Sam and his crew are very professional and always been able to assist with any plumbing projects.

We had roots that split our drain pipe. We also had a separation from our main to the city street line.  Thankfully, Clark County Water Reclamation was responsible for that issue.  Their original markings were placed in 2015 but their crew never came back!  anyway,  after their repair and pipe replacement, I first called our home warranty folks. The crew was too limited and of course knew to get other estimates.  Had YES come out but had to have one more.  One of the CCWR folks suggested I call Drain Bear.  Jason and his crew were great.  Everything from start to finish was done well and also included the replacing our concrete driveway!!!  As for cost, for all they did, was definitely more involved for the basics only previously estimated by the other 2!

Highly recommend Franklin for your plumbing needs. He installed a new PVB valve for us. He was professional, timely, and the quality of the work he performed was excellent. On top of that, he was the lowest quote we received.

Had a problem with an A/C system not delivering air thru one duct. Made an appointment and was advised owner Chad would be coming with one of the technicians. Arrival was exactly on time. Problem was quickly diagnosed and corrected: plenty of cool air thru all ducts. Excellent service by Chad and the technician - wish I remembered his name. A completely satisfied customer!

HUGE shout out to Troy & Thor Industries for their quick response as our HVAC decided to malfunction last night shortly after I left for work. My husband called Troy & our HVAC was repaired first thing this morning even before I arrived home after working a 12-hour night shift which was a godsend! Adaven was recommended by the tile company that did my shower upgrade. Initially, they were professional and expedient with doing what needed to be done to the plumbing in the wall and drain areas. When the tile work was completed, Adaven returned to install the shower head and trim kit. I called them back out because the handle on the trim was not straight. Using a clock as an example, the handle should point to the 6. The handle sits short of 6. After informing Adaven of the issue, they sent someone to fix it. The guy they sent set the handle to the direction of the 4 on a clock. I explained that the handle should be straight at 6. He said it wouldn't sit straight at 6 because of some piece in the wall. He was not able to set the handle straight at 6. I called American Standard, the company that made the trim kit, and I was informed that the piece in the wall needs to be turned so that the cogs line up in a way that allows the handle to sit straight. The result is that Adaven did not install the trim kit so that the handle sits at 6 and they have shown no interest in correcting the situation. As for the work in the wall and drain, I can only hope that it was done better than the trim kit. Fingers crossed that I don't experience any leaks!

Billy and his guys are just all around quality people that are a diamond in the rough here in LV/Henderson and rarely found!!! Honest, reliable and trustworthy. I let very few contractors in my home w/ out supervision and WEB is one of the limited few I trust to do this with. I have used WEB on many projects/repairs over the past 10 + years, and 5 stars isn't praise enough for the company and their integrity based way of doing business!

Called plumbing pros this morning in regards to my water heater. Talked to Larry. He came out this afternoon and flushed my water heater (for free). Any other company would have probably made me buy a new water heater. Larry gave me some great advice. Would totally recommend them to everyone I know.

Can't help but really LIKE these guys.  Nahinu came to our rescue to deal with a water heater leak.  He got us a water heater lickety split and set it up on a temp stand til the restoration company got the damage fixed.  Hey, best part is that he gave me some great advice about choosing the new unit and maintaining it against future damage.  Thanks Nahinu, Mana, and Rob!  (pssst - this is a full-service plumbing outfit.)

Awful.  They came out to install my water heater purchase from Lowes.  Lowes contracts them out, which is a horrible business decision on their part.  They I stalled the water heater, and our water pressure went down.  Also, when taking a shower, if another hot water source is turned on, it goes down to a drip.  We never had this issue before the new water heater was installed.  I called Lowes.  The owner of Pain in the Pipe, Mike, came out.  I showed him the issue with the shower. He and another man went into the garage.  They came back a minute later to say it was the water softener.  If that were the case, why is the cold water pressure okay?  He said he was 99% sure that was the problem, otherwise I need a new regulator that is very costly.  I called the water softener company to service our equipment.  I told them the issue since the water heater install.  The water softener service man went over to check the work done on the water heater, apparently they didn't open the valves leading into the house all the way.  It was as simple as that.  I wouldn't trust Pain in the Pipe to do anything.  If the owner couldn't figure that out, but suggested I need a very expensive further repair, I am perfectly aware of their scam.  Beware.  Lowes is not smart to be doing business with them either.

Background of the plumbing issue:
My hope is to help others who may have the same problem we had. Our house is in Henderson, NV where at one point, the homeowners were notified they might have to repipe due to issues with Kitec pipes.  My husband and I who are firm believers in don't fix it if ain't broke philosophy stayed our ground until this year when a slab leak happened. We then decided to have the repipe done.

How we researched contractors for the job:
We spent a lot of time researching via the internet. We live in California so it is difficult to find local people in Henderson, Nevada. The best link we came across was from Total Solutions which listed the Primary contractors and others for the Kitec Litigation Program in Nevada. See link below:

It was a big surprise to learn that after we made phone calls, a lot of the companies listed were either inactive, bankrupt or moved somewhere else. Reason could have been that the Kitec buzz was some years ago... I guess we are late bloomers!

From the Primary List, we picked one of them, our first candidate. Then we searched the City of Henderson's permit section to find out the latest permits issued and to see if we can spot Kitec repipes that were recently done. We found at least three homes, one of whom has just been sold. Upon further research, we found the repipe company who did the work.  This company was our second candidate.  Then we went to search in Yelp, for the third candidate. You hear a lot of stories about made up reviews, but if you are careful, you can spot the scammers. From Yelp, we found the third candidate.

