Removed our old and corroded kitchen in-sink waste disposal unit and at same time installed a new sink faucet (we had gotten the new faucet ourselves, but installation required Jorge to cut away a little bit of the Corian sink lip.) Review from 5:30 pm - I called on a Saturday morning at 9:30am for a clogged drain as the business is open Saturday 9-5. I was asked to text all my information to the same number that I had called and told that a technician would call me back to arrange a same day afternoon visit. After waiting all day, I called again at 3pm and got voicemail. I left a message that I was still waiting to hear from someone. It is now 5:30pm and the business is closed. No call. I did call another company at 3pm and they agreed to come tomorrow morning, on a Sunday. I have no idea what the communication problem was, but a no show, no call is a bummer when I can't use my kitchen sink.

Edited at 8pm, same day - I finally got a text at 5:37pm telling me that a technician was on the way. Then a phone call around 6pm telling me that they'd be there in 20-30 minutes. When I told the guy on the phone that I had no idea they were coming and no one called or answered their business line he said they just put me on the schedule. The guys showed up at about 6:30, and to their credit, they were great - fixed the problem and were super helpful and patient, especially considering that it was Saturday night and the job they were doing at my house must have been holding them up from going home and their own dinner. So 5 stars for the work, but only 1 or 2 for the office/business end and communication .

PROS: Jorge did a good job clearing a clogged storm drain in my driveway. He was also responsive with getting me a quote and scheduling a repair. He was very friendly and explained what he was doing every step of the way.

CONS: When we talked on the phone, he said the estimate was $385 - $485, but the cost ended up being significantly higher at $685 (originally $785 but he said he'd knock off $100). He said this was because he had to hydrojet two ends of the drain so it counted as two events. I don't know how legit this reasoning is and my main complaint is he didn't mention this cost increase ahead of time. Had I known the cost was $685, I would have shopped around more for other options. Based on this experience, I would recommend reconfirming the price at the start of any job.

Our downstairs toilet began overflowing and we had been trying all morning to unclog it. When that didn't work we started canvassing for Rooter/Plumbing companies and came across JJ Rooter/Plumbing. They responded immediately and had someone on site, with gloves and mask, within the hour to solve our issue. Jorge was very helpful not only in finding our issue (roots that had dislocated our pipes), but also providing us a video and giving us options for how to move forward. As many of us were met with plumbing issues and/ or leakages from the strong rainy season recently and especially late Dec'22 and early Jan'23. Myself included. I initially had a large plumbing company come out. But after 2 visits by 2 different techs with findings that didn't line up I as confused by the increased predictability of what the next steps were after already paying quite a bit for a potentially backed up French drain issue and identifying which pipes the backup was originating from. Suffice to say I had concerns so I started calling other alternatives but was met by majority plumbing companies who did not service French drain issues. Thankfully I came across J J Rooter & Plumbing and spoke to the owner Jorge. He did not shy away from coming out like the others. He came, scoped the issue, verified the pipeline from the French drain in question plus tested another line. It was such a relief. And when he tested the lines he had me come out to familiarize myself with where the lines terminate and verify water flow from the test with my own eyes. Testing concluded the French drain was in good standing and the initial backed up pipeline had no material issues to expect going forward. I find J J Rooter & Plumbing to be experts at what they do but also the service quality and approach are advanced, practical and reasonable. Most of all Jorge is trustworthy- he provides straightforward assessments that not only help resolve the current issue but also clarity going forward. I highly recommend J J Rooter & Plumbing.

We had a leak coming from the second story of our home through a ceiling into our kitchen. Jorge came an hour or two after I called (which was faster than anyone else was able to come). Update from my previous review. Jorge just completed trenchless sewer line replacement at our house. From taking care of the permit with the county to the final inspection and finishing up the entire project had been a pleasant experience. Jorge and his son Jorge (George) is a life saver for us. The moment we met him and his son, we knew they are really honest peole. We had a second quote from a GC and JJ rooter price is very competitive. We got a second quote from a GC which was about the same.

The flow rate of our main drain was starting to decrease and we wanted to get it taken care of before it clogged completely, so we looked for a local plumber and came across JJ Rooter. When I called, Jorge was on the road, but he still took my call and gave me info about his availability and the baseline fee for the job. I was grateful that he was available later that day. He arrived when he said he would, was kind and professional, and was done with the job in about half an hour. The sink drains great and we can rest that much easier!

We moved to our new home a few months ago and needed some big repairs done including our sewer lateral and replacing all of our faucets. We had a main sewer backup and called J J Rooter based on these reviews. We were very happy with our choice. They squeezed us into their long day, arriving at 10:30pm and quickly and efficiently snaked the sewer line from the street and got rid of the clog. They followed up a couple of days later with a camera inspection of the pipes and found that some of the cast iron piping was corroded and had some joint issues that caused the clog to slowly build up. The guys are friendly and professional. Would absolutely recommend.

