I just had the most amazing experience with Sal's Plumbing. I recently had two toilets that were completely clogged and I needed someone to help me out as soon as possible. That's when Sal's Plumbing came to my rescue. They were extremely quick in providing me with a fix for the issue. Within a matter of minutes, Bryan was at my doorstep ready to help us with everything.

Bryan was an absolute savior. He came in and got down to work immediately. He was extremely professional and courteous during his time at my house. He made sure that he left my house as clean as possible when he finished his work. I was also having some issues with water pressure in my sink and he was gracious enough to take a look at that too. It's little things like that which make Sal's Plumbing stand out from the rest.

The best part about Sal's Plumbing is their efficiency. They understand that plumbing issues can be a nightmare for homeowners, which is why they are so prompt and quick to respond. They provide a fantastic service experience, and I couldn't be happier. Bryan was knowledgeable and patient, and he provided us with incredibly useful tips to keep our toilets in top shape.

I would definitely recommend Sal's Plumbing to everyone I know. They provided me with quick and efficient services, and they were always available to answer any of my questions. Their prices are incredibly reasonable, and their service is nothing short of exceptional. Honest service....

My bathroom sink was clogged and I had tried all the home remedies (vinegar/drano) and had given up. I called to get someone to come and they arrived that afternoon. Joey came that day and seemed like an honest guy. He came and quickly diagnosed the issue and carefully explained how it was clogged and how to fix this in the future. I know this is potentially bad for revenue, but this was so honest and i will ask him for the future. They made a customer for life. He assessed the clog and also checked water pressure. He went above an beyond and my have been one of the best home service calls I have had in some time.

Sal's plumbing was easy to make an appointment with. They gave me a time frame to expect the plumber (3-5 pm). At 3:10, The plumber called me to tell me he was running a little bit behind and gave me an ETA, which was highly appreciated.

Pricing is upfront but the parts are marked up very high, maybe due to my location of Redondo Beach. However, they won't overcharge you for unnecessary things and are not pushy with their recommendations. I'd use them again!

Our Kitchen sink got stinky after a backup was cleaned out. I called Sal's since I've seen them working on my neighbors plumbing and heard good things. It was finally time to replace 80 year old plumbing. Sergio and Frank did a great job on replacing drainage pipes under the house.

Discovered I had a broken drain pipe under my kitchen sink. Called Sal's around 8:00pm on Saturday night thinking I would leave a message so I could try to get on the schedule for Sunday. They actually answered the phone and confirmed they would send someone the next day (they actually said they would send someone that same evening but I reasoned that since it was not a water problem but just a drain issue, I would just wait until the next day). Got a confirmation phone call the next morning, along with a time frame for the tech to arrive. Joey showed up on time, assessed the problem, fixed it, and I was back in business. Plus, no labor upcharge for a Sunday service call. Joey was really great, personable, and professional. BTW, I have used Sal's Plumbing twice before for pinhole leaks in the ceiling, and I have been happy all three times now.

Background: Sal's installed a brand new toilet for us 1 year, 3 months ago. We were happy and thought they were trustworthy. There shouldn't be major repairs needed for a brand new toilet but unfortunately it was out of warranty and the water keeps on running and tank doesn't fill up.

The situation: I called and made an appointment. They I confirmed on the phone that there wouldn't be a fee for a consult. They will tell us what needs to be done and how much it would cost after they come to our home to see the problem. This was the same thing the first time they came to install our toilets. They will tell us how much after they visit. No pressure tactics the first time.

When the plumber arrived to fix our toilet, he said the fill valve needed to be replaced. We're skeptical because it's a brand new toilet, but he says over time the minerals in the water can affect the function of the toilet. It's only been one year! How much mineral deposit could accumulate in one year?!?

But okay we'll do what needs to be done because we need functioning toilet. He estimates $350. When we said we were surprised at how much the repairs would cost especially for a brand new toilet, he tried to justify the cost by saying he needed to go to the store to buy the part so it would take longer than what he expected to complete the job. But he will call his boss to see if he can lower the price. He goes outside, makes a phone call and comes back to say it would cost $180. (Red flag: $350 to $180 is a big jump so their prices seem arbitrary. See invoice with the $350 crossed out.) When we said no that's still too much, he asks so you do nothing? He said if we do nothing he will need to charge $90 for the consult. When we said we were told on the phone consults were free, he said no we were told wrong information. So hesitantly, we were pressured into letting him do the job because it cost us half of the cost anyway just for him to do nothing.

When we said yes okay, he goes to his truck, grabs some things from his truck and comes back inside to start working. He did NOT need to go to the store to buy a part. Everything was a complete lie. But we needed our toilets fixed and let him do what needed to get done.

This guy was totally taking advantage of our situation. There were so many red flags and this was completely the opposite of the experience we had the first time. So I guess it depends on who they send out to do the job, but we're not risking this again. We have other plumbing jobs that need to get done and will stay far, far away from these guys.

Have used Sal's several times. Initially to replace the pipes in the front yard. At first there were some issues with the sink and toilet running a little bit slow but Martin took extra time, working into the evening to make sure things were running smoothly and that I would have water that night. He also put in a water pressures regulator valve afterwards. No issues. Martin was always polite, informative and responsive to questions and when any issues came. Follow through was great.

Recently, Dominic Q helped put in my air gap for my dishwasher. I kinda felt bad for him. The employee the day before said he needed to be the parts before he could install but no one told him so he had to make an extra trip. He was able to get it fixed pretty quickly and was friendly too.

I also use Mattucci plumbing sometimes. Although I think they are pretty good too and it varies which one quotes the higher price, they usually are busy or can't come during the time frame of my busy schedule. Appreciate the quickness of Sal's coming out each time!

Avoid them at all costs!! The front office sounds professional, but the owner and his supervisor are liars. Brought them in because of some slow-running drains. Three different plumbers came out--the first left because his roto-tool was broken. The second called and was competent--he called me and said he was going to try the main first, which I approved. But he left the job, too! A third guy came in and tried to unclog the drains, not the main (which I didn't approve of). He pulled the toilet without draining it or so much as putting down a towel, flooding the upstairs bathroom. It leaked through the ceiling into the downstairs bedroom and set off the smoke alarms!

My contactor came out to survey the damage and the Sal's supervisor came to meet with him. Sal's said he didn't detect any water damage the day before, but admitted their plumbers did a substandard job, and he didn't check the drywall thoroughly. But my contractor did, and I have a video of him using a hydrometer to prove the drywall damage. The supervisor claimed those tests can be faked!! And then he tried to squirm out of responsibility by saying the leak already existed! My contractor proved that was a lie, as there were no stains or mold (which set in after 5 days of a leak). I sent an estimate for the damage, and the supervisor told us to move forward with the repair, as his drywall guy was too busy. But later, he lied to his boss and said he never gave us approval. While Sal's gave me a discount for the admittedly substandard service call for unclogging the drains, they refused to take responsibility for the $1,850 it cost for the drywall repair. While their admin staff seems professional, their owner is belligerent, rude, and won't take responsibility for his company. Please--never let these jerks near your home!

I've already submitted a complaint claim to the CA State Contractors Board. They shouldn't be in business.

The entire experience was excellent. From appointment scheduling, communication and professionalism. I was able to get the water pressure in my master bathroom and lack of hot water in my guest bathroom issues all solved in an afternoon. Tony was an ACE! Will definitely do business again.

My plumber Wilson was so professional and competent even drove out to get part needed and was right back just made the usual plumbing nightmare into a positive experience and I feel confident my repair is solid and taken care of.

After trying to fix my own problem a few days I called Sal and they offered to be here within a few hours!
I have a few pets and they love Thomas, the plumber that usually comes to fix my problems. Gotta trust your pets instincts! He puts on boot covers and cleans up really well after his repair. He saw that my towel rack was broken and grabbed a few screws so I could fix it correctly. A+++ for Sal's plumbing and Thomas the plumber. Thank you!!

Tried to charge my landlord $2500 for a simple leak, exposure, and repair. Gilbert's Plumbing charged $350 for the same job, and were much more professional. Also, the plumber from sals was told not to start the work, but they did anyway, and charged landlord $500 for changing a leaky facet cartridge and putting a hole in the ceiling.

I can't say enough good things about Sal's plumbing. Had a small leak under the house that I needed fixing immediately. They had someone on site within an hour of me calling them. They explained on the phone that there was an upfront fee if the technician had to go under the house which I was more than happy to pay if the problem could get solved. So no hidden charges and complete honesty. 45 minutes later Enrique was done and water flowed once more. Friendly staff, fast response and a fast solution to the problem! One of the best businesses I've ever had the pleasure of working with. I'll be sure to call them in the future.

While trying to remove an old garden hose I broke the old copper pipe right off. The break was also on the main water line into the house! No good. It happened at 430 pm on a Sunday and Sals was at my house by 7. The pipe was fixed by 8. Thanks so much guys. Glad we didn't have to go a night without water.

