Swanson's Home Preservation

We needed our rotting door jamb replaced on an exterior door.  We needed it fixed quickly as we couldn't use the back door.  
Alex and Anthony came out just 1 day after I requested a quote and did a great job repairing the door!

I had Alex's team complete 4 projects. Two were done satisfactorily, but I could have done the other two MUCH better by myself. Check out the pics, especially the wall that they patched and painted. It's really unbelievable that they were going to leave it that way. I finally got them to put a new skim coat on top of the old one to try to smooth it out, but I'm not going to pay for these guys to come back to resand and repaint. I've decided to hire a professional instead. It will be worth it to not deal with Swanson's ever again.

I reached out to Swanson's for some work on my bathroom ventilation fans.  I made an appointment well in advance because I was saving up some cash for the work.  The crew showed up on time and ready to work.  The work requested and some additional add on work that I asked about when they started was completed in time and at the quoted price.  Overall I was happy.
The guys put on the needed ventilation 6 ducts from my two bathroom fans to the roof vents my roofer had installed previously. They also wired the new fan which i had partially installed.  There had never been a fan in that bathroom so I asked them to wire it into the existing wall switch.  That was very successful.  I have since recommended them to several other people.  
To be completely fair and honest the way that the apprentice less senior work fastened the fan was bot great, but it was secure and safe.  I did end up making some modifications before completing the drywall patching.

We were in search of an electrician that could add a 50 amp service outside for our rv.  We had a full electrical panel and Alex's was the only estimate that thought of a more affordable option and was available quickly. Did a great job.  We are super happy!  Definitely will contact again for other projects!

So this is going to be a review that I've been wanting to do for a while now but with just moving into a new place and the holidays, it's been a bit crazy.

Guess what, finally got time to do this!

What can I say, I guess what isn't there to say about Alex and his crew at Swanson's Home Preservation?  I had Alex and his team conduct a couple different projects for me.

The main one was for my Kitchen, to install a range hood, running a new duct for the range hood to outside, fixing up the ceiling in the kitchen and doing a completely new backsplash for the whole entire kitchen because the family and I thought what the old owners had was a bit oldschool and not of our taste.

For this first project Alex and his team did stuff that not many other contractors I worked with in the past would do. I reached out to another guy that came and he said he wouldn't be able to do it because it would be way too long of a project for him if the proper duct work wasn't already intact (like wtf really, what kind of contractor does that), Alex wasn't like that though. Alex, his uncle and the rest of team knew new duct work was going to have to be done otherwise the 1200cfm range hood I bought was going to be cut down in cfms big time.  On top of that during the install there was a part of the roof/ceiling that took a lot of work for the duct to go through where they had to cut through it and it took time! For most people I guarantee they would of got mad, gave up or do a mediocre job. Not Alex and his team. They took time and at the end came out with a fantastic result. I have an awesome range hood and phenomenal backsplash in the kitchen now.

Lol it's almost done I promise I have to include this 2nd project.

The 2nd project I had Alex and his team do was install a projector, automated projector screen, run the cabling through my drop ceiling and run new electrical outlets for the projector and automated projector screen to have places to be plugged in.  Again phenomenal job, the projector and projector screen looks amazing in my new Basement/Mancave. Everything works flawlessly, the cables are hidden/well managed (other than the power cord and hdmi coming out of the projector no way hiding that buddies) and overall just made me happy. During my New Years Eve Party/House warming party, people loved it!!!

I'll include pictures of the before of my Kitchen, after the new backsplash install/range hood and pictures of the sick setup Alex did of the projector and projector screen in my basement.

Oh yea also had Alex do some other really small projects like setup new electrical outlets outside where there wasn't any so my family could put up the Christmas lights.

What can't this man and his team do!!!!

10/5 all day!!! They're licensed, insured, highly reliable and have amazing prices. You won't be disappointed and I highly recommend giving Alex a shout for any future projects you need done.

First, I would highly recommend working with Swanson Home Preservation.  We had some interaction with other home improvement companies about our small fence project. Some of them were shady, wanting to up-charge, or never showed up even to provide the quote and overall we were feeling worried that this project might turn out to be a bust. That was until we contacted Swanson's Home Improvement.   Alex provided us with a fair estimate for our fence project. He was knowledgable and thoroughly understood the aesthetic we wanted. Alex's willingness to listen and provide honest feedback along with a fair quote was the reason we selected Swanson Home Preservation for our project.

On the day of the project, Alex and Steve arrived on time and ready to work. They worked efficiently and make a great team. They even went above and beyond by making a custom piece insuring that our fence looked beautiful. They wanted us to be highly satisfied with their work. Honestly, we are. I have included pictures of the final fence project because we are so proud of the work Alex and Steve have done on our project. Therefore, I would highly recommend Swanson's Home Preservation for any of your home improvement needs. I know we will.

