Nick was just a very proffessionals and knowledgeable young man. Patiently explained how the heating and cooling system of our new home operated and how to maintain it. Offered to sign me up for their annual check ups and servicing. He made some suggestions to keep everything functioning and clean and even fixed my shower faucet handle that I was struggling to fix myself. No charge. I did have him do some minor maintenance at a very inexpensive price. Nick was such a kind and integral young man. I would gladly refer them to anyone. What I thought would be an expensive visit was very inexpensive and he put my worries to rest on the heating and cooling system of our new home. Thanks Nick! Youre a great young man! Nine years ago, my third water heater in 7 years went bad. Hawthorne came out to replace it. I ended up buying a high end water heater with a 10 year guarantee. It requires yearly maintenance for a $29 house call with Hawthorne. For that, they flush the tank and inspect other plumbing. I bought my own anode rods, so they replace that too as part of the maintenance. Each plumber who has come out has been very professional. My only gripe is that they tend to try to push other services associated with the house call. But overall, very pleased with the annual $29 investment and the work by Hawthorne.

A service technician (Shane) from Hawthorne PHC came out to the house at my request for a general inspection of my situation since I fired my previous company. I'm not certain I can say thank you enough in a review, but I'll try.  Shane inspected our A/C units, furnaces, and plumbing and then we sat and talked about his findings. Our prior company did the same a week earlier and said we needed some $10,000 in upgrades to our systems which are only 3 years old! Shane was more honest. We're in fine shape and our relatively new equipment is good just the way it is. The information Shane shared was eye-opening. I learned more about HVAC and my own system in an hour than I learned from my previous company in 3 years. I signed up for semi-annual maintenance visits and was told that since I am retired military, they would be free!  That's right. Hawthorne has a Heroes Program for military and first responders. But that's not even the best part of our visit. The best part is the knowledge and forthrightness displayed by Shane. He was here for some time and the service call was part of their Heroes Program. I am impressed. A week ago I was faced with a bill for $10,000 and today I am worry free now that I have Hawthorne on my side. I can't say thank you enough.

Nice guy, wanted $430 to repair a hole I had in a hot water line.  The drywall was already removed just needed to repair the line.  8 inches of new line = $430, no thank you. Get a few companies to come out.  Taking advantage of

Called Hawthorne to come out to install a new dryer.
and their technician Jake came out. Jake was excellent! very knowledgeable and had an amazing work ethic! Cant believe that he isnt the supervisor because he really knows how to deal with customers and turn the whole situation I had going on with Hawthorn earlier in the day around! If not for Jake we probably wouldnt be calling this company again but he was a saving grace!

I wish i can give you guys 10 stars. This past Saturday Nov. 23, we had a problem with our water heater. We called you guys on recommendation from a good friend of mine. The service tech (Felipe Infante) showed up right on time & told us what the problem was & fixed it right away. He was very professional & didnt try to scam us. My husband & I were super happy with his work and knowledge. We know alot of people who own homes in this town & we will definately recommend you guys to all our friends. Angel, Ian and crew are AMAZING. We started out with getting an estimate for the plumbing for our entire house, not only did they come and give a reasonable estimate, they have the BEST customer service around. They came and did about a weeks worth of work one like 3 days and every day my 5 yr old son would follow Ian around all day, I am talking about almost 7 hours a day. Ian was awesome and taught him a little about everything he was doing, let him help and talked with him all day. My son till this day asks when he can come back. They also fixed a previous contractors error that was causing me a lot of stress, at a great price and let me know it was against code.
Hawthorne did such a great job at an amazing price we used them again two weeks later to redo our entire AC unit. From now on Hawthorne will be the ONLY company we call for our heating, cooling and plumbing needs.

Called Hawthorne to come check why the pilot in my water heater wouldn't stay on. Ivan, the technician was very friendly. He told me it was the thermocouple and it would be about $359 to replace right then, but proceeded to tell me I should replace my water heater since it was old. Seemed reasonable since it was installed 13 years ago.   When he quoted me $1800 for install I started to realize what kind of company this must be. I told him I would call them back the next day so I could do some research. At that point, and I guess to be expected since I didn't fall for the criminal act, Ivan's tone changed and he became very short with me. I've called three companies since then for quotes and all have quoted the thermocouple for half the price as Ivan quoted and $800-$1,000 less for a new water heater. I certainly wouldn't recommend this company based on my experience.

Update: the owner called me and refunded my money for the inspection and listed to my concerns with the technician. Changed starts to 3 for that as I appreciated the concern.

They are very expensive.  I felt that the technician took advantage of the situation. I had a ball valve replaced by my water heater and they charged me $330 for the job.  The job took him 30 minutes. I wanted it done so I agreed.  I should have gotten a second opinion and I would have paid half the cost.  This job amounted to $10/minute (the part was only $30).  What kind of rate is that?  The work is satisfactory and I won't have a problem with this again.  Hathorne Plumbing will not be the first estimate I ask for next time.  Way too expensive! Call around first. My job was too simple to pay that much and I regret it now.