Jorge and his team replaced all of our galvanized pipes to copper, including the main water line. Although he had to reschedule the initial service a couple of times due to different reasons, he was always very communicative and gave fair notice. It was worth the wait! Also, although cosmetic work is not part of his service, he came back without hesitation to close up a hole from an old pipe in our bathroom that was removed when I asked about it. I absolutely 100% recommend Jorge and crew, and they're now my go-to people for everything plumbing.

My experience with them started on a Thursday evening, when my partner found sewage bubbling up into our upstairs shower, and water leaking from upstairs into our garage. While I scrambled to move stuff out from underneath the leaks, she found JJ Rooter & Plumbing, and we gave them a call.

Jorge and Saul were able to make it out quickly; after we described the issue and showed them the affected areas of my house, they gave me a preliminary diagnosis. They confirmed the issue with a camera inspection (for a fee, but which was used as a deposit against the work- all of which they explained clearly before starting). They pointed out a number of issues and gave us an estimate for the work- but earned our trust when they pointed out that we could save a couple thousand dollars by trying to get the city and/or the plumbing company that did the previous street work to come back to fix some of the issues they found there, and provided guidance on how to go about doing that.

Over the next two days (Friday and Saturday), Jorge, Saul, Carlos, and Eduard worked to replace a serious amount of corroded piping throughout the house. They did so with minimal disruption to my partner and I (we're working from home due to the pandemic), were polite, and clearly explained everything they were going to do and confirmed the work and price was acceptable before starting. They also wore masks the entire time (this wasn't as big of a concern for us since we learned that we were all vaccinated after chatting with them for a bit), but we appreciated the gesture. They weren't able to replace any of the drywall that needed to be removed for them to do their work (which they explained before starting), but in spite of that they still left the house's plumbing substantially better, functionally and cosmetically, than it was when they started.

I'm really happy with my experience with JJ Rooter & Plumbing, Jorge, Saul, Carlos, and Eduard. They're a laid-back bunch, but they don't mess around, and do quality work. Choose them for your next plumbing project (or emergency!)- you won't regret it.

These guys were very easy to deal with, fast, and fair. I received a $3000 water bill from EBMUD. It turned out that the line from the street to our house had been leaking for months. We had a challenging project which was to identify 1) why my pool toilet is clogged and the sewer line is not draining the water, 2) how to fix it.

Although Jorge and I thought we just need to reconnect the broken part of the line. After digging the hole quite a bit, however, surprisingly we found the sewer line the previous owners had installed for my pool restroom was not connected to the main sewer line from the beginning!!! Big thanks to them...

After a long inspection, we decided to connect the line to my main sewer line. While doing so, we found our main sewer line had a leaking problem.

Jorge and his team replaced my main sewer line buried 10ft below and connect the pool house sewer line to it seamlessly. Happy with the quality of work.

Just had Jorge and his assistant in to fix a continuous hot water heater and pump, a shower, and a toilet. When I first contacted Jorge for help, he was responsive and made an appointment.

Jorge showed up on time, was very courteous and professional, returned with parts promptly, charged fairly, explained what he and his assistant were doing and why, helped me choose between options for addressing issues, and everything works! This was a great experience!

Jorge and Saul worked on my clogged drain pipes (underneath the house). I had called them on Sunday afternoon. They came early Monday morning, examined the situation and told me that they would be back after they get the necessary supplies and finish another job they had already scheduled. They indeed returned that afternoon and worked late, until 9:30 pm, replacing the clogged pipes and also helping me with the installation of a water filter under the kitchen sink. I was impressed by their hard work.

This year has been our year for plumbing issues. Between clogged and dead toilets and slow draining sinks, we have had more plumbers working here than in the past 10 years combined, probably. Last month, at Alan's request, our son-in-law checked the crawlspace under the house for dampness. He found some. Not bad, but enough that it needed professional attention. Alan researched on Yelp and found Jorge of JJ Rooter. We had had French drains put in years ago and our first thought was to have them cleaned out. Jorge came over and did that, but found that more was needed. Water was still getting under the house despite the French drains, so it was not being captured.

Jorge gave us three options for fixing it, including the costs of each and we chose to go w/ the most expensive, outside work, then added more work under the house itself. It seemed the most practical way to go. He came over last Friday w/ his crew and equipment and they worked for three days straight, including Easter Sunday, which surprised us. Rather than arriving early early, as many workers do, they arrived around 9:30 or 10 each morning, which pleased me as I'm a late sleeper. They worked until dark each day and were very mindful of the plants.

One of the sweetest things was that Jorge's wife, Veronica, came over every afternoon except Easter w/ supper for the crew, which she served out of the trunk of the car. Alan walked by on Friday and she offered him a plate of spaghetti and chicken. He brought it in, took a few bites and then offered me some. It was delicious, so good that I finished it while he was napping. When we were coming home from Nina's granddaughter's birthday party the next day we thanked her and she gave us two more plates of chicken, beef, rice, beans, potatoes and spaghetti. As we were going out that night, we wrapped and refrigerated them and they were our dinner the following night.

