Randy Mallory is a 7th generation Texan, born in Waco, TX and moved here in 1960 due to his father's job as food director of St. Edwards University. He graduated Crockett High School in 1972, enrolling in IBEW's Electrical Apprentice program, completing it in 1978, when he became a licensed Journeyman Electrician. He gained much knowledge working for great contractors in the Austin area before he acquired his Master Electrical License. He is married to Tina Mallory.
Randy is a family man, active in church and community, and loves hunting.
His locally owned business has been serving homeowners and business owners for over 31 years. He employs qualified Journeyman and Apprentices who are well trained in the electrical trade. Randy operates his business with quality, integrity and honesty since 1983.

A breaker tripped and suddenly the outlets for my oven, washer, and dryer weren't working. Resetting the breakers didn't seem to work. I called the office hoping someone might be available even though it was a holiday - I was able to reach someone on call right away and they headed straight over.
I'm embarrassed to say that when he arrived, the problem was that the breakers weren't in the correct position on one side - sigh. Of course I was ready to pay for his time but he was kind enough not to charge me - incredibly generous. 100% would recommend for any electrician work needed.
We have needed extensive electrical repairs over the past several months. Jimmie and his team at Malco Electric are responsive and always do a great job. Sheri at the office is super at getting us on the schedule for quick service. The team always shows up on time and handles all repairs efficiently and professionally. Plus their rates are very reasonable. Highly recommend!

I guess we will agree to disagree. Do not agree with your reply to our review!! We DID call back to Sheri's phone call saying they had a opening right at that minute. We were out running errands and did not hear our phone ring. When we did notice she had called and left a message we called back immediately!!! She said thank you for calling back but that little window of opportunity was gone and that she would call us back when she could get us scheduled. Never called us back!! And Mr. Jimmy DID have an attitude of indifference. Wether this is just his personality we have no clue. So we stand by our review of your company!!

UPDATE: Malco Electric reached out to me by phone and told me there was an error in my invoice, so I shouldn't have been charged for the apprentice as well as the journeyman. They voided my check and I was able to pay for the fixed invoice (just the journeyman). I appreciate their quick response and resolution to my issue. Putting my review back to 5 stars!
Easy to work with for sure. Called and made my appointment, they showed up exactly as planned.
They had to come fix something I broke, and didn't make me feel like a moron.
Both guys were nice, competent and efficient. Costs were very reasonable given the work requested.
These are my electricians now.

Malco electric made me wait a month for my appointment for a backup generator estimate, which was fair as generators are in high demand. However, Jimmie, who was meant to show up on February 7th never showed up.
I have attempted to contact him and never got a response.
We came home from our vacation and had no hot water. Our electrical main panel was hissing, not a good sign. We called Randy and he came out 2 hours later and gave us a bid. A few days later his crew replaced the panel. I highly recommend Malco Eletric!

I called Malco electric for a little próject I wanted to start in my living room. I needed a dedicated outlet for my electric fireplace. Jimmy and his assistant came by and gave me a very reasonable quote. Today workers arrived and were very professional and polite. They got the work done faster than I expected and now I can continue my project adding my little fireplace feature wall. I highly recommend malco electric for any electrical work. Expensive, but efficient and reliable. They were dispatched within an hour of my calling and fixed my sub panel breaker issue in under an hour. A journeyman and an apprentice arrived, and you pay for both of their time. I don't think I needed both, but it was an emergency and they were both easy to work with and again, reliable. Very glad I found them and would use them again!
I walked out to leave today and the outlet in the garage looked as if it had twinkle lights plugged in, but nothing was plugged in. Needless to say my internal breaker flipped, especially considering it is Saturday.
I flipped the plug breaker and came into start the dreaded hunt for an electrician that would show up on a Saturday, not be a troll and half, diagnosis, and fix the issue.
I am beyond please to say Malco came through with flying colors! Voice mail had numbers for people to call in case of an emergency. Jimmie was listed first and he answered the phone on the first ring. Jimmie immediately alerted Cody, the person on call. Cody, called me within in minutes of me texting the address and he was here far sooner than I anticipated. All was fixed and my internal breaker has reset to resting peacefully in under 2 hours.
Cody took the time to walk me through how he diagnosed and fixed the issue. He also took the time to talk to me about how to get ahead of potential electrical concerns on an aging house (38 going on 39 years old). Definitely one of those people who is enjoyable to talk to, no misogynistic overtones or condescending attitude.
Thank you Malco, Jimmie, & Cody! You saved my weekend and likely my house from burning to the ground.
We have had Malco Electric company come out for multiple jobs at our house - anything from replacing electrical outlets, putting dimmers in and wiring kitchen lighting. We have always had a good experience with their services.
When we found out my mother's house had an electrical fire in an outlet, we called Malco Electric for help. They prioritize the job because it was an emergency/fire hazard and were able to work out getting someone out to her house within a few hours to fix the problem. We are very grateful for the work that they do and will continue to hire them for all our electrical projects.

