Best Gas Furnace Repair in Indianapolis IN
Over the last few months, my furnace has become an ongoing saga. While it's only 5-6 years old, the simple truth is it's had more than a few issues. While I believed that I had the issues resolved when the blower motor was replaced a couple months ago, I continued to have issues with a fan that simply wouldn't turn off and was massively driving up my utility bills.
I replaced the thermostat with the help of the company that replaced the blower motor, though their opinion was that a control board was likely needed. Since they'd generously offered to install the thermostat for a relatively slight fee, it was agreed that we'd see if the thermostat might help the issue.
Of course, it didn't.
I had the feeling that I needed a second opinion. I don't know why, but I just kind of felt like something was being missed. I had a friend whose ordinary heating person agreed to come look at it, but he never followed through.
So, finally, on a sick day I opted to jump on Yelp and look at some reviews. Early in the morning on a Friday, I contacted a couple companies that offer the get an estimate option. While Chapman's listing didn't offer a fast response, I added them to the list and, in fact, they were the first to respond and it was within minutes.
Due to the complexities of my explanation, they recommended I call in and talk to their scheduling person. I did. I actually talked to two people - both super friendly and helpful. The diagnostic fee was explained up front, at $98, and it was explained that even though I was pretty sure I knew the issue that this was standard to ensure nothing was missed.
While the fee struck me a bit high, I will also note I'd foolishly tossed their discount/coupon that they regularly include in neighborhood mailings. So, that was on me.
I also really just wanted a fresh set of eyes on the furnace and they offered to come by that afternoon between 1-5pm.
At around 2pm, the technician showed up. He was friendly and professional. He took some time to look, weighed what I had said and then found the real problem that, in the end, saved me quite a bit of money. It was a matter of one wire being placed in the wrong location.
That simple. Once that wire was moved? No fan issues or anything. Perfection. No control board was needed.
I learned that Chapman regularly deals with Bryant systems, the same brand as mine, and I also liked that this tech took the time to actually explain things in understandable detail. He called his service manager to make sure charging only the diagnostic fee was fine, but it was clear the intent was to say You don't need a new part. This fixes it.
I was impressed with their timeliness, their honesty, and the fact that after a couple months of being advised in a different direction that the tech truly did some diagnostics and found the issue by thinking outside the box. I liked that he considered my feedback, but trusted his own expertise and, in the end, saved me cash.
Located on the Westside, Chapman works all around Central Indiana and I won't hesitate to return to them for business as my Central Air system will likely be the next thing to need service/replaced.

BUYER BEWARE!! We called this company to assist with a leak in our shower. We had used them before and felt they were fair in their pricing. This time however, they gave an estimate of costs at nearly $2000 to repair a cracked valve. We were surprised at how high the estimate was. Feeling uneasy about the cost, my husband did a little research. He discovered that the valve had a free lifetime replacement warranty. My husband ordered the part from Delta and they shipped the valve to us free of charge. It cost us a little under $100 to repair the whole issue, including replacing the drywall we had to cut out to access the pipes. Needless to say, we felt they were less than honest in their estimate. Additionally, when the tech was in our home, he was commenting about our need to upgrade our water softener and HVAC systems for efficiency purposes, which are still running and in good repair.
After providing us the estimate, the tech never returned to pick up the tools he left at our home. He also didn't clean up the mess he created when he made additional cuts into our drywall when evaluating the cause of the leak. We cannot recommend this plumbing company. If I could give them zero stars, I absolutely would.

Had a toilet installed last fall with another company, and I know I was WAY overcharged. When the other toilet in my house stopped working earlier this year, I contacted Westside Plumbing based on a friend's suggestion. They did the exact same service as the other company, for a MUCH lower price. Arrived on time, were friendly, and the install didn't take too long. Would definitely use WP's services again, and would recommend to others.

The service and service personnel were top notch, experienced, and gave us a great price, very satisfied, and don't have to worry about my basement for a long time!

The technician was very polite and thorough. He arrived in the timeline the company quoted. The work I had done was reasonably priced.

We live in Monticello, Indiana and had our AC unit replaced last week. Jarmy Johnson was a complete professional replacing our AC unit! Absolute Comfort was one of four contractors we received quotes from. Jarmy came out to do our estimate. He was extremely knowledgeable, honest and friendly. During the replacement, Jarmy and Jason were wonderful! Even when they encountered unforeseen issues during the installation, they were able to troubleshoot and quickly solved the problem and still came in at their original quoted price.

Wanted to make sure the AC was good before I bought the house, so I called Johnson Heating and Cooling to check the AC out. Technician said it was in great shape. Moved in a couple of weeks later it has froze up three times. Called to see if they would look at it, since the technician said it was great when it wasn't. They want to charge me to look at it. I could have got credit toward the house for the AC, now im out who knows how much.