Most of the outside work was done Sunday night, save for the cement repair in back by the deck, which they finished Tuesday. They managed to get everything done between rainstorms. The last bit, under the house, they completed Thursday. Alan inspected the work they did and was very pleased. I was happy they were mindful of the plants. Jorge was very nice to work w/ and we would recommend him to anyone who needs this kind of drainage work done. The price he charged seemed very reasonable for the work he and his crew did.

Jorge and his team is competent, professional and friendly, and I highly recommend him and will continue to use him if I ever have any future plumbing needs. My project was a sizable one - 1) replacing the mainline due to a leak; 2) unclogging the lines due to the galvanized pipe sediment the new higher pressure piping pushed to the end of the line (faucets, toilet, etc.), and 3) I decided to replace the galvanized pipe with copper due to the sediment issues.

Jorge responded to my message and was available the same day to provide a quote for the mainline (Friday), fixed it that next day (Saturday), and addressed the sediment issues we were having within a day (Sunday). He ensured the work met my expectations, cleaned up around the area once done, and returned belongings to their place under the sinks, etc.

(Oh, and to top it all off - he also helped the neighbor across the street move a sofa into their house and recommended insulation for me for my attic).

The first 3 or 4 companies I called didn't get back to me, in a timely manner, or wanted extra money for emergency calls, but couldn't get to us for a few hours. After reading J J's reviews I gave them call. I got a voicemail so I left a message and explained that the bathrooms in the office were clogged as they constantly have been doing recently. Jorge came out immediately and unclogged the toilets.

I explained to him ever since another Plumber installed a lateral on the pipes, we've had all sorts of troubles, and spent money on plumbers to come out just to unclog the toilets. He offered to water-jet the pipes and run a camera through to help us find out what the issue is and my boss agreed.

Jorge found the issue!!!! I was so happy that I actually found a company that goes the extra mile. Not only did he watch the video with us, he explained what we were looking at and pointed out where the issues were. The next day have gave us an estimate, and it was more reasonable than the other quotes and he could have it fixed sooner.

They came out to do a Sewer Lateral Replacement, and it was done fast,and it was done right. He was true to his word, the cost remained the same, and he even worked the weekend so we could have a bathroom during the week.

Everything is flowing smoothly (lol)and he took video of the pipes after the work was done and we are very satisfied with his services. I hope someone in my situation finds this review helpful like I did and give these folks a call first. Everyone at my job wishes we knew about them a long tine ago, but we will recommend him to someone in need of a good honest plumber that does quality work.

They used a different tool and approached it from the outside (which was great, with Covid issues and all).

The quick: Very responsive, great service, fair pricing, and candid to his own expense!
The dirty: Had Jorge come out to snake a landscape drain that was backed up during the last heavy rain. Turns out the pipe is broken about 100 feet down the line. He told me this, and that it would have to be dug up to be repaired or replaced. When I asked what he charged he said that it was such a easy job that a couple unskilled laborers could do it for much less. He even offered to talk them through the job over the phone. That's some solid customer service right there. Two days later when my sewer main was clogged, I texted Jorge and he squeezed me in, on a Saturday, to save my bacon. Didn't even charge a same-day-emergency-got-ya-by-the-short-and-curlies surcharge!

Another rave review for Jorge! I thought my only problem was a slow running kitchen drain. Jorge came out the same day I called and did a thorough inspection. Result was need for a complete line replacement including cleanout. He also discovered a pipe had been encased in concrete when I had my foundation done, and he freed it, a big job in itself. If he hadn't found the problems, I would have had water draining under the house, probably without realizing it, leading to more problems. They worked efficiently and cleaned up thoroughly. And he's a great guy and fun to talk to.

We had a water leak under the concrete slab foundation and needed to replace 70 year old water pipes for the entire house. When we were meeting with various plumbers for quotes and recommendations, all others recommended using PEX for flexibility and ease of installation. However, Jorge explained the cons of using PEX and recommended that copper is the best way to go. Jorge and Saul were knowledgeable, professional and courteous. I highly recommend Jorge and his team for plumbing problems. Early one evening I found water pouring out of a drain hole in my curb, obviously from under my front lawn. Others in the neighborhood have had broken water pipes caused by tree roots and now it was my turn. My neighbor turned off my water for me and recommended J J Rooter & Plumbing, whom I called right away. They came the next day which was fine as my water was off, then worked many hours to put in a new copper pipe and fixed the problem. Afterwards it looked as if nothing had happened, even though they had dug into my lawn and garden. They did an excellent, neat job and I couldn't be happier. Also, Jorge is a very nice man.