Be careful. These guys are a complete scam!!! Dont believe anything they say. Had an ice covered limb fall on my line to the house but we still had power to the house. Called them and they came out said they would have to rebuild everything and rattled off all these things I would have to have totaling over $7,000. They said if I signed the agreement right then, I would never be without power and they would have it done in one day. From what I was seeing I could not believe it was that expensive. I called a second company and they had a guy out this morning at 7am, (2-8-23). He looked at it and said it would be $1,500 and he could be done by noon. It is now 11:33am on the same day and he is all done and he called PEC and they already turned me on. Malco, Greg and Randy, will try to fool you with their good ole boy , home town, been here for ever schpeel with self inflicted bad grammar & forced accents but dont be fooled. I certainly dont mind people making money, even slightly exploiting a crisis like this but to try to charge me over 500% than what it took is almost, if not, criminal.

They seem really nice but I can't get them to do any work for me. They've been out to my house and said they'd get back to me. They did call eventually to say they'd call me the next week to start working on our project. Nope and that was months ago. They are nice though.

Chris at Malco Electric is the best....well worth the wait for an appointment. He is professional, very knowledgeable, punctual, and is a problem solver. He works with speed to keep bills reasonable.....does not overcharge. The office staff are friendly, efficient and keeps customers happy. I have used Malco Electric for over 20 years and they have been great in all respects.
Excellent service & response time. They will return after the holidays to perform more recommended work.

Two months wasted. I assume this company does good work because I had to make an appointment a whole month out. Which made it even more frustrating when my appointment got cancelled. I've called back several times, to only get the run around and to never have my appointment rescheduled. Very dissapointed.

DO NOT USE THEM! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF! My tenant's electricity was out, and I found Malco on Yelp. I appreciated that they got me a same day appointment, and the front desk was very nice. What got me angry was how the Malco tech charged me close to $500 for doing literally nothing. The Malco tech named Andrew called me after being in the home a few mins, and said he wasn't able to fix the problem because there was a lock that only the City of Austin could unlock. Coincidentally, the City of Austin tech was on- site fixing another unit's electricity, and he ended up turning my unit's electricity on also. The Malco tech's response for the nearly $500 charge: I spent time driving to the home, spent time walking up 5 flights of stairs because elevators were inoperable at that time, and I spent time talking to the City of Austin guy. He didn't do a single thing to the home, but said that was the fees set by management. I've been a homeowner and landlord for 20 years, live in the Bay Area where services and labor are expensive, and I've been charged at most $175 for a visit charge. Malco didn't physically do anything to fix the problem, but apparently gas, some exercise up and down the stairs, and a quick conversation with City of Austin would cost you $500. Even my tenant whom I never met, said they shouldn't charge me anything because Malco was in the home for 10 mins and didn't do anything! I have never written a bad review, but I want to prevent others from making the same mistake I did by calling Malco. They are rude, unprofessional, and will try to rip you off! Stay away from them!

I have worked with Malco Electric a couple of times and has come to regard them as one of the best. What I like most is that they are honest, reliable and employ competent journeymen and apprentices that communicate well and complete the tasks quickly, professionally and for a reasonable price. They have also been around for a long time and have received some accolades in the Austin area. Would hire again for sure.
Malco is fantastic. Fair prices, great communication, and they actually care about their customers. Plus, their work is simply first rate! Very happy customer!

I didn't end up using them due to scheduling conflicts but they were super friendly, competent, and responsive.
Our AC system broke down Friday night due to a fizzled circuit breaker. This began a search for weekend emergency electric repair. One company would charge well over 300. for diagnosis and overtime, not including the actual repair cost and time. Two other companies wrote back to ask about repair, but did not say if they would be available to replace the breakers. Meanwhile the indoor temperature climbed to temperatures unmanageable by fans.
Early Saturday I recommenced searching for an electrician. Seeing the excellent reviews for Malco I called. Their phone message gave three numbers for emergency calls; identifying Jimmy as first to call. Jimmy answered immediately and offered to send an electrician on Saturday. Jimmy gave Chris our information, who called ahead saying he would arrive at our house within an hour. His work was efficient and thorough. He tested the AC and Furnace breakers and said that only the AC breaker needed replacement.
Based on this seamless excellent service experience, I will call Malco to schedule an estimate appointment for future electric repairs. Their response time, overall professionalism, and thoroughness brought great relief, and earned my trust.