I will again revise my review.  I was told I was going to review a well deserved refund.  I didn't. So just to be clear, here is what happened.

I asked if they had experience and carried parts for my brand shower. I was assured they were familiar with and carried the parts.  They weren't and didn't. It took 3 visits, I had to order the parts and in the end I was charged a grand total of a little over 300.00 TO REPLACE THE SHOWER HANDLES!  When I paid for the parts!   Yup.. Shower handles.  And I had to find the
directions for the plumber!  Plus I was told, when speaking to a manager, they did make 3 trips to Boulder City.  We'll because they didn't have the parts! And if you don't want to make the trip to BC then EXCLUDE IT FROM YOUR SERVICE AREA!!  don't punish the customer for where they live.  Too far?  Then state that in the ad.

This place is absolutely the worst. The plumber is very rude and did something that really unethical. I had some part inside of my shower that needed to be replaced. The plumber came in and started working. He drilled off my shower handle without even telling me and half hour later he came out and tell me that I have to pay him another 200 bucks for him to put the handle back on. I mean, wtf?! It is like I ask someone to fix something in my house, the guy break in my house, fix what is inside and ask me more money to replace the door he destroy. After a series of phone call to my title company where my house warranty was under and the manager of the company. They finally despatched the plumber to my house again. It is amazing how this shameless guy just walk in my house after trying to rip me off. It literally took him 5 minutes to put it back on, the part was only 15 dollars. What kind of labor charge 185 for 5 minutes? Do not choose this dishonest company, there are so many better plumbing company out there

We had an emergency after being in the home we purchased and moved into a week ago. We discovered that our gas line was punctured by the negligence of the previous home owner. Luckily we caught it and had it addressed asap. We called southwest gas. They came and shut our gas of and provided us with the names of 3  plumbers. After calling the first two we were told they were not avail. When I called Hawthorne plumbing they sent a technician out within the hour. Jacob and his apprentice came. They were friendly, sympathetic to our situation and able to resolve the issue that same day. The only bummer is we'll need the gas company to come out to inspect the work and gas line before we can have our gas turned back on which could take a day or two more. Thankfully it's summer and we don't require to have the gas on for heat. Jacob and his partner went above and beyond. While it was a costly experience we highly recommend this company for their fast action and friendly staff.

My hot water heater broke down on a Saturday and every place I called was either NOT open or the answering service answered and I would get contacted on Monday morning, except for Hawthorne, someone actually answered the phone. I explained that my hot water heater pilot went out and that it was not relighting and that I had already ordered the replacement part for my water heater thru my manufacturer warranty. The replacement part would be shipped out on Monday and would be delivered Tuesday.  The lady that answered was SUPER nice and was able schedule a service appointment for Tuesday afternoon, she also mentioned that if the part arrived earlier in the day that I could call and see if my service call could get moved up earlier. The replacement part arrived early Tuesday morning and got my appointment moved up. Ben arrived and took care of everything in NO time and did Great work! I highly recommend Hawthorne Plumbing, Heating and Cooling.

Very prompt both with telephone service and technician service.  Sandy called me back within an hour of my request and she scheduled someone to come service our clogged plumbing line that very morning.  Brian Palombo, the technician was extremely prompt, courteous and patient.  He answered all of my questions and explained the answers clearly. I would recommend this company and use them again.  Their prices are a little high but, like all things contractor related, do your research and try to negotiate.   If you get a fair price you should use this company as they do good work.

I don't understand the bad reviews.   We have been using Hawthorne for about 3 years now.  Yes, they are more expensive than some other companies but their employees are all background checked and we have never had a complaint about their work.   They have always been on time, very professional and they take the time to explain everything.  Yes, they do have a sales pitch on certain products but they aren't overly pushy.

the best in las vegas and surrounding area!  i have been a happy client for about 20 years.  everything in my homes has been done by hawthorne.  thomas lopez has come at night when there were plumbing asap emergencies.  i own the halo system from hawthorne and it is terrific!  i bought three condensers from them - goodman brand - and they are also great!  whenever i have a hvac problem - it is taken care of professionally, expedited immediately and they treat me with great respect.  this is a superb and well run company - also, jake godzek does terrific work for me, too from their great team!  angel, the main man - owner/manager - is always hands on with this and always gets my needs taken care of in a prompt and immediate manner - kudos and highest ranking for the best hvac in nevada!

I would give less than 1 star if possible. Do not work with this company, they are criminals. I called them because they took over a company that installed my water heater so I was hoping they would have some sort of reputation.

It started with a busted pipe outside my house that my landscape person estimated for $150.  I called Home Depot and they estimated $59 for parts. I didn't want to install myself, so I called my landscaper but he was busy that day so I went ahead and called Hawthorne plumbing hoping to find reasonable pricing.

