Chris and his team took care of us from Day 1 by redoing all of our Drainage underneath our home, including the Main Drainage from the house to the main-line. Not to mention installing an Earthquake shut off valve and having his team fix a leak as well.

I have respect for their hard work and they will let you know of any issues they come across too. Honestly, they called all the right reasons to fix up things and did a great job sealing the plumbing up correctly.

A MAJOR issue with our nearly 100 year old sewer pipe in our yard led us to Hard Hat Rooter and Plumbing. They were our first and only call!

From the initial call to the minute they left, this was a great experience. Responsive and respectful, they did great work and, save for having to wait for rain to stop, were done in impressive time! Pricing was fair, and communication was excellent.

I have already referred them and cannot recommend enough if you need any plumbing work at your place.

Spoke with the owner Ralph to fix a clogged sink problem. Immediately responded on a Sunday and had somewhere there within the hour. Although the problem was larger than we suspected it to be, we spoke and worked out a compromise to make me and them happy. Would use again forsure!

Woke up to my toilet leaking water all over the place. I frantically cleaned up and tried to tighten the bolts myself. That didn't work so I gave Hard Hat Rooter and Plumbing a call at 8:15.

Michael was here at 9:30 sharp and immediately fixed the issue (just needed a new wax ring). He checked for water damage under the tiling and checked to make sure there wasn't a blockage in the pipes underneath. He made sure the wax ring fixed the leak by flushing a few times. He also caulked the bottom of the toilet for us. Price was reasonable and worth the peace of mind. Michael was very speedy and thorough and left my bathroom very clean after he finished fixing the toilet.

Thank you Michael and thank you Hard Hat Rooter and Plumbing for the very quick fix - you certainly saved me a day of anxiety as other plumbers said they would not be able to get out here until later this afternoon.

Had a pipe burst in my home on a Friday night and was filling up in my laundry room and starting to leak out to the bathroom and hallway. I called Ralph and he sent over his ace Chris who quickly replaced the broken copper pipe and got our hot water going again. Our sewer drain was completely messed up and we got estimates for double what Michael ended up quoting us. Even when they found that the job would be a bit of extra work, Michael honored the original quoted price and you can tell these guys have integrity and pride in their work and customer service.

Michael, Luis, and Cesar were polite, professional, and communicated clearly through the whole process. Michael in particular kept me up to speed with texts throughout the day and notified me when I needed to come out to make decisions or to get additional information. This way, I was still able to have my virtual meetings and work from my office while they carried out the work instead of loitering outside. I wish Hard Hat Rooter and Plumbing offered more services because I would use them for everything!

When it came to paying, Ralph gave several payment options and even through some technical difficulties made things work. Great work and their name is in our file at home for the only vendor we'll go to for our plumbing issues!

I recently bought a home, and inspected the backyard sewer pipe during the inspection period with a separate firm (to remain unnamed). I was told the sewer pipe is misaligned, and that it would cost be $6,700 to fix the problem - and that I should not wait to solve it, otherwise it may become a $20,000 problem.

Just from going through the inspection process, and knowing that I should always get a second opinion (after being screwed over many times in my past), I decided to call another company for a quote.

After purchasing the home, I called Ralph at Hard Hat Rooter, and asked if he'd be willing to come out to provide a second opinion quote. He said sure thing, and came by the very next day.

He was very honest - he used his sewer scope for the assessment, and told us that it's a 50/50 chance that the issue may become a big deal down the line - but that it's NOT a major problem now. He said if it were his home, he'd wait and see, and maybe in 1-2 years we should call him to come back and check it.

Ralph just saved us $6,700 - which I know we may need to pay him down the line to fix the problem, BUT it's a relief that I don't have to pay that NOW (especially with all of the other costs we are incurring with the home).

Highly recommend working with Ralph - he's easy to communicate with, is very friendly, and will provide you with an honest assessment. That's all you can really ask for!

Our kitchen sink had a leak and technician- Michael came out and fixed it, while also replacing our faucet. Michael was very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He explained what he was doing and gave us helpful information regarding the issue. World's Greatest Plumbers. Hands Down. No Argument. I had a plumbing emergency at my house at night. This is the first place I called and I lucked out. Sewage smell coming from one of my downstairs Johnson's. Called Ralph at night, you could tell he was at home with his family, he knew we needed help and he came right over within the hour. We looked at my sewage inspection video from the purchase of the house and then he ran a camera down the clean out. He diagnosed the issue perfectly and we had his guy Michael at the house first thing the next morning. Michael was so easy to deal with, so smart, and fixed everything and then some! Worked his tail off, committed, and so professional. Problem solved and my overall plumbing at my house is in much better shape because of Ralph, Michael, and Hard Hat. Invoicing and payment process were easy and professional. Communication was perfect. They take their shoes off in your house or put booties on - even when you tell them they don't have too. I can't say enough GREAT things about this service. HARD HAT ROOTER came after hours and fixed everything and for a GREAT PRICE. A plumbing service you can actually trust that cares about the customer. Those are so hard to find. Well here they are!

Last month, we contacted Hard Hat Rooter and Plumbing to inspect a property for us as we were on Escrow with a tight inspection contingency. They accommodated our request on short notice. Michael, the technician, found an active leak in the garage ceiling that would've cost at least $3000 to fix among other repairs needed. He also informed us that the situation might be worse once he opens up that ceiling - the leak could be worse, there could be mold, etc. Thanks to his diagnosis and report, we were able to bring this up to the seller, who was unwilling to meet us halfway and decided to cancel the sale instead. To this day, that property is still on the market which is very weird since every property is getting snatched up pretty fast nowadays. We were very happy to have avoided the headache!

We're on Escrow for a different property now (which we love so much more than the last one, btw) and of course, we called Hard Hat again. Our inspection is tomorrow. Hopefully, no surprises this time but if there are, we totally trust Michael to find whatever it is so that it gets addressed right away. What I like the most is that the owner is very responsive.

My experience with plumbers is they tend to no show with no warning. However, I was pleasantly surprised when the owner picked up when I called and updated me on the status of my call.

The plumber himself was very nice and answered all of my hubby's questions. He tends to ask a lot.