Greetings Austin! Looking for an electrician to install and assemble your chandelier at a really affordable cost? Look no further - Malco Electric is legit.
I evaluated and received a number of quotes from several electricians in the Austin area before deciding on Malco Electric, which Ended up being the best decision ever! Cody and his team were responsive, on time, worked efficiently and provided great pricing. Jimmie was also super responsive to my questions about their service and they were all honest and down to earth.
Initially, I was very nervous about who was going to install my very large, heavy, glass chandelier that I spent several thousand dollars on and took months before it was delivered. When the chandelier finally arrived in came in a million pieces and I was concerned who was going to be able to put it together. Cody and his team worked together and successfully assembled/installed the chandelier within 3 hours and it turned out beautifully! I just sent Chris and Eliot out the door, and--as usual--they made life better while they were in my home. From Sherry who answers the phone to Chris or whoever comes out in the call, these people are running their business the way I wish everyone would. They have never let me down once in all the years I've used them, in three different homes. It's so unusual to place a service call and start feeling less stressed the minute I dial the number, but that's what happens when I dial Malco. Every time.
Malco was able to help me with triaging an issue over the phone to identify the problem. Turns out, there was an easy fix which didn't require them to come out. Appreciated the quick win and awesome service.

We called Malco a week ago to have a few outlets put in in our (1940s) home. Our wiring is older and difficult to deal with so we weren't sure what we were going to get but I'm so glad we called these guys. Chris showed up with a second electrician in tow (sorry friend, I forgot your name) and they were super efficient. They also did a great job explaining how our home's wiring is laid out and how we can best work with it in the future.
Our bathroom in particular did not have the proper wiring to install an outlet safely but they were able to go the extra mile and run things from elsewhere in the house. I honestly can't believe how quickly they worked, how clean the house is now that they're gone, and how inexpensive it all was. I'd have done this months ago if I'd known about them. I'm putting Chris on speed dial for any of my future projects.
In case anyone is concerned, they kept masks on the entire time, making sure that they had their noses covered entirely the entire time. They left every area that they touched cleaner than it was when they arrived.
Had a small, non-urgent job (single can light + new outlet install) and these guys were efficient, skilled, easy to schedule and reasonably priced. Would definitely call again!
They installed a generator outlet for a backup generator I purchased. Fast, safe, good price. Will use again if I ever need an electrician.

I had a small job, a DIY gone wrong and I needed to call in the pros. I botched the electric wiring on a garbage disposal and created a tough problem. They slid me in pretty quick and everyone I dealt with was really nice and chill and helpful. And the price was more than fair I thought. 5 stars all the way!
Malcolm Electric's communication is exceptional amongst this great group of people! A lovely woman by the name of Shari answered the phone and listened to my problem! She was able to get her brother Randy to help me out and he was very knowledgeable in how to resolve my dilemma. I will be using them again! Thank you so much!
We had a weird issue with burnt plastic smells randomly showing up in the house and called Malco for help. They were extremely thorough and while checking for any issues they identified a handful of other problems (like incorrect fuses and a circuit that was mislabeled). We identified the source of the smell and were able to leave for a planned trip without the stress of wondering if the house was going to have an electrical fire. We really appreciated their professionalism and knowledge. I will definitely give them a call the next time I need an electrician.

I cannot say enough good things about this company. They are amazing. Every person I have been in contact with or have had come to my home is very professional and courteous. I have hired them for three different jobs in the last year. The first one was to install a European wiring light which they did a wonderful job. Next, they installed a chandelier in the dining room which turned out very nice. This third time, it has been an ongoing project with lighting and fan installation on our patio. We have had to coordinate with other contractors to do other parts of the work before the actual fan could be installed, and everyone at Malco has been so patient (especially Chris!) while the other contractors did their piece of the work and then came back out to finish out the job. Part of this last project was also installing an electric box so we can hang a TV outside. It took some creative thinking because we have flat roofing, but they made it work! Same with some additional lighting on the patio with these flat roofs, but all is well. I highly recommend this company and will continue using them in the future.

Our kitchen island outlet did not work. After reading the stellar reviews, I decided to call Malco to repair. I am glad that I did. From my initial call, which was answered on the first ring, to the point that the job was completed, I knew that Malco was the right choice. I feel that it is important to write this review because there are not many companies today that still do the right thing and stand by their work. After their initial repair, the outlet tested fine but stopped working after the first use. I called and they immediately scheduled another team to come out. After deeper analysis, there was a bigger problem at hand. Malco sent out 2 Master Electricians to diagnose and repair the issue. I remind you that the job had already been paid for so they were here to warranty the work and make sure that I was happy. These gentlemen were pros and communicated with me throughout so there were not any surprises. There was a possibility of multiple holes in the wall during discovery, they would need to cut the island base to get to the wiring, etc. I agreed and luckily, they were able to replace the wire with only one hole in the wall and one in the base of the island. At the end of the job, everything works perfect and they cleaned up and replaced the wood and drywall panels that had to be cut out. Thank you Malco for being a company that can be trusted and places value on customer service. You are the only company I will ever call when electrical service is required and will be my only recommendation for friends and family that need the same!

