My name is Ronnie Bowles. I'm a master electrician and the owner of Bolt Electric in San Antonio. I got my start as an electrician helper in 1985 when I went to work with my friend's dad at Richmond electric wiring the old Ray Ellison homes. I received my journeyman's license in 1992 and have worked for some of the larger electrical contractors in the San Antonio area. I have experience in all phases of the electrical trade, from residential to high-rise office buildings. In 2008 Bolt Electric was born and it has been my goal since the beginning to provide quality electrical service at a fair, competitive price - all done with honesty and integrity. I had several TO DO items that I needed help with; installing new pendant light, installing dimmers, install new smoke alarms, & installing a box to cover an electrical connections for outside fans. Bolt was actually early for our appointment and was professional and very knowledgeable. Got everything done quickly and for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend them for your next project(s).
I really appreciate the good communication with this business to determine what I needed, set up my appointment for quote and installation, then calling to confirm with me my appointment. And also the electrician himself calling me to let me know he was on his way was a nice gesture. My technician Robert was a very kind, knowledgeable gentleman. He was fast and replaced my backyard crusted old light fixture with my new Ring camera floodlight. And he helped me set it up on my cell phone with my Ring app. He made me feel very comfortable, safe, and he answered all my questions. Great company with excellent integrity. Thank you! A++++
During this pandemic I have had a hard time getting electricians to come out for repairs. I had flaky ones who no showed or did not do the work, way overpriced ones, and finally Bolt Electric. The electrician came out, charged an estimate fee which was applied to the work, and evaluated my concerns. When he looked at the electrical panel on the house and for my AC units he presented me with options for the work I wanted done (stand alone electric supply for my jacuzzi). In addition he advised me that my electric panel was ideal for a generator hook up and also suggested a surge protector for the panel.
I was emailed a quote for the work and compared the estimate to another electrician and found the price to be fair. I gave the go ahead to order the parts and set up a date for installation. I had to move the installation date back by a day which was not a problem for the company to accommodate.
The electricians showed up on time and did a professional installation. I was advised of a couple issues and options (not an upsell but a legitimate problem with my existing equipment that I was unaware of since I just purchased the house).
I was on the fence about the generator hook up but after talking to my neighbors about the rolling power outage from the 2021 freeze I opted for it to ensure my family would have power no matter what.
I was shone how to work the newly installed components and satisfied with the work and cost.
I highly recommend Bolt Electric and am arranging them to work on my rental house.

A simple truth... An overhead kitchen light is important. You don't even know how important until you don't have one. So, it stands to reason that the company you trust to come out and repair that important light must be competent, professional, and courteous. Bolt, and more specifically their electrician Robert, checked off each of those boxes.
Robert arrived early, performed a thorough diagnostic, and then presented me with my options. He even made an ad hoc trip to the local hardware store when he didn't have the part he needed.

Bolt didn't come want to come to our side of town to install security cameras and a doorbell, so we went with Mister Sparky and can highly recommend Mister Sparky and will use them for future jobs.
Bolt said the price of gas was the reason they did not come out this way. They lost out on a job and a lot of money.

Excellent work. We moved to a new house that hadn't been taken care of well. I found Bolt Electric on Yelp and they totally lived up to those good reviews.
Ronnie, the owner, came over and spent an hour and a half catering to my every question. He gave me an estimate and was very helpful.
David completed the work. Great attention was paid to both small and big tasks. Pricing was reasonable.
I'm very happy with the work and would hire again if need be.
I previously reviewed regarding installation of 5 fans in a timely manor. Bolt revisited and installed two more for us with the same excellent service. We have more work planned in the future and will be calling this company to perform the tasking.

Couldn't have been happier, start to finish. I reached out to multiple companies for quotes, these guys were not only the first to respond, but had the best customer service as well. They gave me an accurate estimate by a phone explanation alone for a more than fair price. They worked with my schedule and in no time, Robert and Austin showed up and knocked out installing a floodlight for us over the garage. They walked me through every difficulty they were having, such as a fun double wall with offset studs, giving me options at each step and explaining what their recommendation and approach would be. Even after the install was done, they stuck around to make sure I was happy with the positioning and smart home connection. They were more than patient, helpful, and professional. I can't recommend them enough. Thank you!