The toilet wasn't flushing when we had renters in the house and we needed a plumber ASAP. I called a lot of different places but Sal's had someone answering the phones and responded quickly and sent someone out. That's when we met Thomas, on a Saturday night he snaked the pipe and cleared it out. He used a camera and saw roots growing into the main pipe. Our system backed up again within the month and we knew we had to change out the main line. Thomas and team came out and worked really hard replacing the main sewer line. They were reliable and informative and pleasant to work with. We were very happy with their service and will use them again in the future for any plumbing issues. Thomas always responds quickly and I'm very happy to have met him.

Shocked to be quoted $850 for an easily accessed pinpoint leak! Seemed excessive to me for a job that took less than 90 minutes. I will give them credit, they came down $50 after I appealed to the boss. Otherwise, arrived on time, took less than 90 minutes. But next time would ask for quotes in advance. And they could at least buy me dinner before screwing me like that!

I called Sal's early this afternoon and was so amazed at the response time. They were over to my house about an hour later. Thomas, the technician, was very respectful of my house - made sure he wore his shoe coverings when he went in and out of my house and cleaned up and was very tidy before he left. He unclogged my washer that had backed up and was very knowledgeable. He gave me some recommendations (I'm in a rental house) so said if problem continues, I would contact our landlord. Services rendered was very reasonable too. Will use them if I need future plumbing needs. Thank you Sal's Plumbing, I'm so glad I called you. Had originally made an appointment with another plumbing company but they couldn't come out for 4 days.

Sal's plumbing is the best! We got a slab leak. No need to say that it was a nightmare to sit without water and restroom for several days. As pipes were quite old, repiping was recommended. I quoted several companies. Sadly none of them had either a clear vision on how to do repiping, or how long it would take, or how much it would finally cost. Luckily, I found Sal's plumbing, and it turned out to be the best plumbing company we ever had. I was very impressed with their performance and professionalism. My first appreciation is for Raime who clearly explained the stages of repiping and what to expect. He was always on time and took great care keeping everything organized and clean though it was extremely dusty due to plenty of open ceiling and walls. The crew of five guys worked outstandingly well. I have plenty of appreciation for Raime and everyone who helped us to get water back! Thank you guys!!!

We had a semi clogged kitchen sink (it would drain slowly but clearly we needed professional help). Called Sal's on a recommendation from our handy man. Appointment was set for same day and the person running the phone / dispatch was reliable and professional.

A plumber came to the house. He arrived on time but from the moment he was there, it felt like he was rushing. He kept asking questions we didn't have answers to and then jumped to a conclusion after 3 mins that our garbage disposal was broken. He worked on the pipes for another 5 mins and then brought in his snake after we asked him to. His snake job was half assed and he only did one side of the sink pipes. He said we likely needed to do a high pressure wash (verbally in the $1500+ range) and he'd have to go under the house but maybe we didn't have to. We asked him to address the clogged sink and he then quoted us $650 (parts and labor) to replace the garbage disposal. This price is RIDICULOUS, especially after asking around. The Badger unit is about $125 so they were charging $500+ in labor for a job that takes 30-60 minutes.

The sink was now entirely clogged and not draining at all. He left the water and was pressing us for a decision to replace the garbage disposal. I paid him the $135 that was quoted for the snake job, despite the fact he actually made it worse. I just wanted him to go away, clearly not the right person for this job. This guy (while he was nice) was a total miss as a professional as far as I'm concerned. It's clear he is incentivized to upsell more expensive services, which created the behavior.

I had to call Sal's back (after calling to pay them for the service), explain the situation and request another plumber to actually drain the sink. They sent another guy out same day who fixed the issue within about 5 mins. He went in with his hands and pulled out the clog... something his colleague could have easily done if he was being even a bit thorough. The second plumber was confused about the quote and seemed like he didn't want to comment, we both just wanted to finish the sink job and move on with our days.

Overall, Sal's addressed the issue after $135 and two different visits. I can't recommend this business though given the treatment from their plumber who was behaving really strange, clearly had a sales agenda and left us high and dry in worse shape. No thank you. Your ludicrous paper quote you mailed me is in the recycle bin.

Amazing service by Sal's Plumbing!

I had a bathroom sink drainage issue, and the sewage was flowing back all over the place so it was a kind of emergency for me. I contacted Sals, one of their dispatchers listened to the issue I am having and understood that I am in urgent need. Afterward, their plumbers came to my home in less than 30 minutes. They did a preliminary root-cause inspection, and later full inspection to resolve the issue from the root. Then they walked me through the problem I have in my plumbing and gave me a different option with reasonable quotes. I was very happy with their approach to issue resolution; thus I immediately went with one of the options. Since they figured out the root cause it was then a piece of cake to fix the issue. Their plumbers were fully equipped and skilled to perform their job. Once they finished their work, they cleared the area and I checked it, of course, it was working very fine. In the end, I was very content with the way they handled the urgent situation. They were very respectful towards me and my property. As a small business owner and a woman, I would definitely recommend their service to anyone.

I called and specifically asked if they could find a leak in my house, they confirmed they have leak detection equipment and would bring it the next day. When the technician arrived he told me he didn't have the equipment, didn't know how to use it, and that nobody was available to come over for it so I should just call someone else.

I wasted a whole day without water in my house waiting for this. Don't trust them if they tell you they'll do leak detection for you.

Similar to other reviews... pros: quickest availability of most plumbers I contacted; cons: 50-100% more expensive than everyone else. They quoted me $400 for a shut off valve lever installation while literally every other plumber quoted me between $190-300; ended up paying $200 for it with another highly rated Yelp plumber and couldn't be happier. These guys are probably fine in an emergency where you don't mind paying high prices but if you can shop around, other places seem much cheaper.

I was super impressed with the person who I talked to on the phone and she was very clear about an estimate for how much it would be and told me that I was able to get somebody to come out within 45 minutes. The person that came to my door was very polite and very prompt. Came in he looked at it he gave me a price on the spot and had it all done quickly. In less time than it took for my landlords to think about my request and then tell me they would send someone out for me in two days, my bathroom drain was open and the water was flowing. Next time I won't waste time and I will just call Sal's first.

Good, solid emergency leak repair service. Called Sal's to fix our kitchen faucet that has low pressure. Jose misdiagnosed the issue and thought it was a pinched copper pipe and angle stop. He then ordered the part and had to come back the 2nd day. 2nd day comes, a different guy showed up and said he doesn't have the parts and will have to schedule a 3rd visit earlier in the morning. 3rd visit comes and replaced both parts and the issue wasn't fixed at all. They installed new parts that we didn't need and said I have to pay $375 even if there was a different problem. I asked them to install the faucet free since they didn't fix the issue and they said NO! They'll give me a discounted price of $250 to install the faucet that will fix the issue. I was like Do you pay your dentist if they pulled the wrong tooth? They had to call the office so I can speak to someone about this issue and it took 3 days for them to call me. I had to hire someone else to put in the faucet since it was urgent. I asked for a full refund and they hesitated to give it. I was like why should I pay you when you didn't fix what I called you for? And they were like, well we installed new parts for you and that's not free. I was like, who asked for that?!! Lol... this plumbers are a joke! It was a complete waste of time and energy dealing with this business. Avoid the SCAM they're pulling off and trying to make you pay for things you don't need.

Our water heater recently died and we no longer had hot water. We called Sal's plumbing and they arrived within 30 minutes of our call. They confirmed we needed a new water heater as the one we had was over 15 years old and I knew it was time. Sal's gave us a very competitive quote to replace the water heater and we went ahead and had them replace it.

Sal's plumber, Dominic was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. He did a great job installing the water heater and completed the job in a timely manner. We will be calling Sal's Plumbing for any of our future plumbing needs and highly recommend them.

Like some of the other reviews have mentioned, I am left with a bad taste in my mouth after receiving service from Sal's. I believe I was significantly overcharged for the work performed which was removing some damaged wood and replacing a flange. Then on the last day of work, the servicemen tried to leave and collect their check without cutting the screws and putting the white caps on the bottom of the toilet. I think they thought
I wouldnt notice and I feel taken advantage of.

Sal's Plumbing went above and beyond when installing a new earthquake valve along with associated piping. My earthquake valve has been on the fritz and eventually I couldn't manually fix it anymore. I called Sal's last week during the late morning and I explained I have 3 kids, live in grandma and guest coming over that evening. I explained I need my gas to operate well and fixed the same day. Few minutes later, I got an appointment scheduled for the same day. Once the plumbers arrived, they assessed the problem, then left to retrieve the parts, and when they returned they replaced and fixed the issue. The gas started flowing 15 minutes before my guess arrived. In the past I used them for many other issues and they took care of it. Thanks Sal.

