9/29 update - The owner reached out to me the same day and informed me the diagnostics should have been a free estimate and was very helpful, offering a full refund of the $233. They also took some time to understand the diagnostic and send some estimates around the faucet replacement. I had already contacted another plumber by then so I did not end up using their service, and cannot comment on the work, but I do really appreciate the help from the owners.

$233 to run a diagnostics which took 15 minutes to tell me I need a new kitchen faucet, which was quoted as a minimum of $600 for the cheapest ones they had (including install), so $833+ for a kitchen faucet install basically.

The diagnostic was not disclosed on the phone when I called even though I asked how much it costs to send someone out, what hourly rates were, etc. I can't imagine a scenario where they would not run 'diagnostics', so it should have been communicated. I get that you can't commit to something you don't know what is wrong. But that is a basic, set price it sounds like. I guess they charge such a high amount because they know the rest of their prices are so expensive people won't go with them, so they need to get something for coming out because they get turned down so much for the actual work?

On the plus side, the person, Jimmy, that came out was on time, very nice, and I wouldn't be surprised if he did excellent work.

Very disappointed in the unexpected fee for 15 minutes of work (30 minutes for the entire visit door to door), not applicable to what I'm sure is only a 30 minute to hour job of replacing the faucet (which is a $300-400 charge not counting the $200+ faucet).

So I guess with the 30 minutes at my place and lets say an hour to change out a faucet, the labor costs would be about $600.

Tromborg came right away, assessed the work that needed to be done and made an appointment to fix our plumbing two days later.  A big section of our kitchen plumbing needed to be replaced due to a leak, corroded pipes and incorrect plumbing design (is that what you would call it?).  Anyway, it took them nearly all day to replace (it was a lot of work) plus they found a blockage in our pipes and cleared it!

They were very responsive to my call and had really good management of getting someone out to help me with my issue. However, the advice I got after 1 minute of assessment was replace the whole thing. Didn't feel right to me so I did my own checking and turns out I just needed to replace a set screw. $0.50 vs $1500. Unbelievable incompetence.

I called Joven early on a weekday morning during the last big storm because the drain in front of my house was clogged and flooding the area.  He was at my house in a snap and had the drain cleared within 45 minutes of my call despite heavy rain.  The rate was more than reasonable.  Joven saved my house from flooding before 8am and I made it to work on time!  I highly recommend On-Call Plumbing & Rooter and will definitely use them for any future plumbing needs.

Greg ran a gas line in our home. What a professional and happy interaction. Garcia plumbing: (1) came to our home on time, (2) inspected the site quickly and expertly, (3) gave us a clear picture of what he'd need to do, (4) submitted a timely, reasonable bid, (actually much lower than the other bid we got), (5) showed up on time to do the work, (6) found a way to run the line without opening an extra hole in the wall, and (7) explained exactly what he did and showed us the final result after carefully cleaning any mess. I will not call any other plumber for whatever plumbing issue our house needs in the future!

It seemed impossible to find a plumber on a Friday night! Fortunately I called Five Star and they were Ready!! The owner (Saul) I believe was very nice and heard me out completely. I called other companies and they wanted to come out before giving me a price! ( that's how they get you) and I refuse to pay an outrageous amount just bc I'm desperate. Needless to say the nice man quoted me a price over the phone. I thought it was very reasonable. He arrived with in the hour. Upon arriving he greeted me still very nice (no attitude bc after all it was late on a Friday night) put on some shoe covers and cleared out my sink. It was fast ,clean , great price and friendly. I would definitely give them the 5 stars they Rep!!

Edgar has been out to my house four times in the last year:  once to troubleshoot a toilet, once to fix a tenant-discovered leak while I was on vacation, once to install a dishwasher, and today to install a hot water heater.  I'm a retired general contractor and have been around more than a fair share of incompetent tradespeople.  This guy, Edgar, knows his shit.  He is an absolute pleasure to deal with.  5 stars all the way.

Bedr is super responsive and professional. I should have called a lot sooner!!  I had been procrastinating a bunch of small projects for months thinking that I was going to DIY them, but I finally stopped the madness and called!  It took less than 1 hour to hang 2 floating shelves, photos that had been laying around forever, and 4 spice racks in my kitchen !! He came prepared with all the tools and knew what he was doing.  He even checked out my annoying toilet that was constantly running and showed me the problem so I could fix it myself if it happened in the future. Looking forward to working with him on all my future handyman projects.  Thank you!!

Joyous day- our household no longer leaks!

We first asked Zayah over to replace a pair of showerheads that were installed forty years ago and completely stuck on. He took care of us rapidly and efficiently, then took a look at the seven sinks we had that all were leaking. Based on his advice, we ordered appropriate faucets for all of them and asked him back.

That's where his work began. Our plumbing was a DISASTER. We had drains that fell apart when touched and handles that broke when turned. Significant time spent cutting out old drains, replacing angle stops, and having to go out to the local hardware store for necessary parts. (Such as the unexpectedly new drain. We'd already planned to replace four of the others and were prepared for those. Sigh.)

