I have used Tromborg Royal for years and have always been very pleased with their service and price.

I put out a request for a plumbing repair and received a reply and reasonably price quote within 5 minutes. I accepted the quote and asked to schedule the job. It turns out that they had two person plumber crew who was 30 minutes away.  They came, finished the job, cleaned up and were prompt, courteous and friendly. I would hire Joel C and his company again.

Bay Rooter is great! Israel came out to look into a leaky pipe. He diagnosed the problem as a simple fix- replacing a rigid copper tube with a flexible one- and since it looked like something I could do myself, he gave me a discount for the visit, removed the copper tube for me and showed me what kind to replace it with the next time I was at Home Depot. I appreciated his honesty and will definitely be calling on them again.

They came out a did an efficient job on an unusually difficult clog.  The snake didn't work, but they used a second piece of equipment called a jetter to get it done (at extra cost).  They also did a small bit of ad-hoc temporary plumbing so that the waste water from the entire process would be discharged outside and not in my basement (no extra cost).  Finally, they cleaned up thoroughly when done.  I'd call them again if I even needed to.

Max, Chucky, and the rest of his crew are wonderful to work with. We first met Max when we needed a new water heater and wanted to go tankless. Max was quick and efficient handling a tricky 100 year old basement placement and following proper code. We found out he also does remodeling. We were so happy with his work that we hired him to do a full bathroom remodel and closet to laundry room conversion. His bid was very reasonable and we found ourselves expanding the project because we were so happy with his work. The crew has great attention to detail and are very good at problem solving as needed. They use quality materials, are prompt, always keep the job site tidy and are extremely respectful of your space and time. The only drawback is that Max is very busy and it is a small family run operation and so it often takes him a while to get a bid for new projects but AMX is worth the wait!!!

[update] After two phone calls this morning, I got a 4:30 appointment today. Chris is the really star!! Saved the day. I would definitely gave Chris 5 stars, but considering my time and stress in the whole process, I would give 3 overall.
Chris identified the issue pretty fast, fixed it right away. Very knowledgeable and was able to explain things to me nicely. His assessment of the electrical panel's condition sounds a lot more reliable to me.
I really hope I don't need to call an electrician again in near future. Still not sure if I would work with them again. I know every newbie needs to start somewhere. But thinking this job should be an easy installation, so sent out someone who turned out to be incapable of doing it, and ended up taking all other people's time and effort to fix it, is not the right way to go. At least not for me.

[first part of the story]
The whole experience starts with 5 stars and then everything went down hill. Can't believe this is the first serious Yelp review I write, so upset by this whole experience.

To start with, my wall switch for water heater was burnt during memorial day weekend. So I googled and yelped, and called them. Eric came really fast. He didn't have that type of switch with him, so he did a temporary fix to keep my water heater working. And said he would get the switch after the weekend, then schedule a visit with me to install it. There are two items in the estimation: 1. install the switch for water heater, 2. replace the breakers controlling water heater with refurbished parts since the panel is a very old model.
Up to that point, it's still 5 star impression, maybe a little surprised by the price, but thought the service would be reliable.