After charging me a $69 show up fee the plumber estimated $500 for repairing the busted pipe. I asked him how much it would take him to repair and he said 1 hour. That's when it started going downhill. I don't mind paying the show up fee (which I did), but to estimate an absurd price is insane.

Like I said, do not work with this company if you don't want to get robbed.

They were quick to come out and did the plumber did a great job.  However, they charged $477 when they were here for less than an hour.  Definitely feel ripped off now.
Didn't think to ask them how much it would be beforehand because it was such a simple job - just refitting some pvc pipe to a copper connection behind a wall that was already opened up.

Yes, they are expensive, but they really do solid work.  I bought a HomePath house (repo/bank-owned that needed significant work) and worked with Hawthorne from the beginning.  They completely retrenched my master bath, installed all of my toilets, faucets, and literally everything else that had to be done (which was quite literally EVERYTHING). I did voice concern about one bill I found to be ridiculously high, but they did work with me to refund some of that.  The bonus is that I have the 2 year guarantee on everything.

Worked primarily with Ivan.  He is the absolute best.  Works fast, is thorough, and is very patient.

I think many people are upset because they have home warranties that do not cover much of what Hawthorne goes out to do, which is understandable.  But blame your home warranty, not the company that is called to come fix things that aren't covered. You are paying for LABOR, not parts. If you know how to do it, obviously you are going to save money by doing it yourself with parts from a box store.

Terrible experience! Worst customer service ever. Had a routine check up on my water heater everything was working fine but after the check up coincidently the pilot light is out and won't turn on! So they sent back the technician Ivan who kept pushing a new water heater for 1800. So I told him that if they can just fix the pilot light which cost 359 which was working fine before that. Just seems really suspicious that it breaks when they did the check up before that. So I was pretty up set  I called the manager David who did not really care so the conversation went no where! We kept saying it was a coincidence. I used them for a while but after this experience I don't think I will be a customer anymore!

We use Hawthorne to check our air conditioners and furnace every season. When we had a plumbing issue arise, a claim was made through Home warranty of America and we requested Hawthorne. Jacob Godzak showed up on Tuesday to take care of the issue. What we thought was a small plumbing problem behind our fridge, turned into purchasing a Halo filtration system, after discovering the plumbing problem stemmed from a water filtration system that wasn't being used and would most likely need to be replaced. Jacob was so professional, kind, informed us of the military discount available to us,which we so appreciate! and worked all day to get the new system installed. He is such an asset to Hawthorne and we will continue to use them for our plumbing, cooling, and heating needs. Well done!

My mother hired this company to repair a water leak at her house. She is elderly and in very poor health, that's why I'm writing this review on her behalf.  She's in tears over her experience with Hawthorne. Her experience was very bad all around. For starters, you quoted her $3500 to repair a leak that seemingly took you only a few hours (at most) to *allegedly* fix. More importantly, there are no signs of digging or excavation in the area where the leak was. In short, it doesn't appear you did ANY work to actually repair the leak. Moreover, you sloppily cut into the drywall by the main shutoff valve, leaving it in a very messy condition that could and should have been done much more professionally. It looks like a child did it. More importantly, there is now a secondary leak at the shut off valve where you cut into the drywall that wasn't there before. In sum, you CAUSED A LEAK and simply left it like that. It would appear you took advantage of a sick, elderly woman who didn't know any better and absconded with $3500 in hand, which is sickening. I am a licensed attorney in the State of Nevada and intend to take legal action against this company if you don't make things right ASAP. You may not know, but in Nevada a claim for elder exploitation entitles my mother to three times her actual damages, plus attorneys' fees and costs should we file suit, which I'm more than happy to do on her behalf. I will also attempt to reach out to you directly but wanted the public to be on alert regarding Hawthorne. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. I expect a prompt and meaningful response. You're on notice.

I'm only putting one star because I have to.

They sent a plumber here this morning sent by property management and he was so unprofessional, rude, disrespectful, and a big jerk!

He came in and had an attitude the second I opened the door. I asked if he was here to fix the shower issue and he replied with sarcasm, well if there's something wrong with it then yeah. Duh! You wouldn't have been called if there wasn't anything wrong with it!

Background - we've had this foul odor coming from the drain of the shower for 3 weeks. Property management sent two maintenance guys saying it needs a plumber. They smelled the odor as well.

So I show him where the shower is and comes to me within a minute and asked what are we smelling. I told him literally smells like shit, to which he replied, you can't smell shit. Seriously?! I told him to let the water run longer than 2 minutes.

So I hear him on the phone saying to someone he doesn't smell anything. So I go there and tell him to let the water run longer as if he's taking a shower. I told him showers doesn't take 2 minutes. He said he takes 5 minute showers. (There's one problem)

So he keeps talking back and I told him we've been dealing with the smell for 3 weeks and 2 maintenance guys have smelled it. He's the only one not smelling it. Then he starts yelling and calls me names so I told him to get the eff out of my house.

He leaves slamming my door and gate! What an ass! Then he sits at the curb in front of my house for a good 5+ minutes on his phone.