These guys are wonderful and if you don't use them, you must have onion soup for brains. That pretty much sums it up. We got tired of waiting for Malco, so we hooked up with an electrician based in Houston, who provided us with an amazing amount of misinformation.
We ate some humble pie and called Randy. He found a way to fit us in and did the job quickly and perfectly.

I needed to have my ancient electrical panel replaced at my home. Malco gave me by far the best bid (of three) and also was clearly the more together company of the bidders. The work was done when it was promised, and that despite obstacles that arose that were completely beyond Malco's control. I was really happy. This is a business like you wish all businesses would be. (I do hope they will update their company logo, but that has nothing to do with how they handled the job.) Highly recommended.

We had Malco Electric out to the house to replace a faulty breaker, install two dimmers, and troubleshoot an outdoor plug. The company is busy, but was able to get us on the schedule and it was well worth the wait. I forgot to write down the name of the electricians that came out (sorry). However, they both were professional, did a neat job and cleaned up afterward. We have a new grand baby and didn't want her to get exposed to the flu or any bugs...so both of the gentlemen wore mask while inside the house. This was very considerate and made us two very happy grandparents. The price was fair and we could not be happier. We would recommend this company and will have them out again when we have need of additional electrical services.
Malco recently replaced the electric service panel in my 70 year old home. I had been having intermittent power fluctuations which the city of Austin determined wasn't on the line. Randy was able to assess the problem and the work was scheduled.
There is quite a bit of coordinating to be done with the city - power cut off and then inspection of the work. The city unfortunately fumbled on this, but Randy and his crew were professional and polite. The city finally came through and the work was done.

I will be calling them to add a couple of outlets and switch out a fixture. So good to have found a local small business! I recommend without hesitation.
Jimmie and Greg were so great to work with. Prompt, respectful, and best of all, did not try to talk me into unnecessary repairs/work. They were honest and saved me money. Finally found an electrician company that I will use all the time.
These guys are responsive and efficient. They hung an antique brass chandelier from a 14ft ceiling, which required them to make adjustments to the length of each chain on site (see photo). They did an impeccable job! They worked fast on an all day job without stopping for lunch. And they're price point was VERY reasonable.
I was experiencing electrical issues with my pool equipment and my pool service company told me lead times were 8 weeks. Greg spent time on the phone understanding the problem. Greg and Jimmy then came by same day and resolved the issue. Amazing service! They will be my go to for any and all electrical needs.

Juan replaced a switch that has been problematic for years, very neatly enlarging the wall opening (through both sheetrock and hardwood) to accommodate a new plastic box, eliminating the old metal one. All I need to say is these are the folks you need on your side. We had an issue with our electricity turning off. We called and they came out the same day. No other company was willing to do same day since there were problems everywhere. Malco Took on the issue we had and solved it quickly. Not only that we had them come back and service preventative things. Cody was a great help and super knowledgeable! Thank you Malco for your help and Cody for your experience in solving our crazy puzzle we had.
I needed two outdoor flood lights and two landscape lights installed and went on yelp to find the honest electrician I received many bids including 900 bid from a electrician who in my opinion outrages in price. I want all of you out there seeking a real honest nice guy it is MALCO ELECTRIC gave us a real good deal. He came early and prompt called first then came within mins. Actually he was more effective and reasonable price wise than any other electrician we hired in the past. I was quite happy with his service and will depend on him coming back.

Bought a used house with an unusual electrical wiring system and no wiring diagrams. Chris Lee came out and very quickly diagnosed the entire listing of problems, determined what inoperative switches controlled obscure outlets, quickly made the proper changes and installed replacements for faulty parts. In this world where nobody seems to understand how things work anymore he is most impressive; and this being my 22nd house I've seen and dealt with a great many electricians. He was very informative in his explanations as he diagnosed the odd systems to allow me to make notes for future reference. I found my new go to guy.

