I called in on Monday morning for a clogged sewer drain. They quoted more a flat fee and had someone available instantly. They were there for about 3 hrs, replaced one part in addition to clearing the sewer line. The party cost a little extra. The service tech was curtious and agreat help.  All in all, money well spent. As a new homeowner, I wanted a professional to inspect our sewer lines so we didn't have any nasty surprises. John's Sewer came highly recommended from several people and they were absolute pros. They were quick and clean! I would definitely use them again for any future issues or just for regular maintenance.

I rarely write reviews unless I feel a strong sense to share a positive experience with others, and that's the situation I find myself in today. I am a new home owner, and while I consider myself fairly saavy with many tasks, plumbing is not something I particularly strong at. Given that, when my drain started backing up at 6 pm on a Sunday night, things were not looking good. After frantically trying to fix the problem myself, I knew that I needed a professional, and so I set out to google. John's was the third or fourth result that came up, but for some reason, they were my first call.

By this time it was 9 p.m. o'clock on Sunday. I called the number, spoke to a women and was told I would get a call back within a few minutes. I did, and the guy on the phone was helpful and friendly. He asked if I could manage without running water until the next day. I hesitantly said yes, especially after he told me it would be considerably cheaper for me. He warned me that they had been very busy the last few days and that they had some jobs in the morning, but even in the face of a nasty storm, someone would be over around lunchtime (and they'd call and give me a heads up).

Well, the next day, someone called exactly when I was told they would. He told me he'd be there as soon as he could, but driving was difficult, which made sense. Nonethless, Eddie showed up just as promised. He immediately diagnosed the problem and started working. He couldn't find the cleanout that he wanted, but a little troubleshooting and we were well underway. The entire process was around an hour, which was within the 1 hour of labor that came with the flat fee.

Any plumber can clear a drain, but it takes a good businessman to understand that at the very least, this is an annoying time for someone, and at the most, this can create financial hardship. Eddie was great at education, and he spent the whole time chatting with me, giving me tips and pointers about things not to do, things to look out for etc. All in all, it was $170 extremely well spent.

I'm not particularly fond of brand loyalty, but I know that next time I have a plumbing issue, John's will be my first and hopefully only call.

Our kitchen sink was clogged so I reached out on Yelp to John's Sewer and Drain for an estimate that evening after reading the reviews online. They responded with an estimate within 20 minutes noting they would be over the next morning. We negotiated a time that worked and they arrived promptly on time! They snaked the kitchen drain, removing some black goop and suddenly we had a free flowing draining again. All complete within 30 minutes. I would definitely recommend these guys to friends and neighbors and we will be using them for future projects. Very satisfied customer!!

Our kitchen sink is over 50 feet from the main drain. It will get a clog near the end on occasion. Tried a gallon of drain cleaner but no luck. Called John's and got an appointment right away. The plumber came on time and snaked out the drain in short order. And get this..... It was over $200 less than the last company that did the same job!! Really happy! We will use them again!

Great Service and fast Response time

My mom had a main sewer line clog that happened suddenly on Sunday Night ( Feb 5, 2017) She had nasty junk all over her basement and I had no idea who to call for this type of service. I looked on yelp and saw this company and the raving reviews. I called (Monday Feb 6 2017 at 9 am)and they could get someone out here same day between 1 and 3 pm. Great!! they called at 11 am and said they had an opening and they could get someone here sooner, a tech could be at the house by  noon. Awesome, I was pleased as my moms home was starting to smell like a pig farm. Gross!!

The gentleman arrived and got to work on the clog. It turned out to be roots causing the blockage.  He ran the line ( I don't know what its called,big metal cable) out 100 feet and back a total of 6 time to clean out the blockage. He was very sweet to my mom who is a little confused at the age of 76.
Very thankful that they could come out and help us in such short notice. I was expecting a huge bill but I was very happy with the cost since it was an urgent matter. I would defiantly call these guys again if I required their service.

