Established in 2014.
Highsmith & Daughters Plumbing Inc. is new to the area, but we are veterans of the trade. We carry years of knowledge in the Plumbing domain. We are a Family Owned and Operated Establishment. Hopefully one day I will be able to pass this business onto my girls, maybe one day even have them work the trade :). I have worked for Family Owned Businesses and I know this is the path I should be on. I am up to date on California Laws and Restrictions. I take annual courses to stay up to date on new fixtures and possible ways to Go Green. My main concern is having your home work the way it should. We have expertise in Tankless Hot Water Heaters, Standard Water Heaters, Faucet Installations, Drain Cleanings, Repair and Replacement of Gas Lines...the list goes on and on. We are well versed in the trade and work by the rules. Please give us a call. Our work and etiquette speaks for itself.
ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER
I have been a Plumber since 2005 and though new to the area I am proficient in the trade, just ask any inspector. Previously I worked for a Family Owned business that had been around for over 40 years. That Business decided to sell and it was very hard to let that go. I decided that i could never work for anyone as great as the former company, so why not work for myself. I have two small girls and I want them to know that I do this for them. I will do the job with the upmost passion and will clean up when the job is completed. I like to leave your home the way it was when i arrived. I started this business for my girls. I hope that they will be proud of there father to be in a trade that has lasted hundreds of years.

Yesterday afternoon our water heater started leaking. Phyllis said Trenton could make it if early evening was okay. Trenton showed up about 7:30pm and Austin shortly after. I can't speak highly enough of the job they did. They were courteous, knowledgeable and quick. They removed the old heater and installed new with latest code requirements and were done by 9:30pm
Highsmith is lucky to have these two guys!!

We had a slab leak at our house and had Highsmith & daughters repair it. The owner was so knowledgeable about the problem and what needed to be done, we didn't even seek a second opinion/estimate. This says a lot because it is a pretty big job. They were super professional , and the work was very high quality. Super happy with the experience, and would recommend them to anybody.
We hired H&D to re-build the pipes under our kitchen sink, as we had several leaks. Trenton crushed it. Did an absolute bang-up job. Will definitely work with Highsmith & Daughters again in the future!
These guys are amazing. Called them today for a clogged kitchen sink. They squeezed me in and were able to come out. They are professional, kind and very willing to help. They are not pushy on any services and are clear on prices before starting. On top of all that they are actually super cool people who you enjoy talking to. 10/10 recommend.

I called because I had water leaking from under my fridge. It turned out to be a waterline leak. I called H&D and they made arrangements to come out at a later appointment just to accommodate me - THANK YOU! Jay (Jason) was amazing in his efficiency, knowledge and kindness and got the job done quickly. I will definitely use H&D again and will gladly give referrals to people I know.
If you need an good honest plumber, call Highsmith and Daughters! I got a quote of $875 Goettl to replace my water heater pressure release valve that started to leak. Goettl said they would basically have to uninstall the heater due to the proximity to the wall. I contacted Highsmith and Daughters to get a second opinion. I sent a pic to the dispatcher and she called me back in 10 mins and said yes we can do it for $275. No need to do anything but replace the valve. Goettl was either stupid or just trying to stick to someone who lives behind a gate. Highsmith and Daughters are awesome!
Last weekend I had a main line stoppage at a rental property I own, so that none of the showers, sinks or toilets could be used. Water was backed up, creating a mess. My regular plumber and a few of the largest plumbing companies in the area were all unable to get out to the property that same day.
Highsmith and Daughters came out within a short time, exactly as they promised. The plumber had to do work that was a little more complicated than usual, but he had 20 years experience and handled the problem well.
Had a toilet shut off valve break. Couldn't get hold of our usual plumber so called Highsmith as I've heard great reviews. They came out early this morning and got us back and working. Also gave us some tips for future situations. Very professional and friendly and fast. Thank you. I think we have a new plumber.

I cannot say enough good things about this company, I've had them come out twice and each time was a perfect experience. The work they did was problem-free, the experience was stress-free, and the price was more than fair. The work was done right the first time and everything was wonderful. Both times the scheduling was easy, they fit me in quickly and communicated with me so that I knew exactly when to expect the plumber. The women who staff the office are helpful and knowledgeable and professional and kind, especially Phyllis who went above and beyond for me. The plumber Jay who came out both times was phenomenal. I wish I'd found this company years ago, it would have saved me a lot of hassles. Going forward, Highsmith will always be my first call.

Highly recommend this company! I had a shower leak and after contacting them, I was answered immediately with really nice customer service including fast response times and realistic estimates. Matthew was able to fix everything in a timely manner and was extremely helpful during this time. Everything went smooth and I am so happy I chose this company. After using other companies in the area, I will 100% continue to use them now and recommend you do the same!
I had a very straightforward clogged drain issue. Jason arrived promptly, was very professional, and fixed my problem for exactly the estimated price which I thought was very fair. Very well done.
After contacting a few other companies who were either extremely rude or didn't call back, Highsmith and Daughters Plumbing took care of us, both on the phone and while working at our home. They will be our 1st call next time! We had a clogged toilet, and they had no problem getting it fixed. They also took a look at our other bathrooms and confirmed everything was fine. Thank you for making this a smooth process.
Highsmith and Daughters has been our plumber for the past two years. They will give phone estimates and that's their price unless the job is more complicated than expected. They back up their work promptly and effectively. The ladies in the office provide excellent customer service. Trenton skills and knowledge are excellent. I value them because they value us.

We had a leak from the bathroom upstairs and called Highsmith since they came recommended. The technician came the next day and started diagnosing the issue. We were given a quote for 350$ which we agreed since the leak was destroying the downstairs ceiling. The technician diagnosed it as a leak from the hot tub faucet and went and changed the stems. The next day there was still water dripping so we called them again. Technician came two days later however started saying it's not from the fixed stem. New diagnosis - your drain needs a new tub elbow -900$ estimate with no guarantee. We went with another plumbing company who replaced the elbow for 200$. They couldn't believe someone had quoted us 900$ and charged us 350$ to change stems. Buyer beware...either the ownership has changed or the technicians have been given lofty revenue targets.. they will milk your bank account dry without any fixes.

Highsmith & Daughters Plumbing came out and replaced a toilet for us. They were very responsive, had very competitive pricing, arrived on time, were professional and did a great job. Thank you!
Our main water line leaked on Christmas Day and I had to get an emergency fix, calling Highsmith due to their good Yelp ratings. They responded quickly and reliably showed up as promised. Everyone we contacted were nice and accommodating. They repaired the leak, however made it clear that they do not warrant work on the repair since the pipes were made of PVC. They would only warrant work on metal piping, which they gave a quote on. A week later, on New Year's Day, the pipe cracked and sprung an even larger leak, so the city shut our water off. I called them again to take a look, but nobody was available to help until the next day. So I called another plumbing company since we could not wait for another day to get it repaired and knew they would charge me again due to no warranty. The other company found that the repair was not done properly and repaired it right for less and even gave a warranty on their work. Although the folks were nice and mostly accommodating, there's no way I can consider Highsmith again since they don't warrant their work and I had to pay twice to get my plumbing properly repaired.
I had a problem with the toilet in my guest bathroom. My daughter had been flushing 'flushable wipes' down it and it overflowed. I called Highsmith & Daughters and Matt came out promptly. He ended up snaking out the drain and pulled all of the wipes out which cleared up the problem. Matt was extremely polite and efficient. Well, fast forward about a year and I started to have problems with the same toilet not flushing correctly. Luckily, it didn't overflow but was threatening to. I again called Highsmith & Daughters and they dispatched Jay. He resolved the problem at the time but highly recommended a new toilet due to the age of the toilet - 30+ years. He gave me two prices - one if they provided the toilet and the second a charge for installation if I purchased it. Sure enough, I got by for 2 more weeks before the toilet was not flushable so I bit the bullet and called Highsmith & Daughters and said I would like the toilet replaced. In looking for a replacement toilet, I realized I knew nothing about toilets so I decided to go with them providing the toilet. Well, it was scheduled for 3 days out and Jay showed up ready to go. I decided to educated myself a little so I hung around the edge and he explained in detail what he was finding and what he was doing. It is a miracle the problem with the old toilet was not a lot worse as it had tree roots that had grown up into the toilet and wax seal. Jay was efficient and kind, putting up with my questions and patiently explaining. The toilet was installed quickly and efficiently and all the minimal mess was cleaned up.
I cannot say enough positive about my experiences with the ladies answering the phone and Jay and Matt. They will always be my 'go to'! I would give them a 10 if it was possible
Incredible service. I needed help quickly and this company came to the rescue. Not only are they nice, but know their stuff and helped me out. Their service team was kind, quick and informative. Couldn't recommend them more. Trenton was the person who came to my home and he was awesome.