If you need a plumber, get someone else with high ratings because this one experience, I will NEVER recommend Hawthorne to anyone! This ahole needs to be fired! He's lucky my husband wasn't home.

We paid $3,000 cash for a compressor they said we should be good for a while two months later we were having issues with a C not working and they wanted to charge 6000 for a coil to make a long story short they left us in limbo and brought a window unit for us to use and ripped us off for $3,000 cash and didn't have that decency 2 accommodate us in any way they are the most unprofessional place of business ever I would not recommend them to anybody!!!!

BUYER BEWARE!!! I contacted Hawthorne Plumbing on 9/1/20 reference an advertisement they sent me through the mail reference a flush of my water heater. I set up appointment from 10-12 on 9/2/20. 1)They contacted me later on 9/1/20, via voicemail, to correct the price of the service. 2) they contacted me the next day on 9/2/20 about 40 minutes before the arrival time (10-12) to tell me the time was now 11-2. I called them back & they told me 3) it was now gonna have to be re-schedule for the next day, 9/3/20. I asked them 4) what about today from 11-2? they denied they ever made that call yet I have them on tape making it. And, they told me that all the appointments for today, 9/2//20, were full.  Yet, they called me only a few minutes before to tell me it was from 11-2 on 9/2/20.   I told them to forget it.  How can u trust that they'll show up the next day, 9/3/20,  when they are so confused and don't even know whether they even called me or not & can't get the times & dates straight.

Called to have our AC condenser unit checked out since it started making a scraping noise. Technician Todd came out quickly and was extremely personable. He checked out our system and explained every step - discovered a capacitor that was nearly dead and causing the fan to startup hard. Capacitor was replaced on the spot and we signed up for their yearly maintenance program. Great to have a friendly, thorough and straight-forward technician come out fast, fix our issue at a reasonable price and get us cool again in the hot Las Vegas summer!

My air conditioner went out so I called a few companies and were unsatisfied because they were either too expensive, charged for an estimate, or they never bothered to follow up with an estimate.  I called Hawthorne and not only did they come out giving a free estimate, they gave me a fair price and were willing to work with me since I'm on a fixed income.  The technician's name is Todd Hagler and he is a true professional.  He was patient, he explained everything to me, he was personable and friendly.  Todd is truly concerned with the well being of the customer.  Hawthorne should be very proud to have a person like Todd.  Not only was the service great and reasonable in price, but Todd represented well and when Hawthorne is in consideration of raises and/or promotions, please give it to Todd.  He is definitely growing your company with his outstanding attitude and personalityF!

This is by far the fastest, most honest plumbing vompanies in Las Vegas. My water heater broke on New Year's Eve, and they were able to get a plumber out to my house the same day to ensure I had hot water by the end of the day. I don't know what I would have done with my family considering a three-day weekend was approaching. Hawthorne Plumbing saved the day and made it a great New Year. Thank you so much!

Jake Godzak the plumber and Kyle Cosby the A/C - heating serviceman are both extremely reliable and professional in their work and attitude, as are others who are needed to assist. I woke this morning Saturday to a flooded garage.  Called Hawthorne and wow.  I got someone at 7:00am on Saturday.  The repair man was at my home by 8:30AM.  He had to leave to pickup the correct new water heater and the job was completed before noon.  Way to save the weekend Hawthorne.  You have my recommendation. The serviceman was great and very conscientious.  He explained all the options and did a great job (5 star rating on this plumber)

What a ripoff. Don't do business with these theives. Charged $422 to fix a shower faucet leak. Said it was because part was so expensive. Fixed it wrong and had to come back next day to redo it. Checked the price of the part when they were done  $60 for exact same part at Home Depot. Even if they doubled the price of the part to make profit that's still $300 for a half hour job. Ripoff company STAY AWAY

We've been using Hawthorne for years, they service our HVAC , plumbing and hot water heater. We've replaced our air units and hot water with them and they've fixed busted pipes. Shane services our HVAC and has always been honest. He band-aid' the air units for a few years and the last couple he said it's almost time to replace them. So when the day came, it's wasn't a shock. He not only stayed until the new units were delivered, he had them installed and cold air blowing inside once again. He's  never tried to replace things that weren't broke or clean out the ducts. As a woman I usually don't allow repair men in the house, and it's always scheduled when my hubs is home. Shane is that exception. I appreciate his professionalism, but most of all his honesty, it's the reason we stay with Hawthorne, we pay a yearly fee and they come out twice a year for the HVAC and the hot water heater once a yr. I would definitely recommend to friends and family. Hard to find honest companies so happy to share the ones I find.

My heat was not working. And my anemia was mad because of it. However, Hawthorne Heating sent Charles out immediately. Charles B. did an excellent job diagnosing and fixing the issue rapidly. Charles was courteous, professional and helpful. He recommended useful and valuable information per my qualifications. This company is the extra step kind of organization. Thank you Hawthorne!

