Big Blue Plumbing came by on a Saturday to replace my garbage disposal and potentially clear up a clogged kitchen sink.  From the initial phone conversation until the very end of the service the company was incredibly professional and courteous.  They came to my apartment and were in and out in less than an hour.  The last plumber (different company) who worked in my kitchen left it a complete mess, but Big Blue did a great job keeping everything in order and clean - they even soaped my sink (which let's just say was not in the best of conditions).  All in all, I had a great experience with this company and would definitely recommend it to anyone in need of a plumbing company.  I've been on Yelp for years now, and this is my first review (yes, they were that great)!

Jodie, office manager, is on top of everything.  Every phone call is returned promptly.  I manage a large museum-lots of plumbing-and Consolidated Plumbing has been a pleasure to work with.  And I've been working with them for years.  Never a disappointment.  Can't say enough nice things about this company.

I'm not sure if all these reviews are authentic. We had a completely different experience with Frank. He kept complaining about his health and charged us $95 to tighten some screws and give an estimate.

Welter is the Man!  

I have an aging Buderus GB142 condensing boiler that has been having those old age boiler things happening. I had been using a local service with a monthly support agreement but recent experiences with under trained techs led me to search for someone more familiar with my boiler.
After having been quoted $4,900 to repair my boiler for error codes and inaccurate pressure readings from Company A, I contacted Welter and he came in and assessed a few problems. The issues were addressed efficiently, parts were replaced, connections were repaired the boiler was deemed ready for service and the total bill amounted to less than 20% of Company A.
Long story short, Welter is an experienced plumber, heating pro, with a positive attitude and excellent troubleshooting skills. Highly Recommend Welter for any heating / hot water issues.

Mike did all of our plumbing for a bathroom renovation, and all of the work to install a new heating system.  I would highly recommend him.

Very quick response, professional and stuffs of high quality. We have a broken pipe on the deck during winter. Called Tflow on Saturday morning and they schedule a visit early Tuesday morning. They diagnosed problem and got a long term solution instead of some cheap fixes.

Very happy with these guys. The owner, Leo, was quick in getting back to me this fateful morning, when we found the basement flooded with raw sewage--on a Sunday, of course. Communication was excellent: he told me he'd have somebody to my house in 2-3 hours. When some other emergency called his technician away, Leo called back immediately to let me know but told me I'd be the next priority, and I was.

They're not the cheapest, but I decided to go with them because I was worried about the age of my sewer pipe (my house is over 100 years old), and Z Plumberz is one of the few companies that have the latest technology to deal with old, damaged pipes.

When looking for help, I had read a horror story told in a review on another local plumber who damaged a sewer pipe while snaking it. Their insurance company refused to pay. The bad plumber apparently hadn't used a camera to assess the condition of the pipe to ascertain whether it was already damaged. So sue me, he told the person, who had to spend $10K on repairs.

I shared my concerns about that with Leo at Z Plumberz, and he told me that they wouldn't snake without first using the camera to make sure the pipes were in good enough condition. What if they  aren't? I asked him. He told me that his company has a way out of that problem: they use what's called trenchless sewer line repair, which is utterly awesome: it's a repair method that allows plumbers to repair your pipes underground, negating the need to dig out an entire trench. Absolutely do google that term - trenchless sewer pipe repair - if you have sewer pipe issues in an old house. Do be careful, though: one drain expert told us that a crooked plumber out of Saugus has been offering this type of service (it's pretty newfangled, and only about 3 plumbers in the area offer it, we were told) but was charging people the cost of photographing their pipes, claiming to show them images of clear pipes, but in actuality those were old photos of somebody else's pipes and hadn't done the work at all. He was convicted, we were told, but he's used 3 different business names, all based out of Saugus (sorry, legitimate Saugus plumbing/sewer pros!), so it wouldn't be surprising if he popped up again doing the same thing.

At any rate, my situation wasn't that dire. The problem wasn't with the pipe outside the house. Rather, My tenants or somebody else had flushed wipes - that horribly common cause of drain blockage. They got stuck in the drain trap, and the drain backed up. It was straightforward to fix, took an hour, and the cost was $290.

The technician who came - I think his name was Auden, perhaps - was equally professional as Leo, communicated really well, and was very informative. He did a lovely job cleaning up with his shop vac, though of course we had to get down there with a whole lot of bleach afterward, so that was our Sunday.