Zayah was amazing and worked us into his schedule as he could, especially given the expected and unexpected needs of our project. His rates are phenomenal and his work ethic top notch. We can't recommend his work enough!

Big props to Ronnie @ Harry Clark, Brian the crew chief and the whole team. We had simultaneous grey water drainage problem the same day our 15 month old water heater died due to a manufacturing flaw. Not only did Ronnie diagnose the problems in under 10 minutes, he put me on the phone with Brian who guided me away from expensive options and redirected me to the manufacturer.

Ronnie then jumped on the phone with the manufacturer, advocated and got agreement for a no cost replacement. Wow!

Can't recommend Ronnie and Harry Clark plumbing more.

As good as it gets. Jac came the same day I called (within hours) and swiftly diagnosed the issue with my backed up bathroom sink, snaked it, cleaned the line, replaced some pipe parts, and then went on to fix three other minor issues with my toilet, sink stopper, and bath stop. The entire time she was working, she was open to explaining to me how I could do some of the fixes myself in the future to save money. Quick, efficient, helpful, professional and save for the relief of having a functioning kitchen sink again, the best part was pulling my 9-year-old daughter in the bathroom to watch Jac work, teach and talk about how she got into her trade.

May she thrive in business for long time because she'll be my first call with any plumbing issues from this day on. Thanks, Jac! A pleasure!

Ben totally saved the day!

We suffered a break-in attempt yesterday morning, which ended up damaging our building's front door frame to the point that it would no longer lock. This obviously needed to get fixed ASAP and I knew that same day availability for a big job like this would be a challenge. Luckily I found Ben's page and gave him a call. He was able to fit me into his afternoon and worked until sundown to get the door frame repaired with new lumber and reinforced. He was polite, helpful, and a total pleasure to work with, and we went to bed soundly knowing that the front door was now even more secure than it was before the incident. Thanks again Ben!

We had a clogged sewer line and now we don't. I am really happy with the job. good communication during scheduling, reasonable prices for the job and prompt service.

The best experience I've had with a plumber yet.  When I initially called, they helped me troubleshoot the issue without having someone come out to save me some money.  Turned out the whole garbage disposal was shot.  They had someone out the next morning who came prepared with the new disposal and was done within the hour.  Super professional, honest, and efficient.

Just a brief note to add to all the 5-star reviews this company has accrued to date. Whether from the point of view of professionalism, customer service, or timeliness, these folks ought to be the gold standard. Ryan came out to check out the sewer drain from a toilet in our poolhouse. In short order he found the problem, part of the cap from cleanout removal by and earlier sewer company visit had fallen into the drain and partially blocked it. After clearing the obstacle and running a videocam 160' to the main sewer in the street, no other problems were found (invading roots, etc). All of this done in under 20 minutes and no charge. Have no question about referring anyone to the Company. A quality act! Too bad there are so few of these around these days.

I have been a customer of Heise's Plumbing in SF for close to 30 years. They converted my pipes to copper plumbing and have bailed me out of emergencies.On Friday of Memorial Day weekend, I woke up to a puddle of water on my kitchen floor. Called Heise's and was told they could not get anyone to my house until sometime between 1-3 pm. 10 minutes later they called back and said someone would be here by 11 am. Sam arrived, found the broken pipe and fixed it quickly. He was efficient, friendly, and very professional. I cannot rave enough about Heise's Plumbing.

I was recommended to Frank by a friend and have been extremely pleased with his work.  He has come to the rescue twice when I have had plumbing needs.  He is very efficient, courteous, clean, and professional.  I was impressed by Frank's ability to diagnose the problem so quickly and then take care of it right away.  I will continue to use him as a plumber and highly recommend him to anyone else.

After receiving an estimate via Yelp, we set up an appointment. Kenny and assistant arrived on time fully masked and wearing booties.
They efficiently replaced 3 toilets and valves. He even used an intact part of one of the older toilets to repair a fourth toilet that did not need replacement. I will use Kenny for all future plumbing needs and highly recommend him.

Yeah, I don't know about Plumbing Guys in Oakland...We live in Alameda and my uncle-who owns the home - and is elderly and a little disoriented at times- talked with the guy that came out to assess the plugged up kitchen drain. He told him that the pipes that go out to the street were old and in bad shape- and the job would cost 2800.00 bucks to remedy the problem. He offered to snake the drain but warned us that if he broke the pipes under the sink- it would not be his fault
WTH?
This seemed a little fishy to say the least. We had another plumber come out this morning from Ben Franklin Plumbing- and they said the 2800 dollar estimate was preposterous- and they could fix the problem for less than 400 bucks. The plumber, Michael, dressed in a nice clean jacket with the company logo- was professional, courteous and kind. The job was done in a half hour! They gave us a senior discount - and the bill was 365 bucks! Be careful when you call plumbers in to fix a job. They know that the home owner needs to have it fixed and can prey on them with unnecessary work. Ben Franklin saved my uncle over 2400 bucks. Bravo!!
