Best Furniture Repair in Chicago IL
Highly recommend for a variety of tasks! We've used Fixer for pluming and thermostat help and have been very pleased! They are the go-to solution for small jobs but bigger than DIY. Edgar was our fixer this morning and was great!

This is my second review for Chris and Jaime. Had them out for a bigger project and they seriously made it possible for us to sell our condo successfully. We had a cash buyer who asked for a number of updates (refaced cabinets, new exterior door, whole place painted, trim repaired, new bath vanity and mirror, etc) and gave us two weeks to complete. These two worked diligently and carefully to get this laundry list completed, the picky buyer walked through and was pleased with their work. They voluntarily worked through the Thanksgiving holiday and seemed to actually care whether we were able to sell our place. Can't recommend these guys enough.

This was a very positive repair service. As a new homeowner, any unplanned repair is stressful. Wiley was very personable and timely. He made sure to clearly communicate the issue and possible solutions before executing. I would recommend the Fixer team to anyone! Thank you!

Working with HandiCo was easy and the quality of work was high. They are great with communication and were incredibly professional. We had them power wash and stain our roof deck this summer and paint the railing. It looks great and when I wanted some touchups, they came right over and insured everything was to my liking. Will likely use them again and recommend to friends.

I contacted Fixer last Wednesday to see if they could take on a small task that just required supporting a couple of bolts on the hinge of my fence. When I called, the representative couldn't quite understand the scope of my project, so he decided it would be best to schedule a consultation. I explained I only wanted a consultation if the project could be completed that same day. He said it shouldn't be a problem. He confirmed the cost would be $139 at time of consultation and that would be applied toward the total project of hired, also that would be the hourly rate. Knowing there's no way that project would be more than an hour. I was desperate and needing it to be done ASAP and so I agreed.
My scheduled time came and went and then I received a notice that my appointment was rescheduled to the following day and they would Credit $15 toward the cost of the consultation. I reached back out and again reinforce that I wanted to cancel unless the project could be completed on the same day. Again was told it should not be a problem.
Nino came out the next day. He was very professional, and nice. He explained he couldn't do the project the same day because he hadn't been booked for it, and even if he had, it was too cold for him to make the repair.
This was a blessing in disguise. I paid the consultation fee, and later got the estimate and was in shock - the total for this project was nearly $300. I had no idea they were going to charge $89 for their handy person to walk into a hardware store, on top of charging $50 (+20% upcharge) for parts which was a couple pieces of wood and a couple of bolts and the hourly rate.
My dad made the repair today in less than 30 mins with a drill and two bolts. He also used a saw to level out the bottom of the fence as Nino had also offered to do.
I just can't believe the cost, it's outrageous. I would not recommend this company based on cost and also the administrative to field miscommunication.

Last minute service request at its best. It's was a sunny Saturday when I made the call requesting their emergency handyman services. They came out next day at 9:30am and got the job done before 3pm. The service was 100% reliable and the charge was very reasonable. Best professional service experienced hands down!! The handyman himself defiently went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. Need a handyman service??? This review was well deserved so look no more and call ABI Home Repair NOW!!

When other handymen refused to work on my job, Rob stepped up with his crew to get it done. Alex was great when he showed up and got things done quickly.
I would recommend them and use them again.

I needed a new fan installed in each of my two bathrooms in my condo. I liked the service Joe provided when repairing a broken lock (from essentially a break-in) and so I thought I'd give him a call again. He was able to help me understand that completely replacing the fans in my bathrooms would be a very time-consuming undertaking that would also require significant manual labor that included replacing some of the ceiling after he ripped the old fans out. I was a little disheartened at his assessment of the situation because I had already purchased new fans to be installed. Joe did tell me that the cheaper, and easier option would be to replace the motors in the old fans and get them running in just a couple hours. Long story short, he replaced the motors and got the fans working again. If that was the end of the story, he would have a 5 star rating.
I'll admit that Joe is able to fix just about anything. I've had good success with his work, although he does charge $90/hour for labor. (Which knocked his rating down one star.) But during the last visit to fix my bathroom fans, he was quick to identify a number of other things he could fix in my condo if I let him. I let him fix a few other things but realize now that I paid for it, literally. I take the blame for not keeping him focused on what I originally called him to fix, the bathroom fans, because at the end of it all I ended up paying for the time he spent talking with me and tinkering with silly things that didn't really need to be addressed on this visit.
The other part of the service call that was frustrating is that he needed to leave my place to pick up some parts at a local hardware store. He called ahead and said the store had what he needed so he left to pick them up. Upon his return, about 45 minutes later, he did not have the parts he needed and said he would have to come back another day to finish the job. Not that big of a deal. The real issue is that not only did Joe expect me to pay him for the time he spent in the car driving to get parts that he didn't bring back, the job was going to span two separate days AND he wanted to charge me a $40 service call fee for both trips. I was taken back by this because not only did the estimated 3 hour job unfold into over 4 hours, it spanned two days and I was being charged for him to drive around in his car. I did not take very fondly to this and made sure to tell Joe. He ultimately 'waived' the second service call fee that he shouldn't have charged me and completed the job on a day about two weeks later. (Minus a second star because I had to unnecessarily argue my case and win.)
When he left my place after the first visit, he did NOT clean up after himself and I found myself sweeping and cleaning up his work mess. If he was coming back the next day, it wouldn't have been a problem but when he left he said, I'll call you when the parts come in a we can schedule another appointment. Thanks buddy but next time, please clean up after yourself. (Minus another star.)
I don't enjoy arguing with service people because they know infinitely more about what they are doing than me. I understand it's a business and they need to make money, which is why I call for their help for fix things and defer to their expertise in all cases. Will Joe the Handyman get the job done? Yes. Will he do quality work? Most likely. Will he clean up after himself? Not consistently. Will he charge you for a service call and $90/hour? Yes. Will I call him again? Only if other handyman services fail me. Sorry, Joe.

Loved working with Don and his son! I had a broken dishwasher, and I thought I would have to spend almost $1k to replace it. But Don & son saved the day! They were fast, efficient, and price was very reasonable. I'd recommend them to anyone who is in need of repairs.

They came right on time and were very responsive through the app!
The two gentlemen who came were very clean and tidy and brought their own tools and ladder. They were polite and I was able to take a work phone call while they worked. I also felt very safe with them in my home!
I definitely recommend!