Overall, good experience and would definitely call/use again.

Hard Hat has completed a few jobs for me. I've worked with techs Mike and Eduardo. Fantastic guys, who work for a great company.
- First time was installing a bypass valve on a leaking water softener so we could turn the water off (to replace the softener) and still keep water going to the house. Smooth, and no problems.
- Second time was super dirty job of exploring an exploded fridge water line that caused mold damage. They found the source, and stopped the leak.
- Most recent job was rootering a clogged kitchen sink drain/replace some damaged pipe. Great work. Very happy customer.

Water had stopped running to my back yard. The irrigation, the hose, everything dry as a desert.

The guy from Hard Hat Rooter and Plumbing came by to give me a quote. I walked him through our water lines, starting with the back yard, working our way towards the street. He points to a valve that was suspiciously shut off. Is this stopping the water from going to your back yard? Why, yes. Yes, sir. It is indeed. We opened the valve. The problem was solved.

I had sink that needed to replaced - a job that required moving plumbing from an unusually high old fixture to a more standard setup. I priced out the job, and Hard Hat provided a very reasonable quote. Having previously had a good experience with them, I brought them on. I'm remodeling my house and I totally forgot that I need plumber.
When the cabinet and new sink was done I just noticed that I need plumber to have my water back.

Highly recommend them. They were professional, courteous, and very helpful. They came out to unclog our kitchen sink. They were very thorough in diagnosing and unclogging the problem.

Our house is very old and we had been fighting slow drain in the kitchen for a long time. It got to the point where it stopped draining so I got quotes from a few places but settled on Hard Hat Rooter because of the number of positive reviews. Rueban sent AJ to our house the same day. AJ discovered that his snake was not effective (meaning my problem was much worse) at clearing the blockage. He called Rueban to come by and access the problem. They discovered that the pipes to my home were not optimally laid out therefore the pipes weren't able to properly drain. It was a really big greasy mess! In any event, they recommended and completed a Hydrojet and replaced the broken disposal.

All in all, an amazing experience. White glove service from an honest business with fair prices.

We had new copper pipes installed throughout our house and a new main water line. As well as some adjustments made to a gas pipe inside, an earthquake shutoff valve for our gas, and an installation of an ice box for our refrigerator. It's with great pleasure that I'm writing this review for
Hard Hat Rooter & Plumbing.
They just fixed 2 huge problems in my home and I'm very grateful to them.
I have been widowed for 6 years and my husband used to take care of all the plumbing problems that came up in our home thru the years.
I had no idea what to do when I started hearing loud gurgling noises coming out of my kitchen sink. It also filled up with dirty water every time I used my washing machine.
They share the same wall in between them and the same pipes. The washing machine is in the garage, right on the other side of my kitchen sink.
I called my home warranty company, American Home Shield, and they sent a plumbing company over who was far less than enthusiastic about wanting the job. I did NOT feel good about our meeting at all, or what he said AHS would, and wouldn't do.
I decided not to use AHS and Googled other plumbing companies. After reading stellar reviews, I called
Hard Hat Rooter & Plumbing.
I'm SO happy I did.
From my first phone call with Ariga in the office, I knew I found the right company.
She was extremely warm and kind, and really listened to the problem.
She set up an appointment immediately and sent Michael
(the plumber), over to assess the situation. He's fantastic !!!
It turned out to be a broken main line drain and would be a big job and very involved. The old original galvanized pipes would have to be removed and replaced with brand new plastic pipes.
The wall would have to be opened, concrete broken up and my front lawn dug up.
I was so anxious just hearing about how extensive this would all be.
The owner of the company,
Ralph, came to my home and completely reassured me that they knew exactly what to do and would take the BEST care of everything. He was so polite and such a gentleman, I agreed to hire them. I also thought he gave me a very fair price for the job.
Michael and Cesar did the work and they were absolutely excellent. They were always so nice and answered every question I had.
They also worked clean and took great effort to make sure everything around their work was protected and safe.
I was especially concerned about boxes of my husband's belongings getting wet or damaged and told Michael,
who then took even extra care with them.
Very sweet.
I was so impressed with the result, that I hired them again this past week to fix a major problem in one of my showers.
This time, the plumber was Eduardo. He was also SO professional, excellent and kind.
This is a wonderful company, and everyone there is honest, nice and absolutely great at what they do.
I whole heartedly recommend them and would definitely use them again if something came up.

These guys were great and fixed a persistent leak in my ceiling that 3 other plumbing companies couldn't ever find (including Fisher Plumbing who left a hole in our ceiling and stopped returning calls.)

1. They sent Michael who dutifully diagnosed the problem, alerted me of all associated costs. Michael listened and reserved judgement until he had tested all the factors himself.

2. When the solution looked to be costly, he called in supervisor Ralph to give a second opinion. Ralph was also a total pro - complimented Michael on how carefully he'd put down drop cloths to catch the mess - then diagnosed the problem himself, agreeing with Michael's conclusions.

3. They tried an odd-ball workaround that involved adding additional wax seals to our toilet and flange - it worked!

Hard Hat diagnosed a very tricky problem and provided an extremely workable fix that saved us about a thousand dollars! I'm pleased to have found my new plumber!

The burner assembly on my water heater failed on me one Tuesday morning, so I looked up local plumbers on the web and gave Hard Hat a call at about 7:30 AM. They picked up immediately and within two minutes made an appointment to send a technician out that day at noon. They contacted an hour later and said they had a technician who could come at 10:30 if I preferred earlier, to which I agreed and they were on time in a company van with their logo on it.

The technician they sent was named Michael, he was very polite and cordial, but also very knowledgeable and accommodating. I explained to him my problem and what I needed done, he looked my water heater over and gave me a quick and honest quote on the work. I was very impressed by Michael, he didn't charge me until the work was done and he was very thorough, I never got the sense that he was in a hurry or cutting corners. This guy was legit.

He informed me I was still under warranty and contacted the manufacturer for me, they would not send a replacement tank but did agree to send a replacement burner. It arrived the next day and I called him to let him know, he agreed to come by an hour later and once again was right on time. He installed it, checked for leaks, and gave me very clear advice for water heater maintenance. As far as plumbers go, he was definitely a nice fellow and concerned for the consumer.