Complete bums. Had a service call for no heat. Was 5 hours late. Quoted a new system for $10,000. Another company came out and did a $257 repair and it's good as new. Crooks!

We had our AC go out at O Dark thirty this summer. Action Air was the only company in the area that could come out that night. Gave us 5 star treatment. So when our furnace went out (it was old), they were the first company we called. They weren't the lowest quote and not the highest quote, but along with their customer service, I wouldn't pick another company.

I had a dryer vent that severely packed and needed attention immediately. I made one call to Commercial Service and got an appointment for the following afternoon. They quoted me an average price for that particular work, and it ended up costing on the low end of that estimate. While I was unable to be home for the call, those who were said the technician was not only friendly, but he was extremely thorough and made sure to explain what was done in a way that anyone could understand. He even fixed that dryer hose at no cost, seeing that it was a bit too short to the wall. After he packed up and was heading out, he came back in once more, just to make sure he's cleaned up and connected everything back up for me. What a wonderful experience it was. For any future duct work or issues with my heating and air, I will definitely be putting a call in to Commercial Service.

I forgot one of the first rules of supply and demand. The one that says once you pay for something in advance... like a maintenance agreement... you become the LAST priority for service. Over a 6 week wait just to have routine maintenance. It is clear this company is preying on consumers who initiate these kinds of contracts. Keep control of the situation and don't sign these agreements. Make Summers compete for your business. With service agreements... you lose the ability to force them to compete.

I contacted B&W when another company gave me a high estimate to fix my HVAC I am glad i did . They found the problem that the first company missed. They fixed it for $1400 less than the first companies estimate. I will use them again.

Fast service did a great job at a mainline clog they were in and out in 10 minutes. Didn't try to sell me on anything but told me about other services they offered.

5 star plus!! they are the nicest company to work with. Their staff from answering of the phone to the tech that comes to fix the repair - amazing. So professional and pleasant. The price is definitely reasonable and you know they are being honest. Love this company! Thanks so much for the great experience!

I had them come out to check air conditioner and of course it needed a pound of freon and I signed a service contract with them. I had them come out to check out a noise in my furnace and they said it was the fan motor shaft. It only took 6 trips to get the motor replaced and quiet. They just left from my fall plumbing check. What a waste of time, they checked to see if my faucets leaked, hell they weren't leaking since I replace the seals myself, I expected them to check the water heater, check the elements, thermostats and flush the water heater. Nope, just took the model number and said all was well. I had already checked the elements and thermostats but wanted to see what they said. So I cancelled my contract with them.

This is a devious business plan at best. Advertise free service call with work done, show up and give a ridiculously high estimate (in my case $1,307) and when the work is refused charge a $69 service call fee. I had the work done 2 days later for $360.

I had Mowery out to the house for a drain clearing of my toilet. They sent the guy same day! He was great. Since he couldn't fix it (toy stuck), he didn't charge me! He did offer me the service plan, which I almost bought because at $14/month is a decent deal if you plan to service your AC/Furnace for tune ups in the spring and fall.
Fast forward a couple weeks - my outdoor AC unit wasn't kicking on although the system was calling for air. I did some basic troubleshooting to determine there was no pressure in the lines (it was out of Freon) and most likely had a leak. I called Mowery back (intending to purchase the plan). They pre-called he say before and morning of to let me know their arrival time. So far, so good.
Giss and Jerry arrived on time. After a few minutes they located the leak at the compressor. Giss reported there was a muffler (which threw me off since I have never heard of this and spent a couple years working in HVAC) that went bad. I asked for the part number but he couldn't supply it only stating that it was ordered by his service manager.
Now we have a problem. I was quoted $663 (labor and parts) for a part that cost $21 at the local supply house. This was a 2 hour replacement from start to finish. There was an additional $446 to replace the 9 lbs of Freon from the unit. $50/lb of Freon!? That's DOUBLE what the 1st company I called charges!!
Because they had a service plan option, I could save the equivalent of $100 on the $1000 bill. NEVER. Never would I purchase a contract with a company that would price gauge someone to this extent. I'm completely amazed that someone would have the gall to look me in the face and tell me that a $350 job is going to cost me $1000 then expect me want to use them for all of my future service needs. No F-ING way. I ended up paying for $85 for the service call - which provided me the insight of the bad $20 part.
Before you decide to use this company - they have coupons all the time in the money mailer and junk mail - take it from someone in the service industry. This company doesn't care about you. They just want your contract and credit card number.
What a scam! Beware!