Had a leak from upstairs bathroom into downstairs. Called them up and TJ came over the next day. Very polite and knowledgeable. Fixed the problem for the price quoted. Excellent prompt service by an extremely polite gentleman.
Highly recommended and would use again, just hope I don't need to.

I had to repair a sink that had detached itself from the vanity. Highsmith & Daughters did a great job as usual. Been using their services for nearly 7 years now. All their workers are thorough professionals, including Phyllis who coordinates everything over the phone. Price wise they are a bit on the high side, but what would you rather have -- a half-ass job that requires follow-ups OR a repair/install job that's done right the first time?

I hired Highsmith And daughters to install two new toilets. The installation cost was $769. Which was double $198 per toilet that I was quoted when I scheduled the appointment. That $769 installation did not include the cost of the toilets which I purchased separately from the hardware store. I'm definitely still in sticker shock here. This company seems to have a lot of added costs, . Plumber seemed reliable , kept the appointment and picked up the toilet from the hardware store as planned. The invoice that I received did not itemize the string of the extra fees that Trent told me I would be charged over the phone. I am left feeling that Trent was randomly selecting the higher price increases out of thin air.
I won't plan on using this company again. Their cost is inflated. They are not looking out for their customer and are eager to line their pockets with extra fees.
You will be very happy with this company. They are the BEST. Very nice people who do a great job. Very Responsive.

Absolutely hands down amazing. I called this morning because our main was showing signs of being clogged. They got me on the schedule as an emergency and sent Trent out in the afternoon. Everything was great. Low and behold after Trent finished and left at 6:30pm at night my kitchen sink decided to clog up. Trent is at my home right now at 10:43pm at night clearing the clog. He came back after finishing his other calls to clear the blockage. I am seriously forever grateful to him. My husband and I are so impressed with this company and the customer service their techs provide. Absolutely amazing. Will def be using them in the future!!

My tenant needed help with sink asap . They managed to squeeze me in same day. Fixed leak, blockage and new garbage disposal at same time. Tenant happy! Good value. Super responsive service
I called 9 different plumbers and no one seemed interested in helping me with my repair. I called Highsmith & Daughters and got a quick response. Phyllis was able to answer all my questions & give advice. My repair was completed by the end of the day!! I will definitely use them in the future.
We didn't end up hiring these folks (we aren't in the same city), but they were unfailingly generous with their time and advice on what we needed to do, and I feel I'd be fortunate to be able to employ them on future projects.
A supply line to the kitchen sink burst last Friday night. Called and was told someone would be out within an hour or so. They called me back about 10 minutes later and said they're on there way.
TJ arrived and after a quick look, diagnosed the problem. Explained everything to me and proceeded to replace the supply lines for both hot & cold.
He then checked the water pressure to the house to make sure it was within the proper range which it was.
The cost to fix the problem was very reasonable.
This was the best experience with a plumbing company I've ever had.

Fixed our crushed main sewer line. Quotes a great price and maintained their quotes price after it expired. Excellent service and the job was done right!
Our garbage disposal went out, so I was searching for a plumber. I found Highsmith and Daughter on Yelp and from all the good reviews, I decided to give them a call.
I was pleasantly surprised! Phillis, whom answered the call was so helpful and just a great personality. She gave me tips on how to evaluate the problem. WOW! This type of service is so rare these days, and because of that, I scheduled an appointment. She also was kind enough to give a quote over the phone for a garbage disposal replacement. Some other plumbers, wanted to come out to asses the issue, so they didn't give a quote.
The time window was kept, I received a text 20 minutes prior to the plumber's arrival. Jay, our plumber was so nice, professional and clean. He wore a mask, and even asked if he should wear booties in the house.
He switched out the garbage disposal and gave my tips on how to problem solve for the future. His work was efficient, clean and timely.
I'm very pleased and thankful to have found a good company, that I will continue to support when I have plumbing needs.

Had a great experience with these guys! Needed my water heater replaced on short notice - spoke with Phyllis (super warm and friendly) and she was able to squeeze me in the same week. I had many questions on water heater models, tank vs tankless, etc and the owner (Matt) spent 30 min on the phone answering all my questions. Derek came out to install - very professional, knowledgeable, nice guy who did a great job and ensured everything was up to code.
A+ for reliability, communication, and professionalism. Wonderful people and would trust them for any future plumbing needs.
I can't begin to express my appreciation for the professionalism and great work they provided for my home in Moorpark. They were able to rebuild the drain under one bathroom sink, and then fixed an incredibly problematic toilet tank. The job grew into something bigger than planned, but they put me first and got the job done that day. I can't give any more than 5 stars but wish I could. Fantastic work!!!!

We called Highsmith after getting stood up by another plumbing company twice. The woman I talked to on the phone was incredibly polite and helpful in getting our information and getting us set up with an appointment. Their communication was effective, and their tech was super friendly and got the work done quickly.
Their prices also seem quite reasonable. I would highly recommend them for any plumbing work!
Super responsive. Came out within hours of calling them because our kitchen sink completely clogged. Derek was great and eventually was able to fix our issues. Price was reasonable as well. Definitely recommend their services
I had a pretty simple project of replacing a kitchen faucet. Highsmith was easy to reach, attentive, transparent, and, most important of all, professional.
They did my project on time, walked me through some of the steps in the installation process, and came through with a very reasonable price.

I needed to annual service the water heater in a recently purchased home. I called Highsmith & Daughters Plumbing because I recalled seeing one of their trucks and the person driving was friendly. I thought why no try someone who was family oriented enough to put his daughters on the company name and also the person driving the truck was friendly. He quoted me a fair priced and I set up an appointment. Matt had to cancel an earlier appointment with me but still came out the same day and after 5:00 p.m. instead of kissing it off to another day. Matt showed up with his partner and they were very friendly, courteous and respectful. They got right on the job which ended up being more difficult then expected, plus, I wanted the drain valve replaced with a ball valve. They did a good job, cleaned up after themselves and were very professional. Overall it was a very good experience. Even after the extra work and the difficult time with the clogged water heater, Matt maintained the quote he provided and I was shocked. I voluntarily paid him twice the amount of his invoice because of his hard work and integrity. We will definitely call Matt again as we have more projects in the works. Great Job Matt at being one of the good ones out there!
When my washing machine drained, it would back up into my kitchen sink. I have had another plumbing company come out to resolve this only to see the work partially done and told there wasn't much to fix this unless I make modifications to my plumbing. I decided to get a second opinion and called Highsmith & Daughters plumbing. I spoke with Alicia toward the end of the day and was expecting to schedule someone for later in the week. To my surprise she found someone immediately in the area and sent them over that evening. Trent did a thorough job and was able to resolve the issue completely. He gave me a 30 day warranty if the issue were to reoccur. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this company if you're in need of any plumbing service.

Matt is the owner and I'm telling you this is the best plumbing company we have ever used. We've owned our home for over 20 years and when we need a plumber they are the only ones we will ever call!!!