Thomas saved me again! I called him in a panic because a handyman had come for a simple job and left me with a partially installed water filter, leaking sink, and stinky broken dishwasher in the middle of my kitchen. Thomas came within 2 hours of my call. He fixed the filter, repaired the leaks in the sink, drained the dishwasher, and removed it at no extra charge.

I'm giving these guys 5 stars for being such nice people. We had an emergency situation today.
They were really helpful and sent someone within the hour. The problem had actually resolved in that time. Rather than being short or difficult the plumber in person (Mike) and customer services on the phone were kind and said not to worry about it.

We have used this company before and they resolved a tricky drainage issue in a day. Martin who was the plumber that day was brilliant and very respectful.

I would highly recommend Sal plumbing; They were responsive unlike some I've encountered and their prices were not exorbitant like some; I've had two bad experiences with plumbers prior to using Sal's plumbing; They cleared the pipes from my kitchen all the way to the street and got the job done effectively and at an honest price; The two prior plumbers I used did not have the proper equipment and performed a really mediocre job and did not clear the clog. They tried to convince me I had pipe defects that were failing and needed a massive rip and replace project which would cost in the thousands. I was so glad Sal got the job done.

Excellent results. I had a slow draining kitchen sink. Called Roto Rooter first. They wanted over $300. They were here for more than four hours and made the problem worse. Called Sal's and they were within an hour. They cleared the clog in less than 45 minutes for a 1/3 of the money. Highly recommend.

Hired Sal's to install a tankless water heater where a tank water heater was previously. I bought the water heater at Home Depot so they had to mount it, connect the water lines, run a bigger gas line, and run a new vent to the outside. They charged $2800 for the install. Overall less than Home Depot quoted, but still a bit over average so i was hopeful for a 5 star job.

The venting and water lines (soldering) were installed professionally. The plumber did not have a condensation line so now I have to get one from Home Depot. He also did not weather seal gas line penetration through the exterior. And Sal's did not remove the old water heater. Overall they did a great job, but not quite what I was hoping for given I now have a few more items to take care of.

I had a toilet and tub backup that caused sewage water to leak all over a downstairs bathroom. Marvin from Sal's Plumbing diagnosed the problem quickly and cleaned out our main line. I was very happy with his work, professionalism, and communication about what he was doing to fix the problem. I was also very pleased with the customer service provided by Wendy in the office when I called in the early evening and explained that we had an emergency situation. She was able to get a plumber to come out within the hour and managed to schedule it so that we were not paying the after-hours rate. I thought the fees for the plumbing work were reasonable. Sals came out to find a gas leak, said they could not find the leak and recommended a whole gas line replacement for $5,000- and with cheap flimsy flex gas lines. I called another plumber who found the leak and fixed it for $600 total. Sals is a rip off and dangerous!

We started engaging Sal's Plumbing for our unit in Redondo this year based the great Yelp reviews. The first time we had their help was with a backed up dish washer in June. The plumber was courteous, punctual and did a great job.

We got them back about two weeks ago for two leaks: one under the kitchen sink and one in the laundry room. The technician showed up on time and provided his diagnosis - very communicative (pic 1). He replaced the part for the sink and fixed the leak in the kitchen. He also informed us that there didn't seem to be anything wrong in the laundry room area despite of the visible dampness on the floor (pic 2).

Today we had water in the same area (pic 3). The issue is worsening. I called the office and was able to get an appointment tomorrow after lunch though not with the same technician.

I have a very mixed feeling about this. I really wished that things were taken care of the first time we identified the issue but would like to give them the benefit of the doubt and see if it is indeed the same root cause. I will update the review once I hear back from them tomorrow.

I called Thursday about a leaking shutoff valve for our sprinkler system. They confirmed a time on Friday with a two hour window. Friday afternoon I got a call asking if they could come by an hour early as their previous job finished early - nice!

Mike showed up and tried several methods of straightforward repairs; tightening a nut, adding some tape, and concluded that the valve was in bad enough shape that a workaround wasn't going to be possible. He disassembled the valve, ran out to the hardware store, and found a matching replacement. He reinstalled it and we ran a few tests, and everything looks great now.

His attitude was really positive and I appreciated that he ran out to get the part right away, and only charged me the service charge for the whole visit.

The plumber showed up 2 hours late. He was unapologetic for being late. He was suppose to bring a shower part with him, but he didn't bring it. When I questioned him his response was I couldn't get it. He didn't bother to notify me in advance so I could arrange for the part. The plumber and the company office staff is very unreliable and unprofessional. He showed up to do the job but left without saying anything, because I complained to him for being late. Wanted to give a shout-out to Nick (and George?) who came over for a consultation, provided a reasonable quote. Once approved, got to work immediately, all while wearing a mask, shoe booties, and laying out a work path to protect our floors as they went in and out. When the plumber arrived he was professional and efficient. After he assessed the situation and explained what needed to be done he went to work cleaning the problem. The office staff did not correctly communicate one of the issues to the tech though so initially arrived with wrong equipment. Replaced a gas fireplace valve and delivery system. The company responded quickly on the initial house call. We talked about pricing before job commenced, but when it was finished I felt like I was being taken advantage of. Although the guy working on the job was generally a nice guy and seemed well versed on what he was doing, the work hours were inflated, including not deducting the full two hour lunch break, and I had to call him out on it. Then he said I'm being charged $200 for parts. Didn't produce itemized invoice so I have no way of verifying any of this. I just feel like it wasn't above board and I was left with a bad taste in my mouth.
And maybe worst of all, he didn't want to wear a mask. I asked him a few times to use his bandana he wore around his neck. He wasn't happy to do so, each time huffing and puffing about it and at times making a comment basically about how overblown it all was. Dude, just wear a mask when you're in my house with my whole family wearing masks around you. Unacceptable.

Called and schedule to unclog hair in the shower drain.

Plumbers showed up 25 mins earlier than expected. Strange but no big deal.

Two guys, the English speaker that talks and bills and his helper.

The guy immediately wants to up sell and say a part needs to be replaced. Asked if I'm the owner or not. What does that have to do with the clog? The part he was talking about was recently replaced a year ago.

He talks a lot to justify the price. I was quoted a lot lower but expected some increase, just not $120 over. And I still had to talk him down. He gives that usual speel on how hard it is (yes I agree but I think we all understand the tasks of a plumber and difficulty).

So essentially I got a Spanish speaking plumber and an English speaking salesman that day. And the guy was talking crap (in Spanish) to his helper while he was working. I know this can be viewed as teasing but he goes a little hard.

The guy wanted cash (to rip off his own office) but I didn't have enough to cover his markup. He even said they charge a credit card fee which was a lie. He just added a rounded up estimate in without calculating exact value. It's amazing how lazy he was.

If you're desperate, I can't say don't call them. I understand your needs. Just be ready to haggle down the price. And if you do go with them, don't be fooled they did you a favor. Don't leave a good review after being ripped off and having a manipulative person up sell you. Dude needs to take it easy on the caffeine too.

I had a drain blockage in my kitchen sink. The the phone quote from Sal's to unplug it was the standard $98. When the plumber arrived he immediately raised the charge to $125 to disassemble the drain trap and snake the pipe. I agreed but he then failed to run the snake in far enough, approximately 30 ft., to unblock the drain. All my exposed drain pipe is PVC including the main drain under the house. However, plumber told me that I had cast iron pipes in the walls (not PVC) that was probably corroded and needed to be replaced. (Per the plumber, cast iron is a fire prevention building code requirement.) I'm not sure that this is true and felt that Sal's wanted me to agree to work that was not necessary. I paid the original $98, the plummer left and I unplugged the blockage myself with a plunger. Client beware.

Y'all this company is awesome! Everyone that works for Sal's is a pleasure to work with and is incredibly kind. I called the company, and they offered same-day availability, although I didn't accept the offer. I ended up having them come out the following day. They gave me a two-hour window for which they could arrive. I received a call 30 minutes prior to their arrival. I worked with two different plumbers from the business. One of them was David, unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of the other man. I had an issue with my dryer duct collecting water. I called Sal's and they brought out a camera to take a look. They identified the issue quickly and then were on their way. Thankfully, it turns out I had an extreme amount of compacted lint in the duct, so there was no need to bust open the wall or make any costly repairs. The guys that work for this company are very professional and do not want to price gouge you. They generally care about their customers and are not in the business to try and push unnecessary costly repairs onto customers. I would HIGHLY recommend calling Sal's.

My toilet bowl started draining slower and slower with each flush. Not good to be without a toilet especially during a pandemic. Sal's Plumbing responded to my request for quote through Yelp within minutes. I called to have someone come to give an estimate/fix the problem. The time frame was between 10am-12pm which was much sooner than another company.

Pedro E. was at house within about 2 hours or so of my phone call. He explained what it would cost so snake the line and if that didn't work it might require removing the toilet and using a camera to find the problem.

He snaked the line and the toilet was working like it should. He even offered to go under the house to check the line to make sure it was connected properly, etc. He looked under the house and everything was okay.