I need to run some tools that pull high amps in my garage but my new house only came with 1 outlet.
First let's start at the end: Bolt's craftsmanship was pretty damn good. His work looked 10 x's better than anything I've seen in this 2018 home. This guy made the home builder look flat out incompetent. The finished product was clean and classy. He even labeled the new breakers for me inside the breaker box.
So back to the beginning; the electrician and I talked about what I was trying to achieve, and he gave me a few options and dropped his recommendation on what would be the safest, easiest and most functional for my request. I took his recommendation, he was in an out in less than an hour.
The price. Well you get what you pay for right?!?. I needed someone to rewrite my home's breaker box. I'm not trying to get killed or burn the place down. The electrician explained what he's doing and why he's doing it. I'm sure I could have saved $10 or $20 bucks, but why? This is about safety and security. I needed the job done correctly, the first time.

I've had work done twice by Bolt. Both experiences were top notch. The jobs involved outdoor lighting installation and the results exceeded our expectations. Ronnie is deserving of my confidence on many things. I needed to have my main panel replaced with all of the connections and breakers, as well as the ground connection fixed and tested. The estimate was not the lowest, but NO ONE ELSE provided as much of a description of the work to be done. He also appeared confident in the estimate throughout the process. I was not sold anything, I felt comfortable with the whole service, I've recommended them to friends and family. I anticipate smaller electrical improvements soon, I will expand this review to cover more types of electrical work.

I have called Bolt Electric several times for electrical issues in my home. Each time a technician has come, he (Andy) was really professional! He explained everything as he was doing it and we even had a discussion about preventative maintenance. His expertise, professionalism, and positive attitude speak volumes on who he is and how great a company like Bolt Electric really is. As long as I live in San Antonio and need electrical help with my home, I will go to Bolt
I was really nervous to find a decent electrician - I thought I'd either get some yokel who couldn't figure out the problem or a total shyster who charged $600 the second he walked in the door.
I found Bolt Electric here on Yelp, so I crossed my fingers and gave them a try. They responded quickly, fixed my weird outlet issue, and were reasonably priced. The gentleman who came out was personable, professional and well-spoken.
I'd recommend Bolt to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy electrician!

Very professional, upfront hourly pricing quoted on the phone. I made an appointment, and I love that they called me the day before to assure me they were coming. The electrician arrived on time with a 10 minute call before hand. He was great with cats and dogs, also very efficient and professional. I would definitely use them again or recommend them to anyone.
My house is nearly 50 years old and required significant electrical work to be done. After reading reviews on Yelp, I decided to call for a estimate. I had bought a renovated 1979 house that had some electrical citations on the inspection I needed fixed. I e-mailed the inspection report to five electricians I found here on yelp asking for an estimate on the work listed in it. Ronnie was the only one to call me back, talk through the actual implications of what the inspector cited, and then reply with a formal written estimate. Others shot back a quick e-mail rattling off some numbers (a few slightly cheaper), but Ronnie was a professional in how he handled the bid so I felt confident the workmanship would be good.
He explained he could make an afternoon appointment to do part of the work and would come a second day to handle attic work so it wouldn't be so hot up there. As he tackled the tasks on the report, he explained everything, showed me the finished product, and answered some additional questions I had outside of the inspection results. When it came time for the follow-up appointment on a Saturday morning, he was fifteen minutes early and ready to go, and threw in a ceiling fan adjustment I had asked about as a complementary service. He's personable, knowledgeable and thorough. I appreciate his workmanship and will call again if I need further work. Thanks Ronnie.
Had a really fantastic experience working with Bolt Electric on a variety of home improvement projects that came up after recently purchasing a home.
The front office staff are friendly and responsive and Ronnie the electrician who worked on our house was knowledgable, friendly, and hard-working. He really knew his stuff.