If you're reading this Michael, I'd like to say thank you, you have my respect. As for Hard Hat Rooter and Plumbing, I'm going to call them immediately about any other plumbing issues or related topics, they were professional, close-by, and affordable. I'd describe them as straight-shooters, an honest company which is a rare find.

Save your money and don't go anywhere else!!! Not only my call was answered in an ungodly hour of 5 am(I was calling to leave a message). I was told by numerous companies to just get a new toilet and replace the old one (spent a lot of money paying for their service charge - 175$ per I can't do it.

We've had a consistent problem of an overflowing line, which Chris came over and diagnosed in a very understandable manner before arriving soon afterwards to hopefully suction out the gunk. His concern was to how to settle this problem economically as opposed to proposing thousands of dollars that could be spent, which is unusual in the best way as that tends to be the nuclear option that many plumbers might otherwise push. Very satisfied with their service and shall definitely use them again, though hopefully not for a long while!

Our problem: roots blocking our pipes from our house to the main line sewer. The solution: Hard Hat Plumbing. We called in the morning and Francisco showed up shortly to do a camera inspection and he showed us the problem then scheduled the work to be done. The owner Raffi was great with communicating the whole process and cost with us. Francisco and Jesus were the main techs who did the job and they were excellent! They were hard working, knowledgeable, thorough and respectful of our home. They do such clean work and it was as if there was no trace of them being here when they finished. Other techs came for their part to install the pipe/sleeve who were so fast and efficient, I didn't get a chance to ask their names. All the techs displayed such great teamwork which made this a less stressful process for us. Bonus: they showed us a camera inspection of our pipes after the work was done. No more roots! My main-line started to back up on Saturday (4/18/20). It was not a pretty sight. Called Hard Hat and Raffi (owner) answered the phone on my first attempt. He sent one of his guys within the hour. His worker was professional and clean (wore booties). He snaked the main-line in a timely manner and left the work site clean.

Maybe the clog was more severe and further down the line, but the main-line backed up again on Sunday (4/19/20). I called Hard Hat and told Raffi about my situation. He, the owner, showed up in an hour to run the rooter again. ON A SUNDAY AND DID NOT CHARGE FOR THE TRIP.

Being a general contractor, I understand the value of customer service. I also know it is not easy to pull yourself away from your family to take care of business on a Sunday.

Hard Hat was professional, friendly, and went the extra mile for my complicated water heater replacement. Inexplicably, the wall had been built (after the old water heater was installed) with a little door to allow for temperature adjustment, etc., but not enough room to remove the old and put in the new!

Michael arrived within one day of my call, explained the problem, then summoned Francisco (Hard Hat's licensed plumbing contractor) to help explore my options. These guys worked well past dinner time, carefully considering a variety of options, finally narrowing it down to the two least expensive: 1) get someone to build a larger door 2) install a tankless water heater, routing the condensation and vent lines through the crawl space to the other side of the house. (The shortest route to the outside would have been through a very thick supporting wall, which would not be safe to cut into.) Quite expensive either way!

The following work day, Raffi, the owner, searched the internet and found a tankless model that could be installed without separate condensation or vent lines routed to the other side of the house. This made the cost comparable to hiring someone to cut through the door, and leave my tenant with a nice tankless water heater. In the meanwhile, however, I had found a carpenter, and decided to build a new door, using it as a an spring board to spruce up my tenant''s very dated kitchen.

The Hard Hat guys even drove to Santa Clarita to pick up the only location with the tank model I wanted! (It was not in stock anywhere closer.) After the water heater installation, which was efficient and flawless, a secondary problem arose with the kitchen faucet, which was now clogged with debris dislodged by the force of the air in the pipes as the new, beautiful and larger water heater started up. Michael arrived promptly to solve that.

Throughout, the team has been nothing short of professional, efficient and helpful. I even got some great advice from Francisco on another matter unrelated to plumbing!

I own an older home in Los Angeles. Over the past 2 years I've used this company a number of times and have always been pleased with the professionalism, the cost and the quality of the work from the first phone call to the end of the job. They are my one and only plumber from now on. This is a top of the line company. About 2 years ago I had my sewer line replaced which I knew had been going bad for many years and they confirmed it. Because of the reasonable price they quoted I went ahead and did it. They did an excellent job, they came on time, cleaned up before leaving, and they even sent me pictures because I couldn't be there during the day. My experience with this project was very good, which was a pleasant surprise. Since then I've had them replace my water service line from the house to the meter, repipe my house completely, and replace my water heater. It was a big project and I was nervous but I knew it needed to be done. I received 2 other estimates that were much much higher then theirs. The entire job was done on time, as estimated, and with an awesome bunch of guys. Edwardo was the top guy and he was so easy to work with but I must say they all worked very hard to get the job done. I am absolutely impressed by this company which many others will tell you is not easy to do. Ralph your company is top of the line and I appreciate you and how well it is run from top down. Kudos to all of you. All Jobs Well Done!! I highly recommend this company.

I have been searching for a good plumber over the years. I had my toilet leaking in a rental unit and found Hard Hat on Yelp. They did not disappoint me at all. Appointment was made in 5 minutes. Ralph, the owner answered the phone immediately when I called this morning. In about 1.5 hours, despite a busy schedule, Ralph dispatched Michael to come fix my toilet valve. Michael was very kind and thoughtful, wearing cover ups for his feet, covered my floor with a blanket, checked my flushing, changed the valve and snaked the toilet quickly for a reasonable price and advised me in other plumbing issues. He was very concerned for me as I had an injury, too! What a keeper!

Fast, easy, friendly and efficient service. They used an iPad for my signature and emailed my receipt to my husband and me, so no wasteful mess of paperwork thankfully, which is a bonus.

I would highly recommend their services and was pleased what a pleasant experience it was to work with them. That's something that doesn't happen every day! Thank you Michael, Ralph & Hard Hat Rooter!

My water heater stopped working, but parts were still under warranty. I replaced the thermocouple myself, and GE sent me the master control valve, but it was a bit more than I wanted to take on myself.