Pedro was professional. He explained what he planned to do. He answered all my questions clearly. If I ever need a plumber again I will tell Sal's Plumbing to send Pedro.

Side note: he was wearing a face mask and latex gloves the whole time.

I called Sal's on a Saturday after the drain pipe cracked in my rental unit. They got a tech there in a couple hours and gave me a thorough assessment with pricing. While they were there, they helped my tenants install flex seal tape (we bought) to hold the pipe until they returned. After we agreed on the scope and price, they returned Monday with parts and did everything as promised. Great work at an honest price. I highly recommend this company! I had an emergency the other night with a copper pipe leak and they answered the phone call immediately. They came in less than 30 minutes and replaced the copper pipe with a better-quality pipe. This company is extremely professional. We had mysterious heavy leaking from the ceiling of one of our bedrooms with no indication where it was coming from as the leaking happened even when no faucets were running or toilets flushing. Raime was able to uncover the problem pretty quickly with a leaking copper pipe in the ceiling. He had suggested the leak detection equipment as an option but then explained it would probably save us money to simply open the ceiling to see where the leak was (as we would pay extra even if the equipment didn't find the leak). The price was very reasonable and he took great care with our furniture and flooring to not damage anything and then to neatly cover the hole in the ceiling afterwards. Further he went above and beyond to look into a few other plumbing issues we were having to then repair and replace or quote us for future reference. Very happy with this experience.

I've been dealing with a sewer main issue for years, and finally had it with the ongoing hassle and stress with roots at multiple places between the clay joints. After contacting a number of local companies, and receiving different advice and quotes all over the board, I finally decided to go with Thomas at Sal's. First, he was willing to have a conversation, to explain what was happening, and options. In my case, it was recommended that I do the trenchless replacement. Second, there was no pressure, as I was needed to think about it for a couple months due to the expense. Third, Thomas was communicative before and during, to let me know what was happening, finished the work as scheduled and kept things as tidy and back to normal as before. Go with what works for you and meets your specific needs. I am very satisfied with their work and our interactions. When you get Nick, you get a person who has tons of experience and who wants to get the job done right and done well. Drain pipe was leaking so I called Sal's Plumbing at 8am. They promised 10-12pm and the plumber showed up in that time frame.

He figured out the problem quickly, made some additional tests to verify that there wasn't anything else, fixed the problem quickly and even cleaned up afterwards.

Wow! Luis and Jorge were great!

We discovered a water leak in the foundation on Friday, and needed help fast. Called Sal's Plumbing and they sent Luis and Jorge. They listened to the problem, inspected the location and informed us regarding our options. They found the leak in the foundation, gave us options on how to repair it and returned on Saturday to fix it. They capped the leaking water line, re-routed the hot water, fixed a broken valve and had our house's water running again by 5 pm on Saturday night.

Luis and Jorge wore masks the whole time, put down heavy duty drop cloths to protect our new floors, cleaned the workspace, dumped their trash and kept us in the loop the whole time. I checked in on them periodically, and they always stopped what they were doing to fill me in. Before they finished, a Sal's supervisor even came by to inspect their work.

Sal's Plumbing, and Luis and Jorge in particular, were highly professional, while being customer and solution oriented.

Sal's Plumbing and Luis are in my cell phone contacts now. I was really impressed and expect to use them again for all my plumbing needs!

Nick was called in to look at my galvanized natural gas pipe rotting from 20 years of constant dog pee. He removed 5 of concrete and dug down another 5 inches to expose the 90 degree pipe elbow. Nick and his team then used a pipe wrench to remove the rotted pipe and replaced with a new pipe and everything turned out great. Quoted 2x+ the bid of our usual plumber (who was booked that week). Was going to do work not up to code - ie pipe needed to be in ground lower than a foot and was at 6 inches. Sal's is great. It's been a fun day when I woke up to find an old sediment filter had blown off the side of my house to unleash a river down my driveway to the street. Call Sal's first to get me in the queue...Given I had to shut off water, I called around to a few places.

Other company came first and quoted me a VERY large number after commenting that my backyard was bigger than he thought. A couple calls later and Luis from Sal's was here (despite me maybe canceling them). Luis took one look and quoted me 2 prices:

1 very low for a temporary fix if I just wanted to put back in a sediment filter.
1 quote for 1/2 the price (maybe even lower) of the other guy to permanently replace the ineffective filter with permanent solution.

I took option 2, and he was done in under and hour.

Can't rave enough about how professional Luis was and how he advised me on ways to not waste money. Additionally, the work is very clean and well done.

Fantastic job all around with Luis and even the schedulers! I'll be calling them up to replace my water heater when it kicks the bucket...

Crooks! Crooks! Crooks! BEWARE! STAY AWAY!

Got them out today to unclog a shower, guys by the name of Luis and Jesus, they gave me an $8,000 quote to re-pipe all our plumbing under the house. I said to Luis to just unclog the drain. He takes the snake into the shower, said he ran it for 10 feet and everything is good. Shower was a mess so I asked him to use the hand shower to wash it off. AND guess what??? It was and is still clogged!!!! I said I will call the office to see what is going on with all their pricing and changes and what we need to do. While I was on hold for about 5 minutes with the office, the guys got back in their van and just left!!!

I am going to tell everyone I know and hopefully you will too.

Our garbage disposal clogged, which in turn lead to both our kitchen sinks filling with water, with water leaking under the sink and coming through the pressure valve. After going back and forth in email with another firm (via YELP), I called Sal's. The receptionist was very understanding, and offered a technician within 3.5 - 5.5 hours. An hour later I received a call that one was available 2 hours sooner. Michael arrived on time, was courteous, quickly assessed the problem and solved it quickly. We then asked him to take a look at the leak under the sink, fortunately he had the right part (as the existing one was very old and plastic - from before our time) and worked diligently to fix it. There was no upselling, and he was very patient in explaining to me the condition of the pipes (over 50 years old) and further suggested that, because of the age and condition, that we no longer use the garbage disposal. I would agree with that as it's not the first time it has clogged!

Worst service ever. If I could give a negative rating, I would. Who doesn't clean up after a service?!???!
They came to clean out a leaking sewer line for a 4 unit apartment building and did not clean up afterwards. Just left raw feces in a pile on our back deck. Not only was the smell toxic but the massive colony of fruit flies is sickening. There are children living in this complex! The lack of pride in their work as well as the complete disregard for public safety is completely appalling and unacceptable. Our landlord had to call a second company to re-do what Sal's Plumbing clearly did not do care to correct. Their shoddy and incomplete workbacked up again 2 days later. Seriously ready to report them to the better business bureau. Do not use them!!

I called at 1pm and was able to get someone out between the hours of 2-4pm same day for a non emergency. Thomas arrived at 3 pm. He quickly assessed a couple really old toilets and said they were not worth trying to fix. We could get a new toilet for less! One was leaking due to age and the other already had the guts replaced and was still having issues. Who knew I could get a decent toilet for $98?! (Plus labor).

Thomas snaked my shower drain that was clogged. Then we picked out a new toilet on Home Depot's site. He went and picked them up, lugged them up to the third floor and disposed of the other toilets. Worth every penny and he was quick and efficient. Happy customer. Thank you!

Charged me almost $300 for a leak detection. When I had another plumber came next day, found the leak was at the other side of where Sal's plumbing suggested to cut wall open. Sal's leak detection wasn't that accurate. Their reroute quote was twice as much as the other plumber I ended up hiring and fixed the problem. Also, with such high quote, Sal's plumbing say they won't patch the walls after cutting open. The other plumber patched all the cutted open wall before they leave.

Had a clogged shower drain and reached out to a handful of companies. They came back with the lowest quote and had same day availability. I am glad I chose them. Dimas was nice and professional. He assessed the full situation (pipes, connections, etc) before he started work. Once he was able to pinpoint the location of the clog, he went at it. After about 10 minutes of snaking the line, he got the drain clear and water to flow. Recommended some re-piping - apparently build-up and galvanizing has shortened the diameter of the drain. Had a couple of stubborn antiquated angle stops on my upstairs sink that needed replacing. I found them on yelp around 4 this afternoon and they were at my place before 5:30. Thomas and his coworker were clean in appearance, and they put shoe covers on, and both were masked. Courteous, friendly, and professional. They came in, assessed the job, went back to the van for tools and knocked out the job in no time! It was also nice to find a crew that can carry on a light conversation and work at the same time. During a pandemic and on very short notice, a technician arrived at my apartment with a mask, gloves, foot covers and an electric snake. He arrived promptly (within an hour after my call) and fixed my shower in minutes. Really great service! Also inspected our piping to ensure no damage! Definitely would recommend especially if time is of the essence!

Flash-forward to the future where I had a pipe leak in the roof of my kitchen. Sal's came quickly, did minimal drywall cutting, and quickly replaced the leaking pipe and T-joint with minimal hassle. They also were respectful and responsible with booties and masks always worn. As before, I'll call them again when the next leak happens - because it will!

