I put out the word here in Yelp! that our hot water heater needed a look-see.

Andrew responded very quickly. When I asked him about his availability, he said, I can do 8:30 tomorrow (Saturday) morning. Um, yeah!

He and his assistant were here on time. They installed a new water heater that works beautifully in under 2 hours. Very reasonable with the price.  What's fantastic is he gace me an all-inclusive price. No gotchas, if you know what I mean.

I'm definitely looking forward to working with him again. And the three other units in our building all had the same water heater as we did and were installed the same day as ours back in 2014.

I had a MassSave audit and the contractor who performed audit said I need to replace my Forced Hot water heating system ASAP.
Called a second plumber and he said the same -- it is old and might stop any time
Wanted a third opinion and called AMC.   Andrew's first question was - Why do you want to replace it?   He then explained that it would run for at least another 5 years or more .  
Found a professional who gives the correct advise even if it means losing profit.

Con: They said that they would send me a quote the day after seeing the issue but I have yet to receive anything and I've reached out a least a couple times.

Pro - They were very responsive at first.

Andrew replied to my message in a timely manner and gave a reasonable quote.  He and Nick showed up on time and serviced our 3 hot water heaters professionally. Very happy!

Our tenants called us over the weekend reporting a leaking water heater.  Contractor Home Depot put us in contact with wouldn't install for many days so we reached out to AMC Mechanical and they were able replace the water heater the very next morning! Andrew and his team was responsive and timely, great communication and really did a great job. Would absolutely use them in the future. Highly recommend.

We came home from a trip to find our residential hot water tank had cracked and leaked all over the basement. I was able to reach Andrew at AMC quickly by phone on the weekend, got a quote on the spot, and confirmed replacement first thing Monday morning. He arrived on time, was professional, and did the work as described. Our hot water was back on within 24 hours. Great pro, would recommend for any plumbing needs!

Our in sink disposal rusted out. We called AMC and they are arrived in 20 minutes. Did a great repair at a reasonable price. I would plan on using them again for our plumbing needs.

Andrew was phenomenal to work with. He gave me a quick quote on Yelp, very fairly priced for a faucet replacement. Since my place is on the east coast and I live on the west coast, Andrew offered to pick up a kitchen faucet of my choosing. He gave me great recommendations based on what I asked for and stayed close to my suggested budget when picking out the sink. Once it was installed, he was kind enough to send me video so I knew it was all set! Highly recommended!

We've hired Andrew twice now, once to fix a clogged drain and once to replace a kitchen faucet. In both cases, he arrived within hours (he even got here an hour earlier than expected once... when does THAT ever happen?), did the work quickly, was very friendly, charged a fair price, and -- most importantly -- his repairs are holding up great. We highly recommend him and will definitely hire him again if and when the need arises!

We are very happy with AMC Mechanical.  Our previous plumber retired and we needed a new one one for our home and rental unit. Andrew performed about $2,000 in repairs to the heating systems. He responded quickly to our inquiries, was easy to communicate with, gave us accurate and fair estimates promptly, showed up on time to do the work, and clearly explained any problems that he ran into with this old house. He was respectful of our health concerns.  And his costs were quite reasonable. We are glad to say we have found a new plumber, and will be calling Andrew again.

Andrew quickly responded to my request online. Scheduling a site visit was easy. Once on-site, he swiftly diagnosed the problem was an outdated toilet, and gave great recs on buying a new one. With a new toilet purchased, he installed it in under an hour. Thanks for making this process straightforward and painless.

I can't recommend Andrew highly enough.  When my tenant's water heater gave out on a Sunday morning, Andrew returned my call within half an hour, and made an appointment for the next day.   He called me that day to tell me he was running AHEAD of schedule, and could he come an hour early.  I was thrilled.  He came over, made a list of supplies, went and got them, and did the job in a couple of hours.  He was extremely generous in answering questions, not just about the water heater, but even about my other appliances.  I love finding a local sole proprietor I can trust and recommend to others.

AMC replaced our electric hot water heater with a heat pump hot water heater.  We're very happy with how everything came out.

Andrew came right over when I called  about a leaky shut off valve and replaced it with a new one.

Our toilet was broken and kept overfilling, Andrew showed up early and was nice and professional. Fixed the issue in half and hour. Would definitely hire again if I had any other problems.