Jimmy was incredibly responsive, and after listening to what we wanted done, he told me he had the perfect guy. He was right. Chris came and worked incredibly hard. He was efficient with his time, patient with his assistant and myself, creative with his problem solving, and great vibe to be around. I felt he went above and beyond, and really listened to what we wanted to do. I will absolutely contact and hire him again for our next project!
Chose malco for two reasons. They were recommended on yelp and after checking with several others, their price for service call was only $95 when others were $150 or more.
Jimmie came out today promptly at 8 and did a quick fix on one fan that rattled then took down and reinstalled another ceiling fan. He was quick and cleaned up after himself. Good job and total was less than $150 for all.
I would certainly call them again in the future.
Great job by Randy, Barry and their team in replacing our 1960s Federal Electric breaker boxes. Randy gave a fast, friendly, and accurate estimate and organized the job. Even when things got complicated by the Corona outbreak, he communicated and broke the job into two separate jobs to maximize safety and efficiency. On the big day of the exterior switch out, his team was ready and able to complete the job quicker than we expected. Inspected and certified, we are good to go. Malco is our new go to electricians!
Great company. Helped me with time crunch to install a dedicated circuit to fridge and added recessed lighting that was somewhat difficult as the wiring had to be incorporated with other fixtures. They were precise, professional, and cleaned up when finished. I like the fact they charged by the hour, fees were transparent and reasonable. I highly recommend.

I bought 2 houses that both needed a major electrical overhaul (rewiring, new outlets, electrical box upgrades). Jimmy came out for initial inspection, and Cody Jemes was a total ROCK STAR electrician (did great work)! He helped me upgrade everything necessary for safety, and was super professional and helpful in explaining what/why the upgrades were needed. He works fast and was extremely thorough. We have used Malco a few times in the past, and they have always been so professional and done a great job. We most recently had a appointment that was no longer needed but due to a mix-up Malco arrived at our house. They were still so gracious and professional about it and even provided some advice on some other potential work. Cannot recommend them enough!
I had an outlet go out in the bathroom (but the breaker was not tripped) - this is a new construction house so the outlets are GFCI protected. One must have been tripped. This was news to me (lived in 1931 house before). Greg walked me through the reset over the phone, AND answered his phone (which is a rare service these days). I'm saving his number for any future electrical needs.
Seriously, don't call anyone else. These guys are professional, courteous and great service. We thought we had a major problem that was quite minor and where others told us they couldn't come out for 2-3 weeks they came out same day and solved our problem quickly. I highly recommend and will recommend to our neighbors too. Thanks Malco.

I found Malco Electric online, and after reading the many positive reviews, I reached out for a consult with Jimmie, and scheduled an appointment for the Journeyman and Apprentice to come out and take care of the job. Loving the finished product! Everyone was professional and friendly, and really went the extra mile to make sure we were happy with the placement and overall job. Would recommend this company 100%!

We were contacted by Austin Energy to hire an electrician to work on our meter, as it wasn't working properly and we had 14 days to fix the issue. Malco Electric worked with us to quickly send electricians to our house and look at the issue. When it was discovered that Austin Energy would need to also be dispatched and power to our house turned off, Malco Electric showed up twice to wait for Austin Energy. Today, for the third day in a row, they showed up early, called Austin Energy, fixed the issue very quickly and we were pleasantly surprised when they did not charge us for the other two times their electricians came to wait and Austin Energy did not show. We are so grateful to have this issue fixed quickly and easily. Thank you to Jimmie and Greg for all of their help and patience helping us resolve our issue. Will be using Malco Electric again!

We recently used Malco to fix a number of small problems with outside lighting and plugs. From start to finish, they were great to work with. They called the morning of our appointment to confirm their arrival time. Fixed our problems quickly and were great in explaining what the causes and fixes were. And their prices were very reasonable for the work done. We will use Malco again for any electrical work.
What a great company! Victor came out to my house today and did a great job. He also took the extra time to educate me on some simple DIY maintenance around the house. Can't say enough good things about these guys. I called them yesterday with an emergency, and they were here first thing in the morning to help me out.
Victor and his helper Anthony did a wonderful job replacing electric outlets and light switches and covers in two separate rooms. They were efficient and thorough. Victor even cut and fit a light switch cover that did not otherwise fit the space. He did that without my even asking. And they checked before coming to be sure I had the parts I needed.
This is the second time I have used Malco Electric and once again they went out of their way to help and fix what I needed. Thanks Malco -

I contacted Malco because our main/overhead kitchen lights went out. Chris arrived within a few hours. He provided great/friendly customer service, completed the job quickly, and even gave me a recommendation on how to remedy my flickering lights on my chandelier. I will definitely call these guys again for all my electrical issues!
Called Malco because we were having some issues with tripped outlets. Our house is older and we knew we needed some electrical work done. They sent Cody and he was fantastic. He checked everything and gave us multiple options of how to get the work done. Once agreed, he showed up on time and he came in even a little under the original quote! His work was great and ai will definitely be calling them if we need electrical work in the future!
I called Malco Electric after hours and got their recorded message. Since I had been without electricity for over 3 days during the recent ice storm I called their emergency number and the line was immediately answered by Jimmy. He told me due to the ice storm it might be a while before he could work me into his schedule for an appointment but offered to help with my problem over the phone right then. Long story short, Jimmy talked me through some simple procedures to reset my circuit breakers. His procedures worked and my electricity was restored. Thanks to his help my family got our electricity back without waiting for days to fix what amounted to a simple problem. And he did this free of charge. Thank you Jimmy. Malco Electic is now my go to electricians.
Prompt, efficient and fairly priced. Barry was personable and certainly knew what he was doing - I'm so pleased to have read the reviews and opted to call Malco Electric.