Called Sal's to help with a leaking diverter in my parents' shower/tub. David arrived right on time and were very friendly, courteous, and got the job done quickly and without issue.

As a matter of fact, my mom was vacuuming the patio, and David called me first to meet him outside instead of just entering the patio and scaring my mom who had no idea he was waiting outside. Its the little things like that put you over the top when the job is otherwise well done.

Unfortunately, the back office or management has no concept of customer service or how to be flexible. I paid a lot of money for a prior service and would have continued using them for other issues but for their refusal to honor a warranty which just expired because I discovered the same issue too late. Would prefer not to do business with companies like this.

Kevin and Francisco showed up, worked hard. Were very friendly, and professional. They helped take care of our badly stopped drain and took the time and care to clean everything. My sewer clogged on Sunday at 2:30pm. I called another company and they said they could give me a price until they looked at. I then called Sal's, they gave me a reasonable quote and we're out at the house earlier than the estimated time. Gino was great and efficient. Did the work with no hassle. Our toilet stopped flushing so we called Sal's plumbing and Thomas came over. First Thomas was very courteous and friendly. He put shoe booties on even without us asking. He tested the water and saw that there wasn't really anything wrong (which made me feel very stupid). He didn't judge me and told me that it's okay and not to worry about a fee. That is very honest (unlike a lot of scrupulous plumbers that will charge you even though they didn't do a single thing). It's hard to find an honest plumber and we found one with Sal's

The owner kindly contacted myself and my mother immediately after hearing of this. He gave us a full refund for the visit and apologized for the misunderstanding. He also asked permission to personally call my mother to hear exactly what happened between her and the plumber, and explain why they pushed for the full unit replacement. I have adjusted the review and rating because I appreciate how quickly the issue was handled and how honest and professional the owner was with my mother.

The reason I have adjusted Sal's a 4star instead of 5 is because I appreciate the legitimate concern for the customer from the owner, but the plumber never left his name with my mother.

The pilot light on our water heater in our house went out suddenly on January 20, 2018 (Saturday morning). My mother called every plumber in the area and most could not come out until Monday. Sal's was nice enough to send a guy over around 5pm for a $98 fee. The fee is reasonable for a Saturday visit and short notice, but that's not the reason they get 1 star.

The plumber arrives and takes a look at the heater. He tells my mother that the thermocouple is broken and it is a special part that cannot be purchased in stores. He then tells my mother that if we wanted hot water today we needed to replace the entire unit and it would cost $1800. My brother and I stopped her on the spot, went to google, and found this special part on Home Depot's website for $12.

So the plumber leaves and we shower with cold water for a day. In the morning, my brother goes to Home Depot, buys the $12 part, watches some youtube videos, and fixes the thermocouple himself. Granted, my brother is an Engineer, so he knows his way around a tool box and simple electrical fixes. The pilot light stays on and the heater works again. A different plumber from another company was already coming to our house on Monday January 22, 2018 to fix a draining issue in our washing machine. He took a quick look at the repair my brother performed on the heater and praised him for being both smart and lucky.

Luis gets 5 stars.

I called three plunbing outfits to get quotes on the removal of a old bathtub drain.
The drain was removed and replaced two years ago, so I was knowledgeable on how the job should be done.

I asked each plumber if they had the know how to remove the drain?
Each said yes.

Well after the first two saw the job they told me it could not be done without removing and replacing all the bathtub plumbing.

When I talked to Luis, he told me exactly what had to be done, came out and did it.

Moral of story, is to know what has to be done, how it has to be done, and don't waist time.
Call Sal's and ask for Luis.

When my washing machine was running, it made a very loud vibration sound in the pipes. I called Sal's plumbing and they sent over a plumber quickly. Thomas diagnosed the issue and fixed it within a few hours. Now my laundry doesn't rattle the whole house. He had to cut into the drywall, but he carefully did it to expose just what he needed to fix things.

I will use Sal's plumbing for all of my future plumbing needs!

I was traveling for 10 days and returned home to a clogged drain. Sal's responded quickly to my call for help and arrived within the 2 hour window they quoted. Leo got right to work assessing the problem and using the snake. However, the clog was very stubborn and after crawling under the house and trying the snake again they told me it was a serious problem they couldn't resolve without cutting into the main sewer line and replacing an old section of pipe. Yikes. Called another plumber and it turned out to be just a stubborn clog.

They appear to be a reputable plumbing service and their price for unclogging the drain was reasonable. I'm giving them 3 stars because the owner reached out to me directly and promised to refund the full amount of the service call. I think that shows a good faith effort.

We came home to a clogged pipe and leaking. Dave came out that night to check it and make sure it was stable to wait until the morning to fix. He came back, on time, and fixed the clog. While here, he completed other plumbing tasks I needed done. He even came back the next day to finish the work. Educated me on various things I needed to watch for, etc. would use again.

They charged my daughter, who lives in Hermosa Beach, $3000 for way less than two days work. She should've gotten more bids, but is crazy busy with an escrow to move out of HB and preparing her HB place for sale and wangling a two year old. She'd just replaced the wood and baseboards in the affected bathroom, and Sal's guys got dirty black boot marks all over the brand new baseboards, which wouldn't come off with Magic Erase sponges, so now she has to re-paint the baseboards. And as she said in her review, they attempted to de-camp with their payment by leaving the big screws that bolt the toilet to the floor un -trimmed (they were sticking 4-5 inches up from the base of the toilet!!!) and without putting on the white caps that cover the screws. As I was there at the time, I said they needed to finish this part of the job, before they'd get the check. Very shoddy. She's notified her real estate agent not to recommend Sal's anymore.

On 2/23 both my toilets were backing up - one we could not use and the other needed to be plunged when flushing. Before calling Sal's, I talked to two plumbers between 2/23 and 2/27 who said they were busy and would send someone then didn't. I called Sal's 3/1 at 10:25 am and by 4:30 pm Thomas and Jose were accessing my problem. Within an hour the unusable toilet was snaked and working perfectly. The other 59 year old toilet needed to be replaced and by 3/2 Thomas and Jose delivered and installed a new water efficient toilet that looked great. I have never had plumbers do such good work and charge such a reasonable price. In the future, I will always call Sal's and I will always ask for Thomas and Jose. ~ Cathy M.

We called at 4:30pm on a Sunday and the company answered (not a contracted answering service) and they sent someone by 5:30. He noticed water coming up the clean-out drain outside and went to work. He was very patient to explain the problem to us with the video feed from the camera in the pipes - when our hoa president came home, he went though the explanation again with the camera for him. He was very nice to work with and very reasonably priced for a weekend emergency.

Called them at 8pm, and they answered my call! Our bathtub was filling with gross dirty water from our sink and shower, and they came the next morning, first thing! Adulting is rough especially when you are homeowner. Our 20 year old kitchen drain stopped working yesterday morning. Luis came like literally 30 minutes after we called early in the morning. Diagnosis was rough because the blockage was so severe. We ended up having to replace the entire drain.
Our kitchen is on the second floor. We had to rip out drywall in the downstairs bathroom and replace the pipes. We were shocked by the condition our pipes were in and knew we had made the right decision by deciding to replace it all.
Overall it's been rough two days. But I am sure it would have been harder if it wasn't for Luis and his amazing team. Luis is meticulous, professional, and a man of his words. He made sure both my husband and I were comfortable going through this process. He also made sure that after his work was done, all the work areas were left clean, like he promised. I am glad we were able to take care of this whole pipe ordeal in two days thanks to the quick action and recommendations.

Well, now we can add dishonest to the list of qualities displayed. Sal's replied with total lies claiming I'd posted a FAKE review. This IS NOT A FAKE REVIEW. AMAZING THAT THE SAL'S EMPLOYEE WOULD LIE AND NOT ATTEMPT TO ADDRESS THE ISSUES.This is NOT an attempt to slander them, they just did a POOR job. They had to redo the entire plumbing on the heater on day 2. And YES, both techs that showed up smoked and left butts all over the lawn. Here's some pics for you Sal's. I wish they'd shown up on time, done a good job the first time, and were not litter bugs.... but they that's what happened. Shall I post the invoice and canceled check ? STILL HACKS and that's the truth. Anyone wishing to contact me or see before and after pics is more than welcome. Shame on you Sal's for being dishonest to the end !

The toilet backed up into the bathtub. Of course, this happened on a Saturday evening. I called Sal's and a very nice woman answered on the second ring. I explained my situation and she gave me some options of when to have someone come out. Since i have an extra bathroom, I asked for the Sunday 9-11am option. At 8:50am Gino called and said he was on his way. PROMPT! He wore shoe covers when he entered the house and listened to everything i said. Gino snaked through the shower and removed the clog. No mess left behind! Less than 40 min and he was done. This is the A team!Thank you! Prompt. Efficient. Considerate. Kind. I've already told my story to friends and given out their name to those in the area. No one wants to have to call for emergency plumber however, I am thankful to know that a good one is available 24/7.

