Best Garbage Disposal Repair in Chicago IL
Communication and organization is extremely poor. Had a plumbing and electrical project (seemed perfect for them), but they are very disorganized. They came out fairly quickly to see the work that needed to be done, but they then called me a few times after saying they were scheduled to come out even though they already did and then jerked me around for a week just to get a quote that still didn't have a breakdown which was mentioned in the notes of the quote they sent. This is also after calling and texting them numerous times to follow up on the days they promised to have the quote sent by.
Maybe they do good work when you can actually get ahold of them but I'd recommend you call multiple places at the same time and not wait around for them to get to you. They were also twice as expensive on electrical work as another well rated electrician in the area for the same work. Maybe keep your request for plumbing only.
My Recommendation:
Electrician - Highlight Chicago
Plumbers - Five plumbing, Rocket Plumbing
I wasn't going to add this but the unprofessionalism was uncalled for.
They wanted to charge $185 to come back out. I then had to walk them through why there was no need to come back. They then said fine no $185 and when I said no to them they said LMAFO. Completely unnecessary and unprofessional. Just skip them if you can.
Provided conversation pics so my response has nothing to hide. You could maybe argue my response was a little curt but I just had finished convincing them they still had not provided the breakdown right before that which was frustrating in itself. Maybe explains why they were reluctant to provide the breakdown since they were trying to sneak in unnecessary costs

Highly recommend for a variety of tasks! We've used Fixer for pluming and thermostat help and have been very pleased! They are the go-to solution for small jobs but bigger than DIY. Edgar was our fixer this morning and was great!

They gave us a fair price for a straightforward job and did it quickly. I would use them again.

GREAT WORK! Their prompt response to my request and the quality of work has been the best of any contractor I have yet to work with. I needed help with my circuit breaker, AC and switches - not only did he provide exceptional service but he also gave me great advice and tips on other projects I was working on. Mo, the owner, didn't just show up to do the job - he showed up to help and that was very clear in the pride he has for his work.

Our door was forced open and the frame was damaged. Al came over and fixed it to where you could barely tell it had been broken. It was quick and reasonably priced. I plan to use this company again for other projects we have.

Our experience with Fixer was great. Carlos came by to help us install a new smoke/carbon monoxide detector, and he was friendly, knowledgeable and very efficient. I happily recommend Fixer for your repair needs!

Robert came to my house for an HVAC issue I'm in my attic. He was very knowledgeable and provided a quote with a detailed explanation. He also provided other tips for my HVAC system. I would highly recommend oneStop!

Let me chime in with massive kudos for ABI Home Repair. I called and spoke with Billy about some electrical installation work we needed done. He came out that very afternoon. Great guy with a cheerful and awesome personality. He explained everything and told me what additional pieces I needed to buy in order to get the project started. And, because he had some time before his next appointment, he met me at the hardware store and helped me pick out the correct items. Later that day, he returned and completed the entire installation beautifully. We couldn't be happier. And I'm thrilled to have a go-to company to call when we need more work done!

Kevin is the best, I call him for any type of handyman work I need. He's always on time, does a good job and charges a fair price.

I can not recommend Kevin at Enigma Electrical more highly! He is a consummate professional, a kind person and a very talented electrician. I had an urgent project in my vintage condo with VERY old wiring, as my condo was going on the market and the electrical needed to be fixed on a Sunday. Kevin doesn't normally work Sundays, but he understood my dilemma and urgency and he rearranged his schedule to come and help me on his day off. He was not only comfortable dealing with a tricky electrical situation, but he was delightful to talk and laugh with. I couldn't be more grateful!

Joe has helped me out on numerous occasions over the last several years.
It seems like he is able to fix anything!! I have had plumbing, electrical, hardware problems.....you name it. He has always fixed it pronto.
Joe answers his own phone, and always shows up the same day altho it sounds like he is always fully booked. Amazing.
Strongly recommended.

Loved guy showed up in a mask. He was polite, efficient and prompt. I plan to have him do some work for me after the thanksgiving holiday.

I had Alex's team complete 4 projects. Two were done satisfactorily, but I could have done the other two MUCH better by myself. Check out the pics, especially the wall that they patched and painted. It's really unbelievable that they were going to leave it that way. I finally got them to put a new skim coat on top of the old one to try to smooth it out, but I'm not going to pay for these guys to come back to resand and repaint. I've decided to hire a professional instead. It will be worth it to not deal with Swanson's ever again.

I needed someone to hook up a new spa. I used to have a spa with 60 AMP service a few years ago and wiring (disconnected from the Circuit panel)) run to near the new spa which required 40 AMP service.
Patrick told me I needed to replace the 60 AMP breaker with a 40 AMP. I texted him a photo, explained it was a Siemens breaker box and asked him to pick one up on his drive to my house (Glenbard Electric was on his way and he would know what to ask for). Instead he showed at my house, up looked at the wiring outside and left to go shopping - I'm guessing he showed up first so he could start his billing clock.
After an hour or so of shopping, he returned and examined the breaker box then declared the work too difficult - he would need to cut away my wall where it joins to the ceiling. I asked if he would reassemble the wall that he felt he needed to cut away. Patrick explained that he was an electrician, not a carpenter and it would be my responsibility to patch up my wall/ceiling. I explained that I did not want to be left with a big ugly hole in my wall/ceiling to which he responded that I already had a big ugly hole in my wall. He explained that my job would take longer than he expected and a more important customer was waiting for him.
It was at this point that I asked him to leave.
$340 for a service call, 1+ hour for shopping, complaining and a 40 AMP GFCI breaker. Patrick completed no work but was quick to give me his invoice when I kicked him out.
I will never call this jerk again.
The upshot: I (a computer consultant) fixed the wiring that was too hard for Patrick:
I reset the junction box in the wall and restrung wires through conduit between the junction box and the circuit panel about 1 foot away. I did have to stand on a ladder and buy a fitting from Home Depot, but did not have to cut away the wall/ceiling. I bill my clients by the hour and have no problem paying for good service. However, I have little patience for someone who pads his bill and complains when the work is slightly more than trivial.