I used their online service request Sunday night hoping to schedule for Monday. We had an immediate need as our main water had to be off until the repair was complete. I got a prompt call on Monday from the most wonderful women in the office, Phyllis. At first they did not have availability. She noticed someone had finished a job, called me right back and made it happen. Her kindness and professionalism was the start of their amazing service. Matthew arrived promptly, worked with my husband and I on a plan and was in and out before I l knew it. I would absolutely recommend them and use them for my future plumbing needs. Jay came out, installed new garbage, tested and left. Very professional, thorough, and work was neat and clean. I have used their services in the past and they are my go to for any plumbing work.
Outstanding workmanship. Very patient at explaining options and checking that everything works afterwards. If you want it done right use Hightower.
I've been putting off this project for a while. When I first noticed the leak from the angle stop I called another company I had used in the past. They told me to wait and if they couldn't get someone out that day they would give me a call. I never got a call, they never committed. So I used Yelp (because all my plumbing experiences have been bad) and I found Highsmith and they were quick to reply to my Yelp request. I was able to schedule an appointment quickly and send pictures to get a quote. On the day of my appointment Trenton text me to let me know he was on his way (on time too). He let me know the process through every step. He work was clean and he was respectful of my home. The work was done in a reasonable amount of time and done well. I will definitely call them back again. This is the best experience I've had with a plumbing service.

The one thing every homeowner dreads is a leaking garbage disposal.
I placed a call into Highsmith & Daughter's and was greeted by Phyllis via phone and text. She gave me price quotes. She took down my information and said she could have a plumber out in the afternoon.
TJ came out, was very professional and I showed him the problem and he wet straight to work and installed a new disposal
I recommend this company for all your plumbing needs.
I needed two toilet flanges replaced. I sent some pics, and Matt was able to quote a price for both flanges.
Mike was the plumber who showed up and got to work. He was efficient and clean, making sure to vacuum up both during and after the work. Several other quotes I'd gotten were to simply install new flanges on top of the old ones, but Matt promised that they would be able to remove the old flanges and install new ones.
Mike did so as promised and I'm a very happy customer.
This is now the second time we have used this company. First they fixed a leaking toilet. Then we had them out a second time when our kitchen sink would not drain.
The plumbers were very good and professional. The CSR on the phone both time was a very nice to speak with. I really like that they texted me that the plumber would be arriving in 10 minutes before they arrived.
Will be hiring them again for all plumbing needs.

I thought a simple disposal swap would be a basic service but to my surprise the quotes I received were all over the place. Highsmith & Daughters Plumbing was the most straightforward and transparent of the contractors who bid on the job. They are fairly priced and proficient at their craft. I don't know why I put myself through getting several quotes when I should just start with this company. THey had done previous work for me before but I wanted to see if they were the best deal for this basic task. The plumber who came was on time, courteous and reasonable. I would not hesitate recommending this plumbing company.
I bought a new Kohler toilet and wanted someone to install it and haul away the old one. Highsmith had a lot of great reviews on Yelp and had one of the best prices of all the plumbers I requested a quote from.They gave me a 2-hour window that they'd show up and arrived on the earlier side of the window.
Trenton did a great job. It took about 2 hours from start to finish. I'm very happy with the work he did and would hire Highsmith again.

Connection to avoid further issues with my situation in a 1966 home with the washer in the garage and the water output drains into a 1966 sink. The piping was in dire need of change and I was so afraid to get it done worried about $$$ HDP came through for me!! Thank you.

Had a leaking shower faucet/cartridge so called Highsmith & Daughters. They responded right away and scheduled me in for service. Trenton came over and presented me with a quote after taking a look. He went to work straight away and fixed the issue. So far so good! Will be using them for future needs. Would recommend
They've done a good job for us on several occasions. I believe the owner is Matt, he did the work, things went great and were reasonably priced.
The reason we likely will not work with them again is because our most recent appointment had significant scheduling issues and the pricing seemed unreasonable. They rescheduled last minute multiple times, in one case hours after we expected them to arrive, and we had to call them to find out what was going on. Once they did arrive (4 days later) the issue turned out to be a clog between the garbage disposal and dishwasher. It was an easy fix (took him 5 minutes), yet the charge was over $150 for labor. I will say, the plumber (not Matt) did explain up front that was a standard price, so I could have declined. It just seemed excessive, especially given much larger work Matt had done for us (replacing all shower fixtures with new high quality parts) for not much more than that.

I had Confirmed appointment for 9 AM by 9:30 no one showed up. I called the office and they said he was scheduled to be in a meeting which made no sense since I had a confirmed appointment.
I reached out again and they told me they couldn't find him. As they're so disorganized I canceled the service. I'll hire someone who wants to work
Our water heater of 20+ years gave out on a Saturday night. I called Highsmith & Daughters and spoke to a very calm Phyllis who helped ensure the water line to the heater was off to avoid further leakage. She ensured me she would be able to get someone out the next day for an A.M. appointment to help us out. Sure enough, Trenton arrived on time and started working ono our water heater. He did not have the new heater on-hand, but assured me the job would be finished the next morning. The following day, Trenton & Derek were here early at the time they promised. They got to work right away and had us up and running again in just a couple of hours. Professional work, great customer service, and would definitely call again if needed (God please do not say they are going to be needed soon).

I like the fact that this is a family business. I have used Matthew and his team for several plumbing repairs over the past few years, including for hose bib replacements, toilet repairs, disposal and faucet replacement and clogged drains. The plumbers are knowledgeable and efficient. I highly recommend their services.
Just needed to again give a shout out to Highsmith. Had a HUGE emergency this morning. Accident at my house, had to shut off the main water line. Called them 1st thing in the morning, here less than 2 hours later, able to cap the broken pipe (tons of structure damage that needs repairing). Water back on before lunch

Can't begin to express the satisfaction and great customer service we have had with Highsmith and Daughters Plumbing. They have helped our family out with several plumbing issues and the outcome has always been great. Matt, Phyllis and their team are definitely what a business should be; professional, friendly and fair. Trust me when I say, you won't be disappointed!
Called them about my kitchen sink flooding my kitchen. Matt came out with 20 minutes took care of my flooding with in 30 minutes.
Matt is great guy, super professional and will be my go to plumber from now on.
I was removing a cinder block wall from our backyard and got a little smash happy with the sledgehammer, sending a brick flying right into a PVC pipe connected to our sprinkler system. Water was flying everywhere, and the only way to shut it off was to shut off all the water to the entire house. I called a few different plumbers but no one was able to come out on short notice.
When I talked to one of the women at Highsmith & Daughters they were also unable to come out on such short notice, but she gave me incredible advice...that I could fix it myself!
Number one: I'm handy and have men constantly doubting my capabilities, so to have someone not doubt me right off the bat was something I've never experienced before. Number Two: she was right, I fixed it myself in about 10 minutes after buying the supplies I needed. I had installed PVC air compressor pipe before and it hadn't occurred to me that this was essentially the same thing.
We're planning a big kitchen remodel in February/March and I will 100% be calling Highsmith & Daughters.
Their practical advice saved the day, I'm so grateful!

Phyllis was friendly and it was very easy to coordinate the appointment. She provided details via text throughout the quoting process and provided great rates.
Trenton kept us up to date on when he'd be coming and was fast, friendly, and efficient.

I had a downstairs guest bathroom toilet, that had a counter top that was just a few inches higher than the toilet tank lid. That made trying to do simple things like even replacing the tank flapper, very difficult (unless you had tiny arms and hands, and I don't). The issue we were experiencing was that the toilet was running nonstop.
I had replaced the tank flapper myself, but the problem persisted. I figured that I might need to purchase new toilet. Since the toilet was situated on a tile floor, I was afraid that any damage to that, might just add to the costs. Therefore, I wanted to keep the toilet instead of replacing it if I could and I didn't want a new water saving toilet. Plus, because of the counter top, it would limit the height of any new toilet I got thereby limiting choices.
I gave Highsmith & Daughters Plumbing a call, and scheduled an appointment with Phyliss. She sent their technician Jay to help us. He was able to replace and rebuild the parts in the tank of my existing toilet and fix it. Jay saved the day. I would definitely use them again.