Very pleased with all aspects of my experience with AMC for a plumbing issue. Andrew responded to my request right away, immediately scheduled an appt and showed up when expected. Was able to troubleshoot to find the problem and fixed the issue within hours. I called him back to evaluate the issue and he was again responsive and prompt.

Our commercial series kitchen sink faucet ruptured a hose and was inoperable at a time we had company staying with us over the holiday season.  Not only did Andrew come out quickly, but was he prepared, professional, and helped us both through the process of getting up and running temporarily, and getting a replacement for the product (which was under warranty but discontinued).  Highly recommended.

Very fair pricing! I had a faucet that needed to be replaced but, bc of old Boston plumbing, I couldn't get it off myself. I dreaded paying someone else to do it, thinking it would cost me hundreds, but Andrew gave me a fair price. He was easy to work with and communicated well.

I hired Andrew to install a garbage disposal that I had already purchased. It was slightly larger than the old one, so I was worried it would be a tight fit and told Andrew this over the phone before the job. The first thing he does is yank the old disposal out so hard that the sink dislodges. Then to fix the sink he pulls out the dishwasher, breaking the copper connecting pipe. He putting the sink back haphazardly with a gap between the top and the counter. I ask if he is going to caulk it and he says he doesn't do that -- seems to me like a standard thing for a plumber.

Finally, he tries to put the new disposal in. It doesn't fit and he can't figure out a way to get to go in. Frustrated, he asks me to pay him $300 and says he wants to leave (his original estimate was $150-200). I offer him $200 for his time, but he won't accept the payment. Then he leaves, with the dishwasher still out of its place. He comes back because he forgot his phone, I ask him to reconnect the dishwasher He reluctantly does so and it starts leaking so he just shuts off the supply. He says the connecter is broken and I should go get a new one myself and he will install it the next day. I go out and buy the hose, but then he refuses to come back and install it. So now I have no disposal, a broken sink and a broken dishwasher.

I found Andrew to be very unprofessional. Some jobs are challenging. To get frustrated and take it out on the customer, and to leave the customer's kitchen in worse condition than you found it is unacceptable. At least he didn't accept my money in the end, so I can pay another plumber to fix the dishwasher he broke.

Needed a new boiler and water heater installed. Andrew was incredibly responsive and walked me through all aspects of the job. He was very easy to work with and knowledgeable about the project. Ultimately did an excellent job at a really great price. Had an issue pop up a week in and Andrew came by quickly at no charge and fixed it. Will absolutely work with him again in the future for any plumbing or boiler needs.

I moved into a new apartment 3 months ago and the bathroom desperately needed an overhaul. After reaching out to a few friends for a plumbing recommendation I was pointed towards Collins Mechanical. Andrew came out to my house, quoted me a new toilet, stand up shower, bath tub and sink. His prices were reasonable, and after I gave him the go ahead work started immediately. He was very agreeable with some changes  I had mid project and accommodated alll my requests. I am thrilled wIth the results, and his work speaks for itself..

I had a problem with my boiler- Andrew offered to come out right away, and unlike other plumbers was happy to give a free estimate of what needed to be done. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about the work. He was flexible about scheduling, and did the work promptly. Will most definitely call him again. Highly recommend!

I was so glad to find AMC Mechanical when our gas dryer died. Andrew responded promptly and professionally at every stage of the process. We ended up being Home Depot's first delivery of the day and Andrew ensured that he arrived right when they did (7:30 am on a Saturday morning!). He worked incredibly efficiently and made sure to test that the dryer was working properly. I have highly recommended him to my friends in the Boston area and would definitely call him again for any future plumbing jobs.

My garbage disposal started leaking one random night and the plumber I worked with before had relocated to a different area. So i took to Yelp at 10pm on a Wednesday night and luckily found Andrew. He was so responsive and clear in his communication. By Thursday morning, we had an appointment scheduled. He was so flexible and worked with my schedule--and even came out on a day off without charging a weekend or emergency fee. He arrived promptly and kept me posted on the issue (garbage disposal needed replacement). So then, he drove to the nearest Home Depot to pick up the model we agreed on. Nicest guy ever! He was so professional and transparent. If I ever need a plumber again, he'll be my first call.