Next step is to google everything about the candidates, read up on all the reviews, check licenses, Better Business Bureau complaints etc. The three were invited to do the estimates, emailed them questions afterwards as to their services and products they will be using. It is important to make everything in writing compared to verbal/phone calls. Then we researched the products to be used, called the manufacturer for details, who then emailed us the answers. It was very tempting to make your decision on who to pick based on the price/estimates presented.  All three of them appear to be decent contractors and competent. If you can afford it, don't let the price stop you from choosing a quality company. We are glad we did, in Rakeman!

Rakeman Plumbing:
Decision was made based on who can help us the best, now and in the future, based on experience, knowledge, history and name recognition. We choose Rakeman Plumbing out of the three. It was a wise decision we later found out.  Not only are they accommodating, they employ very good people. That's their secret for longevity I think. Rocky Berger knew his stuff, he explained the Kitec Repipe process like no other. After we received an estimate and informed him his company got the job, we asked for a copy of the contract for us to review. Reading the exceptions in the contract was scary at first but once he explained them, we realized they have to cover themselves too.  A day before the job was started, we wrote the company a check for half of the cost of the repipe.

The repipe process:
First day, started early at 730 am.Garage was open the whole time they were working. We stationed someone at the garage area to secure the house from strangers not connected to the job .Appliances were moved, dishwasher to the garage and refrigerator out of the way. A couple of workers did the plastic protection for all affected work areas. Water was turned off, drywall was cut for specific areas and repiping started soon after that. At around 5 pm, amazingly, water was restored! Adan and his crew, made that all possible.

Next day, city inspector showed up, did his job and educated us on some points about the job being done. In the afternoon, the drywall was put back and paint was applied in affected areas, garage and inside the house. Miguel and Lola did a beautiful job on the color match for the paint! Next day, the dishwasher, refrigerator, garage sink and water softener unit were put back in place. We opted to have a new Pressure regulator and that was also installed.

Post repipe phone calls with Rakeman:
After the final check was issued, it is of course normal for a homeowner to worry if the contractor will even receive your call or text you back afterwards! With Rakeman, it's different. When something minor needed to be done, his men came back, the same way they started before: respectful, competent and nice. Thank you, Rocky and thank you to all the workers at Rakeman who made this a great experience!

Tip:
Respect goes both ways, when you deal with workers, treat them with respect, be nice and try to always ask for their first names. This way they will treat you and your house with respect. Make them comfortable and make them feel they are fixing their own house. You will get a lot out of it.

I used Butter Plumbing for the first time today.

For years, we had a contract with Yes! Plumbing.  Their technicians, whether HVAC or plumbing, were almost always tidy; they were always polite and competent.  But boy were they expensive.  

I left the country for a while.  When I returned, I went into a rental house so wasn't allowed to choose my own plumber when needed.  Now that I'm in my own house again, I needed a plumber to hook up my clothes  dryer and  test the washer.  I knew I'd need more dryer vent hose.  I called Yes but was told that they don't do that.  Guess the job just wasn't big enough for them.  So, who to call?

I looked in Solera Star and saw ads for two plumbers, Butter and Jack.  I called Butter first, because I see their trucks so often in my old neighborhood of Solera Anthem.  Maureen answered promptly and immediately made me smile.  She was confident, professional, efficient, helpful and polite.  She scheduled a plumber to come to my new house; scheduled him for 1:30 in the afternoon of the same day I called!  She contacted the plumber, Raffi, to ensure he'd have vent hose with him.

Raffi called around 11:30 and said he was running ahead of schedule.  He asked if he could come earlier.  He showed up looking professional (clean, tidy, well-groomed) and put on booties to protect my carpeting even though he never went into a carpeted room -- unlike the Salesman and the Installer from ADT; the first of whom refused to wear booties and the second of whom said I forgot mine.  Sorry and then proceeded to spend many hours in my house, on my new carpet, in his work boots.

Anyhow, Raffi determined what needed to be done and gave me an estimate.  I asked for a senior discount, so he applied that.  He did what needed to be done.  He also showed me that the movers had hooked the washer's cold water pipe to the hot water and vice versa.  He fixed that.  He ran both the washer and the dryer to ensure they worked.  He asked me where I would like the appliances placed; how far from the walls, how far apart, etc. and then single handedly moved them.  He cleaned the appliances.

When he was done, he asked what he could do for the $69 service fee.  Even though I'm in a newly constructed home, I had a concern about water in the kitchen taking too long to heat.  He and I discussed my concern and options.  Although he could have sold me either one of two products, he recommended a wait and see approach which cost me nothing.  

When I need a plumber, I will call Butter Plumbing.

If I enter into a maintenance contract like I had for many years with Yes Plumbing, one where they come out twice a year (beginning of winter, beginning of summer), it will be with Butter Plumbing.  They are every bit as good a Yes Plumbing, but cost less (who doesn't) and they aren't so big for their britches that they refuse small jobs.  

We seniors often need to hire things done that we are no longer capable of doing ourselves.  The jobs aren't big but you could make a living off of a million small jobs.  Butter seems to get that; Yes Plumbing obviously doesn't, so Butter got today's business and will get all future business; and they get a great review on Yelp; and I will recommend them when my neighbors ask if I can recommend a good plumber.

I like both Raffi and Maureen a LOT.  Great customer service.  I will  definitely be a repeat customer.

I never met anybody so rude in my life this business should be reported to the better business burial! Guy hung up on me in middle conversation it wasn't even a dispute just ask for quote karma is a b !!
