Best A/C Installation in Minneapolis MN
Strangest contractor experience of my life. They sent an employee out to our house for an inspection. He was super thorough, answered all of my questions, taught me a lot. That was on a Tuesday. Six days later, I hadn't received an estimate! So on Monday morning I called the office, and asked if we'd be getting an estimate. I added, if it wasn't a job they wanted, they could simply tell me. The gentleman on the phone assured me that they are very straightforward, and added that he'd emailed an estimate on Thursday. I looked in my inbox and SPAM folder, but there was nothing. He then replied that he figured out the problem: somebody had made a typo and left the m off the .com part of my address [eye-roll]. He promised to send the estimate right away, and follow up later in the day.
I never received the estimate, or the follow-up! Nothing. Nada.
My recommendation? Don't waste your time with Marvel.

I used Ouverson to install a new sewer line from my home to the main line per city codes and I was very impressed with Troy and his crew. They were meticulous. They dug a 6x6 hole in my yard and did the installation. When they were done, you could hardly tell. again, very impressed. I can't say enough good about their work.

Calling around for a plumber is never fun and usually means something broke and needs to be replaced, which means $$$$$. Pete at PJS Plumbing will be my first call next time and all the time. I called late Friday needing a hot water replacement and got an estimate from Pete which was considerably less than other places. He called around and got me a water heater for the price he said it would be and it was installed almost by the time I woke up on Tuesday. Its funny that I don't even feel like I spent money, but I saved money compared to the 'other guys' prices. I actually rounded off the price and gave Pete more money. I've already recommended him to a friend. Don't change your phone number, I will be calling to use your services again. But hopefully I wont need to :)

Our pipe was leaking through the top floor bathroom and into our office area on the first floor. We needed emergency services and Hibernian was there. He showed up on time, had the right PVC piping to solve the problem, and fixed our issue. He was engaging and so helpful! The price was much less than anticipated. He saved our 4th of July weekend! Amazing professionalism, fun conversation, and our new go to plumber! Will be recommending him to all our friends!

We had a clogged main drain. Our Home service connected us with a company who was a no show. John's was called and not only did they come right away, they were 15 min EARLY!!! Our technician Nick was very professional!! I would highly recommend them!!!!
Minneapolis, MN 55432
The technician was nice and did not charge us because he could not unclog our sewer main.
He however told us we would need to dig up the front yard and replace a 10 foot section of pipe the NEXT day (or we would have to wait a week), for anywhere between $4200-$6000. The whole thing felt like high pressure sales and we told him we would wait on that decision.
Got a 2nd opinion the next day from Cardinal plumbers, they were able to drill through the roots and unclog the drain main using sharper, smaller blades. The price was reasonable and did not include a major dig.
We might use roto in the future for maintenance root removal, but not for an expert opinion.
Update: Roto-rooter contacted me about this experience with their business and this negative review.
The manager explained that Roto-rooter does not use smaller blades because they can get stuck in the sewer main, which necessitates an excavation. I can appreciate that is a liability for the company to take on.
However, in the midst of a sewer main emergency (or any emergency really), the most anyone can hope for is helpful information. I am more attracted to businesses who give expert advise, EVEN if it means directing me to other, more specialized businesses. As I was calling around to other plumbers, I was told by 3 companies that if there were roots in the main, they could for sure open the line. And sure enough they did.
I am leaving this review up because I would like to communicate to people who are looking for information - maybe they are in an emergency situation like we were.
Get a second opinion before you dig.

Discount Rooter is my new favorite plumber. First to respond to my Yelp quote request, best quote offered, and at my house within a couple hours to fix my clogged basement drain. Tech talked me through every step and gave me helpful tips as well. Great customer service... and got a refrigerator magnet as well. Highly recommend!
4318 Upton Ave S, Ste 210, Minneapolis, MN 55410
Had paid him $500.00 over a week and after he changed out a part in the toilet it started making a loud and annoying sound. He lives 2 miles from me and has to travel on a street a block from my house frequently. He was going to charge me $145+ $20.00 trip charge to drive 1 block. I can't believe that he wouldn't be willing to stop and look at the toilet that until he worked on it didn't make this loud sound. Not very smart on his part as he has proven to not be customer focused and a true gouger.
3992 Pennsylvania Ave, Eagan, MN 55123
They arrived when they said they would and completed the work effectively. I appreciated the time they took to explain how the appliances functioned and the alternatives available to repair or replace. They were neat in their appearance and work. Professional all around! Prices were mid range to upper mid but you get what you pay for.

We bought an 85-year-old house and that means one thing - galvanized pipes. Otherwise known as swiss cheese, aka, going to leak and burst whenever I feel like it, aka, go ahead you cheapo and roll the dice and not replace me.
I know a plumber back east and he told get rid of the galvi ASAP. Um, ok. So I called a few plumbers. Some were really cheap, like do the math and you wonder it takes X days and Y material, how do you stay in business? Another big shop in town was very expensive and seemed like they were adding little things here and there to the estimate.
Erickson's guy, Mike, was very nice and was thorough and was clear on not needing things that the other high-priced shop proposed. He explained the residential codes to me and why I did not need certain things. He did preface that this was not going to be cheap. He walked through all the things that needed to be done and how long it took and I realized that this was going to take several days of someone working all day and knocking out walls and ceilings. This was a big project.
Their estimate was expensive, but still about 15% lower than one of the other big guys in town. But, I got a good feeling about them. So I gave Erickson the work.
They came in an installed pex and ripped out all the galvanized across 3 floors of my house. They did an excellent job and would not hesitate having them back in the future.