I love these guys. I had to replace my deader-than-dead water heater and they scheduled an appointment in their busy lineup for a Saturday night to install a tankless as I'd been without hot water for a few days. We had a number of plumbing problems e.g. dripping boiler pipe and a cold/hot water flow issue to the kitchen. HDP came round and went through all our problems and gave us practical and economical solutions to fix the issues. Excellent service and very friendly with no hidden costs. We will be using them for all our plumbing needs.
This company deserves their 5 star rating for sure. We have had them out on several occasions for drain clearing and most recently the plumbing work for a bathroom remodel. Made the appointment 2 weeks out which fit our timeline perfect and they showed up exactly when they said they would and got the work done cleanly, efficiently and for a reasonable price. Matt, the owner is a very personable guy as well as his apprentice . You can't go wrong with H&D plumbing.
If you want a great company that is reasonably priced for the everyday person, give this company a call. They are the best period!!

I had a issue at 9pm and somebody answered the phone right away and they connected me with a plumber, Matthew, who was wonderful and patient with me while he walked me though what needed to be done until they could get there the next day. We had a problem with our tankless water heater where water was gushing from the drain pipe. We called this company because they had been so nice and responsive when we used them for some routine service in the past. They talked me through what I needed to do to stop the immediate problem. Since it was already evening and no real issue, they told us that they would send someone first thing in the morning. And they did! They were quick, honest and very helpful. We will definitely use them again.

The absolute best every time! Friendly,clean, punctual, respectful and are dedicated to their customers! This time T.J came over and he could not have been more friendly knowledgeable kind and patient. He explained to me everything that needed to be done and gave me prices throughout which were beyond fair. The work was done perfectly. I will never ever use a different plumber in my home.
We first worked with Highsmith when they repaired a problem shower that another plumber. had been unable to fix. They are skilled, tidy and professional. Communication is excellent. We just had them install a new garbage disposal, and it is great to know we have a plumbing company we can depend upon.

What an unpleasant surprise to find out you need to have your entire home re-piped! Yikes! Yes, the house is old and so were its bones (galvanized), but still, this was super unexpected. That being said, we could not be happier to have found Highsmith & Daughters Plumbing, and especially Eric and his protégé Trenton. They were amazing from start to finish! Eric was incredibly thorough, communicative (kept us in the loop every step of the way), punctual, friendly, thoughtful, enthusiastic (he actually made certain parts of this project exciting - like our new outdoor hot/cold by-the-pool shower!), and ultimately did a fantastic job. You can tell he really loves what he does, which gave us the confidence that we made the right decision through and through. And let's not forget to mention he and Trenton adored our large, rambunctious, somewhat intimidating but friendly dogs, which made life so much easier to not have to lock them away. As for the price, we knew it wouldn't be cheap - did I mention we had to have our ENTIRE HOUSE RE-PIPED?!? - but we got a few different quotes and Highsmith's prices were overall fair and reasonable. Phyllis, who works in the office and set it all up, is an absolute doll, and Matt (I believe he's the owner) was an honest straight shooter who clearly knew his craft and knew who to send to get the job done right. Thank you Eric, Trenton, Matt, and Phyllis for making a rather daunting item on our to-do list such a wonderful experience!

Matt is the bee's knees. If you need an incredible plumber, look no further. Matt is honest, talented, and understands prioritization. We gutted our kitchen for a remodel the day before California demanded everyone social distance and we didn't have a working sink and we also had a myriad of other problems with our plumbing (which were discovered after the demo). Matt understood how important it was to (at the very least) get out utility sink installed and he made it a priority to service our home QUICKLY to accommodate that. He and his team wore masks to ensure everyone's safety. We have hired Matt twice in the last two months and we actually look forward to working with him again (and talking to him - love the fact that he is a straight shooter with a great sense of humor). LOOK NO FURTHER. You will not find a more capable or talented plumber.
Oh! And if Matt is the bee's knees, Phyllis is the cat's pajamas. She is such a sweet woman and dealing with her for scheduling was a delight.
We had an issue with our water flow and we called Highsmith & Daughters. We Matt, the owner out within a day or so and he was sooooo knowledgeable, really helpful, and just a down to earth, super cool guy. He was able to immediately diagnose the issue for us. We had just moved into the home and needed the invoice to be very specific due to our home warranty requirements. He submit the invoice listing out everything they required and it got approved with no questions (which I feel like is unheard of with home warranties). He was honest, kind, and did a great job! Today Trenton installed new faucets for our washer. Our old washer was 42 years old and the water connections were old and corroded. The Installer could not finish because we needed to replace the connections. Trenton was absolutely fabulous, even helping me to understand some of the 'bells and whistles' that I didn't understand. We've used Highsmith and daughters several times recently and they are undoubtedly the BEST!! Jason helped us previously for a different problem and he is equally incredible.

I called them about hydro jetting my lines and the person who answered the phone talked to me a for few minutes about my problem then recommended I get my line snaked for a much lower cost. She also recommended I get the coupon online and save a little money in the process. Unfortunately I called while she wasn't in the office and didn't get a call back (at least not from a number that left a voicemail) so I ended up giving my business to a different company. I would consider them for future work given my first interaction was positive.
Plumbing is the bane of my home maintenance skills.
H&D have done several jobs at my home, from replacing the hot water heater to fixing a leak from the main service line.
They are upfront with their pricing and don't push for unnecessary services.
Very happy with their service and quality of work.
I have used Highsmith and Daughters twice now. Each time really nice people came on time and did the job at hand. Not messy. Very reasonably priced and did not try to upsell me either time. Plumbers are sometimes dicey and I am gun shy from being ripped off in the past. I call them now and I know I will receive great, honest service and competitive pricing.
Had them come out to install a fill valve and flapper on a toilet. The plumbing technician Trenton arrived on time. He was not only professional, but very neat and courteous!. We are now waiting on a bid from them to do other work in our home.

Matt and Phyllis were a pleasure to work with from day one. I called Highsmith on Sunday 12/29/19 and the call was answered by Phyllis within one ring. She cared about helping me and asked me if I needed someone out same day. Being that it was a Sunday their rate was higher then I wanted to pay and opted to wait and schedule an appointment for the following Saturday.
I then called again on 12/30/19 and asked if I could move the appointment up to Tuesday 12/31/19 and they were very accommodating.
I reached out to them to get a second opinion from another plumber that stated I had a broken drain line and it would cost $6,500 to reroute my kitchen drain through my garage and through my front yard that was just re-done.
Not only did Matt clear the clogged line, he sent a camera down the line to confirm it was not broken and helped me to better understand how the plumbing in my house was run and offered some additional cost effective solutions if the problem persisted.
Needless to say any other plumbing issues I have Highsmith & Daughters will be my first call.