Just had a visit from Sal's plumbing. We had a leak in our kitchen sink. Called Sal's, said they would be there between 4:30 and 6:00. Thomas was there at 4:30 I was late. I was also dealing with my fussy six month old who decided he was starving at that very moment. Thomas with great. I called Sal's Plumbing to have them come out and check my backed up sewer line because I was having raw sewer leakage outside in my back yard. YUCK! They came right over, driving a professional work truck, bringing all the heavy equipment needed to diagnose the problem. I paid to have the plumbing snaked and to have a camera placed down the pipe to pin point the problem... Plumber David gave me a detailed reporting of what the plumbing problem was so I could pass the information on to my plumber... I requested an estimate from him also, just in case I wanted Sal's Plumbing to replace the broken sewer pipe. I was very satisfied with their professionalism and extent of work that was completed for a very reasonable price...

After I had the raw sewage cleaned up, I decided to have Sal's come back out and replace the sewer pipe. Again, they were very professional and the job included breaking up and removal of concrete, jack hammers, replacing pipes and concrete fill in. Even when some unexpected issues/ miscommunications came up during this job, which ran through the weekend, Sal's Plumbing worked diligently with me and I am very happy with the way everything turned out! I will call Sal's Plumbing the next time I am in need of any plumbing work done! THANK YOU JOE AND DAVID!!!!

Had a clogged kitchen sink so called Sal's and they had someone out in less than two hours to help. He was professional and polite, wearing a mask, gloves, and shoe coverings before entering our home. The clog was cleared about an hour later, but not before giving us some great advice on preventative maintenance for our drains and pipes. I had a plumbing issue come up at 5pm on a Monday evening which could not wait until the morning, so i called Sal's Plumbing - the first name I came to in an online search. The person who answered my call (on 2nd ring) was extremely helpful and assured me that someone would be there between 5 and 7pm that night. Within 45 minutes, their technician was at my door. He was in a clean uniform, face mask, and even wore protective coverings over his shoes before walking inside. Within 30 minutes, he efficiently resolved the clog and did not leave until he tested the plumbing several times to make sure the problem was completely resolved. The technician was polite, friendly, and professional. I could not have been happier. Sal's is my #1 Go-To service provider for all plumbing issues from now on. Thank you!!

So here we are in the middle of a super rainy season and water is literally pouring through the ceiling in the guest bedroom (while we had a guest of course). I called two plumbers and left messages so I called a third, Sal's Plumbing. The polite lady on the other end of the phone listened to my deal and said she could get someone here between 3-5pm but would try to get them here sooner. Sure enough Thomas showed up around 2:30pm and went up to the roof. We had a clogged roof drain so there was like 2 of water sitting on flat balcony floor, hence the water coming through the ceiling. He snaked from the drain I showed him (of course I ended up showing him the wrong place) and then he snaked from the roof. He got his bigger line and auger tip and started pulling up roots. While he was snaking I was downstairs and could hear that the snake was going out a different area. Just then he called down and said it must drain from a different location. After looking around in the backyard he uncovered the actual drainpipe that was buried under maybe 6 of dirt. He cleared it, dug it out a bit so it could drain and clog was clear. I cannot recommend Thomas and Sal's Plumbing any more strongly. He stayed until the job was done. On top of that, it was completely affordable and I am a cheap ass cheapskate!! Call Sal's, you won't be disappointed!!

when my normal plumber couldn't get there for an emergency water heater explosion, I called them immediately based on great Yelp reviews. The receptionist was friendly and synthetic. Quick and efficient. They came right over, sorted out the problem and we're absolutely wonderful. Reliable, friendly, timely, and efficient. great plumbers. Call them for an emergency. Probably one of the worse service experience with David the plumber. He did not seem confident in his work. He was unable to remove the elbow and wanted to charge us $250 to remove and replace the elbow along with the trap.

We called another company, who was able to easily remove the elbow, snake the kitchen sink and completed the service in less than 15 minutes for only $125.

Highly recommend working with this company! I called for a plumbing blockage at 7. Thomas was here by 745. Talk about service! Thomas was phenomenal. Had the problem fixed in under 30 minutes and took the time to show us the blockage via video camera within the pipes. I wouldn't use another company other than them going forward. Call them !

Sals sent someone out here quickly and fixed the issue but the customer service was lackluster. Our tech was rude, sarcastic, and had a bad attitude. When I offered to clear our items under the sink for him, he made a sarcastic comment and throughout the fix he was lecturing us on our maintenance. He fixed the issue at hand but made us feel as if we wouldn't be protected for the 30 day warranty window if it was our fault. I won't be contacting sal's again since they did not make us feel like they wanted to be here to help.

I am a property manager and I have done hundreds if not thousands of plumbing calls... every plumbing ad in the South Bay says they are open 24/7... but what you find is that they do not answer, they don't call back and they often tell you they can fix it the next day. Sal's on the other hand is local, they answer their phone immediately... no recordings, menus, voice mails... a real guy named Joe sends out a real plumber promptly and they take care of business. My tenants have said good things about the plumbers who work late hours for Sal's.. I will use them again for sure.

Sal's plumbing - said they'd be here between 7:30-9:30 PM. I asked they call in advance because I have little ones. Shows up at 9:28. No call. I told them to bring a long snake that goes over 25 feet. Our friend is a plumber and tried to fix earlier and gave us the heads up fo what we need. Long story short guy tries to charge me $350 for 20 minutes of work after the man on the phone said $250 if it's pretty cut and dry. When the bill was handed to me for $350 I asked him if they charge $700-$800 per hour since he's been here 20 minutes? He looked st me like I was crazy and said it's the after hour prices. I explained to him I discussed that prior to having him come out and let's call the office. We called and I asked what is your hourly rate after hours? We don't charge by the hour but by the job. If you're already done it should be more than $250
Guy who came out basically asked for the phone, 2 second conversation, bill $250.

Sal's - I would recommend. I'm never a fan of the service oriented back and forth. Just a cheesy way to conduct a business.

This is a warning for potential customers of this business who are searching by Yelp. I have a leak. Asked for someone to come out and see what is involved and write an estimate. Water filter under house is leaking. They charge $98 to go under the house! Not $95 or $100. Strange.... If they can see the problem without going under it is free!? Doesn't make much sense but my leak is visible. Guy got there. Saw the leak without going under the house. Didn't say anything and starts crawling under. I asked him if I would be billed for it. They he replies, yes. To go five feet! No thanks. Straightforward job but they lost it. Sal's has good reviews but I know what some plumbers are like. Who charges for an estimate? This is a classic Gotcha move.

Sals did a FANTASTIC job, honestly. Rachael answered the phone, got back to me in 5 min having dispatched Anthony to our home adap. 30 min later Anthony showed up, walked in ready to take care of biz, which he promptly did in only 20 min! Snaked, cleared, and triple tested our sink drains for a nice vortex of outgoing water. Can't speak to their actual servicing of an issue, but would recommend you get additional estimates/inspections. When we called Sal's for an estimate and to look at an issue in our home, the technician did not thoroughly investigate our issue and also charged us for an inspection - not something we were told when we made the appointment. Luckily we received 3 additional estimates (none of which we were charged for) that thoroughly diagnosed the issue and came in thousands of dollars lower than the quote obtained by Sal's. Seems many in the area are happy with the Sal's but for us we have found other plumbing companies we trust more.

I would highly recommend this company for any and all of your plumbing needs... We had a pretty big job that needed to be completed to help get us ready for our kitchen remodel, this process included moving our water heater from one side of the house to another, moving our washer and dryer from the kitchen to another location in the house and running water lines for our new refrigerator. They had to dig a massive trench to support the new gas lines as well as the sewer lines, needless to say it was a pretty extensive job, as the job progressed multiple obstacles arose and yet their team stayed dedicated to the process and worked day and night to get the job completed. I've never met a better team then Marvin and Thomas, you would never know our backyard was dug up, their attention to detail is also much appreciated.

Price was competitive with other offers received and turn around time for getting the project started/wrapped up was very quick...... In every aspect of choosing a plumber I would highly recommend Sal's plumbing.

It's been 2 years since we needed any plumbing done in our house (thankfully), and Sal's was just as good as I remembered. Incredibly prompt response when calling to request an appointment. But the best part? YOU choose the 2 hour window that works for you. I have wasted so many days for the cable company and other home repairs that give you a 5 or 7 hour window and expect you to clear your whole day.

Gino is the plumber who helped us as he did a few years ago and he was just as professional, timely and kind. We are particular about wearing shoes in the house and Gino was putting on his boot covers before I even had the chance to say anything. Pretty impressive memory from 2 years ago. He was in and out in under an hour with time left over to chat with my young children.

If you need ANY plumbing work done on your house, Sal's should be the FIRST and ONLY place you call.