I called Malco Electric Friday June 28th and I'm still waiting for my call back. I spoke to I believe Randy Mallory's wife who said he was out of town and would call me on Monday. Never received a call back so I tried to call again. I spoke to a man who said they were very busy but he would pass my information along and still I have not had a call back. I called Malco for a quote because of the yelp reviews and they promise a call back in 12 hours. At least you could have returned my second call and said you were too busy to help me. I won't be calling back again.
Needed some electrical help on short notice and called Malco. The lady who answered the phone was SUPER nice, asked a few questions, and then she put Cody on - AWESOME DUDE! Diagnosed the issue over the phone, then called one of his guys in the field, Victor, who was headed home for the day but turned around to head to my place. Victor was terrific - super kind AND knowledgeable...he took the time to really explain things to me. He fixed the problem very quickly. Phenomenal experience all the way around. Needles to say: Malco will be my go-to electricians from now on!

Malco Electric was recommended to me by my plumber that I trust and respect as a professional. From the beginning of my communication with Malco employees they each exceeded my expectations by listening to my electrical issue affecting my washer & dryer and power outlets in my bathroom then accommodating my schedule and following up the day of my appointment to be efficient with my home repair. Josh is the Journeyman that came to repair a blown out electrical line in my breaker box and repair my GFI and other power outlet in my bathroom. He asked if I needed anything else and I received a quote for installation of a GFCI on my back porch. Finally he explained the itemized invoice ($200) for the work completed and emailed it to me. I highly recommend Malco Electric for their reasonable highly skilled professional service. They are a company you can trust and rely on. I will be using them again in the near future.

I needed someone to come in a keep me from burning down my house or worse, for a small job. Chris and Adam came on time and did a clean job. Chris listened to what I was wanting to do, made some suggestions for better alternatives and I ended up with a great product that looks much more attractive that what I was asking for. No complaints. Very professional. I would use them again... if I get to do another 'small project' around the house.
The entire experience, from calling to inquire about getting a quote, to scheduling my estimate, to completing the job, was fantastic! Jimmie showed up on time (actually, early which I appreciated) for my estimate and was thorough, professional and engaging. The price was fair and scheduling for the actual job was easy. The electrician and apprentice showed up on time, were courteous, and made sure I was satisfied. All in all, a very pleasant experience so I can see why they consistently get top marks.
Sherry worked me into the schedule and Cody was at my house within a couple of hours. I could not have asked for better service. These folks are fantastic!

I am a landlord and this is the second time I have used Malco. Last time, they fixed my issue quickly, billing is reasonable and simple. This time, they called me back and offered advice that avoided a trip and any out of pocket costs all together. Super responsive and helpful. I will absolutely call again.
Great job, on time on budget and very professional. I used them for a small job and liked their work so I used them the same week for another job. The only issue I had was using them twice the same week I had to pay two consultant fees. Had I known I would have just had them do everything at once. I will use them again if I need to, and also would recommend their services to others.

I reached out to Malco Electric to make several corrections to a property I was flipping in Austin. The original contractors (not Malco) had left several wiring issues unresolved that were pointed out in the inspection by the buyer. I called Jimmie, and he quickly reviewed the inspection report and gave me his best guess estimate. (All I could ask for since they had not even seen the property.) He was honest and fair with his pricing. The guys were done a little early and used less wire than predicted, so was a little under the quote. Yeah!
Truth be told, Jimmie, Greg and the tech Chris were reliable, very professional, courteous and on-time. The tech called me to update me on their progress. It was a two-day job and they were just fantastic to work with. I highly recommend Malco Electric to anyone who wants the job done right, on-time, and by honest professionals.
I even had an issue with the connection point to the city line and Jimmie called Austin Energy on my behalf to resolve the issue. Thanks guys for the great service. See you on the next one!

If their service is anywhere close to how their electricians drive, I say stay far away! Nearly ran off the road today by one of their trucks, with full on hand gesturing as well. All because 2 lanes merged into one? Courtesy on the road translates into your work as well. Step it up, don't step on the gas.

Malco Electric has gone out of their way time and again to get the job done as quickly and cost-effectively as possible for us. They've certainly gained a customer for life with me...from installing a pretty challenging car charger to just updating our outlets, they're always on time, courteous, and thorough. Highly recommend!
Had a problem with one of my GFCI outlets. Called and spoke with Greg @ Malco eletric. As there were booked up for a few weeks, Greg guided me through the process so that I, myself, could replace the GFCI correctly. He asked me to send him a picture of the wiring on the back of the outlet and then called me, telling me how to wire it properly. WORKS!
Thanks, Greg and Malco Electric. I can recommend them without any hesitation and will continue to use them in the future.