We unexpectedly had sewage flooding into the house on a Saturday afternoon! I called and left a message at 2 pm and they called me back within 10 minutes and offered to come later that day! They let me know when they were running 15 minutes late, and worked from 6:15 pm to 8:30 pm on a Saturday (well past their normal Saturday hours) to find the sewer pipe (hidden under a deck), find the blockage, clear it, put in a new cleanout (the house is old and didn't have one). They both wore masks the whole time and clearly explained options to fix and costs. They were a lifesaver and really nice! Highly recommend!

Jorge and his team were AMAZING! They were quick, professional, and affordable. The great thing is their truck was equipped with everything- roto rooter, hydrojet, camera, and trench-less pipe replacement. They cleared our clogged drain with their hydrojet and then used a camera which showed quite a lot of pipe damage. We decided to do a trench-less pipe replacement and installed a clean out. Great service and very conscientious. I had a pretty substantial water leak and called Jorge, who got back to me within 30 minutes of my call. Leak was not in the house and we couldn't really tell where it was going. Jorge suggested I call a leak detection company since we were unable to find the leak. Called the leak detection company but they couldn't come for another 5 days. I had the water turned off and wanted at least a temporary fix so I could use some water in the house for the next 5 days. Called Jorge again, who came back in a couple of hours, we tried a few things, and sure enough, instead of just having a temporary solution, he fixed the problem. I liked how responsive Jorge was, also really nice, seemed genuinely disappointed he was unable to fix the problem on the first try, and very happy when we fixed the issue. Very professional. We discovered a leak in our water main (a week before our wedding) - Jorge came by the same day that I called to give us an estimate, scheduled the work as quickly as possible, and came on a Saturday to replace the entire line from the water meter to our house. Our office toilet was clogged, and got the approval to find a plumber and found JJ Rooter and plumbing. I called them up and spoke to Jorge and ask him for a quote and if he can come to the office today. He gave me a reasonable quote and promptly texted me that he was on the way to our office. I showed him the toilet a told him the problem. He tried to open the main line from outside but he it was hard to open, So I ask to try snaking it from the inside. Jorge did a good job and he said there's a lot of roots along the line. He suggested if it happens again after a couple of months, he need to put a camera and open from the outside. He gave us 30 days guarantee which is great and he did not left a mess in the toilet. It was clean. If you ever want a good plumber. Give them a call.

After our gas water heater stopped working properly we noticed other gas appliances weren't working either. PG&E came out and after some investigation it turned out the gas lateral to our house was leaking and filling with water from all the recent heavy rain. After seeing his great reviews I gave Jorge a call. He got back to me quickly and came out the same day to look at our gas line. He then came back the following day with his team to dig up the old gas pipe and replace it. Jorge and team did an excellent job replacing our water filled gas line. My house has 5 bathrooms, and on Sunday night 2 of the bathrooms started to back up and one of the shower stalls started to flood. It was quite a disaster. My wife looked up JJ Rooter and Plumbing on Yelp and I immediately called because they had great reviews. Jorge promptly drove up on Monday morning with his assistant, Francisco. He diagnosed the problem as being a blocked main sewer line. It turned out to be a really big job. He had all the necessary equipment and electronic devices in his van and located the main line 8 feet deep. It took the 2 of them over 10 hours to fix the problem, digging 8 feet into the clay dirt to install a clean out. They worked non-stop until around 10 PM to finish the job. They were very professional, polite and hard-working. Jorge checked all the other pipes under the house to make sure there were no other problems and left the premises totally clean. I totally recommend them!

He took the time to explain to me exactly what needed to be done to replace my hot water heater and didn't try to sugar coat the details or make me feel silly for asking questions. Jorge explained everything that has to be done and the options he was very clear about everything and very professional. They had to run the camera to see where the problems were and it was quicker than expected. Couple days passed and the day for the trench-less was here! They came and they started working they finished and they came the next day for inspection. Jorge knew what to do for the inspection and they passed quick. Honesty will get you everything. My toilet had a slow drain but was still working. I assumed it needed a good rooting. Jorge came it and spent a few minutes assessing the toilet and determined that there was a calcium buildup and then advised me how to treat it.
No charge..... my jaw is still on the floor. Jorge was honest and is an upstanding and respectable man.

He was also the only plumber that called me back this morning! I don't look forward to pluming problems but if I have any I will be calling Jorge.

Gorge was courteous, professional, kind, accommodating and most importantly honest. I had an emergency, who doesn't? and I was not felt taken advantage of, which some plumber can... you know?

I called at 10:30pm the night before asking for an early visit to not miss work, and George texted me that he will come by at 7am which he did. Solving the problem was not easy but George explained to me all options calmly as we went. He figured out the problem and did not charge me through the nose.

My house and it's plumbing is 100 years old. Jorge was referred by a handyman in my neighborhood two years ago.