My in-sink disposal decided to die and leak in the middle of Christmas Day. Did a Yelp search the day after and got a super-fast response from Hard Hat. They could even come out same day (I had them come the day after). Michael showed up on time, checked the situation, showed me what the problem was and was able to install a new disposal right away. He educated me about the new unit and even tidied up under the sink beautifully. Couldn't have been nicer or more professional. Hard Hat Rooter and Plumbing is great! We had a gas pipe leaking issue which was identified by a gas company. After a company's technician fixed it, a second place started leaking. After fixing the leak, the same technician identified another issue. They recommended re-routing or repiping the whole house. Money was spent, time was wasted, and the leaking issue was still not resolved.

We called Hard Hat Rooter. Ralph responded quickly. Sent an eligible technician out the next day, fixed the issue and replaced the water heater. After my experience with two very different companies, I highly recommend Hard Hat Rooter for the following reasons:
1) Management - Ralph and Eduardo (the technician) and us are all on the phone together. There is no miscommunication on pinpointing the issues and pricing.
2) Communication - Both Ralph and Eduardo are quick in responding. Even if they are busy, they will let you know when they will be available.
3) Visual Aid - Eduardo texted detailed photos and videos to help explain the problem.
4) Honesty - They will not guess what the issue is unless they see it. In our case, the water heater needed to be removed in order to see the leak.
5) Creative problem solving - re-routing and repiping was not needed because the leaking area was no longer used.

This is the first time I ever wrote a review for any company on Yelp. I ended up spending money on both companies, but I am so glad we found Hard Hat Rooter and Plumbing.

Hired this company to replace a toilet due to a leaking valve. I went ahead and bought my own model in Home Depot as I wanted to see it myself, but it turned out I bought something way too big. Francisco the technician was totally unfazed: not only did he pick it up for me from Home Depot and delivered it to my home, he also repacked it and took it back which was super helpful, and the store issued me a refund. We replaced just the valve for now instead and he was quick and efficient. I will continue working with this company to finish my project, as they are very professional and courteous. You won't get a plumbing team better than this. Raffi and his guys are professional, dependable, on time and definitely take the trouble to troubleshoot everything thoroughly. By the time we had Raffi over we had gone through 3 other plumbers who could not diagnose the loud noises coming out of our pipes in our condo building. During the first visit Raffi was not satisfied that the pressure regulator he had brought to replace our old one was doing good enough of a job so he made a few calls to find out what other options we had. Our problem is basically the very high water pressure in LA coming into our building. So we needed a commercial sized regulator. In order to install this the pipes needed to be sawed and soldered. It took three men but finally the job was done, we had no more noises and the pressure in the building is amazing. Raffi and his team are also good at following up after the job was complete as they want to make sure everything is working perfectly. You are in the best hands with Hard Hat!

I have to say working with the team at Hard Hat Plumbing was amazing. We had a main sewer blockage that I discovered late afternoon and Raffi had his technician Michael out within an hour more like 30 minutes. Michael was amazing and a great representative of the company cleared the blockage and cleaned the area which was a very pleasant surprise. He was so professional that I felt at ease and didn't feel I had to even ask what it was going to cost. The price was very fair considering especially that I considered it an emergency. The cost was what it would normally be no excessive amount due to the fact it needed to be done right away. Pleasant surprise number one. Michael sent his team back the following day to run a camera down to diagnose what the issue was and did that at no charge. We knew we had an issue that had been there for years and the job was a big one. I spoke to the owner Raffi about it and how to fix it and he explained it and narrated the camera video explaining it thoroughly and came in at a fair price. 4 days later the team came to do the job and let me tell you each team member knew exactly what to do and had the job done in one day with very little down time on the facilities. The second day was just to fill in the holes and compact the dirt. I have to say unless you knew they did the job there were no signs of such a major job being done. This is the plumber you always wish you could find. Do not hesitate to try them you will be 100% happy. We have found our go to. This is a family owned business and they know how to treat people. We have had so many horrible experiences with plumbers in the past that this was so refreshing. Raffi had picks and clearly trains his people well. A special shout out to Michael he is such an asset to the company and was kind, professional and trustworthy. Raffi is awesome too and frankly the whole team was I didn't catch the other workers names or I would personally thank them also. This is my go to plumber 100% now! I am beyond pleased by the service I have received from Carlos. Found them on Yelp of course. Within a day Carlos came out and fixed the 1st problem. We found out the problem was bigger than the initial call problem. He was kind, courteous & very informative. We agreed on a huge repair to be done the next day. Within 1 day the entire mainline pipe under the house was changed & done.

Workers were clean & efficient. I would trust this company with any plumbing issue for the future and all my family & friends to be referred to. The pricing was Super fair. What really touched my heart & amazed me was how Carlos went above & beyond his job description & the initial job to do a few things he did not have to. I am beyond impressed at how he kept his word & again went above and beyond to ensure everything was done & then some.

I called early on a Saturday and within a couple of hours a technician arrived at my apartment. Michael provided excellent service. My mother's toilet in Glendale, CA had an incident Monday evening, Memorial Day weekend and we needed to get a plumber on ASAP. Luckily her condo maintenance crew did shut off the water to the toilet. I believe I was on Yelp that night once I found out from my sister in San Diego that Mom needs help. I live in Temecula, CA. Luckily, Yelp has a top 10 list of plumbers and I was able to get in touch with Rafi, the owner, who scheduled Eduardo, the technician, who was at my mother's condo between 11-12 on Tuesday. According to my mother and her caregiver, Eduardo was very efficient, thorough and professional. He wore a mask, gloves and booties during this time of COVID-19.. I commend the great customer service of Rafi, Eduardo and Ariga at the office. They emailed me the invoice and credit card receipt for my records. We have a sewer line that had been problematic for over 15 years, routinely backing up and difficult to snake. This time around, we were completely stopped up. We just bought a new house and not less than 12 hours later the plumbing backed up out the showers and toilets! We happened upon Hard Hat through the home warranty company we purchased. Had a leaky shower for the longest time that was costing us money, so we finally decided to get it fixed. Sent a few messages to different plumbing services and these guys responded the quickest and with the best offer. A free estimate and then same day fixing. Being the owner of a nearly 100 year old house you need to have good contractors for when you need them. Hard Hat has been my go to for 3 plumbing events in the last year. Always responsive and thorough for each project. Old leaky pipe in the yard? Done. Hot water heater dies? Done. Failure of old sewer system? Done. The guys keep you informed of the costs and scope of work as they go, making sure we were comfortable with what they were doing before they started any work.

