either prove me wrong or I will prove myself right with a review that is edited only to prove to everyone who's willing to read that you have defrauded me

The best service!. Had a very gross and substantial plumbing problem on a Saturday. as a rule i never use companies that I find on the Internet, but this was an emergency! The dispatcher made an effort to find one of his guys and called on John (it was his day off). John was at my home within 30 minutes and diagnosed and fixed the problem (huge junk build up in my drains) in less than an hour. The bill was far below what i expected. Will only use this company from now on
I came home at 1030 pm on a Saturday night only to discover suddenly that a pipe had burst a leak and my entire basement was flooded about four inches deep. The flooding continued before my eyes at an unnerving pace. In a panic, I called A-1 Total Construction Service, Inc. and spoke w Raymond, who calmly figured out over the phone immediate next steps for me to take until they could get someone over to my house. In a nutshell, we stopped additional flooding that night, Raymond sent someone over to get rid of the sitting water in my basement and to install fans, and then he sent over a highly competent and courteous plumber the next morning (Corey) to do the repairs. Corey identified the problem quickly, he explained it very clearly to me, and then he completely fixed the problem with minimal cost. I am grateful to have discovered such a wonderful plumbing company to work with. I expect I will call on them exclusively in the future!

when I paid my $95.00 for a diagnostic explanation on my tankless waterheater(which they said theyKNEWw how to repair as the were on the company referral service and I asked before the coming) the tech new nothing of the heater type charged the service of $95.00 and if I hadn't got a second opinion I would have spent $1300,00 of non refundable money and still the problem wouldn't have worked..i asked for the money back and still the owner hasn't called back....if I could 0 stars.the people that work for Raymond are nice..i was looking for hot water not a friend..DG
If you need a quick, honest and reliable plumber, call West Coast Plumbing and Sewer. I've used them on many occasions and have been impressed by their professionalism every time. I've also referred them a few times and my friends and family have thanked me for referring such a good plumber to them. They're honest, patient and super nice. I'll never use another plumber again.
Raymond did a wonderful job, treated me fairly when the unpredictable occurred and knew the answers to a couple unforseen curve balls in the project. If you have any plumbing issues, especially a big one that seems like a disaster, give this man a call. I would not hesitate to call him to deal with any problem, small or large. Mine was large and he did a wonderful job and treated me fairly.
A very good business to call for your plumbing problems. We were very happy with their professional service. You won't be sorry if you call them.

Robert and Vinnie did a great job on my remodel.Price was reasonable and the job was done right.
These guys are a complete fraud. First, a bait-and-switch with a garbage disposal. Then I found out they installed it wrong and created several other problems. Afterward, I talked to other people who also had problems with them.
My water heater went out on Monday and I tried 2 other companies before calling A-1 Total Service. The first didn't call me back until the next day and the other said they would come between noon and 2 and still hadn't shown up or called by 2:30. This was Wednesday. When I called A-1 the woman on the phone was very nice and said she could have someone out at 8AM the next day (Thursday). About 45 minutes later she called me back and said she could have someone come between 6 and 7PM that night. John showed up at 5:45 and diagnosed the problem. He had to find the part and try to have someone come back that same night but I had another obligation so had to wait until the next day. A-1 called at 10AM and asked when I was available. I said noon and at exactly 12 noon Michael knocked on my door part in hand. He called to see if it was covered under warranty, which thankfully it was because it's a very expensive part, and had it installed and working within 30 minutes. Nice people, great service - highly recommended.