Jorge Rodriguez did two emergency jobs for me recently and was excellent and reasonably priced. He replaced a broken thermocouple in a water heater after dark on a Sunday night, restoring hot water to a tenant, which was obviously urgent. A day later, he replaced a wall heater with a broken controller. Jorge is really smart and he's honest. Though it's sometimes a little challenging to communicate, as I don't speak Spanish, we managed in the end just fine. I highly reommend him!

Great service where they fixed the problem while I continued to go about my business at home. Jorge and another plumber came out this afternoon to help us with a clogged shower drain. They were able to quickly figure out the connections between the sink, shower, and kitchen pipes. It ended up that debris in the sink and shower led to the clog, so they rooted both (without asking me, which I love). Within about 30 mins, the drain was fully functioning again. Had sewage backed up into the shower and toilet at my mom's old house in Berkeley. I called about 5 people who never even called me back. I found Jorge on Yelp. He had glowing reviews so I called him and he answered immediately. Said he was just finishing up a job and would be there in about 2 hours. I was sweating it because i have a 92 year old mom who cannot get around very well and it would have been a nightmare to have no plumbing for an entire day and night. Jorge arrived as promised at 4:00. After over 4 hours of snaking, jetting, and camera work, he finally got it flowing. Unfortunately, the problem was a cracked pipe with a tangle of roots growing inside. We were able to use the toilet that night and Jorge came back the next day and replaced the bad section of pipe.

I'm very happy with Jorge and the work that was done and super grateful that he was willing to stay so late to make sure we had facilities for the night. I found him to be very nice and easy to talk to and he explained things so I could understand.

I have no idea whether the price tag was high or low or average since I know nothing about plumbing and what is reasonable or not. But I liked Jorge and trusted that he was being fair. I DO know that he gave me a break on the camera work and did not charge me extra for working into the evening or for his immediate response.

We had been having an issue with our shower for months, and we had a couple of plumbers come by and none of them were able fix it. The water would oscillate between freezing cold and scolding hot, making us want to avoid showering at the house. It was horrible.

Jorge came out about 20 minutes after I called him today. He and his son came out and cleared my drain line in about 40 minutes. He charged me $125 which was a very fair price for running the snake 100 feet and clearing the line. He was friendly, polite, hard working and answered my questions. Work guaranteed for 30 days.

For those yelpers that remember when gasoline was 79 cents a gallon, the $125 might seem high to you. Get a freakin clue people! Great customer service! Jorge seemed very honest, and took his time to explain everything to me. We have a drainage issue in the backyard and he was trying to offer multiple solutions to help solve the problem. He showed me how 4 of the pipes were all clogged with dirt and roots. He also used our hose to show how the water just backs up and overflows and the pipes aren't doing their job.

And this was all free! We haven't decided which solution we want to do yet, but when we do, we'll definitely be calling back JJ Rooter! Thanks guys!

I too am a big fan. We had a pipe break in the front yard with water everywhere. Jorge was out promptly, trenched and repaired the leak. Then my favorite part, his team left the site looking like new - no loose mud to be found anywhere. We then decided to add a French drain which Jorge and team constructed ahead of schedule despite it being the hottest weekend of the year. And yes, they left the site looking perfect. Jorge is friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely hard working. He replaced the galvanized pipes in my house with copper, and replaced the old tanked water heater with a tankless model. He talked through all of the options and could explain more clearly than other plumbers exactly what needed to be done and why. Jorge had to fix my kitchen sink also it badly needed to be rotor out my sink.I called and he, Jefferson were here in 3hrs.

I secretly know a lot about plumbing, so he passed the most important test he was very honest. He repaired my sink for nothing, he could have said all your J traps and older plumbing needs to be replaced. Instead he fixed the drain and I don't think he charged for the repair.

We tipped both of them they were that good. Nice guy.

I think honesty is so important because now I can get him to do my elderly stepmom's house and not worry about her being taken. He is not cheap, but knowing what you're doing and being honorable is MORE than worth a $175 done in less than 2.5 hours.

Outstanding service! I called for help with a leaking kitchen faucet, and Jorge was able to come out the next day. He arrived on schedule and let me know before arriving that he was on his way. I appreciate that he told me I could buy the replacement parts myself to save money (which I didn't do in this case because it was preferable for me to pay extra to a professional rather than spend time obtaining the parts myself). He was able to quickly get the parts and returned only a couple of hours later to replace the faucet. Before returning, he texted photos of the replacement faucet and called to get my approval of the model he selected. And to top it all off, he was extremely pleasant. And, to conclude... Yelp is a fantastic resource, and the area I live in, is well-served by this community. Jorgé is calm and serene, and I appreciated it. Thinking we would get by with a simple snake, we ended up replacing a section that has given us trouble for years. I felt his work was comprehensive and he was very patient to describe the issues. This is probably the biggest complaint I had with my previous contractor. He wasn't focused on solving the whole problem, but rather just finish the job and get out to the next one.