This company are my plumbers for life!! I woke up today with water leaking from my ceiling. I called them at 8am...they were here at 830am. Fixed the problem and gave me advice to avoid such an instance in the future. They did not overprice and were so polite and professional. Excellent service. They arrived and troubleshot the problem, why my kitchen sink wasn't draining. They went to work right away clearing it and then tested for drainage and leaks three times before they called it good to go. They honored the $99.00 special price. Very courteous and professional. Answered our questions and made some recommendations for preventative maintenance in the future to keep our plumbing clear and draining. I would highly recommend them if you're in Simi Valley or neighboring communities. Great one day service call, even though we called after 1:00PM, they still scheduled to be here between 3:00 and 5:00PM. Excellent plumbers!
Had a leak in the master shower and a mystery leak in the downstairs bathroom. TJ came in the time free that was quoted and took care of the Master shower leak in no time. He also inspected the downstairs leak and did not find anything plumbing related including any damages that would be sustained from a plumbing issue. I have been using Matt and the guys for 20 years one way or another and they are amazing plumbers for sure but this review is not about them it is about their unsung hero, office manager Phyllis.
My wife noticed our kitchen sink was not flowing. I took apart all the piping from the disposal to the wall and it was clean as a whistle. Neither of us were thrilled trying to get a plumber just before 4th of July weekend. I called Highsmith, left a message and Phyllis got right back to me. Told her the problem. She said they were super busy, holiday not helping, doing big jobs. I may have groaned loud enough for her to hear. I asked and she recommended a near by plumber but then started to ask me detailed questions regarding this clog. She reccomend that I go outside by the kitchen window and see if there was a clean out. Now I'm a super handy guy and that just never occurred to me but I could see where she was going. I told her I would call her back. Found the clean out, gross, snaked it, flushed it with a hose and it was good to go. Elated I called Phyllis back thanking her profusely for making a potentially awful day, a real nice day. So thanks again Phyllis it's just not the guys who are plumbers.

During a load of laundry we had a massive leak, water everywhere!!! I called Highsmith and Daughters right away (this was the second time I used them). They were super busy but were able to squeeze us in and sent someone the next day. Matt came wearing a mask which I appreciated. He was personable and fixed our problem. I did a load of laundry and it seems fine. I felt price for the job was fair. I'll definitely call this company again!
We had a nasty leak in the hot water line under our slab between the guest bath and living room. Matt was at our house Monday, as soon as the leak detection guy had pinpointed the location. He assessed the situation and recommended a re-route to fix. His crew, Eric and Trenton, showed up Wednesday morning, and the job was done by early afternoon, including the water heater replacement that I also requested.
These guys are all very skilled and knowledgeable, and got right to it with no time wasted. Bonus points for being very friendly and extremely polite! And Phyllis, Matt's mother, who runs the office and answers the phone, is just a joy to talk to. I enthusiastically recommend this company to anyone looking for great plumbing service!

We had a small kitchen sink job, which was installing a new faucet and some work on the pipes under the sink so they didn't have to rest on a brick any more!! The first plumbing company I called did not return the message that I left them during their business hours. So, I remembered seeing the Highsmith & Daughters truck in various local neighborhoods. I called them up, got a nice lady on the phone who told me to take a picture of the problem under the sink so she could show Matt for a quick quote. This was all done in no time, and an appointment was made.
Matt and his assistant showed up within the time frame they said they would. Both were super friendly and got right to work. In the end, the job cost less than the quote given over the phone. It was the best plumber in the house experience you could hope for. I highly suggest you think of them first for your plumbing needs!!

This is the third time I've had Matt and his team help with plumbing issues over the last couple of year. They've replaced our garbage disposal, installed faucets, changed out our angle stops, replaced our house shut off valve and washer machine valves.

I was so reluctant to have another contractor come to my home for some plumbing repairs because I have not had very good experiences lately, but I had a broken toilet, broken shower diverter, and plugged sink so I absolutely needed some help. I was so pleasantly surprised when Trent came to do my repairs. He did an outstanding job, was polite and clean-cut, and took the time to explain what he was going to do and checked and rechecked his work. Matt was great replacing our shower faucet and valve. He explained the quality of the valve and faucet he installed. I really appreciate making sure we have a great quality faucet that will last a long time and if we wanted to replace the face plate, that would be easy to do. This is a great plumbing company. We recently had two problems which required their help. Somone (Phyllis) always answers the phone. She is very friendly. Scheduling the appointment was easy and fit into our schedule. Matthew (owner) showed up on time. He fixed a problem within an hour when the previous company wanted to tear up our shower floor. Matthew did not have to do this unnecessay and costly work. He was neat and friendly and efficient. The same things apply to our second visit. I highly recommend you try this company.
I have to recommend Matt and his plumbing business since he has come out to my home on several occasions and has taken care of any plumbing issues we have had in a prompt and professional manner. He is very fair and competitive with his pricing, and has a great personality plus a sense of humor as well. I had been given an estimate from a previous plumber on work (not needed) that added up to over $8000!. I called out Matt for a second opinion only to learn I was being scammed by the first plumber and Matt took care of this minor issue that we were having for a minimal fee. They say in poker a full house ALWAYS beats a flush, except when you need a plumber! Then a flush is better than a full house! Matt is the guy to call for any plumbing issues you have. The reason I say this is because that is what I will do, no questions asked!

A friend recommended me to Matt, and when I called the office they sent him to me immediately. He was at my home in under an hour.
Long story shortened-he could have taken advantage of the situation and billed me for broken pipes and repairs-but it was actually just a faucet that was turned on, and the water was going into an unsealed area.
I feel Matt is honest, fair and willing to be there in an emergency without taking advantage.

When done they make sure everything is to your satisfaction and let you know the warranty and to call if you have any issues later call and they will be happy to comeback and make things right. A great 5-star experience. I came home to find the pipe under my sink was leaking and the value that shuts off the water under the sink did not work. It was late on a Saturday. Matt came out the same day I contacted them, and his quote was very reasonable. I'm so relieved to find a great plumber that I can depend on. I highly recommend Highsmith and Daughters Plumbing.
Had a root problem with a main drain that had been started and dug up by another plumber. Jason showed up on time , we had a pleasant conversation, but he had to ask his boss for a price. Charged me $250 to scope drain and temp open drain. Highsmith had been recommended by a good friend and I was all set to go with them. But they wouldn't give me a price even though I called the next day. Waited another day and still no response so I called drain pros in Simi who came out and No charge scoped line and gave me a good price. Drain pros did an excellent job which Highsmith couldn't do. PS. Highsmith messaged me 5 days later at night but still no price.
Once again this company comes through. I've been using Highsmith & Daughters exclusively for all my plumbing needs for the past 5 years. They are professional, friendly and very fair. They have fixed a leaky sink, backed up toilets, and today cleared the drain for the washing machine. Once you find a tradesman you can trust, you stick with them. I can't say enough about this crew!

I had a toilet water supply line that was leaking, so I reached out to H&D via Yelp. Matt had previously replaced a washing machine supply line/shutoff for me, so I knew he does great work. It wasn't an emergency as the ancient shutoff still worked, so Matt was able to work with my schedule and come by two days later. He replaced the shutoff valve and supply line and even offered to update the fill valve in the old toilet for an extra $12. No brainer! Work was perfect and he left the area cleaner than it was, and the price was very reasonable. H&D is my go-to for any plumbing issue that is outside my skillset.
We had Trenton (T.J.) arrive late but after an apology and honestly telling us why, there was no reason to at all. As small business owners ourselves, we like honesty and being upfront. Things happen and given the situation at the prior appt. he showed up and with a remarkable attitude. This call was for an elderly lady we watch over and he took to her like she was his grandma. Explaining the problem, which by the way was right on, how he was going to fix it and finely how he was going to clean up the small mess he made from snaking the line. We all hope for a reputable mom and pop business to show up because during this time we don't need excuses. Unfortunately, many just want the money and disappear (the flashy vans, thousands spent on advertising etc...) Give these guys a chance and you will not go anywhere else. Thanks again!
I have hired Matt for a couple of plumbing issues and upgrades. He has always shown up on time, been very fair with his pricing and always goes above and beyond the job at hand. He is my #1 and only choice for all of my plumbing needs!!!

Keeping in mind that there are a ton of fake reviews out there and dishonest service people, I was dreading the search for a legit plumber. Especially after being ripped off a couple months ago by a different local plumber. But I was really fortunate and lucky to find HDP.
Matt was able to come out fairly quickly and answer all of my questions regarding a leak we had at my parents home. He originally told me the job could take anywhere from 4-6 hours but he was done by 3, and even fixed an issue that the other plumber had failed to do. Matt was also able to give me an awesome referral to get the ceiling patched up.
Matt and his buddy were friendly, respectful-always putting on booties when walking into the house, and so efficient! I would highly recommend going to HDP for all your plumbing needs!
Had a leak in our main pipes and decided to call Highsmith and Daughters due to their high reviews. Matt assessed the problem and fixed it. The work done on it was very professional and clean. If you're like me and always want to have something done perfectly, I would give them a call. Very satisfied and would definitely call back for any other future issues.