Problem:The shower pressure would drop by half after turning on.
Ivan said the problem was the PRV (pressure regulator valve) on the water line into the house.The cost to replace the valve and labor was $704.00.  There was no breakdown on the bill for parts and labor.
After further research I found the exact same valve on Amazon for $69.99.  That puts the labor cost at $634.00 for less than 15 minutes of work.
The labor was to tighten two couplings on the valve.
This did NOT fix the problem, and I had to have the company send Ivan out again in 2 days.
This time he indicated the problem was the water softener system.  
After speaking with Angel (owner) he offered to refund my total bill of $704.00 within the hour. I accepted his offer and thanked him for his costumer support!

The service was fine. The plumber, Ian, was great. The price quoted was very high, but with a leaking pipe in a multi-unit condo I couldn't let it go overnight or I would have gotten another quote. That is a professional opinion as I am a retired general contractor and facilities maintenance professional.

Update:
The service manager called me a couple of days after the service regarding my initial lower rating  and said that they had mis-classified the charges for my service and I would be getting a $298 refund on the $708 initial bill. This is more in line with what the charge should have been. I have received the refund and I am now very satisfied with this transaction.

I needed a water heater replaced under warranty(that means the water heater is free) and all I needed was to have it installed. Hawthorne wanted to charge me $600 to install a free water heater. After asking for them to match one of there competitors prices they told me they could not that they were already giving me a break. So, I told them thanks for coming out. I did have the job done one hour later by that competitor who charged $150 less for the exact same job. The reason I am giving two stars is because the service tech. was on time and very nice.

I really wish I would of looked at the comments before I had Hawthorne come to my house. I never would of never  called them. Kyle was the service man. Very nice and pleasant young man. However  he totally misdiagnosis what was wrong with my ac. He gave me an estimate from 2, 785  which was only a temporary fix not under warranty.   He had stated we needed a new flex duct. Plus sealing of all the orher ducts connections. The other option were from 8 thous to 10 thous. Under warranty. .. replace ac unit.. . When my husband got back in town I told him what he said.. My husband  frustrated decided to go under the house. We were confused. How could we need a new ac. Because it was blowing ice cold. It just had a flow problem. What my husband  found really upset me. We didn't need a new flex duct.. it wasn't connected. . After my husband connected it boy was my air cold.
The ac is fixed. I can't believe it..please beware, or cautious..  we saved 10 thousand. .

I agree with all of the one star reviews.  Hawthorne wanted to charge me $600.00 to replace a sink faucet and $300 to change a bathtub spout!   I purchased the bathtub spout at Lowes for $35 and installed it easily myself.  Hawthorne will try to scam you!

We used Hawthorne Plumbing through Old Republic several times. One time was a good experience. Twice we felt like they were complete con artists. The last time we used them, the technician said we needed a plastic part replaced. So we thought great, $30.00 max. He then proceeded to tell us you can't buy this plastic piece separately. We'd have to buy a whole new motor which we didn't need. We questioned him & he insisted that you could no way buy the small part. We told him we'd have to think on it before we spent $400.00. Actually we just wanted the con out of our house. We proceeded across town to a parts shop, and found the plastic part for $30.00, and put it in on very easily ourself. We will never use them again, and hopefully this is a warning to others to watch out.

On Friday September 13 2019 I called Hawthorne Plumbing, heating & AC after buying 3 new faucets from Home Depot.
Once Tech Ivan Showed up he was very quick in replacing all 3 faucets and main water shutoff valve. Ivan replaced the unsafe gate valve with ball valve. Ivan was very professional and I was happy with the quality of work. I got the bill and was pleasantly surprised, since Hawthorne priced are the best in town.
I called Hawthorne Plumbing on Monday the 16 of September 2019 and spoke with Linda about how happy I was with service and price. Office manager Angel found out that I was a Veteran and they gave me a additional discount.
Linda signed me up for a free home inspection of my AC Heating System.
Tech Shane Corbin came to my home and was very professional and thoroughly checked my system and told me everything was ok.
Tech Shane didn't try to sell me a new AC unit and was only interested in making sure my AC & Heating system worked perfectly.
I would highly recommend this company.

Both service techs who came were kind. And the first suggested turning my AC off for a day and turning it back on, which did get things temporarily working.

The trouble came when it was time to talk price. The second tech gave me a price of $500-$800 to replace 2 pounds of R22 and some sealant. I said that seemed high, and he promised me that this R22 costs $200/pound. So I looked on the Internet, where I saw it was about 1/3 that price. I told him this, and he said any place who claimed that was lying. He told me lots of reasons the price was so high. He overwhelmed me with heating & cooling facts and figures that I could not understand. I told him this much and he continued, as if to get me to defer to his judgment on price.

Anyway, as soon as I tipped him and he left, I called a place on Yelp (that had much higher reviews) and they came two days later and did the whole job for $300.