I contacted Sal's Plumbing and had scheduled an appointment for the following day. Shortly after scheduling my appointment, Jeff, a representative from the company called and asked if he could send somebody over that day. Definitely a benefit for me, as my sewer trap was clogged.

A representative from the company, Gino, came over and greeted me with a warm handshake and thank you for choosing Sal's Plumbing. He looked over the trap and advised me of the cost to perform the job. I give Gino a lot of credit, a sewer trap does not smell like roses and the looks of it...

Gino ran his plumbing snake through the trap and instantly cleared it out. He then proceeded to run it a couple more times to ensure it was all cleared out. He said tree roots were penetrating the sewer pipe, but the snake removed most of it.

Sal's Plumbing is definitely a company you should add to your contact list, with a request for Gino to come out.

I originally called them for the kitchen sink clog repair on 1/17/18, and I had a great experience with Thomas. He was very polite and explained what and why he had to do on each process, and described what was the problem.

I asked Thomas come back for another repair for the reoccurring problem today( note: it was nothing to do with his previous repair. It was more related to the construction issue). He investigated the problem and again very generously explained to me what would be the problem, and took care of it promptly, answered all my questions and concerns. We had an issue with roots growing into our pipes and causing sewage blockage. Arturo and Thomas arrived on time, were very professional and careful and used a video camera to identify the problem and show us what was going on. Arturo let us know what our options were, and got to work right away to fix the issue. In no time, they had located the pipe and dug a 4 foot deep hole in my front yard (and were careful to save my large salvia plant as well). I was very impressed with how hard these guys worked to get the job done in one day, and they even replanted my flowers and cleaned up the dirt afterwards. My water heater stopped working about 2 weeks ago.
Called Sal's to request a repair, and estimate. Was
quoted $45 for them to come out and diagnose the
heater. Next day they sent out a fellow named Dimas
who inspected it, and could not determine the problem.
After researching the problem online, I spent some time
explaining to him that the pilot and burner would not stay
lit, due to a seal which was obviously damaged, and
would need to be replaced. He decided to just re-light
the heater, then hands me a bill for $220 to relight the
heater and for about 30 minutes of his time to switch
a couple of water lines, neither of which was itemized,
just a lump sum, which I reluctantly paid. Gas Company
could have done same thing with no charges.

Following day heater is out again, called them back out,
this time Dimas decides it was the thermocouple (wrong)
and tells me to order the part as he was unable to find
the part no. and he would then come back out and
charge me some unknown amount again to install it.

I contacted Rheem the mfr. ordered the part, and installed
it myself on Christmas day, after 7 days without hot water
Thanks Guys !

Bottom line, Sal's plumbing appears to be a reputable
company, but if you need to have your water heater
repaired, request someone else, as this guy was clueless,
acted confused and surly when I had to explain his job
to him, didn't even know that water heaters need to be
flushed once in a while, and said it was unnecessary.
Also, try to obtain a written estimate first before authorizing
any work ( good luck there ! ). Not a happy customer here.

UPDATE TO REVIEW
A few hours after posting my review with a 1 star rating I
received an E-mail from Joe G the owner who apologized
for their service, and my inconvenience, and offered to
refund me the full amount of the bill to make it right.
Seemed like the honest thing to do, so I am adjusting my
review and giving a 4 star rating, pending receipt of the
promised refund. As mentioned in my review, I will agree
with most others that in general Sal's is a good plumber
and will likely use them again if plumbing problems arise.
PS
Will just offer this advice: From my experience and hearing
from others, seems like WATER HEATER repairs can be
tricky and most plumbers do not want to deal with them,
will tell you to order the parts and will then install them,
probably hoping you'll just go away. In general, don't have
high expectations about getting a heater repaired, and
you will likely have to do some shopping around for the
parts etc. which may be worth the efforts, rather than
buying a new heater for much bigger bucks.

Final Update
I did receive the promised check for a full refund from
Joe G the owner of Sal's and have adjusted it to 4 stars.
I decided to rate them 5 stars for their honest response
and concern for their reputation, ( rare these days ) but
rated only 3 stars for my inconvenience thus the 4 stars.

My kitchen sink was backing up into the bathtub, so I called Sal's based upon the reviews on Yelp around 3:30 on a weekday. The woman that answered was very pleasant and quick to get the right information. They said that they said that they could send someone out the next day between 11-2.

They called at 10:30 the next day to see if they could come early which I was really glad to hear since the blockage had gotten really gross and bad! Bryan came and was quick to diagnose the issue and where to try snaking it. He told me the costs upfront which seemed reasonable, and he was quick at snaking out the issue (needed to use a machine to do the job).

Things seemed to be flowing much better, and he gave me tips on how to keep things draining properly since the house hadn't been used much. They took both credit card and check as payment.

We had a slow drain turn into a stopped drain and after having a friend plumber snake the drain for an hour to no avail, it was clear we had a grease problem. I had Luis from Sal's come out for the completely plugged up pipe from the kitchen. He offered to hydrojet it out, but noted that it was improperly installed. I inspected and agreed. We had all of the original drain pipes in the house replaced with plastic to the main, as the originals were over 100 years old. This included removing and replacing about two square feet of concrete walkway next to the house, and opening up the foundation penetration for the drains. I am very happy with the work, even though it kind of stings to spend money on something you shouldn't notice. Luis is knowledgeable, hard working, and efficient.

Sal's came out in about an hour late on a Friday and cleared my sewer drain just fine. I appreciated the quick service but what I was concerned about was when the technician told me that if I posted a yelp review, I would get a $20 discount, so the price would be $165 instead of $185 to clear my sewer. I like to give business to local, family owned businesses like Sal's is advertised but I may have been better off with one of the chains, like Mike Diamond and wouldn't have been asked to get a better price if I gave them a yelp review. Very happy with the service we got from Thomas. He arrived within the scheduled timeframe to unclog our kitchen sink drain, and was very pleasant and professional. I called Sal's Plumbing to come out and fix a bathtub where the hot water wasn't working and to look at a shower that was dripping. Nice enough guy, but over charged me at every possible turn. Didn't fix the tub because he couldn't figure it out, but replaced the shower valves and proceeded to break the old fixtures so they needed to be replaced. After breaking the old fixtures I was pretty much stuck, so I had to give him permission to replace the set up. Should have cost maybe $250 at the very most for everything. NOPE! It was $583. Gouge the customer when you have him over a barrel.

Want to shout out to MIKE who went above and beyond responding to a flowing, spewing pressure leak in less than 60 minutes from the time we called -- providing courteous and polite updates on timing as he progressed from his previous call. Then....CHARGED US NOTHING as he found a way to salvage the old system without replacement parts or direct labor. Over 35+ years we have tried many plumbers but none matched this highest standard. Wow! I had a sudden Saturday water heater failure and called Sal's because that was the name of the former owner had written on the appliance. I'm so glad I did. I called a few companies in the area for my kitchen faucet replacement, but they couldn't make it out for a few days. The problem is my husband already started removing the original faucet so we needed a guy to come today. Sal's Plumbing to the rescue! I called around 10 am, they sent Thomas at 3 pm. Thomas was wonderful, personable and friendly, great customer service. He wore booties in the house and made sure to explain everything along the way. He noticed right away that our hoses were different sizes and needed an adaptor. He went out and obtained the right pieces so he could finish the job. From start to finish including time to get the extra parts, it took less than 2 hrs. He also noticed that we had a small leak under our sink from our angle stops, he made sure to point them out and recommend a different plumber from his company to do the job. He wanted to make sure we got it done right instead of trying to do it all himself, which I thought was wonderfully honest. Thanks, Sal's Plumbing! Will be calling them tomorrow to schedule the rest of our plumbing needs!

We had a rain shower head that had been leaking for a few weeks now. We had one plumber come over to evaluate the problem but unfortunately he couldn't fix it because the specialty Rohl shower cartridge that needed to be replaced is not a part they stock on their trucks. I had to go through great lengths to find the right part. Luckily, the plumber told me were to shop. Once I got the part form Ferguson, I called Sal's plumbing back and they sent Dimas to fix the shower. After about an hour of trying to remove the old cartridge, he decided he was going to need a special tool to remove it. Unfortunately, they don't stock that on their trucks. Frustrated that he couldn't fix it that day when I already had someone come over to look at it a couple weeks previously, he offered to come back first thing the next morning with the right tool. He did! He came with the proper tool and had the shower fixed within the hour! Thanks Dimas! He was extremely kind and kept his workspace very clean! Thank you!!

Called them a few weeks ago because I was having water pressure issues in my home. They came out, assessed the situation and recommended I change out the buried part in my front yard. When i had a issue with my tub being backed up and not draining water, my feet had their own personal swimming pool for days and days. Finally i was tired of it and found Sal's here on yelp. Plumber was out on the same day and gave me a courtesy call before showing up. Joe came by and told me what needed to be done, i approved and let him do his thing. The guy was solid! he got in and out of there in under 45 minutes and snaked out whatever was clogging up the drain. This is the kind of service people dream of when dealing with plumbers - On time, Friendly, and professional throughout the whole process from beginning to end.