But then, I never heard back from them, not sure if they are waiting for the parts or what. So after a while, I called them, the lady on the call said she'll let Eric call me back soon. No call back. One week later, called again, another lady picked up, saying she'll notice the manager or somebody. Next Monday, yesterday actually, finally got a call back, get scheduled for switch installation for today. Eric was busy, so it's another guy, which they said he'll know how to do it. But, everything was not working well today!! Michael arrived after 10am, later than the scheduled time. Did the installation, tripped the breaker for my whole unit (I'm in a condo) in the process, and finally said it's all done. Then I let out some hot water to test, the water heater is not powered on! Then he started testing the power from wires (indeed not enough power!) and calling Eric or other leads, tried to rearrange my breakers in the electrical panel, didn't work. Finally, said his lead will come in the afternoon.
So the sr guy came, tested the new switch installed, turned out that new switch was already burnt after installation. Then he went to the store, get another switch, installed, reconnected everything. It's over 6pm, I was pretty annoyed at that point. So when he said it's done, I trusted him and forgot to do the water testing myself (which turned out to be a huge mistake!!), paid, and let them go.
This work took a whole day!! And I wasted a work day at home!! When I remembered to test the hot water afterwards, the water heater does not work!!!
Just called them again, the lady said she'll let the electricians check with me. It's being ~1hr now, no call back yet... Wonder if I would ever got the call back any time soon since they've got my money.
During the process, the sr. guy kept telling me my electrical panel was too old, not safe, and said they can schedule an appointment to upgrade it with safer panel within the week. Well, if you guys can't even fix this one switch, how could I ever trust you guys with my whole electrical panel??!!! Didn't even test the whole system to see if the switch is working properly! And a high price for such level of service that left me with no power for hot water!!!

Can't recommend them highly enough! We had a completely blocked toilet and shower. After I had tried everything, I called them. They arrived within a few hours and tried to snake through the shower drain, which didn't work, so took off the toilet and ended up finding the blockage 130' away. They were friendly, thorough, and meticulous in their cleanup. They also inspected my crawlspace for other leaks that had gone undetected. He even put a camera down into the pipes so I could see their current state. Will definitely be using them to replace some pipes and put in a tankless water heater soon!

We had a defective gas stove in living room. Despite three visits and charges it was not working. The area was freezing. Conor and Local Plumbing diagnosed the problem, ordered the parts and the stove works like new. He even showed us how the remote control worked- no vendor ever bothered to do this.   In an area where there are so many options, you'd be well-advised to use Local Plumbing.

We went through 6 plumbers over the course of 4 months to fix a complicated issue and each plumber would come with their tool kit, ask where the issue was an say they needed to snake despite me sharing the history. Ed was the only one who mapped out the entire plumbing system before even asking where our issue was, he came up with a creative fix that saved us immense headache and financial stress and he navigated working with a nearly impossible personality who we are in an HOA with.

Don't ever call any other plumber again other than Ed.

Toilet clogged and flooded. Jose brought his special toilet snake and did magic in fixing the toilet. Whole ordeal took less than 10 minutes.

They just completed our sewer-lateral overhaul for Alameda Co. compliance.  Service is professional, amicable, and transparent  ((quoted price for the work and final invoice were nearly identical))  Also, our sewer lateral was especially deep-down, but was apparently no problem for Will and his crew.   10/10 would recommend, and will certainly be calling them back for internal plumbing work in the coming months.

I found this plumber somewhat unconventionally. We had an issue with moisture getting into the exterior wall of our finished basement room, which is below grade. We do have a French drain, which was installed by the prior owners. But we knew nothing about it - where exactly it was, whether it was clean and functioning.

I had multiple contractors come take a look and most of them said we need to dig out all the concrete outside to locate the drain, and then waterproof - or even replace (!) our foundation etc. This is all because of a tiny bit of efflorescence on a wall.

Feeling stressed, I went for a walk. I turned the corner and saw the Gateway truck parked. I went up to the guy standing outside and asked if he could come take a look. To my surprise he said yes, he'd be there in a half hour.

The plumber, Daniel, showed up right on time. He took a look at everything, told us where the French drain was located based on the location of the catch basin, and said he could do a camera inspection for us. He came back a few days later and ran his cool camera thingy through all our pipes (I called it a house colonoscopy.). He climbed the fence and inspected the opening of the French drain, which is in our neighbor's yard. He gave us some ideas about how to mitigate the moisture issue without breaking the bank, and put my worries at ease.

Daniel was professional, on time, and extraordinarily reasonable for the amount of time he spent with us. I will be sure to call them to fix plumbing issues in the future.

Spoke with a representative and made an appointment to fix a leak, he never showed for the appointment. I called the business number twice and was hung up on once and never received a call back.