Matt was great!! This is the third time I've used their services. I had a slab leak that was coming up through my living room floor. Matt walked me through the options of a reroute or going through the floor to make the repair. He even walked me through the potential issues I could have if we went through the floor. I choose to do the reroute as it made the most sense and the cost was about the same as my insurance deductible. They were on time, wore masks, and were very personable. They were able to do a reroute which saved me from having to rip my floors and we're able to complete the job in about half a day. Highly recommend these guys as they are always professional, provide options, and walk me through the issues and solutions.

Amazing work! Jay was sent out to our home to fix a sink and a toilet. The sink had been fixed twice before with no luck from handymen my landlord sent out. So I called this company and was not disappointed. Came out when they said they would after a warning call. Always nice to get a heads up when you have dogs that you need to lock up.
Jay was straight up with me and I appreciated that. He also screwed my toilet seat back in for me
No more washing dishes in my backyard! Thank you!!

TJ showed up on time, assessed the situation & thoroughly discussed options with me on how best to proceed with solving my plumbing issues. I never once felt like I was being oversold or pushed on a service option. TJ not only successfully fixed my problem but also cleaned up & asked me if I needed any further help putting my bathrooms back in order. I am a totally satisfied customer & will definitely call H & D again (but hopefully not too soon).
Matt and his team are the best. We've had two complicated water main leaks as well as some other easier issues and they've handled them all professionally and fairly. Phyllis the office manager is so lovely, responsive, and accommodating. Highly recommend the entire team!
Needed to relocate a washer and dryer from inside the house to the garage. Matt took care of all the plumbing for the washer, he and Trenton moved the machines, and Matt ran the gas line for the dryer as well. Every step of the process, from the first visit for the estimate, to the completion of the job was handled flawlessly. And Phyllis is great, always in touch with updates on arrival times and appointment confirmations. I had Matt back out for another job after the fact and again just a great experience. Wouldn't use anyone else!

We actually used Matt a couple of times already. So this review is over due. It's so hard to find an honest company out there and trust me I've been duped many times! Matt installed our water heater a few months back and what a positive experience! He arrived on time, was professional, and very knowledgeable. The second time we called Matt was when we finally realized our general contractor was not going to return to install our tub (horrible experience with our contractor). Turns out the pre drilled hole and piping was done all wrong from the contractor and Matt had to redo everything!!! We thought it was just a simple install...poor Matt took on the job like a champ! Took him a little longer than expected but what a beautiful job! He even left my bathroom sparkling clean! Both times he had a trainee with him. Even the trainee was professional and friendly. I think Matt's pricing is very fair. Straight forward, no nickel and diming. Don't look any further, call Matt!! I am just glad we found our plumber! Thank you!

Got stuck with a bad water heater last Saturday and Matt called me right away after calling six or seven plumbers Trent came out immediately did a great job replacing our water heater. I was doing laundry on a Sunday morning and noticed the entire garage floor was under water. Water heater had busted. Tried many local plumbers and all except for a few were open. Mathew was extremely professional. Showed up on time, very polite, focused and knowledgeable. I had him come out to rescue me on a Sunday late afternoon. I had difficulty trying to resolve a water hammer condition due to an irrigation bubbler valve that was making a lot of noise in the attic. I have had 4 different plumbing companies come out over the last 10 years to fix this annoying but infrequent motorcycle sound but none of them could fix the problem. I finally decided to take this task on myself. First issue was the copper pipes were not clamped down every 3 or 4 feet as they are supposed to be. (A copper re-pipe company let me down on that.) After clamping down the pipes all throughout the house and garage... (the noise relocated to different places as I did this work) I needed to add an air column so the water could compress the air instead of banging the pipes. I tried to solder the copper pipes myself, and just could not do the job well enough. I ended up needing his professional skills to rescue me, and instead of berate me for my sloppy work, he re-soldered all the joints, tested them holding, and then even cleaned up the mess on the copper pipes that I had previously made. Mathew said if I had any issue from this visit, he would come out right away at no charge. (The water hammer noise was fixed, at least I was on the right path to resolve that !) Too bad I met Highsmith & Daughters right as we are preparing to move to another part of the country. We would use him for all of our plumbing needs from now on. I highly recommend him.

This is the best plumbing you can find in the valley. Mathew did install the shower drain and relocate the water pipe for the refrigerator at the most reasonable price. I will definitely use them in the future.
From the very first phone call Phyllis was just so sweet and personable. We had a quote from another plumbing company and they said the job would require cutting a hole I'm our dining room wall to access our bathtub. Matt came out and was polite, funny, and knew his stuff! He fixed it in a heartbeat with no mess or cutting and the price difference from the other company? Well about 1/4 and NO hole in my wall. They will have our buisness as long as they are working, and I would recommend them to anyone that wants it done right!

I cannot recommend Highsmith & Daughters highly enough. I have used them three times within the last two years. The first two times were for old, very stubborn Delta shower faucets. They are a nightmare! Matt was able to remove them and replace the cartridges w/o having to tear a hole in my drywall. This morning, Mike and Edgar came over to replace a bathroom sink faucet. As always, they were on time, courteous, and professional. If you're looking for a plumber you can trust, look no further than Highsmith & Daughters!
Just had our toilet serviced. Had a leak from the base. Trenton came out and did a great job. This is a fabulous company. Good people and I highly recommend them to do all your plumbing needs. They are very good at communicating. Trenton is an outstanding young man. Very professional and clearly explained everything that he needed to do. I would not hesitate in using their service again.

Yesterday, At 3pm!! I went to turn my backyard hose on and the old pipe cracked and out came a non stop fire hydrant like spout of water. I had to shut off water to the whole house! A different plumbing company, well-known in the area, came and fixed a leak for my 84 year old mother. They told her she needed to replace all her pipes.... at a cost of $48,000! She was ready to sign on for that.
I found Matthew's Highsmith and Daughters Plumbing on Yelp, and he went to my mom's home a day later. He told me that the pipes are fine, and he would have charged only $12,000 for re-piping if it had been necessary. He also took a lot of his time on the phone with me, advising on her future plumbing needs and talking me through the rip-off scam my mom just went through. He did all this for free!
Matthew will always be the plumber we call in the future. He is honest, has great prices, and cares about his customers.

We tried to install a water filter and in the process our water valve broke making water flood our kitchen. We had to turn off the water main and needed a plumber urgently on a Sunday. The team was quick to respond and sent Danny to us quickly who remedied the problem. We were grateful for the full service over the weekend to get our water back! Will definitely use them again.