Unable to shower or use toilet.  Called at 7:23 am, and within an HOUR on the SAME DAY I CALLED, Phil (Super Plumber!!) was here.  I was quoted a price, and charged the amount quoted.  Plus I got a 6 month guarantee - if I'm plugged again within 6 months, gratis service.  Phil was knowledgeable, friendly, and polite.  I would call them again in a heartbeat!  Don't even waste your time calling anyone else.

Called to schedule appointment for problem with kitchen drain.  I live less than two miles from their office.  Was first told I was out of area and I attempted to explain that I lived nearby.  Then put on hold a total of three times and the person still couldn't understand that I wasn't many miles away.  She wanted to put me on hold again, but I told her that if she couldn't find an address two miles or less from their office, then I wouldn't trust them with plumbing issues.  Horrible!

I called them because of the reviews on here and as impressed as everyone else.  They came to fix a clog in the kitchen sink.  When I called they were courteous, the person who came over was courteous.  From the time I called to when my drain was clear was maybe three hours.

Awesome service and VERY fast response. We did a load of laundry one day to find that our slow-draining laundry sink became a no-draining laundry sink. I messaged them around 8pm and someone came out right away the next morning (I completely forget his name, but he was great). After a nasty unclogged sink and HUGE rush of water, it is now draining perfectly and we couldn't be happier. Thanks for the quick, awesome service.

Saturday night the man goes down into the basement to check on laundry just to find that there was a puddle of water from our floor drain. He ended up choking it with the back of our squeegee stick and the went down.

We figured it was just a fluke. Then on Sunday the man printed up some papers and had to go downstairs to grab it from the extra room and when he stepped into the room he felt water on the carpet. Like what the heck! He opens the door to the laundry room and finds an overflow of water from the floor drain again!

Of course then I was called down to see it and help him move all our stuff into the dry area of the basement. Yes, I know we could have taken it upstairs but seriously? I wasn't about to mess with the stairs.

We decided to let the water go down like before and check in on it the next morning since it was already 11:30pm.

I couldn't sleep for the life of me because i kept thinking, how much is this going to cost me? What are we going to do? You know the usual stuff that runs through a women's mind when she finally has time to rest and think. So I started going through Yelp and found the great reviews on this place. I checked out other ones too but I kept coming back to this one.

6am the next morning we went down to check on the basement and the water went down again. So then the man decides he's going to shower up and get ready for his day. Not even 2 minutes into the shower I check the basement and again the water came up.

I made the man stop since he wasn't truly soaked in suds just yet and we decided to breakout our ER fund and get this looked at.

I told him this was who I wanted to go with and we called at 7am, two rings in, someone picked up right away. They were very courteous even though we probably woke them up from their dream of being anywhere but near a drain pipe. He got our name, address and said he'll get someone out as soon as possible; within 2 hours.

At 8:30 we received a call that the guy was on his way. He got here at 8:45 and got to it. We asked for an estimated cost and the young gentleman said $170 but if it takes any longer than 2 hours to find the issue it'll cost a little more. No more than 10 minutes in, he found the issue and started on the fixing.

He cut out the root that was growing into the pipes and made way for water flow. Throughout the process he was very kind and explained what was going on and how he was going to help us relieve some stress (mentally and financially).

He was done and out of the house before 10am. Before he left he gave us a 30 day guaranty and instructions on how to maintain the situation. He suggested upkeep preventative but wasn't up selling- just informative.

They were great and we appreciate their help! We will definitely use John's services in the future.

Had a clog when I was out of town.  They responded to my request immediately and scheduled same day service.  Price was good, workmanship was excellent. Problem solved at a very reasonable cost. I'd definitely do business with John's in the future.

Our drain was clogged with lint and greese. Jordan came out right on time and fixed the issue in about 15 minutes. Excellent service! And not too pricey either. Thank you!