We were having problems with a couple of breakers tripping.
Malco Electric fitted us into there schedule the next day.
Josh notified us when they were 20 minutes away and showed up on time.
Josh diagnosed the problem with the 2 breakers and informed us the 2 breakers were wearing out. Josh replaced the 2 breakers and all is good again.
I would recommend Malco Electric for an electric project or issue.

We recently had some pretty serious electrical work done only to find out that things were not working properly. We called Jimmie for a consultation/second opinion and he came out quickly, answered all our questions, and helped us come up with a plan to get everything fixed. He was wonderful and exactly what we needed in a time of stress and worry. Looks like we have a lot to fix from the last job, unfortunately, but we feel confident we'll be taken care of. Highly recommend.
This company is the best! Malco Elec. installed several plugs and switches in a party barn as well as installed a huge ceiling fan and three lights for the area. This is the 2nd time I've needed their help and both times everything went very smoothly and was done with the utmost in professionalism. Chris even went to the store in north Austin on his way home to pick up the ceiling fan for me when there was a mistake in the delivery! Otherwise I would have had to call them back out to install the fan another day. I'll definitely hire them again.
Victor and Anthony did an excellent job. We needed a noisy exhaust fan replaced and they had it done in no time. They were professional, wore masks, and wasted no time. 10/10 would call again.

The porch light & kitchen light were not working. I called Malco Electric talked with Cody received an appointment for the 7th of July however, they have a floater list I was placed on( floater list is :if they finished a earlier job then you move up on the list & perhaps they can do your service call sooner).
Well, I received a call that same day Andrew & Steve arrived, they replaced a florescent ceiling light in the kitchen with 2 Led strips using the same fluorescent light fixture. It seems the reason why the porch lights kept blowing out was I was tightening them in too much.! I asked questions about under cabinet led lights & Andrew answered all my question.
Andrew & Steve are professional, knowledgeable electricians & the work was done quickly. Thank you Malco Electric & especially Andrew & Steve. When I find the led lights for my cabinets I will call on Malco Electric to do the install. Thank you so much!
I am VERY happy with Malco Electric! I called them soon after they opened at 7 a.m. with a list of things I wanted done at my house. Within 90 minutes, 2 technicians were at my house already and started working on everything. Chris and Javier were entirely professional and conscientious as they worked. Chris took the time to explain what he was doing and why. While I know my repairs/installs are probably not the most challenging, they made me feel like I was their best and most important customer. They finished all of the work, cleaned up afterwards, and made sure I was entirely satisfied with everything. I will contact them in the future and would highly recommend them for any electrical work.
This review is for great customer service without a sale. Shari ANSWERED the phone when I called. She put me through to Greg to try to troubleshoot. They did everything they could and put me on a work-in list when we couldn't fix it on the phone. They were positively delightful. We will call them the next time we need help.
Great electricians. Jimmie, Cody, Josh, the whole gang. They found a way to fit us in right away and did a great job. They know the trade - found two issues where we were not up to code, and got things sorted. Will definitely use again.
They took the time to analyze the problem in advance. Discussed possible solutions. Once settled, the tech came out and handled everything in less than a hour. Punctual. Dependable. Reasonably priced.
I contacted Malco Electric when I noticed that the red wiring-fault light was illuminated on the surge protector that I use for my computer equipment. I then had the great pleasure of working with Cody. My old house (built in 1939) had about 10 older, two-prong outlets that needed to be replaced, and Cody did a stellar job of upgrading them quickly and efficiently. In addition to his expertise and his patience in thoroughly answering all of my questions, he's also a very nice, helpful, and personable guy. In summary, the service was fast, well done, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend Cody and Malco Electric!

Had a malfunctioning main breaker on New Years morning (5:00 AM). It was about 20 degrees out and my all electric house started cooling off fast.
I called about 20 places, but only Malco got back to me. They sent out Jimmie Bank and he was able to get me all fixed by about 7:30 or so.
A gecko had crawled up inside my main breaker panel and shorted himself out.
It says something about a place if they are willing to come out on a holiday at the break of dawn in freezing cold weather. Excellent work!

Malco came to my house within an hour of my call. They did a great job for a reasonable price.The electrician were pleasant and personable and completely professional. I will call again when I have an electrical problem.
I have used Malco Electric several times and they are always very prompt and courteous with great service. This last visit I called and they responded within 1 hour and took care of replacing the outlets.