I've called on Matt and his crew for several jobs over the years - toilet & faucet installs, copper pipe leak fix and water regulator replacement. Each time Matt was professional, knowledgeable, and extremely easy to work with. I tend to ask a lot of questions and he patiently answered all of them and taught me a few things. He is great with my family, including my 2 dogs. I trust his work and know that he is running an ethical business. His scheduler, Phyllis, is always available to answer calls. She is friendly, accommodating, and makes you feel like family. Would highly recommend!
When we bought our house, there was a list of items on the inspectors recommended fixes and several of them were plumbing related. I was very anxious to find a plumber since everything was so overwhelming but I am thrilled to have been recommended this company. First off the receptionist is the sweetest older woman and i felt like we were besties by the end of the conversation. This drew me in right away because she truly seemed like a nice person who was honest. Come to find out, this is a family run business (love that!) because her son, Matt, came to my home along with a colleague and addressed all of our plumbing issues.
This included replacing our water pressure meter, fixing some incorrect piping under our kitchen sink, removing a loose toilet and installing a new toilet , fixing our bath to shower spigot switch (forgot the name of this) which wasn't functioning, and even removed an existing fixture and installed a new bathroom vanity and sink hardware for me.
I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking for an honest and all around nice guy who gets the job done professionally. I believe we were given very fair pricing when I compare with some friends who have had similar work done. I will be having them back for more work soon!
I just have to leave a review because the service I experienced today was so quick, easy, and affordable. We had a bathtub backing up, a shower backing up, and a leak underneath one sink. My first call into the company was a little after 3pm and by 4:30 Mathew had already come to our home and addressed each issue. He was also professional and kind to our toddler and dogs. When ever I have a plumbing issue at my house Matthew is the ONLY person I will call. I can't say enough about his professionalism, integrity and the quality of work he performs.
Matt has done simple jobs from replacing a pressure regulator to larger jobs such as replacing my entire main water line which connects in the street. He's always willing and able to answer any and all questions, and I feel that his answers come from a place of advising the best course of action rather than how he can make the most money.
Being a Real Estate professional, I also have Matthew listed as my preferred vendor for plumbing and I don't hesitate to refer him to my clients. He's priced reasonably for low flow toilet installs and auto shut-off valves for gas meters. Referring people really is considered the ultimate compliment and I don't hesitate to recommend Matt to friends, family and clients.

Found the service here to be quick, professional, kind and knowledgeable. We had a very pleasant experience when we called on a Friday because one of our toilets was leaking, despite our best efforts to close the valve on the pipe and not use the restroom. They were able to get someone out the next day to look at it, and the issue was diagnosed and fixed within an hour. Found Highsmith very easy to work with, and will definitely call again in the future!
We have called on a Saturday and Sunday and Matt came out within a half hour both times. I feel like he was reasonable even though it was off hours. He fixed both problems and gave us insight to what was going on (cameras showing the situation with our sewer). I've called other plumbers, and none we're as skilled and helpful. He was also really nice and not only fixed our problem, but cleaned the sink and underneath, something I was dreading because it was sooooo awful. I highly recommend them!

I had a few issues that needed to be fixed. First line of contact was with Phyliss, who deals with scheduling and coordinating logistics. She is awesome and very responsive. It turned out Matt had to come out a couple of different times to get the work completed but he always came when he said he would and did great work that was priced fairly. Considering the fly by nighters out there, you can rely on these guys.

I had a leaking pipe in my front yard yesterday. My husband had dug a huge hole and couldn't figure out exactly what it was so my water was off during the day and all night. I have two little daughters and I'm supposed to be hosting Thanksgiving this week so we needed this problem fixed ASAP and I really wanted my water turned back on. I called Phyllis at 7am Monday morning and she was able to get someone out to my house by 8:30am. Matthew was a super cool guy, professional and really funny. He gave us multiple options in fixing it and we chose what worked best for us. Matt the owner and Phylis are fantastic. Seriously look no further cause this is the best plumbing company I have ever used and over the last 20 yrs had a few. Called and next day he came out. They are honest, great at communication giving me email and call updates. They run a very efficient business and I'd highly recommend them and for me to do that they have to be excellent.
I am trustee for my sister's modest trust. She is itellectualy disabled and recently experienced a clog in her plumbing lines in her Camarillo mobile home. I live more than 1000 miles away from her and on the day this happened I could not 'vet' anyone to come out to take care of the problem. Somehow she wound up calling a quack roto rooter company who wanted $500+ to pull a toilet & camera to assess the problem (a clog). They wanted $3200 - yes that's 32 $100 dollar bills to correct the problem. Through a friend, I was encouraged to call Highsmith & Daughters for a second opinion. Matthew corrected her problem for under $200. He did suggest a few upgrades for her clean-out situation which we will proceed with soon. What a blessing to have such an honorable man to call on. Do not even hesitate to call him if you have a problem. Side note - arrived exactly when he said he would. Thank you so much Matthew - and your wonderful scheduler, Phyllis.

Matt with Highsmith and Daughter replaced several fixtures and the price was reasonable. I was able to get an estimate and schedule an appointment with no problem. Saturday late evening my kitchen sink decided to back up. I tried all the usual at home methods to unclog it and got nowhere. Called on a Sunday and received same day service. Matt arrived at our home and spent well over an hour unclogging the sink, even going into the roof to do so. VERY competitive prices, the quotes I received from other emergency plumbers were higher just for the service call alone. I would definitely recommend to anyone needing great service.

Recently had a plumbing project to move our laundry from the garage to inside the house. Called around to get several estimates on the job, appreciated the level detail that Matt included on the estimate compared to all others (This allowed me to know exactly what was included) and the price was comparable to others and better than most. When calling to schedule the job they were able to fit my project in the same week.
Matt arrived on time for the appointment, got to work right away and finished in less time than he had originally estimated. Once all the plumbing work was completed he called in some help to move the washer and dryer (Matt, sorry about the weight).
Based off this first experience with Highsmith and Daughters I now will not need to get multiple estimates for jobs and will just be making a single call to get the work completed.
Available on short notice, excellent work, left the area perfectly clean! He and his staff were courteous and friendly. All this for a reasonable price. Great job!

I have to agree with everything that's been said. After a year of using our home warranty-provided vendors (generally a shady, unpleasant bunch, though not always), it's a joy to find hardworking, pleasant, and honest folks. We've had a mystery leak around the shower that Matthew quickly identified, diagnosed, and fixed within a couple hours at a reasonable price. Can't ask for much more.

Short and sweet review - had an issue with both water valves in our laundry room, they were not shutting off completely and prevented us from having a new clothes washer installed. Called Highsmith & Daughters and got Matt to come out on a Saturday evening, did not charge an extra fee for weekend etc and prices were very reasonable. Replaced the two valves quickly, cleaned up after himself and all in all did a fantastic job. (We won't let the fact that he is a Patriots fan tanish just how well he did in the repair). Phyllis, who answers their phone, was also excellent - not only arranged for Matt to come out, she communicated in detail how long it would take etc and even called back a few hours later with an update on his arrival time. That part really stood out as far as exemplary communication. Give them your business they really deserve it!

I used Highsmith & Daughters Plumbing recently for a bathroom renovation and could not be happier with the outcome. Matt is an awesome person to work with. He provides an honest opinion and is very flexible when working with you.
I needed the rough in plumbing redone for a bathtub, toilet and sink. He replaced DWV and copper supply lines as needed. All work was professionally completed and at a fair price. First rate service. I got a callback 10 minutes after I requested a quote on Yelp in late afternoon, confirmed the appointment a little later, showed up earlier than promised the next day and fixed my dishwasher leak problem very quickly. Jay was polite, knowledgeable, and efficient. All I could ask for.
Honest, professional and priced right! No gimmicks or last minute charges. They arrived on time, did what they said they would do, cleaned after themselves and charged what they quoted. We have a few more things that need to be updated and we'll definitely call Highsmith to do the work. Highly recommended!

Woohoo ... as good as it gets is right! This is the first review I have written on yelp and felt it necessary to give accolades where they are due.
I called Highsmith and Daughters Plumbing for a service call on my bathroom sink and toilet. Jay, the technician, arrived on time was courteous, professional and started working immediately; he even gently moved away all of the decorations in the area that could get splashed. I know that it took longer than he originally expected to solve both problems ... although he was persistent in finding the appropriate solutions ... with no additional upcharge or surcharge. He even cleaned up after the jobs and replaced all of the decorations. I truly wish I could give Jay and Highsmith a higher recommendation than five stars!!! One word ... AWESOME.

