I had a hole in my ceiling as a result of a roof leak years ago. Never got around to fixing it and finally decided to hire a handyman for the job.
Ryan is responsive and worked with me on pricing to get to a number I was comfortable with. He showed up on time and got the job done quickly. He does top notch work, I literally cannot find the hole anymore!
I have hired Ryan for a few different projects: ceiling fan installation, drywall repair, bathroom faucet installation. He's reliable and professional, and gets the job done.
Slow to respond, so didn't end up using this person since I'm looking for someone with good communication.

Ryan was very prompt in his responses and came out as soon as he could to give an estimate. He took off his shoes before he came into home which we appreciated and wore his mask the entire time for an the estimate.
Very professional and knew what he was doing.
Ryan assembled an HDPE shed for our backyard. He is easy to communicate with, showed up on time, and left the work space clean. The shed assembly met our expectations and we're happy with his work. I would recommend him and use his services again in future.

Excellent workmanship. I contacted Ryan and he immediately responded and provided an estimate of the work that needed to be done. Ryan was able to setup an appointment quickly and followed all safety guidelines required for COVID 19. We needed caulking in the bathroom and kitchen area and we also needed to replace the faucet due to leaks.
I am really happy with the work Ryan performed amd I highly recommend Cockrums Handyman Servies. They accept Venmo, Zelle, checks and cash.

I was looking to hire a handyman for some fix ups around my house. I contacted Ryan about the job and he came over promptly and looked around. Took a couple of pictures and a couple of days later sent me a quote for it. The quote didn't include everything that I had mentioned and in addition to that, everything was ridiculously high.
Then, when I sent him a response he tried to gouge me even further for doing the floor.
It's amusing to come up with such a crazy number and not even have the dimensions of the room at the very least. Clearly, he didn't want to work with me and that's fine, but just tell me instead of trying to rob me.

Ryan was great! Was easy to communicate with and remained in contact throughout. We had got several projects done such as electrical, plumbing, closet shelves, garage shelves , and few other minor ones. Highly recommend him for his services!
We had a GFCI socket that kept on tripping - Ryan had a quick response with a quote and was able to come out the next day. Turns out it was a grounding issue that he was able to resolve in a short matter of time. Great communications throughout the process, definitely a good contractor experience.
I THINK this guy may be good, but after initial text message exchanges on May 20th and May 21st, I never heard back from him. I'm a property manager + Real Estate broker so having a reliable Handyman is essential. I read all the great reviews about Ryan. Not sure if he got busy, didn't care about my business or if my immediate job I was giving him was too small. I am looking for a long-term business partnership with a reliable handyman. I guess I'll keep looking.
I had Ryan for doing some dry wall repair. He communicated promptly, offered a reasonable quote after reviewing some photos I sent over and fixed the dry wall holes with great attention to detail.

I am so glad to find such a great handyman from Yelp. My door is out of alignment due to some poor installment job from the painter, Ryan arrived at my house promptly after some information exchange by phone. He helped to realign the door and adjusted the strike plate location, the door now can be opened and closed appropriately. I asked him to fix another sticky door and he did the adjustment for free. I never expect any contractors do any work for free, no matter how small the job is, they always ask for more money, so I feel really happy. I definitely recommend Ryan to be your next handyman.
Ryan is the definition of a professional who takes great pride in his work. His prices are very fair and he takes all appropriate precautions in these challenging times. My experience with Ryan could not have been better. He did some lighting work in my house and I could tell he is experienced and takes pride in what he is doing. I put a quote to install shelves in my garage and Ryan was the only one who wanted to see what the project entailed. He quoted a price of 5-6 hours for $500 for labor and helped me select the material so I could order it thru Home Depot. He installed the shelves within less than 3 hrs and did a very good job. Unfortunately, I still had to pay $500. His work is commendable and clean.

