HISTORY


Established in 1969.
Johnson Heating, Cooling and Plumbing provides heating, air conditioning, and plumbing services to Central Indiana. To this day the company is family owned and operated. Over the years Johnson Heating, Cooling and Plumbing has grown and expanded its services to all of Johnson County. Today Johnson provides heating, cooling, and plumbing services to individuals and companies in Bargersville, Edinburgh, Franklin, Greenwood, New Whiteland, Princes Lakes, Trafalgar, and Whiteland.

ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER


I grew up in the heating, cooling and plumbing industry and have spent several decades on both sides of the industry--residential & commercial. You may be most familiar with our company vehicles which are covered with a distinctive American Flag pattern. We are unapologetically patriotic and love to march in community parades and support our troops and veterans.

I'm very proud that both of our companies invest heavily in our community. Through staff time and sponsorships we support a variety of programs and initiatives focused on Children, Education & Historical Preservation.

Most importantly, I believe in ethical business practices and have made that the foundation of both of my companies. We treat everyone with courtesy, respect and fairness.

Super friendly staff (I mean way over the top friendly, which isn't a bad thing) and great technicians. Luckily I haven't had to utilize a service call, but they have a great service club that is basically like an insurance policy should anything go wrong - you pay a monthly fee to not be charged when your heating or air conditioning goes out in the middle of the night or on the weekend. We deemed this an acceptable gamble when dealing with an exceptionally hot summer with a newborn - we didn't want to run the risk of having the AC go out and having to wait a few days for it to get fixed.

So far so good - the technicians are helpful and service is great. Everything continues to run smoothly thanks to their assistance. Highly recommended!

Wanted to make sure the AC was good before I bought the house, so I called Johnson Heating and Cooling to check the AC out. Technician said it was in great shape. Moved in a couple of weeks later it has froze up three times. Called to see if they would look at it, since the technician said it was great when it wasn't. They want to charge me to look at it. I could have got credit toward the house for the AC, now im out who knows how much.

I don't recommend this company, we hired this company, they went there and did not complete the job. We  and found out from the plumbing company spoke to the tenant and mentioned that the landlord was not willing to fix everything, NOT TRUE!

I could never do business with this company after hearing this from the tenant, absolutely unacceptable.

Go somewhere else!

I called for a quote to install a bathroom faucet, a kitchen faucet and a water heater. A really nice guy came out and quoted me $625.00 for the bathroom faucet, $625.00 for the kitchen faucet and $650.00 for the water heater. Mind you I have all the parts that is just for the install. I told him thanks but No. So then I get an email from the company. They will do my installs for the bargain price of $1,400.00. Still NO.  3 hours work for that price is crazy. ...
So do what I did next..I got out my old paper phone book and found the smallest ad under plumbers and called him. He will do my 2 faucets for $130.00 .He is licensed,bonded and insured..I can't share his name ..he is on my speed dial now..Those big companies have nice big trucks and lots of overhead which means nice big prices.

We have had plumbers from Johnson replace shut off valves and do a yearly inspection.  They were very professional job, very concerned with the quality of their work, and very patient with any questions we had.  I would highly recommend them.

short and curt review. on Wednesday 8/4/21 our A/C went out. My wife called them based on their review? They were quick to respond . The technician told my wife the condensing fan motor was bad. New one would cost $1600. Now the bad news. It will take 4-6 weeks to get the part. But we have new complete units available to install by next week. We don't break down complete units for parts, he said. He also told my wife that a new condensing unit would not match up to the old inside condensing coil so a totall replacement of the entire HVAC was needed. So he could have some qualified people come look at it  for proper sizing.
I ordered the hard to find part and had it delivered on Saturday 8/7/21. I didn't like the hard sell or up sell he offered my wife. So I called someone else to look at it. Fan motor might be bad but after he showed me what was really wrong. The Johnson technician was not honest. New tech showed me the leaks on the coil. Replacing the fan motor was pointless. The unit had cooked itself. Because of the fan motorways  not working. Johnson technician could have made a sale and we would be on our way to a new out door unit by Tuesday. On Saturday the 8/7/21 I called the Johnson heating and cooling office because the technician never forwarded a quote to us. He never submitted to his office that we needed items for repairs or replacement. I want want my $149 diagnostic fee returned. Dishonest, incomplete diagnosis of the problem and incompetence. Failure To complete the task at hand.

I have nothing against the work the plumbers did but the way they conducted business. I was quoted 150 an hour and was told the job might take a few hours. That is fine and all. I paid the bill which they did not go over with me to explain the break down of what I was being charged. I looked over the breakdown of bill they emailed me the next day due to working night shift. I was charged over 200 an hour for 3hour which they were only there for two hours. I called and they acknowledged they lied about their time and refunded for the extra hour. Also surprise they charge 155 an hour per plumber which was never mentioned when I got the quote for the work. I feel the company should have been transparent and up front and honest about how they charge not after the work is done. That was the whole point in getting the quote so I as a single person could prepare for the very large bill. I would never go to them again for any plumbing issues due the dishonesty!

Everything that this company said they would do, they didn't. Needed to fix a water heater install and in one hour charged $400.00. They are a scam. Standard pricing means over paying to you. No estimate before performing the work then stuck me with $400.00 bill and would not call me back for 5 days to let the credit card process. Scam company beware.

Johnson Heating Cooling Plumbing - now Johnson Kellie, installed furnace, A/C, water heater five years ago and have done annual maintenance since then. They have done an excellent job, the techs explain their work and testing and I am pleased with their service and also office people that set appointments. When the original work was done the owner came by and made sure all was done correct - he had the installation team make a minor change to duct work. I was pleased to see the owner following up like that. We are very satisfied with Johnson.

Our air conditioner unit started blowing regular air and we called on a Sat. night. They responded back as I was leaving a message. The tech could be there on Sun. morning. He arrived and diagnosed the problem and told me the part (A condenser I believe) was Basically $250. Although I am no heating and air tech I went online before he arrived and was correct in what he told me was the issue. The part online was anywhere from $20 to $40. I don't know if a person has to have a license in order to get the parts needed, but a part with an 800% markup over what a price is online is ridiculous. Plus the weekend rate and part equaled $400. With all that being said, I would try to hold out another day (they did tell me that was an option) in order to save extra cash. 95 degree days are pretty miserable so we went with it and just paid the cost. Service was great, tech seemed like a good guy (forgot his name) but if you know a person with experience in that field, I would try to get them to help you and work out a deal with them if possible

I don't know about anyone else, but I am super paranoid about who I have work in my home. If you watch Unsolved Mysteries half of the time the crazies who kill the little old lady are the guys who did work on her house. That's why I try to hire local family owned companies who have a low employee turn over. Johnson Heating Cooling and Plumbing have taken care of my furnace for 11 years. I just had them replace my air conditioning unit that was over 20yrs old. Both employees who came to my home expressed their gratitude for working for such a great company. They are local guys, committed family men who love the Greenwood community. This company, like many other Greenwood businesses is very proactive in their generosity to our wonderful city.

Don't expect the company to show up on time for an estimate.  I was kept waiting a hour with no phone call.  Not a way to run a business.  There are many other business that know how to be courteous to their new customers.  Way to lose a $7000 sale.
