We were having issues with our AC unit, it would stop working intermittently so we gave Fuse a call. The last thing we needed in this heat!! They came the next day for a small fee, provided an estimate and did the work all within an hour. Tim was so nice and professional and went above and beyond helping repair a broken pipe. They were quick and affordable. Highly recommend.

A water inlet into our house developed a pretty nasty leak and just like that we had to look for plumbing services that could come fix the issue for us quickly. I found AY EMP and requested for a quote, they were very timely in their response, and offered to come take a look the next day.

When they showed up, I had some concerns for our water filtration system, and they offered to replace it the very next day, and quoted a reasonable price for the replacement and installing a pre filter and a water softener. They showed up promptly the next day at the agreed upon time and did the work with utmost professionalism. They were respectful of the property and in fact left it in a cleaner state than what it had been when they arrived!

They were very thorough and got the job done the same day even though it was past sunset(and chilly outside) and they had to make a trip to the hardware store in the middle of the job(because a part did not contain all the components). They explained how to perform routine maintenance on the new system, and cleaned up the work area after they were done.

I am very impressed with AY EMP and will be calling them for any other plumbing, or electrical work around the house!

Based on another yelp review, I called Chuck because my smoke alarm was chirping.  It's in a very high area at the top of some stairs, and not easy to get too.

Even though it was Saturday, Chuck returned my call quickly, and came out that morning.  There were a few mysteries, but Chuck used his smartphone to get the user's manual from the manufacturer.  He even sent me a copy of a photo he took inside the alarm so that I would have the mfg date and the proper model number, and sent me the PDF file of the user guide.

I'm very happy with his work, and would hire him again and recommend him to others.

Fred responded very quick with a quote for the repair as well as a time scheduled to come fix our window seal leak. When the heavy rains started in January our newborns nursery window started to leak pretty bad and Fred was able to basically diagnose the problem from the pictures I sent, along with some questions we answered for him .

He was so friendly with me and my family, and wanted to make sure we scheduled at good time for us since we had a new baby. He is very comfortable to be around, efficient, skilled, and wore a mask. Fred fixed our problem the first attempt. Thank you so much Fred for being flexible, friendly, and taking care of our issue as quickly as we needed, and for texting a few days later to ask how we were all doing and how the baby was doing. We will come to you always now for anything else that should happen with our house.

Review for San Mateo Handyman (Norman)

We called Norman a couple of weeks ago to take care of a few handyman projects around the house. This included

replacing kitchen faucet
resurfacing / repainting kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom walls
Installing hanging shelves in the kitchen and bathroom

Norman was able to match the paint for our walls perfectly. The faucet he helped us install is great, and the shelving was done as well as can be expected.Norman was great to work with. He was kind, knowledgeable, and totally willing to answer any questions both my fiance and I had.

In addition, Norman was able to help us with referrals to other jobs that we needed around the house as well. Norman definitely fits the bill as the San Mateo Handyman!

I can't say enough good things about this company because everything is great. My old water heater started leaking, and I had to go all weekend without hot water. On Monday, I contacted the Fuse company, agreed to repair on Tuesday from 1 to 3 pm. At 2 pm I had a new water heater.
Great job! Highly recommend.

This is going to be lengthy, so if you don't want to read the whole thing let me say 1) I will always go to RB Handyman for my needs first (and subsequently recommend them) and 2) if he is available I would have Don do the work.

For the whole review - read here. We came home from vacation to find our kitchen/family room flooded. After dealing with the remediation company we needed a contractor to rebuild our kitchen. We looked at reviews and sent a message out to Rick. He was prompt in his response and quick to come over to bid the job.  We settled on the scope and the price and set the date. The the fun began... we had A LOT of difficulty with our cabinet makers (but that's a different less favorable review) wrong cabinets, delay after delay, and all the while rick and his crew worked with us to reschedule or work around the delays. The quality of the work was outstanding and in the end we couldn't be happier.

Now about Don. Don was the crew member assigned to our project. He was on time everyday. He was professional, conscientious, patient, tidy, a perfectionist... there aren't enough adjectives to describe his level of quality. He made recommendations when he thought something could be done better, and he took his time to make sure his work was right. He felt like a member of the family.

Rick Burgard is an excellent contractor that runs an excellent crew. All of my future needs big and small will be done by RB. Without exception.

Nicholas was so kind and helpful from our very first conversation.  He helped us troubleshoot our kitchen light problem before he came so we could save money by buying a part rather than replacing our whole light fixture.  He was very thorough and professional, and ended up helping us with several small needs around the house.  We won't hesitate to call him back next time we need help.

They do anything to our satisfaction, regardless our repeated changes. I had a front door with several problems. The handle and deadbolt needed to be replaced and the door was sticking because the house had settled over many years. It was clear that Dave has had a lot of experience with doors. He knew exactly where it was sticking and how to adjust it. The door handle replacement wasn't straight forward because it's a 40 yr old door that doesn't fit today's standard door handles. He had to drill a larger hole for the handle and another hole on the edge of the door for the deadbolt to slide through. He was well prepared with an impressive set of tools. Dave got everything to fit perfectly and now both the door and lock glide like butter.
The term handy man doesn't do him justice. Dave is a skilled craftsman.

I had a doorbell wiring issue and Ro gave me a fair quote and came by on time with Sergei and fixed plus also replaced the transformer. They were courteous and polite and eager to help, so gave them additional work to install some lights in the backyard. I would call Ro again!!

Pricing would not be provided prior to visit for hourly rate or for snaking of drain (even with understanding that technician might identify that something else is needed) During visit technician noted pricing is based on a set of fixed standards including snaking

Should not have been charged the $89 visit fee as I would have never have scheduled if I would have known these ridiculously high prices before hand

Had next day service from competitor complete the $875 quoted job for $260

I reached out to Ryan over yelp to assist with a broken outlet. He responded quickly that same day.
When he came to inspect my service request I wasn't sure of the issue with my power outlet, but he did a good job diagnosing the true issue.
In the end he remounted a power outlet under my sink, which enabled the use of our Dishwasher.
I felt he gave quick, reliable service, and I would definitely use him again!

I am glad that so many other Yelpers had a great experience using this contractor. Based on the reviews, we had Yevgeny come out to fix an electrical problem. He spent several hours and said he would return the next day to finish the work. The next day he got overbooked and could not come finish the job. We called another licensed contractor who came out quickly and repaired everything in an hour. Just want to share our experience.

Richard was great. Showed up on time following COVID protocol with mask and social distancing. Diagnosed and fixed my lighting issues. I would request him in the future.