The sewer job was handled as quickly as they could even coming out on Easter! They are coming back to finalize the job in the AM but they got the system back and cleaned up so we could start using it as soon as possible.

Both Raffi and Carlos have handled jobs for us and we are very pleased with their polite, straight forward way of doing business.

I never write yelp reviews, but I couldn't help myself this time. I spent so much time researching and getting quotes from different plumbers to do a hydro-jetting for the building I manage. Francisco from Hard Hat Rooter and Plumbing came out right away and gave me by far the best estimate. When he came out to do the hydro-jetting he noticed that there was a blockage further down the sewer line (further than most plumbers usually go when the hydro-jet). He used a snake camera to go hunting through our sewer line to find the problem and discovered that the sewer line that runs from the edge of our building and underneath the sidewalk and parkway to connect with the city's sewer line under the street, was severely damaged and on the verge of collapsing. He showed me the video so I could see it for myself. Keep in mind, we've had other plumbers do hydro-jetting before and none of them have ever bothered to check out our sewer line past the edge of the building, which is why no one ever caught this problem before. In fact most other places would charge you extra to use their snake camera to inspect the pipes. Francisco did this at no additional charge, he did this purely because he suspected there was a problem while they were hydro-jetting. Talk about going above and beyond! We are so lucky he caught this problem! Instead of spending $35,000-$50,000 to repair the broken line he helped us get ahead of the problem and was able to install a new sewer line directly underneath the old one for a small fraction of the cost. He and his crew installed the whole thing in one day. They were friendly, fast, efficient, trustworthy, and left the place in great shape, not to mention they saved us tens of thousands of dollars. I can't recommend their work enough! I will definitely be using them for all of my plumbing needs from now on.

I highly recommend Hard Hat Rooter and Plumbing. It is a first rate company. They responded to our call immediately and quickly analyzed the problem. It was determined that because the plumbing in my Glendale, CA, property was so old we had several options, replace the horizontal lines until we were ready to replace all the plumbing, or replace the whole house plumbing. Rafi walked me through the problem by phone and explained the solutions in detail. He quoted me different prices for each option, which were very fair, and I decided to do the whole house, this meant they would have to go into the walls, a big job!

The job was started the next morning with Carlos in charge. By this time I was in California. Carlos and his crew provided superior work. He was thoroughly professional and performed the work with skill and efficiency. He was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond the call of duty with a great attitude. I cannot say enough good things about his thoughtfulness and courtesy. The job was completed in two days due to additional work performed by them while here. They did an excellent job.

Had a great experience with Francisco who I requested for a quote on the clogged drain running from the house to the sewer system on the street. Told him another plumber had already snaked the drain that morning and used their camera to locate the partial clog, with the recommendation to dig out the drain and replace a portion where roots had entered. Francisco was willing to scope the drainage pipe, too, just to verify location of the clog, which job normally costs $250, but offered it for free, so he could validate the type of work needed to be done. He then quoted a very reasonable price. Although we decided to defer the job, since the drain was now partially unclogged, I will certainly keep him in mind when we do decide to go ahead with it. I found Francisco to be a friendly, honest person great to deal with.

Hard Hat, and in particular the plumber Daniel, was the best experience I've had with a vendor in a long time. They were incredible. Not just prompt, courteous, clean, knowledgable, and articulate, but at the top of the scale on all of those traits. CALL RALPH FIRST! You will never want or need another plumber again. We have had problems with our sewer line from the house to the street for months. We have had several different companies out to unplug the line and to give is a bid on a repair.Their cleanout failed in weeks-
Ralph and his men from Hard Hat could not have done a better job. They scoped and showed the video of the bad line. We had had it rooted 2 weeks earlier by New Generation. There were many roots still in the line after they finished.
Hard Hat cleaned and rooted the line proberly. Gave us a good bid with a long warranty and repaired it in 2 days. They were kind, clean and respectful . They send us a video of the new line and the connection to the street. They also looked at some other small problems inside and are going to be fixing them as well. Their prices were the lowest, but more than that, they were so kind and concerned. Other plumbers were hustling and way overpriced and rude when we said we would have to think about the project. 5 stars is not nearly enough!!! This company, and in particular Ralph, were so incredibly fantastic to work with from top to bottom. I reached out for a quote to have a ton of plumbing repair work done to a home that we just bought and Ralph responded right away, was very reasonably priced and had his crew out to complete all of the work in just a day's time. We love these guys. They're honest, hardworking, very professional and super nice. Their prices are always reasonable. We've been using them for plumbing and rooter work for about 2 years now. We have a really old home that had really old galvanized pipes. They are the only guys we call and they've been really really good to us.

Raffi (Ralph) and/ or Carlos always come over within a few hours of any emergency. No job is too small. And in the last two weeks we had a busted pipe that led to doing a copper re-pipe of the whole house. As usual they did an awesome job and they managed to assemble a crew to start on the re-pipe the next full day after we discovered the leak. And they made sure we were never left without water overnight. They also wrote a very detailed report for us to send to insurance/ LADWP.

Someday we will have them do our whole sewer line as well.

I've used Hard Hat plumbing Two more times since I wrote my last review, and I love them more and more each time. For the last two plumbing issues, Carlos has come out. He is so professional, so sweet, and doesn't put a band aid on the issue, he fixes them for good. Carlos shows up when he says he's gonna be there and he also cleans up after he's done. It's little things like that that speaks volumes to me. If you are looking for a plumber that fixes the problem the first time around, shows up on time, is very kind, and cleans up after he's done, Carlos at Hard Hat plumbing is your man. 4/4/2015 - Raffi and Carlos came out to my rental property to snake a laundry drain. He did an excellent job running the snake through and clearing out any blockages. He also tested the clearance by running water through the drain to ensure that water was no longer backing up.