I had a backup in both my tub and sink lines, which happened on a Saturday.  I called 2 other plumbers which had good reviews here on Yelp.  Neither of them so much as returned my call.  Fed up, I called John's Plumbing on Monday afternoon and they had someone out 2 hours later.  They were very reasonably priced.  Would use again.

I called this place because of the glowing reviews, but neglected to notice that they only do drain cleaning. We had a clogged drain, and had tried to unclog it ourselves to no avail. We suspected that the problem was beyond a mere unclogging, and we were right. We are going to need to replace the drum. Happily plumber Nate was prompt, efficient, and best of all did not charge us anything. He used a motorized snake which was better than our manual snake, and had no better luck with it than we did. He gave us the numbers of two companies that could fix our problem for us. I will call this company again if we need a drain unclogged.

We had John's come out to fix a clogged shower drain. I contacted them in the evening via their website, and they were prompt in responding and they got a guy out the next morning - I was so impressed. The guy fixed our drain quickly, and was super friendly and professional. I will definitely use them for any other problems I come across.

Sewer was plugged! I called early Monday morning and Ruber arrived on time and he surveyed the problem, set up his  machine and cleaned out the tree roots that clogged the sewer line. We were very satisfied with the job and the price of 170.00

Fabulous service and fast!  I thought i had a $1000 + sewer project and was prepared for the worst, but they were here within 2 hours and it turned out to be two simple drain issues that cost $120 and took less than 45 minutes to be free flowing once again.  I tell EVERYONE about them.  Keep in mind, they don't do plumbing work (installing water lines and such) just clearing drains and sewers.  If that is your issue, John's is all you need.

We had a floor drain backing up on a Sunday evening. We contacted John's based on Yelp! reviews. It was suggested that if we could wait until normal business hours the charge would be less - non-emergency. First, that is quality that a company suggests ways that could reduce the fees. Fortunately we were able to wait until normal business hours. Second, the service person Nate gave us a call prior to coming over to see if we were home. He told us he could come over earlier than scheduled - great! When Nate got here he was very friendly and responsive. He listened to my explanation and immediately understood the problem. Within a half hour he had snaked out the mainline and we both heard and witnessed the water freely flowing again. No sales pushes, no unnecessary work, friendly and professional. John's also guarantees the repair for six months. We will certain use again. Highly recommended. Thanks!

There was a backup in my drain that was causing the water from my kitchen sink, dishwasher and washing machine to fill up my overflow sink in my basement.  After my own failed attempts to snake the drain I gave up and decided to call a plumber before I made a big mess of things.  I called John's yesterday at 4pm and they were here at 9am this morning.  The gentleman who cleaned my drain was named Kris and was very friendly and professional.  He was in and out within 40 minutes.  He also gave me some great advice for other general plumbing issues and main cleaning/maintenance.  So all around fantastic service and professionalism, I will definitely be calling these guys again when I need my main cleaned out.  Also, these guys were the cheapest legitimate drain cleaning company that I could find - $99!

Oh my, I thought I had already written this review, but in the midst of all we went through I guess I missed it. I can't say enough about the great job personnel from John's Sewer and Drain did when our entire basement was inundated with sewage.  As it turned out, the entire drainage system was blocked with bamboo toilet paper that did not break down. They arrived twice w/in a couple of hours and the price was affordable.  It was a horrific, nasty mess but their technician stayed until everything was cleared out.  I'll spare you the images of what he found, but we later did a little test w/bamboo TP (brand REEL) and Scott's brand.  We put two sheets in a glass of water and then waited to see what broke down best. The bamboo did NOT break down very well, see attached pic.

Messaged John's on Yelp on a Sunday night as I had a clog in my main line and needed a clean out. Someone on the other end responded within 10 minutes with an up-front quote on what they thought I would need. Shopped around a little and found this price to be a good value. I called Monday morning and they had someone out here about an hour later. The technician was professional and was committed to doing a great job. He quickly found the clog and broke through it. While he could have stopped at that point, he kept going through the clog multiple times to get it cleaned up the best he could. I would call John's again in a pinch.