So, I heartily recommend JJ to others needing drain cleaning or pipe replacement. His pricing is fair, and he will help take care of your problem, quietly and efficiently. You will not receive a very formal work proposal or presentation, but it's plumbing and I really just want to know that drains are cleared and tightly sealed. Jorge is awesome!

We have been having a leak in the pipe under the kitchen sink since forever. A few months ago we had a plumber come check it out and he gave us a quote of $250 and said he had to buy new pipes for the whole thing! We didn't take his offer.

Fast forward to this month. I started looking for plumbers on Yelp, and called everyone starting from the top of the list but no one picked up until Jorge. I asked what was the earliest time he could come in and he said he could come in the next morning! After our call I also received a text from Michael Your Plumber saying he is not available but that I should call Jorge :D

Today when Jorge was here he spent only about 5 minutes to stop the leak! Just by adjusting the alignment of the pipes! I was so amazed...However, he didn't just stop there. He spent the next 10 minutes checking to see if there were smaller leaks and examining other parts of the pipes besides the obvious places.

In the end, he said normally it's $120 but since he didn't have to get his equipments or anything, he was charging nothing!

I hope he gets lots and lots of business, because his service really is the best!

Our toilet stopped flushing at about 9 last night. After plunging mightily and pouring in some sort of gentle clog remove stuff, we stopped drinking fluids, in the hopes of making it through the night and finding it all fine in the morning. It wasn't.

Yelp led me to Jorge, who answered his phone at 7am (it sounded like maybe I woke him up, but he was very gracious). He was here by 8:15 or so, and the problem resolved quickly and for under $100. Apparently when you have lots of little bottles of toiletries on shelves in your tiny bathroom, and evil cats (he didn't say the evil part, but he didn't have to), you should keep the toilet lid closed. 5 stars for Jorge, -7 stars for kitties who like to throw tiny yet destructive things into toilets.

Jorge and his crew were really fantastic. I can't believe how much work they did. Our sewer pipe runs the entire length of our very large backyard (instead of to the street -- argh!) and had fallen apart and was clogged. They had to dig three really deep holes, one under a deck, one of them 7 feet deep, and replace the entire pipe. They did it quickly and efficiently and were really nice to work with. My 7 year old daughter came in to tell me how nice the workers were, and she's shy!

They finished late on a Sunday and didn't want to do the cleanup in the dark, but I had to be at work on Monday, so I just paid them the full amount on the assumption that they would come back and do a moderate clean up on Monday. Their cleanup was immaculate. It honestly looks much better than when they got here. They swept my front porch, even though they didn't really work there. I was very pleased and felt lucky to have had such a great crew with such a difficult job.

As all plumbing problems tend to happen on major holidays, mine started the day before New Year's eve when I realized my water heater had an issue after being forced to take a barely warm shower. Wow, so impressed and definitely have found ourselves a plumber! We had an unexpected dishwasher leak under our house on Sunday evening. I called J.J.'s and left a message and didn't really expect to hear back until Tuesday since it's Indigenous People's Day tomorrow, but he called me back in less than 30 minutes. He was at our house 45 minutes later, diagnosed a faulty pump on the dishwasher and let us know it made more sense to replace the whole unit than to repair it. He left and didn't charge us a dime! Who does that in this modern, expensive Bay Area world?? Any plumbing services we need in the future will definitely be handled by J.J's. His speedy help took an otherwise extremely stressful situation and gave us a sense of control, because now we are able to share accurate information with our homeowner's insurance and our dishwasher's warranty protection plan that should help us get this sorted out quickly and for a minimal cost to us. This the second time I've worked with Jorge. The first followed two other plumbers who simply didn't want to do the job. Jorge showed up quickly after I placed a call. We had a clogged cleanout, which caused upstream standing water (in tub) and toilet. Jorge cleared the clog, ran a snake through the sewer lateral to remove any roots (there was a small amount of it). Not sure what is the right pricing, however, I did feel that $500+ for clearing a clogged drain was on the high side. Just want to say that, Jorge was very professional, and did the job well.

Cleaned up thoroughly and I felt the pricing was satisfactory considering that he came quickly (whereas numerous plumbing calls I made could not get to me for at least a few days!). Called Jorge for an emergency job on a Saturday afternoon. We had a leak in our bathroom sink and in trying to fix it a part of the pipe broke off and water was literally flowing down the walls and we had to shut off the main water to the house. Jorge showed up ASAP with less than 24 notice. We actually had another plumbing issue come to light when he was working on the unrelated problem. He jumped in and fixed our flooding. fantastic guy, very honest (he could have told us there was an elephant in our pipes and we would have paid him to remove it) and super fast. We had a clog that we couldn't handle with our non-electric snake and he came over within an hour and a half of us calling and dealt with it quickly and was out. Oh and he's very reasonable!

