This is a Yelp success story:  I contacted Big Blue for a pair of repair jobs in my three-family after reading their reviews and being very excited to support a local business that seemed to be pleasing its customers.

I have to say, this was not only by far my best experience with a plumber, but, perhaps my best experience with any business I've ever had to contact in eight and change years of being a homeowner.  

Kevin and his staff were incredibly helpful, responding to my calls immediately, having someone visit the same day in exactly the narrow time window I was told, spending time diagnosing the problems, educating me as to what the situations were, how things should be set up if they were built from scratch, what my options were for repairs, and so on and so forth, so that I would be making the most informed decisions possible.  

Rather than up-sell me the most elaborate fix, they asked me what my plans were, discussed the utilities costs associated with calculating a pay-back time for a more elaborate or efficient piece of equipment, emailed me literature and technical specs for different alternatives for heating, hot water, and heat integration, and just in general demonstrated as much care for my investment as they would for their own homes.

Big Blue is, quite simply, a model for how you run a business.  Any business.  I would recommend them to anyone who needs plumbing and heating help, and I would recommend them to any fledgling business owner as a model of how you secure loyal repeat customers.  

My Big Blue magnet is on the fridge and the number is in my Contacts list and I won't have to sweat another plumbing problem for as long as I shall live in Somerville.

I have used Ostroski Plumbing several times over the last few years at my condo and have had outstanding results utilizing this company. Greg is always on time, works very neat - never a mess, and always comes in on budget. Due to my work schedule I have made arrangements to let Greg in and leave him there until the work is completed. I've never had any issues other than exceptional results. I will use Greg again and would recommend him to anyone looking for no-nonsense quality plumbing solutions on the North Shore. Angel was great. We had a steam pipe that sprung a leak very shortly after we moved into our new home. Angel took the time to explain our system to us and the cause of our problem.  He was able to come give us an estimate after work, and then when the problem got worse he came and took care of it on a Sunday in a short order.  They even cleaned up the mess from the leak that happened before they got involved. Very pleased.

I've now used Consolidated Plumbing and Heating twice, both times they were exceptionally helpful and quick to respond.   The first time, our repair was handled the next day and done cleanly and professionally.  The second time, they helped me diagnose over the phone and were above and beyond helpful.  I will not hesitate to call again!

Could not be happier with the level of professionalism and price point. On top of that, Mike was able to come the day we called. Stumbled upon them via yelp desperately looking for help and as new home owners have definitely found who we will be using for all future issues.

had them put in a new boiler and oil tank they did such a great job. I could not believe how quiet and efficient they were  they left the place cleaner than when they came. All workmanship was top notch and very professional .If you need service or a new boiler these are the people to call. I'm super impressed w Andrew! Smart, honest, arrived exactly on time and fixed all of my little plumbing problems. My house is going through the beginnings of a move and renovation, and he was super patient w the craziness and clutter, and remedied a problem that two other plumbers couldn't solve, in minutes. Had a problem with upstairs toilet. Called 4  people, couldn't get anyone here within a week. Call Mass Plumbing and Heating, Welter came within 3 hours.  Welter was respectful of current Covid issues, he was efficient, cleaned everything up, and in general...a nice guy to have working in the house. Decided to get proactive with our 20 year old American Standard furnace. Selected Main Stream Mechanical to do the install and couldn't be happier. Technicians were very knowledgeable and professional. Very well run company with great communication. Couldn't be happier.

Renato is great,he was prompt and communicated throughout the project of replacing part of our cast iron pipe and installed a new toilet,thank you Dano who did the labor and cleaned up after the work was done,very efficient!!  I highly recommend Bushi plumbing !!!

I have never in my life met a team so passionate at their job.  We needed a water heater replaced in our house as well as some other areas issues looked at/fixed.  Once we called Landmark we were completely taken care of.  We were met at the house and provided options that ranged in prices (with no upset pressure), they educated us on current requirements for venting (3 duct to a now required 4 duct), as well as provided us some good insights into how the water system works in general.  Clearly knowledgeable.  The quote they provided was never exceeded and we were provided options when looking at water heaters.  We chose the one we wanted and before you knew it the team was at the house, early on a beautiful Saturday morning ready and eager to get to work.  The work was done beautifully.  Not only did we have a new water heater installed (which looks darn good I must say), they installed the new venting ducts as well as shored up ALL the pipes in the basement (something they certainly did not need to do): insulated this one, clamped down that one, checked the water pressure here and removed excess pipes there.  A dream team.  