John's Sewer and Drain were excellent, excellent, excellent. It was great to work with such a great company with great values. 100% would recommend them.

We thought we had a line problem. They came the same day we called. Then, when became clear it wasn't a line problem and we needed to call an appliance repairperson, our technician didn't charge us at all for the 30 min service call. Once we realized it was our dishwasher and our tech had left, he came back a few minutes later because he thought of something small that might help us fix the problem, even though it wasn't the drain. He was so awesome.

We've been given inflated, outrageous invoices from other repair companies in South Minneapolis--partially, I think because as the person who works from home and meets them, they like to take advantage because I'm a woman. We would have been happy to pay for his time, so it was great to get a fair price and even more awesome that we didn't get charged at all.

Very good service, called their answering services on Saturday morning, Nate called me back in 5 minutes and came out in the afternoon.  Very nice guy who took care of the problem quickly and was very professional.  Took care to put tire covers and shoe covers on so he and the machine he used would not get the floor dirty or damage anything.  I'll use them again if we have a problem and would recommend calling them if you have one.

Pierre was super professional and timely with his repairs.  Offer up very helpful advise as well!!  Highly recommend John's service, and definitely will use their services again!!

I requested a quote yesterday and they never got back to me. Today there is no need anymore because I called Roto Rooter, what they say request a quote in an hour time is not true.

Michael expertly diagnosed and corrected  a complicated drain clog.  We had had another incorrectly address this problem before, which is really why this call was needed.  The tech arrived within an hour of calling the company on a Sunday, and made no mess whatsoever.  Highly recommended.

We had a clogged main drain. Our Home service connected us with a company who was a no show. John's was called and not only did they come right away, they were 15 min EARLY!!!  Our technician Nick was very professional!!  I would highly recommend them!!!!

I had an idea of the pricing going into it and it actually ended up being in the low end of the quote. Quick service and friendly tech. He explained everything well.  Everything was resolved with the visit.  I would use them again.

Water was entering my basement through the floor drain.  I selected John's Sewer and Drain Cleaning on account of the great Yelp reviews and score.  I left a message with John's answering service at 7:11pm last night (Tuesday), and received a call back from Nick at 7:16pm.  Nick arrived about 8:00pm.  Nick determined that the main waste line from my house to the city sewer system (about 75' long) was blocked.   Nick cleared the waste line, and while using a drain line camera showed me that the line was clear, and explained how a slight depression in the pvc pipe (he referred to it as a belly) was prone to clogging over time.  The belly was visible with the camera, because it had some water in it, after the line had been cleared.  Nick used floor covering to protect the floor while he worked.  Nick was friendly, professional, wore a mask, and completed the work in under 75 minutes.  I think the price was reasonable for the work, particularly considering that it was done at night.  I would definitely use John's again if I have another drain problem.  Thank you Nick and John's; and thank you, Yelp reviewers, who pointed me to such a responsive and professional company.

An amazing experience! Our basement sink stopped draining late on a Wednesday night. I looked for quotes here on Yelp and woke up on Thursday to a message from Scott at John's Sewer and Drain Cleaning with a quote as well as a few times they could come by that same day and fix the drain (in 2 hour windows, way better than the 8 hours from some places).

The service person arrived on time (slightly early in fact), wore a mask for safety, and went to work. Within half an hour our drain was clean and running like new. He cleaned up after himself and the cost was exactly as quoted.

I felt safe having this person in our home and I REALLY appreciated that they messaged me back over Yelp. I had a couple businesses call me to give me quotes but I really love when businesses communicate in the same way that you've reached out to them!

I will definitely keep John's Sewer and Drain Cleaning at the top of my list the next time we leave too much hair in our sink!

Epically clogged sink on a Saturday. Called them at 6:30pm. Sink was fully functional at 8pm. This blows my mind. I'm hopeful I'll never need to use them again, but I'm glad to know they're around if I do. Oh, and as you might assume, there is a surcharge to have them come out evenings or weekends (I think it's about 50% more expensive). That said, all things considered, I still thought the rate was pretty reasonable considering how fast it all went down.