Here is the history, reached out to Cockrums Handyman to work on an assembly of a Gazebo for my backyard. We agreed on the price and the date of work. Pretty straight forward. Ryan even messaged me the night before to confirm if the work is still on. A couple of hours before the agreed time and date, he cancels on me. I would not run my business like that. How would you rate this experience?
Since there is no way to respond to your reply Ryan, I am editing my review to include a response to counter what you just said as this is about integrity. You texted to my wife to cancel ~an hour before you were suppose to work on the Gazebo saying it's impossible for 1 person to install this as you work alone, solo and have no assistant vs your response to me that the assistant you lined up flaked out and finally to your response from my review of you where your assistant is not allowed to work. These are mixed messages that do not reconcile.

I initially hired Ryan to install a waterline for a new fridge we had purchased. Ryan installed the line but the line had a slow leak that wasn't obvious at first, so he came back and fixed that. I also had him install a ceiling light that required rewiring and patching the ceiling. He did a great job on that and was very responsive to my questions.
If you're looking for someone to do jobs that are just a little out of your comfort zone, I can heartily recommend Ryan.

Ryan was highly recommended to me for the multiple things that I needed to have repaired around my home. I had a list of jobs, called Ryan, responded promptly, and was able to do all the repairs, and he was available 2 days later. Ryan showed up on time, finished quickly (even though he had to go all the way back to Newark to get the appropriate parts), cleaned up everything, and removed all the broken equipment, all at a fair price. I now have a new (quieter) garbage disposal, a light for under the cabinets that is bright and doesn't buzz, plus 2 bathroom fans that actually work now. I asked about some other things that will need repair in the future and he is able to do them all. I highly recommend Ryan for your handyman jobs around the house--he really can do anything!

Very happy with Ryans service. He wad able to correct a problem with a recently installed bathroom fan. He also repaired some drawer slides that were not working. Ryan caulked and filed nail holes in the baseboard in our newly refinished bathroom!

Ryan's quote was the fairest for a quick service I needed to replace my broken garage tube light. He made sure to show up with the right set of tools and even made an extra trip to the store just to find an extra pair of I-hooks that the manufacturer forgot to ship.
The light in our upstairs bathroom mysteriously stopped working (despite new bulbs) and the fan in our downstairs bathroom died. I sent a yelp message and Ryan cane the same day! He bought us parts and showed us what broke and why. Everything was done (including leaving to buy parts and coming back!!) in a couple hours. And the price was extremely reasonable. HIGHLY recommend!

Needed help to replace bad rollers on a heavy patio door. Ryan was very responsive and was able to stop by the next day. The job was not as easy as expected but Ryan was very patient and focus on getting it done. I am very pleased and I will recommend him to anyone who needs help.
Ryan was very responsive from the moment we asked for the initial quote. He gave us an actual $ amount for the work we asked him to do (change the sync, fix the doorbell, and install new shower-head), and delivered as promised. He also showed up right on time, even though we had to reschedule the initial appointment to a different day.
He worked tirelessly for the whole day to complete the work professionally, and didn't take any shortcuts.
Highly recommend, and we will definitely hire him again for our handyman work.

I reached out to Ryan over yelp to assist with a broken outlet. He responded quickly that same day.
When he came to inspect my service request I wasn't sure of the issue with my power outlet, but he did a good job diagnosing the true issue.
In the end he remounted a power outlet under my sink, which enabled the use of our Dishwasher.
I felt he gave quick, reliable service, and I would definitely use him again!
We were having a hard time finding someone to repair and replace some exterior wood paneling on our home due to dry rot damage when I heard about Ryan via NextDoor. He showed up in a timely manner for our scheduled appointment, and provided a very professional quote via email. It was super easy to schedule the job with him (and his estimate was competitive), and the quality of work was detailed. He came multiple times to get the measurements he needed and drop off supplies (and texted us each time he was swinging by to look at the exterior of the home), and then finished the job in a quick weekend. Excellent handyman! I received a quote for several repairs I inquired about within a matter of minutes. I had three separate problems: a plumbing issue, an electrical issue and a broken closet door. Ryan was able to address all three in a timely fashion, and I am very happy with the results. Would definitely recommend!

