Best Plumbing Repair in Boston MA
Friendly, professional, experienced, on time and excellently priced -- what more can you honestly ask for in a plumber?
We called Big Blue solely based on their good Yelp reviews when our hot water heater blew on a Saturday night, just a couple months after we'd moved into our first house. We knew the thing was on its last legs, but we still had never needed a home repair before, and thus had no idea who to call in a pinch. Upon the advice of Yelpers, we left a message for Big Blue and crossed our fingers.
Not only did Donna call back right at 9 a.m. Monday morning, she quoted us a better price than what friends had told us to expect from their plumbers, and assured us they would have someone out to us (we're in the West End of Malden now, about 10 minutes from Somerville) the same day.
It took until 6 p.m., but they still fit us in and had our hot water up and running again by 8 p.m. They even helped us troubleshoot ANOTHER plumbing problem in our basement at no extra cost, and spared us the expense of hiring another plumber to look at what ended up being a DIY fix. Not everyone will be that honest! Also, because the call finished up so late, the repairman refused to take our payment that evening since he wasn't going back to the office and he didn't want to risk losing our sensitive information. So they allowed us to call it in the next morning on a credit card, and mailed us a receipt promptly. I was impressed that they took that much care with our financial information.
We were overall very impressed and would readily use them again the next time we need a plumber. Highly recommended.

Greg was very responsive in returning our initial call and scheduled an appointment promptly. He was great about calling within 30 minutes of arriving. He did good work at a good price. We would definitely use Greg's services again.

Responded quickly, very professional and fixed a leak for a reasonable price. Would use again and definitely recommend!

Consolidated Plumbing is top notch. Mitch did a bathroom remodeling job for us with Doug Rausch as contractor several years ago. They gutted our bathroom down to the studs and completely remodeled it. Mitch's plumbing work was a work of art, and Doug's carpentry and tile work was excellent. We had done a previous bathroom remodel with another company, and Consolidated was far superior. We have made use of their plumbing services with Tommy since then, and we've been very happy with Tommy's work and Jodi's front office services. Thank you Consolidated!!!

Used Hinchey Bros to put in a new boiler. They scheduled me promptly and the service was great. The new unit is meticulously designed and puts my ugly basement to shame!
Will recommend as well as consider them my new plumber!

You need to know this company charges $185 / just to travel to your home so it cost me over $200 just for travel. I was not informed of this exorbitant rate and when I addressed this after getting the bill I was shut down. As a first time customer you would think they'd cut the rate a bit but they chose not to. Poor customer service

Jonny and his team were FANTASTIC! I have worked with other plumbing companies in the past and by far Rami & Sons were my best experience. I had a big leak and old pipes in my house and Jonny came by and stayed late figuring out the problem that I was having, he made me feel much calm and comfortable and more importantly, they did a GREAT job! My plumbing is working great now and he even recommended someone who could help me with other issues around the house. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a reliable company.

After calling a large number of plumbers in the area, we were referred to Welch Brothers from United Restaurant and we were thrilled with the results. Gary came out and gave us an estimate for the work, and then proceeded to answer any question I had over the next week. The work was completed when they said it would be and the plumbers that were here to do the work were extremely professional and polite. We have a new plumber for any future work and couldn't be happier.

Andrew quickly responded to my request online. Scheduling a site visit was easy. Once on-site, he swiftly diagnosed the problem was an outdated toilet, and gave great recs on buying a new one. With a new toilet purchased, he installed it in under an hour. Thanks for making this process straightforward and painless.

Frank has done an excellent job in my house. My water heater started a bad leak. I called several places, he was the only one who responded right away (no answering service). He was in my house in 15 minutes to check out the situation. The job was completed neatly and professionally, in about three hours (including a warehouse run). The price was more then fair, right down the middle of the already low estimated range. I would call him again in a heartbeat.

Our heat was out. I called the office at 10:15am. It is now 12:40pm and my heat is fixed!! Staff was polite and friendly. I couldn't be happier.

Always top customer service and reasonable prices. I have had Charlie come to our home on three different occasions over the past year and a half. The first two times was to fix problems created by another plumber. The last time was to install two faucet replacements and install a new garbage disposal. I have always been satisfied and would definitely recommend!