I'd highly recommend Z Plumberz. I would have also been happy with John's Sewer, I think. They  sent somebody in a really timely manner to suss out the situation, and he was great. The only reason I chose Z Plumberz was because of their ability to do trenchless repair if needed: a technology that even the John's Sewer tech said was cutting edge and top-notch.

I have never in my life met a team so passionate at their job.  We needed a water heater replaced in our house as well as some other areas issues looked at/fixed.  Once we called Landmark we were completely taken care of.  We were met at the house and provided options that ranged in prices (with no upset pressure), they educated us on current requirements for venting (3 duct to a now required 4 duct), as well as provided us some good insights into how the water system works in general.  Clearly knowledgeable.  The quote they provided was never exceeded and we were provided options when looking at water heaters.  We chose the one we wanted and before you knew it the team was at the house, early on a beautiful Saturday morning ready and eager to get to work.  The work was done beautifully.  Not only did we have a new water heater installed (which looks darn good I must say), they installed the new venting ducts as well as shored up ALL the pipes in the basement (something they certainly did not need to do): insulated this one, clamped down that one, checked the water pressure here and removed excess pipes there.  A dream team.  

Quoting and invoicing is done through FreshBooks which makes the entire transaction paperless and easy.  Pricing was unbelievably fair for the work done.

These guys have not only earned our trust, but have earned lifelong customers as well as references.

Our old central air unit was not working and my husband gave Green Energy a call and they arrived on time on the day we had scheduled.   Because we don't plan to be in our home long term we were looking for an inexpensive fix rather than replace the entire unit.  Matt was super understanding and offered us with reasonable priced options.  He was able to repair our unit at 1/5 of the cost of what we anticipated and he fixed it that day.  We highly recommend Green Energy!  We will go no where else for ongoing maintenance and repair of our central air.

We were working on a home renovation project in Somerville and needed a plumber to urgently move our boiler and water heater away from the area of the project. The boiler and water heater was newly installed, so we were very nervous about moving it and afraid of what kind of issues could come up. I researched for weeks and finally found these guys!! I called them and the next day they stopped by my house to asses the project. They then emailed me right after with a quote that was extremely reasonable. They were honest, fair, hardworking, and completed the project timely, smoothly, and with no issues at all. Everything was moved according to plan and we are so lucky to have found them! We are now able to go on with our home project. Thanks so much to both Scott and Clark for the wonderful work. Very trustworthy and honest. We are planning to have them over again for another project and looking forward to it. Hire these guys!!! They are the real deal!!

Pescatore is claiming to be out of business and refuse warranty repair for a $15k system they installed 6 months ago.

I cannot say enough positive things about this place.  I bought a home 3 years ago and so have had an opportunity to have a lot of plumbing issues go wrong. I first dealt with several plumbers who would show up late, do a shoddy job, and not return calls.  When someone recommended Baker Elman to me, I was hesitant to go with a bigger company because they would be a little more expensive... let me tell you... these guys are reliable, punctual, and do a beautiful job getting my plumbing issues fixed.  Not only that, but they are friendly and bend over backwards to make sure you are happy with their work.  The company is larger so it has someone answering the phone all the time, able to tell you when the plumber will be there, and you are never left hanging.  I HIGHLY recommend them for any plumbing needs!  A wee bit more expensive, but so very worth it.

Over the last few years I have used Bolivar Plumbing to do a few small plumbing jobs in my house. They are very nice people and are on time, or even early. I could never give enough praise to Chris and his sidekick. He is knowledgable, honest and friendly.I have never had any problems with them, at all. On the not so positive side, their hourly rates went up recently about $50.00 an hour. I know that they are in business to make money. I will still use them though. I trust them, and I have trust issues.

I had MacCo come out today to adjust my on-demand tankless hot water system. Ryan the tech was excellent. It was clear he knew what he was talking about, and he had the problem solved in a few minutes. After working on the main unit, he checked the water temperatures in all the faucets (two bathrooms, two showers, kitchen sink) and made adjustments until they were right. I asked Ryan a lot of questions, and he answered them all confidently, politely, and demonstrated his knowledge of the system. This kind of hot water system is new to me and now I know exactly how it works thanks to Ryan.