Shopped around for an electrician for a day and others were either booked until after the holidays/ new year or very pricey! Ryan got back to me and was reasonable with his pricing. Had an appointment set with Ryan for 9am this morning & he was right on time. The outlets in our kitchen and one in the garage was not working despite resetting the circuit breaker. Ryan knows his stuff. He taught us a bunch of stuff while he was here. Turns out one of the receptacles was bad in one of the outlets and the other outlet had some loose wires which was causing no power to the other outlets. 3 hours later, our kitchen is running again! Ryan was not a good fit for me. He seemed scattered and spent over 3 hrs looking for parts. He was able to gut out my bathroom. Have to give him props for that. Needed more experience (since he was spending a lot of time looking for parts that fit). He was paid a pretty penny for his work so he shouldn't complain.

I contacted Ryan to fix a problem with our sprinkler system at home. He was flexible and willing to come over at a time that worked for us. In about 20 minutes he checked the timer system and the valves and was able to identify the issue. He had all the necessary tools and parts needed to fix the problem in his truck. Ryan did some excellent needed work for me. I had an intermittent electrical problem. Ryan did the troubleshooting to isolate the source and then corrected the problem. He was professional in his work and kept me informed along the way. He cleaned up everything before leaving and improved the attachment of the electrical panel along the way.

I was in need of a minor plumbing job in the course of the conversation doing that job he mentioned he also does lawn mowing and related maintenance like fixing sprinklers and such. I have had troubles with other lawn mowing services doing a very good job and none of them were capable of fixing the sprinklers so I gave him a try. I'm happy to say I'm very impressed in his attention to detail. He has all the right equipment including a nice trimmer and both a very powerful blower & vacuum that he used in combination to leave both the front and back yard better than I've seen it in a long time. He even picked up all the leaves in the street. He also did some extra things based on what we had talked about all for his original estimate. The fact that he is also experienced in doing sprinkler and dipper work is just icing on the cake. I highly recommend him.
Ryan helped me fixed an outlet quickly, which the contractor assigned by First American home warranty claimed it's a not enough load capacity issue and denied my repair request. Ryan is patient, professional, he fixed the problem, charged a fair price, and saved my day.

I found Ryan Cockrum from a recommendation on NextDoor.com. Ryan did an excellent job clearing and pruning the jungle that had claimed both of our front and back yards. He is very professional and has a terrific work ethic, which is hard to find nowadays. I was so impressed that I am going to hire him to come back and fix a plumbing problem, put in a new garbage disposal, paint the inside of my house, re-caulk our shower, and fix our irrigation system. Ryan is a lifesaver! We bought an older house last year so many pieces are old and giving out or were improperly done by the previous owner. Ryan spent more than a week helping us with big jobs like tearing out dry rot and redoing wood siding (woohoo he matched the paint despite a clueless store employee trying to give him the wrong shade and special ordered our wood siding that other handymen said weren't sold anymore), trim, realign, sand down, and paint an old door that wouldn't close, and replace several leaking pipes under the house. It was thousands of dollars of work which hurt, but Ryan tried really hard to help us save money with alternative options to repair and being honest when a job was smaller than originally quoted so we could have a small discount to be fair. He saved our door, got original hardware moved so it worked without replacing it, and crawled under the house multiple times extra just to get me photos/video of a surprise leak that popped up on the other side of the house during the final walk through. I was able to prevent mold and rot under my house thanks to him going above and beyond our contract. Ryan came to work even sick with the flu because I was trying to meet a deadline and beat a rainstorm. He's a good local guy and does volunteer work for local school sports teams to give back to the community too. We've got your cards and will be calling again for the next repair in this little old house, thanks Ryan!