My husband and I gave up trying to unclog our sink drain, after several attempts to snake it, and use draino, etc. Nothing we could do worked. I called Jorge, and he was able to come to our home within 3 hours. He quickly assessed what the problem was (a corroded pipe and a complete clog about 10 feet into our system) and had the machinery and tools with him to deal with the problem. In only a little more than an hour, he had replaced the broken pipe, and unclogged the drain. And we felt his price was more than fair. I would highly recommend his work.

I found this company after contacting Dominic at MSK Plumbing, he did plumbing work for us before and was excellent, unfortunately he's gotten so booked you have to wait two to four days and my issue couldn't wait so the receptionist referred me to JJ Plumbing and I also read the reviews on Yelp and Yelp never seems to disappoint. I'm glad we got them to do the work at our home after two other plumbers came out and couldn't fix the problem. They came out right away (same day) and unclogged our toilet they came back the next day and did a camera inspection and replaced a pipe and installed a clean out. They worked fast and efficiently. Will highly recommend and will use them again if ever needed. Great work!

I have no experience in fixing thing as my husband is my go to guy or he is the point person to get it done. This time I was left with the task of finding a plumber to fix our kitchen sink as I thought I had clogged the garbage disposal with some noodles. Anyway, after answering my message they were at my house within the hour.

After I explained what I thought was the problem and how drano, some weird acid and a 25ft snake didn't fix it he diagnosed the problem as being grease build up. I didn't believe it but whatever, I'm not a plumber and I don't know pipes.

So after doing a good job of explaining to me what my very reasonable options were we proceeded with the first option since we are on a tight budget. They did exactly what we agreed upon and when they cut open the pipe there were no noodles, just grease so thick I thought there were dirty paper towels crammed in the pipes.

I will use them again for any future plumbing issues. They were more than reasonable in their pricing and their prompt and effective work definitely took away that vulnerable feeling I initially had when I took on the task of finding a plumber.

I tried and tried for about a month to snake the shower drain myself but with no success. I also poured about half a bottle of Drain Care down it as well, which made it worse. I finally gave up and called JJ Rooter and Plumbing. Jorge showed up when he said he would. Went right to work. He was extremely calm and professional. Cleared up my bathtub drain in no time, cleaned up after himself and left just as quickly as he had come. Would definitely call again and highly recommend to others.

First, I usually don't write reviews, but yesterday was a portal I stepped in much like The Twilight Zone... My wife flushed a face towel down the toilet while she was cleaning. (She's special, those that have one/are one like her, will understand). It clogged and there was an ever so lovely waterfall coming through the walls and on her cherished hardwood floor downstairs. Whooo the floooors!!! she screamed running downstairs Tazmanian style complete with grunts and tornandos, Warner Bros. would be proud. I cut a drainage hole so the drywall wouldn't collapse. put down tarps a wash bucket etc, while she called a company that rhymes with Rotor Pooter. They sent someone that Used to spray pesticides, that sh*t'll mess with your brain after a while... I uhhhhh...(reset) had to take a break, now I'm a drain man. Great I have a superhero to get this towel out for truth justice and the American way, OK, Drainman have at it! EPIC FAIL. Apparently R.P. has varying degrees of superheros, mine was a neeb trainee that hadn't earned his cape or mask. He said I can have a plumber come out if you like? more $$$ No... I don't like, See you later DM. I can say that Pooter gave back some of the fee for sending the wrong superhero so, props for that.

I called Jorge he came out, in less than the time stated, explained any question asked, and gave simple solutions for what he could've easily said was major work (Pooter said I would need to cut my main sewer line). He cleared the line and stayed to verify its function. He also checked for any leaks caused by the back up, and fixed a overfill valve leak on a bath tub. He was professional, skilled, and confident, a cool dude. His rates are smile inducing, not cringe producing. It's hard to find 3 things in life, and if you have them you are blessed, A inspiring mate, a good mechanic, and an honest plumber. Jorge, you're the real Superhero.

Jorge came over 15 minutes after i called him, even though it was after 6 and already getting dark.

He inspected our overflowing 12 in diameter drainage pipe, and quickly determined the best method for clearing the pipe and explained the reasoning for the approach.

He provided us with a quote, and he set an appt for early the next morning to come back with the necessary equipment.

We, unfortunately, were unable to use his services as our landlord had a preferred vendor.

HE DID NOT CHARGE us for the diagnostic visit and refused payment when offered saying he hadn't done anything.

I highly recommend his services. He is a decent guy conducting an honest business.

We tried to remove a kitchen faucet as we had a new one to put in. We became frustrated after trying our hardest to unscrew the bolts underneath the sink that attached the existing faucet. They had become rusted and were not budging. On top of that we had a leak...drip drip drip...emptying the bucket before bed and upon waking up in the morning. Called a plumber who I won't name....screwed things up and after several hours promised to come back the next evening. That didn't happen. Finally reached a plumber who would come over after we got home from work--Jorge. He is our guy from here on out for our plumbing needs. He was here within an hour of our call...worked hard to get the old faucet unbolted and even installed the new one that we had purchased. No more annoying drip! So thankful to have found a plumber we can call upon. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Don't waste your time calling elsewhere, call JJ Rooter & Plumbing.