Again, I'm appreciative that Raffi went out of his way to make any wrong a right. I also appreciate the way he runs his business in a professional manner.

Had an emergency clog in the main line from flushing some food (big mistake). Called these guys and they came out within an hour and had it uncloged shortly after. The technician Michael did a great job and explained everything as he went. Very professional. Asked if he should remove shoes before coming in. He let me know that it was the main line after seeing debris in the shower that I had missed. He also told me if he could not unclog they would do a free camera inspection. Would recommend!

When I call a plumber (or an electrician, HVAC repair person, etc.) I have come to expect a hassle. You know, they're late. They don't show up at all. Or they do both. So, when I experienced NONE of these problems with Hard Hat, I decided to do something I seldom do-- write a review.

First, Raffi was on time. Raffi promptly scoped out the problem and come up with a plan for fixing it. The work was professional and the price reasonable.

I wish that all the plumbers, electrictians, HVAC people, etc., were as Responsive, Responsible and Reasonable as this company. I HIGHLY recommend them.

I recently had a drainage problem with my house and did not know what to do. I called one plumber who attempted to snake the drain out and left an utter mess of the pipes under my house. I didn't get the problem fixed and soon discovered that sewage was leaking into the basement of my house!

After being screwed by the first guy, I was very cautious about finding a trustworthy and capable plumbing service.

The two men who came to the rescue went by the names Carlos and Ralph. These guys were the friendliest and most professional plumbers I have ever met. Carlos' motto throughout the process was that instead of trying to explain the problem you are experiencing, he can show you.

Thanks to a fancy-schmancy camera they had, the problem with the piping under the house was quite evident. The cast-iron pipes, over a hundred years old in the basement, had nearly rusted completely shut, and a section of the pipe had rusted away. Considering that the piping in the house is over 100 years old as the house was built in 1903, it wasn't half bad that the old metal pipes had lasted that long.

However, the bigger of my problems lay under my driveway where the main sewer line had become offset before it reached the city main sewer pipe. The line had ruptured and had allowed sewage to back up into my basement. I was amazed at how quickly and skillfully these guys worked, being able to resolve my problems in just a little more than one day (on a Saturday!).

I was also impressed with their knowledge of city municipal codes regarding piping and homeowner responsibility regarding piping inside and outside the house.

For the extent of work done, it was a pretty penny to be paid at the end of the day, but after talking with others about the type of work done and the costs of repairs, these guys are fairly priced and you can count on them to do an excellent job, getting it done right the first time! My family has been burned by shady, uncertified plumbers in the past, but now I know and will always recommend these guys whenever someone asks me if I know a good plumber.

tl;dr Call these guys, they do an awesome job, are really friendly, get it done right the first time, work quickly, and are fairly priced.

I wish I could give them 10 stars, really.

When I got a call yesterday from Glendale Water & Power at 1PM telling me that my meter has been running for the past 48 hours, channeling 240 gallons of water an hour (yes, two HUNDRED and forty gallons) - I was freaking out. I couldn't leave work, and my fiance was stuck in San Dimas.

I scoured Yelp for a reliable plumber and found Hard Hat. I called Raffi/Ralph? and he answered on the first try (first good sign). I explained my dilemma, even telling him I might have to mail him a check seeing as I won't be home. He doesn't care, he just wants to get to my property and help me out (second good sign).

Long story short, Raffi was seriously God sent - he worked really hard to find the leak and fix it; nobody was home, and he wasn't even worried about how I would pay him! He replaced a valve for the irrigation system (the culprit!) and everything was back in order by the time I got home. He even crawled under the house to make sure nothing was leaking there.
I also feel like this is worth mentioning - but Raffi is generally a great person to be around! While he was waiting for the glue to dry on the replacement part - he helped me and my fiance locate the switch to our pool lights, which we haven't been able to find since we moved in 5 months ago. Plus, we laughed over how nosy my neighbors were, it was great - he was like a friend over for dinner (given the daunting task to fix a leak!).

Extra points for: being super reasonably priced and being willing to write a letter so I can submit to GWP and not be charged for the leakage.

Since moving into my new place, I've naturally had to hire the services of a lot of contractors, plumbers, electricians etc. I've worked with 2 other plumbers and have never been impressed with their services, but with Raffi on our radar, there is no way we'd call anyone else! So glad we have found a reliable plumber!

Call them! You won't regret it!

I'm in an older home, and the main cleanout gets clogged with roots and grasses every two years, like clockwork. We woke up on a Saturday morning to find all our drains stopped up. Most plumbers weren't available on weekends, so we gave Hard Hat a call, and they sent someone over within just a couple hours. These guys are pros. Around 9pm my water heater went off so it wasn't producing heat. My neighbor came to help me but we couldn't turn it on so I called Hard Hat Rooter. Ralph answered and told me the cost and explained the after hour rate. When I hesitated, he offered to call me back and FaceTime to troubleshoot the issue with me. 10-15 mins later, he calls me back and walks me step-by-step via FaceTime.

Ralph is an honest and helpful guy. You can tell he genuinely wants to help you and cares about his customers. I've added Ralph to my contact for future reference. I called these guys around 6pm and by 6:30pm Carlos was at my door. We had a real weird mickey mouse plumbing system with a really bad thick clog. Carlos worked on it for a couple hours. He tried with three different systems and took out the toilet to get to the piping, and finally, he got to the source. We were able to learn after years in this house that our downstairs bathroom doesn't feed to the same main line as the other. A huge and valuable lesson!

I live in Silver Lake. Finding a great plumber with fair and reasonable price seems improbable if not impossible. No friends could refer one. I assumed they were extinct.