We hired Ryan to help us with our shower heads and dishwasher problem. First of all, unlike other individuals who I have contacted, he actually came over and talked to me about the problem, let me know how long he was estimating and gave me an overall all-in quote. He was knowledgeable, love what he does, friendly, hard-working and more importantly, he actually teaches you why and how that happened, and ways for us to fix it next time when it comes up. I was reading some reviews on Yelp, I just wasn't sure the one stars are real customers to begin with. I find Ryan's price to be competitive and fair, someone was talking about $2000 for 5 hours of work?! I think this is more like a competitor trying to damage his reputation, which I think is quite unfair to the type of work he does. So yeah... I can just say that Ryan will be our first call to make for our next fix up at home. End of story.
Found Ryan through Yelp, send him a message and he responded quickly and came later in the evening to our house. We had some toilet issues he took care of and charged very reasonable prices. He went to get the supplies himself and didn't charge anything extra. Would definitely recommend him

Had a broken bath exhaust fan in my rental unit. I was thinking about replacing the whole unit with housing, but it'll involve cutting out drywall giving unit with the same dimension can't be located. It was also a bit hard to locate people who'll do exhaust fan on Yelp. Luckily I located Ryan after putting out the bid (Ryan's bid was reasonable). It turned out Ryan has quite some experience with bathroom exhaust fan. He told me the housing can be kept and just need to replace motor and fan unit. Ryan responded promptly and consistently. He showed up and took apart the unit with motor and fan to the hardware store for replacement parts. He later called me and told me that the motor unit is rather expensive and the existing motor will still work fine. We then just replaced the fan. He also went the distance of taking the whole assembly and cleaned them throughly back at his house. He came back and installed the assembly. The exhaust fan is now working as new ! What an excellent experience. Ryan is knowledgeable, courteous and he has the home owner's interest in mind (which is rare to see these days). I also had him replace a loose electric outlet the next day. I would hire him again for my next set of projects and repairs. Highly recommended !

We hired Ryan to fix our French door. He was quick to respond to our call and came the same day. His quote was very reasonable and his work ethic is very professional. I emailed cockrum handyman service to remove 2 dressers a bed and 5 boxes out of bedroom,(15 minutes at most)wash walls(1 hour at most)and paint room(3 hours at most)then move furniture back in.(15 minutes at most)I would supply all paint and materials.without coming to see the job he gave me an estimate of $2,000.about 5 hours of work...if you think I'd pay $400 an hour your nuts.if you wanna pay $400 an hour go ahead but it's ridiculous.my star is a caution star

Ryan recently completed a drain clog job at my home. He was professional, arrived on time, and fixed the problem. He could easily have recommended the more expensive repair option. However, he first tried out a solution he recommended, which worked. I would have paid for the more expensive option but Ryan avoided recommending a more expensive solution (at double the cost) that would have taken about the same amount of time.
We were referred to Ryan by a friend. Asked him for help with a tricky clogged drain and even though it went longer than expected he was very patient and stayed until late night to resolve the issue. We highly recommend him and will definitely use his services again.
Needed a handyman to fix my bathroom ventilator fan and driveway motion sensor light. Ryan was very prompt in responding, came even in late evenings to do the work as per our work schedules and convenience. He's professional and polite in his dealings with his clients. He was meticulous right from buying the parts all the way up to installations and testing. I will recommend him for any electrical work.
I hired Ryan to repair a bad outlet under the sink that services the dishwasher and garbage disposal. He replaced the outlet and then it had a new issue of being stuck on. He claimed that it was like that because my wiring was damaged and would most likely require a huge project that involves going in my walls and re running wire and that it was outside of his area to do that kind of job. I ended up calling an electrician to come take a look and it was a 10 minute fix with the issue being that Randy had wired it incorrectly. A $200 expense turned into $365 thanks to paying Ryan to not fix the issue.
We asked Ryan to help us with air gap installation. It turned out to be tricky because of the existing kitchen sink. Ryan did a thorough job, which included going to home depot to get parts that were needed. However, our dishwasher was still not functioning. Ryan had to open up the garbage disposal to realize that there was plastic plug preventing water from draining. We are thankful to Ryan for going beyond his assigned task to get the job done.

Rayan did wonderful job with ceiling fan replacement. He was very patient and professional. it's was high ceiling replacement not easy

Helped me out in a pinch. Sink was clogging after Thanksgiving and he came over on a rainy Saturday to help. Cleared the clog, cleaned everything up nice, and was very helpful overall. Thanks!!