Apparently electricians are in very high demand in Austin! I called two other electricians before I found one who was able to help me connect my girlfriend's new WeMo light switch. The folks at Malco were very polite and managed to get someone out to my girlfriend's house quite quickly.
The only reason why I reserved a star here is because it ended up taking two hours @$120/hr to connect the light switch, which seems, in my opinion, to be a lot of time to connect a light switch. But, apparently, it was a more difficult install than I had initially thought.
I spoke with the owner, Randy, about it and he was very polite and professional. You can tell that he cares a great deal about the company and providing great customer service which is the type of company that I like to do business with.
As a first time customer in June, I called Malco and Jimmie came out right away to review my issue and provided the correct diagnosis. Josh arrived the following morning with the required parts and quickly fixed it. Both gentlemen were extremely professional, kind, and informative. I will absolutely use Malco again in the future.

Malco Electric is fantastic!!!. Another contractor cut the major electrical wire to our AC condenser unit (so AC did not work). The electrician arrived exactly when they said he would. Due to the complexity of the situation (the cut wire was inside the ceiling in our garage), 2 additional electricians arrived and all 3 of them fixed the problem surprising quickly. They were all very professional and did great work. I will definitely contact Malco anytime I have an electrical problem!!!
Josh came out and rewired our new hot water heater after the original electrician did it incorrectly. Several days later, it stopped working. Greg came out in Josh's place and reset the thermostat to the correct temperature and that solved the problem. These guys both did a great job cleaning up after other people's shoddy service. Thanks again for going above and beyond!
We had two ceiling fans that quit working as well as a fuse braker problem. The two service men were excellent--they came on time, were friendly, professional and knowledgeable. They not only fixed the problems but were able to wire the fans so that we could use the wall stitches to operate them instead of having to use remotes. It was a relief to get it fixed all in one day. The cost was quite reasonable and fair. I recommend them highly. JD

Incredibly polite and courteous tech came by my house to check on a wiring issue. Chris solved the problem rather quickly and made some basic recommendations going forward on how to avoid the issue in the future. After this experience, I would definitely recommend Malco.
We recently purchased a home in spicewood and was having trouble with breakers being thrown. Jimmy from Malco responded quickly to my call and they were at our house within a few hours of calling. They even called out Pedernales Electric to help them determine why my breakers were being thrown. Jimmy explained everything he did very patiently to me and told me to call if anything else happened and they would come right away. I am very impressed with this company and the way they treat customers! I will definitely put Jimmy and Malco on my speed dial!
I love Malco. Everyone is sweet, starting with the phone call. Every electrician that has every been to my home, has been very kind and very knowledgeable. They are really a find, as well as a great value.
Great response times and communication, techs were friendly and diligent in their effort to repair our speaker issue, and helped out with after the fact troubleshooting over the phone with clarity and humor. Jimmie and his team were top notch in both customer service and technical know how.

Chris came out on short notice when they had another cancellation to repair a bonding screw installation problem that was discovered during our home inspection. He was knowledgeable and efficient. John in the office was also very kind and helpful during the scheduling process. Very appreciative of their professional work!
We had John R. come out to our home for a burning smell coming from our electric panel and I cannot praise Malco enough! He found a major issue that our home inspectors missed during our inspection and was able to not only come out at 8pm at night but explained everything to my husband as he was fixing it! Our AC wiring was incorrectly done on the breakers and we are so thankful for John's help! We now have a safe panel and AC again (phew!) within an hour or so. Highly recommend for their customer service and knowledge, don't hesitate to call Malco!

We found stray wires in our baseboards and under an old floor right in the middle of a new floor install. Randy, the owner agreed to come out (same day) as we were in a bind even though they were booked solid. He even helped us with an issue in our garage while he was here!

These guys are just fantastic. Called them towards the end of the day (3:30pm) and had someone at my door within 30 minutes. They fixed the problem ASAP (thermostat / furnace issue - not getting power) , charged a totally fair rate and were just the kindest and most courteous electricians we've ever worked with. I'd recommend these gents in a heartbeat.
Chris was excellent! He came to do work for us and was very efficient and thorough in locating our electrical problem and solving it quickly. Chris and other staff were very friendly and responsive. I am very happy with the work and appreciate that Chris didn't poke along to run up the clock. He also took the time to explain what the problems were, and how the GFIs were arranged, so we would know where to check first if we have future issues. I would definitely call Malco again if I have any electrical problems in the future! They were great!
They were able to get my job done within less than a week of calling. The guys that came out were very nice and really wanted to do a great job. They kept me informed along the way of the options I had and were done hanging our five foot tall light fixture within an hour. Would definitely use them again. Thanks guys!

This company is great. They actually answer the phone and call you back when they say they will. The service technician showed up the same day as the call and knowledgeably performed all the work needed. Highly recommended.