I had a leak in my hot water heater. I called 3 Plumbing/Heating places. Casper actually answered the phone. (1 place never called back and the other called back 24 hours later). Pat was able to get to my house later that day and replace the water heater. He was also very informative about the process and made sure everything worked when done. I'd certainly call them again in the future.

we had an oil burner service company for 20 years and the owner retired a few years ago. we thought we would never find that level of service again. we decided to convert to natural gas, and we used mainstream mechanical. we also installed a whole house generator. these guys do great work, are professional, and know their stuff! we are always assured that no matter what time of the year, day or night, if we have a problem they are there! we highly recommend mainstream. Unethical company. Installed my plumbing but it was not up to code. Bad news - stay away.

Though you may receive good service, you will pay through the roof, and then if you seek feedback on why the cost is so high, the owner will yell at you and berate you.
The service provided by Andrew Fodera, the plumber who provided my service was great. He was on time, respectful, answered questions and very helpful. However, you will pay through the roof for the service. Andrew came to my home twice for no more than an hour each time to assist with a leaky kitchen faucet and continuously running toilet. I was informed I needed to replace the kitchen faucet and he adjusted the chain in the tank and tightened some bolts. Andrew returned to install a new kitchen faucet that I had already purchase. The total for the two visits $791.96.
Feeling this was very high for two hours of work, I contacted Ron Pescatore to inquire about the bill and understand the charges. Only to have him yell at me on the phone and ask me repeatedly what I thought his time is worth. I indicated that I expected to pay a reasonable hourly rate, but am very surprised at 2 hours of time for the work provided totaled nearly $400 an hour. He continued to yell over the phone about the cost of his trucks and time to drive to my home stating more than an hour to drive each way.
Be advised, you are paying for labor, owners time to coordinate, drive time and god knows what else. I take responsibility for not getting a cost estimate prior, I have learned my lesson.
I will pay my bill, but I would recommend that no one hire this company, given the high prices and the treatment you may receive from the owner if you reach out to better understand the cost. Just know that with this company, you will pay through the roof for basic plumbing needs.

Mike has a very charming personality that wins you over, he leaves making you think - wow what a nice and honest man but then you realize that is all a facade. I asked him to come over to look at some corroded pipes. he said nothing was leaking so there was no problem. I told him our disposal wasnt working and that I wasnt sure if I needed to fix it since I dont use it, he said Oh its easy I said Ok.... He never told me Oh its easy, it will cost you $160 because I spent 1 minute of my time.
I have never interacted with a person who deceived me like this. He should have been upfront about the cost - and then I would not think this way. I dont trust him in my home and would advise you not to trust him in yours.

I used Crescent Plumbing when our furnace wouldn't start on a Friday afternoon. They sent someone on Saturday morning-very responsive but expensive. For a weekend visit plan to pay $245 minimum. In our case the plumber had to install another thermostat (that we had) because our Nest stopped working. The fee for this was $265, yikes. Thanks for being a 24 hour service, but for what probably was a 15 min. Visit that's a lot of money.
I will call Charlie Lovett from Lovett plumbing & heating next time.

I had Cranney install in Beverly a $10,000 HVAC (heat pump) system 3 years ago. It was the worst decision I've ever made. As a homeowner since 1976, Cranneys technical and customer service was the very worst I've ever experienced. Cranney's final insult came when I moved last month 8/19. Now I'm reviewing the nightmare they created for me the last 3 years.
1) I canceled by e-mail 8/16/19 a reoccurring $99.00 service contract due 9/1/19. Cranney charged me $99.00 8/20/19. I called Cranney about this charge. They retracted the $99.00 charge and charged me again $99.00. 8/21/19 called Cranney (Bianca) about this additional charge. I received a message from Debbie at Cranney offering a special on the heating tune-up. I had to file an unauthorized Debit (ACH) with my bank to receive my ($99.00) money back !!
2) Cranney installed the wrong thermostat with the new HVAC 9/16. This caused the heat to shut-off. I need to use electric space heaters when this happened. It took three service trips and over two months for Cranney to find this problem. One month my electric bill was over $800.00. I was stressed to the max during this time period. I'm a totally and permanently disabled Army veteran (64-67).
3) There was a storm that caused the roof installed compressor to fall over and fault out needing replacement. Cranney determined that it was a natural disaster and wanted to bill me for the repair. However, there were over 25 other HVAC compressors on the roof and none of them blew over. Cranney's installation was faulty and I had to battle with them to take responsibility for the repair. I was going to go to another authorized dealer and notify the factory of the issue.