Quoting and invoicing is done through FreshBooks which makes the entire transaction paperless and easy.  Pricing was unbelievably fair for the work done.

These guys have not only earned our trust, but have earned lifelong customers as well as references.

Ryan was great! Huge help, honest price and very personable. He consulted (pics & description of leaky sink) before the appointment and told me the best way to get a part (for a cost savings) and quickly responded and scheduled with me. He showed up on time and did the work perfectly. Would recommend these guys/Ryan to anyone!

Lifesaver! Our older Lochinvar boiler was intermittently failing. Would run fine for days then keep needing to be reset. Contacted a bigger plumbing contractor (begins w/ Cr) a few weeks ago because we were desperate to find anyone to come who we hadn't dealt with in the past. They came and did a service on the boiler, which of course was running fine at that time, but then proceeded to go off again 2 days later. They did come back, but at that time it was running fine again (at least they didn't charge us for that visit). So the week before this record cold it really starts cutting out, so I called Lochinvar and their service branch gave me a few local names. By chance I called Russo first and they said they could be here the day after. Woke up to house @ 52 degrees that morning.
  Anthony showed up and assured me he would get it fixed, and proceeded to go through with me all the possible issues before replacing the fan unit that was most likely culprit. Couldn't have asked for a more professional and knowledgeable technician. Our only regret was that we hadn't found them earlier. What an immense relief to not have to worry about losing heat on the coldest day of the year!

I made an appointment with MacCo for the annual servicing of my ac and heating units. The person who answered the phone, Victor, explained that the price was the same as the previous year, but if I chose to pay by credit card there would be a 5% surcharge. I was told that I could choose to pay by cash or check instead to avoid the 5% surcharge. I was also told by Victor that he would confirm the appointment by phone the day before. On the day of the appointment, I never heard from Victor so I called the office to confirm. Victor was rather snippy and claimed he called me the day before, but my phone was busy. He could've emailed me, texted me or tried calling again, but he did none of those things. Also, he said if I looked out my window I would see the plumber's truck in the parking lot. Guess what? My condo is in the back and doesn't face the parking lot! In any event, the servicing of my ac and heating units was done satisfactorily and the plumber was far more pleasant than Victor. I'm not sure if Victor was having a bad day or if he's always confrontational with customers when things don't go smoothly, but the fact is, when anyone works in a customer facing role, they need to act politely and professionally at all times.

Had the pleasure of having Ron come out and replace the shut offs on my washing machine. He was on time, courteous, used Covid precautions and was very professional . He was able to come by the very day I called them and was very reasonable with his pricing.
 I would definitely recommend them and look forward to working with them again in the future.

I really enjoyed working with Green Energy Mechanical for our furnace replacement. It is clear that Jonathan knows a lot about the industry and gave a thorough outline of the options. We had a great experience with them.

First time user. Fixed a shower that needed a new diverter and a valve put back on. Another plumber had disassembled it. I had a bunch of parts, old and new. Dorin arrived and figured out the correct parts to use.  Was courteous, professional and thorough. Will certainly use them again if needed. Highly recommended.

They arrived on time, were professional and friendly, and did a great job in short order at a fair price.  I couldn't ask for anything more and I'll be calling the again the next time I need any plumbing done.

Perhaps, every business they have their ups and downs and it seems it is down time for Cranney. I booked an appointment for an advisor for adding zones to my heating system and I booked almost a month in advance. I called the day before the appointment and they confirmed that they will be there. I called on the day in the morning and the appointment was supposed to be in the morning. They told me my appointment is canceled due to emergency needs! Here is a thought: how about respecting other people's time? they didn't even bother calling me to tell me that they canceled my appointment! Good luck with your business but you are definitely not getting my business.
