I have called Bolt Electric several times for electrical issues in my home. Each time a technician has come, he (Andy) was really professional! He explained everything as he was doing it and we even had a discussion about preventative maintenance. His expertise, professionalism, and positive attitude speak volumes on who he is and how great a company like Bolt Electric really is. As long as I live in San Antonio and need electrical help with my home, I will go to Bolt

It's late on a Friday evening and I sent a message to Steve about a breaker that blew and was acting up. He responded quickly and helped diagnose the issue. For now it's working but will have Steve come out and throughly review the system and replace breaker if needed. Thanks again to Steve for his help!

It's hard to find a good and honest electrician. I was happy to have come across True Electric Service yelp account. Tony is awesome he's reliable, does clean work, and has competitive prices. Stetson and his apprentice, Sammie showed up on time, ready to work at my rural Truck Park. They were professional, focused, and got the job done correctly and promptly, including back breaking trenching and shovelling. Hard to find electricians willing to do the dirt work, but Stetson and Sammie did it. Good communication throughout, and reasonably priced too. They have my highest recommendation!

Provided feedback and owner responded and essentially dismissed everything I had to say. Here is his message along with my response:
Owner:
I was made aware that you took issue with work that we recently performed for you. It is my understanding that you took issue with the following:
-The motion sensor that was installed for your bedroom lights was meant to be installed for your bathroom lights
-The Nest security camera that we installed for you resulted in a bush in your back yard sustaining some minor damage.
I have spoken with the technician who did the installation and my estimator that priced this work for you. I have also reviewed the invoice. The invoice clearly states that the motion sensor was to be installed in your bedroom and you signed for the completed work. This would indicate that you were satisfied with the installation and the location / function of the motion sensor. Furthermore, the technician says that he advised you not to install the motion sensor in your bedroom. If you would like us to move the motion sensor to another location, that can be done, but at an additional cost.
After speaking with both my estimator and installing technician, we will not compensate you for damage to a bush. Your vegetation in the backyard is overgrown and both of my employees advised you that there may be some minor damage to the vegetation because of where you wanted us to mount the cameras. You indicated that would not be a problem and asked us to proceed. Again, your signature on the invoice and payment would indicate that you were satisfied with the work performed.
My response to above message:
I was NOT informed that there would be damage to my plants (see pics below) and was only informed after-the-fact, once I approached installer in the backyard during installation.
As for the bedroom light, also not correct. I directed the installer to install motion detector device in bathroom. He informed that he couldn't. At that point is when I directed to install in bedroom.
You're right, the signature represents my sign off on work performed. However, it doesn't always characterize the context of the situation. If you choose not to redress, that's fine - I'll simply share my perspective /experience in the appropriate area.
To be clear, the installer was very courteous and professional. However, soft skills doesn't always align with technical competence.
Not a five star service.

Fantastic customer service. Honest and transparent, Noel explained the entire reason as to why our AC system wasn't functioning properly. We so appreciated the honesty and lack of pushy ness and fabrications. We'll be calling again... thank you..!

Professional, safe, thorough, efficient and reasonably priced. I had a wiring issue before I could install a new pool pump timer. Steve was there when he said he would be and did what he said he would do. He even came back to check the wiring when timer wasn't working and he determined it was a defective part. He then rewired the replacement part - gratis. Now THAT's customer service. I would use him again and recommend him to anyone needing an electrician.

UPDATE: Malco Electric reached out to me by phone and told me there was an error in my invoice, so I shouldn't have been charged for the apprentice as well as the journeyman. They voided my check and I was able to pay for the fixed invoice (just the journeyman). I appreciate their quick response and resolution to my issue. Putting my review back to 5 stars!

I was having electrical issues at my house and my oven and stovetop wasn't getting power. I called Darin and he was able to schedule me for the next morning. He showed up early, diagnosed the problem and was able to fix it in less than an hour. His prices are extremely competitive compared to other electricians I talked to. He was straightforward and honest about what was wrong and didn't try to upsell me on fixing anything else besides my immediate issue. I will call them back for any future electrical issues. I recommend you give them a call if you need an electrician.

I needed two towel rods hung. No problem for Dan. I needed a hook for a guitar. I tried to do it myself because the hook said drywall. Dan knew it needed a stud. I needed a mailbox as part of my honey do list but Handyman Dan did that and had to think outside the box since all the bolts on the original had rusted and then stripped. Finally, Dan helped me hang my mantle piece without a mantel by drilling into stone. Dan was professional, prompt, polite, and easy as pie.

We purchased 6 acres of raw land a few years ago and took on all of the GC work ourselves. Which of course includes finding businesses to plumb, drill, build and bring in power. Maury has proven time and time again that he has the skills and extensive knowledge required to help with the multiple buildings we have on site. His recommendations have not only saved us money, but have also improved the overall design. I highly recommend this business and the professionalism that Maury brings.

At the end of a hot day in August 2013, my AC stopped blowing cold and by 7PM it was 80 degrees in the house. I called the number on my AC unit from when it was installed, and Jon Wayne Heating and Air Conditioning answered, as they had purchased the number when the other company went out of business. They could not come that night but could send a technician to perform an 'evaluation' between 8AM and Noon the next day for $29. I agreed.
The next morning, the AC unit was mysteriously working again, and the house was back at 72 degrees, but I still wanted the evaluation.
The Jon Wayne AC tech showed about 12:20PM. I was anxious, as I had a meeting scheduled in Austin at 3PM, and needed to leave town by 1:15-1:30 at the latest.
He spent 50 minutes in the evaluation, then showed me that my AC unit was very clogged inside, and used a geiger-counter kind of mechanism with lights to say I had an area leaking freon, so the real need was to replace the entire coil. He said he needed to go out to his truck and arrange an estimate for me. I let him know I needed to leave, soon.
While he was estimating, I called my realtor, as I planned to put my house on the market the following month. The realtor said if the coil replacement estimate was more than $900, to call his source, and he gave me an alternate AC contact. I also looked online for coil replacement costs, and the consensus was that depending on the size of the unit, it can run $1000 to $2200.
It was 1:15PM and the Jon Wayne tech had not come in, yet, so I went out to him. His estmate was for $4225! As this was more than twice the highest I had seen in my research, I paid the $29 and sent him on his way. He did offer a simple 'air movement' service for $1260, before he left.
I called the realtor-referred AC person, and he BURST OUT LAUGHING at the quote for coil replacement from Jon Wayne Heating and AC. He sent a tech out, who also evaluated and quoted me $430 to remove the unit and completely clean it out and re-install it, and said since I am selling, that should be fine. If I wanted to replace the coil, the total, including cleaning, would be $860.
I scheduled the cleaning and they arrived on time and the unit is working perfectly.
BEWARE Jon Wayne Heating and Air Conditioning having you at their mercy on a hot day when your AC is out!