One thing that I found especially upsetting was when the Hawthorne tech was trying to get me to pay the $800--he said, The $500 is with no protection, so if something goes wrong with your AC unit the second I walk out, you'll have to pay for that. That really rubbed me the wrong way.

Anyway, this other company said I could keep them posted as to issues, and for that $300 price they not only gave me 3 pounds of this R22, they also gave me an addition 1.5 pounds for another AC unit (that was still working, but running low).

So I give Hawthorne 2 stars for being on time and for suggesting I turn my AC on and off, but deducted 3 stars for deception. Not for the high price (if they can get away with charging so much, good for them), but for lying in saying that that NO other place would give me R22 for less than Hawthorne, and for falsely accusing businesses who list R22 as less expensive of lying.

Final numbers: Hawthorne told me $200/pound was the cheapest I'd find. The very next phone call, I found a place (top rated on Yelp) that charged me $75/pound.

Hawthorne is a great company. I had them replace two air-conditioning units that my home warranty company could not fix. They put me on their hero's Program for free due to the fact that my husband is an Army veteran. That's just the bonus. They came out today to give me an estimate for upgrading my thermostats to Wi-Fi, which they included in my air conditioning units' replacement last year.  There were two techs that were amazing- Shane and Eric. The company in all aspects Is knowledgeable, professional, nice, respectful, helpful, and reasonable in prices. They helped me in my time of serious need, when my warranty company left me high and dry by not fixing 2 ac units as they were contractually obligated to do. I have a senior citizen living in my home, two dogs, and myself- We all had to suffer at the hands of our warranty company until Hawthorne came in to save the day. Kudos to them for being an amazing company.  I strongly recommend Hawthorne!!!!!

I'm a small time landlord in the Las Vegas/Henderson area and had need of a replacement air conditioner/heater package for a property. I was constrained by time and events so the purchase was a hasty one. I went with the first company that said they could do it (Hawthorne) paying top dollar (between $7,000 - $8,000)

While I caught them in a few instances of double talk and backtracking (all in the interest of securing my business and maximizing their profits), many companies do this, you have to be vigilant lest it gets out of hand.

Point being - their AFTER SALES SERVICE is non-existent! I've been calling, reminding, complaining, urging, messaging, etc.... for the paperwork related to the permit and guarantee and have received nothing in way of results, callbacks, message returns .... nothing.

I can only imagine what kind of response I'd get if I had a critical problem with the installation or hardware! Why would I ever call these people again!

Seldom do you find a company that is honest, courteous and helpful. From the first phone call till the job was done it was nothing but a professional and pleasant experience. Customer service was outstanding from the gentlemen that took my first call and set up the appointment to RJ,the technician that performed the repairs. RJ was exceptional ,his kindness and concern was unbelievable. He diagnosed the problem found the leak in my A/C system and had my air conditioner  up and running in short order. I have nothing but praise for him and the Hawthorne company . I highly recommend to all how need quick and professional repairs at a reasonable price to call them first. The were my second opinion after calling another company that only wanted to sell me a new A?C system for several thousands of dollars. They even told me if they tried to repair it wouldn't do much good a new system is what I needed. Hawthorn (RJ) in particular save me thousands. You can be sure when I do have to upgrade to on new A/C unit. It will be Hawthorne that I call.   Great Experience!!!

Would give zero stars if I could. Hawthorne replaced a water heater under warranty two years ago for 750. It started leaking yesterday and we called for an appointment since they said it was under warranty. Well today they came out said it would be 825 and no new warranty just old warranty. He also blamed our water softener for it only lasting two years. I've had water heaters and water softeners in many houses for over twenty years and have never had one only last two years. To be fair they offered a 10 percent off veteran discount. Told them no thank you and the technician smiled and sarcastically said well good luck. We called someone else ( Water Heater Pros) and they did a warranty exchange on the unit for 545.

used a groupon for an inspection, the office was nice, the appointment was set and the rep was knowledgable.  The cost for a replacement water heater was quoted $2100, $2300 and $2500. I almost fell down with the quote.  I was truly shocked, they didn't breakdown the cost but always included a maintenance plan.  I went elsewhere and paid $500.00 for the same size water heater and install.

Granted, this was warranty work, but I had absolutely no problems.
Yeah, I was skeptical when the outgoing voicemail used the words honesty and integrity, kind of like when I see the word authentic on the sign of a Mexican restaurant. It's a turn-off.
However, the service call was placed after 1:00 and plumber Ryan was here by 3:00. He quickly and competently cleared the blocked pipes and replaced the disposal, all while maintaining a very high level of polite respect.
A bit of a hard sell on the special drain unclogging product, but I can use it on other drains as well.
Didn't make me feel stupid for not doing it myself. But again, it was under warranty.