I had a plumber (Sal or Salvador) come out to fix a clog in my sink and to change the toilet. He wanted to charge $550 to change out a basic toilet. I asked him what the breakdown of the cost was and he said $350 for the toilet $200 for install. I asked him if I could buy the toilet myself since online I saw standard toilets for $150-200. He refused to give me a model number of the toilet that he was going to install saying he doesn't know model numbers, he just asks for a toilet that is standard and meets general guidelines. Total BS that he cannot give me a model number of the type of toilet he was going to install.
Secondly, he was going to charge me $150 to unclog my sink and $150 to next time replace the drain pipe that was clogged. So you're telling me it's the same price to replace the entire part or go in there and clean it out? I told him I'm not going to unclog the sink today and he said it will cost more next time.
I don't mind paying for good plumbing service but I don't want a guy who doesn't want to provide toilet model numbers so that he can overcharge me and also to change prices depending on whether or not I do the services that day. Due to the good reviews, I called this service to have a different plumber come out today. We will see...

Horrible Customer Service! I paid almost 300 dollars to have my kitchen sink snaked. It was backing up to my adjoining bathtub. The work was done only approximately 45 days ago. The problem was temporarily resolved. But we later discovered the problem continued to back up again. I contacted Sals, in which I explained to them. They told me their work is only guaranteed 30 days! They told me they can't do anything for me! They can only send someone out again to fix what they didn't fix the first time! She didn't even offer me a discounted price or try to accommodate my family household problem. It seem to me they made their money and very satisfied with that!! Horrible Customer Service!!!!!!!!! Starting fresh looking for a new plumber and Yelp came through again. Called Sal's this morning and immediately was on the phone with a person who scheduled someone to arrive that day and within a couple hours over my lunch break. Their window is only two hours too which helps with making this a long lunch break rather than a half day event. I came home to a puddle around my water heater. I remember seeing the Sal's Plumbing Van when I drive to work. I called, Pedro arrived promptly at 8am. He quickly installed a new water heater. If I could give Sal's more than five stars I undoubtedly would. Just an all around pleasant experience.

After dropping my husband off at the airport for a red eye to the east coast, I returned home to the sound of horror... gushing water. After checking the bathrooms, water heater, washing machine, and even the fish tank, I realized that the sound was coming from under our house!

My husband replied to my panicked texts with a simple Stop worrying about the water bill and the drought. Plane is taking off. Shutting my phone off now. Just call Sal's Plumbing. And so I did.

Not even 45 minutes later and I had an attentive plumber equipped with an extension cord light thingy taking a look under my house. He knew exactly what the problem was and put my mind at ease. He made no promises whether clamping the pipe would work, but fortunately it did. He could've just charged me for a whole pipe replacement, and I wouldn't have been the wiser.

So, at first I was skeptical--a plumber almost at random to deal with a badly stopped kitchen drain. I thought it was just the trap, but couldn't get it loose so I sprung for a plumber. I got Mike Smith, and -- danger sign, I thought -- he thought it was not the trap but actually in the pipe that went to the main. Unfortunately, the old plumbing had fused to the point where it was inaccessible from under the sink. Also, the house had shifted so that that pipe that went to the main was no longer at an angle and was slowly turning to concrete inside. Well, Mike was entirely correct. We checked the trap--nothing. No way into that pipe except by cutting it, but then what good was it? It would just block up again and still no way to get a snake in there. Mike suggested we put in an access valve in the new pipe so that we'd always be able to get a snake in there in the future, without having to rip out the kitchen to redo the plumbing. Well, it was more expensive than a simple snaking, but we couldn't do that anyway, and it meant that in the future we'd always have a solution. Basically, he was smart enough to save us thousands of dollars, which might have to be spent down the road, but for the moment we have a solution. I liked that he was willing to find us a solution that could fit the budget, and he was honest, and best of all, he was right about everything. Highly recommended.

Called Sal's plumbing for a clogged kitchen drain on a Monday morning. They sent a young plumber out. He checked the drain, said definitely needed cleared, but he didn't have the right snake size. He would have to come back tomorrow. Not a big issue, since the plumbing and drains in the front of the house were not clogged. Next morning he comes back, once again, doesn't have the right tools. He says he was thinking that our issue might actually be because the drain wasn't properly attached to the vent. He said we needed to install a two way clear out so he could look both ways and see. He said he would do it All for the price of $3700. He wanted to do that before he cleared the drain. He collected a $370 deposit. He disappeared for 4 hours. Good thing, gave us time to realize that what he said didn't make sense. We already had a one way clear out, so we would have only needed another 1 way to go the other direction and the plumbing had been attached for more than 10 years with no issues. We called and said not to come back. We called another plumber on Wednesday morning (day 3 of no kitchen), who came and cleared the drain for $125. That plumber told us, if they wanted to check the drain attachment, they would have added a clear out at the base of the drain, not in the front yard. I called Sal's the following week and asked for a partial refund, since, although he didn't really do anything, he did check the drain, so we figured we should pay for his time. They said Joe would call us back, that was 2 weeks ago, haven't heard a thing. So, if Joe posts on here that he has called us and all is good or that this is a fake review, don't believe it. I have the receipt and canceled check, just like a person in another review that Joe said was fake.

Yesterday afternoon, we noticed water buildup around our water meter. Contacted Joe first thing this morning and he had his technician, Mario, at our house within the hour. I just moved here not too long ago and had leak under the house. I had a plumber back at my old place that I absolutely loved and trusted but since I was new to the area I had to start fresh and ended up calling Sal's Plumbing off a recommendation from my new neighbor. From the fist call to after the job was done Joe and his guys were absolutely polite, honest and the cost was fair. I was impressed all around. I would definitely recommend these guys.

I had a clog in my toilet and bathtub, it was an emergency and they were very nice and professional,and were here very quickly, it means more to me than most because my dad is very sick and needed the toilet, they were also very reasonably price, I will tell all my friends and will call them whenever I have a pluming problem, thanks very much guy`s!!!!!!!!!

Last week we had an issue where our shower facet in the bathroom started running out of the blue and making a screeching noise. It was 9pm at night. I found Sal's information on line stating 24 hour service. I called and spoke with Joe who was very accommodating. Pedro arrived 30 minutes later. He told us that he needed to replace the shower cartridge and tried to find a store that was open so that he could finish the job. It turns out he could not find the part that night, but he returned the next morning by 10am to fix the facet. Pedro was very polite and professional. He reinstalled the new cartridge a few time until the facet was not leaking. Our facet in the shower has been working perfectly since. I would definitely recommend Sal's Plumbing. I found everyone that we worked with extremely courteous, honest and professional.

I travel a lot back and fourth for work so I have a house in Arizona and California. My house in Redondo Beach kept getting pinhole leaks. I was getting tired of spending $400 here $600 there to keep fixing these pinholes. So my husband and I decided to go ahead and re-pipe our house. We called around to get quotes from all the known plumbing companies around the area they were giving me some outrageous prices. Luckily I was able to find Sals plumbing. They sent me a reasonable quote so I told them to start the job right away. The technician that was in charge of the job was Jay. He did the most he could to make me feel comfortable with what was going on in my house since I couldn't be there. Taking pictures sending me videos making phone calls giving me updates he did an amazing job. I definitely recommend Sals plumbing for any of your plumbing needs.

This is my 3rd time using Sal's Plumbing. I am in the process of selling my house. Buyer inspector found a suspicious jacuzzi pipe leak. The inspector recommended to open a hole in adjacent room to get access to that leak. I called Sal's right away and they sent someone within an hour to my house. They did a test and found nothing wrong with my jacuzzi. What actually happened was the inspector did not fill up water in jacuzzi before he turned on the pump and it over splashed the wall. Since I had something else to be repaired and they fixed for me right away with very good price as usual. What an honest company to have. They could easily feed into my concern and charged me a fortune about that suspicious leak. but they didn't. So they wrote me a inspection report in receipt to show my buyer the jacuzzi is fine. I am very sure I will use them again in the future. !!!! Thank you Sal's.

As a property mgr. of a gated community in the South Bay I take great care to make sure the property stays as beautiful as possible. One of the homeowners of the property called this plumbing firm to do some work. When they finished, I was truly in shock to see the mess they had left! They cut an 8'X12 hole in the garage ceiling to get to the pipe, cut through the outside stucco and made a 5X5 hole which the literally threw plaster at to try to cover but didn't, they left grease marks all over the driveway and walls, damaged the garage door so that a repair was then needed for that, and then they just took off leaving everything in this condition!!! I called the office when I saw this disaster and the male supv. that answered the phone was completely RUDE and said that he thought everything was left as it should have been. Say WHAT?? Please beware of who you have out to do any plumbing!!