Called Jorge on a Friday for non-urgent sewer-snaking and root removal and video sewer inspection. He came the next morning and spent 2-1/2 hours on the job and took all the time necessary to explain everything to me and discuss options for permanently solving my root problem--but with no pressure at all. He used his very cool high-tech pipe and camera locator and marked out the path of the sewer under my property and up to the public sewer. Jorge even braved the crawlspace to find out where the sewer went underground. All this for just a routine rooter visit! I was also impressed by Jorge's friendly attitude and excellent manners. GREAT SERVICE - GREAT PRICE!

All I can say is that Jorge and his crew are simply the best! I live in an old house and had valiently been trying to snake my own backed-up kitchen sink for two days when I called Jorge practically in tears. He called me right back and was at my house within an hour. He quickly diagnosed the problem, was able to snake the whole drainage line. He let me know ways to keep the pipes clean, how the pipes are laid out in my house and what that means if I ever need to replace them (but not needed now, thankfully) and best of all, his service fee was so much less than the other rooter guys in the area for better quality work. Oh - and he cleaned up everything and helped me move storage stuff back without even asking! I have found my plumber - I cannot say enough nice things! I am a single mom to three sons and am pretty handy but am so relieved that when plumbing mishaps happen, that I can call Jorge and JJ's Plumbing!

Thank goodness for Jorge!
He saved me from what could have been a disaster at my house. It was 7:45 pm at night and Jorge and his crew were finishing up a job across the street. These guys were working hard all day outside in the heat and it was clear they were ready to go home for the night. I was watering my garden when the hose suddenly ripped out from the wall and my yard immediately started to flood. My boyfriend and I began to panic as there was water everywhere and we couldn't get the valve in the sidewalk to shut off since it was screwed so tightly. LUCKILY we saw Jorge and ran across the street and asked for help. I thought, these guys are done for the day. Why would they help us? But Jorge came right over, assessed the situation and helped us right away. He brought his tools over and some help and was able to shut the water off. But that wasn't all. My boyfriend and I realized we would have no water in our house since the main water line had been shut down. So Jorge went back to his truck and found a plug and was able to keep the water on and plug the pipe where the hose came out of so that the water could be routed back up to our house. And he didn't even charge us. We insisted he take a nice tip since he pretty much saved us that night.....and at 8 pm no less!

They came out a did an efficient job on an unusually difficult clog. The snake didn't work, but they used a second piece of equipment called a jetter to get it done (at extra cost). They also did a small bit of ad-hoc temporary plumbing so that the waste water from the entire process would be discharged outside and not in my basement (no extra cost). Finally, they cleaned up thoroughly when done. I'd call them again if I even needed to.

I had spent a good part of a Sunday trying to clear a clogged kitchen sink drain, to no avail. Looking online, I liked the reviews I saw for JJ Rooter & Plumbing and called them Sunday night. They set up an appointment for Monday morning and showed up on time. They spent hours trying to clear a 64 year old galvanized pipe line with a snake. After hours of work, they did manage to clear the line, but clearing the line put holes in the pipe that was being held together by rust and corrosion. They left to buy supplies and returned in the afternoon to replace about 25 feet of pipe and adding two new cleanouts in the process. They were polite, worked hard, and solved a bad problem in one day. What more could you ask?

We had a sudden main sewerline blocked emergency and my regular plumber was unavailable. I took a quick look on Yelp, and called Jorge at JJ Rooter and Plumbing. Jorge said he could come in the morning but when I told him it was an emergency he said let me see if I can change another appointment and I'll call you right back. He called back and then came over 1/2 hour later. Jorge was very mellow, very knowledgeable, and fixed the problem quickly. For $125 I think I got a good deal.

Ok, no biggy. Had a bathtub drain clogged with hair -- took a shower and ended up standing in 4 of water. Called Mister Rooter first (that was a mistake). They showed up promptly and offered to unclog my tub drain for $241.00!! Yeah, right. Then called JJ Rooter -- they also came out promptly and for $95.00 the drain was unclogged and the tub was thoroughly cleaned. Thank you. Use them, they're good.

J.J. Rooter and Plumbing was referred to me by another plumber who couldn't come out to the house right away. We were desperate and when I spoke with Jorge at J.J. he said he was busy and could also come out the next day. My heart sank as one more day with backed up sewage in the shower and toilet would be horrendous. He picked up on my vibe and immediately said he would come out to see the problem. Once at the house, he was quick, professional, and immediately identified the problem. The short of it was that the job (a sewer lateral replacement) that could have taken 2 or 3 days was done in one day. His quote was the lowest and his team of men dug and sawed through concrete and replaced the pipes and left my front yard looking as if nothing had happened. And the best part was that his work is fabulous and extremely well priced. A good and reliable plumber is an old house's best friend!