So I placed a number of rather desperate calls to plumbers in the top ten on Yelp to get HELP! ASAP! for a main line sewer blockage which was about as miserable as you think it could be - toilets unusable, sewerage overflows pouring into the garden, family wailing in distress from the inconvenience and stench. I quite was vulnerable, after my own 8-hour two trips to Home Depot ordeal at saving the day by renting a snake and relentlessly trying to fix the problem myself, working into the night in muck, swearing at an un-neighborly level and failing, ever so miserably - so publicly. Once I gave up, I then tried approx 6 highly ranked yelp and google plumbers in a cocktail of panic, desperation and self despair. Three companies I heard nothing back from, and three called me back: One company quoted 3x times the price of these guys for the exact same treatment, and the other insisted I needed a whole new sewer line and that quote was literally 35 times the price I paid to Hard Hat (and in my vulnerable defeated state, like a sucker, I almost believed them as they explained the very likely cause and effect resulting in the probable five figure sum I would now have to accept, if I wanted it really fixed properly).

Thankfully, the same afternoon, the two Hard Hat guys (who I chose based on their fair price quote and availability, arrived on schedule, diagnosed the issue within 20 minutes, set to work on the problem, worked diligently and showed me on the camera the blockage and the entire sewer line while they hydro jetted it and I watched them clear and fix the blockage and clean the whole line. Scepticim gone! They are for real! I paid a very reasonable price, I stayed clean, got a cleared and working sewer. Overjoyed!

It turned out the the tub stopper was halfway closed. Hard Hat Plumbing is the best!!!! We had a garbage disposal replacement job, and based on Yelp reviews, I called Hard Hat. But first, I shopped around for price and availability, and not only were they available right away but also had the best price. Michael arrived on time! He offered to wear booties over his shoes before he entered the house, without us even asking. He was professional and knowledgeable, and repaired the disposal in no time. It turned out we also had a slightly clogged drain, which he cleared as well. When all was said and done, Michael left the kitchen spotless without any mess despite the water and grime that came from the sink. Most importantly, he was so friendly and explained every step of what he was doing to our 5 year old son, who loves construction. The next morning, our son said he wants to become a plumber when he grows up! We couldn't ask for anything more, thank you Michael and Hard Hat!

We had a problem with our tub draining slowly...I called Raffi.....our house is 'older' and as it turns out many times with older homes the problem turned out to be much more serious than we originally anticipated...both Raffi and Carlos came out on this HOLIDAY weekend and fixed the issue and finished the job even though they had to work a lot longer than they originally had anticipated.

They work efficiently and CLEAN, which is VERY VERY VERY important to me...I like it when people respect one's home and they were ON TIME, which I also appreciated as well.

I recommend them highly. They are fair and efficient and always answer their phone or at least call back in a REASONABLE amount of time. They truly care about their customers and then some.

When I call a tradesperson (plumber, electrician, HVAC repair, etc.) I have come to expect a hassle, blown appointments and other problems. So, when I experienced NONE of these problems with Hard Hat, I decided to do something I seldom do-- write a review.

Raffi was on time (he actually got to my house a few minutes before I arrived, prompting a text from my wife saying the plumber's here-- what's your ETA.) By the time I arrived a few minutes later, Raffi had already scoped out the problem and come up with a plan for fixing it. The work was professional and the price reasonable.

I wish that all tradespeople were as Responsive, Responsible and Reasonable as this company. I HIGHLY recommend them.

Honestly this guy is amazing. He came to my house after one call late at night it was like close to 11pm. I had a clogged toilet in my upstairs bathroom. Raffi (the technician) worked very diligently to solve the problem.

Apparently, my daughter had tossed some toys into the toilet and it was clogging up all three toilets to the point where my downstairs kitchen ceiling light fixture was draining water once any upstairs toilet was flushed.

I mean this guy worked a miracle and got the job done at a price where no competitor I called (and believe me I called at least 6 places) could even come close too. Treated me like family and was really focused to get my house up and running to get my family back to normal.

I 100% recommend Raffi if you have any plumbing problem. This guy will FIX it!!!

Raffi and Carlos saved my house this week. After a plumbing emergency left me with a HUGE mess in my neighborhood, other plumbers were looking to charge me $10-20K+. Raffi was able to fix the problem for a fraction of that, without excavating the street - and did it all the same day. He had three sets of workers at my house within two hours, and they spent 8 hours there until 9pm and fixed the issue. Don't hesistate to call these guys. They are miracle workers.

Highly recommend Ralph and his team at Hard Hat Plumbers. I live in 100-year-old house with the original plumbing. My kitchen sink was backed up and I don't have a clean out. I called three of four other places and they could not come up until tomorrow due to the heavy rain. I contact Ralph and he had his technicians out within an hour of my call! His technicians called me when they were on their way, as per my request. When they arrived they were clean, well dressed guy, and very courteous. Daniel and Francisco came in and assessed my situation and quoted me a price before they began the work. The let me know that due to my houses age there could be problems, but they would do what they could. They were able to clean out my kitchen sink in about 20 min. They were so kind as to remove all my junk under the sink and put it back when they were finished. I had the pleasure to meet Ralph as he came to see how the job was going. I have lived in Glendale for a long time and never found quality plumbers. Now, I have Ralph and his team! I will be calling them the next time I have plumbing problems. Saturday 9am my bathtub refused to drain... and then both toilets backed up ... and then the guest bath started filling with water for no apparent reason... By 11am Carlos was here, by 1pm he was back with new equipment since the problem was pervasive roots in my pipes. I had a leak at my house and needed someone to help figure out where it was right away. Based on the incredible reviews Hard Hat has, I gave them a call. Ralph came out the same day and spent time with me to zero in on the source. He was able to pinpoint the leak, my backyard irrigation, but he doesn't do irrigation work so I will be talking to my gardener. However, even though he spent almost an hour working with me to find the root of the problem, he didn't charge me because he couldn't actually do the work. These guys are amazing! I called them late on a Friday afternoon to deal with an emergency sewer issue at our home and Carlos arrived one hour later. He assessed, explained the problem, gave me a quote and got to work quickly. After he started the job, he realized that the problem was worse (the company that had rehabbed our home didn't replace the cast iron piping in the ground on our 1922 home. He showed me the problem, explained the options and gave me quotes. We went with the long-term solution versus the patch job, which made perfect sense. Carlos and one of his guys were here the next day and completed the job so we had minimal disruption. He was knowledgable, timely, courteous and thorough. Hands down the BEST plumbing services I've had! I came home to a flooded sink, got on my phone and yelped for plumbers. I called a few places and they had RIDICULOUS pricing and some of the places wouldn't even give me at least an approximate quote and were just adamant about seeing the problem first. Okay sooo...my babysitter called me at work hysterical because the toilet was overflowing. I started panicking too because we had just redone our bathroom floors and didn't want it to have water damage. Carlos is a Rock Star!!! I have a rental property that all the drains were backing up and after talking to Ralph he said he could send somebody out between 2-4 that same day. Carlos his partner went out and determined there was not a clean out of the main sewer line so one would have to be put in to clear the lines. He said he could come back the next morning He gave me a really great price that I checked with a second quote so I called him back and he showed up on time and got to work. He found that there was crack in the cast iron of the main and we worked out a solution that was economical for me so he fixed the main and jet cleared and put a camera down the line to see what else is going on. He gets the rock star five stars because he also did a lot of free stuff because my pipes are so old - re-snaking the kitchen and the bath and shower stall - he didn't have to do that and most other plumbers I have worked with would not have done that! I made a bit of a fool of myself with our water heater; I couldn't figure out how to open the metal case, and with Thanksgiving coming up, didn't have enough time to deal with it myself. Ralph was very prompt and courteous; it turned out that a roof leak had put out our pilot light. I'm sure he gets really simple situations like mine all the time, but he was very polite, showed me how to fix the problem, and didn't charge a penny. I have fairly old pipes and every so often the toilet gets backed-up. This time around draino couldn't clear whatever was causing the back-up. Fairly short notice I called Hard Hat Rooter and Raffi responded - found them on Yelp. Although it was late in the day, Raffi said he would make a trip out, and sure enough when I got home from work he was waiting for me. He and his co-worker carefully brought in the snake and took great care to make sure that they took precautions to create as little mess as possible, which they also cleaned-up to make sure they left the bathroom as clean as they had found it. While I hadn't used Hard Hat before, if the situation arises I will definitely use them again. Bravo gents!

