A & J scoped the pipes as part of my home inspection before I moved in, and luckily I had their business card still.
After some recent rain, an inch or more of mud was backing up over my outside basement stairwell drain, totally covering the landing area itself.
I called RotoRooter and they quoted me $280-$419 to fix the issue.
I called Marty, the owner, of A & J and he came out the next day. He was done in less than an hour, pointed out what was likely causing the issue, and gave me instructions as to how I could maintain the issue so it won't be as likely to happen again.
Oh, and it was only $110!
Definitely recommend this family owned business.

I had about Plumbing come to my house and install some bathroom sink faucets. The Plummer was very polite and businesslike, he was friendly and professional. He installed our faucets with ease and explained what had went wrong with the old faucets. He had the work done in less then an hour (even though a previous Jefferson county company sent a plumber who looked at the routine job and said he couldn't do it and would have to come back, after he called his boss) I'm so thankful for about plumbingand they will be my plumbers in the future and I will highly recommend them to my family and my 5,000 + co-workers

My basement utility sink backed up so I was afraid of a huge issue. The Redington plumber came promptly, assessed the problem and finished before I knew it. Very good work.

I am so happy with this service. I received excellent prompt and professional service. They are very reasonably priced. This will be my go to service for all my sewer and drain needs. Awesome find!

Our kids (3.5yo twins) clogged the downstairs bathroom with both poop and wipes. Cue the emergency call because we had no idea how bad this clog was until I tried to take care of it myself. Allen Pohlman came through within about 45 minutes of calling for assistance and got us squared away quickly and cleanly. Allen also spotted another issue and explained to my wife and me how to fix it without breaking the bank.
Prices are actually really good for an emergency call. Even better, Allen was incredibly nice and not just trying to slog through another call. I'll be contacting him again if I need an assist, for sure

Not as promised. Shoddy work. Couldn't even put a faucet on at the correct angle. Actual bill twice the estimate price with no detailed explanation. Poor communication between plumbers and the owner, who never inspected the work site to see what was going on.
Go elsewhere- certainly not recommended if you're looking for craftsmanship.
Failed job.

Josh of Joshua Plumbing proved to us his honesty and integrity, and therefore gained out loyalty. A competing plumber suggested a major plumbing restoration for our home which would have cost a lot and put our home under stress. After getting a second opinion from Josh, come to find out the job was not even necessary. Although Josh could have taken advantage of the opportunity to grease his own pockets, he did the right thing by us and saved us a bundle of money and time. Thank you Josh!

The work quality was ok but to be totally honest it's been hard working with them. We'd been scheduled for a week and nobody showed. All day called to try to find out when or if someone was coming. Blocked our whole day waiting and got almost no communication. Owner called and said he'd come to make it right. Which is good. But I won't be using them again.

Great service, very responsive, quick and at a reasonable price. Will use them again if needed.

Be very aware of the pricing before you get into anything. I had an A/C unit stop working on the Saturday before Labor Day. I did some research and knew it was either a contactor or capacitor in the outside unit, but knew I couldn't get parts until Tuesday, and didn't really want to tackle it anyway. I called Tiger on Sunday, expressing my reservations about a weekend service call, but was reassured by the dispatcher that Sunday was a regular day, and if I waited until Labor Day, there would be a holiday charge. The $99 service call fee (applied to the charges if they do the repair) seemed reasonable and in line with everyone else in the area, plus it was hot that weekend. The tech came out, and sure enough, replaced the capacitor and had the unit running in about 45 minutes or so. Then the fun started. The part he replaced was about $20 on Amazon. The amount he wanted to charge was about $530, flat rated with no breakdown on price. When he saw the look on my face, he immediately said he could waive the service call fee, leaving me with a bill of $430 - still a ridiculous amount for less than an hour's work. I paid the bill, but immediately know I was calling them back on Tuesday to straighten out the bill.
I called and we played phone tag for a few days before coming to an agreement that they would refund part of my money. In the course of the conversation, it became apparent they have a seriously flawed business model. Everything is flat rated, with no breakdown of charges available. I tried for 20 minutes, and still couldn't get the service manager to break it down for me. I even allowed him $100 for the part, just for the convenience of having it and hauling it around on the service van and asked him if $330 was a fair hourly charge. He had the nerve to tell me he thought that it was fair, then proceeded to tell me that if I was unhappy with the price, I could have had the tech take the part back off and only pay the $99 fee. I would have never thought that was an option. I told him if I charge customers that rate, I'll quickly be out of business - and I work for a much larger field service business than Tiger.
The tech was competent and professional, other than trying to push their service contract on me. But I reiterate - know the price before you let them get too deep into the job.

Work seems of average or higher quality and they came the next day (which we didn't need). Price was a full 33% ($200) higher than a quote I got from another highly-reviewed plumbing company recently....we went with Rivers because my husband bought a Groupon and we assumed it'd end up being cheaper (and much quicker - a bonus, not a need.) It's our fault we didn't look into the price closely enough/explicitly ask for an estimate first prior to service; we got excited about getting it done tomorrow and took the bait, as they say.
If you need someone ASAP, they seem to be a good bet, but you're gonna pay for it.

I hired this company for an unbiased energy audit of my house. What I got was a big sales pitch to perform thousands of dollars of HVAC service. The sales person that came out was very nice, but I could tell his intent was to sell and not to inform. I got no advice on how to save energy. Their solution was focused only on sealing the HVAC duct system and other unrelated service (whole house humidifier, air purifier). Maybe it was my fault for picking a HVAC company to do an unbiased audit. Spent $189 but not happy about it. The one positive is that I asked the sales person to bring out his infrared camera, and that gave me more info than anything else. I'm not commenting on any other portion of their service, just the unbiased energy audit felt very biased.

Ed came on a Friday to address a sewer backup in the basement. Told us he would be back on Monday. I called after hours on Friday night to report the backup was now urgent, as we had raw sewage in the basement. A different plumber told us he would personally make sure Ed would be back on Monday. Called Judy, the receptionist, on Monday to make sure we would be seen. Was told they would try to squeeze us in. This was the first sign of a problem. No call, no plumber on Monday. We had been witout a shower/toilet since Friday now. Tuesday, I once again spoke to Judy to check the status of our issue. Was told Ed and Steve would talk it over and she would call me back. She then told me they would be at the house in the afternoon (Tue). I said, like, what, noon or one? She said yes. I took off work to be home at noon. When nobody was there by 1, I again called to check on the status. She said she paged the plumbers and they didn't respond and she would call me back. When I didn't hear back from her by 1:30, I called her to cancel the work order; I had found another plumber. Working with this company was a nightmare. I would not recommend their services to anyone.

The electrician did not provide the receipt of the remote purchased for both the fans. He also took my old remotes. Also the new remotes are of inferior quality than what I earlier had.

I was just recently reminded about this company. It's been many years since I have done business with them but my experience with them was completely unsatisfactory. I've heard some people say that Mr. Greg Goforth does good quality work but that is the absolute opposite of my experience with him.