I don't post a lot of yelp reviews - just when something is notably good or bad. In this case, I am pleased to report that I had an overwhelmingly positive experience with Matt and his associate. Here is how it all transpired:
My Issue - water would seep through the wall of my downstairs laundry room whenever I would flush an upstairs toilet. My handyman tried replacing the toilet seal but it didn't help, so it was clearly something more complicated, i.e. a leaky pipe in the wall. I had opened up the wall a small amount prior to hiring a plumber but couldn't see anything obvious.
Matt's FREE inspection - He spent about 20 minutes assessing the situation, discussing the symptomology (like an MD taking a patient history), and immediately ruled out a couple of possibilities. He told me a couple of options including replacing the toilet seal the proper way (i described how the handyman did it and it was not ideal), I could open up the wall more myself to get a better look at the leaky area, or he could just handle it all. I like options particularly those that have significant price implications, and I opted to open up the wall myself as a starting point. Low and behold, the leaky pipe was staring me in the face, right where he thought it would be!
Matt's repair - He showed up on time on a saturday, took a look at the newly opened wall and gave me an estimate of the repair price based on the complexity and time he estimated to complete the job THAT DAY! Everything went according to plan - the repair was complicated and in a tight space surrounded by wires and beams. Matt did a precise job without having to remove any beams and did not cause any ancillary damage. The job took about 4 hours as he had roughly estimated.
Extras - When he showed up, I also mentioned that my garbage disposal had conked out - i had already purchased a replacement and asked if he would install that too. He did so without question and that job would have been done in a flash if he didn't also discover another leak of a corroded pipe under my sink. So he replaced that too. The whole package of jobs was extremely reasonable. And all throughout, I had an intelligent, technically competent, and socially capable guy on the job who was willing to explain to me exactly what was going on.

I was not happy with my experience with Highsmith & Daughters. When I called, I explained that I was having issues with my dishwasher so they sent someone out to take a look. After taking a quick look at the water valve under the sink, the plumber said that it needed to be replaced without doing any diagnostics. So I told him that I didn't want to replace it if we didn't know if that was the real issue. At that point, he checked the water pressure in the valve and discovered that it was completely fine. Then he said that he doesn't do work on dishwashers and that I needed to pay their minimum charge of $89 just for coming out. Here are the things that I had issues with:
1. Why didn't the guy on the phone tell me that there was a minimum charge? This is information that needs to be stated up front.
2. Why didn't the guy on the phone tell me that they DID NOT WORK ON DISHWASHERS? If had known this, I would have promptly called someone who did!
UPDATE: Matthew (the owner) gave me a call to apologize that I was unhappy and to discuss what happened. I'm changing my review from 1 star to 3 stars because I believe this shows that a business cares about its customers and wants to have open dialogue about what went wrong.

Now THIS is customer service at it's FINEST !! I've never even USED this plumber before but l GUARANTEE l will use them when l need one !! I was having issues with a stripped Allen bolt in my shower and just called them for advice. I'm guessing l was speaking to Matt but he was HAPPY to help me over the phone !! I texted him a picture of the problem and he gave me the solution !! Too few people are willing to give free advice anymore. Highsmith and Daughters will DEFINITELY get my business !!
Called these guys to reseat toilets and found the telephone receptionist to be extremely courteous and helpful in scheduling a visit. Jay was very personable and throughly checked both toilets and recommended that only one needed repair. His price was very reasonable and he worked very efficiently. I will definitely call these guys back if I ever have another problem, unlike a couple of other big companies that will never get my business again.
All the 5 star ratings (which are why I called Matt in the first place) are spot on. It's hard for me to add more. Matt and his team are honest, straightforward, on-time, quick, thorough. We had a complex sewer issue (slab, tree roots, etc) in our Simi Valley home, and through all of it Matt was professional and patient in explaining to me what was going on, what needed to be done - and what *didn't* need to be done. From the start he let us know it would need major repair, but didn't pressure us to pull the trigger on it until we were ready. Whether our issue was on a regular day, weekend, or holiday, Matt figured out how to get us the help we needed to keep the toilets flushing! I'm kind of sad that our sewer issue is now fixed, because Matt and his team were a pleasure to work with.
We had a fantastic experience with Highsmith & Daughters Plumbing. We had a slab leak and Matt was prompt and very professional. His work was fantastic and he made sure to explain what he was doing along the way. I would highly recommend him!
Our main line in our front yard broke somehow, and after a week of trying to diagnose the problem and get it fixed, I finally got in touch with H&D Plumbing. Matt was out in less than an hour after I called and he & Danny quickly figured out the problem and gave me a thorough estimate for the repair/re-piping.

I had an emergency at my house when I came home from work and my house was flooded due to broken line. it was after hours and I called 8-9 plumbers before I found Highsmith & Daughters. Matt came over right away, fixed the problem and made the right recommendation to get restoration people over right away to dry my house to avoid mold and other problems. He was knowledgeable, honest and very nice to work with. I highly recommend Highsmith and Daughters for any plumbing needs.

I hired them to replace three bathroom sinks and faucets. I had already purchased two of the faucets and thought the other one could be reused. I left while he did the work and when I returned he said he could not reuse the one and installed one off the truck. I was charged $198 for that faucet, I spent $35 for the ones I had previously bought. He did not call me to approve I would have bought one like the others and brought it to him. All the reviews were good so I did not ask for a written estimate, next time I will.
I have never left a review before but this time just had to! This is just the BEST company!! From my first phone call to saying goodbye to Danny, this was the best experience ever!! Phyllis patiently explained all my options and answered so many questions!! Seriously, the service you get from this family owned business will not be matched!! These guys went out of their way and worked late to replace our water heater so we could have hot water tonight. So happy I found them! We won't be calling another plumber again!! This review is long over due. We had a slab leak in our house that we were getting ready to sell. After we had a leak detection company come out to find the exact spot of the leak we had Matthew come out the next day to fix the problem. He did a re-route of the pipes and completed the job in a day and was very neat with the work he did. We've had Matthew do numerous other plumbing work for us in the past and will definitely use him again. He responds to your calls and comes out quickly to fix the issue. He is always very professional and courteous. I would highly recommend him.

we highly recommend Jay for an excellent job. we initially contacted D..n plumbing and almost got ripped off for a job that would have cost us 10k+ of re-plumbing which turned out to be not our problem at all. Jay was sent to us by Phyllis and Jay figured out the problem in first 10mins of analysis, which is nothing but the water heater that had past its operational life. overall happy with Jay's quality work and professionalism that we called him back again to for another work to replace the water regulator.

I chose this company due to location (I'm in Simi Valley) and due to the high ratings here on Yelp. Result? I now know I will never have to search for a plumber again as long as Matt keeps running this company. Outstanding work (installing two new toilets), very sound advice and recommendations. We like them so much we've decided to be proactive on four more plumbing projects and have Matt take care of them before they become future issues. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Definitely as good as it gets!

We had a major problem in our home (cracked drain pipe) that ruined our hardwood floors and after dealing with so many other people, Highsmith & Daughters were the only ones that helped us diagnose the problem and repair it quickly. Super professional and we then dealt with Jay for the repair and I would use the same words to describe him. Matthew has done work multiple times on our house and a rental house over the last several years with his former company and now on his own. My father trained to me to do plumbing back when we used galvanized pipes and then I continue to do most repairs up until the last few years. So I'm very aware of the details of plumbing repairs and can judge who is competent. I found it is better to have someone good with all the parts in their truck come out at the beginning rather than get stuck on my back underneath the sink trying to loosen stuck pipes and having to go back and forth to Home Depot for the right part.
I have had plumbers come out when I know more than they do but Matthew is the real deal. He went out on his own when the company he worked for was sold. I continued to use him . He gives a thorough explanation of the problem and what he plans to do. Matthew attempts to find the most cost-effective solution and gives the pros and cons of various options. He is very honest and up front with his price for the job. he has done several jobs, replacing toilets, repairs, drain cleaning and a hot water heater.
Matt is dependable and reliable and a great plumber. He explains the situation and offers practical options. He is our go-to plumber for all of our plumbing needs. I highly recommend him.
Matt recommended and installed a Pelican salt-free soft water system in my home. He completed the design and installation promptly and in a professional manner.