Just had Ralph stop by the house and I must say that I am VERY impressed. First off he showed up an hour early. Secondly, he still showed up at the house even though he had called me and i missed his call so he could have potentially driven all the way to a customers house that was not even there, but i am thankful that he did.

He was able to fix my garbage disposal immediately, and actually gave me the tool that he used to keep for my self and showed me what he did to fix the problems if it ever arises again.

On top of that, he ended up charging even less than what he had originally said it would cost on the phone, and then when I went to pat he took off an extra $10 after that.

Not to mention he was a very nice and friendly guy.

Are you serious?? Writing a review about rooting a main line? Now you know that must have been impressive. I did a yelp comparison and found Ralph's bid better than any of the larger companies for the hydrojet service. I really appreciate the fact that this is a small independent neighborhood business. But what compelled me to write this review was Ralph's attitude. He told me how he really likes his job...helping people in difficult situations and to see this guy working past daylight and still with a cheerful disposition. Carlos came out to our house on a Sunday on pretty short notice. He was right on time, and was very quick and efficient in taking care of a leak in the bathroom sink. He even helped me fix the curtains which had been put in backwards by the handyman the night before! I now know who to call when I need help with my plumbing problems.

I needed someone to help me install 4 bathroom faucets immediately! Ralph and Carlos came in immediately after I called. They worked together and did a wonderful Job and not to mentioned, their price was beyond realistic! Really happy with their service and I would recommend anyone trying them out! Recently our sink began to back up and not drain. We figured it required a simple snaking and found Hard Hat on Yelp. Called in the morning and they were able to have someone come out the same day. Turns out our drainage issues were not so simple, however the tech didn't give up (all the while attempting to be quiet as to not wake my napping toddler). He snaked the drain several times and even went under the house to check the pipes, taking video so I could see any problem areas. Finally the drain was clear and I was only charged the original drain clearing fee. They even called me later that day to help me with an unrelated air conditioning issue. Great, fast and efficient service. I'd definitely call them for future plumbing issues.

We called Hard Hat Rooter for a busted pipe underground for our parking lot at work. They showed up in a good amount of time and well prepared. They gave the best estimate out of 3 companies which I felt was a fair price. They got to work right away and were able to locate the pipe and repair it. Highly recommended for their knowledgable work and professional manner.

Carlos came to our house same day and unclogged our shower drain. The drain cover had stripped screws and I couldn't remove it, but he managed to get into the drain and unclog everything. Very knowledgable, personable and profressional. Will use again.

I have been having a plumbing problem for a very long time. My wife has always been complaining of the laundry backing up and in my kitchen sink over flowing. I wend to Home Depot purchased all of those sewer cleaners and none of them worked. I had no choice but to start researching various plumbing companies on line as well as on yelp. After calling around all of these 5 star yelp plumbers I felt like I was being up sold on different things. I finally came across Ralph, at Hard Hat Rooter. Wow, what a gentle fella. He truly cared about his work. ALWAYS ON TIME, and very professional. I truly recommend Hard Hat Rooter to every one. The name speaks volumes by it self. Going back to my story, after I informed him that other plumbers where selling me this and that he told me all I need is a hydro jet which flushes all of the debree from the clogged pipes. His fees are also more than generous. I highly recommend this company for your plumbing needs u will definitely be satisfied. I know my wife and I where really happy with him as well as his work.

BEST PLUMBER EVER! There are not enough wonderful things I can say about Ralph (Raffi). Awful sewage was seeping out of my tub on a Saturday night and the toilet was stopped up. With only one bathroom, this was a major problem. Got someone from Express Plumbing to come out right away and the guy couldn't even find out the clean out. He first estimated $1600 and then added another $900. I got a creepy vibe about the whole thing, so I got on yelp and found Hard Hat Rooter (which had excellent reviews). I spoke to Raffi that night and he said he'd be there first thing in the morning. And he was! The problem did turn out to be kind of a big deal, but Raffi took care of it at a FRACTION of the price of the first guy. And he found the clean out immediately. AND he changed the washer in my shower for free. I feel he was very honest and professional. And his prices are great. I recommend him to anyone!!!