My parents home needed several things repaired and replaced. I spoke to several different companies and decided that Alex's was the best fit for my needs. I'm glad I chose him, he was responsive, fair priced, on time and capable of doing everything. Once the work was completed my parents and I were very happy with the work.

Did a very professional job, excellent communications, able to do quicker than I expected. Will definitely use again in the future & recommend to neighbors.

I needed some exterior siding repair, soffit replacement/repair, caulking and fascia repair and placed a post on yelp.  

Alex Swanson was my first response and came out the next day, a Sunday.  He appeared professional, knowledgeable and fitting for the job.  

Alex promptly sent me a quote which appeared to be reasonable and I accepted.  He did a great job researching and locating the pieces of replacement siding needed for the repair.  I could never have done that.  Alex promptly set a date for the repairs with the siding arrival.  

He and another associate, Austin, arrived the date he set in place.  They both conducted themselves in a very professional manner.  They did a great job and spent a full day completing all the repairs.  Alex even rerouted a pvc drainage line not included in the quote.....at NO EXTRA CHARGE!  

My biggest worry was doing business with no referral and someone I did not know.  Alex helped me to overcome this fear and I have already referred him to 2 more jobs.

Came right on time and did a great job. The price was fair. I had them replace a vanity top and faucet and was pleased with the results. I may have some other projects and will use them again.

We got multiple quotes for our project which involved installing a ceiling fan (where there wasn't a pre-existing one) and a complete overhaul of the lighting in our full-floorplan basement.  Swanson's quote was right in the middle and his knowledge was far superior to the other companies we spoke to.  He suggested a specific lighting layout in our basement that he said would provide exactly the feel we wanted, and he and his team nailed it.  The work was quick and very professional, and the wiring and finish was so neat and clean.  I will absolutely call Swanson's again for any future project!  A+.

We utilized Alex and Loren for our large basement finishing project and couldn't be happier. We had approx 1,000 sq feet of unfinished basement space and needed framing, plumbing (added a new bathroom with shower), electrical, hvac, doors hung, and drywall with finishing. He showed up on time every day and maintained excellent communication throughout our project duration. He was friendly, professional, and courteous. It seems he is a perfectionist by nature, always looking at the little details. He cleaned up after himself and was very cooperative on last minute job requests. I would HIGHLY recommend Swanson's Home Preservation for all your building needs. You won't regret it.

We had a great experience with Alex. What we initially thought was some tiles coming off turned out to be a dishwasher leak and subfloor damage. Alex detected the problem  and he replaced our dishwasher, subfloor and added matching tiles swiftly looking great.

Showed up as scheduled and did good work, per the estimate. No BS. They did the work efficiently and safely and cleaned up. Will use again.

Absolutely thrilled with the job Alex and his team did. Right away, he was very down to earth and easy to talk to, responsive and informative. Very knowledgeable. Professional. Really thankful for his insight into my project. Quote was very reasonable. Then the work they did was flawless. Project was completed ahead of schedule by a day. They did a few extra things when they really didn't need to. To say I'm thrilled with the end result isn't enough! And the cherry on top is they cleaned up well, better than other contractors I've had in the past. If I could give more than 5 stars then I would! My family will definitely be calling them again!

Can't speaking highly enough about Alex and his team. I contracted Alex to have my basement finished. Alex, was incredibly easy to get a hold of and speak to from Day 1. He came out right away to give an estimate and took the time to answer all of our questions which has not my normal experience when working with other contractors. He was honest, straightforward, had a fair price, his team showed up every morning on time, were polite, and always cleaned up at the end of the day. The project was completed a week earlier than expected and exceeded our expectations. We are very happy with how things turned out and would absolutely use Alex again and would definitely recommend him.

I send couple inquiries on yelp regarding my plumbing issue. Alex responded very quickly and offered his help. Although I later found someone later since the person is someone introduced by a friend, I want to thank Alex for his input!

I called Alexander Swanson when a hole was discovered in the lower corner of my front door. He replied within the day and after looking at the photos sent, was able to offer some solutions. We set up a time to meet and he came out to look at the issue in person. After looking at the area he explained what he would fix, how he would fix it and walked through the steps. That was appreciated because it helped to know what was going on and what the options were. He also took health considerations into the options, which was very much appreciated and made sure that a vacuum was running to catch any dust the was created while fixing the door. On the day of the job he arrived and set straight to work. There was a clear focus on what needed to be done and no time was wasted. Not only did Alex and his partner work consistently, he took the time to make sure measurements were exact and sanded down the replacement wood block to ensure a great seal. It was great. I would highly recommend him to anyone and encourage you to try a company that listens to your concerns and makes sure the job is done expertly and cleanly.