Awesome service !!!  Had an issue Christmas Day with a back up in the downstairs bathroom.  They came out the next day and took care of our issue.  Reasonable price and would recommend this company.

My main sewer line was clogged and on the coldest day of the year! Found John's Drain via the web and was instantly impressed with the speed of their response to my water-logged basement. They answered the phone during off-hours, showed up on time, cleared my main line, cleaned up after themselves and it was extremely reasonable. I'm a big fan. I've added John to my 'faves' on my phone.

We had our main drain backing up in our basement and no drain clearing chemical or snake was helping.  We called John's Sewer and Drain Cleaning on a Monday morning and they were out within a few hours! The tech quickly cleared a few bucket fulls of roots from our drain.  He also explained how we will need to maintain this going forward.  We were so happy they could come out so quickly! We will definitely have them come out for routine maintenance visits on those pesky roots...

I went on the recommendation of the yelp review because I had a laundry room flooding emergency! I was greeted by a very pleasant customer service agent who took my information and was able to get me set up for an appointment same day. I got a call back from Jason not even 30 minutes later saying he would be there in 15 minutes to fix my clog. He was professional and efficient and even gave me a helpful hint on how to prevent this problem from happening in the future. Will definitely recommended them again and they didn't break the bank!

Someone answered the phone promptly when I called. I explained my problem (slow draining tub) and was told someone could be out within a few hours and was given a price. Kris called by the expected time, did a fast and thorough drain cleaning job. He fixed a leaky shower head gratis. He was professional, courteous, advised me on a related plumbing issue, gave me a referral, and answered a ton of questions. I had a great first experience with John's Sewer/Drain.

Should it matter to you, it's a small company of seven people.

We were leaving on an extended trip the next morning and our sink backed up. We called our usual plumbers and all were busy and unable to accommodate an emergency call. But John's sewer and drain cleaning agreed to come out within an hour and 40 minutes later our problem was solved. Not only did they do fabulous work but the plumber was a super nice guy. I highly recommend this company based on this one experience.

My kitchen sink and dishwasher backed up, flooding my kitchen into the basement. Called John's around 1:30 and had someone out by 3:00 same day! I forgot to mention the $15 discount for drain cleaning but price was still reasonable. Excellent service from the rep, thanks! EDIT: they contacted me after seeing my review and are refunding $15! Great customer service!

We live in a condo on the first floor. There are 2 floors above us and we share a bathroom sewer pipe. Our  toilet and tub started filling up with our upstairs neighbors waste water. We were desperately bailing but still had minor flooding. We contacted our upstairs neighbors and they stopped flushing and the situation stabilized. We googled and John's came up and we called.  Kyle called and was hear within 40 minutes. He had the problem resolved within 30 minutes including running water and flushing to be sure we were 100%. The price was reasonable for a Sunday evening call. We highly recommend them!!

We had just moved into our new home.  As new homeowners we had heard that inevitably something will break when you move into a new house, but didn't expect it the very first night.  After throwing in a load of laundry, I went into a basement closet and felt wetness on my feet.  We did a search to find John's Sewer and Drain and had a great experience with Nick. He was able to unclog the drain and reassure us that our sewer was in good shape in general.  Don't hesitate to call.

Fantastic service at a great price!

We had our basement drain next to our washer start to fill with water after taking a shower and washing our clothes. It was Mother's day and we didn't have a lot of options. We found John's after a bit of googling and good reviews and reached out to them. They were willing to send someone out that same day, but the price had an increase as expected. Thankfully the water did drain and we decided to wait until the next day.

Pat came out and was prompt and very quick to find the problem. After pulling out a large amount of roots, he confirmed it was all cleared out by sending a camera down the main line. He showed me on the cam and made us feel much more comfortable.

Highly recommend these guys as they are affordable and do a fantastic job!
