HISTORY

Established in 1978.
Eric C. Foster Plumbing, Heating & Cooling started out of Eric's garage in Chelmsford, MA in 1978. At the time Eric was just 27 years old and was running his own business. With hard work, quality craftsmanship, and the utmost loyalty to his customers, Eric now has 29 employees and over 15 trucks. Eric's wife, Debbie Foster was the backbone to the strength and stability of the business doing everything from accounting to answering phones all while raising 3 young boys. In July of 2011, Debbie passed away from colon cancer. Eric and Debbie's three sons; Jared, Todd and Travis; are using everything their mother taught them to help strengthen the family business. Jared is the service manager, Todd has taken over Debbie's job while working as a licensed plumber and Travis is the HVAC manager. At Eric C. Foster Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, we strive to do the job with the highest level of quality craftsmanship. From service repairs, to new homes, we'll hook you up.

Eric is owner and founder of Eric C. Foster Plumbing & Heating. He has been fully devoted and has strived to make the business successful since he started it in 1978. If you can't reach Eric on his cell phone or find him at the office, he'll most likely be on a long motorcycle ride with his friends and sons. Eric is always working as hard as possible to make sure all of our customers are as happy as possible with the services provided to them.

We have used Eric C Foster Plumbing several times. They have connected our gas range, replaced an old hot water heater and replaced a leaking thermal expansion tank. Each time was the perfect experience. They were extremely responsive when our basement filled with water from the leaking thermal expansion tank. Just what you want when your basement has been flooded and you have no water because you had to shut it off to stop the leaking.

Every time they have come to the house, all the technicians were pleasant and polite. They have always been extremely diligent and competent in the details of their work. They are professional and neat in the execution of the tasks they have performed. They also cleanup completely, with the work area being returned to the condition it was like before whatever the issue was that brought them in for service. Actually, the work spaces were left in better shape than what they found when they arrived.

Their pricing has always been good value for the product and service received. They are the only plumbing company I use. You really need to give them a call if you want quality plumbing services.

$225/hr for labor. I will repeat $225.00 per hour for labor. A routine maintenance that cost $325 in 2021 is now $847. I came home that night after the routine maintenance to no heat. After the emergency call because they left us without heat in the middle of February, it took 2 more visits to finally repair the problem. It seems very fortuitous for them that all these parts failed just because of routine maintenance. The unit was functioning just fine before.

A week later, we get the bill. $1649. Needless to say, we were floored and outraged. 2 line items: $847 for a Rinnai maintenance (which left us with no heat). $799 for to replace 2 parts and unplug another. In 2021, the routine maintenance cost $325. 62% increase in 2 years. I called them to question the increase. They charged us for heat only not a combo unit in 2021. Yeah, so the tech in 2021 didn't know what he was working on? Really? So we got a price break in 2021, how generous. We requested a more detailed invoice. All they did was divide each with labor, no price for the parts. We were always good with using Eric C Foster for HVAC but after this visit we will be looking elsewhere. I get Rinnai's are a pain to work on, but for $1649 we could almost buy a brand new unit.

3/4/22 Update: I contacted Jared Foster directly with my concerns and he immediately scheduled a more senior plumber to come out and replace the still-leaking shutoff valve and check the rest of the toilet over, at no additional cost. So great customer service after a bad initial experience. I can understand why they didn't initially send a more senior plumber for a simple repair, but it still required extra time and effort on my (and their) part to get the job done right. Jared informed me that the original employee has since been let go. Also, making it clear ahead of time that they charge for travel time would help manage expectations. So 5 stars for the 2nd repair and customer service, but a point off for the bad initial experience, the surprise travel charge, and the junior apprentice not wearing a mask on the 2nd repair.

We had a leak in the drain pipe going to the town sewer line, at a location just outside our house. Eric C. Foster Plumbing & Heating had been highly recommended to us by a friend, and had great reviews on Yelp.com. They were the only company that responded to our requests, too. They did great work, very neat and clean, at a very reasonable price, and were great to work with. They brought with them Rowsell Brothers Excavation Company, who also did excellent work and were a pleasure to work with.