BAIT AND SWITCH. I needed an electrician for 8 hours to install several items in my new house and was given a verbal quote over the phone which was a reasonable price however after the job was done they charged me a significantly difference price which was over $500 from the original quote. Good work but bad business practices. Be wary
Response to their explanation; I'm active duty military for 24 years and would never not pay for a service that was done for me and my family. We just transferred here from California and purchased a new house. I called around S.A. for the best price electrician so when I called Bolt Electric to hire an electrician for 8 hours they gave me specific pricing over the phone which was reasonable so I booked them for a day when I would be in town. I have several issues which was not mentioned in their response.
1. They did give me different pricing over the phone than what they charged me period. Lessons learned, ask for an invoice showing what they are charging so you have it in writing before the job which I never received.
2. As far as the second electrician, the lead electrician actually told me he didn't need him to hang the high ceiling fan, at that point he should had let him go. If I knew the real cost for the second electrician I would have had him gone in a quick minute.
3. I was also kind enough to invite the electrician to eat pizza that I had bought for my flooring guys that were working on my new floors that day. If I knew the real price I was paying I would have never had him on a lunch break on my dime.
Again, the electrician did good work but make sure you get their quote in writing. They did pursue me with a lawyer for the additional money which I didn't pay them for which was for my cancelled check fee, the second electrician who didn't do what he was hired to do, and the half hour lunch break that the lead electrician was more than happy to take.
Honestly, if I had time to retain a lawyer and take what the judge would have given I would have taken my chances.

We used bolt electric after reading all the Yelp reviews. We were very happy with their service. Very professional, on time and did a great job. We had additional outlets added in garage, 6 ceiling fans done and a media room wired. They were fair in the price and we would highly recommend. We will be calling them when we need an electrician again. Don't look any further, call them! :)

The work was done fast and the electrician was very knowledgable about the type of home I recently bought. I like that he discussed various options with me in regards to how we could fix my problem.
When I had problems with several outlets in my home, I called Bolt Electric. The people on the phones were very friendly and informative and helped me schedule an appointment. The day of the appointment, the electrician was running a little late, but he gave me ample notice and asked about my problem before coming over to ensure he had the proper supplies. When he got to my home, he identified the problem immediately and fixed it in less than 15 minutes and explained what he was doing throughout the process. I was extremely pleased with Bolt Electric and will definitely be a return customer for any future electrical problems.
Bolt did a great job tracking down the gremlin and getting it fixed quickly and fairly priced. Professional, great customer service, and showed up on time. Only negative is that I had asked him to quote another job while he was here, but I never heard back from him. No big deal - they still get a 5 star review - it was me thinking I needed more outlets in the garage that made me remember to write this review! Hired Bolt to install a GFCI circuit to my newly created deck. Great customer service ... she (Wendy) kept me up to date and was able to accept photos via text. My tech (Daryl) was super friendly and let me peek over this shoulder as he explained his techniques. Will definitely use them again!!!

Very pleased with Bolt Electric. We were able to get an appointment very quickly. What's more than that is that they were not only on time, but were able to squeeze me in earlier. Robert listened to my problem and was able to analyze the problem and get it fixed quickly. They did not qouge us on the parts and did not sell us service that we didn't need. I will use Bolt Electric in the future and will recommend them to anyone needing a safe, fair, and reliable electrician.
Bolt was fast, fair, and affordable. I called for help w/ electric timer motor for a pool pump expecting to see a service person sometime that week, and was shocked when 4hours later my timer was repaired. Bolt is customer service oriented, I would recommend them to anyone. Great Work Mr. Bowles.

Darryl came out and troubleshot a stubborn electrical issue. The journey took him through the attic a couple of times, outside the house, and through several rooms checking electrical connections. He didn't give up, and eventually found the problem. He fixed it and corrected a few other minor issues he uncovered. Very pleased with his professionalism and know-how. I'll certainly use Bolt Electric again. In fact we're going to have him come back to install some recessed lighting fixtures in the near future.

Bolt Electric is an amazing company. I was hesitant to call them, because who wants to call electricians, but I was really surprised about how things went. The lady on the phone was super nice and helped me get an appointment within a short period of time, much sooner than I was expecting The gentlemen from the company came out to the house and was right on time. He helped install a fan in our kitchen and he did a wonderful just. He also was very friendly and took the time to give me advice about a number of other things that I wanted to know regarding electrician work around my house. If that wasn't enough we got a hand written letter a few days later thanking us for using their company, serious who does that these days. Believe the reviews these guys are wonderful. We have already used them again for another job and once again they got A++ score on the work. Thank you Bolt for standing out like you do.