The owner, Matt, did an excellent job. He was very professional, took the time to answer questions, and was very punctual. Both visits he said he would be there at 9AM and both times he was exactly on-time. In the past I have called the bigger guys with flashy vans and been left waiting...and waiting...and eventually the 2 hour window turns into more like three or four hours.
I will be using Matt and his team for all my plumbing needs in the future!

We used Southtown Plumbing twice this summer. The first visit was more of an emergency call to fix two things that needed immediate attention, and the second was to replace something that we had put off for a few years. In both cases, they showed up on time, diagnosed the problems and made the repairs quickly and properly. Todd, the plumber for both visits, was extremely professional, always wore a mask, and cleaned up well after completing the work. They charge time and materials, and were very reasonably priced. They are by far the best plumbing company we've ever used. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Rumpca just installed a new hot water boiler and water softener in my home. They did an excellent job! The workmanship was great. The got the job done in a timely manner and the final bill was the exact same amount as the quote. 5 stars all the way!! They are definitely my new go to for all my heating, cooling and plumbing needs.

I have a ceiling fun in my staircase with switches on three levels. Wanted a dedicated juice wire just for that fun, independent from the ceiling light (they are at present on the same circuit).
Have done a lot of DIY, but thought a would get a professional for this particular job, since our condo has six levels. The fellow came with a fully equipped truck as the girl on the phone said (what professional doesn't come with the tools of his trade?). Before even asking what was to be done, he presented books of their company's BBB rating which made me wary. Than It took me more than 15 minutes to explain what I wanted a ceiling fan hooked up on a separate circuit - got the feeling that the guy tried very hard not to understand a very simple procedure I wanted. After spending another hour looking at the switchboard and writing estimates he came up with three figures ranging between 3 and 4 thousand dollars with a small discount if I subscribe to their club with a monthly fee... Which would include the rewiring for practically the whole house. And all that for hooking up a ceiling fa... I assume it was the same Paul mentioned in another review (like taking a car for an oil change and being told you need to rebuild the whole engine. This is a classical scam procedure and I don't care how many stars they have from some people they can scare with their ridiculous sales pitch.
BTW. On their flier they advertised a whole house inspection for $49, than after I called, the girl on the phone said he could come within three hours for $59 or within two hours for $79 which already sounded fishy.
Hands off is my advice.

great guy. had a sewer back up. needed a new line. Richard had used a camera and you could see it was shot. he gave me a price and I decided to do the work. I have used them for years on my electric, heat and a/c so I trusted them. they started to dig and the water just poured in. Richard, Ryan, Axel and sam worked like dogs on a bone to get this job done. it was really bad. they kept me up to date on things but I could see how hard it was going for them. the frustration was visible to me. they got it done. best part was not a penny more and now it all works. thanks guys and sorry it was so hard. Mother Nature can be a fickle thing. I will keep using them.

Contracted Sabre to install a garage heater which involved installing vent, running gas line from mechanical room, and installing the heater and thermostat. Top notch and did everything they said they would. Communication from both the office staff and field team was phenomenal and exceeded my expectations. I'd disregard older reviews. I can't speak to their service back then, maybe they made changes. They were prompt, on-time, and did exactly what they said they would. Thank you!

No complaint about the actual work. They unblock my drain using an auger. The plumber was nice and polite. The only thing was the price. They wanted $99 just to come and take a look at it and $310 for the job. That would of been $409 for basically of putting the auger down the drain for 15 feet. That part was about 10 minutes long. I complained about the price and they agree to waive the service fee which only made me suspicious. They would not give me a ball park estimate over the phone and insist on the plumber looking at it first. But when the plumber got here he basically gave me two options which they could of done over the phone. The plumber did not examine or do anything bc there's the standing water, it's backup. I originally thought that the service fee would be waived automatically if I agree to have the job done. Should of ask about that first. That part was my fault but my basement was overflowing, was in a tight spot, and unless you gone through it once you don't know what to ask!
I have never deal with other places so I don't know how much they charge but a google search says that the average price in MN for this type of job average about $200. That's my experience with this place. I would not recommend this to friend, family or anyone.

I had the install team of Ray and Jesse for a dishwasher I purchased at Best Buy. The installers were experts at what they were doing and were very helpful and courteous. They were also very timely and did not take longer than an hour. Excellent service; while they were contracted by Best Buy and I was unaware of who was doing my install, I would contact them independently if I needed anything for plumbing or install because they were fantastic!

They have an online scheduling system, which I used, but they never showed up. I got confirmation emails and texts, even reminder texts. But no show, no call, no nothing.