The air conditioner wasn't working in the master and living room. I called and was able to get same day service. The technicians called even to see if they could arrive a couple minutes earlier than our time slot which was great! Twelve years ago my home warranty company had Hawthorne replace my water heater (50 gallon Bradford White gas water heater) and they did a competent job.  So it's time to do it again, and I gave Hawthorne first dibs.  From checking around, I know the standard price for replacing my water heater is about $1100-1300.  Hawthorne's Ivan came out and quoted the following prices for water heater replacement (using same water heater which costs Hawthorne about $400 at Fergusen's Plumbing Supply):  $2556 with a six year warranty, $3408 with eight year warranty, or $4260 with ten year warranty.  Their warranty included labor and annual checkups.  These are ABSURD prices.  Rip-off level prices.  I would not do business with a company that tries to rip people off with those prices.

I used other companies in the past, but after finding Hawthore, I will never call another company for my AC or water heater needs! They have been honest and fair from the get-go, send the same people out when they can, and are so friendly, but not in the fake way.  They provide maintenance for FREE for military and first responders (I am a registered nurse). If that doesn't say what kind of company they are, just have them provide any of their services and see for yourself!

My shower was not even turning on. Called Hawthorne late night to set up an appointment. They were quick to respond. Sent a technician out to my home as soon as possible. I noticed my water heater was blinking the famous 7 blinks Tuesday evening, but too tired to do anything that night. So I called the next morning and Jake was out that evening to take a look at what was going on. He knew what he was doing and was amazing. He would show me what to look for and what to keep an eye on. Jake also couldn't fix the problem but was back the next night and fixed the water heater! Jake was great help and really showed me what he was doing! Very informational and now I have a working water heater!

Worst experience ever. Guy came by to inspect the waterheater and did not know anything and put out no effort. He said after 30 seconds...I dont see anything wrong here, but your waterheater looks old. I recommend replacing very soon. He quoted me $4k. Had another company come out the next day because I did not believe it, they found the problem right away fixed it cheaply and just shook their head when I told them what happened. Waterheater runs just fine now. I am not sure if there was a misunderstanding somewhere otherwise this was borderline frivolous.

Had a problem with leak that was repaired, I had no contact information for the guy that did repair. I called this morning to get them out I was told the technician no longer works with this company. Asked I they could send another technician lady was pretty rude and couldn't answer questions about coupons- moving on to find new company this no was helpful in the past must have new management now looking for $$$$$.

My pilot light went out and after watching several videos and reading the instructions to re-light it myself, I was unsuccessful.  I was able to get a list of possible vendors from SW Gas and after calling all, Hawthorne was the only one that had a live person answer and was able to provide a quote and time expectation for service. After hearing back from the other vendors, Hawthorne's price and service time still beat out the rest.

Had a tech come out and he fixed my pilot in less than 10 minutes, paid the service fee and was up and running again. Sadly, less than 24 hours after, it went out again, so I had to ask for them to return back - I was assured that the service fee would not be charged again. Another tech arrived and fixed it again, but then I was asked for payment of the service fee. Not wanting to make a big deal with the tech I provided my card info for him to run the day after since I was all out of money at that exact moment.  I decided to reach out to the company directly instead so that I could get it clarified.

Angel Martinez took care of fixing the misunderstanding and was able to reverse the bill and charge. Angel's service recovery was exceptional and not once did he make it any more difficult than it already was. Easy peasy fix, both of my pilot light and the all-around service received from Hawthorne on the back end.

Had a pinhole pipe leak at house side of water meter located by the street.  Water bureau inspected and indicated that the pipe to the house was good except for where it connected to the meter.  Needed to disconnect the meter and pipe, cut about 3 off the pipe,  splice and reconnect.  Since some cleanout and digging was involved I figured maybe 3 hours and $200 to $300.  Hawthorne came in with a bid of $795 and when I said I would have to get another bid they hit me with a $69 estimate charge.  He took 5 minutes looking at the job. I called another licensed, experienced plumber and the job cost me $300 including a tip. Excellent work ,  with warranty and cleaned the area spotless when he was done.
I agree with others who think Hawthorne are rip off artists.  They may do good work but so do a lot of others and at reasonable prices.

I'm sure the GM knew that this review was coming.

My mom called Hawthorne over to check on her air conditioner which had broken. They told her that even though the motor (the broken part) was covered under warranty, it would still cost $760 to replace. I knew immediately this was a huge rip off. I called and asked to speak to the manager and he told me that even though the part was covered under warranty, their supplier did not have it in stock and so they had to purchase it from another company that they did not normally do business with and charge my mom for not only the part (that should have been free) but a 35% markup as well. When I explained that I wanted to take the time to call for a second opinion because that seemed to be a ridiculous price for this service and that part should have been free, the GM got extremely defensive and told me if that's what I wanted then he's going to return the part and cancel the service. He continued to be unprofessional and claim that he wasn't getting rich off of this service call and that inflation has hit everyone hard I asked if I could just take a moment to call another company to see if their supplier had the part in stock, but he refused to wait and hung up on me.

Needless to say, I called Goettl and they not only have the part in stock and it is free under the warranty, but would do the labor for cheaper than Hawthorne.