I called for service for my toilet. It was running constantly. Two men showed up and walked into bathroom said oh that's easy it was a ring that seals the the plunger. He said I have one right in the truck. It cost like $3 no biggie. They were there for 5 mins total! That is the complete truth 5 min. I ask about the bill and he says oh they will send it to you. When I got the bill it was for $198.00. I couldn't believe it, must be a mistake. No that is what they charge! So, I called and spoke to the rudest woman in the world! She says well it's $150 just for the consult. I said I was never informed about that. She said well yep that's what it costs. I asked to speak to someone else. She said that would be the owner and you are definitely not talking to him. I am a single mom and I work just like everyone else. I do not have $200 laying around for what was a ridiculously 2 second fix of my toilet! I do not recommend this company. They are rude and unprofessional and most of all thieves!

Have to give Eric C. Foster Plumbing a 5 star rating for today. Another local company canceled on us at the last minute. We called around to a few places. Eric C. Foster got back to me right away and had someone at my house within two hours. Corey and his apprentice, Tony, did great work. They hooked up our new gas stove and dishwasher in no time. They were friendly, clean, and very reasonably priced. We will only be using Eric C. Foster from now on!

The plumber I had booked from a different company decided they weren't going to show up when promised, so I called Eric C. Foster Plumbing. They were FANTASTIC! Not only were they able to get someone out to me THE SAME DAY, they were great. Showed up in masks, did what needed to be done, left everything organized (I needed a sink and faucet disconnected), and even made a helpful recommendation before leaving. So greatly appreciated! Highly recommended!

Showed up on time with a mask on. Checked entire AC system and then provided a detailed summary of his findings. Also had no difficulty scheduling visit. Very pleased with the service. Technician David was professional and very friendly.

You need to know this company charges $185 / just to travel to your home so it cost me over $200 just for travel. I was not informed of this exorbitant rate and when I addressed this after getting the bill I was shut down. As a first time customer you would think they'd cut the rate a bit but they chose not to. Poor customer service

The worst plumbing and customer service experience that I have ever had. Hired to install a new faucet and drain for my kitchen remodel, and at the end of the job the Senior Plumber yelled Oh no, told the Nashoba Tech intern to get the biggest screwdriver and hammer that he could find in the truck, and then proceeded to pound the drain and pop up with the screwdriver. Left a bent pop up and misaligned drain. I noticed it the next day when the drain kept gurgling after we used the faucet and I inspected the pop up. I could not believe that they would leave a job that they knew was not done right- and, even worse, with a Nashoba Tech High School student watching.
The Customer Service was also terrible. I called with my concerns and they assured me that someone would get back to me- they did not- and sent the bill to Collections after assuring me that would not happen. Customer Service Manager Jared Foster could not have been more arrogant and condescending, and told me This conversation is over, after a series of emails- never bothering to pick up the phone to hear my side of the story. Then they charged me over $233. dollars for this fiasco- never offering any compensation or consolation. Worst ever- maybe they were better when their father was running the company.

We have had several jobs done by Eric C Foster Plumbing (ECF) over the past few years. A steam boiler installation, gas stove installation, and water heater installation. They also did a significant component replacement on the steam boiler that was due to a manufacturers defect. We have been more than satisfied with their service, workmanship and the estimates accuracy and detail.

I was pleasantly surprised your plumbers arrived so early to help unstuck my disposal. They were very nice and courteous and in the space of 5 minutes unstuck the disposal and left me a wrench so if it happens again I'll be prepared!

Used them twice. First time was a simple valve replacement. Second time was to fix/replace a toilet wax seal that another plumber had screwed up.
Plumber and his assistant arrived early and went right to work. Did excellent job. Plumber explained the wax seal had rotted out. Previous plumber should have replaced it.
I definitely would recommend Foster to anyone.

Used this company in the past with good results but something has changed over the past year. Had furnace serviced to correct a recent problem. $700 later, problem still exists. Unresponsive to calls (six made before given someone to speak to). Eric must have retired; current staff now inadequate, unprofessional, over their head in running a customer-centric company. Go elsewhere.

Two plumbers I called never got back to me until 2 days later. I called foster plumbing at 10am. They sent a tech and apprentice to my house by 12pm of the same day. They fixed the leak within 1 hour. Ronnie and jake thanks again. Great guys and great services.

I just used ECF P&H for a variety of plumbing issues - fix tub drain, fix hot water valve in shower, install new faucet, install new toilet, line to new steam dryer. I found everyone from the office staff to the plumber and apprentice to be friendly, professional, and responsive. In addition, I thought the team that did the work was efficient. We had a minor, sporadic issue that arose after they left but found they were again very friendly, responsive, and took care of the issue to my satisfaction.