Do Not go with this company. This is the second time that I have dealt with them and the second time that they have gotten defensive when I questioned them on their pricing. Just go with Goettl and you'll have quality help for a fair price. We will not be contacting Hawthorne ever again.

This rating is for Hawthorne's owner Greg H. who quickly reacted to my review.  I appreciate the response and suggestion to reach out to his manager. I don't need anything else (I have hot water now) but I chose to write this update, to suggest a retraining of your customer service reps. The very first Rep I spoke with gave me a month's appointment out, even after I explained my situation (no hot water for 2 months because of home warranty issues and I needed Hawthorne to certify probable factory defect). She didn't take time to check the schedule.
Second lady I talked with gave me a next working day availability after checking the schedule. Bless her heart.

We are very happy with our service on a leak from our Well unit.  They responded very quickly, detected the leak and the next day Ivan and Justin came and fixed it for us in a timely manner. They also put back the landscaping back better than when they first started.  Communication from the office to their technicians is on point. Highly recommend this 5 star company.

It's the middle of June in Las Vegas and we are under a severe heat warning this week.  Today's high is 105 degrees.  Around 8:00 PM last night our air conditioner stopped working.  When the morning came, I called Hawthorne Plumbing Heating & Cooling on their 24 hour hot line and they scheduled me a.s.a.p...  I received a phone call from Sandy informing me that HVAC Technician Todd Hagler was on his way.  Upon arrival Todd went right to work and determined the problem.  Todd looked up my make and model, made a phone call and then told me that the parts that were needing to be replaced were covered under my manufacturer's warranty and were waiting for him to pick up.  Todd was gone and before we knew it he returned and shortly thereafter had us up and running.  Once again our house is running cool and all souls are happy.  I forgot about the severe heat warning until I stepped out of the house to go get the mail!
Yes, I'm a repeat customer of Hawthorne Plumbing Heating & Cooling.  Yes, I will recommend Hawthorne without any reservations.  Would I be happy if Todd Hagler is dispatched to my house the next time I find myself in need?  Absolutely, however every technician that has been dispatched to my house has been a skilled trained journeyman who knows his stuff.

I have not received anything at all for writing this review..

Hawthorne plumbing is by far the worst company to ever have do repair work or a new a/c install! I got a new very expensive roof top split AC /furnace unit was sold to me I was told I have a 5yr parts and 1yr labor warranty when my a/c unit wasn't working blowing hot air after only 11 months of it being installed. I called the dispatch service which notified the company and never got a call from the company. I called the company locally and was told by the manager that we will not come to service your unit you need to call another HVAC plumbing company to work on your air-conditioning. The warrantees that Hawthorne sells there customers is a fake the unit comes with the manufacture warranty and that's what I was told to go through after already being sold on a warranty through Hawthorne plumbing. For being a union outfit related with the local 525 they are a joke save your money and call somebody that really warranties and stands behind their word, work, and craftsmanship!!

The rental company that I leased my house from hired these guys to repair a broken water heater. The woman that does the scheduling called me and set an appointment up with me for 9am. I said that was fine. they seemed professional and courteous. So the morning of the appointment I'm getting my kids ready for school and I didn't hear my phone ring at 825am they were calling but i didn't see the phone call until about 840am. So I called them back several times but no answer. Then I waited and no one showed up. Finally at 10 am the woman answers and I ask her what happened. She informs me that she instructed the plumber to go to the next call since I didn't answer the phone. That I am going to have to reschedule for another day. I told her that I had not previously been told if I didn't answer that would happen and to please get someone out that day since my hot water had been out for about three months all ready. I didn't know they were going to be calling me at 825 am for 9am appointment or they were going to cancel. That is something you should inform your customers of at the time the appointment is made. I told her I tried to return the call several times with no answer. She starts yelling at me telling me that she had an appointment that she couldn't miss and that she is not sending anyone out today they didnt have time. I told her that I felt that was very unprofessional and asked for a manager she replied very rudely she was the only one there and if I wanted them to schedule me or not! I hung up and called the rental company who finished dealing with them. I would only recommend this company to people who like being treated rudely and unprofessional!

I have Old Republic Home Protection warranty for a home my wife and I just moved into. She came home last night to find water in the garage...toasted water heater.

Call the warranty numbrer and get dispatched to this company for service in the am at my request.

After several calls to the dispatch center and ORHP call center I get in touch with the on call tech Keno. He gives me his cell number and tells me top call him when I can get out of work to come check it out.

I get off early and he is at the house in 30mins...does the right up and gives me the usual breakdown about code upgrades and such. Out of pocket 360 including my deductible for ORHP. Called and fixed in less than 24HRS.

Thank you Hawthorne plumbing heating and air conditioning for your speedy response in this triple digit heat wave. Your air conditioning tech was freindly, honest, and precise. He had my daughter's air conditioner working again in less then an hour. While we waited for the tech to get here, Your dispatch was communicating and assured us the problem would be taken care of.
